+Enlightenment, its glimpses, and the undoing of more than one

Are there degrees of Enlightenment?

The body’s condition, where you are and how much you know are irrelevant to the Enlightenment of that which is One and its glimpses. But the Enlightenment of that which is One is beyond the senses, so it is without degrees. However, depending on how much you tone down the outward-facing senses’ substantial world, you can experience glimpses of Enlightenment with the inward-facing senses in various degrees.

Please notice that, like a movie trailer is not the movie, the glimpses of Enlightenment are not the Enlightenment of that which is One. But unlike a movie trailer, which does not contain the whole film, the glimpses contain the Enlightenment of that which is One. When you stop dividing the glimpses of lucid light, for example, into colours and shapes, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in without any transition.

It is as if an intensely bright light comes out of nowhere through a black-looking gap. Immediately, it terminates your consciousness so it can push your nothingness through the black gap that is no longer because there is no awareness to hide that which is One.

Therefore, if you want to hold onto being someone in a world with more than one, thus denying the formlessness of oneness, you must stop the extraction of consciousness. An effective way is to see the light as powerful. It requires more than one, so you immediately return to a world with more than one.

The Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of it

Nobody can attest to you having been in the Enlightenment of that which is One, as that calls for more than one. For the same reason, you do not know you entered it and rebooted as nobody looking like somebody in a world with more than one.

But in such a world you get glimpses of Enlightenment as lucid light, celestial musicimmortal sweetness, or the echo of oneness’ sublime intimacy one at a time. Each time, they remind you of nothing entering a void in a gap of light, falling into the formlessness of oneness. So eventually, it dawns on you why you do not feel as if you are somebody but nobody in a world with more than one.

Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, its glimpses do not entirely wipe out thoughts. But you forget to assign them a specific meaning, thus moving lightly in the material world of the outward-facing senses.

If you return from the Enlightenment of that which is One to the experience of being someone substantial, your appearance remains the same.

The inward and outward-facing senses

As their names suggest, the direction of the inward and outward-facing senses is not the same. The outward-facing senses actively expand what you appear to be and have in a substantial world. That is impossible in the world of the inward-facing senses. It is so abstract that you appear intangible. Thankfully, you can use this abstractness to soften your definitive appearance in the world of the outward-facing senses. Or you can use it to have glimpses of Enlightenment, travelling through lucid worlds of light

But suppose you have to do something demanding in the world of outward-facing senses. In that case, it is best to devote yourself to the outward-facing senses so the abstractness of the inward-facing senses does not space you out. Syncing the inward and outward-facing senses in the correct ratio per your present situation is easier if you leave it to the empty breath. See Duality Hack #9.8.

The inward-facing senses and the body

The inward-facing senses cannot heal your body. Nevertheless, their abstractness breaks the link you impose between the body and the psychological sphere. Therefore, since the body can communicate with the biological system uninterrupted by your mental wellness ideas, it can be healed per its physical nature. That may not include genetically caused diseases. However, since you do not combine them with psychological worries, it is easier to deal with these diseases (see Duality Hack #7.1-5).

However, if you devote yourself to the inward-facing senses to feel better in troubled parts of the body, you focus on something specific. Therefore, since you enter the world of the outward-facing senses, the body does not get the relaxation it needs to heal. You do not undo the belief in thoughts’ power by trying to stop them

Jesus, as described in the New Testament, has never existed in the history of the world. Ergo, the story about him in that book is a construction of thoughts. But that also applies to the so-called facts that make up the history of the world. Science is unable to find something that attests to the world’s creation or that it exists as something substantial. Hence, they conclude that the world is nothing but an empty space thought up as substantial.

However, that is impossible because thoughts have no power. Therefore, undoing the belief in being someone in a substantial world is not a matter of stopping thoughts but the idea that intangible thoughts can manifest something substantial. Since meditation enhances the idea that thoughts are powerful, it cannot undo the belief in thoughts’ strength. Thankfully, the Enlightenment of that which is One (Duality Hack #10) does that immediately. Thus, nothing substantial seems to hide that there never was or will be anything but the formlessness of oneness.

But the belief in thoughts’ power can also be undone over time by having glimpses of Enlightenment. They lead to a state of not-knowing, which wipes your slate clean. Then, you can enjoy the world that seems manifested by thoughts’ power while undoing it.

A state of not knowing

In a state of not-knowing, your standard interpretation of a substantial world falls apart. It is as if it is a fata-morgana until you judge something as extraordinary, thus returning to being someone definitive in a substantial world. However, since you come back with your slate wiped clean, you do not feel bound by the generally accepted way of being there, which is always to look for more. Hence, you settle for a simple life until you try to improve it. But since that is based on looking for more, you always need more to feel good. So, your ‘improved’ life is not peaceful but stressful.

The solution is to return to a state of not-knowing by not taking your ‘improvement’ seriously or using the stress it entails to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Then you again come back from a state of not-knowing with the slate wiped clean, thus living a simple life until complicating it and returning to a state of not-knowing to have the slate wiped clean. And so it goes until you forget to leave a state of not-knowing and the Enlightenment of that which is One set in.
