The idea of duality was undone when it was perceived

Life is everything alive. This is why it does not contain anything that ends, and what you believe in being, therefore, is not of life but nothing. Fortunately, Alexius’ Duality Hacks uncovers that. A world of duality has indeed been explored by non-duality. It started with a big bang from where time was projected forward linearly. However, there was no going back to the same in a world of duality. For example, if ice cubes melt in water, they cannot be extracted from it and made into the same cubes again. And the light radiating from a bulb or the sun only goes forward. It never returns.

But in non-duality, it is impossible to go forward without going backwards simultaneously. It has to be one movement to remain one perpetual present, thus securing that nothing is lost. Therefore, duality was seen as unreal and discarded at the exact moment it moved forward without going backwards. However, parts of non-duality were very excited by the concept of linear time as that gave them something to hope for. Thus they decided to continue the cancelled adventure of duality.

They did that by making a fansite where followers could participate in ongoing stories of duality – just like, in the context of the world, a fan site of a cancelled TV show fabricates follow-up stories that supporters participate in and discuss. If they think the stories are real, linear time seems dangerous. But if you know everything happens simultaneously (see What time is!?), it is fun pretending to be in a world with past and future because where you pretend to be, you are not. Hence linear time is not scary (see hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation).

Of course, this article is not factual. It is part of duality, which is fantasy, thus the reason people want stories. However, not this one because it exposes they are nothing.

That said, non-duality does not consist of parts that differ from each other. Therefore, since nobody can investigate duality or go on fantasising about it, the above is a metaphor. But in its context, duality was deemed unreal the moment it was perceived, thus instantly aborted. However, afterimages of this moment repeatedly played in an interactive movie in cyberspace, seem to extend the cancelled show of duality.

Prologue to the inward-facing senses, Enlightenment and its glimpses

It takes more than one to have a vision, so no matter how impressive it may be, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but glimpses of it. It is comparable to a movie trailer, a sample of the whole, thus not undivided. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The world of the outward-facing senses is experienced via seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting/smelling something that seems physical. The world of the inward-facing senses can also be seen, heard, felt and tasted. However, you do not get a sense of something tangible but abstract. It is also here that you bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It comes through a hole that sometimes seems black. See the article The ins and outs of a black hole. But following the light into it is the end of both the outward and inward-facing senses. Hence the experience of something is over. Therefore, if you are aware of something, you are not in the Enlightenment of that which is One but outside, having glimpses of it via the inward-facing senses.

If you for a moment forget what and where you are you are, a world where there seems to be more than one does not seem to hide the enlightenment of that which is One.

You get inside the Enlightenment of that which is One when the glimpses of it are not perceived to differ because then is no separation to define you as someone definitive. Hence there is not somebody to fight the construction of thoughts that have replaced the formlessness of oneness with someone definitive is extracted by an exceptionally bright white light. Nor is there anybody to be aware of that everything you ever believed to be and have is gone. Consequently, there is nothing to gracefully fall through the hole that is no more because there is no experience to hide the formlessness of oneness.

Therefore, since what you believe in being has not been Enlightened, you appear to be the same if returning to the experience of being someone definitive. However, you do not believe this experience is real due to vague memories of formlessness. Hence you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.


Since the Enlightenment of that which is One has no beginning and end, someone definitive cannot experience it. But glimpses of it – for example travelling through lucid worlds of light – have a beginning and an end, so they can be experienced by someone definitive. This is done through the inward-facing senses, when the outward ones are toned down.

The outward and inward-facing senses
The outward-facing senses are geared to experience a world perceived as outside you, thus separated from you, whereas the inward-facing senses help you experience a world that does not seem to be separated from you. But it does not mean this world is inside you. There is neither anything inside nor outside of you, as that requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

It is the same within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, because, scientifically speaking, it consists of empty space. Therefore, what you experience is make-believe – also reading reads that it may be easier to undone this deception by turning down the volume of the outward-facing senses, and turning up the volume of the inner ones.

If you seem to see an E here, you are using the E, you have made in your mind, to hide all the empty space.

If you believe in seeing an ‘E’ here, you focus on seeing something recognisable to twist empty space into something. The empty space is not the formlessness of oneness, but when you do not imagine it is a world defined by time and space, no substantial elements seem to hide the formlessness of oneness. PARTIAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES RESULTS IN GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT
If you do not constantly focus on something specific, the outward-facing senses cannot fabricate the experiences of a world defined by time and space. Therefore, the more you defocus, the more the definable world of the outward-facing senses is complemented by the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. Thus you get glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. You see light shows if you are visual-minded, hear ethereal music if you are auditory minded, and taste or feel it if you are emotional minded.

The purpose of the inward-facing senses is to draw you into their abstract world, thus undoing the belief of being someone definitive – like a moth cannot help but follow its attraction to the flame, even though it is going to be the end of it.

Mixing something is based on the belief in separation, so do not try to mix glimpses of light with glimpses of ethereal music, for example. Just welcome the glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One that seems to come your way. But do not try to hang onto a glimpse or to have it repeated. If it changes into another aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One, go with that.

These glimpses, as already noted, are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because it has no room for someone being conscious of something since that requires more than one. This does not mean what you believe in being is transformed by the Enlightenment of that which is One into oneness. Instead, it is dismissed as an illusion.

Practically speaking, it might be best to downplay the visual glimpses of Enlightenment in daily life. It is because you will have a hard time navigating the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. But in most cases, you can safely go with glimpses of hearing, feeling or tasting hearing, feeling or tasting the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The healing of the body caused by partly being devoted to the inward-facing senses is a side effect that helps you not worry about its appearance and inevitable end. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

THE INWARD-FACING SENSES AND THE BODY
Devotion to the inward-facing senses will heal your body because it will give the body the peace it needs to heal itself. This may not include genetically caused diseases, though. However, due to the tranquillity, the inward-facing senses entail, a genetically created condition does not generate fear. Thus it is easier to deal with (see hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues).

But suppose the body’s wellbeing is the purpose of devoting yourself to the inward-facing senses. In that case, you cannot be attentive to the world of the inward-facing senses since that requires having no specific focus, so the world of the inward-facing senses fades out without you even noticing it. Thus the body is not being nurtured by it.

TOTAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES BIDS WELCOME THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
Complete devotion to the inward-facing senses welcomes the Enlightenment of that which is One, which immediately erases all memories of you being someone definitive. As you are not there anymore and never were, there is nobody to know how long time this takes. Besides, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not a process but one perpetual present.

But at first, it may seem to be a process, and as long as that is the case, the brain that produced your experiences as someone definitive is not finished. Thus it can be rebooted and recreate the experience of you as someone definitive. But since it takes more than one to be anything, the reestablished experience cannot contain the Enlightenment of that which is One. So although you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, you look like you used to. The only difference is that you know it is not you.

However, as soon as the Enlightenment of that which is One does not seem to be a process, the brain cannot be rebooted and, therefore, not produce the experience of you as a substantial being in a tangible world. Hence there is nothing to hide that which always has been and always will be that which is you, namely the formlessness of oneness. There is, of course, nobody to be aware of this since it takes more than one to be conscious of something.

IS THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE REQUIRED TO UNDO THE BELIEF IN BEING SOMEONE?
The Enlightenment of that which is One can be said to be the last step back to the formlessness of oneness. Still, as formlessness is endless, you have never left it. Thus it is not about going back but realise how you hide the formlessness of oneness, namely by believing you are someone definitive.

As already mentioned, the Enlightenment of that which is One does that in a split second. But it can also be achieved while enjoying the world of the outward-facing senses. In the below box, there are some suggestions on how to do this:

The more you perceive the apparent differences in the world of the outward-facing senses to not make a difference, the more the outward-facing senses function as a set-off to that which is One (hack #3.2 Inclusiveness is freedom).

The same applies to pretending to be someone definitive (hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or seeing symbols of life in the world (hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life).

And it also applies to being alone together, which does not mean that you are together with one or more who also are alone, but that you are alone together with your fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one, no matter how many there seem to be around you (hack #7.1 Alone together, we go home).

The empty breath (HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss) syncs the outward-facing senses with the inward-facing ones, so you over time are able to devote yourself so much to the glimpses of Enlightenment that they do not seem separated, wherefore the Enlightenment of that which is One sets in.

You do not even need Alexius’ Duality Hacks to have the belief in being someone undone. All that is necessary is not to remember what and where you are because then there is no belief in being someone definitive that appears to hide the formlessness of oneness.


There is no experience of love without the experience of hate, because you cannot know one without the other. Multitasking allows you to experience both emotions simultaneously, and so hate is as blissful as love. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The reason that so many avoid multitasking is that it leaves them no time to suppress anger and other feelings messing up the perfect image of themselves as somebody full of peace, compassion, inner strength and whatnot.

What they do not know, when keeping a specific feeling hidden – hate for example – is that they diminish the experience of its contrasts – in this case love – because you cannot have one without the other. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Least of all do they know that when both sides of a contrast are equally acknowledge, their apparent difference makes no difference. Thus loving somebody is as blissful as to hate them.

Here the world of the inner senses are about to shift to bright white light, which is gonna extract all the info you have collected in order to appear as somebody and leave it at the edge at a black hole so that there is nobody to fall into the nothingness of that which is one. This is not compatible with appearing in a world, where there seems to be more than one, so if that is what you want, you better make sure the info making up your personality is not extracted or you know where to find it again. There is no transition from seeing glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and getting into it. And since it is one perpetual present, you do not know when it extracts all the info making you appear as someone definitive so that nothing is sucked into a black hole where it gracefully falls into the formlessness of oneness. This is not compatible with appearing as someone definitive in a world defined by time and space, so if that is what you want, you better make sure that the info making up your appearance as someone definitive is not extracted which you prevent by going with the flow of fear. However, there is no fear in that which is One. It is impossible as it would require more than one. But it seems possible to imagine there is more than one, and going with the fear that this entails, you seem to leave it and instead be in a world where there seems to be more than one. MULTITASKING THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
Much devotion to the world of the inward-facing senses probably makes you spaced out in the world of the outward-facing senses. Yet, if you do not have to be present there, you go with the flow of the inward-facing senses, as if the world outside of you stands still.

But suppose you have to do something demanding in the world of the outward-facing senses. In that case, it is best to only devote yourself to that, so the abstractness of the inward-facing senses does not mess it up.

However, you can also multitask between the inner and outward-facing senses so that being loaded with glimpses of Enlightenment in the world of the inward-facing senses makes you indifferent to the constant demands in the world of the outward-facing senses.

When you multitask the world of the inner and outward-facing senses, thoughts are not considered to be yours. Thus nobody is going anywhere, even though it may appear so.

Multitasking is said to disturb the brain so that it is harder for it to focus on something specific. That is why it is beneficial regarding undoing the belief in being someone definitive  – especially the multitasking of the inner and outward-facing senses, which happens all by itself when connected with the empty breath. This is not a new religion or philosophy, that you must learn and strictly adhere to. On the contrary. It is about unlearning everything, so do not try to make sense of what you read.

A perfect moment with glimpses of enlightenment is something you are aware of. If you stop being aware of it, you cannot see any glimpse. There is nothing and that is where the enlightenment of that which is one sets in. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

WHERE DO GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT COME FROM
Physically speaking, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One seem to originate from a non-defined space behind the frequencies of thoughts near the pineal gland. It is probably also from there that you perceive the world when you are in a state of not-knowing.

The same applies when you pretend to be a person or perceive everything in the world as symbols of that which is One. The empty breath – sounding like sohang – is presumably picked up from there as well, physically speaking.

Furthermore, the pineal gland might work as a receiver for signals picked up by the eighth chakra, which has a magenta colour and is located above the head. Maybe the pineal gland or the eighth chakra is involved when experiencing glimpses of Enlightenment. You cannot know because you are blown out of the experience – and afterwards, you do not know where to look. And this is fine because focussing on the pineal will not bring about any of the above. It contracts the energy, so you feel boxed in as someone definitive. On the other hand, defocussing removes restrictions wherefore you do not feel limited to being someone specific.

The after-effect of ‘a state of not-knowing’ [under construction]

The after-effect of a state of not-knowing is a certainty that the thoughts needed for being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one automatically are produced by the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article is a continuation of A state of not-knowing and how to get there.

THE AFTER-EFFECT OF A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
You need to return from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being somebody after 20 minutes, 45 at most. If not, there is nobody to repeatedly confirm that the experiences fabricated by the brain are something, wherefore they are exposed as nothing. Therefore, since there does not seem to be something keeping the brain together, it falls apart.

That is why you should return relatively quickly from a state of not-knowing to the awareness of being someone if you do not want to end that experience. Since the slate has been wiped clean in a state of not-knowing, you come back to the conscious experience of being someone without the desire to be independent. Hence you are free to follow the brain’s script. See hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

This feels like starting from zero, so you slowly stretch the body. But not in a systemised way with coordinated movement, breathing, and meditation. However, since it looks like Tai Chi or Qigong and most special seekers always hunt for something it can mimic to appear spiritual, they assume they will magically enter a higher state by imitating these slow movements in a focused mode. A state of not-knowing, though, does not arise from focusing but from defocusing.

Returning with the slate wiped clean from a state of not-knowing to the experience of being someone, the relationships you used to stand behind may seem dull, as you need to exploit others to appear special (read more about that here).

As long as the after-effect of a state of not-knowing lasts, which can be from a few seconds to several years, you rely on the brain to produce experiences of being someone in a tangible world – just like you depend on it to make the experiences of you as someone in a dream.

Going along with the experiences as the brain makes them, and not as you think they should be, feels like sleepwalking. It is effortless unless you break the magic of the after-effect and do things your way, which is very stressful. But fortunately, the stress can be used for a new take-off into the empty breath and the bliss of nothing, from where you again return renewed to the conscious experience of being someone.

Each time you return from a state of not-knowing to the belief in being someone definitive and have forgotten the bliss of not believing in being that, the empty breath remembers it for you – also if you only remember the empty breath once in a while. And like it syncs being nobody with being somebody, so you can move around in nothing as if it is something in a state of not-knowing, it also does that in its after-effect. But of course, the ratio is different.

In a state of not-knowing, there is so little consciousness of being somebody that there is nobody to perceive the apparently different experiences to make a difference. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing. In the after-effect, the empty breath syncs the bliss of nothing with the conscious experience of something, so the nothingness is forgotten when you need to be aware of driving a car, for example. In other words, in a state of not-knowing, you are, first of all, nobody, and in the after-effect, you are somebody.

Be aware that there is no will to perceive anything in a particular way in a state of not-knowing. And the transition from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone is not noticed because there was not somebody to be aware of being nobody in a state of not-knowing. Nor do you not know that the bliss of nothing has wiped the slate clean, so your perceptions automatically are generated in sync with the brain’s script. But suppose the happiness this entails feels too basic compared with the vague memories of bliss that eventually pop up from nowhere. In that case, you may twist the brain’s automatically generated perceptions into something special that seems to extend the memories of bliss. Hence, you appear to be more exciting than a servant of the brain. And since the world wants to be fooled, they do not see that this is a show to hide you feel inferior.

Thoughts and feelings may seem distant in a state of not-knowing, but when you return to the consciousness of being someone definitive, they are very close. However, since they no longer are perceived as something but nothing, you enjoy the intimacy of nothing in whatever shape it appears to take. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

To make long short, those making their own perception see the brain as their enemy. Thus they reject the happiness the brain infuses into its creations. And when they fail in making something better, they blame the brain. But those not altering the brain’s automatically generated perception of your reactions to its experiences are receptive to the shots of happiness coming from the brain. Hence they happily play the brain’s game of something, although they know from a state of not-knowing that the game is nothing.

Should you forget that and, therefore, start perceiving the experience of something as real, the frustration this causes can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, so you again have the slate wiped clean and return to the consciousness of being someone synced with the brains fantasy of you as someone substantial in a tangible world.

This does not necessarily mean the slate remains clean. Your conditioned way of reacting to something may be so deeply rooted that you return to a familiar pattern of responding. But, no worries, a quick visit to a state of not-knowing, and you start over again with a clean slate in the brain’s fantasy world of something.

Sooner or later, you feel so entertained by this fantasy that you forget to remember being someone. Thus there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

Notes on ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

It may not always be the experience that the empty breath is your best friend because it does not help you regarding what and where you like to be. It is not easy to explain the transparent flow of bliss that the empty breath entails because it comes from the absence of experiencing being someone.

Connecting with the empty breath, you do not aim to go higher but to fall into the bliss of nothing.

Why is nothing so blissful? Because without something there are no problems!

When connected with the empty breath, what you seem to receive from the world is always the same because you receive what you give and give what you have, namely the indifference of the empty breath.

Feeling the connectedness with the empty breath, you smile regardless you win or not because, in the flow of the empty breath, you are indifferent to becoming and getting more.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To be loved is a need that comes from the perception that differences make a difference. But since the empty breath is indifferent to differences, being loved does not make a difference when connected with it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The function of the empty breath is not to improve the apparent condition of what and where you appear to be. That would be a replacement of one illusion with another. Instead, its function is to facilitate the undoing of the belief that there is more than that which is One.

Being connected with the empty breath, you are indifferent to the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one – just like you are indifferent to the experienced differences in the world of a movie or a computer game because you know they are make-believe.

If something seems to bother you, use the frustration to ignite a take-off into the empty breath so you can see what you judge as something terrible is nothing. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

The empty breath does not know how to heal hay fever or anything else caused by the belief in being someone definitive. But it knows how to undo this belief. And since you get laid-back in that process, new ways of healing your hay fever may pop up. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The empty breath is a life jacket you got from that which is one when you left it to be and have more than one. Of course, this is a metaphor because you have never left oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Yet, it seems possible to imagine not being there but in a world where there seems to be more than one.

This life jacket, the empty breath, loves you unconditionally. Thus it is not bothered by what and where you believe to be. Actually, it does not even know this fantasy. It can only be shared by those who want to be somebody definitive. And the empty breath has no way of being something because it is nothing, thus seeing nothing.

Thus being connected with the empty breath, every experience of something is perceived as nothing. Of course, this does not mean that you do not do anything about a broken leg, for example. But since it is seen as nothing, you do not add worries to your broken leg. Therefore, since changing or transforming something or somebody does not seem appealing, you have a laid-back life with the empty breath.

Taking deep breaths or, in any other way manipulating the breath is not beneficial when connecting with the empty breath because doing so enhances the belief in being someone in charge. The same applies to being centred, balanced, focused or something else.

It is the willingness not to hold back thoughts that connects you with the empty breath. The uncontrolled energy of thoughts ignites a take-off into the empty breath, whether you walk, sit, talk or whatnot. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

Unconfined thoughts or feelings repeatedly shoot off several at a time to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. But you stop them from doing that by defining them, so you can remain in the illusion of being someone definitive.

The more you limit yourself to being someone definitive, the more you feel like you will collapse. To prevent that, you improve your definition until you feel so constrained that you burst into anger or stop giving a shit about holding yourself together. Thus the uncontrolled energy of the suppressed thoughts and feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath. However, it does not help you escape your cage but the belief that you are in it.

What you see on the screen is on a hard disk with nothing but zeros and ones disguised as something. Yet, it is not before the combination of zeros and ones is processed by an app into what appears to be on the screen that the nothingness of the hard disk is experienced as a tangible world that you can change.

The empty breath, which in this context is unprocessed zeros and ones, does not know that you assign special meaning to the nothingness on the screen, which, in this context, is the world, so that you appear to be someone experiencing something instead of emptiness.

All that the empty breath knows is that there is no more than the formlessness of that which is One. Thus all that it wants is to breathe nothing but emptiness into what you believe to be and see so that there does not seem to be something hiding, there never was or will be more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

If the present stream of thoughts or feelings is not manipulated or suppressed, its natural energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. You can make up stories of love or anything else in its presence without feeling deceitful to the empty breath because it sees the world where you believe to be as a blank computer screen. So although the stories you fabricate seem to disclose something, the screen remains empty.

In other words, it does not matter how you perceive the experiences produced by the brain when you are with the empty breath. You do not need the happiness from being in sync with the brain. You are in the bliss of nothing until you define it as something.

No worries, having been with the empty breath for just a split second, the slate is wiped clean. Thus you return to interacting with a world that appears to be outside of you with the perception, it is what it is.’ This perception makes you feel on the beat regardless of how you experience something.

That is until you judge specific experiences as better by not perceiving your reaction to them as ‘it is what it is’ but ‘I know what it is.’ Read more about those perceptions in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy. However, this does not make you feel on the beat because hardly anything goes your way. Fortunately, if not handling this frustration, its untamed energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath.

In this way, you can go back and forth between the conscious experience of something (read more about that here) and the bliss of nothing (read more about that here) until you forget to disconnect from the bliss of nothing. Thus the Enlightenment of that which is One takes over and erases everything that requires more than one. Read more about that in hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

Since that which is One cannot be experienced, it is ignored by those who believe that something unexplainable is unreal. At best, it is imagined as a state of consciousness in which the self is transcended into a higher one. Oneness, however, has nothing to do with being in a state nor being conscious of something because that requires more than one. So does being someone. The empty breath is not about getting better health, more money, success, love or anything else, but seeing what you appear to be and have is nothing. Hence there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

As you probably have read many times in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, it requires more than one to experience something and oneness is formless, thus endless, so every experience is fictional. Obviously, this also includes the experience of the empty breath. It is as unreal as any other experience.

Yet this experience, which is deeply rooted in an archetypical image of a never-ending rhythmic flow, slowly but surely undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Furthermore, it makes it seems unproblematic to have this belief. Not in the sense that you are not troubled by anything but indifferent to it.

If this feels confusing, do not try to get a grip on it. Instead, go with the flow of chaos until you cannot make ends meet into being someone definitive but feel as if you are about to explode, which in a sense also happens when the build-up tensions ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Since it results in a state of not-knowing, you are not bound up with the belief in being someone definitive until you leave this state and return to that belief.

A state of not-knowing does not only come from the empty breath. It is the outcome of all duality hacks. But if the state is always the same cannot be known because nobody is conscious of it.

The changeover to a state of not-knowing may seem unpleasant. This is because the brain tries to distract you from leaving its definable world by producing very tangible and disturbing experiences, making you feel attacked and thus as if you are someone definitive. Following the empty breath, you automatically multitask because it does not know the concept of focusing on something specific. So when you do not feel the empty breath, multitasking will make you feel it.

 

Entering a state of not-knowing (see ‘A state of not-knowing,’ and how to get there) only takes a second. It happens automatically when you have lost all hope of fixing your problems because that makes their uncontrolled energy ignite a take-off into the empty breath. When you leave a state of not-knowing, the slate has been wiped clean (see The after-effect of a state of not-knowing). Therefore, since you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is‘ (see hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy), you have nothing to hope for. Thus, you are free.

When you hike, you need to take a break once in a while from the adventurous experiences. And so you do when in the conscious experience of being someone. Thus you connect with the empty breath to enter a state of not-knowing. And leaving it, you start renewed – or rather re-established – because the slate has been wiped clean.

PREFACE:
Since the bliss of nothing that sets in when connected with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing, it is impossible to connect with it when in the consciousness of being someone definitive. Thus the connection must be established before the brain, based on signals it claims to receive from our sensory system, delivers a convincing experience of being somebody definitive in a world defined by time and space.
 

Science states that the world we believe in feeling and seeing consists of 99.9999999 per cent empty space. And the rest – despite also being empty space consisting of nothing substantial – is what we perceive as elements of matter making up a tangible world where we appear to be somebody definitive. Therefore, regardless what and where you experience in being, it is a mirage.

On account of this taking one second for the brain to accomplish, the connection with the empty breath is established by going back one second from your present experience (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath, and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ). One second ago your present experience was nothing. It had not been processed by the brain into something. Therefore, since there is not something to define you, when you go back one second, there is no difference between your nothingness and the empty breath.

This has nothing to do with getting closer to your pure essence. You have no soul. You are nothing. Being with the empty breath, this becomes obvious. Hence you can go back as nobody in the world of something and have fun pretending to be somebody. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation.

How to connect with the bliss of the empty breath

You connect with the empty breath by not connecting with the consciousness of you as someone definitive experiencing the tangible world that the brain spends a second fabricating from the frequencies it imagines to receive from empty space. You can compare this to not turning on a computer game because you rather want to experience the physical world – except that connecting with the empty breath is not a conscious experience but a state of not-knowing. And you have just a second to connect with the empty breath. Fortunately, it is plenty of time, provided you are willing not to attest to a world of something but be in the bliss of nothing. The empty breath sees no separation, so it has no need to connect with you, no matter what and where you believe to be. But you believe in separation, so you need to connect with it if you want to be indifferent to the belief in being disconnected. See also, You exist nowhere but in dreams, and they are not real.

Forget about being conscious of the empty breath, as what you are conscious about is never the present but the past.

When you connect with the empty breath by going back one second from your present experience to the nothingness from where it was processed into something by the brain, the unprocessed moment is extended into a state of not-knowing. In this state, you do not pick up on the brain’s deceptive fabrication of you as someone living in a capsule of time and space. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

However, this state cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to a conscious experience of being someone definitive. When the experiences of something produced by the brain from signals perceived to come from empty space no longer are confirmed as real by the self, created from the same nothingness, the brain feels abandoned. Thus it falls into a coma.

But if you do not want to appear as a separated being anymore, you do not mind the brain falling apart, so it no longer can map out empty space as if you are someone definitive in a tangible world. Hence there is not something that appears to hide, there never was or will be anything but oneness since it is formless, thus endless.

So regardless you want to remain as someone definitive or not, a state of not-knowing induced by the empty breath is bound to end pretty soon so that the consciousness of being someone definitive can be resumed or tcompletely erased.

No need to worry about having your consciousness totally erased by accidentally staying too long in a state of not-knowing. First of all, hardly anybody comes to the point where the brain starts falling apart, and should you reach that point but long to be someone, fear of survival will set in. This is enough to reboot the brain and bring you back to the experience of being someone definitive, where they forget a state of not-knowing until blissful memories emerge.

Is it the bliss of the empty breath that undoes the belief in being someone definitive, or is it the undoing that connects you with the bliss of the empty breath? But since this question arises from the belief in being someone definitive, an illusion fabricated by the brain, an answer would make the fantasy real. The same applies to asking who has invented this illusion or who chose to undo the belief in being someone. If this could be answered, the illusion would be real. How not to be deceived by the brain’s experiences of something and instead drift in the bliss of nothing cannot be answered. The question is founded on the belief that you are someone definitive, and the bliss of nothing comes from the indifference to that belief.

Neither can it be known if it is the empty breath or being indifferent to the belief in being someone that comes first concerning the sheer bliss of nothing. The only reason somebody wants to know this – or anything else – is that they believe to be defined by what they know and want to remain like that rather than nobody in the bliss of not-knowing.

Thus the above about where to find the transparent bliss of nothing, entailed by the empty breath, is not an attempt to answer the question but to rule it out. The same applies to the below, which further explores the above.

IN THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Even though it only takes the brain a millisecond to register the signals, it imagines receiving from the sensory system this very moment, what you consciously experience right now happened in the past because the brain has used one second more to process those signals into a conscious experience of something it expects you to perceive as real because if not, you are exposed as nothing.

In other words, since your conscious experience of now is a delayed interpretation of nothing that it has taken the brain one second to process, what you believe to read now you read in the past – or more to the point, you never read it because one second ago there did not appear to be something covering up nothing.

When not organising thoughts and feelings into specific categories, they do not seem to represent something in a substantial world. Hence there is nothing to block out the empty breath, that does not know of such a world or that you believe to be someone there. All it knows is the nothingness from which this fantasy has been made, because it is nothing.

As this means you are never in the present but in the past, and as it is nothing, there is nobody there to perceive the apparently different experiences of something to make a difference. Therefore, since they do not establish a world where there seems to be more than one as real, it is exposed as nothing. Consequently, when going back one second in linear time from your present experience, there is not something that seems to separate you from the empty breath.

what you believe to be is the brain

The brain uses five per cent of its capacity to construct a self that, through singled out memories, feelings and imaginations, makes up an exciting story about itself, stored all over the brain as if it is you. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Just five per cent of the brain is used to shape the conscious experience of ourselves as somebody defined by time and space. However, much more space is needed to establish this experience as real. Hence a big part of the brain is continuously occupied with thoughts about ourselves as if they are caused by a tangible world around us, thus seeming to confirm we are somebody in it. It seems that if the brain cannot deceive us into seeing something where there is nothing, it falls into a coma after 20 minutes, 45 at the most. And since all the memories we have selected to back up what we believe in being are stored in the brain, this belief is terminated.

Therefore, if you want to return to the belief in being someone, you cannot stay too long at a time in a state of not-knowing relatively. However, this is not a problem because most leave a state of not-knowing as soon as they enter it. Their urge to be someone definitive is so deep-rooted that it paves the way for the brain to break through a state of not-knowing with images of you as someone becoming and having more and more. Compared to being such an amazing person, being nobody in the transparent bliss of nothing seems uninteresting.

In the bliss of the empty breath you are indifferent to being and having more

The urge to be and have more is the cause of all suffering because more want more, so you will never be or have enough. But this is not a problem when connected with the empty breath, as it is indifferent to differences. Hence you always have enough. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Therefore, a state of not-knowing is left by imagining you are and can do amazing things. However, it is hard work to live up to the expectations of being special, and it seldom results in the excitement you imagined. So one day, you prefer to use your frustration as a take-off into the empty breath (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ), and instead float in the bliss of nothing, that arises from the indifference to the desire of being and having something special.

The flow of the empty breath goes in all directions – up and down, back and forth, from right to left, or anywhere in between – within an irregular circle with no fixed centre or size (see the illustrations in What does the empty breath feel like?). Once having been with the empty breath, it automatically syncs the inward and outward-facing senses, regardless you have left it. Thus the sense of tranquillity in the inward-facing ones helps you get through the sense of turbulence in the outward-facing ones (see The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses).

This does not mean it will seem easier to get a new spouse, more money and whatnot in the world of the outward-facing senses, but it becomes apparent that it makes no difference what you seem to be and have. That which is you is not a limited creature stuck in a capsule of time and space but the formlessness of oneness.

The brain automatically fills in the missing pieces in this image to make you see two triangles. Thus you probably disagree that the grey triangle is an illusion and the one partly framed by a black stroke is disconnected. But if you cover the three incomplete black circles, the grey triangle disappears, and the other one appears fragmented.

Since the brain not only decides what we see but also what we hear, feel, smell and taste, we are not free, but something fabricated and controlled by the brain into believing that we are somebody in a world where there seems to be more than one, and not the formlessness of oneness.

Consequently, there is nothing to heal but the sick belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. This automatically happens when connecting with the empty breath, which takes us back one second in linear time to the nothingness from where the brain has rendered our present experience of something.

This does not mean that the empty breath is the formlessness of oneness because it takes more than one to be something. But, metaphorically speaking, it is the door to that which is One.

now is an illusion fabricated by the brain

When the brain, now and then, screens out what you see so you do not get seasick from the movement of your eyes, it fills the gaps based on memories. But as they most often have been heavily edited, the story fabricated by the brain to fill in the gaps may clash with the story of the present that others have. The discrepancy, therefore, makes you feel that something is wrong with you or the world. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

IN THE WORLD OF SOMETHING
You are probably not aware that now and then, throughout the day, you are blind. This is because the brain screens out what you see to prevent you from getting seasick when the eyes move. You do not notice that you are blind for two hours a day because the brain hides this by filling the gaps with visual impressions of what it imagines to be there.

In the first episodes of a new TV show, there are normally hints pointing to the forthcoming episodes, and since the brain thrives from envisaging what is going to happen next, it is captured into anticipating the future of the characters and thus enchanted by its own predictions into a state of amusement.

The writers of Game of Thrones try to hook you up and fence of the bliss of the empty breath

The writers of ´Game of Thrones´ want us to bond emotionally with the characters, so that we feel attracted to them as if they are real and not just a fantasy. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

But if the writers of the show do not comply with their own hints when inventing the next episodes, the future of the characters does not turn out as predicted by the brain. Thus the fate of the characters becomes a mystery, that the brain hopes to unravel in the following episodes, wherefore it compels you to stick with the show until the very end. In other words, it is not you but the brain that is in charge.

The predictions fabricated by the brain to fill the gaps of blindness are basically a remix of memories that have been adjusted every time they were recalled to boost the story of you as someone in a tangible world. Therefore, since it does not match how others see the same events, you conclude that something is wrong in your story or in others. Hence you start trying to correct what is judged to be incorrect.

The more you appear successful in this, the more it seems that the story can be shaped to come out with a better version of you. Yet, no matter how the story is corrected, it remains a fantasy, and so does the idea that you are the author.

Just like within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, you are not the author of a dream. Neither are you in it nor is the dream in you. It is a deception made to look as if nothing is something.

Fortunately, the brain cannot make the empty breath look like something, so when we are in its bliss of nothing, we are not deceived by the experiences produced by the brain to perceive them as something.

In the bliss of the empty breath the belief in duality is undone

In a state of not-knowing, the brain cannot establish the everyday consciousness of you as someone definitive. However, this does not mean that your awareness as someone definitive is replaced by something better, higher or purer but by no consciousness. Thus, nobody is aware of the bliss of not believing to be someone. That is why it is like air walking in the air. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

WHEN DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES ARE NOT PERCEIVED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In a state of not-knowing, you are blind in a sense that there is no conscious experience of you as someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Thankfully this is resolved by the empty breath and not the brain. The latter continues to process what it claims to receive from the sensory system as if it is something instead of nothing. Still, since the empty breath is indifferent to the apparently different experiences of something, there is no awareness in the connectedness with the empty breath of how the brain categorises them in contrasts of good or bad, right or wrong, love or hate, within and without and so on.

So, although a world where there seems to be more than one looks the same when in a state of not-knowing, its apparent differences are not perceived to make a difference. Therefore, since there is no knowledge of being someone definitive, there is nobody to be happy, sad or anything else. This does not mean that there are no thoughts and feelings but that nobody relates them to them as if they make a difference.

The brain deceives you to fence off the bliss of the empty breath

The problems you perceive to have, do not come from the world where you appear to be but from the belief that you are there. Hence the solution to all problems is the same, namely the undoing of that belief. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

If the body, where you appear to reside, again and again, drops something, you could be defined as clumsy. If you believe this and feel guilty about it, you might want to change it.

But since every effort to improve yourself is based on the belief that there is something wrong with you, your efforts are not changing this belief but enhancing it. You secretly accept this because even though you do not like to be defined as clumsy, it is preferable to not being defined because that means you are nobody.

Yet being nobody, there is not somebody to be clumsy or something else. There is just the bliss of nothing.

In short, the connectedness with the empty breath is simply a way to overlook the apparently different experiences fabricated by the brain so that they are not judged to make a difference. Hence a world where there seems to be more than one does not appear to establish the belief in separation.

Going with the flow of the empty breath is just as easy as going with the flow of sex. The latter though does not result in the undoing of the belief in being someone definitive, unless the orgasm is used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Following the flow of the empty breath is no different from following the flow of the genitals, in the sense that no thinking is needed. The result of being horny, though, is the enhancement of the belief in being someone definitive.

This is not to say that sex should be avoided (see Holding back to not ejaculate is just another physical manifestation – but without the physical thrill of it), because the exclusion of sex or anything else adds to the definition of you as someone definitive. Actually, an orgasm can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, if you do not hold back, but are nothing but orgasmic.

Although the connectedness with the indifference of the empty breath eventually undoes the belief in separation, it also enhances it because it requires more than one to connect with something.

Since nothing appears to make a difference in a state of not-knowing, there is no special place to go or someone special to love. This may feel like being stuck inside an unbreakable armour of pain instead of floating in the bliss of nothing.

However, if not trying to escape this feeling of claustrophobia but being that and nothing else, there is nothing to define you as something. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

The same applies to choosing something. Therefore, to not enhance but have the belief in separation undone, you do not select the empty breath or anything else. And since you are nothing without the choice of something, you are in the flow of the empty breath.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, you cannot experience it in a specific way. Yet, it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thingy,  which top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes this idea. Read more about that here. Hence it is a no-body experience. This does not mean that you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay do it. Thus you want to be disrupted.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border or anything else in a fixed position. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might be felt as if it has a fixed centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

This is not a problem for the empty breath because contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it to be in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it. They are countless and all have two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside them. You cannot see those waves in the simplified illustration to the right but in the second image from here.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean that its edges are blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may get bigger and smaller here and there so that it momentarily feels more pear than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each of the circles inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating, so there are many non-fixed centres.

The innumerable amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundaries of the empty breath is located vertically and horizontally plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang-shaped waves inside them. But the circles are actually fused into one yin-yang-shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most probably do not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of many different movements in their size and shape, everything is fused into one single move. But since this can be hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is most likely easier to experience just one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe it comes in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is all about going with the flow. So if it seems to go the opposite way, by all means, follow it.

The flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that instead goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. But the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you experience a second before the brain processes it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Going with the flow of the circular movement in one of the above circles feels like you are surfing two yin-yang-like waves inside the empty breath. But this is just one way to experience the empty breath. Below is a short introduction to ways of feeling it, then a more detailed description of each of them.

Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below paragraph of the same name) or the indifference of it (see the section The empty breath is not the giver of joy and happiness but indifference in the article The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound (see the below paragraph The transparent sound of the empty breath) or felt inside the body (see the below section The swing of the empty breath), or sensed as if nobody is surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experience the empty breath like that, but to inspire you to go with its flow.

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang-like-looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing the outside of the two yin-yang-like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
In the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right, you see a simplified simulation of the empty breath. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the illustration reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each of the circles inside it contains two non-definitive waves that you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without the holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body.

In the above intro to the empty breath, there is a more detailed explanation of how the circles containing the waves are arranged. As mentioned there, the circle can be smaller and bigger, and the direction does not matter. And besides surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere in between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is to follow the flow as it comes to you. Doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways may be revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate the body with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to feel something. Thus the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about the past or feel pain in the back, you can get a massage by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you and leaving out the wave in front of you in a vertical circle.

Should you want to be grounded, you surf the full horizontal wave in the lower half of a vertical circle passing through the abdomen or even lower in the direction from the back to the front of you. You could also choose the bottom wave in a vertical circle going from the left to the right side of you – or the wave in the lower half in one or more circles between the two others mentioned. No reason to memorise this. Just go with the flow.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive or deliberate. In that case, you respectively surf all the way around the wave to the right and the left inside a horizontal circle going around the head. In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around the wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling in the chest caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves but only on the side aligned with a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Should you have tight hips, blocked abdomen or spasm in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The size of the circle, thus the waves, adjust to the need for relaxing these areas. Should this release sadness, you may feel like crying. If so, forget about the empty breath and take the time to grieve. Then return to the same circle of the empty breath if that is what the flow calls for.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts of it into a position that benefits the whole. In such case, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

It may call for surfing another combination of other waves, for example the whole wave in front of you in a horizontal circle going around the abdomen and a complete wave in front of you in a vertical circle from the head to the stomach or the other way. Maybe surfing them simultaneously or whatever seems beneficial regarding getting through the problematic areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust it gives you what is in your best interest.

You cannot illustrate the inner breath, as it has no definitive form. This animation, however, may give you an idea about the ´structure´ of the inner breath and the high frequency of its inner movement, which seems to originate from an yin yang like curved line – not just as curved though. It feels like, it is the swing of this floating line that expands and contracts the body, so that it breathes in and out. Unlike an yin yang sign the inner breath is not a flat circle with a curved line, but rather a ball wherein the curved line swings upwards and downwards as well as sideways, forwards and backwards and everything in between. Unfortunately the animation is not able illustrate that, neither how slow the swing of it actually feels in the body. Even though it extremely active inside the ball, the experience of it is that it has all the time in the world to expand and contract the body.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. However, this animation may give you an idea about how the swing of it feels like it comes from the blurred curved line between the two shapes of a yin-yang sign – but less curved. The swing of this line expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. But unlike in a yin-yang sign, the swing of the empty breath is not inside a flat circle but a non-definable ball, in which there are many similar circles with each their curved line. Depending on where one of these circles is experienced to be located, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to swing upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. Unfortunately, the animation is not really illustrating this. Although the swing of it is magnificent, its experience often is that it is very laid-back in expanding and contracting the body.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
What is said above about surfing the empty breath generally also applies to feeling the swing of it, except that this is solely felt inside the body. There the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves is sensed as a swing that extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line in between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath may seem to expand and contract the body slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. Maybe the break in between expansion and contraction also feels too long. But the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that at first, it feels like the body does not have enough room for it.

Surfing the empty breath is done on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas the swing of it is the movement of the curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves in any of the circles.

In other words, the curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. Breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath in the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out, in the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the whole curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in control. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, the fusion of them at first feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still – see the third image from here – that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation, but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain sparkling with joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if you are surfing yin-yang-like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling of it is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits and where you are not defined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to this aspect of it – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, this force is sensed inside and outside the body. It is often easier to feel its subtle but erratic energy outside of the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. If you do not try to catch its abstractness but go with its fleetness, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

Sensing the operator of the empty breath outside of the body, you will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. From there you probably are transferred to the rhythmic flow of surfing or feeling the swing of the empty breath.

The apparent chaos at the root of the empty breath, where the operator of it resides and where you often land after igniting the empty breath, is therefore a good starting point, when you want to be in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

If you, out of habit, try to focus on the empty breath to hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph) or feel its rhythmic flow, you are bound to perceive it as something and thus fence it off. A more beneficial way to approach the rhythmic flow and transparent sound of the empty breath is to start in the chaos of its root – whether sensed in front or back of the body, on top of it or all around it – because that leaves nothing specifically for you to focus on, wherefore there is not something definitive blocking out hearing or feeling the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands the body and ‘ham’ when it contracts it.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, the sound does not seem to have a definable location, so it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body like it has nothing to do with the body.

And as that is actually so, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience like feeling the rhythm of the bass because it cancels out the feeling of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. A sofa, for example, does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it.

This is because you do not perceive bodily experience as specific when you are deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Thus there is no inside and outside and nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it becomes evident that it is unreal. But like the reality in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, the reality of a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being someone in such a world is all pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience this as visions of light, and the auditory-minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional-minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness. The glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One are revealed as the Enlightenment of that which is One if not interpreted to differ from each other. The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius does not make a difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody really knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. The empty breath is not only to be experienced within its border, because it has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive, as only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may have different memories from those of Alexius.

If still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you better read about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely, you feel the empty breath one way or another. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, you miss the empty breath.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. And you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

This is not to say that techniques cannot be helpful with toning down the experience of you as someone definitive so that the apparent existence of you in a tangible world does not seem to be a fact but make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like a remote control have nothing to do with the music, it triggers.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

How to ignite a take-off into ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

When not trying to make sense of this image but going with its absurdity, the free-flowing energy of the experience spontaneously ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its bliss of emptiness, provided there is a willingness to forget what you believe in being. As soon as you have had enough of the frustration coming from keeping together a fantastic image of yourself and you do not try to edit or transform your feeling of desperation, the raw energy automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath. Since it resides in nothing and your current experience of something is processed by the brain from what it imagined seeing in nothing one second ago (read more about that here), the take-off into the empty breath only takes one second.

In other words, when you connect with the empty breath, you go one second back in linear time to the nothingness the brain twisted into your present experience of something. But perceiving that with the empty breath, it is not seen as something, thus not confirming you as someone. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing.

In linear time, it may take a few more seconds, or many years, before there is nothing but the bliss of emptiness because out of reflex, you probably force the physical breath through the tensions in the body instead of going with the flow of the empty breath. It probably feels like the empty breath is an intruder you fight off with the physical breath.

However, this fight is make-believe. The empty breath does not see you as someone made of solid elements but of emptiness like itself. So when you stop fighting nothing, the empty breath passes what you believe is something problematic in the body as nothing. In other words, when going with the empty breath, you do not have to push your way through obstacles in the body or avoid them because the empty breath does not perceive them as something.

Nevertheless, the function of the empty breath is not to heal the body but the sick belief that there is someone in it. So although it may heal the painful areas of the body where they were made, namely nowhere, it is not the priority of the empty breath. This does not mean that the body should not be taken care of while you believe to be someone but that it is a physical matter, which the body can manage itself in many cases. It may at first feel like the empty breath sets off from an engine in the gut or the chest as it is an inner breath that slowly pumps air from there to extract the body (read more about that here). Hereafter it returns to the engine which seems to take its time before it pumps out air again, unaware of being inside and outside.

What you believe in being is nothing twisted by the brain into someone experiencing something. In the presence of the empty breath, which is nothing not been processed into something, you become indifferent to the experience of something, wherefore there is not something specific to define you as someone definitive. Despite the empty breath being nothing, it is experienced like something in a world where everything is expected to be felt. You might experience it like having fun surfing yin-yang like waves in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath or being everywhere and nowhere in the sound of it, or joyfully moving with the swing of it, or being still in the abstractness behind its rhythmic flow. Although it may have been unedited speed and chaos that connected you with the empty breath, it is not a speedy or chaotic affair being connected. Instead, it is like you weightlessly walk on clouds. Think of being high up in the sky in an aeroplane. Although speed ignites the take-off and must be maintained to keep you in the air, it is not the speed you feel there but a relaxed experience of flying in clouds.

Regarding speed, whether connected with the empty breath or not, we are always moving extremely fast because the Earth, thus also us, is spinning at 1.000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. But having a static perception of ourselves, we do not feel the thrill of this, whereas having a perception in sync with the brain (read more about that here), we feel the speed and can use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

However, the ways described in this article and the other ones in hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing are generally not geared for a self in sync with the brain but one out of sync. Most are drawn in by the excitement they imagine getting from doing things their special way.

Even though the result is frustration and not the relaxation coming from being in sync with the brain, they insist on their way because in a world where being special, bitchy and having something extraordinary is the standard, being independent of the brain seems to be their only chance of becoming important. Thus hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is mostly about using stress and speedy thoughts for take-off into the empty breath.

Let us imagine, you have covered your eyes with your hand, so you can indulge in daydreaming aboutbeing in a world that revolves around you without being disturbed by the world outside of you. Though it feels great to be in a fantasy where everything turns out the way you want, it also feels strange to be cut off from the actual world.

So when you want to see the world as it is and not as you imagine it could be, and you sense it is your own hand that stops you from doing so, you automatically remove it. In other words, the built-up frustration of not seeing what is real and the realisation that your own hand hides it, makes you remove your hand so you can see the world as it is.

You may not only sense the bare feet that have made the footprints in this photo but also the body they belong to. Yet there is no feet or entity in the image, and nobody makes footprints like those. HAVING HAD ENOUGH IGNITES A TAKE-OFF INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
The process in the above box resembles the way a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. The perception of your experiences as something hides they are a fantasy made from nothing. This perception, which is to be compared to the hand in the above box, is made from selected thoughts organised into a spiritual or mundane vocabulary that you share with like-minded ones to confirm each other as real and not a fantasy of the brain. When you have had enough of the confusion that comes from this misperception, you loosen the grip on the selected thoughts, making it up. Thus you start to see that being someone is a daydream. When you are fed up with living a fantasy, your frustration ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, you are still in the world of something. However, the experiences of something are perceived as nothing. Therefore, since you are not attributed with a specific meaning, you are in a state of not-knowing.

The empty breath cannot be experienced as something definitive because it resides in the nothingness unprocessed by the brain. Hence you do not notice it if you want to experience something specific.

Thus there is no awareness of the bliss that comes from being nobody. But memories of it pop up when you return to the experience of being somebody. This you must do at the latest 20 minutes, 45 at most, after entering a state of not-knowing if you want to be able to go on in the world of something. Read more about that here. Returning from nothing to something, the slate is wiped clean, so even though it feels like you had a unique experience, you are nothing special. Instead, you are the basic self you always were supposed to be. Thus you feel happy.

The connectedness with the empty breath does not come from meditating, chanting, or any other self-control technique because control enhances the belief in being someone definitive. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since this happiness does not come from something in particular but from being in sync with the brain (see hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one), there is no need to always perceive an experience as something specific. Thus, now and then, there does not appear to be something to hide the bliss of nothing. In other words, you automatically go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone. See To be nobody and yet somebody.

Are you confused about how to connect with the empty breath? If so, do not try to clear up the turmoil but go with its unedited energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. In the previous or following articles of hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing, you can read more about that. But be aware that you will never get to know how to connect with the empty breath. It is not something but nothing, and you cannot learn how to connect with nothing. But if you forget what and where you appear to be, you do not need to connect because then there does not appear to be something hiding that you are nothing.

THE PURPOSE OF ALEXIUS’ DUALITY HACKS
There is no reason to diligently learn all the duality hacks for undoing the belief in being someone definitive. None of them is a goal in themselves – nor do they lead to the target. There is no destination because you are already there.

Hence the purpose of applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to return to that which is One but to expose the belief that seems to hide it, namely that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

Notes on ‘the duality flow’ [draft]

When your attitude to something is single-minded, you get a specific peak experience. But this does not go on for long because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Thus being at the top is soon replaced by being at the bottom. On the other hand, if your approach to something is dualistic, you do not head specifically for the top but the constant interplay of the highest and the lowest. Thus you are the duality flow, which may not be as exciting an experience as solely being at the top. However, it continues to amuse you.

The duality flow does not depend on the specific elements in a duality pair but on the resilient energy between them – like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You either breathe in or out. One excludes the other. Yet, they pave the way for one another. That is the way of the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you feel you have nowhere to go and do not perceive it as a singular state of mind but a dualistic one containing nowhere and everywhere to go, you are in the duality flow. The same applies if you go with the interplay of irritation and relaxation. But the duality flow is not about the opposing elements in the duality pairs but their interaction. That is what makes you feel complete – just like it is the interplay of breathing in and out that makes you feel alive.

And like the opposing elements in the breath depend on each other, so do the components in other duality pairs. Thus you can only feel positive when contrasted with negativity. So if you are not in the constant interplay of positivity and negativity, what you believe in feeling when you claim to be positive is a concept conjured up by distancing yourself from negativity via meditation, for example. This is like separating yourself from either breathing in or out. You need them both to survive.

To make long short, the solution to everything in a world of duality is to keep the duality pairs intact so that the duality flow can vitalise you.

You do not have to choose between good and evil in the duality flow. They compliment each other. Therefore, since one is not better than the other, there is nothing to judge, thus not something to establish fear as a specific feeling. Instead, you feel it is interacting trust.

Being in the duality flow, you forget about what you used to be. It was based on single-minded concepts, and you are not someone specific in the duality flow but relative to the constant movement between opposites. See also The basic self is relative to the brain, thus without egoistic intentions.

Everything comes in pairs of opposing components that lean on each other in a world of duality. Thus splitting them into independent elements to hold onto just one of them is impossible. Yet, it is possible to imagine you can get rid of your negativity by projecting it onto others to appear solely positive yourself. However, since this mental stance is achieved by repressing part of yourself, you feel sluggish. On the other hand, following the duality flow brings about energy because the constant interaction of opposing elements is the natural state of duality.

If you are into being and having the best, the duality flow experience may be a continuous movement between the best and the worst. Should you want to be spiritual, the motion is most likely between that and materialism. The duality flow could also go between hope and hopelessness or between whatever you hold dear and what you fear.

Since the perception ‘it is what it is’ reveals that every experience is twofold and you are in a world of duality, it brings about completeness. However, as everything comes in pairs, completeness is coupled with incompleteness. No worries, you are neither whole nor fragmented but in the constant motion between these opposites – just like when one end of a see-saw goes up, the other goes down.

When someone is hurt in a movie you watch, you may also feel pain and relief when the problem is fixed. But since the film is not perceived as real, it seems entertaining to participate in its ups and downs. This is how it is to be connected with the empty breath.

Having established ‘it is what it is’ as your default perception, you are always in the togetherness of the duality flow, thus feeling plentiful instead of needy when separating the duality pairs into separate components.

The satisfaction you get from being in the duality flow is not like what you get from something perceived as specific. This is because you are always afraid of losing that, whereas it is impossible to lose the duality flow.

Since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, there is no sense in searching for something specific. This is such a relief.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you want the satisfaction of the duality flow, it is essential not to focus on anything specific. The same applies if you wish to undo the belief in duality. Therefore, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ cancels out anything specific, you kill two birds with one stone by applying it.

None of the opposing elements in the duality pairs is essential. Instead, their interaction matters because it constitutes the duality flow. You will follow it when you are tired of feeling incomplete.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A long time ago, Alexius conditioned himself to hide his sorrow behind justified anger and disgust. That changed when he did not try to hide or rationalise his grief but perceived his reaction to it as ‘it is what it is,’ Then, he sensed that a little boy was floating on waves of sweet nectar inside his sorrow.

Therefore, since he saw sorrow was paired with mellowness, he did not try to fence off the grief anymore to feel good. Actually, sadness automatically triggers the happiness inside it. Hence being in the interaction of happiness and sadness became his basic experience of the duality flow.

Importance is a single-minded notion that has been separated from its counterpart. Hence it brings about loneliness. But in the duality flow, importance interacts with unimportance. Thus you get togetherness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling good is not a matter of making the body relax but how you perceive your reaction to its condition. For example, if your response is irritation, you assume your body is its source. But you cannot improve anything in the body so as not to feel disturbed because the problem is in your perception. This does not mean you instantly feel relaxed if you perceive your reaction to the body’s condition as ‘it is what it is,’ but you see relaxation is coupled with unhappiness. Hence you feel relaxed if you stand by your irritation instead of blaming the body for it.

Having followed the duality flow for some time, the specific state of mind you used to conjure up to feel at ease is forever out of reach. Now everything is seen as twofold. What this means, you do not know. Nor do you care because you feel complete by the constant interaction of opposites. Hence there is no need for a specific state of mind or perspective to escape feeling disturbed.

In the duality flow, you feel complete, so although you may seem as clumsy as ever, it does not make you feel wrong.

If you succeed in letting go of your hatred, you also get rid of the ability to feel love because everything comes in pairs of opposing elements that define each other. Hate defines love and vice versa, so you cannot have one without the other.

Therefore, to quickly get back the love you have discarded by projecting your hate onto others, you perceive ‘their’ hate as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals it is coupled with love. Your response to something is not singular but twofold when you are in the duality flow. Therefore, since nothing is considered distinctly right or wrong, nothing is seen as problematic. But since most people are identified with their problems, they hang onto them by maintaining their conditioned views of right and wrong, although it makes them feel imprisoned. However, they can have their problems and still feel free if they do not judge them as precisely right or wrong but instead go with the interaction of right and wrong. For example, if you appear to be clumsy and do not judge that to be right or wrong, you have your problem, but it is not problematic.

Being intuitive, you do not try to interfere with the brain. Thus you are in the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

We usually do not think about how to digest the food we eat because it happens by itself. You do not even have to plan to prepare a meal when in the duality flow.* It may not occur, though, in the systematised way you were used to but in the spontaneous way of nature. It does not plant seeds in rows to get the most in return but enthusiastically throws them everywhere to see what happens. Nor does it build something totalitarian, such as Bauhaus or construct a meal in a categorical style like Nordic. To make long short, following the duality flow** is never definitive.

Therefore, although preparing dinner seems more unpredictable, you can count on having fun because your experience is in sync with the present moment. But if you repeat the same procedure another day, it will not feel like a comedy. Every day is a new surprise. That said, there may be a period of transition where you try to hold onto your old single-minded perceptions of how to cook. When it does not work, thus triggering old feelings of despair, you are about to cry.

The solution is not to stop the discomfort but to stand by it, so the definitive meaning you have decided it has can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, it makes you feel complete. Eventually, so much that you realise you are nothing but appearance. Hence there does not seem to be someone to hide that non-duality is all there is and always was.

That said, you neither have to plan your dinner yourself when not in the duality flow because the brain is always in charge. If the making of the dinner seemed to go according to your plan, it is because you, in retrospect, interpreted it, so it turned out as hoped for. Just like you shape a chaotic dream with words like patterns, displacement activity, unity, synchronicity and karma so it seems consistent with your point of view. However, editing your experiences is exhausting, and it makes you feel incomplete. But going with them as they are is effortless, you feel complete because you gry the interaction of opposites, thus the duality flow.

The opposing elements in the duality pairs you encounter are equally valued in the duality flow. Thus it is probably the closest you get to being singular in a world of duality. At first, it may seem confusing to be in the duality flow. It is like having vertigo. But, fortunately, without the visions of the world spinning around you. Inside you, there is constant movement between opposites. Thus nothing definitive you can use to navigate your way in the world. No worries. There never was. It was just something you made up to feel in control. Now you know that was a lie. Hence you are free to go with the duality flow.

But getting to this point may be difficult for those who consider themselves spiritual. They often hide their feelings in an attempt to appear detached. But if you do not feel your emotions, they cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Hence they remain as specific feelings in the dark, and you go on in the benumbed state that

In the constant interaction of opposites, making up the duality flow, it is equally entertaining to be somebody as nobody.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Alexius’ Duality Hacks logically concludes that since it takes more than one to have a shape, oneness is formless, thus endless. Consequently, there is no more than that which is One. But since it takes more than one to read this, you believe it is possible to be and have more than one.

No worries, continuing as if you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, you honour your choice to believe it is possible to be and have more than one. Hence you are in a position to undo it. If you do that by bidding welcome the enlightenment of that which is One, the undoing does not occur gradually but straight away without warning (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One).

But since the temporal length of an event is an illusion, you may take your time and begin following the duality flow so you can enjoy appearing to be and have more than one until this experience, like anything else that has a beginning, ends without any effort of yours.


*) This is not to say that you never need to think ahead to get something done. But thoughts for that come automatically when you are in the duality flow.

**) Actually, preparing something is not more unpredictable when following the duality flow. It only seems so because when not in the duality flow, you cut off everything from your awareness that does not confirm you are in control.

Notes on perceptions [draft]

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

When you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the brain’s script. But if you start to analyse your response and conclude, ‘I know what it is,’ you are not in sync. However, you cannot know anything because you do not know what you are, nor ever will, since you are a fantasy of the brain. Read about the brain’s script in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

There is no meaning in your experiences, nor are they yours. It is an illusion created by the brain, which generates all experiences to make the self that it has fabricated believe it sees, hears, feels and tastes something outside of itself. It is easy to deceive the self into believing this because if not, there is nothing to confirm its existence.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences you believe in having will continue as scripted by the brain, regardless of how you perceive them. But since the brain loves you and thus injects you with shots of happiness, it is in your own best interest your perception is in sync with the brain because otherwise, you do not notice the shots.

If you want a break from the brain, you perceive the experiences it produces as ‘dunno what it is.’ Hence you enter into a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. However, this does not mean the brain’s script changes but that you are indifferent to it because there is no need to be confirmed as somebody.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The more you perceive your responses to your experiences as ‘it is what it is,’ the more carefree you feel. Perhaps so much that your perception automatically changes to ‘dunno what it is,’ which may bring about glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. You do not have to use the same phrases for the perceptions mentioned in HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end to participate in the game of duality, deny it, take a break, or totally forget it. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ As long as the essence is alike, the perception works the same. That said, the perception ‘I know what it is’ only works in the sense that it makes you feel special. You are still what and where the brain wants you to be, which you do not try to change when you go with the perception, ‘it is what it is.’

You leave the brain’s script by choosing the perception ’dunno what it is,’ you leave the brain’s script. Not in a sense that you are not what and where the brain has planned, but you do not perceive your experience of it as something because you are in the bliss of nothing.

To uphold the perception ‘I know what it is,’ you got to suppress your actual response to an experience. Still, it never works as intended because you are not all-seeing and knowing. The two other perceptions do not involve denial. On the contrary, your response to something cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is’ or ‘dunno what it is’ if you deny your reaction. Yet, they do not work if you intend to get something over and done.

However, this can be solved by perceiving the response to your plan as ‘it is what it is.’ It flushes out any idea of achieving something specific. On the other hand, if your response is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ there is not something to accomplish because you are in the bliss of nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Do not hide your reaction to something by making a story in which you are unimpressed or detached. Instead, feel your response, so you can decide what it means and perceive that as ‘it is what is.’ This expands the interpretation of your reaction, so it is not limited to you being angry, for example, but complemented with being calm. Since twofoldness makes you feel fulfilled, you have no urge to uphold a single-minded image of yourself. Thus, sooner or later, you forget what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One has been waiting for. When your reaction to something is sadness, and it is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you also get happiness. First of all, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. But also, if something has not made you happy at some point, it cannot make you sad. For example, when your cat dies, your sadness is related to the happiness you felt when it was alive.

Should you, instead, make the perception ‘I know what it is,’ when your cat dies and what you believe to know is this is sad, you must exclude gladness to prove you are exclusively sad. But without gladness, sadness cannot be defined. Therefore, since what you believe in knowing to feel is a thought-up concept of sadness, it is fake.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Just like the twofoldness of breathing in and out makes you feel alive, you feel fulfilled when psychological duality pairs, such as love and hate, dynamically interact. However, since this interaction takes away the sense of control, most choose to separate hate from love by projecting romanticised love onto one person and iron-fisted hate onto another. Insisting on this division, they miss the joy of togetherness because it does not come from a singular but dualistic feeling.

But they get that joy when the meaning they have assigned to hatred is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ For example, if they have classified hate as weakness, this perception reveals it is paired with strength. And this polarity, like any other, brings about the joy of togetherness. Thus there is no need to project a pleasant image of love or an unpleasant one of hate onto others. Consequently, others are free from the conceptual way you used to look at them.

A feeling can only be known when explained. And since that makes it mental, you are benumbed when your perception is ‘I know what it is,’ To make up for that, you indulge in stories of a better future.

To perceive anything as ‘I know what it is’ is as crazy as thinking you know where you are in a dream. You are nowhere but in your bed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In a computer game, everything is predetermined. No matter what you choose to do, the subsequent events are prearranged, likewise in a world of duality. You can choose between different stories going on inside your head. But regardless of which one you settle for, it carries on as scripted by the brain. You cannot change that. However, you are free to perceive your reaction to it as you see fit.

If your perception is that ‘it is what it is,’ it is experienced as two-fold. And since you are in a world of duality, you feel unified with it. But if you perceive your reaction as I know what it is,’ it is seen as singular, thus separated from duality. Hence you do not feel together but alone. Unfortunately, most think the solution to this is to get rid of duality.

Yet, it is the other way around. Playing the game of duality, you confirm non-duality because it is formless, thus endless, so there is no other reason for the experience of duality. Thus you feel connected.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always makes an explanation that seems to confirm the perception ‘I know what it is.’ This enhances its conditioned view of the world and the fear of being wrong. But if you do not try to explain anything, you never need to correct or deny something to maintain you are right. Since ‘It is what it is,’ you have nothing to worry about.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you do not identify yourself as definitive but relative to the present moment, there is no need to make specific opinions to confirm you are someone definitive. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you do not feel complete, you have been messing with the duality pairs by perceiving their opposing parts as items independent of each other. Since that is your choice, you can undo it to feel complete. Read more about choosing in hack #2.2 Choosing or not. Having done that a few times, you establish every moment is the perfect moment regardless of what and where you appear to be. In other words, if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you do not wait for a better moment. This one is perfect as it is.

As that means you never wait for something better, the continuation of duality, eventually, comes to an end. Hence it does not appear to be hiding, there never was or will be anything but non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular, therefore cut off from their complementary part, you appear to judge yourself and others as incomplete. Consequently, you get the urge to improve something to feel complete.

Yet nobody but yourself has made the single-minded comments about what is right and wrong that seem to establish what one can do. Fortunately, these rules do not need to be identified to set yourself and others free from your confinement. Instead, you perceive your present comment about somebody as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. Perhaps you do not catch the elements of this duality pair because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh, while new duality pairs, like waves in the ocean, hastily but without haste, wash away your narrow-minded opinions.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The perception ‘dunno what it is’ surpasses duality rapidly, wherefore you enter a state of not-knowing. The same applies to being inclusive (hack #3.2 Inclusiveness is freedom). But surpassing duality, you cannot last as someone in a world of duality for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most. So if you go on in such a world while gently undoing the belief you are there, better go with the duality flow, which is revealed by the perception ‘it is what it is.’ See this hack. You could also jump into a perfect moment (see hack #3.1 Every moment is the perfect moment). Or apply hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life.

These three hacks, like the perception it is what it is,are based on the acknowledgement of duality, so, contrary to a state of not knowing, they do not surpass it until you have applied them for so long that you do not remember what and where you appear to be.

Alexius’ childhood [rough draft]

During childhood, we learn to alter our emotions, thus being the nice kid who never say or do anything that will make our parents unconfortable. Read more about pleasing your parents here. But everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. Therefore, since feelings never show up in a specific but dualistic way, you mess up duality by suppressing the unpleasant ones. This makes you feel disconnected, whereas going with the twofoldness of emotions, love and hate for example, makes you feel connected. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article is a continuation of ‘What if…?’ versus ‘it is what it is’. Hence it is about the perception ‘it is what it is,’ which reveals that every experience is dual. This is is so entertaining that, eventuality, you forget about duality.

Our present perception of ourselves and others is often based on one we made in the past. In the case of Alexius, in his childhood, he interpreted lots of experiences in a way that made him scared. To get rid of his fear, he projected it onto something outside of himself that he judged as horrible.

Later on, this method became his way of disassociating himself from his unpleasant feelings. Apart from making him feel better, deciding what was wrong in the world made him feel like being on top of it. Especially, because he also got rid of his affectionate feelings in the same manner. In this case, though, he projected them onto something he decided to see as wonderful.

This seemed to work great, except when Alexius felt so bothered by something that his suppressed fear flared out in verbal attacks on others. Although his emotional explosion was not physically violent, his outbursts seemed as wild as when his father in Alexius’ childhood hit him across the dinner table or wherever he lost his temper. Since Alexius assumed this happened because he was unlovable, his original devotion and admiration for his father turned into hatred and disgust, which Alexius justified by constantly finding flaws in his father.

But since doing so, psychological speaking was an attack on his father, Alexius felt ashamed he was just as hostile as his father. Thus he right away hid his hostility from his awareness by projecting it onto his stomach. And then he unconsciously tightened the shoulders to hinder the breath from fully extracting, thus blocking the free flow of info from the body to the brain. Hence he could interpret the body’s signals as attacks on himself, thereby justifying his grievances.

Another reason for distancing himself from his aggression was that if Alexius had stood by it, he may have hit his father, which was all his father needed to burst out in a rage so violent that it could have been the end of Alexius. Therefore, the only defence Alexius had was silence. On top of that, Alexius tried to look like a victim by getting moody and sick to make his father feel guilty for how he treated him (read more about making others feel guilty here).

However, this did not seem to work on his father – only on Alexius because unconsciously, he knew they were the same. They both used each other as a scapegoat for their inner demon. In Alexius’ case, he first tried to hide it from his awareness by projecting it onto the darkness of the body, and when the suppressed energy exploded, he projected the unpleasantness onto his father. Since this is the most common way to get rid of psychological feelings, his father probably did it the same way. But this Alexius cannot know.

Be aware that this story of Alexius’ childhood in is a very short version. So if progress seems to be quick, it is not so. There probably was no progress before Alexius, about 20 years old, bid the Enlightenment of that which is One welcome. But even after that, it took a long time because the Enlightenment of that which is One has no effect as that requires more than one. However, progress was effortless. Nor can he know if his description of his childhood is correct because it is done in retrospect. Besides, he is neither a physician nor a psychologist.* However, it seems he used the physical problems that arose from his congenital disability in the vertebrae to disguise his aggression and the events that appeared to have caused it in his childhood.

Since the malfunctioning vertebra pressed on a nerve going to the stomach, it was easy for him to use his bloated stomach as a hiding place for the shame he felt for being exploited by his mother. She used Alexius when he was petite and adorable as an object to give her the bodily affection his father could not provide her. Due to Alexius’ bloated stomach, the diaphragm hardened. And since it is the primary mover of the breath, his chest turned to stone. Thus it seemed the obvious place to hide his naivety and devotion, so his natural generosity would not cause him to be preyed on in the future.

Alexius grew up in a war zone, in the sense that his father suddenly hit him. His mother did nothing to stop it, so he felt terrified and completely alone. In an attempt to disassociate himself from the feelings of horror, Alexius decided to see his father as evil and himself as good. By disassociating himself from being evil, he also separated himself from being lovely because that is defined by evil. Thus he looked for something beautiful outside of himself. But that was difficult. Mostly he judged what he saw as horrible. Alexius finally realised that the reason for this was the suppressed darkness inside himself. Fortunately, not suppressing it revealed there was also lightness because light and darkness are like two sides of the same coin in a world of duality. This polarity, and those that naturally followed, made him feel complete. Hence there was no fear of feeling evil and thus no need to hide it by perceiving the world as horrible. Consequently, the apparent difference between himself and the world he used to judge as either horrific or beautiful stopped making a difference. Maybe that is why he writes Alexius´ Duality Hacks. However, since Alexius did not feel cherished with his compassion locked down, he concluded others would only love him if he gave them what they wanted. This seemed to be an unsolvable dilemma, so instead of saying no to others, Alexius walked away, closing down his gift of empathy. But that was probably for the best for a kid because otherwise, others would have exploited him entirely.

But let us delve further into Alexius’ relationship with his father, who he perceived as the devil responsible for the evil he experienced in himself. Since Alexius did not want to realise it was his own shit he saw in his father, he hid his inner demon in the neck that had collapsed due to the malfunctioning vertebra.

Therefore, since the beast inside had been blocked from his awareness, he could hold onto a mental concept of himself as guiltless. He did not choose that because he could not embrace his darkness, but because Alexius thought he had to be above reproach to be loved by his parents. But as his parents only loved the image he had made, he felt lonely and complained about not being seen.

He repressed he had chosen to hide behind a false front of being lovesome by hiding what he assumed unlovable in problematic areas of his body. So when hatred popped, he interpreted the disturbance as a physical issue in the part of the body where he initially imagined hiding his hate. Therefore, since the resulting psychosomatic disorders became an unsolvable mystery, the helpless little boy full of sorrow, rage and fear remained hidden in the darkness of Alexius’ body. You cannot appear in the world without pretending to be a person there. But the more you add to this pretending, the more you end up believing that you are what you pretend to be instead of that which is real. It happens to all of us. In the case of Alexius, it started when he was about six years old. Undoing it began 15 years later when he stepped aside to bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

When you do not try to hide sexual lust, grievances, envy, anger, negativity or whatever you consider politically incorrect, your thoughts and feelings regarding this are revealed to come in pairs. Negative thoughts, for example, come paired with positive ones. You already know this because again and again, one part of you senses something as good and right away, another part sees it as bad. If you do not try to decide between them but join their interplay, you feel as entertained by this polarity as any other. But after he became one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One about 50 years ago (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One), his single-minded perception of being either horrible or wonderful was revealed as two-fold. Out of the inner unpleasantness came pleasantness and vice versa. He did not hold onto the specific feelings in this polarity but their interplay. It made him feel complete and not fragmented, like when he insisted on dividing a duality pair into separated elements

The higher you aim, the lower you must prepare to go because, in a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements.

Going with the constant interaction of opposites, which 50 years later was entitled the duality flow, he had no singular feelings to hide. Thus there was no basis for concealing psychological problems in his body anymore. Therefore, since his psychosomatic disorders were reduced to physical issues, they could be fixed physically. Maybe not entirely, but at least to the extent that the experience of being someone inside a body became more comfortable. Read more about that in Sadness is a close friend of gladness.

Nevertheless, out of habit, his old single-minded point of view is often the first choice when he is confronted with something new. But right away, he remembers that everything comes in pairs of opposing elements that define each other in a world of duality. Then, as from an invisible crack in his conditioned feeling of disgust, a sense of delight unfolds.

He may not notice that the interaction of this polarity soon fades out because it sets off the experience of other duality pairs, for example, humility and boldness, serenity and lust, calmness and confusion, union and separation, and so on. This is so satisfactory that he does not sense when the interplay of one polarity is over and another sets off. The beginning and end are another interaction of opposites that makes him feel complete.

Not trying to control the future, thoughts become unimportant. Hence they turn into insignificant noise in the background. Read more about that here.

Nor does Alexius usually remember the names of opposing elements in the duality pairs he encounters. Going with the interaction of opposites, duality does not have to be labelled (read more about that here) – like one does not need to label the sides of a coin to sense its twofoldness. Thus thoughts are reduced to insignificant jabber in the background. See also Happiness comes from not interfering with thoughts and emotions, whereas sadness comes from trying to do that.

In a world of duality, a holistic experience is not singular but dualistic. In non-duality there is no wholemness to experience, as it takes more than one to be aware of something.

In other words, even though the experience of duality is imaginary (read more about that here), within the apparent reality of it, you feel incomplete if you separate the opposing elements making up the duality pairs. And you feel complete when you go with their interaction – just like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you fulfilled. That is if you do not try to break off this flow of duality by dividing the breath into specific sections via yoga exercises, for example.

You do not have to be someone who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One to feel completed by dualism. All you need is to perceive your specific opinion of something as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals it is twofold – for example happy/sad or angry/calm – so you get the satisfaction of duality. Bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One is a bit like getting to the point of orgasm. Nothing else matters. But whereas an orgasm is driven by the desire for something, the absence of it is the propellant of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

This does not mean, you have to become purer by avoiding sex or anything else, nor do you have to be harmonious, physically fit or breathe in a special way. All that is needed is to forget what and where you are because the Enlightenment of that which is One does not know of  anything definable.

For the same reason, the Enlightenment of that which is One has not changed what you appear to be if you return to the fantasy of being in a world where there seems to be more than one. In the case of Alexius, for example, his psychosomatic disorders were unaltered.

But since he keeps getting glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, he is always reminded, that he is not in a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus it is like being in a roleplay, where one act out a role in a story governed by the gamemaster. However, in the case of a world where there seems to be more than one, the gamemaster is not somebody outside but inside of him, namely the brain.

Playing the brain’s game, the perception ‘it is what it is’ comes naturally. Therefore, since your interpretation of past events lose their specific meaning, there is not something definitive to maintain psychosomatic disorders – or to make one feel stuck in in the plot of the brain.

Thoughts about meditation, the basic and special self

To define something as small, it must be contrasted with something tall. But if the special self hates big things, it excludes tall. But as you cannot experience one side of a contrast without the other, you also exclude small when you exclude tall. The brain’s function is to create entertaining thoughts for the self that it has fabricated. Therefore, if thoughts do not seem to please but frustrate the self, its consciousness most likely perceives the flow of them so they comply with a conceptualised way of living, such as capitalism, socialism, spiritualism or another ism meant to make the self feel more special.

But since this perception is founded on a particular belief system, it is restricted by its concepts. And since self-discipline does not make you delighted but angry, you do not get the fulfilment the belief system has promised. Instead, you get stress and confusion – primarily because the thoughts you have compiled to keep your perception in line with your preferred belief system do not like your manipulation. Hence, they move faster and faster to escape your domination.

No worries, if you do not try to stop this restless energy, it automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath, where the slate is wiped clean for misperceptions. Therefore, since there are only perceptions in sync with the experiences the brain produces, you feel entertained by all of them. Fortunately, you do not have to uphold these perceptions yourself. Since the basic self is relative to the experiences created by the brain (read more about that here), it is not definitive. Hence the inexact flow of thoughts coming from the brain seems natural. But not to the special self because it wants to be definitive.

To distance itself from the brain, the special self composes a perception in which the basic self seems to have been transformed into someone definitive independent of the brain. However, this twisted perception calls for more thoughts than those few the brain has available to make a perception aligned with the basic self. Thus, the special self meditates to generate more thoughts.

Those who perceive themselves as unique beings with the power to do things in their way and pace need many thoughts to uphold this twisted perception. However, the movement of all these thoughts soon becomes so hectic that they try to slow them down via meditation.

That is the official reason. But as anybody who has meditated knows, thoughts multiply when trying to control them. And that is the real reason for meditating because many thoughts are needed to construct a unique appearance.

 ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self does not feel disturbed by the flow of thoughts from the brain. On the contrary, it loves this quiet flow because it makes it easy to serve the brain in a laid-back way. However, the special self does not want to serve but master the brain. Thus it feels disturbed by its thoughts, although, if not interfering, there are only a few.

The frantic flow of thoughts, the special self experiences, has been generated by itself. It has multiplied the simple flow, the brain develops to maintain a basic itself into a large group of thoughts from which it can compose a perception of itself as an independent being. Read more about that here. Then, when it needs a break from the multitudes of thoughts, it looks for something numbing like alcohol, drugs or a mantra.

Should it manage to relax, it feels horrified because, without all the special thoughts it has generated, the idea of being in control falls apart. Hence there is no self-deception to hide that you are dependent on the brain, which depends on you to have a twofold response to its experiences, so their dualistic nature is confirmed.

However, not fighting this interdependence, there is nothing to hide, that all the brain’s experiences of you as someone in a world of duality are as unreal as being someone in the virtual world of a computer game. Fortunately, duality is as entertaining as a computer game when you play the game of twofoldness. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Most like to believe they feel upset because of the flow of thoughts coming from the brain. However, the distress comes from the attempt to edit it. When a single thought is sought out from the stream of thoughts, it generates a new stream, and if a specific thought is singled out from that, yet another stream is made, and so on – just like if you split a neutron from an atom nucleus, it sends out more neutrons all by itself, that split and sends out more neutrons. It is a chain reaction.

The special self likes to believe that visualising something specific makes it happen because that seems to confirm it is in control of its life.

But it is like thinking the TV show you turn on by hitting the remote control is made by you. Somebody else has made the show, and the only thing you can change is your perception of it. This is also how the basic self has been transformed into a special self, namely by perceiving the basic self so that it seems to have become an independent being in charge of its own life.

But the special self needs constant approval from others to feel this is so. To get that, it often establishes a family, which it can manipulate into giving it the confirmation it needs. If that does not work as intended, the special self may pay a psychologist to ratify its uniqueness. Yet it does not realise how dependent it is on those supporting its perception of being independent.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The brain works like nature, throwing seeds here and everywhere without worrying about the outcome. Therefore, serving the brain, you also have fun doing that. But those who believe to be in charge of themselves think much about the result of their actions. They want to get as much as possible for as little as possible (read more about that here). Hence they organise the seeds in straight lines, resulting in much profit but no fun. Some solve that by buying things that make them happy for a while. And others try to find something spiritual inside them to feel good. But the way to feel good is to serve the brain because it has created you to do that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the brain scripts you to feel sexual lust, you will feel horny no matter what you believe in being. However, you will not enjoy it if you try to suppress it through meditation or tantra sex. Read more about sex here.

If you perceive yourself to be detached from the experiences of the brain, you fool yourself because you need them to prove this.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you try to solve absent-mindedness through mindfulness meditation or grounding exercises, you make it worse because you do not know who you are. Only your maker knows that. And since it is the brain, the solution, in the context of believing to be someone, is to be aligned with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain instead of using meditation to distance yourself from it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Mindfulness is for those who cannot help exploiting others – just like in ancient times, monks introduced meditation to the barbarians seeking shelter in Ashrams to control themselves, thus refraining from abusing others.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self is aware of itself as someone substantial by continually perceiving the experiences the brain produces as tangible. However, if it twists its perception of these experiences to make them appear spiritual, they are not seen as they are but how they could be. Consequently, the self disassociates itself from the brain, thus itself, since what and where it appears to be is a product of the brain. In other words, since the self’s perceived independence of the brain is a disassociation from itself, every act that the self perceives to do in its way and pace deepens the alienation. That is why meditating to become purer, higher and whatnot enhances the feeling of remoteness instead of closeness. Hence you do not get the joy of appearing as someone substantial in a tangible world, nor do you get around to undoing the belief in being definable because the imagination of being spiritual suppresses that.

It is impossible to alter the stream of thoughts the brain produces to uphold the basic self it has created. So instead, the consciousness the brain has installed in the self makes a perception of the stream that establishes the self, not the brain, as its maker. Then, like a god, it says, »This is my creation.« And Bam! The world, as it perceives it, appears to manifest. Next, it says, »I am an independent being.’ And Bam! The perception is ratified as a fact.

Third, it builds a character with a few flaws, so it always has something to improve through meditation, Tai Chi or something else that makes it seem to be in control, thus able to be and have something specific. This makes it feel unique but not satisfied because it is all on its own.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self has no need to relax or transform itself through meditation, yoga, fitness and whatnot. On the contrary, as its perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain, it is rewarded with shots of happiness. Therefore, since it regularly forgets to remember being someone, it knows there is nothing to transform.

On the other hand, the special self never forgets to remember being somebody. It is always on a mission to become more and be part of something greater. But since that never turns out as expected, it settles for following someone that seems to improve its social status.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you need to relax, you are on a mission to be someone definitive. Because to achieve that, you have perceived the stream of thoughts coming from the brain excluded the thoughts you find upsetting. Since that does not result in peace but fear of the repressed, you look for something to relax. However, not trying to edit the ever-changing flow of thoughts but perceiving it as ‘it is what it is,’ you are not someone definitive but relative to the present experience produced by the brain. Thus hating what you dislike feels just as exciting as loving what you like. Hence there is no need to relax.

The special self always looks for something to fix. But it objects to the solution that would fix everything immediately, namely not perceiving the brain as an enemy but as a friend (read more about that here). By doing that, everybody becomes a friend because the experience of others is produced by the brain.

Ultimately speaking, the solution is to undo the belief in being someone who experiences something. As this is the end of being someone, the special self avoids it by meditating or something else that seems to confirm it exists.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Those who believe they have free will are easily manipulated by the many doctrines of the world, such as how to be spiritual, socialistic, capitalistic or something else they think will make them independent of the brain’s ways.

However, you cannot avoid the brain’s commands – just like a car cannot determine the direction itself. It is in the hands of the driver. Likewise, you are in the hands of the brain.

Yet, unlike a car, you have a consciousness free to perceive the direction as you want. In the case of the special self, it makes a perception in which it has excluded everything that does not fit into the special doctrine it believes will make it more unique and independent. But it is make-believe. Nothing changes but the way the special self sees it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The self that the brain has fabricated from nothing (read more about that here) and continuously administers, so it appears to be something, feels restricted when it imagines the freedom it could have if not managed by the brain but itself. But the self cannot be changed, only the perception of it. Therefore, no matter how you perceive yourself, you are still the same self that the brain has created and manages.

If you perceive the brain’s basic rendering of you as someone in a capsule of time and space as a bit boring, the special self sets in by offering you more exotic ways of perceiving it, for example, by coming from the heart (read more about that here), living in the now or having direct experiences.

But since all experiences – no matter where you believe they come from or how they seem to be experienced – are constructions of thoughts fabricated by the brain (read more about that here), these special perceptions are nothing but a reconstruction of the thoughts made by the brain.

But they do not work because they are exclusive and not inclusive. Any experience the brain creates consists of all thoughts popping up at that moment, including those of the past and the future. When in sync with the whole bunch, every moment feels perfect. See hack #3.1 Every moment is the perfect moment.

But this is not how it feels if you eliminate some of those thoughts so you can adjust to concepts like coming from the heart, living in the now or having direct experiences. This makes you feel imperfect.

Just like the night excludes the day and vice versa, spirituality excludes consciousness and vice versa.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is foolish to think you are someone in a computer game just because it seems to make you feel something. Whatever you believe in feeling is based on your interpretation of computer-generated events. In other words, what you feel is made by you. The same applies to what you feel in the world where you believe to read this. If you feel good about the article, you have chosen to interpret your response to it like that. Consequently, it is your choice whether you feel good or bad.

It is also your doing to assume that a god, higher consciousness or whatnot is making the world where you believe in being. There is neither god nor you, as that requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless and therefore endless.


NOTES:

The outward-facing senses versus the inward-facing ones

Those who hear or feel the humming coming from far away echoing that which is One cannot use it to make themselves or the world better. But they will be used as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely that which is One. This does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. Neither does it mean they will cease to exist because they have never existed since there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which I am is real, it is impossible to be in such a world. Yet it seems possible to pretend it. This is to say that the below article is written within the framework of Alexius pretending that. Thus, his experiences described below – for example when the Earth stopped moving – are as illusionary as any other experience in a world where there seems to be more than one.

THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSES VERSUS THE INWARD ONES
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window, and everything was covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned everything white inside him to the sound of Donovan gently singing Jennifer Juniper coming from his speakers.

He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. The air was perceived so thin that there was no space between anything. Although music was coming out of his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of that which is One.

Much later on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and not so much later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around him, there was no movement and no people. He did not know what it was, but it did not seem tangible.

After being accustomed to hearing the echo of that which is One, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that the reason people do not hear it is that they are expecting those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding to be revealed, neither is there any need for that, when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise.

THE ECHO OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes fantastic sounds. But you do not sense them when reading the word unless you have heard them before.

This is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. Those words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But if you have not heard the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, they will not remind you that it can be compared to the distant sound you hear coming from a computer when your ear is close to it.

To be so close to the computer, though, you have to stop focusing on the world empowered on its screen. The same applies to hearing or feeling the distant echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. In other words, you must stop focusing on the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one to hear the echo of oneness.

You can also compare the echo to transparently hearing the purring of a cat, or feeling your body vibrating like that, or trembling of fear but without fearing something, or shaking of coldness but more lightly and not feeling cold or anything specifically, or feeling the bubbling effect in the body from quickly drinking the foam of Coca-Cola. Furthermore, it can be compared to a subtle version of the sound coming from a vacuum cleaner, the ventilation in an airport, or from the edge of the breath (not the sound of breathing in or out, but at the edge of them).

The echo of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one. It is the engine of that world but not in the sense that it produces it. It echoes that which has no beginning or end, so it cannot create anything specific. Yet its energy is used to keep together the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one – just like it is the dreamer’s energy that makes it possible to have a dream. But it is impossible to manifest the dreamer in the dream – likewise, oneness cannot do anything in a world where there seems to be more than one.

The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to non-duality.

Therefore, if you are dreaming about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief, this primordial vibration is not for you. It knows of nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is nothing but that which is One, thus nothing but peace, because it takes more than one to not be at peace.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it in hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise. Such glimpses you have when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.

But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The inward-facing senses reveal the glimpses when the outward-facing ones are partly closed. Thus they are not physically tangible. As long you experience the Enlightenment of that which is One in one of its aspects, you have glimpses of it. But if you stop perceiving one of these aspects as it consists of different elements, there is nothing to define you as an experiencer. Therefore, since there is not someone definitive experiencing them, there is no difference between them and you. That is the Enlightenment of that which is One (hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One).

REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy it. There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses. If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through such glasses as if everything is love or a cry for love. It is all make-believe, so anything will do. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation.

When the world experienced through the outward-facing senses is an illusion, one may conclude that the world experienced through the inward-facing senses is real. But what is real never ends, so both the inward and outward-facing senses are unreal as all their experiences have an end  – including glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically speaking, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with and a door that looks like a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and rapidly spiralling bright light around it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.

However, since the black hole has no end, you do not reach oneness. Nevertheless, since you leave the belief that you are someone you are where you always have been and will be, namely in the oneness of that which is you. In other words, you have never been definable or experienced anything. Fortunately, that is an illusion.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, there is no Enlightenment of that which is One, only glimpses of it

Even though in a dream you may sense, that it´s a dream, you can only see the dream. The dream must be terminated to see the dreamer.

PART 1:
Gurus and others talking about silence, inner peace, and eternal bliss try to seduce you into believing that they know how to find shelter from the world. But how can they claim there is something to find in a world they describe as an illusion or a dream? Everything found in a dream is equally illusionary, no matter if it seems to be found inside or outside of an appearance there or whether it is perceived as pure or whatnot.

THE DREAMER CANNOT BE SEEN IN A DREAM, YET EVERYTHING SYMBOLISES THE DREAMER
The foundation of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is that a world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to a dream or a movie – in other words, it is an illusion! This is possible to sense, just like when you – within the illusion of a world where there seems to be more than one – have a dream and for a moment think it is not real.

Regardless the distances and the apparent different persons in a dream, there are no distances and no differences at all. Everything is in the dreamer, so no matter where you appear to be in the dream you are with the dreamer. It is only the belief in its realty, that separates you from each other.

This does not mean that you in such a moment see what is real, but that you sense the unreality of a world where there seems to be more than one. You cannot see what is real because there is nothing real in an illusion, no matter what you seem to think, feel, experience or read – including Alexius’ Duality Hacks. But if can you sense that your appearance is as fleeting as a dream, you may also grasp the dreamer of it being real.

Reality, though, is not something definitive. It is formless and much more energetic than you can ever imagine in the dream of a world defined by time and space. Millions of atomic bombs exploding at one time are nothing compared to the formless energy of that which is One.

It is one perpetual present at an unimaginable speed – so fast that there is no difference to see, and nobody has the time to see anything. That is why nothing is happening in the formlessness of oneness. See A world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to a movie of that which is One played in slow motion.

Alexius is speaking from vague memories of the Enlightenment of that which is One, where the dream of a world defined by time and space is no more and therefore, neither Alexius to experience something. That is why – apart from the certainty that there is no more than that which is One and therefore not a world where there seems to be more than one – he only has vague memories of it.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE SOMETHING, YOU ARE HALLUCINATING
The experience of seeing something can only occur in a world where there seems to be more than one. In such a world, one perpetual present appears to be hidden behind the idea of linear time, as it gives the impression, that there is a continuous flow of endless events with each their past and future.

Reality is that which is One. There is neither nothing inside or outside, as that requires more than one.

Selected fragments of this flow some gurus want you to freeze and uphold as if it is a state of peace or stillness, but like everything else in a world where there seem to be more than one, these states are based on excluding something upsetting or disturbing.

In other words, as they are based on the belief in separation, they exclude the only peace and stillness there is, namely the formlessness of oneness, which has no disturbances, as it takes more than one to be disturbed by something. So if you are feeling disturbed or feeling anything at all, you are either unreal or hallucinating.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT
The enlightenment of that which is One is a moment that starts in the dream of a world where there seems to be more than one. Yet, at the exact same moment, the dream is over. As that which is you were not in the dream, it is not awakening to a new awareness. On the contrary, there is no awareness of anything, nor that you seemed to have believed being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one, as that requires more than one. There is just one bright light – so intense that there is nothing to see and, therefore, nothing to be.

The Enlightenment of that which is One sucks everything out of you, so there is nothing to fall through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. That is, if you do not determine the first stages of the black hole to look like a zen sign, for example. In that case, you are back in a world defined by time and space. Hence you are better off forgetting Alexius’ desAlexius’description hole if you want to go where nobody can go. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The light is there to suck what has been stripped free of the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one through a black hole into that which is One. That is if there are no leftovers of this belief because if there are, you will think that you see something and therefore return to a world where there seems to be more than one, as only in such a world can something be experienced to be seen by somebody.

In other words, if it is perceived as if there is something definable in the Enlightenment of that which is One, you will again appear to be someone definitive in a world defined by time and space.

Those who have exciting enlightenment experiences to tell about have held onto the belief in being someone definitive and therefore not as nobody been sucked through a black hole into the formlessness of that which is One, so what they have experienced is a glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One can be experienced by seeing, hearing, feeling or tasting it. But as it requires more than one to experience something, the glimpses are not the Enlightenment of that which is One.

From from the perspective of a world defined by time and space the Enlightenment of that which is one leads to nothing, because there is not something to see, and therefore nothing to define you as someone definitive. That which is One has no perspective, as it requires more than one to have something.

For someone who is fed up with appearing to be someone definitive, it is frustrating only to have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. Still, for those who love to appear as someone special, it is perfect because the glimpses can be used to pump up the specialness by lecturing or writing books about the experience of a vast empty space full of pure consciousness, love, bliss or whatever the glimpses are interpreted to reveal.

But it has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One because only someone definitive can be full of pure consciousness, love, bliss or anything else.

The rogue consciousness of the self* likes to give the impression that it can help you get more, whether in a so-called spiritual or materialistic way. Yet you never get anything but the need for even more. This need, however, you already had. It was because of that you believed to be someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one, so it appears that although that which is you is no different from the formlessness of that which is One, it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

PART 2:
One who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, as well as someone who is not, knows nothing. Those not to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, however, do their best to act as if they know a lot. In contrast, one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One has no such need, as the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one are not perceived to make a difference. So there is nothing to know – except that there is no more than the formlessness of that which is One.

So whether you think that you know why it is raining, why you or somebody else do this or that, what you think you know is an illusion, as it takes more than one to know something and the formlessness of that which is One is everything because what is formless is endless.

From this follows, to love or help somebody, just like everything else in a world where there seems to be more than one, is an illusion and therefore not an attribute of that which is One.

Nothing that requires more than one is an attribute of oneness. In other words, love and whatnot only seem to be possible in a world where there seems to be more than one. However, believing to be someone in such a world can be helpful regarding having the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one undone. That is, if this is the purpose of using them. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life or hack #3.2 Inclusiveness is freedom or hack #7.1 Alone together, we go home.

In a world of linear time, this appears to take time. In the process, however, Alexius´ Duality Hacks will enable you to enjoy the illusion of that while having the belief that you are someone enjoying something undone. This does not apply to hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One, as there is nothing to enjoy in the fastest way possible to have the belief in being someone undone, namely the Enlightenment of that which is One because it takes more than one to enjoy anything. Besides, the Enlightenment of that which is One takes no time, as there is no time in that which is One.

All that being said about ways, the formlessness of that which is One is everything because what is formless is endless. Hence a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion, including any way out of it. So to fully undo the belief in such a world, the way you appear to go must be undone as well.

A person cannot bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. But a person can momentarily forget what and where it appears to be so that there is not something definable to hide the formlessness of that which is One. If a person just partly forgets what and where it appears to be, the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be bid welcome. Yet, such a person may have glimpses of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

EPILOGUE:
Who is looking for food but those with an empty stomach. And who is looking for enlightenment, but those who feel empty. Unfortunately, most try to fill this emptiness with something of a pleasurable nature like, for example, bliss. But nothing can fill this emptiness because it is a fantasy based on the belief that you are someone specific in a world defined by time and space and that which is you is the formlessness of oneness, so that is not possible.

That is why you are bound to feel empty if believed to be someone specific. Therefore, the solution to feeling empty is not to fill up the emptiness but to undo the belief in being someone definitive.

An enlightened (in the sense of the Enlightenment of that which is One) never ask ‘who am I?’ because there is no doubt there is no more than that which is One and therefore not a world where there seems to be more than one – regardless it appears to be astral and whatnot. Consequently, the enlightened have no need for communities, discussions, so-called interesting exchanges or dialogues, sending love or anything else to make it appear as if there is someone specific there. Someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One does not believe but pretends to be someone.

  • The statements above about the fabricated states of gurus and no need for interacting in communities do not mean this must be avoided. If the world is an illusion, preventing any part of it is also an illusion. Nothing in fantasy, whether it appears to be within or without, in the heart or whatnot, needs to be avoided because nothing is real. You are free to have fun pretending to be what you are not when you know that.
