In the brain’s fantasy, Alexius’ basic self is a librarian

Alexius’ Duality Hacks have nothing to offer because it takes more than one to give something, and there is no more than that which is One. However, it also requires more than one to know something. Consequently, this statement is as deceptive as anything else you know.

Nevertheless, if you apply Alexius’ Duality Hacks and realise that everything you know is an illusion, they have fulfilled their purpose. Still, there is no reason not to enjoy the belief that it is possible to be conscious about something while simultaneously having it undone. That is what Duality Hack #5.1-6 is about.

Alexius, the basic self and the makings of the Duality Hacks

The basic self of Alexius is comparable to a librarian or an app that automatically organises everything dropped on it so others can better use it. What Alexius arranges is unimportant. As long as it is in the service of others, he fulfils his function as a servant, thus in sync with the basic self as fantasised by the brain.

But Alexius’ Duality Hacks comes in a flow of wordless tunes, which are disrupted if he structures them. So when Alexius writes them, he bypasses the basic self by entering a state of not-knowing. In that state, he hums along with ethereal melodies until words, hastily and disorganised, flow out of his hands into the computer. See Duality Hack #1.13 about this and Duality Hack #9.10 about a state of not-knowing.

However, the combination of words arising from humming along with ethereal tunes often seems too incoherent for a world held together by reason. So, Alexius’ basic self comes in handy to organise them coherently.

Lately, this Duality Hack (#5.1), a pilot to Alexius’ Duality Hack #5-8, popped up when Alexius hummed along with ethereal sounds.  Since these hacks are about living per duality, the brain participated happily in making them, even though the purpose of the hacks is to undo the brain’s duality story. After all, it knows it is just a fantasy. Therefore, the hacks are not about learning but about unlearning everything you believe is real.

Connected or disconnected

Fundamentally, there is only one way to appear as someone: the basic self. You cannot alter the construction of thoughts the brain collects to generate and maintain the basic self. However, the consciousness that the brain has installed in the basic self to make it aware of itself may revolt against the brain’s domain by perceiving itself as special and independent of the brain.

But the special self feels disconnected and incomplete because its perception of itself is out of sync with the brain’s script. In contrast, the basic self feels connected and completely in sync with the brain. Hence, it does not ask, ‘Who am I?’ as the special self keeps doing because it does not want to accept that it is a product of the brain progressing per its playbook.

Instead, the special self insists on perceiving itself as independent of the brain by excluding everything from the special self’s awareness that does not fit its idea of being self-sufficient.

The special self excludes its unfavourable traits by projecting them onto vulnerable parts of the body. However, the suppressed energy entails a sense of disunion that breaks out sooner or later as something diagnosed as a psychosomatic disorder.

Unfortunately, the special self does not want to see that it has caused its problem, so it blames the brain for its discomfort. Thus, it justifies dealing with the body based on the special self’s non-physical wellness ideas rather than the brain’s physical approach.

But an immaterial approach to the body is like sending positive thoughts to a car without gasoline. The good vibes do not make it drive. A vehicle’s nature is material – likewise, the body’s. Hence, it must be taken care of materially and not mentally. See Duality Hack #7.1-5 for more about that. See the next Duality Hack regarding the basic self versus the special one.
