The world is physical, not psychological

Before and after Freud – now with Alexius’ Duality Hacks

Others than Alexius’ Duality Hacks discuss the attempt to use the body as a means to hide psychological problems. In Bioenergetics (see Wikipedia), the theory is that the body gets sick because you dump psychological issues into it. Before Freud, it was the other way around. At that time, the belief was that the cause of psychological problems was physical.

However, Alexius’ Duality Hacks disagree on a link between psychological and physical problems. Even though the same organ in the brain processes these experiences, they are not combinable. Psychological and physical matters, such as day and night, are excluded from each other. The body needs not love but food to survive. And on a psychological level, it is not food but feeling loved that inspires you to continue.

This Duality Hack (#7) addresses the unfortunate belief in a physical and psychological connection. When you undo their supposed link where it is conceived, namely in the mental zone, the body’s biological system is free to fix physical issues materially, and you can deal with the psychological ones immaterially.

Your relationship with your phone reflects that in a world of duality every experience is twofold
Sometimes you feel happy about your phone and at other times sad. Thus, it is a reminder that the constant interplay of opposites makes you feel complete in a world of duality. [Photo: Alexius]

If your phone is acting strange and that makes you sad, having the phone repaired probably removes the sadness from your awareness. Unfortunately, it will pop up again when something else bothers you psychologically. But not if you remember your phone made you sad and happy. Thus, it reflects the interplay of sadness and happiness which always goes on in your psychological zone. Joining that, you are neither happy nor sad but happy/sad. Therefore, since sadness contains happiness and vice versa, your phone does not have to be perfect to feel happy/sad.

Remember to appreciate your phone for pointing out that you do not have a problem with sadness if you see it as twofold. Then, you recognise it constantly collaborates with its opposite to make you feel whole.

Immaterial issues are not combinable with material ones

According to contemporary psychologists, you dissociate yourself from unpleasant psychological feelings by dumping them in the body’s darkness. However, immaterial issues are not combinable with material ones.

Therefore, when you separate yourself from an emotion, like anger, you do not actually dump it in the body. Instead, you imagine disguising anger in the discomfort of a physical issue in the body, thus feeling calm. It gives you a temporary relief, so the next time you want to eliminate a psychological feeling, you automatically imagine combining it with a physical one.

But while dissociation may temporarily remove the anger from your consciousness, it remains in the subconscious, silenced by a vulnerable part of your body. When the suppressed energy surfaces, it feels like the vulnerable body part hurts. However, the pain is not there but in the psychological sphere, where you long ago excluded anger from your awareness by projecting it onto the body.

Fortunately, if you acknowledge your rage in the psychological zone, you can perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that reveals your anger is not alone but paired with calmness, you do not need to dump anger in the body to feel calm. On the contrary, you need anger to define calmness to feel it genuinely.

Looking at the fusion of non-material and material issues where it is conceived

Worrying is often pieced together by continually saying, “What if…?« Hence, your anxiety is a construction of thoughts you perceive as worrying.

Once you have concluded your anxiety is caused by physical pain, you, by reflex, look for the same connection next time you are worried. Hence, you automatically search the body for a flaw that can explain your worry. That is until you do not try to explain your anxiety away but perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’

That reveals your misery is constantly interacting with joy to explain each other. Therefore, since misery includes joy and vice versa, there is no need to eliminate your misery to feel good. On the contrary, you need misery as much as joy to feel fulfilled.

If you decide you are clumsy because you continually drop things, you may hide feeling wrong in the stomach. Therefore, someday, you are diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). See Wikipedia. However, this sickness is not physically measurable through blood or bodily analysis. So, the diagnosis comes from eliminating other measurable issues, indicating IBS is a psychosomatic disorder.

That is why it seldom is healed via physical solutions, such as excluding specific food from the diet. You must address the issue in the psychological sphere where you see yourself as awkward. If you do not hide feeling clumsy from your awareness by projecting it onto the stomach, you can perceive it in the psychological zone as ‘it is what it is.’ Then, you see your singular feeling is twofold. Clumsiness is paired with grace. So, when you are clumsy, you are graceful, feeling complete in the interaction of opposites.

Not burdened by the unfortunate belief in body-mind integration

Being the basic self, you see every moment as perfect, no matter its appearance, because you perceive your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ That is why Alexius feels good even though his physical condition does not contribute to it. Due to Scheuermann’s disease, internal organs have been harmed, so he has chronic GERD and lung and nose inflammation. Furthermore, he has had three operations on the heart. And one of his eyes hardly works. The list goes on.

He has never smoked and has always eaten healthy and exercised, so it seems he cannot improve his physical issues. Nevertheless, sometimes, he becomes the special self, hoping it will enhance his body. But since this attempt rests on not feeling good enough, it enhances that feeling. Therefore, frustration builds up until he returns to the default perception of the basic self: ‘it is what it is. Hence, he feels fine, regardless of appearance.

In this Duality Hack (#7), we have examined a common way to eliminate emotions judged wrong by imagining dumping them in the body. We have also examined projecting enjoyable emotions onto the body to make them appear more substantial and lasting. In both cases, you free the body from your imagined fusion by looking at it where you pictured it, namely in the psychological sphere. It is so airy that what you look at dissolves.

But since non-duality is endless, ultimately, there is nothing to heal other than believing that you are someone in a world of duality. Therefore, why spend time undoing the belief in body-mind integration? Firstly, time is an illusion. Secondly, living per duality makes you feel good, while Alexius’ Duality Hacks undoes the belief in duality.
