Unfiltered, rapid thoughts and feelings spark a take-off into the empty breath, bringing outward- and inward-facing consciousness into instant sync with present needs.

From Duality Hack #9.3 in the free eBook Alexius’ Duality Hacks.
Duality Hack #9 isn’t about slowing down thoughts – it’s about riding their uncontrolled speed to spark a take-off into the empty breath. It brings speedy thoughts in the low-frequency world of outward-facing consciousness into step with the high-frequency world of inward-facing consciousness.
This alignment lets thoughts accelerate further without triggering panic when they eventually move so fast that we no longer see them as separate. Thus, unable to be conscious of ourselves as someone definitive, we don’t hide the formlessness of Oneness. See Duality Hack #9.9.
Speed ignites a take-off to the empty breath
It may appear counterintuitive, but the fastest way to relax is not to stop thoughts from speeding up. Instead, ride their speed to spark a take-off into the empty breath. Connected with it, you’re not stressed. You’re in a state of not-knowing, relieved of the need to understand and control everything.

When you feel caught in a swift stream of thoughts and emotions, don’t try to flee the chaos by pacifying yourself. Instead, step into the full, uncontrolled flow of thoughts and emotions to spark a take-off into the empty breath. It wipes your slate clean (Duality Hack #9.1-10). Hence, when you return to the conscious experience of being someone, you’re nobody having fun pretending to be somebody (Duality Hack #2.1-5).

If you don’t attempt to slow your thoughts and emotions, they are free to accelerate and spark a take-off into the empty breath. This, in turn, synchronises inward-facing consciousness with outward-facing consciousness to suit your present needs. [Photo: Alexius]
The energy of suppressed feelings launches the empty breath
You don’t need a special posture or ritual to spark a take-off into the empty breath. Whether active or inactive, acknowledge the current swirl of thoughts and feelings without fitting them into a specific belief system. Their unbound energy then naturally sparks a take-off into the empty breath.

Maybe you’ve tamed disordered thoughts and feelings by organising them into a belief system supposed to bring relaxation. Eventually, though, this setup will stress you out. Freedom comes when you step into the turmoil, provoking a take-off into the empty breath. In its bliss of nothing, there’s nothing to fix. Thus, you no longer need a system to feel at peace.

When something bothers you, use the frustration to launch into the empty breath, revealing that what you judged as terrible is nothing.

If you keep your feelings to yourself instead of projecting them onto others, their energy gathers and so provokes a take-off into the empty breath.

The more we limit ourselves by our definitions, the more we feel like cracking. To prevent this, most improve their definitions until they feel so constrained that anger bursts out. Thankfully, by not controlling this, the unbound energy of anger then sparks a take-off into the empty breath, which undoes the belief in being definitive.

Unlearning everything you believe in knowing
Like most, you have likely systematised your thoughts and feelings into an image of yourself as good. However, while asleep, you can’t control this image. In dreams, you’re both hero and villain. If this feels disturbing, you might project your negativity in the dream onto something you don’t identify with, holding on to the idea that you’re only good.
But if you feel confined by the mental construct you’ve created, one that demands you always be good, then acknowledge the ugly parts of the dream as yours, so their unedited energy can initiate a take-off into the empty breath. In doing so, it synchronises the world of outward consciousness with the inward one, where everything moves so fast and so disorganised that there’s no differentiation between good and evil. Consequently, there’s no need to be solely good.
Unfortunately, when you read the description in Duality Hack #9.4, you may think that the empty breath is something. However, it is not defined by time and space and, therefore, not something in a particular location that can be felt in a specific way.

You can use any construction of thought to spark a take-off into the empty breath. Hence, since a world with more than one is a construction of thought, every experience becomes an opportunity to spark a take-off into the empty breath. [Photo: Alexius]
We usually learn by imitating others. For instance, we learned to walk and talk by imitating our parents. But connecting with the empty breath is about unlearning, not learning. So, Alexius’ description of the empty breath is not meant to be replicated, but to give you an idea of what it’s like to be an empty vessel for the empty breath.

Trying to control breathing or force deep breathing doesn’t help you connect with the empty breath, as it reinforces the idea of being fixed and definite. The same goes for seeking focus, balance, or centredness.

Humans and pets have no specific language to express love between them. For this reason, the pure affection you feel for your cat can effortlessly carry you into the empty breath.

Because the empty breath is not defined by time and space, it’s not in a particular location that one can feel in a specific way. So if you expect a certain experience, you miss the bliss of nothing and end up with the frustration of something.

When you avoid a feeling, it seems like something – when you acknowledge it, you’ll discover it’s nothing. Hence, you know that the absence of something is blissful.
