Duality is a simulated layer on top of non-duality, like VR headsets, replacing the user’s natural environment with a virtual reality.

A world of duality is a virtual layer on top of non-duality to make duality appear real and non-duality unreal. However, an illusion cannot hide reality, so it is not the problem. It is the belief the illusion is real that seems to conceal non-duality.
This belief is upheld by dividing the illusion into natural and unnatural appearances. You perceive the light from the sun as natural and the light from a bulb as unnatural. But in reality, they are both virtual. A supposedly live flower is as false as a plastic flower. Love is as fake as ego, soul, consciousness, truth, god, angels, spiritual beings, and astral planes. Not even Alexius’ description of non-duality is genuine because non-duality is One, and an explanation consists of different elements.
In a virtual world, you are like code, looking at a world of code!
This screenshot of the source code behind the beginning of a post is not recognisable before your media renders it into something familiar on top of the code. Likewise, there is nothing to see in non-duality until the brain divides it into fragments layered on top of it.
Knowledge seems to establish duality as reality
Even within the phoney reality of duality, what you read now is make-believe. It consists of letters and numbers coded in the past and added to faraway servers. Your media connects with these servers when you hit a specific link or write the name for the code behind these words. Then, it commands your browser to translate the code into a layer on top of it. Finally, your brain visualises the layer as these words and images in a way familiar to you
In short, a data converter fabricates a layer on top of digital data that the brain renders into a simulation of these words and images. However, Alexius is not technical-minded, so he cannot tell precisely how it works. Yet, as he is comparable to the Enlightenment of that which is One, he is sure it does not work. Non-duality is formless, thus endless, so nobody can simulate something shaped. So, the above is a metaphor to explain the unexplainable, namely that we appear in a world of duality, although there is nothing but non-duality.
The same applies to the following explanation: All thought combinations are similar to code, set up by the brain to be experienced as images of something tangible by you as someone substantial. Hence, what you see is a construction of thoughts layered on top of reality by the brain, which, consequently, is a construction of thoughts.
Fortunately, you are closer to non-duality if you do not try to understand this because non-duality is oneness, and it takes more than one to know something.
What and where you believe in being is virtual reality fabricated by unreal impulses, as it takes more than one to receive something.
Not-knowing undoes the belief in a virtual reality
So, since it takes more than one to know something and you are non-dual, you cannot understand what and where you are. Acknowledging that you are free from believing you are what where you are not. However, most people prefer to act as if they know what and where they are, not to look foolish but wise, thus restricting themselves by their knowledge.
Appearing as someone in a world of duality, you must know a lot to make it. In contrast, undoing the belief in being there requires no knowledge.
It can be helpful to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks to stop feeling ashamed of being foolish and, like Alexius, founded on not knowing what and where you are. He does not instruct you to follow specific steps to improve yourself but guides you to foolishly forget what and where you believe in being, thus undoing the belief in being limited.
Be aware that being foolish like Alexius is only for those without obligations. No worries! If you have responsibilities, you devote yourself to them. By doing that, you are on the same track as the foolish one, not caring about form but content. So, it is easy to forget what and where you are.
Wise one divides good and evil.
Foolish one does not separate,

Wise one knows the way to self.
Foolish one has no self to know.,
therefore selfless
Wise one knows so much.
Foolish one understands nothing,
hence present
Wise one wants Enlightenment.
Foolish one wants nothing,

Using duality to undo it

Therefore, the belief in separation eventually gets undone since nobody can perceive the apparent differences in the world to make a difference. However, if the purpose of implementing The Duality Hacks is to have something, peace, for example, separation, is enhanced because it takes more than one person to get something.
