Alexius, The Man

Updated March 30, 2023

My name is Alexius Jorgensen. I was born in 1949 and grew up in Denmark. Nowadays, I am partly there and on La Gomera, a small Canary island close to West Sahara in Africa. Here is a short listing of my different appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one:

When I was 16, I left school and started working with children. A year later, sitting here furthermost to the left in a house built with the children. The photo is a snapshot of an image in an old magazine.

NO EDUCATION MAN
It is amazing what one can do when one has no education and does not know what one is or does.

NIGHTMARE MAN
My childhood was mostly about how to survive my violent dad.

MUSIC MAN
Was in charge of the music at my school and the city’s sports centre (65). Attended many concerts as a teenager, for example, Rolling Stones (65), Bob Dylan (66), Jimi Hendrix and Cream (67). Later on, Bryan Ferry (77), Egberto Gismonti (80), Milton Nascimento (82) Prince (86), Eric B. & Rakim (87) Philip Glass (96), Morcheeba (99), Antony and the Johnsons (05).

KID MAN
Worked with children since I was 16. Two of the bestselling newspapers in my native country wrote articles about how I dealt with kids in new ways.

HIPPIE MAN
In a hippie commune from 18 years old.

zNOMAD MAN
Travelled in a Volkswagen Camper with my girlfriend around Europe from 19 years old.

TAXI MAN
From 20 years old.

FRENCH MAN
Living in an old village in the south of France since I was 21.

ASHRAM MAN
A monk for four years from I was 22.

ENLIGHTENED MAN
At 22 years old, I, for a moment, forgot what and where I was, thus, as nothing, fell through a black hole into that which is One. Hence I am to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.

In this photo from the 70s, I pose for a photographer from one of the many newspapers writing about my restaurants. The photo is a snapshot of an image in an old newspaper.

BUSINESS MAN
Started two restaurants and two bars from scratch when I was 26. One of the restaurants was the first vegetarian restaurant in my native country. The other was among the first restaurants nominated to Guide Michelin. A fictional movie based on one of my bars and its characters of models, punks and musicians were produced by Danish Television, who also produced ‘The Killing’ and ‘Borgen’. Had no money when I started the business adventure because I had just moved out of Ashram. But quickly made a lot that I spent on my material dreams, such as a house on the beach. But after 12 years, I lost everything. So, like I started the business adventure, I finished it without money.

FAMILY MAN
Settled as a family man at the seaside with two beautiful sons from when I was 30.

DJ MAN
Dj’ed at a disco with house and techno music, and R&B was on the radio when I was 35.

Assistant at a massage school at the beginning of the 90s. The photo is a snapshot of an analogue image.

NO SPECIAL MAN
Felt like chilling out after years of serious business – from 38 years old.

HEALING MAN
Practising aura massage since 41 years old.

TV MAN
Producing television about the darker sides of life since I was 42.

TEACHING MAN
Was a teacher in graphic design at a Danish School for public relations since 43 years old.

MEDIA MAN
Delivering creative solutions for big and small businesses through my company Mediaman since I was 45.

PHOTO MAN
Until I recently deleted all of my photos on the web, except those included in Alexius’ Duality Hacks, I was on Google’s list of the best photographers in the world. But I was not a pro – just someone having fun shooting photos unposed and unarranged without a tripod or concern for the correct exposure, angle, frame but for creating an image reminiscent of the moment as I experienced it. Started doing this when I was 56.

Had just been wired up from the rainforest into a helicopter when I realised every moment is the perfect moment. Not in the sense that everything is perfect, but in the sense that the apparent difference between this and that makes no difference. In other words,  dying in the forest is just as perfect as surviving it. The photo is shot by one of the saviours.

FUTURE MAN
When I was 57, The Danish Institute of Future Research selected me as a role model for the time to come and called me a hero of the future.

ART MAN
Curator of several art sites on Google+ since I was 59.

THE PERFECT MOMENT MAN
When I was 61, I realised every moment is the perfect moment after being rescued by a helicopter from a rainforest where I was stuck for two days without food and water.

DUALITY HACK MAN
With no forward momentum and thus no expectation of the next words, I began writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks when I was 63.

There is not something to stop Alexius from writing his Duality Hacks because Alexius is nothing. Selfie © Alexius Jorgensen.

NO DEFINITE MAN
Do not use Facebook or other social media to be defined as someone. And although there is a body called Alexius installed in an apartment with things considered beautiful and a view seen as paradisaic, there is no ‘I’ with a need to be defined by this, nor by Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

MUMBO JUMBO MAN
Actually, all the above is mumbo jumbo because it takes more than one to be conscious about something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Consequently, everything experienced is nothing.

NO MAN HAS EVERYTHING
When experiences are revealed as nothing disguised as something, there does not appear to be anything hiding the formlessness of oneness. Thus you are and have everything. Of course, that is a metaphor because no one is or has anything in that which is One, since that requires more than one.
