The indifference of ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

Updated September 5, 2022

Everything fabricated, such as this illustration of a yin-yang sign, is supposed to have a particular appearance. Hence, its experience supplies the belief that you are someone definitive. But this is not the purpose of the empty breath. On the contrary, its purpose is to undo the belief that you are someone at all. It does this by helping you see that the apparent difference between appearances does not make a difference. Thus there is no separation to establish you as someone. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

When people tell you to slow down and relax via mindfulness, for example, they sabotage the fastest way to take it easy, which is not to slow down the speed of thoughts and feelings. It sets them off in all directions, so you no longer can prevent them from igniting a take-off into the empty breath (read more about that here). And since it synchronises the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, speedy thoughts and feelings are not felt to cause stress but tranquillity.

However, sometimes you may feel so angry about somebody that you do not want this to happen because by becoming indifferent, you lose the anger needed to punish them. Hence you go berserk at somebody. But doing so, you first and foremost punish yourself because what we give is what we receive.

This goes on until you do not project your feelings onto others but keep them in yourself so they can build up the energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The empty breath undoes your conditioned belief in being someone definitive because it sets in before there is a conscious recognition of being someone definitive. Read more about it here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The connectedness with the empty breath – either via surfing its yin-yang like waves, being in its transparent sound, the swing of it, or the non-rhythmic energy behind the rhythm of it (read more about these ways here) – is not a feeling that can be fabricated like, for example, a romantic evening generated by candles, special clothes, music and red wine. On the contrary, it is felt when instead of busy trying to produce a specific feeling, the frenetic energy is used as a take-off into the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The swing of the inner breath may be experienced abruptly – like in this animation but probably a lot slower – in a s body with muscles problems from for example psoas or diafragma. There is no reason though trying to make it swing more smoothly by improving the condition of the body. The inner breath always adjust itself to the current condition of the body, so no matter how it moves it results in the same joy, providing you are not looking to be perfect.

In a sick body, the swing of the empty breath might be experienced to come in bursts – a bit like in this animation but probably slower. However, no matter how restricted the swing of it is experienced, connecting with it will always entail indifference. Therefore, if you stick to that, the way the empty breath is experienced makes no difference. The animation is grabbed from the web.

Not feeling the empty breath as described in the previous article, What does the empty breath feel like?, can be due to trying too hard, focussing on it, or assuming its experience will make you feel something extraordinary. By doing that, you ask the brain to make a definitive experience, and since the feeling of the empty breath is not specific, you miss it.

The same applies if you in any way manipulate the natural flow of the physical breath. This will make you appear as the master of it and thus enhance the sense of being an autonomous creature with a will of its own instead of a medium for the empty breath.

However, the main reason for not feeling the empty breath is that you want to feel it because it is only possible when you believe you are something instead of nothing. In other words, to feel the empty breath, you must step aside.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Please do not take the comparison of the inner breath to an yin yang sign too literally. An yin yang sign is all too simplified to really illustrate the inner breath.Yet it might give you an idea about the inner breath, which can also be compared to a spiral like the galaxy in this image, that the stylish yin yang sign might a simplified version of.

The comparison of the empty breath with a yin-yang sign should not be taken literally. A yin-yang sign is all too simplified to illustrate the empty breath, which is to be compared to the galaxy in this image. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath has no personality, it has no expression of its own. So if its rhythmic flow is experienced to be weaker when you appear sick or about to die, it is because its rhythm constantly adjusts to what you believe in being. Yet the operator of the empty breath (see the paragraph of the same name in the article What does the empty breath feel like?), which is the non-rhythmic energy behind the rhythm of the empty breath, remains the same and is also experienced like that when you are in touch with that aspect.

In other words, if the transparent non-rhythmic energy of the empty breath is only partially experienced, when the body seems to be out of order, the problem is not the empty breath but that you do not want to experience it fully when your body seems problematic because that would render it unimportant, thus question your belief in residing there.

This does not mean that you should not take care of the body and have it checked by a qualified health care professional once in a while. You also bring your car to a garage for a check-up, even though it is not you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The less you believe to be substantial, the more you will feel the non-rhythmic transparent energy of the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There are several established ways of feeling somebody else when you believe to be someone substantial in a tangible world. But there are no ways to feel the empty breath other than to stop believing you are definitive momentarily.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the connectedness with the empty breath, you are indifferent to what and where you appear. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you, in the past, have avoided the awareness of unpleasant feelings by projecting them onto obscure parts of the body, you may experience you get pain and not joy from the empty breath – or perhaps you feel it is too weak to supply you with the air you need.

The problem, though, is not the empty breath but that you want to experience it in a predefined way. So if you do try to feel the empty breath in a specific way but instead go with its indifference, suppressed emotions do not seem disturbing. Everything is fine as it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should the body seems to get better when you are connected with the empty breath, it is not due to the connection – at least not directly – because the empty breath does not know of something that needs improvement. Indirectly though, it is due to the empty breath. In its presence, you forget to manipulate your body with non-physical concepts, such as mindfulness. Thus the body is free to heal itself. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The energy at the root of the inner breath may be experienced a bit like this, but in less defined forms and colors.

The energy at the root of the empty breath can be experienced like this, but in less defined forms and without any awareness of colours. The animation is grabbed from the web.

Even though the empty breath, theoretically speaking, should produce a constant rhythm of expansion and contraction in the body, your experience of it may not be that the empty breath is consistent. And you are right. It does not care about consistency. Only those who want to be someone definitive need to appear coherent.

The empty breath can be compared to the cats in Alexius’ home. They go around as it pleases them. Yet he can always count on them to greet him when he gives a call. Likewise, the empty breath is always to be felt in one way or the other. For example, maybe he surfs a single wave in one of the circles in the empty breath several times in a row, whereafter he feels the swing of it inside his head, and then he surfs both of the yin-yang looking waves in one of the other circles of the empty breath. In the previous article, What does the empty breath feel like, you can read more about these experiences and the composition of the empty breath in endless circles.

After igniting a take-off into the empty breath, he mostly lands in its speedy and chaotic flow at its root, which feels like freedom compared to the rigid world of the outward-facing senses. Going to bed, the transparency of its sound often comes to him. But first of all, he feels the indifference of the empty breath. But since that means the apparent differences in the world do not appear to make a difference, it is hardly a feeling.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being connected with the empty breath, you may experience that it imprisons you, but that is a projection based on your own feeling of imprisonment. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Nothing can restrict the empty breath because it has no need to be something definitive, thus not something to be free from. But you have because you are dependent on continually being acknowledged as someone definitive by somebody perceived to be outside of you in a physical, astral or online world. The feeling of imprisonment that this entails makes you want to break out.

However, going with the flow of the empty breath – no matter how it is experienced – you go with its indifference. Hence the apparent difference between feeling free or imprisoned is not perceived to make a difference.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you are connected with a Fitbit watch, for example, it is not from the connection itself you get a fantastic feeling, but from the data it gives you.

Likewise, you may not feel excited about the connection with the empty breath, as its radiance of indifference makes you indifferent to the apparent differences that you experience. But as this exposes them as nothing, you are in the bliss of emptiness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you do not fend off the empty breath via a positive perception of yourself in which everything judged to be negative has been excluded, whatever you seem to feel will be interpreted by the indifference of the empty breath. Consequently, feeling happy or sad makes no difference. Not in the sense that happiness and sadness feel the same, but in the sense that the apparent difference makes no difference.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The most exciting aspect of the empty breath cannot be felt because it is indifference. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Doing Nordic Walking, or rather going with its flow, could be beneficial for you regarding not trying to initiate something yourself. It may also help you expose the defence mechanisms you have built up in the body against going with the flow of the empty breath.

This is not to say that all these defence mechanisms must come to an end to feel the empty breath. Having the willingness not to be somebody is sufficient to feel the empty breath. Read about willingness in Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one or the paragraph The only requirement is a willingness in the article The empty breath and the bliss of not believing to be someone.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The nature of the empty breath is not to provide happiness but indifference, and since that releases you from the suffering induced by separation, it may feel as if you are in a merry-go-round world.

Feelings, however, never last, so if you hang onto this feeling instead of going with the flow of being indifferent to what you feel, your merry-go-round world will be replaced by its contrast, a world of sadness. This is only so because you mistook the empty breath for the giver of happiness instead of indifference. But if you stick with the latter, it makes no difference if you feel happy or sad, which is very blissful.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling the empty breath is like receiving a new gift every moment. However, there is no way to know what the present will be before getting it, neither do you need to know, because the empty breath brings you into a state of not-knowing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Not being aware of something, there is nothing to make perfect. Consequently, you are not numbed in an experience of yourself as someone definitive but, instead, in the flow of nothing.

NOTE: This article is partly a continuation of What does the empty breath feel like?. They are both parts of hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

Updated June 24, 2022

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, you cannot experience it in a specific way. Yet, it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thingy,  which top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes this idea. Read more about that here. Hence it is a no-body experience. This does not mean that you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay do it. Thus you want to be disrupted.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border or anything else in a fixed position. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might be felt as if it has a fixed centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

This is not a problem for the empty breath because contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it to be in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

I am not a talented illustrator, so instead of making an illustration of the inner breath, I have manipulated an image found on the internet in order to give you an idea of the simultaneously movements inside it.

Alexius has manipulated this scientific illustration on the internet to give you an idea of the simultaneously circular movements inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it. They are countless and all have two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside them. You cannot see those waves in the simplified illustration to the right but in the second image from here.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean that its edges are blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may get bigger and smaller here and there so that it momentarily feels more pear than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each of the circles inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating, so there are many non-fixed centres.

The innumerable amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundaries of the empty breath is located vertically and horizontally plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang-shaped waves inside them. But the circles are actually fused into one yin-yang-shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most probably do not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of many different movements in their size and shape, everything is fused into one single move. But since this can be hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is most likely easier to experience just one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe it comes in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is all about going with the flow. So if it seems to go the opposite way, by all means, follow it.

The flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that instead goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. But the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you experience a second before the brain processes it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Going with the flow of the circular movement in one of the above circles feels like you are surfing two yin-yang-like waves inside the empty breath. But this is just one way to experience the empty breath. Below is a short introduction to ways of feeling it, then a more detailed description of each of them.

Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below paragraph of the same name) or the indifference of it (see the section The empty breath is not the giver of joy and happiness but indifference in the article The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound (see the below paragraph The transparent sound of the empty breath) or felt inside the body (see the below section The swing of the empty breath), or sensed as if nobody is surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experience the empty breath like that, but to inspire you to go with its flow.

d76fd0833b28d1db146c08a2dd2057d91-2

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang-like-looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing the outside of the two yin-yang-like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
In the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right, you see a simplified simulation of the empty breath. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the illustration reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each of the circles inside it contains two non-definitive waves that you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without the holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body.

In the above intro to the empty breath, there is a more detailed explanation of how the circles containing the waves are arranged. As mentioned there, the circle can be smaller and bigger, and the direction does not matter. And besides surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere in between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is to follow the flow as it comes to you. Doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways may be revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate the body with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. It does not work. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to feel something. Thus the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about the past or feel pain in the back, you can get a massage by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you and leaving out the wave in front of you in a vertical circle.

Should you want to be grounded, you surf the full horizontal wave in the lower half of a vertical circle passing through the abdomen or even lower in the direction from the back to the front of you. You could also choose the bottom wave in a vertical circle going from the left to the right side of you – or the wave in the lower half in one or more circles between the two others mentioned. No reason to memorise this. Just go with the flow.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive or deliberate. In that case, you respectively surf all the way around the wave to the right and the left inside a horizontal circle going around the head. In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around the wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling in the chest caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves but only on the side aligned with a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Should you have tight hips, blocked abdomen or spasm in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The size of the circle, thus the waves, adjust to the need for relaxing these areas. Should this release sadness, you may feel like crying. If so, forget about the empty breath and take the time to grieve. Then return to the same circle of the empty breath if that is what the flow calls for.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts of it into a position that benefits the whole. In such case, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

It may call for surfing another combination of other waves, for example the whole wave in front of you in a horizontal circle going around the abdomen and a complete wave in front of you in a vertical circle from the head to the stomach or the other way. Maybe surfing them simultaneously or whatever seems beneficial regarding getting through the problematic areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust it gives you what is in your best interest.

You cannot illustrate the inner breath, as it has no definitive form. This animation, however, may give you an idea about the ´structure´ of the inner breath and the high frequency of its inner movement, which seems to originate from an yin yang like curved line – not just as curved though. It feels like, it is the swing of this floating line that expands and contracts the body, so that it breathes in and out. Unlike an yin yang sign the inner breath is not a flat circle with a curved line, but rather a ball wherein the curved line swings upwards and downwards as well as sideways, forwards and backwards and everything in between. Unfortunately the animation is not able illustrate that, neither how slow the swing of it actually feels in the body. Even though it extremely active inside the ball, the experience of it is that it has all the time in the world to expand and contract the body.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. However, this animation may give you an idea about how the swing of it feels like it comes from the blurred curved line between the two shapes of a yin-yang sign – but less curved. The swing of this line expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. But unlike in a yin-yang sign, the swing of the empty breath is not inside a flat circle but a non-definable ball, in which there are many similar circles with each their curved line. Depending on where one of these circles is experienced to be located, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to swing upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. Unfortunately, the animation is not really illustrating this. Although the swing of it is magnificent, its experience often is that it is very laid-back in expanding and contracting the body.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
What is said above about surfing the empty breath generally also applies to feeling the swing of it, except that this is solely felt inside the body. There the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves is sensed as a swing that extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line in between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath may seem to expand and contract the body slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. Maybe the break in between expansion and contraction also feels too long. But the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that at first, it feels like the body does not have enough room for it.

Surfing the empty breath is done on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas the swing of it is the movement of the curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves in any of the circles.

In other words, the curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. Breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath in the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out, in the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the whole curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in control. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. Read about the taste of life and focus versus defocus in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, the fusion of them at first feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still – see the third image from here – that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation, but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain sparkling with joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if you are surfing yin-yang-like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling of it is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits and where you are not defined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to this aspect of it – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, this force is sensed inside and outside the body. It is often easier to feel its subtle but erratic energy outside of the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. If you do not try to catch its abstractness but go with its fleetness, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

Sensing the operator of the empty breath outside of the body, you will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. From there you probably are transferred to the rhythmic flow of surfing or feeling the swing of the empty breath.

The apparent chaos at the root of the empty breath, where the operator of it resides and where you often land after igniting the empty breath, is therefore a good starting point, when you want to be in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

If you, out of habit, try to focus on the empty breath to hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph) or feel its rhythmic flow, you are bound to perceive it as something and thus fence it off. A more beneficial way to approach the rhythmic flow and transparent sound of the empty breath is to start in the chaos of its root – whether sensed in front or back of the body, on top of it or all around it – because that leaves nothing specifically for you to focus on, wherefore there is not something definitive blocking out hearing or feeling the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

Hearing/feeling the sound of the inner breath, you feel transparent, as if there is nothing to separate you from where you appear to be. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Hearing or feeling the sound of the empty breath, you seem transparent as if there is not something separating you from other appearances in the world of the outward-facing senses. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands the body and ‘ham’ when it contracts it.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, the sound does not seem to have a definable location, so it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body like it has nothing to do with the body.

And as that is actually so, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience like feeling the rhythm of the bass because it cancels out the feeling of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. A sofa, for example, does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it.

This is because you do not perceive bodily experience as specific when you are deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Thus there is no inside and outside and nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it becomes evident that it is unreal. But like the reality in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, the reality of a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being someone in such a world is all pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive).

ello-optimized-08ff975b

Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience this as visions of light, and the auditory-minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional-minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness. The glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One are revealed as the Enlightenment of that which is One if not interpreted to differ from each other. See the article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius does not make a difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

It is not possible to illustrate the empty breath in its totality. But this yin-yang animation (please ignore the holes in the waves and imagine it is completely full of waves) may give you an idea about the simultaneous movement of the yin-yang-like waves inside it.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody really knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. See how to do that in Take-offs into the empty breath and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

The empty breath is not only to be experienced within its border, because it has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive, as only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may have different memories from those of Alexius.

If still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you better read about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely, you feel the empty breath one way or another. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, you miss the empty breath.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. And you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

This is not to say that techniques cannot be helpful with toning down the experience of you as someone definitive so that the apparent existence of you in a tangible world does not seem to be a fact but make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like a remote control have nothing to do with the music, it triggers.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

The look of these sound waves reminds Alexius of how the connectedness with the empty breath often feels and how that makes him indifferent to the apparent differences in the world experienced outside him.

NOTE ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATIONS
Alexius searched the web for animations and still photos to illustrate the different movements of the empty breath in the way he remembers them. He does not know if the illustrators had the empty breath in mind when they made these images – but probably not. Except for the three last ones, the animations are grabbed from Electromagnetic Plasma Energy Light.

NOTE ABOUT THE ARTICLE
The above article that is part of hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing, is to be continued in the next one. What is the empty breath about?.

The speed of unedited thoughts and feelings ignites the bliss of nothing (DRAFT)

Updated May 19, 2022

That which is One can be compared to a movie running so fast that no frames can be seen. A world where there seems to be more than one is the same film slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of many different frames. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Contrary to common belief, oneness is not the same as stillness but as loudness. That is, if the speed of it could be heard. But that is impossible since that requires more than one. You could also say that oneness cannot be experienced because it is an analogue movie played so fast that its frames cannot be seen. The speed merges the frames into one. Hence it is not quietness but speediness that is the bedrock of oneness.

In the context of this metaphor, a world where there seems to be more than one is a movie of oneness slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of frames divided by time and space. Read more about that here.

Those insisting in oneness being stillness want to take it slow, so they have time to control themselves, thus appearing as balanced.

It is, therefore, not calmness but speediness that is needed to accelerate the slowed-down movie of oneness into its natural speed, which is so fast that it cannot be seen. Hence hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is not about slowing down thoughts or stopping them but not holding them back, so their uncontrolled speed ignites a take-off into the empty breath. It syncs the speedy thoughts in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, so they can be further accelerated without you going insane in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Inevitable thoughts move so fast that there is no time to hold onto them to establish you as someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. Therefore, since the inward-facing senses do not see you as definitive, it takes over the perception of the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you are in a state of not-knowing, which is pure bliss.

Suppose the brain is not kept active by you continuously perceiving something as separate. In that case, it cannot uphold your consciousness as someone definitive, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

However, you can only stay in a state of not-knowing 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive because the brain falls into a coma if there is not a continuous dialogue – internal or external – about something that seems to confirm you are someone definitive.

Therefore, if you do not want the brain to fall into a coma and you to disappear into the nothingness from where the experiences of what you believe in being is fabricated by the brain, you must return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of something by resuming your grievances about the world experienced to be outside of you, so you again are established as separated from what you experience, thus someone definitive.

Instead of returning from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being someone definitive, you can remain there until you are unaware of something specific. Therefore, since there is not something to confirm you are someone, there is nothing to be absorbed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read about that in HACK #6, The inward-facing senses, Enlightenment, and glimpses of it. This does not only mean that the appearance of you as someone definitive is over, but you have never existed, neither materially nor spiritually, because it takes more than one to exist.

Most, however, never enter a state of not-knowing, and if they do, they quickly leave it. But in this hack, you get to unlearn the collectively agreed ways of pacifying yourself through meditation and television, for example, but instead, step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions to ignite a take-off into the empty breath that slowly but surely exposes your experiences of something as nothing. Therefore, since your slate is wiped clean by the bliss of nothing, you become nobody pretending to be somebody in a world where there seems to be something.

To not forget being nobody, you may go back to a state of not-knowing to have the slate wiped clean again. Or maybe you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is,‘ thus being in sync with the duality flow, which never stops at something specific, so you cannot be somebody. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Since there is no more than that which is One, everything in a world where there seems to be more than one is absurd. That includes Alexius’ Duality Hacks. Yet their application undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to sit in particular postures or do something extraordinary to take-off into the empty breath. Instead, you acknowledge your present chaos of thoughts or feelings without trying to shape them by a specific belief system. When you edit them, the energy of chaos is replaced by the numbness of order.

To achieve this, you do nothing but be it (more about that below in the big box). This is not only the take-off into the empty breath but also the destination because totally being something leaves nothing to contrast it, thus nothing to define you, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing.

Have you already have organised the chaos of thoughts or feelings into a specific belief system, there is no need to go back to chaos to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. You acknowledge its suppression by being nothing but paralysed (read more about that here, thus undefinable.

But you do not know the bliss of not being someone before you return to the conscious experience of being that, and blissfully memories of emptiness start popping up. However, you know you are nobody when you do not care about what and where you appear to be.

When trying to control, change or stop thoughts and feelings, they are slowed down. Thus they do not have the speed needed to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, where they lose their apparent meaning, thus their apparent power to define you as someone definitive.

Please be aware that the above explanation of that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one is as absurd as any other explanation because it requires more than one to explain something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

If you feel as an outsider, it is not solved by blaming others but by solely feeling wrong. Since that means there is nothing to contrast what you feel, it cannot be defined. Consequently, you feel nothing but the bliss of emptiness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not get rid of an emotional problem by suppressing it but by feeling it. This is not done by sharing it with friends, nor by focusing on the cause with the help of a psychiatrist. These approaches disassociate you from your feeling. And you cannot get rid of it if you do not feel it.

So instead of sharing what you imagine to feel with somebody else, feel it all by yourself until you are nothing but that, thus eliminating a feeling to contrast it, wherefore there is not something to define you having a problem or anything else. Consequently, you are in a state of not-knowing.

When returning from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone, like a criminal, you do not think in terms of right or wrong. But unlike a criminal, you do not replace these categories with a calculation of what you can get away with it. Instead, you remain in their interaction, which is the duality flow. Being in that, there is nothing to disturb you from falling into a state of not-knowing again and again.

Read about the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Notes on ‘the duality flow’ 2/2 [draft]

Updated October 4, 2022

Going with the duality flow, hate does not make you frown but smile :) Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

To feel important is a single-minded notion that has been separated from its counterpart. Hence it brings about loneliness. But in the duality flow, importance interacts with unimportance. Thus you get togetherness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling good is not a matter of making the body relax but how you perceive your reaction to its condition. For example, if your response is irritation, you assume your body is its source. But you cannot improve anything in the body so as not to feel disturbed because the problem is in your perception. This does not mean you instantly feel relaxed if you perceive your reaction to the body’s condition as ‘it is what it is,’ but you see relaxation is coupled with unhappiness. Hence you feel relaxed if you stand by your irritation instead of blaming the body for it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Having followed the duality flow for some time, the specific state of mind you used to conjure up to feel at ease is forever out of reach. Now everything is seen as twofold. What this means, you do not know. Nor do you care because you feel complete by the constant interaction of opposites. Hence there is no need for a specific state of mind or perspective to escape feeling disturbed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the duality flow, you feel complete, so although you may seem as clumsy as ever, it does not make you feel wrong.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you succeed in letting go of your hatred, you also get rid of the ability to feel love because everything comes in pairs of opposing elements that define each other. Hate defines love and vice versa, so you cannot have one without the other.

Therefore, to quickly get back the love you have discarded by projecting your hate onto others, you perceive ‘their’ hate as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals it is coupled with love. And since you can only see what you have, you feel the togetherness of love and hate inside you. Read here about quickly bringing back your repressed emotions by seeing them in others.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is relaxing and energising, not to control your appearance but go with the duality flow – as you go with the flow of the waves when swimming. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Your response to something is not singular but twofold when you are in the duality flow. Therefore, since nothing is considered distinctly right or wrong, nothing is seen as problematic. But since most people are identified with their problems, they hang onto them by maintaining their conditioned views of right and wrong, although it makes them feel imprisoned. However, they can have their problems and still feel free if they do not judge them as precisely right or wrong but instead go with the interaction of right and wrong. For example, if you appear to be clumsy and do not judge that to be right or wrong, you have your problem, but it is not problematic.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being intuitive, you do not try to interfere with the brain. Thus you are in the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

We usually do not think about how to digest the food we eat because it happens by itself. You do not even have to plan to prepare a meal when in the duality flow.* It may not occur in the systematised way you were used to but in the spontaneous way of nature. It does not plant seeds in rows to get the most in return but enthusiastically throws them everywhere to see what happens. Nor does it build something totalitarian, such as Bauhaus or construct a meal in a categorical style like Nordic. In other words, following the duality flow** is never definitive.

Therefore, although preparing dinner seems more unpredictable, you can count on having fun because your experience is in sync with the present moment. But if you repeat the same procedure another day, it will not feel like a comedy. Every day is a new surprise. That said, there may be a period of transition where you try to hold onto your old single-minded perceptions of how to cook. When it does not work, thus triggering old feelings of despair, you are about to cry.

The solution is not to stop the discomfort but to stand by it, so the definitive meaning you have decided it has can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, it makes you feel complete. Eventually, so much that you realise you are nothing but appearance. Hence there does not seem to be someone to hide that non-duality is all there is and always was.

That said, you neither have to plan your dinner yourself when not in the duality flow because the brain is always in charge. Suppose the making of the dinner seemed to go according to your plan. In that case, it is because you, in retrospect, interpreted it, so it turned out as hoped for – like you shape a chaotic dream with words such as patterns, displacement activity, unity, synchronicity and karma. Thus it seems consistent with your point of view. However, editing your experiences is exhausting and makes you feel incomplete. But going with them as they are is effortless, you feel complete because you gry the interaction of opposites, thus the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The opposing elements in the duality pairs you encounter are equally valued in the duality flow. Thus it is probably the closest you get to being singular in a world of duality. This might be why the more you are in the duality flow, the more you forget to believe there is more than one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

At first, it may seem confusing to be in the duality flow. It is like having vertigo. But, fortunately, without the visions of the world spinning around you. Inside you, there is constant movement between opposites. Thus nothing definitive you can use to navigate your way in the world. No worries. There never was. It was just something you made up to feel in control. Now you know that was a lie. Hence you are free to go with the duality flow.

But getting to this point may be difficult for those who consider themselves spiritual. They often hide their feelings in an attempt to appear detached. But if you do not feel your emotions, they cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Hence they remain as specific feelings in the dark, and you go on in the benumbed state that

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the constant interaction of opposites, making up the duality flow, it is equally entertaining to be somebody as nobody.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Alexius’ Duality Hacks logically concludes that since it takes more than one to have a shape, oneness is formless, thus endless. Consequently, there is no more than that which is One. But since it takes more than one to read this, you believe it is possible to be and have more than one.

No worries, continuing as if you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, you honour your choice to believe it is possible to be and have more than one. Hence you are in a position to undo it. If you do that by bidding welcome the enlightenment of that which is One, the undoing does not occur gradually but straight away without warning (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One).

But since the temporal length of an event is an illusion, you may take your time and begin following the duality flow so you can enjoy appearing to be and have more than one until this experience, like anything else that has a beginning, ends without any effort of yours.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In most cases, therapy replaces one specific attitude with another, thus working against the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

By suppressing the feelings you dislike, you conceal those you like because everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. Therefore, since you always feel oppressed, the present moment seems blurry. You try to compensate for this by preparing yourself to be present in the next moment. But it never goes as planned. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you perceive your reaction to everything as ‘it is what it is,’ there is no need to fence off seeing yourself as a monster by accusing others of evil because this perception uncovers the beast in you contains an angel. Besides, the interaction of these opposites, and all others, reveals the duality flow. Being in that, you feel complete, so you do not need to denigrate others to feel better about yourself.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you have chosen that falling makes you feel angry, and if that is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it is revealed to be paired with feeling peaceful. However, those labels are unimportant. What matters is the constant interaction between them. This is the duality flow. Following it, you feel whole. That is why you cannot help but laugh.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being unselfish is like playing a game. You are not there. It is something you imagine. Thus every action is selfless. However, most do not want to be nobody in the game of duality. On the contrary, they crave to make a difference to shape the game through particular ideas of spirituality. In other words, they insist on living their unique way, although they do not know who they are.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You feel frustrated until you stop looking for a specific appearance to make you feel better and go with the constant interaction of opposing elements. You neither stop nor start in this interplay. And you do not remain with a particular pair of opposites but in the movement between opposing elements. That is the duality flow. When you begin to follow it, sooner or later, duality is bound to stop because every beginning has an end in a world of duality.

Just before you pick up the duality flow in a new pair of opposing elements, there is a moment of nothing and, therefore, not something that seems to hide non-duality. At this moment, you might hear the sound that seemed to set off the world of duality. It is often symbolised by Aum or Sohang and, in Western religion, The Word of God. Read here how to hear it.

However, this vibration is not non-duality because it takes more than one to hear something. But when no one hears anything specific, the sound of this vibration wipes out duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There is no truth to extract from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. They are a part of a world where there seems to be more than one, and such a world is non-existing because there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Hence, the basic and special self’s differentiation and perceptions are nonsense.

Nevertheless, this craziness can be beneficial in exposing the absurdity of believing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

*) This is not to say that you never need to think ahead to get something done. But thoughts for that come automatically when you are in the duality flow.

**) Actually, preparing something is not more unpredictable when following the duality flow. It only seems so because when not in the duality flow, you cut off everything from your awareness that does not confirm you are in control.

The body is made to deal with physical issues, not psychological ones [draft]

Updated October 4, 2022

There is no grand purpose for appearing to be or have a self – like there is no purpose in appearing as someone in a computer game except for having fun pretending to be what you are not. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading about the perception ‘it is what it is’ in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to be happy, and the special self in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is not only Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings that talk about using the body to hide psychological problems. In Bioenergetics (see Wikipedia about that), it is the theory that the body gets sick because you dump psychological issues in it. Before Freud, it was the other way around. Then, the cause of psychological problems was considered physical.

However, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings do not agree on a link between psychological and physical problems. Even though the same organ in the brain processes their experience, they are not combinable – like night and day, also rendered by the same organ, they cannot be experienced simultaneously. They exclude each other and can only be combined in fantasy. In other words, it is not love but food the body needs to survive. And on a psychological level, it is not food but love that makes you go on.

Fortunately, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings expose the insanity of the imagined fusion of a physical symptom and one’s anxiety. Thus the physical issue can be dealt with materially and the psychological one mentally or emotionally. Consequently, psychologically speaking, you can feel fine, regardless of your body’s condition.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self dissociates itself from psychological feelings by imagining dumping them in the body. Although this removes them from self-awareness, they remain in the subconscious as something believed to be buried in obscure parts of their body. When the suppressed energy surfaces, it feels like something is wrong in those parts. But even if the special self succeeds in healing them, another part of the body feels wrong.

That is because the problem is not in the body but in your perception. You reckon if you hide your unwanted psychological issues in obscure parts of the body, you will look so good that nobody notices you do not feel good. To undo this mistake, you must bring back the unpleasant feelings to your awareness so they can define you as wonderful. Hence trouble does not seem dangerous. On the contrary, it displays the wonders in you. Read more about that here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self uses much energy to suppress the thoughts and feelings judged politically incorrect per its belief system so that it appears to be part of something special. On the other hand, the basic self follows the brain. And since it creates all experiences, the basic self is part of everything. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The special self uses much energy to suppress the thoughts and feelings judged as negative. It deems this necessary to preserve what it believes in being or becoming when it lives in the now, comes from the heart and whatnot. However, the basic self has no desire to appear in a special way, thus no need to judge something as wrong.

Besides, it knows negativity is just as crucial as positivity. For example, an electric wire needs the negative pole as much as the positive one to make the energy required to publish this article on the internet.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you decide you are clumsy when continually dropping something, you may, by reflex, hide this feeling of silliness in the stomach and, eventually, be diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). It is not physically measurable through blood or bodily analysis. Instead, the diagnosis is based on eliminating other measurable issues, indicating IBS is a psychosomatic disorder.

That is why it is not healed via physical solutions such as excluding bread, onions and whatnot. Instead, the issue must be addressed in the psychological sphere where you see yourself as awkward and looking for something to confirm it.

That is not to say that you should avoid a diet like FODMAP. In the case of IBS, it might be an excellent way to relieve stomach pain, so you have the strength to accept your insecurity instead of dumping it in the stomach. Your clumsiness is not a fact but an opinion of yours. If you do not try to hide this opinion in the stomach but perceive it as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your singular view is twofold. Clumsiness is paired with grace to define each other. In other words, since you cannot have one without the other, when you are clumsy, you are also graceful. Thus in the interaction of opposites, which is what makes you feel complete in a world of duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always thinks it knows better. Thus it forces the body to do extreme yoga exercises, heavy weight lifting, restricting diets, tantra sex, or other mental concepts of wellness that make the body appear to be a manifestation of the special self. The price is a body in pain, but since the primary concern of the special self is its appearance, it gladly pays that price.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The paradox in trying to heal a psychosomatic disorder is that it reinforces the fear of the physical symptoms, thus the impression that psychological and physical issues are linked and result in a psychosomatic disorder.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Like a strawn is built to deal with fluid and not tangible things, the body is made to deal with material and not immaterial matters. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When physical symptoms of illness trigger memories of endangerment and those two are combined, the physical symptoms are perceived to cause a threat. Hence a fusion of physical and psychological reality seems to have been established. However, the physical and mental reality does not mix except in fantasy. So to heal the problem, the psychosomatic disorder must be split into physical and psychological issues.

Therefore, regarding the psychological issue, you disregard the pain in the body because although it is experienced as linked with the psychological issue, the connection is imaginative. Hence the non-physical problem is faced in the psychological sphere. One look at it is enough because psychological feelings are fleeting when not combined with a physical problem and thus turned into something substantial and lasting.

But since the pain in the body is physical, it remains the same when the psychological issue is solved. But maybe not for long because the physical symptom is not mixed up with a psychological issue. Hence the body’s biological system is free to deal with the physical symptom as it was made to do.

To sum it up: When you appear sick, and your concern about the physical symptom triggers a past sense of danger that you interpret as caused by the present physical symptom, you develop a psychosomatic disorder. But since the body cannot be fused with non-physical issues, no cure will work until this imagined combo is undone so that each problem can be dealt with on its term.

This differentiation between physical and non-physical matters occurs automatically when you are the basic self. It relates to the stream of thoughts coming from the brain as it is and not as it should per a body-mind concept trying to establish consistency and meaning where there is none.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If your phone is out of order and seems to make you upset, having the phone fixed may appear to address your anger as well. But the phone has neither the power to make you angry nor stop it. So even though the rage has disappeared from your awareness, it will return when something else triggers it. That is unless you deal with the phone and your fury separately, so both problems were solved on their level. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The special self preserves its friendly image by imagining all its nasty psychological issues hidden behind physical problems. To prevent them from surfacing and expose its peaceful image as fake, the special self never allows itself to relax except through structured systems like Tai chi. On the other hand, the basic self has no special image to uphold. Hence relaxing comes naturally.

That does not mean the basic self never explodes with anger. But, contrary to the special self, it does not see it as wrong. Therefore, since it never hides its rage or any other emotion from itself but perceives its reaction to them as ‘it is what it is,’ it has nothing to conceal.

That said, nobody is perfect, so there may have been times when the basic self forgot to perceive its reaction to something as ‘it is what it is.’ No problem. It is never too late to perceive a past response as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus having it revealed not to be definitive but twofold, there is no specific feeling to avoid.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Both a body and a car need water and food to function. You cannot replace that with spirituality, nor can it change how they work. A body and a car need physical treatment and can only be used physically. Love does not transform them into something else. But unlike a car, the body can heal itself if you do not project non-physical issues onto it. That said, sometimes it needs the assistance of a health care professional.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self does not want to see itself as it is, so it excludes everything from its awareness that does not ratify the image of perfectness it has fabricated. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Being the basic self, you perceive every moment as the perfect moment, no matter the body’s condition, because the basic self perceives its reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ That is why Alexius feels good even though his physical condition does not contribute to this. Due to Scheuermann’s disease, internal organs have been harmed, so he has chronic GERD and inflammation in the lungs and the nose. Furthermore, he has had three operations on the heart. And one of his eyes hardly works. The list goes on.

He has never smoked and has always eaten healthy and exercised, so it seems he cannot improve his physical issues. Sometimes, though, he turns into the special self to boost his physical well-being. But since this attempt is based on not feeling good enough, it enhances that feeling. Therefore, frustration builds up until he returns to the default perception of the basic self, ‘it is what it is.’ Thus he feels good, regardless of appearance.

That is not to say you should not take care of the body when you are the basic self because you are bound to follow the brain’s instructions regardless of being basic or special. And they include taking care of the body. However, the special self does not like to follow orders, so it hides that it obeys the brain by making a perception where the special self appears to be in charge or going with a unique flow.

As that perception is out of sync with the brain’s script, the special self does not feel loved but rejected. This feeling is disguised by projecting it onto obscure parts of the body. But you cannot hide an abstract problem in something substantial. The body senses you try to do that and fight it by shooting off here and there. Thus, your attempt to combine a psychological issue with a physical one turns into a psychosomatic disorder that cannot be healed until the unfortunate belief in this combo is dropped.

Hereafter the body is free to heal itself, and emotional problems can be dealt with in the non-physical sphere where they were conceived. Actually, the non-physical area is so airy that your psychological issues disappear when you look at them. In other words, they do not remain for long when not hidden from your awareness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In a world where there seems to be more than one, you appear to get rid of unwanted emotions by hiding them in the body and later free them from imprisonment by bringing them back into the psyche.

But since there is no more than that which is One, ultimately speaking, there is nothing to heal other than the belief that you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. Fortunately, Alexius’ Duality Hacks automatically do that when you keep reading them.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Alexius’ Duality Hacks perceive everything as themselves, namely as nothing. Therefore, since they do not see your problems, they do not hold you back from having the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One undone.

The fake link between physical and psychological issues [DRAFT]

Updated October 3, 2022

Those who think their body should be transformed and become more spiritual need to be more physical. The body is solely material. Hence it cannot be mixed with something immaterial. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading about the perception ‘it is what it is’ in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to be happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

For years there has been an unhealthy idea about uniting body, mind and soul. But the body is a physical unit built to deal with material matters, not mental, emotional or metaphysical ones – like cyberspace cannot contain anything physical. In other words, the assumed link between a problem in the psyche and the body, or vice versa, is make-believe. How to undo that is what hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues explores.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is natural to feel tired after working, jogging or something else that requires much energy. But if you respond with worries to feeling exhausted and assume those feelings are connected, you feel like collapsing. But since it is a made-up feeling, thus unnatural, there is nothing that can heal it.

But if you deal with tiredness in a physical manner, the problem is probably solved by a good night’s sleep. And if you deal with worries where they are, namely in the mental sphere, you will see it has nothing to do with feeling tired but inferior because feeling exhausted triggers old feelings of not making it. But you made it. That is why you are tired. And you will feel anew after resting the body.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Although the clothes and the body wearing them seem closely related, they do not understand each other. The clothes have no love or anything else to give the body and vice versa. Likewise, immateriality and materiality have nothing to give each other. Their reality is different. That is why psychological ideas of how to attain physical wellness do not work.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since psychological issues seem to impact the body greatly, many conclude they are connected. But that is like assuming clothes are connected with the body. They have absolutely nothing in common.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The body is made to interact with structures that, like itself, are material. That is why the body interprets your attempts to integrate it with non-physical feelings or ideas of spirituality as an attack on its integrity, which it must defend itself against.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You will never find anything physical in the digital world. Likewise, you never see something physical in the psychological sphere or vice versa. That is why the concept of a body-mind connection is a scam.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Non-physical feelings are fleeting, so if you want to make them last, you must combine them with something more lasting, like physical feelings. However, immateriality and materiality do not mix, so their combination is purely speculative. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The nature of non-physical feelings is fleeting, so if you experience a specific one continuously, it is not due to the feeling but to you. You probably have combined it with a physical sensation in the body, which is more substantial and may last a long time. Therefore, imagining the psychological feeling in the stomach, for example, you seem to experience it every time you get physical pain in the stomach.

But if it is an exceptional experience of love you want to keep, you probably combine it with a pleasant physical notion in the heart. And if it is a hateful memory you want to hold onto, you link it with physical unpleasantness in the chest. However, just as you cannot combine a wall with the wind, fusing a body with an abstract feeling is impossible. Yet, it is possible to mentally blend the experience of physicality and psychology so that whenever you experience a specific kind of love, you think you feel something nice in the heart. And whenever you feel hatred towards someone, you sense something weird in the chest. In both cases, it is a mental experience based on the wish to extend a psychological feeling by imagining it is linked with a physical experience.

Since you believe in feeling something in the heart or chest that is not there, you have a problem you cannot address. That is until you split this psychosomatic disorder into immaterial and material issues and deal with them on each term. Should breaking up the psychosomatic disorder seem difficult, forget about it.

Instead, perceive your reaction to the perceived problem in the chest as ‘it is what it is.’ That renders your response indefinable. Therefore, since the body is set free from your opinion, it can outline the physical part of the combo and heal it in agreement with physical laws. Most likely, the problem is the muscles. They have tightened up to defend against your attempt to use the body to manifest non-physical issues. In that case, you can help the body by massaging it with fasciae tools from Blackroll, for example. However, to ensure there is no hidden heart problem, it is good to consult a health care professional.

The psychological feeling only seems sticky or hidden when imagined combined with something lasting. But undoing this fantasy may at first seem like torture because it involves facing the suppressed emotion or at least being willing to do it. No worries, as long as you do not edit the unpleasantness, it will not remain for long because the nature of psychological feelings is to pass on when looked at where they are, namely in the psychological sphere. Read more about this process in Sadness is a close friend of gladness.

Unfortunately, most people do not want to undo the belief in a body-mind connection. On the contrary, they want to uphold their imagined union of immaterial and material issues as real so that they can extend specific emotions and thus remain in fantasies of being forever in love, for example. Should their extended feelings be questioned, they refer to the bodily symptoms they claim are caused by psychological issues.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When we project the weaknesses of our personality onto how we feel vulnerable parts of the body, such as the stomach, our perceived flaws seem to have been erased from our awareness. That is how we fool ourselves into believing we have been transformed. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You have excluded from your awareness what you do not like about yourself by imagining it is linked with the feeling of a vulnerable part of the body. Therefore, since your psychological issues seem hidden inside physical problems, you unconsciously resist healing the physical difficulties that you imagine are blended with psychological problems.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you see a scary movie that is experienced as real, it is because it feels like fear builds up in your body. However, the film has no power to do that. What you sense in the body is purely physical. It is not caused by the events in the movie but by how you perceive them.

You perceive the events as scary because you have conditioned yourself to interpret specific scenarios like that. And to make fear real, you project it onto a body part that already is tense and seems to get tenser when you give it your attention. Thus it feels as if the movie affects your body.

Sometimes, it goes the other way around. For example, you have a stomach ache, but it does not add meaning to your life. So you imagine a psychological issue from your past causes the pain. Unfortunately, this perceived combination results in an incurable psychosomatic disorder – especially because the psychological part most likely is pieced together.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Projecting psychological feelings onto the body and expecting them to go away when the body is fixed is like placing those feelings in your smartphone and thinking they to go away when the phone is repaired. No matter the material object you imagine to insert psychological feelings into, they remain in the psychological sphere. Hence it is there they must be dealt with.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot avoid events you see as sad, but you can refrain from perceiving them like that. That naturally occurs for the basic self. Thus it has no need for special events to make it happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It does not rain because you feel sad, nor does the rain has the power to make you feel bad. That is unless you choose to perceive such a course and effect. Likewise, the body cannot make you sad, nor does feeling unhappy make the body bad unless you imagine such a connection.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you do not look for anything to make you feel better, your reaction to everything automatically is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Consequently, there is not something to upset you. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Many people turn the body’s signals into mental messages by dematerialising the body – the genital zone, for example, is dematerialised via tantra sex. Read more about sex here. Thus it seems you mentally can decide that the signals from the abandoned areas are spiritual. But there is no spirituality in the body. On the contrary, the body is material. That is why it defends itself against the attempts to combine it with non-physical issues by turning it into a weapon against you.

Even though this feels distressing, you accept it because this further disrupts the natural flow of communication between the body and the brain, so you, not the brain, seem to be the body’s boss. However, the body does not understand the thought-up vision of a body-mind-soul connection. So again, it attacks your ideas of integrating it with spirituality by making the body suffer. And on it goes until you stop inflicting the body with your ideas of unity.

Fortunately, it does not matter how abused your body is regarding applying Alexius’ Duality Hacks. They bring you into a state of not-knowing regardless of the body. In this state, the slate is wiped clean, So when you return to the consciousness of being someone, the foolish ideas of a body-mind-soul connection are gone. Thus your body is happy, and since you appear to be in it, so are you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Most do not feel and see the body as it is. Instead, they have a vision of what it will feel and look like in the future when they have successfully imposed their ideas of perfection upon it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you perceive your response to an experience as ‘I know what it is,’ it is based on a quick look at different points of view to see which one establishes you as in the know. The feeling of stress that this entails is not solved before you stop insisting, ‘I know what it is,’ and instead perceive your response as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception does not require you are on top of it. Thus, you are at peace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ the specific meaning you decided your response opens up and reveals it is not singular but twofold. Therefore, paired with being pure, lust does not make you feel ashamed but joyful. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The fastest way to repair a psychosomatic disorder is to not perceive it as ‘I know what it is but ‘it is what it is.’ The first view is definite, whereas the second one does not have a monocratic but dualistic approach. Hence the second view aligns you with dualism, and since you are in a world of duality, this is the way to go if you want to feel complete.

In other words, to start the healing of a psychosomatic disorder, there is nothing you need to change but your perception of your reaction to it. Read more about that in The body is made to deal with physical issues, not psychological ones.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Sometimes, the breath is held back to prevent pain in a problematic body area. That is not healthy, nor is pushing the breath through it. Both approaches imply you believe that you are in control. However, you would quickly die if you should remember to breathe.

The solution to this is not to let the breath be. This idea also implies you are in charge. The key is to step back so that what you believe in being is out of the way. That is done by perceiving the fear that your problem seems to cause as ‘it is what it is.’ It reveals fear is not alone. It is complemented by confidence, defined by fear that outlines confidence.

In this interplay, called the duality flow, you feel complete, thus free. Therefore, since there is no attempt to interfere with the breath, it runs freely despite physical issues. Read more about the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Whatever is perceived in the psyche to affect the body or in the body to affect the psyche is made-up connections. Fortunately, they are undone when you perceive your reaction to the effect as ‘it is what it is.’ However, you may feel empty when the idea of a body-mind connection goes down the drain. No worries. Soon you realise how laid-back life is without this fake unity.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks reestablishes the connection between the body and the brain. Not by healing the body, though, but by undoing the foolish belief that you are connected with it. Hence it becomes like a coat you wear. It follows you, but you are worlds apart.

4.3 The psychological and physical sphere does not mix

Updated October 5, 2022

If you feel rejected, there is no reason for the body to suffer. Nor is there any reason for not feeling good if the body suffers from an illness. That is, if you do not mix a psychological problem with a physical one into a psychosomatic disorder. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

In a world of duality, everything comes in pairs, where the opposing elements depend on each other. For example, you cannot breathe out without breathing in and vice versa. Although it is unrealistic to mix the elements in a duality pair, it is common to believe that you can integrate physical and non-physical issues. However, it is like trying to blend breathing in and out. You fuck up duality.

That said, since non-duality is formless, thus endless, duality is a fantasy. Hence everything in a world of duality, regardless of appearing physical or not, is as airy as a dream. In other words, it is only within the context of duality that something seems substantial or unsubstantial. And since you assume to be someone reading this on tangible media, you believe to be in a world of duality.

You cannot undo that belief if you do not acknowledge it by living it. Hence it is best not to separate or combine the opposing elements in a duality pair but respect their interdependency. However, it is a common belief that physical and non-physical issues can be connected, so this hack explores how to correct that mistake.

Allhough projections are not real, they appear to be if you hide that their apparent effect is self-made. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you denigrate others to make yourself feel good, you live in constant fear of retaliation. Hence you turn the body into a weapon of defence or attack by respectively keeping your shoulders deadlocked in a backwards or forward position.

That makes the muscles inflexible, wherefore they, eventually, start to ache. The solution to your attack on the body is to acknowledge, you have chosen hurt it. By doing that, the body is not to blame. Thus it relaxes.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL PROBLEMS MUST BE HEALED WHERE THEY ORIGINATE:
In the mental sphere, you perceive yourself as someone in a body defined by time and space. But since that which is you is formless, thus without beginning and end, it is painful to be reduced to someone limited by time and space.

Nevertheless, it is a pain that makes you feel like someone in a material world. When you pinch yourself to determine whether you are dreaming, the experience of pain makes you decide that you are a substantial being in a tangible world.

Since your existence is bracketed with pain, you need to suffer to feel alive. And since being someone in a world defined by time and space is based on separating yourself from the formlessness of oneness, disassociating is also what you resort to in making the pain bearable. Thus you hide the worst part of your psychological distress from your awareness by projecting it onto the body.

Somehow you sense the physical discomfort experienced in the body comes from somewhere else. But instead of acknowledging that you projected psychological problems onto the body, you choose to blame the world for your discomfort. Then, to deal with its expected counterattack, you turn the body into a weapon of defence or attack against the world by keeping the shoulders pushed forward into a defensive position or pushed back into a place of constant readiness to attack.

That makes you feel safer and as if you are in control. Especially if you push one of the shoulders upwards to constrict that area further. It prevents the signals in the body from passing through the shoulders to the brain. Maybe the signals are not totally stopped but ever so slightly is enough for you to believe the brain is defeated, so you can take over as the boss and mentally decide what goes on in the body. Since this distance you from what you feel in the body, it seems less frightening than when the brain deals with the body’s feelings.

A way to keep negative feelings hidden inside the body is to hold the mouth closed, even when you smile. Hence it is as if no bad emotion slips out. However, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. So if you exclude negativity, positivity is also banned. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Women tend to allow the body’s emotions to flow to the brain. But they prevent the expression of feelings processed by the brain by replacing them with a mental story in which a woman is the expert of emotions, both her own and others. Her made-up insight she uses to manipulate others into acknowledging her as a unique and caring person.

Generally, men also want to be acknowledged as unique. So they prevent the body’s emotions from reaching the brain. Thus they can make up a story where men, like heroes, do the right thing regardless of feelings. Unfortunately, this way of hiding their feelings stiffens the left side of the body, whereas the woman’s approach hardens the right side. There are many opinions about how to restore the body. But since the disruption is caused by the idea that you master the body, the problem is in the mental sphere, where you feel inferior.

The brain loves when its experiences make you believe you are something, so you do not discover what you experience is fantasy it has made from nothing.

However, that is a misunderstanding based on the perception that you are definitive and not dual. Fortunately, it is easily corrected. Suppose your definite response to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals everything in a world of duality, so to feel abandoned, for example, is complemented by feeling supported. Since twofoldness makes you feel together, you do not doubt you are good enough as you are.

Ultimately, you are not dual, nor anything else, because reality is non-dual and it takes more than one to be something. But like you adjust to the concept of a computer game, you adjust to twofoldness when playing the game of duality.

Therefore, since you do not interfere with the body to make you look more perfect, its feelings flow freely to the brain, which has the body’s blueprint, thus knowing how to restore the body.

You cannot mix a circle and a square, nor the psychological and physical domain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE FUSION OF MATERIAL AND IMMATERIAL ISSUES IS MAKE-BELIEVE:
To disassociate yourself from anger, you exclude the feeling from your awareness by dumping it in the body’s darkness. At least, this is how a psychologist explains it. But immaterial issues cannot be hidden in something material – like you cannot hide the wind inside a wall. So what actually happens is that you imagine combining psychological pain with an existing physical pain in the back, for example.

When you once have concluded your anxiety is caused by physical pain, you by reflex look for the same connection every time you are worried. Hence you automatically search the body for a flaw that can explain you feel worried. That is until you do not try to explain it away, but perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’

That reveals your anxiety is in constant interaction with pleasure to define each other. Therefore, since feeling worried includes being delighted and vice versa, there is no need to get rid of of your worries to feel good. On the contrary, you need them to feel geniuly delighted.

Therefore, since the psychological problem is sensed to be the same as the discomfort from the physical issue in the back, you believe the psychological pain is gone. That is why you, after having tried this method once, automatically combine an immaterial problem with a material one to make it go away.

But as already said, a psychological issue cannot be combined with a physical one. Consequently, its perceived result, namely a psychosomatic disorder, is impossible to heal unless seen as two problems: A psychological one that feels like anxiety for something diffused. And a physical problem that is experienced as more straightforward and matter-of-fact.

Best not to try to analyse or understand those two feelings. Instead, experience your emotional issue unedited and then perceive your reaction to it asit is what it is.’ Since that takes the edge of it, you do not need to get rid of your psychological problem by combining it with the experience of a physical one. Therefore, since the body does not feel invaded by a non-physical issue, it does not need to defend itself by attacking this and that. Instead, it uses its energy to fix physical problems.

Be aware, though, whether you project psychological issues on the body or not, it remains the same because non-material matters do not change the body – only the way you perceive it. Also, be aware that the purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hack is not to heal the body but the sick belief that someone is in it.

But even though Alexius’ Duality Hacks only heal the belief that you are someone in a body, having that belief undone, ever so slightly, you do not want to interfere with the body’s ways. But you may wish to assist it. In the case of Alexius, he uses nootropics to boost the brain, far-infrared heating pads to soften the body, rollers from Blackroll to loosen muscles, and Nordic Walking to energise the body. That is not to say you should do the same. Bodies are different, so your body may ask for something else. If in doubt, consult a health care professional.

The psychological sphere is anywhere but in bodily feelings.Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

APPENDIX 1: WHERE IS THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SPHERE?
The psychological sphere is anywhere but in bodily feelings. So when you bring back into awareness the psychological feelings you have hidden in your body, you face them anywhere but in the body. And since the psychological sphere is airy, one look is enough to make it vanish and reveal its opposite. For example, one look at hate replaces it with love, which, when looked at, is replaced by hate.

In other words, hate and love constantly interact to define each other. Going with this interaction in the psychological zone, you feel complete. And doing that, you see everything comes in pairs of opposing opposites in a world of duality. That is what makes it fun to experience it. That is, if you do not imagine hiding one part of a duality pair in the body. Then duality seems a disaster. Also, if you imagine the opposing parts of a duality pair are united. That is like trying to unite breathing in and out.

The opposing elements in a duality pair must be kept separate to constantly interact and thus entail the duality flow, making the body free to deal with itself in a physical manner since you do not project non-physical issues onto it.

Defocusing is beneficial in not focusing on the body but sensing the airy feelings in the psychological zone. Read more about defocusing in the articles Defocusing cancels out contrasts, thus duality and The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them. And read more about duality pairs and the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

It is also beneficial to remember that although a physical problem can be serious, it is most likely not as worrisome as it appears when combined with psychological feelings. Thus there is no need for this spanking of yourself.

If pain in the mind is not denied the words that seems to cause the pain cannot hurt, but words projected onto the body – your own or somebody else´s – seems to be able to hurt and confirm the believe, that you are a person to be defined by time and space.

Feelings or thoughts you do not like, you hide from your awareness by imagining they can be dumped in the body. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

APPENDIX 2: THE BODY IS PHYSICAL:
Think of a movie you watch as a metaphor for the physical. The mental zone cannot be seen. It is something you add yourself to the movie. Yet, it does not change anything but your perception of it.

In other words, in the context of the world where we appear, everything is made of matter. However, contrary to a body in a movie, your body has feelings – but only physical ones. If it seems to have psychological feelings, you have projected them onto the body to make it appear more significant or the emotions more substantial. It could also be that you want to hide psychological issues from your awareness behind something physical, as described above.

But just like nothing changes in a movie, regardless of what you project onto it, nothing is transformed in your body when you project non-bodily issues on it. It only seems so if you envision that mentally.

The obsession with the look and performance you expect from the body causes much trouble. If you want to be free from that, the belief that you are someone in a body must be undone.

Please be aware this metaphor is made within the reality of duality. In non-duality, there is nothing tangible or intangible because there is no division like in a world of duality. However, appearing to be in such a world, you must play the polarity game if you want to end it. That does not mean you have to make an effort or understand it. Like in a board game, you move by the dice. And when the meaning you assign to the result is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold, wherefore you are in the duality flow. Thus on the way without distance to non-duality. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Happiness cannot be found. It comes effortlessly when in sync with duality

Updated September 29, 2022

What you believe to be can be compared to a smartphone. Although it can do thousands of things, it depends entirely on its operator – just like you do on the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Although the basic self feels free to follow the brain and the special self believes it is free from it, none is free. Since the brain processes all experiences, also those believed to come from the heart, higher consciousness and whatnot, we are a product of the brain. The special self denies this and opposes the brain. But what you fight, you need. However, the basic self does not hide its brain dependency but happily counts on it.

And just like a magician’s tricks are laid bare, the more you watch them, the experiences of the brain are exposed as nothing, the more you follow them.

The special self does not relate to the present experience produced by the brain but how it envision it. Thus it feels disconnected.

You are in the brain’s domain when experiencing something because it produces all experiences. Therefore, since the brain loves you, the thoughts it makes do not trouble but soothe you when synced with the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TO FOLLOW THE BRAIN’S SCRIPT:
Whether you like the brain’s script, you are bound to follow it by the letter. However, you are free to perceive it as you fancy. But if you want to feel connected, your perception must relate to the script as it is and not as you reckon it should be. The latter makes you feel disconnected since you are out of sync with the brain’s script.

Despite being in sync or not, the brain gets what it wants, namely that even though you are nothing, you believe to be something, wherefore the brain seems to exist. Hence it rewards you with shots of happiness. Unfortunately, you do not notice it if you want everything to be in your way and time because then you are out of sync with the brain.

But maintaining a perception of being in control is frustrating. For example, suppose you strictly follow a diet instead of listening to the body’s signals. In that case, since the natural sense of being hungry is judged unnatural, you twist your craving for food into something aligned with your diet’s philosophy. But not being in sync with the present, you do not feel genuinely amused. Instead, you get mental satisfaction based on the diet’s promises of a better life.

The same happens if you avoid a natural and effortless perception of a movie you watch but twist it into something per your ideas of spirituality, for example. Hence you miss the entertainment the movie’s script was made to give you.

So why does almost nobody want to be entertained by the brain’s script? Mainly because they think they know better despite not knowing who they are. But fortunately, their mistake is their saviour.

When you do not repress or edit your reaction to being wrong but feel it undiminished, you can perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals your single-minded response is twofold. For example, since sadness is coupled with happiness, it is replaced with that. For less than a minute, happiness is all you feel. Then, sadness return. And going back and forth between feeling sad and happy, you become happy/sad. But not for long. Being in this teamwork of opposites, you stop feeling them specifically and start sensing their interaction: the duality flow.

Therefore, since you are in sync with the brain’s script of twofoldness, you feel at home. Read more about the perception it is what it is’ in ‘I know what it is’ vs ‘it is what it is’ vs ‘dunno what it is’ and the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Watching TV series, you do not have to do anything to be engaged in the action other than perceiving it by its plot. It is so entertained that you forget yourself. However, daily life is just as astonishing, when you accept to follow the brain’s script and perceive it as ‘it is what it is’ and not as it should be.

The brain’s script is neither logical, rational, or consistent. But when your perception remains in sync with it, you eventually feel as blow-out as after binge-watching a TV show, thus feeling free. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TO BE BLOWN OUT BY THE BRAIN:
Being in sync with the natural flow of thoughts from the brain can be compared to being in sync with the plot of a movie. It is easy because the film is full of hints about how to perceive it.

The director has added emotional music to manipulate you into correctly interpreting the movie. For example, since black – at least in the Western world – is associated with evil, the director expects you to interpret scenes with fast black cars, so you are in sync with the plot and therefore feel entertained. But suppose you doubt this meaning and try to construct a better one based on concepts unrelated to the film. In that case, you break up the story, wherefore you do not feel entertained but bored by the movie.

In other words, nothing feels entertaining if you think you know better than the director and keep imagining how the movie could have been if it was edited per socialism or another ism believed in making the world better. In that case, you only feel entertained by the specific parts of the movie perceived as aligned with your ism.

On the other hand, when you do not question the movie’s storyline but jump into the adventure as it is, you feel linked with the whole film – likewise, accepting the brain’s story of duality, thus being in sync, you feel connected.

In roleplay, you can become anyone you like. However, everyone is predefined by the gamemaster, so you act according to that. Likewise, in the game of duality. You are never your own but the brain’s, because it is the gamemaster.

Since one feels lonely when believing to have parted with the brain’s script, the special self always tries to convince itself it is part of something bigger. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TO BE ENTERTAINED OR NOT:
The brain is the sole director of a dream – also the experiences you when you believe to be awake. You have no say in that except how to perceive the experiences, thus how you want to feel about them.

If your perception of an experience results in feeling entertained, it is in sync with the brain. But if it results in feeling unjust, the perception is out of sync because the brain is impersonal – just like The Cloud governing a self-driving car never treats it personal but looks at the whole.

Not perceiving an experience as personal, thoughts and feelings regarding it are momentary. Thus to experience sorrow is just as entertaining as joy. That is how it is to be the basic self. But when an experience is perceived as personal, thoughts and feelings regarding it becomes sticky. So if not externally, then internally, the experience seems to drag on, wherefore you feel so depressed that you meditate or do something else to disassociate yourself from feeling wrong. That is how unpleasant it is to be a special self.

Being wrong is just as entertaining as being right when in sync with the brain’s script. Actually, right versus wrong is one of the many opposites that make up the script of duality.

No matter what way you go and why you reckon to do that, the reason is that the brain has told you to do it. Therefore, having a perception in sync with the brain’s playbook, obstacles along the way adds to the entertainment. But having made a perception where you are in charge, thus out of sync with the brain, the same obstacles add to the stress of having to know the way. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TO IGNORE THE BRAIN’S SCRIPT:
Should you want to take a break from the brain’s script of duality, all you need is to not be in sync with it. But not like the special self who revolts against it and therefore depends upon it. To be free of the script, you ignore it by not making a statement like the special self who says ‘I know what it is,’ nor like the basic self who declares ‘it is what it is’ but you gently say ‘dunno what it is.’ This perception does not ratify the brain’s experiences of you as someone in a world of duality.

Hence you are in a state of not-knowing from where you can welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. It automatically wipes out the experience of ever having been someone because it requires more than one to be someone. Read about the Enlightenment of that which is One in hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One.

But suppose you are not ready to undo the belief in being and having more than that which is One. In that case, you will return to the consciousness of being someone with the slate wiped clean. Thus you happily go on as the basic self until you feel so joyous that you cannot ask for more, wherefore you do not need to believe it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Read more about that in The after-effect of a state of not-knowing.

4.2 Control is the fear of not being good enough

Updated September 26, 2022

The brain makes all the experiences believed to be yours or others and stores the ones you consider to constitute what you and others are. Hence the appearance of you and the world as substantial is the brain and vice versa. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

YOU SHOULD ENJOY ALL THOUGHTS BECAUSE THEY ARE AS SWEET AS YOU
Even though the brain deceives you by making experiences that seem to establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world, it is not your enemy. On the contrary, the brain wants to make you happy. If that is not how you feel, you have most likely disassociated yourself from the brain’s experiences. Instead of perceiving them as they are, you perceive them as they should be per a specific philosophy that you fancy.

But since everything in this perception revolves around you knowing better than the brain, and since you do not know who you are, it is hard work to make it look like you, not the brain, knows the best. Thus you meditate or force your body into strange positions to cut off the brain, assuming that will free you from its perceived tyranny and make you realise who you are.

The brain renders a self in which it installs a consciousness so the self can perceive itself as someone in a tangible world outside itself via the experiences fabricated by the brain. Consequently, the brain is what and where you experience in being.

However, excluding the brain does not result in feeling whole but disconnected. On the other hand, if you include all thoughts, they do not seem to cause loss or abundance but completion because the thoughts from the brain constitute what and where you are made to be.

Trying to change that is like changing the colour of your hair. Though the new tone makes you look different, the original one remains underneath it. Still, more or less everybody believes that changing their look will make them different.

Control is the fear of not being good enough to be affirmed as someone in a world of something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

CONTROL IS THE FEAR OF NOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH
The wish to change ourselves often starts in early childhood. We realised that if we changed our appearance into something considered more lovable by our parents, we would get their attention, thus feeling loved. Read more about that here. Consequently, most concluded they could manipulate others into liking them by controlling themselves.

Several events can have led to this conclusion. Maybe your parents forced you to use the toilet before you were ready. To please them and be the child they wanted, you controlled your urination by tightening the muscles in the loin. However, the price of getting their ‘love’ was a damaged body. The premature constriction of the muscles blocked the natural flow in the biological system. Thus the communication between the body and the brain was disrupted.

Therefore, since the body was left on its own, it tried to fix the blockage in the loin by balancing it with a new issue in the shoulder, neck or jaw. Maybe all of them, or at least the jaw, because when it is reinforced in a forward position, it is easy to maintain the expression you imagine others want to see, thus living a conceptualised life.

But the body may have chosen to counteract the blockage in the loin with one in the feet so that many years after, they feel cold. Or it could have balanced the problem with stiffness in the hands, showing up much later as something you assume caused by using a computer.

And though you can diminish the new problems in the body via massage and acupuncture, for example, the relaxation will not last because the hardened loin needs the rigidity in the lower body to be balanced out with other problems.

Hence you will never feel the healing that the natural flow that a biological system adequately hooked up with the brain brings about. Instead, you feel held back by something you cannot find because you try to find it in the body and not in what has caused the blockage, namely the perception of yourself as inferior. In other words, if you do not manipulate others into loving you by controlling your body, the natural flow of the biological system is not disrupted by your meddling. Thus the brain can maintain a sound body.

You try to restrict your only friend, namely the brain, by dividing its duality pairs into separate distinctive elements, for example, good and evil, so you can suppress evil by meditating or projecting it onto others to appear only good, thus beyond the brain’s script of twofoldness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

IN THE DUALITY FLOW, YOU ARE FREE FROM BEING SOMEONE DEFINITIVE
A straightforward way to correct how you respond to yourself is to perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals it is twofold. So if your single-minded response was that you are wrong, you see it is interacting with being right. Therefore, since you are in the duality flow, you are not defined as someone specific, nor are those you felt you had to please. Hence they, as well as you, are seen as good enough.

Eventually, the duality flow will undo the belief in being someone. Thus there is nobody to misinterpret anything. However, this hack is about having a good time as someone while having the belief in being that undone. So we go on with the brain’s script. Read more about the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Not suppressing something, you are in sync with the brain because it loves you as you are. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE BRAIN’S SCRIPT IS FIXED, SO YOU CANNOT DAMAGE THE BODY
Since the brain’s script is as fixed as the earth’s motion around the sun, the same physical tensions in the loin would have occurred, whether or not you tried to adjust to your parents’ expectations to get their love. However, the pressure would not have turned into a psychosomatic problem if you had perceived yourself as good enough, thus not suppressing something in yourself by projecting it on a weak part of the body. Consequently, the tension in the loin would have been straightforward to deal with as a physical problem. Fortunately, it is never too late to correct your misperception of the past.

The above explanation of cause and effect is not entirely correct. Nothing adds up in a world where there seems to be more than one because there is no more than that which is one since it is formless, thus endless. That is what the explanations in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are meant to illustrate. Hence they only work when used to expose a world where there seems to be more than one is fantasy.

This explanation is also fictional, and so is the idea that somebody is making or getting it – just like nobody, in particular, is making a dream or having it because there is nothing in it. Consequently, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings is not a new philosophy with the answers to the world’s problems or why and how we appear to be there as separated beings. There is no answer to that or anything else because there is no more than that which is one, and it takes more than one to explain something.

Therefore, ultimately speaking, it does not matter if you are in sync with the brain’s script, thus happy, or perceive the script in a way, so you appear more exceptional than scripted, thus looking for happiness you never find because it comes from being in sync with the brain’s script.

Everything is always going your way. If it does not seem so, you are not going your way. That does not mean you are going the wrong way. It is not possible. But it is possible to perceive the way that is out of sync with your nature. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

That is why, in the context of the world where we appear to be, everything seems much more manageable when one’s perception is in sync with the brain’s script. Hardly any thoughts are needed for that, and as they compile themselves from the pool of thoughts the brain has made for this (read more about that here), there are no stray thoughts to disturb you. In contrast, it requires much effort to make a perception where you appear more special than the basic self the brain has created.

You must seek out specific thoughts to look special, and by doing so, they start to scamper around and fight each other, which feels stressful – especially since it affects your interpretation of yourself and the world. Hence the special self concludes that it is best to get rid of some or all thoughts, or at least slow them down via meditation or something else that supports the idea of being in control.

However, this enhances the problem. The special self perceives itself as the master and the brain its servant. And it is the other way around. So if the special self honours the brain for producing the experiences of being someone by perceiving them as they are and not as they should be, happiness comes all by itself. Actually, so much that the few thoughts required for having a perception in sync with the brain are unnoticed. In short, if we do not edit the perception the brain automatically generates of ourselves, we are in sync, thus rewarded with so much happiness that we feel loved and love everybody as ourselves (read more about that here).

APPENDIX:
Many try to solve the feeling of not being good enough by finding somebody who admires them. Others may clean the house, go shopping, eat, smoke, have sex, or whatever makes them forget they do not feel wanted. However, most try to resolve feeling inferior by making others wrong. But none of those methods works because feeling unwanted comes from how you think the world should respond to you and not how it does that.

The root of this misperception can be found by walking down memory lane. But it probably takes a long time, and you may miss it. Fortunately, the misperception can be corrected immediately by perceiving feeling inferior as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that takes the distinctness out of the feeling, it does not have a specific effect on you. Therefore, the next time you, by reflex, create an attitude to disguise you feel inferior, you laugh because ‘it is what it is.’

Being special and depressed, or basic and happy, or nobody and blissful

Updated October 4, 2022

The special self wants to make selected ones feel unique, so they depend on it to be appreciated.

The special self is always looking for errors in its personality to correct them, thus appearing in control. But the basic self does not consider itself in charge of anything. Instead, it sees itself as a servant of everything because it adjusts to the flow of thoughts coming from the brain, which does not know about personal preferences but what is in the best interest of the whole.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Thinking you are in control, you are under enormous pressure. You must always look for thoughts that can be used to compose a perception of your experiences to prove that you, not the brain, are in control.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You hit the buttons on the remote control to get specific channels on the TV. It is not difficult, so it does not establish you as essential. But if you imagine you are the master of buttons, you appear more important, although what is in the movie you may get is beyond your influence.

As you can see, being the special self is not about what you do but the thoughts concerning it. Especially thoughts in the category of master and servant – like when you think you master the remote control, your coffee machine, children or pets. Or if you have a boss that puts you down, but you still seem to be on top of it by thinking, you could do it much better.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always finds something about others that it judges as wrong. Hence they become the imperfect background for its perfection.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the special self perceives to fail, it takes on being secondary. Thus the failure does not seem to have been caused by itself but by somebody else.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When a ball is coming your way, it´s a natural reflex to respond and following such reflexes is pure fun.

When a ball comes your way, it is an automatic reflex to respond to it. Automatically following such reflexes is natural and invokes how easy it is to be the basic self. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Sometimes a doctor may check the function of a body by knocking on special points to see if the involuntary movements work. But everything you think that you do voluntarily is automatic. If you believe in being in control, you have worked hard to perceive the body’s activity as generated by you.

To fabricate this perception, you suppress your reaction to the reflexes that do not fit into your idea of calling the shots. Thus you become a person who seems to do everything by your own choice. And others appear to be doing things against or for you by their choice. However, keeping up this impression is hard because you always have to hide that the brain administers everything you do.

Therefore, not hiding that but gladly serving the brain, you are following your nature, thus feeling free.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self’s perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Therefore, since feeling the flow of happiness, it does not need to be or achieve something special to feel good. But the special self is out of sync with the flow, so it does not feel its happy vibe. Instead, it tries to create it by looking for special moments in the past to replicate in the present to feel special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If the special self discovers that others have interpreted something it did as wrong, it avoids feeling guilty by shouting, »Look what you made me do.«

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences the brain produces to make you feel like someone can, in many ways, be compared to the news that Facebook generates for you. Based on the info Facebook has gathered about you, it collects what its artificial intelligence predicts you wish to see, regardless it is fake or not. However, unlike Facebook, the brain has all your info, so the experiences you get from it are based on you. Thus what you experience is what you are. That cannot be altered – only your perception of it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain. But since it cannot manifest its fabrication, it has made a self that feels the experiences it produces, so it seems to confirm a world defined by time and space is real, which in return seems to prove the self is a substantial being in a tangible world. In other words, what and where you believe in being is a brain fantasy. Consequently, there is nothing real to confirm the brain’s existence, wherefore nothing is making the fantasy of you as someone in a world defined by time and space – just like nobody is making a dream and nobody is in it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to convince at least one person about how crucial it is, which it achieves by smothering someone with the kind of attention it senses, that is required to make that person feel chosen. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Again and again, the special self likes to show off as if it has invaluable insights from extraordinary experiences that can help others get better. However, it is as impossible as helping someone in a dream. Therefore, the special self pieces together an interpretation of its interaction with others that, in retrospect, establishes itself as someone who has helped them get better.

Though it may not succeed in manipulating others into believing this, it often succeeds in convincing at least one person by making that person feel so wanted and loved that it thinks it cannot live without the one making it feel that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to be part of something important, not to feel alone. Thus it checks all notifications on Facebook and makes sure to like what its friends write so that it will like it and be liked by them, and they all are confirmed to be together in a group of extraordinary people. That is, if you believe there is something in cyberspace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If somebody triggers an old feeling of rejection in the special self, it first interprets it as an attack. Next, it justifies feeling rejected by the attack. Therefore, since the feeling seems to originate in the attacker, the special self concludes the feeling does not come from itself. If the perceived attacker exposes this self-deception, the special self points out something from the past to make the attacker feel guilty. Thus the special self is off the hook and can rest assured that it is loved, and the attacker is not.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Undoing the belief in being someone special is like stepping into the unknown. And since life cannot be known, you find it there. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you justify your unpleasant emotions with something judged as flawed in the world, those feelings are buried in a mental drama of fairness. For example, when you feel angry, it is obscured by the sad story you keep telling about the world to establish you are unfairly treated by it. Hence feeling angry has been removed from your awareness and replaced by a mental concept of being mistreated. This spin also hides, you fear the world will get back at you for blaming it for your negative emotions.

However, this is too shameful to admit. So to save face when you feel attacked by the world, you repeat the story of being unfairly treated to prove you are innocent. But to uphold your innocence, you must continuously suppress feeling selfish, greed, anger and envy, which you do by changing the focus from yourself to others. You keep it at them by pointing out these attributes in them in a way you instinctively know they are ashamed of. You are very good at that, and your friends know it. Nevertheless, they do not expose you because they also look for someone to attack, so they feel off the hook. That is why they recognise it in you.

To hide that you and like-minded ones hate everybody, you meet in special groups where you hug and share in a collectively agreed way of being united. Yet, it is not feelings of love but the wish to hide they hate each other that connects them. Naturally, nobody wants to acknowledge this, least of all do they want to talk about it in the group because if you do not censor yourself to speak and act within the language of love established by the group, or its mentor, you are expelled. And then there is nowhere to go to find relief from your despair.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not appear in a physical world to learn something. Everything you encounter is made from empty space. The only purpose of your experiences, including those interpreted as spiritual and as you as someone, is to feel entertained by nothing. Read more about that here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To prevent the image of the special self from cracking, it is crucial not to feel one’s emotions. Therefore, since the special self suppresses them, it becomes so numb that it cannot feel anything. So instead, it invents stories about feelings that fit its self-perception. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love. Consequently, you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the perceived feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of expectations being met.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Nobody is unjustly treated in the brain’s script. It is all about being entertained by duality, which you are when perceiving your reaction to your experiences as it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, this makes you feel complete

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should you have conditioned yourself to feel relaxed when you hear a specific kind of music, you find yourself in a story where you know you are supposed to feel relaxed every time you hear this music. In other words, what you believe in feeling is a product of your story. And as most of what you believe in feeling rests on stories, you are hardly ever in touch with your emotions but with how you have conditioned yourself to respond to something. That suits the special self very well. It does not want to experience genuine feelings but how it is supposed to feel them when being what it imagines it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self likes to meet new people. However, not to get to know them but to answer their questions. That is a perfect opportunity to re-edit the story it has fabricated about itself to become more exciting. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you, in your part of the world, are supposed to feel disrespected when someone is more than 15 minutes late for a meeting, you can, in a rational way, prove to others that you are in the right when you claim to feel hurt. But since rationally explaining a feeling changes it into a mental concept, you do not feel hurt. Instead, you feel victorious because you convinced others you were right about being hurt.

However, the feeling of victory only lasts as long as others are willing to listen to your story of being unfairly treated. No worries. If you perceive the meaning you have assigned to your story as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing in it adds up to something specific. Hence the story cannot be used to justify being unfairly treated, thus not suppressing what you actually feel, which in the world of duality always is twofold. Therefore in sync with duality, you feel so fulfilled that you do not need the satisfaction of being in the right. Read more about made-up feelings here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The stories you make to hide what you feel sooner or later clash with the actual experiences of the world where you seem to be. Thus you feel very confused.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the past, the special self made a hateful story it uses for perceiving the present, so it seems to confirm its past judgment of others as evil. And since the past, therefore, appears to repeat itself, the special self can rest assured in its perception of itself as good and others as bad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The English language suits the special self because it is built upon the ‘I’ as primary and others as secondary. You do not talk with others but to them. And when you speak about friends and yourself, you always start by mentioning yourself.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self likes to hide that it is lonely by having others depend upon it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It takes so much time and effort to invent a special self from which selected experiences are eliminated or changed, so you appear to be absent of power strivings, selfishness, greed, anger, negative thoughts or whatever you assume to be politically incorrect. It feels restricting, whereas you feel free when not altering or rejecting something in your perception to shape your image into something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs and the special self excludes the apparently dark side of those in its perception of itself to appear as someone definitive, the power of duality is not expressed but suppressed. And even though the special self never feels it has enough energy, it does not correct its perception. It fears it will be devoured by the darkness it has excluded if it includes it.

It is right about being terminated. But only as someone definitive and not in the way it expects. The uncontrolled energy of suppressed feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath.* In this state of not-knowing,* there is no awareness of being somebody. Hence all that is left is the bliss of nothing from which the self returns to a world of duality with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since darkness and lightness are perceived as two sides of the same coin that interacts to define each other, it gets the power of the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing* does not reveal non-duality, but that a world of duality is nothing. The result of this revelation is not that you choose to return to non-duality because that requires more than one. Instead, you return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of duality as a basic self.

Being basic, you sooner or later feel so relaxed that you forget to choose, and since not-choosing does not require more than one, the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

NOTE: This article is part of hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

The basic self cannot be changed, but it can be perceived as special

Updated September 16, 2022

The multiplication of thoughts required to construct an image of you as an independent entails stress, thus a tired body. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE BASIC AND SPECIAL SELF PLUS THE ROGUE CONSCIOUSNESS:
You are effortlessly synced with the basic self when not suppressing feelings by holding back the breath or altering its natural rhythm via yoga, for example. And since very few thoughts are required to maintain the synchronisation, they do not seem disturbing but encouraging.

That is, until the consciousness, the brain has installed in the basic self to be aware of itself, decides it knows better than its maker, and plots to change the basic self into a special one. However, shaping and maintaining a special self requires a more complicated construction of thoughts than the simple construction accumulated by the brain to create and uphold the basic self.

Therefore, the rogue consciousness perceives an experience so scary that fear makes you hold back your breath long enough for thoughts to be imprisoned in the gap, from where they force their way out by multiplying themselves. Then, having escaped, they continue their frantic multiplication, which pleases the rogue consciousness because it needs lots of thoughts to make a special self come into being, supposedly free from the brain.

But in a world of duality, all thoughts come in pairs of opposing elements, such as right and wrong, to define each other. Therefore, since you cannot have one without the other, you are never only right but also wrong. However, the rogue consciousness does not want the elements in the duality pairs to collaborate because it wants to set up a self which is excluded from evil, thus only good.

To disconnect the opposing sides in the duality pairs into distinct elements, the rogue consciousness first imagines a judge determining which emotions are specifically good and bad. Then, an executioner punishes the bad ones by excluding them from the new self, so it looks uniquely good and has that feeling of being special. Read more about the below paragraph THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS.

When not interfering with the few thoughts, the brain keeps circulating for you to have a continuous experience of being a basic self, you feel together. But you feel alienated if you add thoughts to the construction of the basic self to appear more special. It is like building castles in the sky because you cannot change how the brain has programmed you. Nor is it necessary because if you do not try to correct the brain, it automatically makes sure you perceive yourself in sync with its basic setup. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But when good and bad are separated, they cannot define each other, as they do in a duality pair. Thus you do not get a genuine but conceptualised experience of good and bad. Nevertheless, that suits the rogue consciousness fine because, with emotions cut off, the special self can mentally decide what good and bad feel like, thus being the master

However, it is hard work to constantly suppress genuine feelings preventing you from using good and bad in a thought-up way – or twisting experiences into a collectively agreed concept of having a good time. Besides, the suppressed emotions mess up the natural flow of the breath, thus the stream of thoughts used to keep the body healthy, wherefore the body seems inflicted with psychosomatic illnesses. So although the special self probably appears as good as planned, it does not genuinely feel good.

On the other hand, the basic self feels as good as bad because it follows the brain’s script of duality, where everything comes in pairs with the opposing elements interacting with each other. Of course, this does not necessarily mean that the basic self has a perfect body, but its problems are not approached as psychological but physical issues. Thus the body knows how to deal with them unless the problems are genetically related.

Fortunately, the happiness of the basic self does not depend on appearance. Sometimes a weak body may even be helpful. For example, Alexius’s poor condition helps him slow down physically and speed up writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, you must always choose something to uphold the illusion of separation. Therefore, not choosing anything, the illusion falls apart. That might be easier to do if you stick to being the basic self because it houses so much happiness that sooner or later, you forget to choose. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS
You can compare the formlessness of oneness to one thought, which is pure peace. But peace is over when that thought is divided into two because they need to differ to appear divided. To achieve this separation, one thought as a separate entity, called a Person, looks at another thought called the World. And to uphold the illusion that there is more than one, the division goes on.

The thought called the World is divided into black and white aspects. And the thought called a Person is also divided into two, namely a Judge and an Executioner. Thus we have a Person who chooses between black and white experiences. And then a Judge who divides thoughts into right and wrong so the black experiences can be punished for being wrong by the Executioner.

When that is carried out, the Person feels good because now it is off the hook. Someone else is guilty of the mess that separation seems to entail. Read more about projections here. However, since this arrangement sets other divisions in motion, the relief is short-lived. So, again and again, the interaction of Person, WorldJudge and Executioner is used to make someone else look bad and yourself good.

Although this happens as an inner dialogue inside a Person, it is often projected onto something perceived outside of it. For example, what feels wrong inside the World of a Person is projected onto something perceived as evil in the World outside of a Person, such as immigrants, the deep state or communists. The Judge may be projected on a god, parent, boss, or lover. And perhaps society is seen as the Executioner.

That said, the world where we appear to be is not a construction of thoughts or anything else because oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing else than that which is One. However, in the context of the belief that there is more than that, Alexius makes up stories he assumes help realise that they, as everything else experienced, are fictitious because it takes more than one to be aware of something.

The special self keeps returning to Facebook or similar media, where messages and likes confirm its specialness. But, if not continually established as unique, it starts doubting itself and thus loses its sense of control, which it fears more than anything else. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

BEING IN SYNC WITH DUALITY OR NOT:
What you believe in being is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain into pairs of contrasting elements, such as happiness and sadness, to define each other. When in sync with the ongoing interaction of opposites, you do not want to separate happiness from sadness because the interaction makes you feel complete.

But you are not in sync with duality if negative thoughts are judged as wrong, thus excluded from the perception of yourself to appear solely positive. Without the awareness of negativity in yourself, there is nothing to define your positivity. Hence, nothing will turn you on – like you cannot turn on a TV without the negative pole in the electrical wire.

Being out of sync with duality occurs when the consciousness that the brain has installed in the self goes rogue and makes a special perception of the present moment where the elements in the duality pairs do not collaborate to define each other. Instead, they separate into individual aspects, so you can decide to only feel love for someone and hate for another, for example.

However, since love is not defined by hatred anymore, you do not feel genuine love but a speculative version of it. The same applies to hate. And since you believe your single-minded notions are real, you clash with the world because it consists of duality pairs. You can correct that by going with the interaction of love and hate. This you do by perceiving your single-minded notion of either love or hate as ‘it is what it is’ because this reveals love is in hate and vice versa. But instead of accepting that, you probably accuse the brain of ruining love. But you are a product of the brain (read more about that here), so your disapproval is a condemnation of yourself.

When the brain wants you to run, it uses the biological system to signal the body. It starts running regardless you are a basic or special self. The basic self, as always, feels entertained by following the brain’s commands. But the special self loathes the brain and its simple ideas of entertainment and thinks it knows better. But all its totalitarian ideas are restricting, thus not entertaining. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TEMPTED TO BECOME SPECIAL:
When the consciousness of the basic self goes rogue, it responds like a spell checker to the calm stream of thoughts coming from the brain. It automatically interprets it so the self, which initially was made and administered by the brain, seems self-made, thus independent of the brain.

But since the rogue consciousness interpretations are single-minded, thus out of sync with duality, thoughts do not feel at home. Therefore, they multiply and move about so rapidly that the calm stream of thoughts from the brain becomes a wild one full of ideas for getting more.

At first, this turbulence seems scary to the basic self, but the rogue consciousness convinces it that it is for the best because now there are so many thoughts that you have endless possibilities. Besides, when you become special, you are in control so that you can arrange things your way.

Therefore, most persons gladly welcome the corrections the rogue consciousness does to transform them into a unique self with unlimited ways of realising themselves, contrary to the basic self, limited by the brain, that it blindly follows.

But the rogue consciousness did not tell you that you must spend many years in school learning to make order out of this mess by labelling everything so you can follow predefined ways of being unique.

Both the basic and the special self is a construction of thoughts. But whereas the basic self is simple, the special self is a complicated construction made to sow discord by insisting on being special. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In other words, appearing independent and special is complicated and exhausting, whereas not being someone specific but relative to the brain’s script is uncomplicated and vitalising. Therefore, if you want to have a good time while appearing as someone in a world of duality, use one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks to enter a state of not-knowing. It wipes the slate clean of all misperceptions, thus restoring the basic self. Since it is relative to the brain, it is in sync with its experiences as they are and not as they could be if you were a special self following a specific philosophy

Therefore, as the basic self, you have fun going with the duality flow, contrary to the special self, which is imprisoned by specific concepts of being positive or whatnot. Read more about that here. That said, once having been established as a special self, you probably keep going back and forth between that and the basic self until you do not need to feel something specific to feel happy because that is impossible as the basic self. It only knows the fullness of twofoldness.

Should you not want to play the game of duality, thus having the belief in it undone, it is not necessary to be the basic self. Still, it is much easier because, not being special, suddenly you forget to remember what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One waits for. Read more about that here.

PS: Since you are bound to follow the brain’s commands physically, your life progresses the same whether you are the basic or special self. It is only mentally that it seems different.

NT1 Inclusiveness is emptiness – and that is pure bliss [draft]

Suppose you do not keep the opposite sides of a contrast – for example winner and loser – away from each other by projecting one of them onto somebody else. In that case, there is no space to separate them. Thus nobody can be defined as a winner or loser. Selfie © Alexius Jorgensen.

Once upon a time, Alexius assumed that if he justified feeling annoyed with the world outside of him, his irritation would disappear and be replaced by relaxation.

But it was pretty stressful to always be on the lookout for something to blame for his irritability so that it did not seem to be in him but something outside him. See also the article Exclusiveness is incompleteness, and inclusiveness is completeness about his experiences of this before he was rescued by a helicopter in the rainforest.

Fortunately, he recognised that if he included irritation by being it to such an extent that there was nothing else, there was not something to contrast it. Therefore, since the included cannot be categorised, it cannot be experienced as something specific. And since that means irritation cannot define relaxation, they both have turned into nothing. In short, the apparent meaning of the opposing elements in a contrast is cancelled out when one of them is fully included. This also applies to how you believe they define you.

To fully include something does not mean you laboriously have to make sure every bit of it is included, but that there is a willingness to be nothing but what you include. In other words, it is not about perfection but willingness. Should the latter be lukewarm, you are still fully inclusive if you are willing to include being irresolute.

Inclusiveness has nothing to do with acceptance or forgiveness because inclusion leaves nothing to accept or forgive. Neither does it have anything to do with embracing or owning your feelings, as that enhances the belief in being someone definitive instead of undoing it. Inclusion is the absence of being someone definitive, which is the bliss of nothing.

In some ways, inclusion can be compared to what happens when we experience something red outside us. Simultaneously, the brain generates its complementary colour cyan to cancel out the contrasting colours and replace them with a neutral grey inside us. Since this happens so fast and most only see the world they know, they do not notice red is complemented with cyan. Least of all, do they notice that neutral grey has replaced the complementary colours inside of them. Instead, they hold onto the experience of red as a singular colour in a world outside them.

This image illustrates how the complementary colours of the RGB colour model’s primary hues turn into neutral grey when they are equally combined. The same applies to the complementary colour that emerges by mixing the primary ones. It also applies to the RYB and CMYK colour modes. Plus complimentary feelings, such as love and hate. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Grey is always the result of combining complementary colours, as illustrated in the image with the square colours. And that cyan is the complementary colour of red, you see if you stare at red for a sustained time – thirty seconds to a minute – and then quickly look at a white surface. There you see the complementary colour of red, which, depending on the colour model you have conditioned yourself to obey, is cyan or green.

In a world defined by time and space, the colours we believe to see are based on the RYB colour model, where the primary colours are red, yellow and blue. These colours are subtracted from the colours of light, where the primary ones are red, green and blue (RGB). Adding the primary colours of the world (RYB) results in black, and so do the primary colours in the colour wheel of professional printing (CMYK). On the other hand, adding the primary colours of light results in white – see the middle RGB colour model above. Television and computers use the colours of light, the RGB model. Depending on your conditioning, you use either the RYB or RGB model to perceive the complementary colour to red, for example. As you can see in the illustration, it is green in the RYB model and cyan in the RGB model. Most people use the RYB model, where black and not white unites is the sum of all the colours in the model. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Read about the colour models in the picture’s caption with round colours. For more comparisons with science-related findings, see the article Without contrasts, nothing seems to hide non-duality. The info about colours is based on Alexius’s research when he wrote a book about colour theory for a Danish Marketing school many years ago.

But let us return to our story about irritation. When included, the apparent difference between irritation and relaxation is not perceived to make a difference. Since this state of neutrality or indifference rubs off on other contrasts, they become neutral, wherefore there is nothing to define you as someone definitive.

In this state of not-knowing, you may get glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, such as ethereal light, celestial music, intangible sensibility or taste. Read The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them if you want to learn how to see, hear, feel or taste glimpses of Enlightenment.

It is not before a state of not-knowing is over that you, via vague memories, become aware of having been in the bliss of nothing. However, this is not the same as the Enlightenment of that which is One because it takes more than one to be blissful. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When the internet is down, the thoughts about what is possible to accomplish in cyberspace fade out – so does the image of what you appear to be there.

This is a bit similar to a state of not-knowing, where thoughts that seem to manifest you as someone definitive are forgotten, wherefore there is nobody to attribute an experience with a specific meaning. That is the bliss of nothing.

But there is not someone to know this before a state of not-knowing is over, and the sweet memories of it reminds you of the bliss that comes from not believing to be definitive.

As already said, cancelling out the difference between the opposite sides of one contrast – anyone will do – is enough to bring you into a state of not knowing. But since there are many contrasts, this state ends when you again feel disturbed by the experience of something you compulsively categorise as a specific feeling, such as hate, which you, out of habit, exclude by justifying it with the ways of the world.

However, if you choose to include hatred, you are back in a state of not-knowing. Hate is included in the same way as irritation. So when you are nothing but hatred, there is not something else and therefore no love to define what you are. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

Instead of cancelling out the apparent difference between the opposite sides of various contrasts by including them one after the other, you can speed up the undoing of the belief in being someone definitive by including fundamental contrasts like within and without, past and future, giving and receiving, high and low plus the most basic: expansion and contraction.

Since many contrasts are a variation of those, including them incorporate their sub-contrasts. Since this means the experience of being someone definitive falls apart, nobody can be bothered about what and where you appear to be. That is a state of not-knowing.

By not excluding but fully including your feeling of worthlessness, you are nothing but that. Therefore, since there is no contrast to define you as worthless, you cannot be defined, thus not being limited by time and space. Hence you are in a state of not-knowing, which is pure bliss. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In case you prefer going straight to a state of not-knowing without having to deal with contrasts, you include all thoughts and feelings popping up in this very moment, whether they appear positive or negative, associated with the past or whatnot. That is not similar to the concept of living in the now, an edited version of a moment where thoughts and feelings involving the past or the future have been excluded.

Being in a state of not-knowing does not mean you do not appear to be someone in a world defined by time and space, but nobody is worried about it. Hence thoughts and feelings are not considered tools for manifesting you as someone definitive but simply for navigating a world defined by time and space. Thus, pain may be used to prevent you from walking on a broken leg and fear of stepping out in front of a car.

In this context, pain does not cause someone to suffer. Neither does fear frighten anyone because when you do not use thoughts and feelings to establish being someone definitive, they are not experienced to result in anything specific.

In other words, thoughts and feelings do not appear to have any effect on you or the world perceived to be outside of you, nor do they seem to have been caused by you or anything else when they are not excluded, thus included, since that renders them non-definable.

Trying to understand inclusiveness and categorise when, why or how long you are in a state of not-knowing, before you return to the conscious expereience of being someone defined time and space again, complicate things. To be inclusive is simply to not be exclusive, and as that results in a state of not-knowing, you will not get there through understanding.

Since the experience of you as someone substantial in a tangible world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts, it falls apart when inclusion undoes the perceived separation of thoughts. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But a state of not knowing will not last very long if the excitement of being someone definitive in a world defined by time and space seems more attractive than the bliss arising from the emptiness of not-knowing. In that case, you probably enjoy the bodily relaxation induced by not believing to be someone definitive. Therefore, since you are in the happiness of something and not the bliss of nothing, you have left a state of not-knowing. Perhaps, you simply leave the state by twisting its nothingness into an experience of something definable, such as unconditional love, so you appear to be someone definitive experiencing something specific in a world defined by time and space.

Neither will a state of not-knowing last if you do not return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive because after 20 minutes, 45 at most, without someone to acknowledge separation, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. And it erases all experiences.

Simply put, as long as you appear to be in a world defined by time and space, a state of not-knowing is on and off. And it is more off than on because if the experience of time and space is not regularly repeated, there does not seem to be something substantial to disguise, there never was or will be anything but the formlessness of oneness. That means everything you believe to be is gone, so if you want to go on thinking you are someone definitive, you cannot stay too long at a time in a state of not-knowing. Fortunately, the after-effect of just a split second in a state of not-knowing can last for years. However, this hack does not explore a state of not-knowing, after all, it is about not-knowing. But you can read more about it in HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss, especially in the articles A state of not-knowing, how to get there and The after-effect of a state of not-knowing.

Multitasking or defocussing facilitates a state of not-knowing. But this state can also arise from being deeply involved in something when it is not carried out per a special philosophy or an attempt to escape something else. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If boxes like this, in the articles, seem disturbing regarding being focused and centred, you have gotten it right. They are meant to do that. To be in a state of not-knowing, you must forget about being centred, balanced and focused because those concepts are deeply founded in labelling experiences, thus separating them.

Fortunately multitasking takes care of this. It distracts the brain from focusing so that it becomes difficult to categorise an experience as different from another. Applying The taste of Oneness as desribe in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them helps you defocus.
