Freedom from Inner Conflict

When we are not in the duality flow (see Duality Hack #8.6), the brain generates an ongoing internal dialogue, presenting conflicting viewpoints. This is the brain’s way of making it look as if we exist as somebody in its duality fantasy. However, if you strive to maintain a clear and definitive identity, this ongoing internal dialogue is disruptive. It makes it difficult to maintain distinct views, whether it’s about political issues or philosophical beliefs.

Therefore, some attempt to silence the inner dialogue through meditation, gaining a sense of control and empowerment. In contrast, others keep themselves so busy that they seem to rise above the inner dialogue, or perhaps they talk so much externally that the internal conversation seems drowned out.

But you don’t need to do anything about the inner dialogue not to be disturbed, other than accepting that it is dual. You can do that by perceiving your reaction to the inner dialogue as ‘it is what it is’ (see Duality Hack #6.5). As this reveals that your response is twofold, you confirm duality. Hence, the brain no longer needs to generate conflicting internal communication to establish duality. Ergo, you feel free in the duality flow.

You could also solve the disturbance by ignoring the internal communication. For example, by perceiving your reaction to it as ‘Dunno what it is’ (see Duality Hack #6.5). Since that means you don’t validate the brain’s duality experiences as something, they are exposed as nothing. Consequently, you are free from the disturbance of something.

Appendix

As every experience of something, whether perceived as mundane or spiritual, is nothing, there’s nothing to learn but that the experience of something is make-believe. One way to learn it is to keep perceiving one’s experiences as ‘Dunno what it is’. See Duality Hack #6.6.
