5.2 You feel stressed from perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference [draft]

Updated August 27, 2022

It is only in a world where there seems to be more than one that you can search for the meaning of life. Nevertheless, it is not to be found there or anywhere else because it takes more than one to find something, and life is that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The way letters are put together in various configurations makes it possible for us to attribute a special meaning to each shape. And when they are organised in rows divided by dots and commas, like in this article, they seem to make up a story written by somebody else than ourselves, thus confirming we are somebody specific in a world where there is more than one. But since the story that seems to prove this is pieced together of shapes attributed a meaning by yourself, the story is made by you. Consequently, it does not prove there is more than yourself.

Let us imagine that the letters making up the shapes we believe in establish a world where there is more than one are the same letters making up oneness. Unlike in the world where we believe in being and where everything is experienced to be separated by time and space, there is no time and space to keep anything apart in that which is One, as it requires more than one.

Hence the letters that oneness consists of cannot be distinguished from each other, thus not organised into shapes that, when added together in specific ways, seem to establish a story of us as somebody in a world defined by time and space. In other words, oneness is formless.

A WORLD DEFINED BY TIME AND SPACE IS A SLOWED-DOWN VERSION OF THE FORMLESSNESS OF ONENESS
It is not only because there is no space to separate the letters making up oneness that they cannot be differentiated from each other, but also because they move so fast that time stands still (read more about that here). Hence, it is impossible to organise them linearly – or in any other way.

In the context of our story about that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one, you could say the latter is a fantasy of oneness being slowed down. Hence there seems to be space between the otherwise shapeless, which gives them a shape of their own that separates them from each other. Here you can read more about the fantasy of a slowed-down version of oneness.

Furthermore, since there seems to be time to arrange the separated shapes in different combinations attributed to each their meaning, space and time establish separation as real, thus the formlessness of oneness as unreal.

In other words, the slowing down of oneness is an attempt to turn formlessness into thoughts representing specific shapes you can manipulate to your liking in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Hence you do not get back to oneness by slowing down the speed of thoughts via meditation or something else that pacifies you, so you seem unmoved by speeding with the Earth around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. Read more about that here. Nor is the way back revealed by understanding this or anything else, as understanding something calls for more than one, thus enhancing the belief that there is more than that which is One.

Whether you experience something as inside or outside, it is an illusion because oneness is formless, thus without sides – and that which is you is no different from that which is one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TAKES NO TIME
It is not a fact but a make-believe that what you believe in being is real. It all falls apart if you do not attribute meaning to the letters in this article or something else that seems to be part of the story of what you are because when shapes make no sense, there is nothing to separate them and thus no time and space.

Since there is no more than oneness, nobody has ever left it. Thus going back takes no time.

The fastest way to not attribute meaning to something experienced is to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One). It promptly and relentlessly erases everything ever experienced. Therefore, since there are no memories from where an image of you as someone definitive can be recalled, there is nobody to experience being someone.

Should you prefer to have this done over time, you can connect with the empty breath (read more about that here). Once is enough because it does not know of separation. Therefore, even though you may forget, the empty breath remains by your side, so it gradually can undo your belief in being someone definitive while feeling entertained by being that.

Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, the empty breath does not erase your memories of being someone. But since the empty breath resides in the nothingness from where the brain makes the experiences of that, it knows what you experience to be is nothing. Thus, with the empty breath by your side, the experiences do not establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world – like within the context of such a world, what you appear to be in the virtual world of a computer game is not perceived as real (see hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive).

Of course, you could contemplate this yourself. But it quickly turns into a joyless debate of something instead of being the bliss of nothing that the wordlessness of the empty breath entails.

To undo the belief in separation, you must give up attributing meaning to anything so your apparent different experiences do not appear to make a difference. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

WHEN NOTHING IS NOT PERCEIVED AS SOMETHING
The change of size and weight from hefty to almost nothing – for example vinyl to CD to MP3 to streaming, and computer to smartphones to wearables – is a reminder that reality is sizeless because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to take up space.

For the same reason, oneness cannot be seen. That is why the purpose of the empty breath is not to reveal oneness but to reveal that what you experience as something is fabricated by the brain from nothing. And seeing nothing, there is not something to hide the formlessness of oneness – like when not perceiving a dream as something, it does not seem to hide you are in your bed. The empty breath accomplishes this while you simultaneously enjoy experiencing nothing as something. In other words, you do not have to change anything, and as already said, once having been connected with the empty breath is enough.

APPENDIX:
Some claim the amount of info coming from digital media is stressful. But that is most likely because they want to uphold a particular image of the world and therefore need to sort the info into what is adaptable and not. That is what makes it feel stressful, not the amount of info.

Fortunately, the more stressed you get, the faster it disappears if you do not slow down its pace but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Read more about that here.

Going everywhere and nowhere with ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

Updated September 11, 2022

Although being in the bliss of nothing is straightforward, it may seem complicated if you assume thoughts must be controlled or stopped because focusing on them is impossible in the nothingness of bliss. Neither is focussing beneficial for getting there. On the contrary, when not hot holding onto thoughts by concentrating on them, they speed up until the explosion of their unedited energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its blissful state of not-knowing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GOING FROM THE ABDOMEN WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
When you connect with the empty breath, it may feel like you have two kinds of breaths. The well-known one that you probably, out of habit, struggle for by taking quick gasps of air or maybe slowing down to take deep breaths. And then the empty breath may feel like it does not supply you with enough air. But that is because it has a slower pace than you are used to, with a more extended break between breathing in and out. It keeps a healthy balance between breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide in a laid-back way.

It does not feel like you bring about the empty breath, but a ‘generator’ in the abdomen. Very gently, it first expands the abdomen, secondly the belly and lastly the chest. Then, after a short break, it goes the other way to contract the body. And so on. It feels like hardly any air is coming in and out of the nose. That is because the empty breath is experienced with the inward-facing senses, and since that requires the outward-facing senses to be turned down, so are physical movements.

Read more about the inward-fencing senses in The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses.

But as long as you do not compare the experience of the empty breath with the physical one, it feels as if you get sufficient air from an inner breath. On the other hand, if you compare it with the physical breath, you will not feel the empty breath because it is not a physical experience. The same applies if you try to produce it.

Physical speaking, the breathing can be through the mouth if that suits you better. However, when it is through the nose, you can support the empty breath by using the mouth to get the side-effect of the taste of life, namely defocusing. Then you do not focus on the empty breath or something else. Hence you can be in the bliss of nothing. See the paragraph The taste of life in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

Following the rhythm of the breath as described here and elsewhere in HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss is hypnotising. Thus you forget to experience yourself as someone separated from others by time and space. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Please be aware that this article does not intend to present a factual explanation of breathing when the empty breath is in the driving seat but a description of how it may feel. Since it is felt via the inward-facing senses and the physical breath is felt by the outward-facing senses, the empty breath goes on undisturbed by the physical condition of your body.

Therefore, if you have an issue with the lungs that shortens the physical breath, you still get the whole experience of the empty breath as you stay with the inward-facing senses and patiently wait for the empty breath to fill your lungs with the bliss of nothing. Remember that since there was nothing before there was something, the nothingness of the empty breath gives you maximum charge if not expecting something.

The material generator of the physical breath is the muscle called the diaphragm, between the stomach and the chest (see Wikipedia). But, as already said, the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen. From there, you follow the flow of the empty breath to the top of the head while the body expands from the abdomen to the chest. At the same time, you stick to the thoughts and/or feelings popping up without editing them. In the top of the head, the gentle explosion of the unbounded thoughts and feelings erases the perception of your experience as someone so that you are in the bliss of nothing, thus indifferent to the world of something.

This state of not-knowing remains while the body contracts and you follow the flow of the empty breath down to the abdomen. From there, you start over again, so going up and down keeps you in a state of not-knowing, provided you do not perceive an appearance, like your spouse, to make a difference. This is not to say that a state of not-knowing resides in the flow of the physical breath, nor anywhere in the body or the aura. It is nowhere in particular. That is why it is obscured by the experiences of time and space that seem to confirm you as someone definitive in a tangible world.

If the flow that you follow going up and down is a more or less straight line, it feels like being in the swing of the empty breath. But if the flow is circular, you surf one of the circles in the empty breath. Or perhaps you listen to the transparent sound of it. See respectively the paragraph THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH, SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH and THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. If it feels natural to change between those ways of experiencing the empty breath, go with that – or maybe do them simultaneously.

But if you stay in a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time, you cannot return to the experience of being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. So if you want that, you better leave a state of not-knowing relatively quickly. By doing that, you return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since you come back unconditioned, it is easy to ignite a new take-off into the empty breath. After the box, we take a closer look at how you can quickly go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone.

The empty breath cancels out the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one. This does not mean that they are not experienced to be different, but that it is not perceived to make a difference. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you every so often return to the empty breath, nothing remains a problem because the differences that appear to have caused it, are cancelled out the very moment you are with the empty breath.

That is, if you do not prevent the empty breath from cancelling out the differences by insisting on your work, for example, makes a difference. Fortunately, the frustration that seems to arise from claiming to know what is right can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

GOING UP AND DOWN AND NOWHERE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
Instead of remaining in a state of not-knowing when you leave the abdomen, you return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive by perceiving yourself to make a difference. Then you go with the empty breath to the head again while the body expands. On the way, you stop perceiving the thoughts and feelings constituting the experience of being someone as something. Hence you arrive in the head as empty as the empty breath and go down to the abdomen like that when the body contracts. From there you go up to the head again as someone definitive and leave it as nobody – and so on.

What you believe in being is gently falling apart when rapidly going back and forth between the consciousness of being someone definitive and a state of not-knowing, because in the latter all definitions are ignored. Therefore, since you do not perceive yourself as special when returning to the conscious experience of being someone, it is easy go back to a state of not-knowing.

Having done this for a while, going back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone becomes automatic. However, you do not know when you are connected with the empty breath because you are in a state of not-knowing. Eventually, nor do you know when you are conscious of being someone definitive because the contrast of up and down quickly soon cancels out itself (read more about that here). Thus you appear to be nobody going nowhere and yet everywhere.

In short, the rapid on and off connection with the empty breath sooner or later end all experiences because it cancels out differences. Without them, there is nothing definite to encounter. And thus, not something to hide, there is nothing but that which is one since it is formless, thus endless.

Suppose you think you find something better around the next corner. In that case, you will probably not notice the empty breath because it is not behind anything but before everything that the brain has twisted into an experience of something from nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GOING FROM THE THIRD EYE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
So far, we have said the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen, wherefore you start from there. But if you prefer a more metaphysical approach, you can use the ‘dynamo’ in the third eye and start going with the empty breath from there.

You do that by defocusing on the third eye. Then you wait patiently until the breath starts by itself. But you do not go with the flow of the breath. Instead, you rest in the space that seemed to have opened in the third eye and been filled with the transparent sound of the empty breath. From there, you probably sense the swing of the empty breath in the upper part of the body, and when breathing in, you see glimpses of Enlightenment. See What does the empty breath feel like?.

Whether starting from a ‘dynamo’ in the abdomen or the third eye to go with the flow of the empty breath, the streaming of thoughts is called off. However, now and then, it may come back. But it disappears in the next breath. Hence you cannot hold onto something specific. No worries. You are in the bliss of nothing, and although it is very energetic, you have no urge to achieve something. Therefore, since you do not hope to get anything, the world feels transparent, regardless of looking the same.

You can also find a ‘dynamo’ for the empty breath in the eighth chakra above the head. Starting from there, you go to the heart chakra in one or more of the ways described regarding the ‘dynamo’ for in abdomen, except you start from the top.

You do not need to remember every detail of this photo to get a sense of stormy weather. Likewise, you do not need to remember all the explanations about the empty breath to connect with it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

FORGETTING GOING UP AND DOWN:
Connecting with the empty breath is not a matter of letting go or surrendering since doing so enhances the belief in being someone definitive. You keep it at bay if you try to figure out which way to follow it or if it follows the physical breath because it has nothing to do with the body. Actually, you will never know if the physical and empty breath are aligned because you are in a state of not-knowing when connected with the empty breath.

It is a matter of speech when Alexius’ Duality Hacks say the empty breath fills you with emptiness. It does not supply you with anything. Instead, it replaces your experience of the body as something with nothing. Hence the body is seen for what it is. The same applies to every other experience you have. They are all nothing disguised as something. Acknowledging that, there is not something to bother you. That is why it is so blissful to be connected with the empty breath.

The apparent difference between a boy and a girl, for example, must be upheld as real to sustain the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Differences like that appear precisely the same when connected with the empty breath. However, due to its indifference they are not judged to make a difference. Hence the belief in being someone definitive fades out.

Should you forget to go up and down, there is no reason to condemn yourself because there is no self. Since it takes more than one to be or have a self, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless, the self is make-believe. This applies, of course, also to being connected with the empty breath. Nevertheless, you are not established as something since it gives you nothing. On the contrary, what you believe in being is exposed as unreal.

Since the empty breath sees nothing but emptiness where you believe to see something, it has no need to be free from anything or be recognised as something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GOING WITH SOMETHING AS NOTHING TO FEEL THE EMPTY BREATH
It may be easier to remind yourself about the nothingness of the empty breath by relating to it via something. For example, sometimes Alexius’ calls it Uma, which is the name of his beloved dead cat. She is not a substance anymore but has turned into nothing, thus the same as the empty breath, the memory of her hooked up with the empty breath is like a laser of nothing going through his perceived obstacles of something in the body. Thus nothing stops him from feeling the connection with the empty breath.

How to ignite a take-off into ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

Updated August 14, 2022

When not trying to make sense of this image but going with its absurdity, the free-flowing energy of the experience spontaneously ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its bliss of emptiness, provided there is a willingness to forget what you believe in being. The image is grabbed from the web.

As soon as you have had enough of the frustration coming from keeping together a fantastic image of yourself and you do not try to edit or transform your feeling of desperation, the raw energy automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath. Since it resides in nothing and your current experience of something is processed by the brain from what it imagined seeing in nothing one second ago (read more about that here), the take-off into the empty breath only takes one second.

In other words, when you connect with the empty breath, you go one second back in linear time to the nothingness the brain twisted into your present experience of something. But perceiving that with the empty breath, it is not seen as something, thus not confirming you as someone. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing.

In linear time, it may take a few more seconds, or many years, before there is nothing but the bliss of emptiness because out of reflex, you probably force the physical breath through the tensions in the body instead of going with the flow of the empty breath. It probably feels like the empty breath is an intruder you fight off with the physical breath.

However, this fight is make-believe. The empty breath does not see you as someone made of solid elements but of emptiness like itself. So when you stop fighting nothing, the empty breath passes what you believe is something problematic in the body as nothing. In other words, when going with the empty breath, you do not have to push your way through obstacles in the body or avoid them because the empty breath does not perceive them as something.

Nevertheless, the function of the empty breath is not to heal the body but the sick belief that there is someone in it. So although it may heal the painful areas of the body where they were made, namely nowhere, it is not the priority of the empty breath. This does not mean that the body should not be taken care of while you believe to be someone but that it is a physical matter, which the body can manage itself in many cases. If not, you consult a healthcare professional. See hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

It may at first feel like the empty breath sets off from an engine in the gut or the chest as it is an inner breath that slowly pumps air from there to extract the body (read more about that here). Hereafter it returns to the engine, which seems to take its time before it pumps out air again, unaware of being inside and outside.

What you believe in being is nothing twisted by the brain into someone experiencing something. In the presence of the empty breath, which is nothing not been processed into something, you become indifferent to the experience of something, wherefore there is not something specific to define you as someone definitive. The animation is grabbed from the web.

Despite the empty breath being nothing, it is experienced like something in a world where everything is expected to be felt. You might experience it like having fun surfing yin-yang like waves in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath or being everywhere and nowhere in the sound of it, joyfully moving with the swing of it, or being still in the abstractness behind its rhythmic flow. Read more about that in What does the empty breath feel like?

Although it may have been unedited speed and chaos that connected you with the empty breath, it is not a speedy or chaotic affair being connected. Instead, it is like you weightlessly walk on clouds. Think of being high up in the sky in an aeroplane. Although speed ignites the take-off and must be maintained to keep you in the air, it is not the speed you feel there but a relaxed experience of flying in clouds.

Regarding speed, whether connected with the empty breath or not, we are always moving extremely fast because the Earth, thus also us, is spinning at 1.000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. But having a static perception of ourselves, we do not feel the thrill of this, whereas having a perception in sync with the brain (read more about that here), we feel the speed and can use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

However, the ways described in this article and the other ones in hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing are generally not geared for a self in sync with the brain but one out of sync. Most are drawn in by the excitement they imagine getting from doing things their special way.

Even though the result is frustration and not the relaxation coming from being in sync with the brain, they insist on their way because in a world where being special, bitchy and having something extraordinary is the standard, being independent of the brain seems to be their only chance of becoming important. Thus hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is mostly about using stress and speedy thoughts for take-off into the empty breath.

Read more about the two kinds of self in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

Let us imagine, you have covered your eyes with your hand, so you can indulge in daydreaming aboutbeing in a world that revolves around you without being disturbed by the world outside of you. Though it feels great to be in a fantasy where everything turns out the way you want, it also feels strange to be cut off from the actual world.

So when you want to see the world as it is and not as you imagine it could be, and you sense it is your own hand that stops you from doing so, you automatically remove it. In other words, the built-up frustration of not seeing what is real and the realisation that your own hand hides it, makes you remove your hand so you can see the world as it is.

You may not only sense the bare feet that have made the footprints in this photo but also the body they belong to. Yet there is no feet or entity in the image, and nobody makes footprints like those. Hence what you sense is a construction of thoughts. Read more about that here. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

HAVING HAD ENOUGH IGNITES A TAKE-OFF INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
The process in the above box resembles the way a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. The perception of your experiences as something hides they are a fantasy made from nothing. This perception, which is to be compared to the hand in the above box, is made from selected thoughts organised into a spiritual or mundane vocabulary that you share with like-minded ones to confirm each other as real and not a fantasy of the brain. Read more about this here.

When you have had enough of the confusion that comes from this misperception, you loosen the grip on the selected thoughts, making it up. Thus you start to see that being someone is a daydream. When you are fed up with living a fantasy, your frustration ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, you are still in the world of something. However, the experiences of something are perceived as nothing. Therefore, since you are not attributed with a specific meaning, you are in a state of not-knowing.

The empty breath cannot be experienced as something definitive because it resides in the nothingness unprocessed by the brain. Hence you do not notice it if you want to experience something specific.

Thus there is no awareness of the bliss that comes from being nobody. But memories of it pop up when you return to the experience of being somebody. This you must do at the latest 20 minutes, 45 at most, after entering a state of not-knowing if you want to be able to go on in the world of something. Read more about that here. Returning from nothing to something, the slate is wiped clean, so even though it feels like you had a unique experience, you are nothing special. Instead, you are the basic self you always were supposed to be. Thus you feel happy.

The connectedness with the empty breath does not come from meditating, chanting, or any other self-control technique because control enhances the belief in being someone definitive. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since this happiness does not come from something in particular but from being in sync with the brain (see hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one), there is no need always to perceive an experience as something specific. Thus, now and then, there does not appear to be something to hide the bliss of nothing. In other words, you automatically go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone. See To be nobody and yet somebody.

Are you confused about how to connect with the empty breath? If so, do not try to clear up the turmoil but go with its unedited energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. In the previous or following articles of hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing, you can read more about that. But be aware that you will never get to know how to connect with the empty breath. It is not something but nothing, and you cannot learn how to connect with nothing. But if you forget what and where you appear to be, you do not need to connect because then there does not appear to be something hiding that you are nothing.

THE PURPOSE OF ALEXIUS’ DUALITY HACKS
There is no reason to diligently learn all the duality hacks for undoing the belief in being someone definitive. None of them is a goal in themselves – nor do they lead to the target. There is no destination because you are already there.

Hence the purpose of applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to return to that which is One but to expose the belief that seems to hide it, namely that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

The speed of unedited thoughts and feelings ignites the bliss of nothing (DRAFT)

Updated May 19, 2022

That which is One can be compared to a movie running so fast that no frames can be seen. A world where there seems to be more than one is the same film slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of many different frames. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Contrary to common belief, oneness is not the same as stillness but as loudness. That is, if the speed of it could be heard. But that is impossible since that requires more than one. You could also say that oneness cannot be experienced because it is an analogue movie played so fast that its frames cannot be seen. The speed merges the frames into one. Hence it is not quietness but speediness that is the bedrock of oneness.

In the context of this metaphor, a world where there seems to be more than one is a movie of oneness slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of frames divided by time and space. Read more about that here.

Those insisting in oneness being stillness want to take it slow, so they have time to control themselves, thus appearing as balanced.

It is, therefore, not calmness but speediness that is needed to accelerate the slowed-down movie of oneness into its natural speed, which is so fast that it cannot be seen. Hence hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is not about slowing down thoughts or stopping them but not holding them back, so their uncontrolled speed ignites a take-off into the empty breath. It syncs the speedy thoughts in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, so they can be further accelerated without you going insane in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Inevitable thoughts move so fast that there is no time to hold onto them to establish you as someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. Therefore, since the inward-facing senses do not see you as definitive, it takes over the perception of the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you are in a state of not-knowing, which is pure bliss.

Suppose the brain is not kept active by you continuously perceiving something as separate. In that case, it cannot uphold your consciousness as someone definitive, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

However, you can only stay in a state of not-knowing 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive because the brain falls into a coma if there is not a continuous dialogue – internal or external – about something that seems to confirm you are someone definitive.

Therefore, if you do not want the brain to fall into a coma and you to disappear into the nothingness from where the experiences of what you believe in being is fabricated by the brain, you must return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of something by resuming your grievances about the world experienced to be outside of you, so you again are established as separated from what you experience, thus someone definitive.

Instead of returning from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being someone definitive, you can remain there until you are unaware of something specific. Therefore, since there is not something to confirm you are someone, there is nothing to be absorbed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read about that in HACK #6, The inward-facing senses, Enlightenment, and glimpses of it. This does not only mean that the appearance of you as someone definitive is over, but you have never existed, neither materially nor spiritually, because it takes more than one to exist.

Most, however, never enter a state of not-knowing, and if they do, they quickly leave it. But in this hack, you get to unlearn the collectively agreed ways of pacifying yourself through meditation and television, for example, but instead, step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions to ignite a take-off into the empty breath that slowly but surely exposes your experiences of something as nothing. Therefore, since your slate is wiped clean by the bliss of nothing, you become nobody pretending to be somebody in a world where there seems to be something.

To not forget being nobody, you may go back to a state of not-knowing to have the slate wiped clean again. Or maybe you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is,‘ thus being in sync with the duality flow, which never stops at something specific, so you cannot be somebody. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Since there is no more than that which is One, everything in a world where there seems to be more than one is absurd. That includes Alexius’ Duality Hacks. Yet their application undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to sit in particular postures or do something extraordinary to take-off into the empty breath. Instead, you acknowledge your present chaos of thoughts or feelings without trying to shape them by a specific belief system. When you edit them, the energy of chaos is replaced by the numbness of order.

To achieve this, you do nothing but be it (more about that below in the big box). This is not only the take-off into the empty breath but also the destination because totally being something leaves nothing to contrast it, thus nothing to define you, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing.

Have you already have organised the chaos of thoughts or feelings into a specific belief system, there is no need to go back to chaos to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. You acknowledge its suppression by being nothing but paralysed (read more about that here, thus undefinable.

But you do not know the bliss of not being someone before you return to the conscious experience of being that, and blissfully memories of emptiness start popping up. However, you know you are nobody when you do not care about what and where you appear to be.

When trying to control, change or stop thoughts and feelings, they are slowed down. Thus they do not have the speed needed to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, where they lose their apparent meaning, thus their apparent power to define you as someone definitive.

Please be aware that the above explanation of that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one is as absurd as any other explanation because it requires more than one to explain something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

If you feel as an outsider, it is not solved by blaming others but by solely feeling wrong. Since that means there is nothing to contrast what you feel, it cannot be defined. Consequently, you feel nothing but the bliss of emptiness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not get rid of an emotional problem by suppressing it but by feeling it. This is not done by sharing it with friends, nor by focusing on the cause with the help of a psychiatrist. These approaches disassociate you from your feeling. And you cannot get rid of it if you do not feel it.

So instead of sharing what you imagine to feel with somebody else, feel it all by yourself until you are nothing but that, thus eliminating a feeling to contrast it, wherefore there is not something to define you having a problem or anything else. Consequently, you are in a state of not-knowing.

When returning from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone, like a criminal, you do not think in terms of right or wrong. But unlike a criminal, you do not replace these categories with a calculation of what you can get away with it. Instead, you remain in their interaction, which is the duality flow. Being in that, there is nothing to disturb you from falling into a state of not-knowing again and again.

Read about the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Take-offs into ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

Updated July 9, 2022

You can use anything that gets speedy, whether it appears to be positive or negative, for take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

PREFACE:
If you do not try to control or stop the speedy and chaotic movements of thoughts and feelings to organise a coherent image of yourself in the world of the outward-facing senses, there is nothing to support the belief in being someone definitive in a world defined by time and space. Thus the empty breath can sync the perceived tangible image of you in the world of the outward-facing senses with the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.

Since this synchronisation makes the abstractness of the inward-facing senses the foundation for the perception of you as someone in the world of the outward-facing senses, the experience of separation in that world no longer seem absolute. Therefore, since you, do not seem to be someone definitive, you enter a state of not-knowing, which is like walking on clouds of bliss.

TAKE-OFFS INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
Success and failure in the world of the outward-facing senses tend to speed up thoughts and feelings. Therefore, you may try to fix feeling stressed by meditating, even though it often has the opposite effect, bringing about more thoughts and feelings. Read more about that here.

The fastest way to not be bothered by speedy thoughts and feelings is not to organise them into something harmonious but to have the raw energy of unsuppressed chaos ignite a take-off into the empty breath, which immediately takes you across an invisible bridge to the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, from where the speed of the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses that brought you there does not appear to be stressful but soothing. Read more about that here.

In other words, when stress is not suppressed in the world of the outward-facing senses, its chaotic energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath that automatically synchronises the outward and inward-facing senses. Hence, the world of the inward-facing senses becomes the foundation for how the world of the outward-facing senses is perceived.

And since the inward-facing senses vibrate at a high frequency, the experience of speedy thoughts and/or feelings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem disturbing when perceived from the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. On the contrary, it is like walking in clouds of bliss.

Except for the inward and outward-facing sense of sight, the sensory organs are the same for both of them. The difference between them is that the world of the inward-facing senses is relatively unprocessed by the brain, thus abstract and experienced inside of you, whereas the world of the outward-facing senses seems tangible and outside of you. That said, what the brain receives from the sensory system is nothing. The body and its aura are a fantasy. This includes the brain making it because there is no more than that which is One, and it takes more than one to make something. But within the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One, this is the fantasy Alexius’ Duality Hacks is using to expose that everything experienced is an imagination nobody is making or having. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The differentiation in Alexius’ Duality Hacks between the inward and outward-facing senses does not mean that they are two sensory systems. But that they are two different kinds of experiences: One perceived to be inside and the other as outside. It is, actually, the info from the same sensory system the brain claims to process into an inner or outer world, where the inner one seems abstract and the outer tangible. Read more about that here.

It has taken the brain one second to produce your current experience of the outer world (read more about that here), so if you go back one second, you get the unprocessed version of being someone who reads this now. At least theoretically speaking.

However, none of your experiences is based on information from the sensory system, as the brain claims. Nonetheless, most choose to trust the brain about this because otherwise, it is evident that all its experiences are processed from nothing, thus they are non-existent. In other words, the unprocessed version of reading this is nothing that the brain has twisted into something experienced by someone.

In this nothingness, you find the empty breath, which has not been processed into something by the brain. A split second before you reach the empty breath, you meet the brain’s first attempt to turn nothing into something. It is the abstractness of the world of the inward-facing senses. Almost a second later, the brain has processed the abstractness into your current experience of being someone substantial in the tangible world of the outward-facing senses reading this.

When indifferent to the belief in being someone, it feels good appearing to be that. This is until you are not indifferent to this belief anymore. Then it feels like hell.

In the connectedness with the empty breath, the world of the inward and outward-facing senses are synced with what and where you appear to be in the world of the outward-facing senses. But you probably do not sense the inner world when walking down the street, although it is from there you see the road and, therefore, do not perceive it to be something.

When you connect with the empty breath, the image fabricated by the brain of you as someone definitive is downplayed but still in play. Otherwise, there would not be somebody to experience the world of the inward-facing senses and the glimpses of the Enlightenment that may come from it. Read here how to have glimpses of Enlightenment. Your eyes do not need to be closed for this because while you have glimpses of the Enlightenment, the world of the outward-facing senses is automatically minimised.

You cannot experience the abstractness in the world of the inward-facing senses without partly being conscious of the image fabricated by the brain of you as someone definitive. Hence the empty breath synchs the world of the inward and outward-facing senses so that part of you still believes to be someone definitive. The only duality hack that immediately undoes this belief is the Enlightenment of that which is One. All other duality hacks do this over time, so you can enjoy the belief in being someone definitive while having it undone. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

No matter how the connection with the empty breath is experienced, you are in the bliss of nothing. However, this state of not-knowing cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most,** at a time if you want to return to the conscious experience of being someone because the brain falls into a coma if the communication with the self it has created is not upheld. Read more about that here.

Should you forget to return to the consciousness of being someone definitive, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. Read more about that in hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One. It terminates any experience you ever had of being someone, also the bliss of nothing, so there is nothing to hide there never was or will be more than that which cannot be experienced, namely the formlessness of oneness. Most, however, leave a state of not-knowing a long time before it is too late to return to the consciousness of being someone.

You do not need to understand the explanations about the inward and outward-facing senses to connect with the empty breath. Nor do you have to understand you are brought back one second in linear time. On the contrary, the less you know, the easier it is because you connect with the empty breath by not doing anything about how you feel, so the unedited energy can ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

If you insist on connecting with the empty breath in your own way and pace, you fence it off, because you are not in charge of anything except how you perceive it.

In other words, you must be willing to go with the flow of chaos into the empty breath, which realistically speaking means you should acknowledge you are not ready for that. Here you can read more about how accepting not to be willing to have the belief in being someone undone kickstarts the willingness to have it undone.

If you want to connect with the empty breath, do not try to collect data from this article into something meaningful but go with the confusion and uncertainty you may feel from reading it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The new age ideas about being still, centred, for example, are not going to help you with taking off into the empty breath. Those ideas are based on excluding something to obtain a specific experience, and there is nothing definitive about the empty breath. Actually, you do not even know when you are connected because you are in a state of not-knowing.

Please do not try to construct a picture of what you are reading about the empty breath so that you seem to understand it. There is not something to know because it is nothing. So stick to being confused. The unedited energy of that will ignite a take-off into the empty breath, so you, in one second, are filled with the bliss of emptiness.

Any unedited tension in the body or emotion in the psyche will ignite a take-off into the empty breath. This is as easy as going the flow of erotic energy until it explodes and you feel released.

However, this does not mean tensions and emotions magically disappear, when connecting with the empty breath. See The purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to heal the body but the belief that there is someone in it. But due to its indifference to a world of differences, nothing seems disturbing.

The conclusion is not that you should stop taking medicine to ease hay fever, for example. It may help you to relax. Therefore, since you go not suppress but face the stress and fear of feeling attacked, you can use the energy of this violent experience to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

Any other intense and unmodified experience, such as sex, can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Feeling depressed works also fine and just like other emotions, it vanishes in the connectedness with the empty breath. Or, to be more correct, it is the consciousness of you as someone definitive that fades out. Hence there is nobody to be in pain.

Take-off into the empty breath might be experienced to start at the top of the head as a gentle explosion of accumulated thoughts and feelings perceived as upsetting. This paves the way for the empty breath that greets you by expanding the body with empty space*, so it does not seem substantial and, therefore, does not differ from the nothingness of the empty breath. That is if you do not try to stop or edit thoughts and feelings because that takes off their edge and thus the raw power to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

Take-off into the empty breath only works to the extent that you are not occupied with being or having more in a material or immaterial way. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In the above take-off, you probably landed inside the operator of the empty breath. See the paragraph of the same name in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. But it could also have been in the swing of the empty breath. See the paragraph of the same name in the article What does the empty breath feel like? where you also can read about the other ways of feeling the empty breath. Physically speaking, the empty breath might be experienced to be an engine pumping emptiness from the gut or the chest. See Going everywhere and nowhere with the empty breath.

But as the connectedness with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing, there is nobody to know that you are connected with it. Thus the feeling of it, as described in What does the empty breath feel like? and the other articles about the empty breath are based on Alexius’ memories of it, which pop up when returning from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone definitive.

Should you, after having read the above, feel confused about what the empty breath is and how to connect with it, do not try to resolve this disorientation but go with the flow of its unedited energy until it ignites a take-off into the empty breath, and you feel a big smile expanding your body showered by a fountain of joy.

There is no right way to feel the empty breath. At first, it may not be felt in the exciting ways described in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. Actually, it may not be felt at all because its main attribute is indifference (read more about that here), and that is not a feeling. Yet, not feeling the stress that comes from believing to be someone definitive is a big relief.

Are you still confused and do not feel any connectedness with the empty breath, check the other articles in hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing about connecting with it or the more explanatory articles in hack #5.2 The empty breath and the bliss of nothing.

**) Read more about the duration of a state of not-knowing in A state of not-knowing, and how to get there.

The more something seems to speed up inside or outside of you without you trying to make sense of it, the less you experience yourself to be substantial. Hence there is not something preventing the empty breath, which is empty space* to fill you with the bliss of nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A NOTE ABOUT ALEXIUS:
The above way to connect with the empty breath is what Alexius has detected from his interaction with it. How that turned into the methods described in hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing, he does not know. But from testing the take-offs before writing about them, he knows that anything which seems to irritate or excite him can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, whether he sits on a bus, walk down a noisy street, or whatnot.

Check out Where Alexius’ Duality Hacks come from, if you want to read more about this.

Consequently, there is no need to repeat a mantra, have positive thoughts, and be still in unique surroundings with exceptional people to take off into the empty breath. Neither to stop thoughts. Actually, they are the fuel for the take-off.

You undo the belief in duality by enjoying it [draft]

Updated September 7, 2022

Anything perceived as good is just as bad because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. That is why you do not get the duality flow if you try to hold onto being hurt, for example, to prove you are a victim of somebody evil. Instead, you go with the interplay of feeling hurt and okay in which they define each other. Thus not tangible anymore but airy because that is the nature of the psychological sphere where they are identified. Consequently, they build up the duality flow. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

You need to be true to the nature of dualism to undo the belief that you are someone in a world of duality. Hence you should not go for singularity but twofoldness. If you try to stay in an unparalleled state of mind, you are unaccompanied. And since you can only depart from non-duality by envisioning there is more than one, this is also the way you return. Therefore, if you insist on singularity, you remain in the simulated world of duality.

NO FEELINGS ARE SINGULAR:
In the duality flow, it is not about what you feel but the interaction of that and its opposing part. To be in that flow, you start by being aware of one of the singular feelings you experience. Thus it reveals it contains its counterpart. For example, inside of love, there is hate. They need each other to be defined, and they do that by constantly interacting. Any minute though, hatred may show that it can also be defined by kindness. Then this twofoldness replaces the former until kindness reveals it can also complement selfishness. And so it goes until you want to make a difference and leave the duality flow by having an inner dialogue about being something remarkable.

Being that continues till you are fed up with the hectic stream of thoughts required to establish yourself as special. Hence what you feel can be perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ revealing your emotion is not singular but twofold, wherefore you are back in the duality flow.

The Earth goes around itself every day. Since it is solely a physical matter, everybody follows along regardless of their psychological issues. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If something seems to have gone wrong, you may panic and think about how to make it better. But, like you must follow the Earth on its predestined ride around the sun, you are bound follow the brain’s script for what and where you appear to be. Hence there is nothing you can change. See hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happyTherefore, instead of judging yourself for having failed, thus feeling inferior, go with the duality flow. Doing that, you feel complete becuse failure interacts with success.

Please be aware it is a waste of time looking for your present emotion in the body. It is solely physical, thus without anything psychological. You could also say the body is visible, whereas psychological emotions are invisible, and visibility and invisibility do not blend.

Since connecting psychological issues with physical ones is a fantasy, you undo it by reversing it.

So if you have projected emotional issues onto the body with the assumption that you can hide them there, you better start correcting this fantasy by recognising them where they were conceived, namely in the non-physical psychological sphere. Facing them there, they gently open up and reveal they are not singular but twofold. Thus there is no specific psychological issue to bother you.

The first time this happened for Alexius was during a gentle massage. But it was not until much later he put words to it and realised perceiving your present feeling in the psychological sphere as ‘it is what it is’ reveals it is not singular but twofold. Thus being in sync with duality, you feel completely relaxed.

If you suffer from somebody dying, you believe in separation. You do not correct this by replacing suffering with something pleasant. On the contrary. You acknowledge the suffering so it can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that reveals the feeling is not singular but twofold, you do not feel alone but together.

This is a picture of Alexius’ beloved cat Uma, who died only eight months old and left Alexius crying for ages. Fortunately, weeping is coupled with happiness, so crying makes him remember all the happy times they had together and still have in the airy psychological sphere where a meeting takes place. This does not mean he has no wish to see her physically. He longs for her. But then again, that feeling is in the psychological sphere, where she is. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Lately, it happened when Alexius’ cat died. Since he could feel the loss in his body, he knew something was wrong. However, a dead cat does not have the power to create sensations in his body. Therefore, as it could only be something he unconsciously had projected onto his body, he consciously brought it back into the psychological sphere. There the feeling of loss was revealed to be coupled with birth.

So although he had lost his cat, physically speaking, she was delivered to him in the psychological zone. Actually, she had been in that airy sphere all the time because whether a cat is alive or dead, you have no physical connection. Therefore, since Alexius got into the interaction of life and death in the psychological area, he felt happy/sad with his cat.

In other words, the death of his beloved cat turned out to be a blessing because it made it impossible for him to project psychological issues on her physical being. Hence, he and she got back into the psychological sphere, where they had been all the time and will remain until the experience of duality is over. It is not about beating off the body. On the contrary, it frees the body from mental ideas about integration with non-physical issues. Thus the body can blossom physically.

Furthermore, this approach makes it easy to return to non-duality because when the time comes for leaving duality, you return to non-duality as you left it alone together. See hack #7.1 Alone together, we go home.

To resume, if you want to feel good in a world of duality, do not use the body as a means to feel that. Happiness is in the psychological sphere, in an ongoing interaction with sadness. When you join their interplay, the duality flow vitalises you.

Even though Alexius’ cat Uma is dead, Alexius connects with her through this picture or any other memory because everything he believes in being is in the airy psychological sphere. Although he cannot see Uma there, physically speaking, he can feel what he experienced they had together. It is like listening to the ocean’s waves without seeing them. But at first, it was not what Alexius assumed they had together he got in touch with, but the sorrow of having missed her. However, this was only until he realised his mourning for Uma contained her. The moment she died in his arms and any other moment remains in the psychological zone. Thus Uma is as close as she always has been and will be. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A FEELING ALWAYS COMES WITH ITS COUNTERPART INSIDE IT:
Having the counterpart of a singular feeling revealed is not an intellectual process. First, you perceive the specific feeling as ‘it is what it is.’ Second, in a state of expectation, calling for nothing specific, you patiently wait a few seconds. Third, your singular feeling opens up, and its counterpart fills its space.

The transition is so gentle that you forget the initial feeling. But unlike that, the new one does not seem singular because it is defined by the first one. This change is as automatic as breathing in and out. One automatically leads to the other. However, you may forget the elements in a duality pair. But you do not forget how well-grounded and beloved you feel in the interplay of its opposites.

Every time you go with the interaction in a duality pair, breathing becomes so dynamic that more pairs shows up.

BEING VITALISED BY THE DUALITY FLOW:
At first, you may get to the duality flow through the perception, ‘it is what it is,’ but, after a while, you can recall it by memory. You choose to enjoy the interaction of the opposing element in a duality pair instead of dividing them into separate components assumed to be at odds. In other words, you choose to feel the abundance of the duality flow and not the scarcity of separation.

However, it took Alexius some time to not remain with one of the opposite sides in a duality pair but instead go with their interaction in which, like breathing in and out, they support each other. But unlike this duality pair, most are quickly replaced by another. Fortunately, that is not a problem. The duality flow comes from the constant movement between opposites in a duality pair regardless of the components. And this interaction always makes you feel complete.

Being in the duality flow is a bit like listening to the ocean’s waves. You feel vitalised. However, if you insist on doing things your way, you soon feel restless because something needs to be adjusted to make it look like everything is going your way. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The duality flow reminds Alexius of the physical sensation he remembers from childhood when he tried drinking coca-cola. It was like it turned his body into bubbles. His experience of the duality flow can also be described as his body being an ocean of waves gracefully going nowhere – or like drops of warm water gently touching the body. Sometimes it feels like a pendulum moves in different directions in a body with no definite border. Feelings, though, are personal, so your experience of the duality flow may differ from Alexius.’ Nevertheless, you know you are in the duality flow when you keep smiling for no particular reason.

That said, the duality flow is new to Alexius. It came to him late in writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks. He discovered it when he wrote a little article that slowly into the eleven pieces of hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

When you start perceiving your reaction to something as ‘it is what it is’, it is probably the revelation that it is not singular but twofold that blows your conditioned opinions away. But later on, it is the collaboration of opposites, resulting in the duality flow, that overflow every definitive statement.

In the beginning, he did not experience the duality flow. Instead, he remembered the hellish or heavenly feeling that comes from a single-minded perception. See Sadness is a close friend of gladness. But you probably surpass focussing on the individual components of the duality pairs much faster than Alexius did and quickly get the vitalisation of the duality flow because he has paved the way.

The idea of singularity does not apply to non–duality because for oneness to be experienced, there must be more than one, and there is no more than One in non-duality. Nor does the idea of oneness apply to a world of duality, as everything in it is twofold. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GOING WITH THE DUALITY:
None of the opposing elements in the duality flow remains for long. One can compare this to a seesaw on a playground, where one person goes up as the other goes down. If you try holding onto the top by avoiding going down, the feeling you get is fake because you need to go back and forth to define what is up and down – just like there is nothing to describe breathing in if you do not breathe out

Twofoldness is always the way in a world where there seems to be more than one. For example, walking requires two legs. And to take a step forward, you must include the past because it is the building stone for your future step. Therefore, if you exclude one of the legs, you cannot walk.

Likewise, if you exclude hate from love, you do not hit the road of duality. Hence you do not get the togetherness of twofoldness but the loneliness of singleness. This may feel like a non-concrete pain in the body, even though it does not come from there but from the psychological sphere. There you hold yourself spellbound by the idea that twofoldness can be separated into independent items, and hate, therefore, can be separated from love.

First, you imagine to dump your unwanted feelings in the body. Second, you tighten up the body to hide the feelings imagined you stored in it. Third, you interpret the tightened body as proof of having concealed your unwanted feelings there. Fourth, you forget all about it.

This you achieve by projecting your hatred onto a part of the body that you dislike. Then you lure yourself into believing you have gotten rid of hate by feeling it as a physical problem in the body. Finally, you render yourself unconscious of what you have done to see yourself as nothing but love. But emotions are abstract, and bodies are substantial, so assuming you can dump feelings in flesh and bones is absurd. In other words, since you cannot remove hatred from your awareness by dumping it in your body, what you assume to disturb you in the body is not there but in the psychological sphere.

Since the psychological area is abstract, you contact a repressed psychological emotion anywhere other than in something physical. There is no need to go down memory lane to find your forgotten feelings or understand why you attempted to hide them in the body. You simply perceive the disgust you repeatedly experience to something in the present as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus, as you know from reading the above, aversion is revealed to interact with sympathy, thus defining each other as your personal feelings.

Realising that all feelings are personal, everything happening is understood as impersonal. Therefore, suppressing specific feelings to hold onto a self-made version of the world defined by your views of right and wrong is over. Instead, you go with the duality flow.

Nobody has lasting emotions unless they suppress them by storing them in the body, so they seem to become substantial. But what you assume to get by doing this is not natural. Feelings are fleeting because they reside in the psychological zone, which is like air. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In this article, we have talked about a common way to get rid of emotions judged as wrong by dumping them in the body. But emotions deemed good are also dropped in the body. In this case, the body is not used to hide them but make them appear more substantial and lasting. Read more about that in You must play the game of duality to have it undone.

However, as endlessly repeated in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, non-duality is formless, thus endless, so duality is a fantasy, the brain likes to spin to entertain you with the experiences of twofoldness. Since non-duality is timeless, it takes no time to live out this fantasy.

Notes on ‘the duality flow’ 1/2 [draft]

Updated October 4, 2022

The basic self does not need to edit the experience of the world into something that complies with special concepts of being together in harmony, balance or whatnot. On the contrary, since everything it experiences is created by the brain, the basic self is together with everything, regardless of appearance. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you perceive yourself not as basic but as special, you constantly look for somebody to ratify your significance (read more about that here). But as closeness may reveal your need to meet others is egoistic, you substitute genuine feelings of togetherness with conceptualised ones. For example, you adjust to the table manners of a traditional dinner party, so you appear to be together without actually being close to anybody – or you buy popcorn and find a classic movie to see again with someone imagined close to you.

On the other hand, the basic self does not fear being exposed as phoney. It is not someone specific but relative to the moment put together by the experiences produced by the brain. Hence it has nothing to lose by genuinely feeling the present – nor if it seems frightening because fear is defined by calmness. Consequently, there is no genuine feeling of fear without a sense of calm and vice versa. Long story short, since you are in sync with your dualistic nature when your emotions are defined by their opposite, you feel amused following the interaction of opposites.

Practically speaking, you get into the interaction of opposites by not accepting fear as a specific feeling. However, that does not mean you should avoid it. On the contrary, you acknowledge it to perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals fear is not a specific feeling because it constantly interacts with its opposite, calmness. And since twofoldness is the nature of dualism, this establishes you as someone in a world of duality, wherefore you can hack it. Fortunately, going with the interaction of opposites, called the duality flow, you have fun while hacking duality. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

That said, when you are not interested in being special or accept going on automatic gear, you do not have to perceive specific feelings as ‘it is what it is.’ The brain automatically does it. Maybe not in those words. But you know specific feelings have been exposed as twofold because you cannot help but laugh when you feel the duality flow.

But you do not laugh when not in the duality flow because being stuck with a specific feeling makes you nervous. You probably feel it in the stomach because to only feel positive, for example, you suppress your negativity by projecting it onto a vulnerable part of the body, often the stomach. However, you do not need to know what you have suppressed to solve the problem of feeling confined by singleness. If you perceive your reaction to the upset stomach as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold. Since that makes you feel complete, you have nothing to worry about.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Comparing desiring for something with the drawback of getting it is a typical interplay of opposites in a world of duality. Going with this interaction, you feel complete, thus indifferent to the outcome. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Splitting a duality pair into two distinct elements by suppressing one of them, none of them is genuine anymore because they need each other to be defined. For example, positivity needs negativity to define it and vice versa. Therefore, since they both become conceptualised, thus enduring instead of fleeting, your perception of yourself is conditioned by them. Fortunately, as you already know, ‘it is what it is’ undoes your fixed idea about what you are.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You either breathe in or out. One excludes the other. Yet, they pave the way for one another. That is the way of the duality pairs.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you follow the nature of duality, it does not seem to have a hold on you, whereas fighting it makes you feel imprisoned. To go with duality is easy, you just stop holding onto something specific. That does not mean you cannot have a specific spouse but that your reaction to the other constantly is twofold.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self expects others not to question its story of greatness but to adapt to it so that the world appears ordinary and the special self is original. That is its way of hiding it feels inferior. However, if not hiding that, feeling worthless can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus revealing it is coupled with feeling extraordinary, and they define each other in constant interaction, wherefore you get a genuine feeling, not a conceptual one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your attitude to something is single-minded, you get a specific peak experience. But this does not go on for long because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Thus being at the top is soon replaced by being at the bottom. On the other hand, if your approach to something is dualistic, you do not head specifically for the top but for the constant interplay of the highest and the lowest. Thus you are the duality flow, which may not be as exciting an experience as solely being at the top. However, it continues to amuse you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The duality flow depends not on the specific elements in a duality pair but on the resilient energy between them – like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you want positivity, you must also welcome negativity because everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. In non-duality, you can neither have negative nor positive vibes because it requires more than one to have something. Since that also applies to having a shape, non-duality is formless, thus endless, wherefore a world of duality is an illusion. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you feel you have nowhere to go and do not perceive it as a particular state of mind but a dualistic one containing nowhere and everywhere to go, you are in the duality flow. The same applies if you go with the interplay of irritation and relaxation. But the duality flow is not about the opposing elements in the duality pairs but their interaction. That is what makes you feel complete – just like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you feel alive.

And like the opposing elements in the breath depend on each other, so do the components in other duality pairs. Thus you can only feel positive when contrasted with negativity. So if you are not in the constant interplay of positivity and negativity, what you believe in feeling when you claim to be positive is a concept conjured up by distancing yourself from negativity via meditation, for example. That is like separating yourself from either breathing in or out. You need them both to survive.

In short, the solution to everything in a world of duality is to keep the duality pairs intact so that the duality flow can vitalise you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Excluding negativity, darkness, anger or whatever do-gooders have told prevents you from feeling good, destroys the foundation of duality. It is made by dividing everything into pairs such as positive and negative, light and dark, anger and delight. But since it takes more than one to destroy something, you also enhance the belief in duality.

You can solve this ambivalence by playing the game of duality or undoing it. You play the game of duality by perceiving your negative reaction to something as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception reveals negativity paired with positivity. However, it is not positivity that satisfies you but the interaction of that and negativity. Especially because it sets off the interplay of other pairs of duality. Thus you are in the duality flow.

One way to undo the game of duality is to keep playing it because everything with a beginning is bound to end. However, that seems to take some time, so if you want to undo it right away, apply hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

That something is ugly is not a fact, but how you have decided to perceive it. This singular Interpretation prevents you from seeing it as it is. Everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality, so what you see is as beautiful as it is ugly. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to choose between good and evil in the duality flow. They complement each other. Therefore, since one is not better than the other, there is nothing to judge, thus not something to establish fear as a specific feeling. Instead, you feel it is interacting trust.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being in the duality flow, you forget about what you were used to being. It was based on single-minded concepts, and you are not someone specific in the duality flow but relative to the constant movement between opposites. See also The basic self is relative to the brain, thus without egoistic intentions.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Everything comes in pairs of opposing components that lean on each other in a world of duality. Thus splitting them into independent elements to hold onto just one of them is impossible. Yet, it is possible to imagine you can get rid of your negativity by projecting it onto others to appear solely positive yourself. However, you feel sluggish since this mental stance is achieved by repressing part of yourself. On the other hand, following the duality flow brings about energy because the constant interaction of opposing elements is the natural state of duality.

If you are into being and having the best, the duality flow experience may be a continuous movement between the best and the worst. Should you want to be spiritual, the motion is most likely between that and materialism. The duality flow could also go between hope and hopelessness or between whatever you hold dear and what you fear.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the perception ‘it is what it is’ reveals that every experience is twofold and you are in a world of duality, it brings about completeness. However, as everything comes in pairs, completeness is coupled with incompleteness. No worries, you are neither whole nor fragmented but in the constant motion between these opposites – just like when one end of a see-saw goes up, the other goes down.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When someone is hurt in a movie you watch, you may also feel pain and relief when the problem is fixed. But since the film is not perceived as real, it seems entertaining to participate in its ups and downs. That is how it is to be connected with the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

What you must prepare for automatically pops up when following the duality flow. Should things not proceed as expected, you are not afraid of getting upset because you know everything comes in pairs. Therefore, the duality flow continues since your concern is complemented with unconcern. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Having established ‘it is what it is’ as your default perception, you are always in the togetherness of the duality flow, thus feeling plentiful instead of needy when separating the duality pairs into separate components.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The satisfaction you get from being in the duality flow is unlike what you get from something perceived as specific. That is because you are always afraid of losing that, whereas it is impossible to lose the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, there is no sense in searching for something specific. That is such a relief.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you want the satisfaction of the duality flow, it is essential not to focus on anything specific. The same applies if you wish to undo the belief in duality. Therefore, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ cancels out anything specific, you kill two birds with one stone by applying it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

None of the opposing elements in the duality pairs is essential. Instead, their interaction matters because it constitutes the duality flow. You will follow it when you are tired of feeling incomplete.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A long time ago, Alexius conditioned himself to hide his sorrow behind justified anger and disgust. That changed when he did not try to hide or rationalise his grief but perceived his reaction to it as ‘it is what it is,’ Then, he sensed that a little boy was floating on waves of sweet nectar inside his sorrow.

Therefore, since he saw sorrow was paired with mellowness, he did not try to fence off the grief anymore to feel good. Actually, sadness automatically triggers the happiness inside it. Hence being in the interaction of happiness and sadness became his basic experience of the duality flow.

Notes on perceptions [draft]

Updated September 13, 2022

When experiences are not seen as something, there is nothing to be excited about. Hence there is no expectation of something to prevent the bliss of nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the brain’s script. But if you start to analyse your response and conclude, ‘I know what it is,’ you are not in sync. However, you cannot know anything because you do not know what you are and never will because you are a fantasy of the brain. Read about the brain’s script in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There is no meaning in your experiences, nor are they yours. It is an illusion created by the brain, which generates all experiences, so the self it has fabricated believes it sees, hears, feels and tastes something outside of itself. It is easy to deceive the self into believing this because if not, there is nothing to confirm its existence.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences you believe in having will continue as scripted by the brain, regardless of how you perceive them. But since the brain loves you and thus injects you with shots of happiness, it is in your own best interest if your perception is in sync with the brain because otherwise, you do not notice the shots.

If you want a break from the brain, you perceive the experiences it produces as ‘dunno what it is.’ Hence you enter into a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. However, this does not mean the brain’s script changes but that you are indifferent to it because there is no need to be confirmed as somebody.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The more you perceive your responses to your experiences as ‘it is what it is,’ the more carefree you feel. Perhaps so much that your perception automatically changes to ‘dunno what it is,‘ which may bring about glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read here how to see, hear, feel or taste glimpses of Enlightenment.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Non-duality is formless, thus without beginning and end. But that does not mean it includes the experience of duality. On the contrary, formlessness cannot be experienced, so everything experienced is an illusion. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to use the same phrases for the perceptions mentioned in HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end to participate in the game of duality, deny it, take a break, or totally forget it. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ As long as the essence is alike, the perception works the same. That said, the perception ‘I know what it is’ only works in the sense that it makes you feel special. You are still what and where the brain wants you to be, which you do not try to change when you go with the perception, ‘it is what it is.’

You leave the brain’s script by choosing the perception’ dunno what it is,’ you leave the brain’s script. Not in a sense that you are not what and where the brain has planned, but you do not perceive your experience of it as something because you are in the bliss of nothing.

Read more about the perceptions it is what it is, I know what it is and dunno what it is in hack #4.2 The brain´s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

To uphold the perception ‘I know what it is,‘ you got to suppress your actual response to an experience. Still, it never works as intended because you are not all-seeing and knowing. The two other perceptions do not involve denial. On the contrary, your response to something cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is,‘ or ‘dunno what it is,’ if you deny your reaction. Yet, they do not work if you intend to get something over and done.

However, this can be solved by perceiving the response to your plan as ‘it is what it is.’ It flushes out any idea of achieving something specific. On the other hand, if your response is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ there is not something to accomplish because you are in the bliss of nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Do not hide your reaction to something by making a story in which you are unimpressed or detached. Instead, feel your response, so you can decide what it means and perceive that as ‘it is what is.’ This expands the interpretation of your reaction, so it is not limited to you being angry, for example, but complemented with being calm. Since twofoldness makes you feel fulfilled, you have no urge to uphold a single-minded image of yourself. Thus, sooner or later, you forget what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One has been waiting for. Read more about that in hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When your reaction to something is sadness, and it is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you also get happiness. First of all, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. But also, if something has not made you happy at some point, it cannot make you sad. For example, when your cat dies, your sadness is related to the happiness you felt when it was alive.

Should you, instead, make the perception ‘I know what it is,’ when your cat dies and what you believe to know is this is sad, you must exclude gladness to prove you are exclusively sad. But without gladness, sadness cannot be defined. Therefore, since what you believe in knowing to feel is a thought-up concept of sadness, it is fake.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Just like the twofoldness of breathing in and out makes you feel alive, you feel fulfilled when psychological duality pairs, such as love and hate, dynamically interact. However, since this interaction takes away the sense of control, most choose to separate hate from love by projecting romanticised love onto one person and iron-fisted hate onto another. Insisting on this division, they miss the joy of togetherness because it does not come from a singular but dualistic feeling.

But they get that joy when the meaning they have assigned to hatred is perceived as ‘it is what it is.‘ For example, if they have classified hate as a weakness, this perception reveals it is paired with strength. And this polarity, like any other, brings about the joy of togetherness. Thus there is no need to project a pleasant image of love or an unpleasant one of hate onto others. Consequently, others are free from the conceptual way you used to look at them.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you feel sad and do not experience the gladness it contains, you have chosen to perceive your reaction to something as ‘I know what it is.’ instead of ‘it is what it is.Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A feeling can only be known when explained. And since that makes it mental, you are benumbed when your perception is ‘I know what it is,’ To make up for that, you indulge in stories of a better future.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To perceive anything as ‘I know what it is‘ is as crazy as thinking you know where you are in a dream. You are nowhere but in your bed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In a computer game, everything is predetermined. No matter what you choose to do, the subsequent events are prearranged, likewise in a world of duality. You can choose between different stories going on inside your head. But regardless of which one you settle for, it carries on as scripted by the brain. You cannot change that. However, you are free to perceive your reaction to it as you see fit.

If your perception is that ‘it is what it is,‘ it is experienced as two-fold. And since you are in a world of duality, you feel unified with it. But if you perceive your reaction as I know what it is,’ it is seen as singular, thus separated from duality. Hence you do not feel together but alone. Unfortunately, most think the solution to this is to get rid of duality.

Yet, it is the other way around. Playing the game of duality, you confirm non-duality because it is formless, thus endless, so there is no other reason for the experience of duality. Thus you feel connected.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always makes an explanation that seems to confirm the perception ‘I know what it is.’ This enhances its conditioned view of the world and the fear of being wrong. But if you do not try to explain anything, you never need to correct or deny something to maintain you are right. Since ‘It is what it is,‘ you have nothing to worry about.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If memories from your childhood are the basis for your perception of a movie you watch as a grown-up, you are out of sync with its plot. Therefore, it seems to make you frustrated rather than entertained. Fortunately, this is corrected right away if you perceive the plot, or your judgment of it, as ‘It is what it is.

This perception makes the plot amusing no matter how it evolves because you are in sync with it as it is and not as you think it is. Likewise, when the brain’s script is perceived as ‘It is what it is.

When you do not identify yourself as definitive but relative to the present moment, there is no need to make specific opinions to confirm you are someone definitive. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you do not feel complete, you have been messing with the duality pairs by perceiving their opposing parts as items independent of each other. Since that is your choice, you can undo it to feel complete. Read more about choosing in hack #2.2 Choosing or not. Having done that a few times, you establish every moment is the perfect moment regardless of what and where you appear to be. In other words, if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you do not wait for a better moment. This one is perfect as it is.

As that means you never wait for something better, the continuation of duality eventually comes to an end. Hence it does not appear to be hiding, there never was or will be anything but non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular and therefore cut off from their complementary part, you appear to judge yourself and others as incomplete. Consequently, you get the urge to improve something to feel complete.

Yet nobody but yourself has made single-minded comments about what is right and wrong that seem to establish what one can do. Fortunately, these rules do not need to be identified to set yourself and others free from your confinement. Instead, you perceive your present comment about somebody as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. Perhaps you do not catch the elements of this duality pair because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh, while new duality pairs, like waves in the ocean, hastily but without haste, wash away your narrow-minded opinions.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you feel something is missing in music compressed into an MP3 file, you can get the same music in a non-compressed version. If you still feel something missing, you can get better speakers, wires and whatnot. And if that is not enough to satisfy you, live music might be the way.

But no matter how the music is presented, you never feel satisfied if you assume a specific music experience will make you feel complete. Everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, so you cannot feel complete unless your reaction to something is twofold. Therefore, when your response to the music is twofold, you feel fulfilled, regardless it is compressed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Everything unfolds as scheduled, regardless of your negative or positive thoughts. You have no say in this. However, you can perceive your response to the adventure of duality, so you are in sync with it, thus feeling whole. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Seeing the sun going up and down is a hallucination. »The sun stays positioned at the centre of our solar system. So it does not rise and set. But it appears to rise and set because the Earth rotates on its axis,« says science.

This rotation happens at 1.000 miles an hour. Whether you believe in being positive or negative, seeing the sun rise and set or whatnot, you rotate with the Earth at the same speed, besides hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. In other words, you proceed in alignment with the playbook of the universe.

The brain is in charge of that. You cannot change its script. But you believe in knowing better, thus perceiving the brain’s duality scheme per your singularity philosophy. However, since everything is twofold in a world of duality, your perception is out of sync with the brain’s plot, wherefore you feel incomplete. On the other hand, if you do not try to manage the brain’s playbook of duality, the constant interaction of opposites makes you feel complete.

Being in sync with the brain’s script is not a matter of responding positively to its plot but not hiding your reaction because your response is revealed as twofold when exposed. For example, if you feel upset because the scheme does not unfold per your ideas of fairness, you do not disassociate yourself from feeling troubled. Instead, you perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Therefore, since its counterpart is revealed, you feel troubled but untroubled for a moment. Hereafter, you feel complete because you are in the duality flow, thus in sync with the brain’s script of duality.

But since the duality flow is the constant interaction of opposites, you do not get it by meditating but by being physically active in an uncontrolled fashion, for example Nordic Walking. It makes it hard to initiate something yourself, so it is great for going with the duality flow

Over time the duality flow goes to non-duality. That is the end of all experiences, as it takes more than one to be aware of being someone. Consequently, you are not there and never were anywhere because that requires more than one. Still, you are everywhere because non-duality is formless, thus endless.

You get a preview of non-duality by taking a break from duality. However, like a movie trailer is not the whole movie, this preview is not the real thing because non-duality is endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

While appearing to be someone in a world of duality, you can take a break from it to have a preview of non-duality – for example, via a state of not-knowing (hack #5.2) or glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One (hack #6.2). During such a break, you are in the bliss of nothing, which feels like walking on clouds, even though you may be walking along a busy street. But since it calls for more than one to feel something, the preview is like a movie trailer which is not the movie. In other words, the preview of non-duality is a simulation.

However, the experience of duality falls apart after 20 minutes, 45 at most, if you do not constantly confirm it. Read more about that here. Therefore, since all experiences are twofold, the experience of being someone is over. Hence you can only take small breaks from duality if you want to return to the fantasy of being someone. In that case, you better stay with the duality flow, experiencing being someone enjoying the constant interaction of opposites while gently having the belief in duality phased out.

You can also have fun with twofoldness while having the belief in duality undone by applying hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation and/or hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness. Those hacks, like the duality flow, are based on the acknowledgement of duality, so, contrary to taking a break from it, they do not surpass duality unless applied with so much devotion that you are blown out, thus not somebody any more.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Every moment is the perfect moment in non-duality because it is one perpetual present. In a world of duality, that is simulated by a state of not-knowing where experiences are not perceived to make a difference.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular, thus cut off from their complementary part, you feel incomplete. But if you perceive your single-minded comments as ‘it is what it is,’ they open up and reveal themselves as twofold, thus making you feel complete. You may not catch the opposing elements of the duality pairs that unfold because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh while waves of polarities hurriedly but calmly wash away your narrow-minded conclusions.

Notes on feelings [draft]

Updated September 22, 2022

Pinching yourself in the arm, the brain registers a physical feeling. Hence you conclude, that you are alive. But since the brain creates the experience of the physical sensation, this conclusion does not prove you exist as someone substantial in a tangible world outside the brain – just like regardless of where you experience being in a dream, you are not there but in your bed. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

»If you’re sitting in a safe and comfortable position, close your eyes and try to feel your heart beating in your chest. Can you, without moving your hands to take your pulse, feel each movement and count its rhythm? Or do you struggle to detect anything at all? This simple test is just one way to assess your ‘interoception’ – your brain’s perception of your body’s state, transmitted from receptors on all your internal organs … There’s a constant communication dialogue between the brain and the viscera (internal organs).«

The above test if the connection between the brain and the body works in you. It is from an article in the Guardian, Interoception: the hidden sense that shapes wellbeing. Like in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, the article concludes that many people have cut off the link between the body and the brain. And since the latter controls the body, it is left without guidance.

According to Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, this connection must be re-established so the body parts do not act independently of the brain but work as a group governed by it. But the article in the Guardian has another conclusion. It says you need to master the body, and in doing so, you are in touch with its signals and thus your feelings because they are in the body.

But believing you are the master is the root of the problem. To become a master, the natural connection between the body and the brain must be cut off to take over the governing of the body and impose your ideas of what you are and feel. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

This is ridiculous because what you believe in being and feeling is based on selected experiences produced by the brain. You are nothing but a product fabricated and conducted by the brain. Thus feelings do not come from the heart, like you may claim, or anywhere else than the brain. It governs the body and what you appear to be – also if that is perceived as spiritual.

For sure, you fall off the planet if you interfere with gravity. And you mess up the body when you disrupt or meddle with its ongoing communication with the brain. In short, in the game of duality, the brain is the game master. You cannot change that, but you can have plenty of fun following the game master. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Therefore, to feel good as someone in the game of the brain, you must step aside and let it do its thing. This does not mean you do not engage in the game but that you have no intention of changing it. Like when you play a computer game. You cannot change it. But since you are engaged in the plot, you feel entertained.

To spell it out, you are not a master but a servant. You serve the brain by perceiving your reaction to the experiences it produces as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. Therefore, since the world of the brain is dual, you are in sync with it, which feels natural.

However, if you do not want to play the game of duality, you are free to leave it. But you cannot do that unless you play it. And since participating involves feeling it dualistically, we go on in the below looking at feelings.

As usual, we do not begin anywhere specific or end with a conclusion. Alexius’ Duality Hacks has nothing to establish because they know they are as illusionary as anything else in a world of duality. Still, reading the below ragbag of clips may help you see that this includes what you believe in being.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

This article is not about Enlightenment or the reality of oneness, but the duality rules because you have opted for duality instead of non-duality. And to undo this decision entirely, you must live fully with the duality rules. Fortunately, this is easy when you do not suppress aggression, for example, but go with the interaction of that and peace as you go with breathing in and out.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot breathe out before you breathe in and vice versa. In other words, you cannot have one without the other. This is how duality works. Everything comes in pairs. Acknowledging that, you feel complete. But you feel incomplete if you try to divide the pairs into separate elements.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To prevent being touched by the duality flow, you ensure everything in your environment is adjusted to the rules of Feng Shui or another totalitarian system. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you want to undo the belief in duality, denying feelings by focusing on their energies is not helpful because the belief is based on feeling it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The main reason most suppress negative feelings is not the fear of others but themselves. This is because they fear negative emotions are dangerous to express. It often starts in childhood. For example, when Alexius was a kid, his father beat him if he said or did something his father judged offensive. Thus Alexius was afraid to voice his negative emotions accidentally.

But just like the negative pole in electricity is as important as the positive one. You need negative feelings as much as positive ones in a world of duality. If you avoid the negative ones, you deteriorate, whereas you blossom if you approve of them. Read more about that in Alexius’ Childhood.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since that which is One is formless, thus endless, that which is you is the same. Therefore, appearing to be someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion. And so is any perception of oneness there. Yet, many try to replicate it by having one love, home, god and so on.

However, a world where there seems to be more than one needs contrasts to be experienced. Thus everything comes in pairs of opposing elements. You cannot change this. But you can suppress negativity, for example, to appear indivisibility positive. But since this singleness is constructed by excluding something, it is not based on oneness but on separation. Thus it entails loneliness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot experience something as positive without judging something else as negative. Thus the negative thoughts are a confirmation of the positive ones and vice versa.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not breathe in and out to find a balance between expansion and contraction. Neither do you need to find a balance between body and brain. What you need is to let the brain do its thing so you, in a laid-back fashion, can enjoy being someone in its game of duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You will be mistaken about yourself if you do not side with both up and down. Feeling down without getting the interaction of that and going up, you feel sad. Mainly going up and using it to deny feeling down, you feel insecure. But if you go with the interaction of up and down, you are not definitive but relative. Thus you are neither happy nor sad but happy/sad. However, only for a moment because another soon replaces that polarity, so you keep feeling vitalised by the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To feel something definitive is to separate. Hence you stop separating when you do not insist on feeling something specific. This is done by perceiving the meaning you assigned to your response to something as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals that what you decided it meant is not set in stone because its counterpart complements it. So if you thought you were sad, it turns out you are also happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling wrong is your own decision because your emotions are shaped by how you perceive your reaction to something. But if you decide not to perceive your reaction as specific, the brain automatically takes over and perceives it as ‘it is what it is.’ And since the brain operates in pairs, your reaction is twofold. Therefore, as sadness is paired with happiness, you are in the interplay of happiness and sadness. This polarity, like any other, makes you feel complete.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

No matter what you plan, visualise or realise, everything plays out as programmed by the brain. You have no say in that. But you choose how to perceive it. So if you feel you suffer, you have chosen to perceive the brain’s play in a way that seems evil.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you hand your interpretation of something over to the brain, it will shape it so you feel entertained because that is the purpose of everything it sets in motion.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you do not project psychological issues onto the body, they do not seem to be hidden from your awareness. Hence you can perceive your reaction to them as ‘it is what it is,’ revealing it is twofold. Therefore, since nothing specific seems to make you suffer, there is no pain to project onto the body. Instead, it stays in the psychological sphere. But not for long because it is an airy sphere, so everything there is fleeting.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It´s very easy to choose not to store thoughts, so you are empty, if you don´t have a need to uphold a certain image of yourself.

If you are full of thoughts, you are busy assigning meaning to your experiences. However, none of your experiences means anything. Their only purpose is to entertain you. Being that, there is no need to look for thoughts to explain something. Hence you do not have a bad time. On the contrary, you feel amused. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you believe you suffer because of something, you are mistaken. Suffering comes from the way you have decided to interpret something. Therefore, if you suffer, you have chosen to assign specific experiences with a meaning that seems hurtful.

It is not solved by changing your interpretation but by not insisting that it is definitive. This you achieve when perceiving your conditioned explanation as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals it is not on its own. Instead, it is coupled with its counterpart. And since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, you feel at home when you realise your interpretation is twofold.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

None of your psychological feelings is caused by something or somebody in the world that appears to be outside of you. Nothing but yourself has the power to make you suffer. So if you feel desperate, something in you bothers you because it disturbs the image you have made of yourself. In other words, if you do not want to suffer, do not try to be somebody specific.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since what and where you experience being in the world of a dream is not there, the effect it seems to have on you is produced in yourself. The same applies to what you feel in the physical world. Your memories cause all feelings. Anger, for example, only appears to be caused by a world outside of you because you project this and other emotions onto it to construct a coherent and meaningful story, where your feelings seem to prove you are alive. But your fable is just as absurd as your dreams.

There is nothing to learn from your experiences, whether they seem to be dreamy, mundane or spiritual. Their only purpose is to make you feel entertained, which they do when perceived as twofold.

The above does not mean that physical life is a dream because, within the context of physical life, someone has a dream, but nobody has a physical life. Oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing physical, nor anybody making a story about it as that takes more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should noisy music from the neighbour seems to make you upset, it is not because of the music but the feelings going on in you at that moment. If your response to those feelings is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it turns out to be twofold. Hence you feel disturbed but also stimulated. This interchange of opposites is the duality flow. Read more about that in the following articles.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Negativity is just as needed as positivity. A computer, for example, only functions when connected to both the negative and positive poles in an electrical wire. Polarity is the name of the game, which you must adhere to if you want to be in a world of duality. Also, if you wish to leave this game, you cannot do that if you are not playing it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

What you feel comes not from your present experience. Instead, it is shaped by a feeling you already have, often a suppressed one but for sure an old one. In other words, you are already unhappy if something seems to make you sad. Based on what you already feel inside, you interpret the experience of something outside you, so it seems to have caused your sadness.

Fortunately, you do not have to change this pattern to solve this confusion. Nor do you need to understand where your suffering comes from and why you hold onto it. All you need is to acknowledge you are mistaken. There is no sadness in a world of duality because everything is twofold in such a world. So if you do not insist on feeling specifically sad, its counterpart pops up. Hence you feel happy/sad.

A way to undo having distinctive feelings is to perceive a specific feeling as ‘it is what it is.’ As already said, this reveals it is not singular but twofold. Thus you are in the duality flow, where you remain as long as you acknowledge that all your previous opinions are wrong, thus making you sad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To feel is not to exist because it takes more than one to feel something, and life is that which is One. In other words, it is not possible to feel something unless one imagines being in a world where there seems to be more than one. Can you feel it? Of course, you can. You are reading this. That means you think it is possible to be and have more than that which is One, and you uphold this illusion as ‘real’ by feeling it.

You undo this mistake by acknowledging what you feel. Next, you perceive your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your response is not singular but twofold. Then, you do not focus on the two elements making up your reaction but go with their interaction, which is the duality flow. Remaining in that, you feel so complete that the experience of more than one is eventually dismissed as real.

You must play the game of duality to hack it [draft]

Updated October 5, 2022

First, Alexius thought his fear was caused by his father, who often exploded in anger and beat him when he was a child. Next, Alexius assumed he caused it himself because he was afraid of not being good enough. Then he stopped looking for a cause. And as there is no effect without a cause, the fear is gone. Thus he is free to go with the duality flow. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article continues the previous one, Alexius’ childhood, where his one-sided perception of his childhood was revealed as twofold. In this article, we take a more general look at how to be in sync with duality.

Alexius became aware that everything is pretence when he was around six years old, lying on the floor while his father kicked him. Alexius was not scared, but he hated his father and wanted to punish him for his violent behaviour. Thus Alexius tried figuring out how to pretend he was frightened, so his father could see the horror he had caused in his rage against Alexius, who accidentally had let his bird out of the cage.

Instinctively Alexius began to tremble to make his father realise he tormented Alexius. If his father became aware of his cruelty, Alexius does not know. But he knows now that making the body tremble to appear scared turned out to be very bad for Alexius. It taught him how to react when he felt abused. So since then, involuntary movements of his muscles have been going on in most relations with authorities. Fortunately, his duality hacks have helped his body understand that spasms are unnecessary because Alexius is free to go with the duality flow.

However, as promised in the last article and the beginning of this one, this piece is not about Alexius’ past and his way to the duality flow but how you get there and go with it to the end of duality.

When you interpret something as beautiful, you will also see something deemed ugly. Opposing contrasts are the way of duality. But you are not going to feel the satisfaction that comes from twofoldness if you try to correct or remove the ugliness so you can hold onto a singular view of beauty.

Twofoldness occurs as automatic as breathing in is followed by breathing out – and it feels as satisfying. Accepting this polarity, it is soon replaced by another. And since you, therefore, are in the duality flow, you feel vitalised. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since everything is twofold in a world of duality, a singular impression, such as love, is fake. That is why you feel disconnected when you hold onto feeling that. But, no worries, this is easily corrected. First, you perceive your fixed impression as ‘it is what it is.’ Then, in a state of expectation calling for nothing specific, your special feeling gently turns inside out and unveils its counterpart inside it. In this case, love gently opens, and hate quietly comes out. However, like breathing in and out does not happen simultaneously, love and hate are not felt at the same time.

The love you feel is defined by hate, which is determined by love. Thus you see, there is no true love without hatred and vice versa. Should you, out of habit, suppress hatred to hold onto a specific memory of love, you feel disconnected until you remember that you only feel connected when you do not separate love and hate.

You may not observe the transition from love to its counterpart hate, just like you generally overlook that breathing in is replaced by breathing out. Consequently, it probably takes time to acknowledge the constant movement between the opposing poles of duality – in this case, love and hate. And it may take more time to sense the duality flow that, like rolling waves without highs and lows, moves throughout the body (read more about that here).

Nevertheless, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ syncs you with the duality, you immediately feel connected. However, this perception does not sync with duality if you assume your response to an experience is the same as the experience. For example, when your nostalgic reaction to a photograph from your hometown is mistaken for the image, nostalgia is not understood as something you feel, but a description of the image is. Hence, you use the perception ‘it is what it is’ to suppress your sentimentality to appear distant from the world proved to be as you see it.

Duality can be compared to taking a ride on a rollercoaster. If you suppress the experience of going down, going up becomes boring, whereas having eyes wide open and experiencing both ways, they enhance each other. Hence you feel thrilled.

In other words, when you accept the constant interaction between up and down, you laugh when feeling on top because you are not afraid of falling down. And you cry when you feel going down but without the fear of being stuck there. Consequently, you have a splendid time in a world of duality regardless of feeling up or down.

But in a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements. Since they constantly interact, like going up and down on a rollercoaster, there is no middle-of-road. Thus your perceived neutrality makes you feel incomplete.

That something is ugly is not a fact but how you decide to perceive it. However, this singular Interpretation prevents you from seeing it as it is because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you have used your body to suppress hate, you set yourself free from the stiffness, used to maintain your stylised expression of love, by perceiving your reaction to your rigid body as ‘it is what it is.’

Since this reveals your response is twofold, there is no particular response to uphold the awareness of a stiffness in the body coupled with your inflated idea of love. Therefore, as your special love is replaced a sense of nothingness, you cannot help but laugh.

So if you wish to feel the completeness of twofoldness, it is not your experience of something that you perceive as ‘it is what it is.‘ Instead, it is the specific response you determine your experience brings about. Therefore, if you decide your reaction to having been rejected is sadness, you perceive that as ‘it is what it is.That reveals your response is not one-sided but twofold. Thus sadness does not settle into definite grief but gently opens up and reveals gladness inside it.

In other words, when the definitive meaning you have assigned to a response is perceived as ‘it is what it is,its opposite is revealed. That is not a metaphor. Literally speaking, you feel sadness replaced by gladness, not quickly but gradually, and as automatic as breathing in is followed by breathing out.

However, you are probably so used to hiding the interpretation of your responses that it takes a while before you notice you always choose a single-minded one. But when you become aware of that and perceive the definitive meaning you assigned to your response as ‘it is what it is,’ it opens up, and, as already said, its counterpart unfolds from inside it. And since this is not a singular but dualistic experience, it does not appear to be exclusively right or wrong, thus generating neither pleasure nor worry. Instead, it brings about a satisfaction that remains no matter what happens because it does not depend on something specific.

The perception ‘it is what it is’ does not set you free from ange but free to experience it paired with delight. In other words, this perception does not sets you free from duality but free to enjoy it. Actually, so much that you, someday, forget to remember it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A hint: Your single-minded reaction to something is often caused by fear, feeling attacked, furious or hopeless. Thus you want to fight or hide until what you feel is perceived as ‘it is what it is.That reveals the opposite feeling and if you do not hold onto that, it is not about something specific but the resilient energy between opposites, like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down.

This is the the duality flow. Since it is not a sensational feeling of adventure but a gentle sense of pleasure, you may fail to notice it if you are new to the duality flow. Nevertheless, you will definitely notice that the present moment feels fine regardless your appearance.

That does not mean you do not respond with sadness if you feel rejected by somebody. But since your reaction is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it does not settle into a definite feeling of grief. On the contrary, it interacts with gladness. If you accept this interplay of the opposing emotions in this polarity, another twofoldness rapidly replaces it. Thus you are in the duality flow.

Had you not perceived your response as ‘it is what it is,’ but made up a story in which you seemed exclusively sad in the way you assume others expect you to look when rejected, what you believe in feeling is speculative. Maybe shame is what you actually feel, but since it is suppressed, you cannot experience the interaction of shame and shameless.

Hence you do not feel the togetherness of twofoldness but the unfriendliness of separation. Most try to cut it off from their awareness by hiding it behind a sensitive part of the body, the chest for example. So when a psychological problem in the future triggers the hidden dissatisfaction, they can interpret the resulting feeling of unease in the chest as a physical issue. Thus, their past and current dissatisfaction are hidden from their awareness. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

You must judge something as inharmonious to know when you experience something harmonious. But as most people thereafter exclude the inharmonious, there is not something to define the harmonious experience. Consequently, what they get is an intellectual idea about harmony.

To justify your hatred, something interpreted as outside of yourself is judged vicious. But perceiving this judgment as ‘it is what it is,’ you see that it is not singular but dual. Viciousness is complemented by gentleness so that they can define each other. And hate defines love, so you are only genuinely affectionate when your hatred is acknowledged. Since the experience of twofoldness is fulfilling, someday, there is no need to search for more, thus not believing that you are in a world where there seems to be more than one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

There are, of course, instances where you feel relieved when someone leaves you. Hence you may want to extend that feeling by combining it with a sensitive part of the body, the chest for example. Thereupon you assume any physical sensation in the chest is caused by a psychological feeling, namely the sense of relief. But since that feeling is defined by pain, and you exclude that, you do not genuinely feel relieved.

When you anticipate your friends’ opinions about what goes on, it seems like a specific emotion is established. Especially if you spin a story about this feeling that you present in a severe tone of voice enhanced by body language illustrating the feeling. Women often use this trick to appear to feel something distinctive, although their emotions are suppressed. On the other hand, most men think it is great having their feelings cut off. Hence they are not distracted by them. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

What you believe in feeling is a concept of being relieved. So if it says you must smile satisfyingly to show something unpleasant is over, you do that to convince yourself and others that you feel relieved. Or maybe you compose a story in which you appear to have been freed from something terrible in how your friends expect this to come about, so they can confirm you feel relieved.

To sum up, when your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it is not limited to a single-minded interpretation like shyness. Instead, you go back and forth between that and its contrast confidence, so the opposing elements can define each other, thus establishing genuine feelings.

Being amused by this potency, you go along with the game of duality. Hence the polarity of shyness and confidence is soon replaced by another revitalising polarity. And so it goes until you feel so euphoric that there is no need for more. Hence the belief in being and having more than that which is One is undone.

What you believe in being only exist in the impression you imagine you make in the world. And it only seems real because of what you imagine it does to you.

Consequently, you should not use the perception ‘it is what it is’ if you do not want to have the belief in being and having more than that which is One undone. Instead, you should use the perception ‘I know what it is.’ To make that perception work, though, you must ignore the counterpart of what you claim to know. So if you, for example, want to appear as if you know the way, you must hide feeling lost.

When you always perceive your reaction to something as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing seems wrong. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. And although it has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One, it paves the way. Hence your story unfolds as planned, and so does the Enlightenment of that which is One. Not in the sense that your story built up to it. On the contrary, when it seems to fall apart, and you do not try to avoid it, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. Read more about that in HACK #6 The inward-facing senses, Enlightenment and glimpses of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

That, however, makes you feel something is missing. And no matter where you look, you do not see it because you keep insisting, ‘I know what it is.’ But if you sayit is what it is,’ your single-minded opinion of the way is going to reveal it is complemented by feeling lost. And since you are in a world of duality, this twofoldness makes you feel complete. Thus nothing seems to be missing.

Should you want to speed up the undoing of the belief in being and having more than that which is One, you say ‘dunno what it is,’ thus forgetting you appear to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. This does not mean that your experiences are transformed. Change is a concept of duality. But it means there is nobody to confirm them as something. Hence you do not get the satisfaction of duality but the bliss of nothing.

Suppose you remain in this state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most. In that case, the brain gives up fabricating experiences as if you are someone having them in a world where there seems to be more than one (read more about that here) because if nobody ratifies them as something, they are exposed as nothing. Hence all experiences dematerialise, and so does the brain, eventually.

You do not have to use the same words for the perceptions mentioned above to play the game of duality, deny it, or leave it altogether. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could, for example, say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ Read more about that in Notes on perceptions.

And if the duality flow is what you expect to get, it does not matter if you apply the perception ‘it is what it is’ to your reaction to an experience or the experience itself. However, it may take some time before you accept the nature of duality. So until then, you perceive your response to an experience as ‘it is what it is’ to get in sync with duality, thus being revitalised by the duality flow.

Also: In hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues, you were told to separate the psychological aspect from the physical one in a psychosomatic disorder so the body can heal itself. However, this is only if you are new to the duality flow. If you know it and do not want to be disturbed by the symptoms of a psychosomatic problem, you perceive your reaction to the symptoms as ‘it is what it is’ because you want to be in the duality flow. And so you are.

bottle-up-emotionsHow to suppress feelings?
If you are not already aware, here are a few samples:

  • Talking about what others do or say instead of how that makes you feel.
  • Trying to help others to remove the attention from you and how you feel yuorself.
  • Falling in love hides the self-hatred inside.
  • Talking about metaphysically things instead of acknowledging, what you feel.
  • Being upset about something on behalf of others.
  • Meditating, chanting, praying or doing similar things to fend off what you feel.
  • Finding psychological, or any other kinds of explanation for what you feel.
  • Eating or drinking to suppress ones’ feelings.
  • Trying to prove a factual point to hide what you feel.
  • Following ideas for living in the now, or trying to live by any other totalirian concept.
  • Blaming others and justify your feelings by them.
  • Much planning and control.
  • Constantly looking for new things to buy or change.
  • Trying to always be in a good mood.
  • Working a lot and for instance clean your home, when you are upset.
  • Reading or playing computer games regularly.
  • Having revenge sex.
  • Staging yourself on Facebook – perhaps to get as many likes and followers as possible.
  • Publish photos of your happy and shiny life on Instagram.
  • Quoting others to prove you are right.
  • Keep imagining how to solve things or just making up stories.
  • Sitting with crossed legs, locking the knees by bending them backwards, raising one or both shoulders or pushing them forward.
  • Holding back the breath.
  • Assuming to know what is right and wrong.
  • Concluding this and that.

And how to not suppress your feelings?
In the duality flow feelings become very defined, but only in relation to their counterpart. Therefore, since they are not definitive but relative, you have no specific feelings to suppress.

CANCELLEX You undo the belief in duality by enjoying it, Part 3

Notes on meditation, the basic and special self

Updated September 20, 2022

Everything in a world of duality comes in pairs, where the opposing elements define each other. For example, small is defined by tall and vice versa. So if you hate big things and abandon them, you also exclude small ones. Since small things cannot be defined, they become a blurry concept. Likewise, if you perceive yourself to be free from hatred, the love you believe to experience is fake. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The brain’s function is to create entertaining experiences for the self that it has fabricated. Therefore, if they do not seem to please but frustrate the self, its consciousness most likely perceives them, so they comply with a conceptualised way of living, such as capitalism, socialism, spiritualism, or another ism meant to make the self feel more special.

But since this perception is founded on a particular belief system, it is restricted by its concepts. And since self-discipline does not make you delighted but angry, you do not get the peace the belief system promised. Primarily because the thoughts you have compiled into perception aligned with your preferred belief system do not like being manipulated. Hence, they move faster and faster to escape your domination.

No worries, if you do not try to stop this restless energy, it automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath, where the slate is wiped clean. Read more about that in hack #5.2 The empty breath and the bliss of nothing. Therefore, since you only have perceptions in sync with the experiences the brain produces, you feel entertained by all of them. Fortunately, you do not have to uphold these perceptions yourself. The brain does it automatically if you do not interfere. Read more about that in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the basic self is relative to the experiences created by the brain (read more about that here), it is not definitive. Hence the inexact flow of thoughts coming from the brain seems natural. But not to the special self because it wants to be definitive.

To distance itself from the brain, the special self composes a perception in which the basic have been transformed into someone definitive independent of the brain. However, this twisted perception calls for more thoughts than those few the brain has available to make a perception aligned with the basic self. Thus, the special self meditates to generate more thoughts.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs alcohol, drugs or meditation to escape the fear of repercussion that manipulating others entails. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Those who perceive themselves as unique beings with the power to do things in their way and pace need many thoughts to uphold their crooked perception. However, the movement of so many thoughts soon becomes so hectic that they try to slow them down via meditation.

That is the official reason. But as anybody who has meditated knows, thoughts multiply when trying to control them. And that is the real reason for meditating because many thoughts are needed to construct a unique spiritual appearance.

 ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self does not feel disturbed by the flow of thoughts from the brain. On the contrary, it loves this quiet flow because it makes it easy to serve the brain in a laid-back way. However, the special self does not want to serve but to master the brain. Thus it feels disturbed by its thoughts, although, if not interfering, there are only a few.

The frantic flow of thoughts, the special self experiences, has been generated by itself. It has multiplied the simple flow the brain develops to maintain a basic itself into a large group of thoughts from which it can compose a perception of itself as an independent being. Read more about that here. Then, when it needs a break from the multitudes of thoughts, it looks for something numbing like alcohol, drugs or a mantra.

But when it manages to escape the thoughts, it feels horrified because, without all the special thoughts it has generated, the idea of being in control falls apart. Hence there is no self-deception to hide that it depends on the brain. Acknowledging that, it feels embraced by the gentle flow of thoughts from the brain.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Most like to believe they feel upset because of the thoughts coming from the brain. However, the distress comes from the attempt to edit them. When a single thought is sought out from the stream of thoughts, it generates a new stream, and if a specific thought is singled out from that, yet another stream is made, and so on – just like if you split a neutron from an atom nucleus, it sends out more neutrons all by itself, that split and sends out more neutrons. It is a chain reaction.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self feels dominated by the natural flow of thoughts coming from the brain. But it is dominated by nothing other than its perception of the flow of thoughts. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The special self likes to believe that visualising something will make it happen because that seems to confirm it is in control. But if that were true, everybody would win the lottery.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To think you are in control is like believing you control the TV with the remote. Somebody else has made what you see, and the only thing you can change is your perception of it. That is also how the basic self has been transformed into a special self, namely by perceiving the basic self so that it seems to be an independent being in charge of its own life.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs constant approval from others to feel alive. To get that, it often establishes a family, which it can manipulate into giving it the confirmation it needs. If that does not work as intended, the special self may pay a psychologist to ratify its uniqueness. But it does not realise how dependent it is on those supporting its perception of being independent.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the brain scripts you to feel sexual lust, you will feel horny no matter what you believe in being. However, you will not enjoy it if you try to suppress your sex drive through meditation or tantra sex. Read more about sex here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you perceive yourself as detached from the experiences of the brain, you fool yourself because you need them to prove this.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you try to solve absent-mindedness through mindfulness meditation or grounding exercises, you make it worse because you do not know who you are. Only your maker knows that. And since it is the brain, the solution, in the context of believing to be someone, is to be aligned with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain instead of using meditation to distance yourself from it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Having established itself as someone in charge, the special self needs to meditate or something else that seems to make it able to control thoughts to fool itself into believing that thoughts are not produced by the brain but by itself. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Mindfulness is for those who cannot help exploiting others – just like in ancient times, monks introduced meditation to the barbarians seeking shelter in Ashrams to teach them to control themselves, thus refraining from abusing others.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self has no need to relax or transform itself through meditation, yoga, fitness and whatnot. On the contrary, as its perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain, it is like a stream of happiness. Therefore, since it regularly forgets to remember being someone, it knows there is nothing to transform.

On the other hand, the special self never forgets to remember being somebody. It is always on a mission to become more and be part of something greater. But since that never turns out as expected, it settles for following someone that seems to improve its social status.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you need to relax, you are trying to be someone definitive. Because to achieve that, you have excluded the thoughts you find upsetting from the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Since that does not result in peace but fear of the repressed, you look for something that makes you relax. However, not trying to edit the ever-changing flow of thoughts but perceiving it as ‘it is what it is,’ you are not someone definitive but relative to the present experience produced by the brain. Therefore, since hating what you dislike feels just as exciting as loving what you like, there is no need to relax.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always looks for something to fix. But it rejects the solution that would fix everything immediately, namely not perceiving the brain as an enemy but as a friend (read more about that here). By doing that, everybody becomes a friend because the brain produces the experience of others.

Ultimately, the solution is to undo the belief in being someone who experiences something. As this is the end of being someone, the special self avoids it by meditating or something else that seems to confirm it exists.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The many doctrines of the world easily manipulate those who believe they have free will to become spiritual, socialistic, capitalistic or something else they think will make them independent of the brain.

However, you cannot avoid the brain’s commands – just like a car is in the hands of the driver, you are in the hands of the brain.

So even though the special self perceives the ride per the particular doctrine, it follows nothing changes other than how the special self sees it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There is no moment without the past and the future. For example, you must deal with both to keep the balance on a wheel like in this photo. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen

If you perceive the brain’s basic rendering of you in a capsule of time and space as a bit boring, the special self sets in by offering you more exotic ways of perceiving it, for example, by coming from the heart (read more about that here), or living in the now.

But since all experiences – no matter where you believe they come from or how they seem to be experienced – are constructions of thoughts fabricated by the brain (read more about that here), these special perceptions are nothing but a reconstruction of the thoughts made by the brain.

However, they do not work because they are exclusive and not inclusive. Any experience the brain creates consists of all thoughts popping up at that moment, including about the past and the future. When in sync with the whole bunch, every moment feels perfect.

But this is not how it feels if you eliminate some of those thoughts to adjust to concepts like coming from the heart or living in the now. That makes you feel imperfect.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Like the night excludes the day and vice versa, spirituality excludes consciousness and vice versa.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It feels like you are someone in a computer game just because it seems to make you feel something. But this feeling is based on your interpretation of computer-generated events. Therefore, what you feel is made by you. The same applies to what you feel in the world where you believe to read this. It is founded on your interpretation of the experiences produced by the brain. Consequently, it is you who choose what to feel.

It is also you who interpret experiences as there is a god, higher consciousness, or whatnot. But there are no experiences. That requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you meditate to exclude something, you establish it as real, otherwise, there is no reason to get rid of it. But anything you are aware of is unreal because it takes more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is one. Fortunately, you eventually forget what and where you appear to be when applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks, except for the Enlightenment of that which is One, where it occurs immediately. Hence, there is nobody to be conscious of something.

NOTES:

Being special and depressed, or basic and happy, or nobody and blissful

Updated October 4, 2022

The special self wants to make selected ones feel unique, so they depend on it to be appreciated.

The special self is always looking for errors in its personality to correct them, thus appearing in control. But the basic self does not consider itself in charge of anything. Instead, it sees itself as a servant of everything because it adjusts to the flow of thoughts coming from the brain, which does not know about personal preferences but what is in the best interest of the whole.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Thinking you are in control, you are under enormous pressure. You must always look for thoughts that can be used to compose a perception of your experiences to prove that you, not the brain, are in control.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You hit the buttons on the remote control to get specific channels on the TV. It is not difficult, so it does not establish you as essential. But if you imagine you are the master of buttons, you appear more important, although what is in the movie you may get is beyond your influence.

As you can see, being the special self is not about what you do but the thoughts concerning it. Especially thoughts in the category of master and servant – like when you think you master the remote control, your coffee machine, children or pets. Or if you have a boss that puts you down, but you still seem to be on top of it by thinking, you could do it much better.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always finds something about others that it judges as wrong. Hence they become the imperfect background for its perfection.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the special self perceives to fail, it takes on being secondary. Thus the failure does not seem to have been caused by itself but by somebody else.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When a ball is coming your way, it´s a natural reflex to respond and following such reflexes is pure fun.

Sometimes a doctor may check the function of a body by knocking on special points to see if the involuntary movements work. But everything you think that you do voluntarily is automatic. If you believe in being in control, you have worked hard to perceive the body’s activity as generated by you.

To fabricate this perception, you suppress your reaction to the reflexes that do not fit into your idea of calling the shots. Thus you become a person who seems to do everything by your own choice. And others appear to be doing things against or for you by their choice. However, keeping up this impression is hard because you always have to hide that the brain administers everything you do.

Therefore, not hiding that but gladly serving the brain, you are following your nature, thus feeling free.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self’s perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Therefore, since feeling the flow of happiness, it does not need to be or achieve something special to feel good. But the special self is out of sync with the flow, so it does not feel its happy vibe. Instead, it tries to create it by looking for special moments in the past to replicate in the present to feel special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If the special self discovers that others have interpreted something it did as wrong, it avoids feeling guilty by shouting, »Look what you made me do.«

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences the brain produces to make you feel like someone can, in many ways, be compared to the news that Facebook generates for you. Based on the info Facebook has gathered about you, it collects what its artificial intelligence predicts you wish to see, regardless it is fake or not. However, unlike Facebook, the brain has all your info, so the experiences you get from it are based on you. Thus what you experience is what you are. That cannot be altered – only your perception of it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain. But since it cannot manifest its fabrication, it has made a self that feels the experiences it produces, so it seems to confirm a world defined by time and space is real, which in return seems to prove the self is a substantial being in a tangible world. In other words, what and where you believe in being is a brain fantasy. Consequently, there is nothing real to confirm the brain’s existence, wherefore nothing is making the fantasy of you as someone in a world defined by time and space – just like nobody is making a dream and nobody is in it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to convince at least one person about how crucial it is, which it achieves by smothering someone with the kind of attention it senses, that is required to make that person feel chosen. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Again and again, the special self likes to show off as if it has invaluable insights from extraordinary experiences that can help others get better. However, it is as impossible as helping someone in a dream. Therefore, the special self pieces together an interpretation of its interaction with others that, in retrospect, establishes itself as someone who has helped them get better.

Though it may not succeed in manipulating others into believing this, it often succeeds in convincing at least one person by making that person feel so wanted and loved that it thinks it cannot live without the one making it feel that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to be part of something important, not to feel alone. Thus it checks all notifications on Facebook and makes sure to like what its friends write so that it will like it and be liked by them, and they all are confirmed to be together in a group of extraordinary people. That is, if you believe there is something in cyberspace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If somebody triggers an old feeling of rejection in the special self, it first interprets it as an attack. Next, it justifies feeling rejected by the attack. Therefore, since the feeling seems to originate in the attacker, the special self concludes the feeling does not come from itself. If the perceived attacker exposes this self-deception, the special self points out something from the past to make the attacker feel guilty. Thus the special self is off the hook and can rest assured that it is loved, and the attacker is not.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Undoing the belief in being someone special is like stepping into the unknown. And since life cannot be known, you find it there. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you justify your unpleasant emotions with something judged as flawed in the world, those feelings are buried in a mental drama of fairness. For example, when you feel angry, it is obscured by the sad story you keep telling about the world to establish you are unfairly treated by it. Hence feeling angry has been removed from your awareness and replaced by a mental concept of being mistreated. This spin also hides, you fear the world will get back at you for blaming it for your negative emotions.

However, this is too shameful to admit. So to save face when you feel attacked by the world, you repeat the story of being unfairly treated to prove you are innocent. But to uphold your innocence, you must continuously suppress feeling selfish, greed, anger and envy, which you do by changing the focus from yourself to others. You keep it at them by pointing out these attributes in them in a way you instinctively know they are ashamed of. You are very good at that, and your friends know it. Nevertheless, they do not expose you because they also look for someone to attack, so they feel off the hook. That is why they recognise it in you.

To hide that you and like-minded ones hate everybody, you meet in special groups where you hug and share in a collectively agreed way of being united. Yet, it is not feelings of love but the wish to hide they hate each other that connects them. Naturally, nobody wants to acknowledge this, least of all do they want to talk about it in the group because if you do not censor yourself to speak and act within the language of love established by the group, or its mentor, you are expelled. And then there is nowhere to go to find relief from your despair.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not appear in a physical world to learn something. Everything you encounter is made from empty space. The only purpose of your experiences, including those interpreted as spiritual and as you as someone, is to feel entertained by nothing. Read more about that here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To prevent the image of the special self from cracking, it is crucial not to feel one’s emotions. Therefore, since the special self suppresses them, it becomes so numb that it cannot feel anything. So instead, it invents stories about feelings that fit its self-perception. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love. Consequently, you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the perceived feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of expectations being met.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Nobody is unjustly treated in the brain’s script. It is all about being entertained by duality, which you are when perceiving your reaction to your experiences as it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, this makes you feel complete

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should you have conditioned yourself to feel relaxed when you hear a specific kind of music, you find yourself in a story where you know you are supposed to feel relaxed every time you hear this music. In other words, what you believe in feeling is a product of your story. And as most of what you believe in feeling rests on stories, you are hardly ever in touch with your emotions but with how you have conditioned yourself to respond to something. That suits the special self very well. It does not want to experience genuine feelings but how it is supposed to feel them when being what it imagines it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self likes to meet new people. However, not to get to know them but to answer their questions. That is a perfect opportunity to re-edit the story it has fabricated about itself to become more exciting. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you, in your part of the world, are supposed to feel disrespected when someone is more than 15 minutes late for a meeting, you can, in a rational way, prove to others that you are in the right when you claim to feel hurt. But since rationally explaining a feeling changes it into a mental concept, you do not feel hurt. Instead, you feel victorious because you convinced others you were right about being hurt.

However, the feeling of victory only lasts as long as others are willing to listen to your story of being unfairly treated. No worries. If you perceive the meaning you have assigned to your story as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing in it adds up to something specific. Hence the story cannot be used to justify being unfairly treated, thus not suppressing what you actually feel, which in the world of duality always is twofold. Therefore in sync with duality, you feel so fulfilled that you do not need the satisfaction of being in the right. Read more about made-up feelings here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The stories you make to hide what you feel sooner or later clash with the actual experiences of the world where you seem to be. Thus you feel very confused.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the past, the special self made a hateful story it uses for perceiving the present, so it seems to confirm its past judgment of others as evil. And since the past, therefore, appears to repeat itself, the special self can rest assured in its perception of itself as good and others as bad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The English language suits the special self because it is built upon the ‘I’ as primary and others as secondary. You do not talk with others but to them. And when you speak about friends and yourself, you always start by mentioning yourself.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self likes to hide that it is lonely by having others depend upon it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It takes so much time and effort to invent a special self from which selected experiences are eliminated or changed, so you appear to be absent of power strivings, selfishness, greed, anger, negative thoughts or whatever you assume to be politically incorrect. It feels restricting, whereas you feel free when not altering or rejecting something in your perception to shape your image into something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs and the special self excludes the apparently dark side of those in its perception of itself to appear as someone definitive, the power of duality is not expressed but suppressed. And even though the special self never feels it has enough energy, it does not correct its perception. It fears it will be devoured by the darkness it has excluded if it includes it.

It is right about being terminated. But only as someone definitive and not in the way it expects. The uncontrolled energy of suppressed feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath.* In this state of not-knowing,* there is no awareness of being somebody. Hence all that is left is the bliss of nothing from which the self returns to a world of duality with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since darkness and lightness are perceived as two sides of the same coin that interacts to define each other, it gets the power of the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing* does not reveal non-duality, but that a world of duality is nothing. The result of this revelation is not that you choose to return to non-duality because that requires more than one. Instead, you return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of duality as a basic self.

Being basic, you sooner or later feel so relaxed that you forget to choose, and since not-choosing does not require more than one, the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

The basic self cannot be changed, but it can be perceived as special

Updated September 16, 2022

The multiplication of thoughts required to construct an image of you as an independent entails stress, thus a tired body. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE BASIC AND SPECIAL SELF PLUS THE ROGUE CONSCIOUSNESS:
You are effortlessly synced with the basic self when not suppressing feelings by holding back the breath or altering its natural rhythm via yoga, for example. And since very few thoughts are required to maintain the synchronisation, they do not seem disturbing but encouraging.

That is, until the consciousness, the brain has installed in the basic self to be aware of itself, decides it knows better than its maker, and plots to change the basic self into a special one. However, shaping and maintaining a special self requires a more complicated construction of thoughts than the simple construction accumulated by the brain to create and uphold the basic self.

Therefore, the rogue consciousness perceives an experience so scary that fear makes you hold back your breath long enough for thoughts to be imprisoned in the gap, from where they force their way out by multiplying themselves. Then, having escaped, they continue their frantic multiplication, which pleases the rogue consciousness because it needs lots of thoughts to make a special self come into being, supposedly free from the brain.

But in a world of duality, all thoughts come in pairs of opposing elements, such as right and wrong, to define each other. Therefore, since you cannot have one without the other, you are never only right but also wrong. However, the rogue consciousness does not want the elements in the duality pairs to collaborate because it wants to set up a self which is excluded from evil, thus only good.

To disconnect the opposing sides in the duality pairs into distinct elements, the rogue consciousness first imagines a judge determining which emotions are specifically good and bad. Then, an executioner punishes the bad ones by excluding them from the new self, so it looks uniquely good and has that feeling of being special. Read more about the below paragraph THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS.

When not interfering with the few thoughts, the brain keeps circulating for you to have a continuous experience of being a basic self, you feel together. But you feel alienated if you add thoughts to the construction of the basic self to appear more special. It is like building castles in the sky because you cannot change how the brain has programmed you. Nor is it necessary because if you do not try to correct the brain, it automatically makes sure you perceive yourself in sync with its basic setup. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But when good and bad are separated, they cannot define each other, as they do in a duality pair. Thus you do not get a genuine but conceptualised experience of good and bad. Nevertheless, that suits the rogue consciousness fine because, with emotions cut off, the special self can mentally decide what good and bad feel like, thus being the master

However, it is hard work to constantly suppress genuine feelings preventing you from using good and bad in a thought-up way – or twisting experiences into a collectively agreed concept of having a good time. Besides, the suppressed emotions mess up the natural flow of the breath, thus the stream of thoughts used to keep the body healthy, wherefore the body seems inflicted with psychosomatic illnesses. So although the special self probably appears as good as planned, it does not genuinely feel good.

On the other hand, the basic self feels as good as bad because it follows the brain’s script of duality, where everything comes in pairs with the opposing elements interacting with each other. Of course, this does not necessarily mean that the basic self has a perfect body, but its problems are not approached as psychological but physical issues. Thus the body knows how to deal with them unless the problems are genetically related.

Fortunately, the happiness of the basic self does not depend on appearance. Sometimes a weak body may even be helpful. For example, Alexius’s poor condition helps him slow down physically and speed up writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, you must always choose something to uphold the illusion of separation. Therefore, not choosing anything, the illusion falls apart. That might be easier to do if you stick to being the basic self because it houses so much happiness that sooner or later, you forget to choose. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS
You can compare the formlessness of oneness to one thought, which is pure peace. But peace is over when that thought is divided into two because they need to differ to appear divided. To achieve this separation, one thought as a separate entity, called a Person, looks at another thought called the World. And to uphold the illusion that there is more than one, the division goes on.

The thought called the World is divided into black and white aspects. And the thought called a Person is also divided into two, namely a Judge and an Executioner. Thus we have a Person who chooses between black and white experiences. And then a Judge who divides thoughts into right and wrong so the black experiences can be punished for being wrong by the Executioner.

When that is carried out, the Person feels good because now it is off the hook. Someone else is guilty of the mess that separation seems to entail. Read more about projections here. However, since this arrangement sets other divisions in motion, the relief is short-lived. So, again and again, the interaction of Person, WorldJudge and Executioner is used to make someone else look bad and yourself good.

Although this happens as an inner dialogue inside a Person, it is often projected onto something perceived outside of it. For example, what feels wrong inside the World of a Person is projected onto something perceived as evil in the World outside of a Person, such as immigrants, the deep state or communists. The Judge may be projected on a god, parent, boss, or lover. And perhaps society is seen as the Executioner.

That said, the world where we appear to be is not a construction of thoughts or anything else because oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing else than that which is One. However, in the context of the belief that there is more than that, Alexius makes up stories he assumes help realise that they, as everything else experienced, are fictitious because it takes more than one to be aware of something.

The special self keeps returning to Facebook or similar media, where messages and likes confirm its specialness. But, if not continually established as unique, it starts doubting itself and thus loses its sense of control, which it fears more than anything else. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

BEING IN SYNC WITH DUALITY OR NOT:
What you believe in being is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain into pairs of contrasting elements, such as happiness and sadness, to define each other. When in sync with the ongoing interaction of opposites, you do not want to separate happiness from sadness because the interaction makes you feel complete.

But you are not in sync with duality if negative thoughts are judged as wrong, thus excluded from the perception of yourself to appear solely positive. Without the awareness of negativity in yourself, there is nothing to define your positivity. Hence, nothing will turn you on – like you cannot turn on a TV without the negative pole in the electrical wire.

Being out of sync with duality occurs when the consciousness that the brain has installed in the self goes rogue and makes a special perception of the present moment where the elements in the duality pairs do not collaborate to define each other. Instead, they separate into individual aspects, so you can decide to only feel love for someone and hate for another, for example.

However, since love is not defined by hatred anymore, you do not feel genuine love but a speculative version of it. The same applies to hate. And since you believe your single-minded notions are real, you clash with the world because it consists of duality pairs. You can correct that by going with the interaction of love and hate. This you do by perceiving your single-minded notion of either love or hate as ‘it is what it is’ because this reveals love is in hate and vice versa. But instead of accepting that, you probably accuse the brain of ruining love. But you are a product of the brain (read more about that here), so your disapproval is a condemnation of yourself.

When the brain wants you to run, it uses the biological system to signal the body. It starts running regardless you are a basic or special self. The basic self, as always, feels entertained by following the brain’s commands. But the special self loathes the brain and its simple ideas of entertainment and thinks it knows better. But all its totalitarian ideas are restricting, thus not entertaining. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TEMPTED TO BECOME SPECIAL:
When the consciousness of the basic self goes rogue, it responds like a spell checker to the calm stream of thoughts coming from the brain. It automatically interprets it so the self, which initially was made and administered by the brain, seems self-made, thus independent of the brain.

But since the rogue consciousness interpretations are single-minded, thus out of sync with duality, thoughts do not feel at home. Therefore, they multiply and move about so rapidly that the calm stream of thoughts from the brain becomes a wild one full of ideas for getting more.

At first, this turbulence seems scary to the basic self, but the rogue consciousness convinces it that it is for the best because now there are so many thoughts that you have endless possibilities. Besides, when you become special, you are in control so that you can arrange things your way.

Therefore, most persons gladly welcome the corrections the rogue consciousness does to transform them into a unique self with unlimited ways of realising themselves, contrary to the basic self, limited by the brain, that it blindly follows.

But the rogue consciousness did not tell you that you must spend many years in school learning to make order out of this mess by labelling everything so you can follow predefined ways of being unique.

Both the basic and the special self is a construction of thoughts. But whereas the basic self is simple, the special self is a complicated construction made to sow discord by insisting on being special. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In other words, appearing independent and special is complicated and exhausting, whereas not being someone specific but relative to the brain’s script is uncomplicated and vitalising. Therefore, if you want to have a good time while appearing as someone in a world of duality, use one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks to enter a state of not-knowing. It wipes the slate clean of all misperceptions, thus restoring the basic self. Since it is relative to the brain, it is in sync with its experiences as they are and not as they could be if you were a special self following a specific philosophy

Therefore, as the basic self, you have fun going with the duality flow, contrary to the special self, which is imprisoned by specific concepts of being positive or whatnot. Read more about that here. That said, once having been established as a special self, you probably keep going back and forth between that and the basic self until you do not need to feel something specific to feel happy because that is impossible as the basic self. It only knows the fullness of twofoldness.

Should you not want to play the game of duality, thus having the belief in it undone, it is not necessary to be the basic self. Still, it is much easier because, not being special, suddenly you forget to remember what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One waits for. Read more about that here.

PS: Since you are bound to follow the brain’s commands physically, your life progresses the same whether you are the basic or special self. It is only mentally that it seems different.

NOTES:

Going back to the first moment of duality

Updated September 9, 2022

You and the world is fabricated at the edge of a black hole, which you have imagined to be a way out of that which is one – and to make it appear as if you are right, you divide all the appearances of this fabrication by separating them into good and bad, so that it seems you are in a world, where there is more than that which is one. What you appear to be, was dreamed up at the edge of a black hole through which you believed to have escaped that which is One. This rebelliousness you continue in a world of duality, where you do not accept that everything comes in pairs of opposites. You fight this basic rule of duality by separating the constant interaction of opposing components into disconnected elements that do not support but fight each other, for example love an hate.

This explanation is, of course, as fictious as anything else in a world of duality, including Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. But since they do not claim to be real, reading them may expose everything experienced is unreal.

The inner senses are not limited by the ideas of time and space, so it is not a problem for them to pick the echo of that which is one coming from the beginning of the world, which also is the end of it.

The inward-facing senses are not limited by the ideas of time and space, so it is not a problem for them to pick up the echo of oneness coming from the beginning of the world.

THE HUMMING FROM THE EDGE OF THE UNIVERSE
Depending on your preference in the world of duality, the echo of non-duality is either experienced as a sound, feeling, light or taste coming from the edge of the universe – one at a time, though, as they are aspects of oneness. However, this article is mainly about hearing or feeling the echo of non-duality, often symbolised by Aum and Sohang.

As non-duality is formless, thus endless, it is everything. Thus the experience of more than one is an illusion.

When the outward-facing senses are partially closed, the inward-facing ones, which are not limited by time and space, can tune into the echo of non-duality, so you can hear or feel it. What you hear or feel, though, is not non-duality but a glimpse of it because non-duality cannot be experienced.

Non-duality is the absence of attention, awareness, consciousness, love or anything else that requires more than one.

If the outward-facing senses are entirely closed, a world defined by time and space cannot be experienced. Therefore, since there is nothing to prevent the abstract world of the inward-facing senses from completely taking over, there is not something that appears to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. But this is not the subject of this article. It is written within the context of time and space.

The edge of the universe can be heard, felt, tasted and seen, as if it is in yourself and not far away. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The edge of the universe can be heard, felt, tasted and seen as if it is not far away but in you.

Feeling or hearing the humming from the edge of the universe, you do not perceive differences to make a difference. Therefore, you return to the origin of duality, where nothing seemed wrong. Hence every moment was the perfect moment.

Check the article The Enlightenment of that which is One versus glimpses of it for a deeper exploration of the Enlightenment of that which is One versus glimpses of it. In the article, Life has no secrets, you can learn how to hear and/or feel the humming from the edge of the universe. The perfect moment you can read about in From non-duality to duality and back.

In The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them, there are practical instructions on how to have glimpses of Enlightenment.

You think you have escaped that which is one through an black hole looking a bit like an embryo into a world where there seems to be more than one. But it is a fantasy. It is not possible. There is no black hole, because there is no more than that which is one. Consequently I can only show you a fantasy picture of the black hole, that is imagined to look a bit like an embryo or a horse head. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

You think you have escaped that which is One through a black hole into a world where there seems to be more than one. But it is a fantasy. There is no way to escape oneness because it is formless, thus endless. Consequently, this image of a black hole that may look like an embryo or a horse head is fake.

IN THE BEGINNING, EVERYTHING SEEMED PERFECT
You escaped non-duality through a black hole you imagined seeing at the edge of non-duality. Everything seemed perfect until you looked for differences and discovered the fantasies about more than one kept coming out of the black hole. But you thought you could handle this disruption by pairing opposing elements into pairs of duality.

However, there were not enough elements to complete your project. This made you so angry that your rage ignited an explosion in the black hole that made a world of your duality pairs in which you now spend all your time looking for the missing pieces.

Truth is that which is One. Consequently there is no truth in a world, where there seems to be more than one.

PERFECTION IS A FAIRYTALE
If you are a factual-minded person, you may ask, where are the facts behind the above explanation. There are no facts because a world of duality is fake. There is nothing but non-duality since it is formless, thus endless. In other words, the above is as made up as anything else in a world of duality. Nevertheless, Alexius’ little fable may remind you that non-duality is all there is.

If so, use it to go back to the big bang coming out of a black hole, so you can be filled with glimpses of Enlightenment if you keep your inward-facing senses partially open. If wholly opened, the nothingness of you is sucked through a black hole into that which is One.

However, this path is not more or less real than another. Yet while believing to be in a world of duality, there probably is a way that seems better for you. Therefore, if one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks appear to be your way, use them to undo the belief in duality. But please do not use them to prove that you are on the right track and that others are wrong.

Also, do not try to adjust to the terminology of Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. They are not a belief system where you find the meaning of life. On the contrary, they undo the belief in being someone living in a world of duality.

‘The Enlightenment of that which is One’ and glimpses of it

Updated August 22, 2022

There are specific steps to follow when you want something in a world where there seems to be more than one. But there are no steps to follow to undo the belief that you are in such a world. On the contrary, believing there is, enhances the belief that you are real, and so it will continue to hide what is real, namely the formlessness of oneness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

EXPERIENCING GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT:
In the world of the inward-facing
senses, the Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of it is available for you regardless of the body’s state, how and where it is positioned and if you know anything about Enlightenment at all. It is merely a matter of not focusing on being someone definitive. The less focus on that, the less the substantial world of the outward-facing senses blocks the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.

Hence glimpses of Enlightenment can be experienced as visions of light, ethereal harmonies, a shivering feeling of total emptiness or a taste of sweetness. But to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, you must completely forget the outward-facing senses.

However, like a movie trailer is not the movie, the glimpses of Enlightenment are not the Enlightenment of that which is One. But unlike a movie trailer which does not contain the whole film, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One has it. Therefore, when you stop distinguishing the glimpses, they are no longer different experiences but the Enlightenment of that which is One.

There is no transition from glimpses of Enlightenment to the Enlightenment of that which is One because either there is separation or not. But since there is no time in the Enlightenment of that which is One, you are unaware that you used to believe in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Nevertheless, you are aware that the Enlightenment of that which is One will terminate your consciousness, abruptly and ultimately, because you sense the nothingness of you endlessly falling into that which is One. But since you are scared of the unknown and it requires more than one to be afraid of something, you immediately return to a world where there seems to be more than one.*

This is like dreaming about going to the moon and suddenly waking up in your bed. There is no conscious transition, and you are not an astronaut who has been to the moon. You are what you were before dreaming about it. Likewise, you are not aware of any transition to a world where there seems to be more than one when you return from the Enlightenment of that which is One. You are not enlightened. Nothing has changed, except you are aware everything experienced is fake because you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, thus not what you are experienced to be.

The Enlightenment of that which is One is not a state because being in a state requires more than one. But a glimpse of it is a state and thus not lasting since everything definable has a beginning and end. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Nobody can attest to this because it requires more than one. For the same reason, you only have vague memories of leaving your personality behind and as nothing floating into the formlessness of oneness. They pop up every time you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

As it takes more than one to be aware of something, it is impossible to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One while being conscious of something.

Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, its glimpses do not wipe out thoughts. But someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One does not notice them because there is no need to use them for a spiritual image of yourself or a better world. However, when the glimpses are far away, the bliss of nothing is replaced by the darkness of something.

That many people solve by using the light in themselves to suppress the darkness, so they appear to light up a world of darkness. But that is not the Enlightenment of that which is One. It does not light up anything because it takes more than one to do so, and there is no more than one in the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Hanging onto a phoney image of yourself, you will not have more glimpses of Enlightenment until you do not want to use the glimpses but be used by them. Hence they, eventually, erase all wishes to improve a world where there seems to be more than one so that nobody is bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is On.

It takes more than one to do something and there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Hence you cannot leave it. However, since reading this requires more than one, you believe to be in a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus going back to oneness is about undoing that belief.

People have extraordinary ideas about Enlightenment. Some think it is pure love, consciousness or the ability to see through all illusions. But seeing or being something requires more than one. Thus the Enlightenment they are dreaming about is not the Enlightenment of that which is One. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE CANNOT BE EXPERIENCED:
Often those who talk about Enlightenment give the impression that they know what it is. And since their explanations are very convincing, seen in the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, you probably dismiss the Enlightenment of that which is One if it hits you. It is not as described. Since it is formless, it is not an experience you go through.

Therefore, if somebody refers to experiences of Enlightenment, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but glimpses of it which can be experienced via the inward-facing senses.

If you tend to sense the world of the outward-facing senses in an auditory way, the inward-facing senses may not reveal visual glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One but auditory ones. In other words, instead of glimpses of light, you get samples of ethereal harmonies. Like the outward-facing senses see, hear, feel and taste a world that appears to be outside of you, the inward-facing senses do the same inside you.

In short, when the outward-facing senses are partly closed, you experience glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One via the inward-facing senses in the same way you see, hear, feel and taste something with the outward-facing senses. But if the latter is fully turned off, the Enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. However, as already said, this is not an experience since it takes more than one to be aware of something. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

If you think a sign pointing towards Berlin Airport has anything to do with the airport except from pointing towards it, you are mistaken. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

If you think a sign pointing towards Berlin Airport has anything to do with the airport except pointing towards it, you will never fly off. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

APPENDIX
A traffic sign pointing towards, for example, Berlin Airport has nothing to do with Berlin or the airport, even though there maybe is an illustration of an aeroplane on the sign. Besides, it cannot take you to Berlin Airport. All it can do is show the way.

Likewise, you cannot find the formlessness of oneness in Alexius’ Duality Hacks. They do not even point towards it, but to the belief in being someone definitive, so you can see it hides the formlessness of oneness. Yet there is no specific sequence you must follow to undo this belief and welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. That would be the foundation for replacing the old belief with a new one. Alexius did not know anything about the Enlightenment of that which is One when he bid it welcome. He did not even know that he bid it welcome.

*) Had you regularly applied one or more of the Duality Hacks #1-5, the Enlightenment of that which is One (hack #6.1) would not scare you because you would not believe to be someone definitive, thus not having something to lose. Read more about the fear of oneness in The fear of Enlightenment. And check out how to call off specific emotions such as fear in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality so that bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One is not frightening.

Strangers in the night

The world is fabricated by bits and pieces.

The world is fabricated by bits and pieces, put together, so it seems substantial. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In old scriptures, being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is often compared to being in a world of darkness. If they meant it literally, Alexius do not know, but he knows there is no light in a world where there seems to be more than one coming from the stars, the sun or anything else. It is something we have learned to imagine so that we can navigate in a world of darkness. The below story illustrates this:

INVENTING TO SEE SOMETHING IN THE DARK
There are no streetlights outside Alexius’ home, so when he wakes up in the middle of the night, the only thing to ‘light’ up his bedroom is the stars or the moon. Therefore, one may conclude that he cannot find the way to the toilet unless he uses a torch or turns on the electric light.

But it is easy for Alexius to find the way without the help of electrical light because he has learned where everything is and can use certain things as navigation points so that they seem to ‘light’ up the way. It is all imagined, though and put together by trial and error. Actually, he stumbled quite a few times, learning to ‘see’ the way.

But he cannot ‘see’ anything else in the night than the way he has fabricated to the toilet because he has not learned to ‘see’ more than that. Maybe he will pick up ‘seeing’ beyond this if he studies how to do it. But what he learns to ‘see’ beyond his way to the toilet will be another fabrication, as the rooms next to his bedroom are also entirely in the dark.

The way from his bed to the toilet can be compared to everybody’s way in a world where there seems to be more than one. You seem to see something and then navigate from that to what you interpret as something else. But you move in the dark, and whatever you think you see is an image that you have learned to perceive as real. Without this fantasy, there is nothing to see. Neither is there anything hidden or something to be understood except that everything believed to see is made up.

WHAT IS FABRICATED DOES NOT EXIST
When you do not care to find a way through the darkness, what you imagined to see in it disappears – also darkness, which is just as imagined. And without this imagination – or rather the belief in it – there is nothing but unimaginable light. Not a light like that can be compared to the sun or similar artificial sources of light. And not a light that lights up something to see. There is nothing to light up.

Everything is one when the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. The belief that there is something to see cannot survive. And when there is nothing to see, there is not something to hide that which is One.

You can compare bidding welcome the enlightenment of that which is One to a computer call to that which is one. There is so much light on the computer screen that you cannot see it or the world until you hang up the phone and find yourself back in a world where there seems to be more than one. Yet you remember, there is no more than that which is one, and it is no different from that which is you. Consequently, it is impossible to be in a world where there seems to be more than one. Yet you can pretend to be ‘there’.

In other words, you pretend to be someone definitive, but what you pretend to be, you are not. That which is you is the formlessness of oneness.
