Life has no secrets

Life has no secrets. It is impossible because it is that which is one, and it takes more than one to hide anything. So why do people look for the meaning of life? The answer lies in the previous sentence. Life is that which is One, so if you believe in being in a world where there seems to be more than one, you are without life. In other words, even though the oneness of life makes it possible to experience a world where there seems to be more than one, it is not there – just like a physical body is not in a dream, regardless of being the host.

Some assume The Word of God is something written in a book like The New Testament, although nothing in it indicates that. Actually, The Word of God can neither be written or spoken. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

»In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.

Unfortunately most of those reading the New Testament reckon that the book is The Word of God. But as god is that which is One and it takes more than one to write or read, the New Testament has nothing to do with The Word of God.

However, an echo of life can be heard and felt in a world where there seems to be more than one. Christianity calls it The Word of God, and Eastern religions often symbolise it with the words Aum and Sohang. You could say that the oneness of life sends out an echo of itself to call you home. The echo does not reveal oneness but what obscures it, namely the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one. That said, it is, of course, a metaphor that oneness is calling you home because you never left it since it is formless, thus endless,

Nevertheless, this article is written within the context of the belief that it is possible to be and have more than one. Within this context, hearing or feeling the echo of oneness is a call to go home. However, the echo has no beginning and end, so it is not a word that can be written or spoken. Nevertheless, it is very easy to hear and feel it.

No chanting or reading in scriptures is necessary to hear or feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. It comes to you automatically when you do not focus or concentrate on something specific, thus not someone definitive but the unpronounceable vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. THE VIBRATION THAT AUM, SOHANG OR THE WORD OF GOD SYMBOLISES IS …
… not a secret. Yet it appears hidden if you search for an elitist understanding rather than hearing or feeling the vibration, which can be heard or felt whenever you do not focus on hearing or feeling something specific.

When you hear or feel the unpronounceable echo of oneness, the sense of being someone definitive disappears. Thus there is nothing to transform.

For ages, people have been chanting Aum and Sohang or speculating about the meaning of The Word of God, assuming their secret would miraculously be revealed if they kept trying. But oneness does not make miracles or reveal anything because it takes more than one to do anything.

However, it only takes one chant of Aum or Sohang to hear or feel the echo of oneness, provided you do not look for peak experiences of an almighty god, love or something mysterious and sensational that can be mentally explained.

TO TUNE IN TO THE ECHO OF ONENESS
… you say AU very slowly, whereafter M almost hangs in the air as a whispering sound that turns into a gentle humming, undoing the definition of you as someone who is somewhere specific. That is the echo of oneness. If you feel like smiling, you got it.

This is the Hindi symbol of ´sohang´– grabbed on the web. <i>The graphic is grabbed from the web</i>.

The Hindi symbol of Sohang is grabbed from the web.

You can also get in touch with the distant humming of oneness by saying sohang – eventually combined with listening to the sound from the breath. You say SO within you when breathing in. Then, after a tiny break, you say HANG when breathing out. The SO is not essential except for tuning in. The same applies to the first part of HANG. After saying SO-HA(N), you remain on (A)NG at the end of breathing out. When it fades out, you hear the humming, the echo of oneness, in the silence.

Another way to hear the echo of oneness is to stop focusing on any sound in particular until you cannot distinguish the sounds you hear. Hence they turn into one sound, namely the echo of oneness.

You do not have to sit in a particular posture, repeat a mantra, chant, pray, wear unique clothes or be in a specific place with special people to hear the echo of oneness. Neither does there have to be stillness inside or outside of you. All you have to do is be devoted to what you do.

One of the first times Alexius sensed the humming from the edge of the universe, he was busy handing out flyers on a pedestrian street. He was so devoted to it that the noise of the road became a distant sound fusing into a humming, which, although remote, cancelled out the feeling of being there. It was like the sum of all feelings turned into a transparent one.

KNOWING IT IS THERE, IT IS EASIER TO CONNECT
When Alexius was a child, he liked the music from a radio station on a frequency between two noisy stations. But as he knew of its existence and where to look, he succeeded in tuning into it with much determination and the finest subtlety.

Likewise, since you now know it is possible to get the humming of oneness from the edge of the universe regardless of the world’s noise, you can tune into it through devotion to your present activity or via Aum or Sohang. If there appears to be too much noise in the head, join it until it fuses into one sound.

TO FEEL THE ECHO OF ONENESS
Apart from hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you can also feel it – especially if you are more emotional than audio-minded. Just do the same as above but put more weight into feeling it. The feeling of the primordial vibration can be likened to sensing your body purring like a cat, or like it trembles of fear but without fearing anything, or shaking of coldness but more lightly and not feeling cold, or feeling the bubbling effect in the body from quickly drinking the foam of Coca-Cola.*

When the feeling gets more intense, it may feel like you are the vibration from an earthquake or a giant laundry machine on the spin cycle. It is felt in the body and outside as if there is no transition between the body and the appearances outside it. If you do not panic but go with its flow, you forget about the body and anything outside of it, so no memory seems to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely, the formlessness of oneness.

However, since this article is not about the formlessness of oneness but something that can be experienced, we continue our talk about the primordial vibration from the edge of the universe. Feeling or hearing it is the same – like two sides of the same coin. Nevertheless, it is not advisable to do that simultaneously. Instead, do it one at a time.

Alexius is more into hearing than feeling something, so it took him a long time to feel the echo of oneness. When he finally did – after several years – it was so intense that the belief in being someone specific was momentarily undone. Thus the echo of oneness had brought him into the Enlightenment of that which is One, where you do not feel anything since that requires more than one. Read about that in Forgetting the world of the outward-facing senses.

Many may already have heard or felt the echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. Still, as they are biassed towards something mysterious and sensational, they do not pay attention to the quiet humming that constantly is there because it is the basis for the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Some people complain that they hear their neighbour vacuuming when they meditate. But most likely, the neighbour is asleep. And it is not the sound of a vacuum cleaner they hear but the distant humming from the edge of the universe that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises. Being aware of the vibration can also be compared to hearing the distant sound of the air conditioning in an airport, a wave at the shore that never stops going up, or the sound from the edge of breathing in or out.

But since most look for an exceptional experience, they brush off something so simple as the gentle humming from the edge of the universe.

REMEMBERING YOUR HOME
When you are already familiar with the humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you do not always tune into it if you still want to appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. But you may tune into it once in a while to ensure you have not forgotten the key to the formlessness of oneness – just like you sometimes check your pocket to hear or feel if the key to your home is there.

ALEXIUS AND THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The above is Alexius’ way of communicating, how you can hear and feel the echo of oneness. Using Aum or Sohang as a stepping stone is not a new idea. But so far, it has mainly been promoted in mysterious ways by people who do not hear or feel it themselves but hope that a miracle will happen if they repeat those words repeatedly. However, looking for that, they miss the gentle humming coming from the edge of the universe.

But it was not through the words Aum or Sohang that Alexius started to hear or feel the humming they symbolise. Since his teenage years, he has been used to being ‘lifted’ by this humming – for example, while watching a movie, walking, or sitting in a park. And so, when he was about 40 years old, it suddenly dawned on him that this is what people try to reach when chanting Aum or Sohang.

However, it is not about reaching but tuning in. When Alexius can do it, so can you because even though you may appear different from him, what makes it possible for the two of you to experience that you are different is the same, namely, the echo of oneness.

*) This is not meant as a recommendation of Coca-Cola. Alexius only tried it once in his childhood.

Alexius in Wonderland

Updated April 7, 2023

Those who hear or feel the humming echoing oneness far away cannot use it to improve themselves or the world. But they can be used by it as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely the formlessness of oneness. That does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. Nor does it mean they will cease to exist because they have never existed because there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which is One is real, it is impossible to be in a world where there is more than one. And yet, we appear to be there. However, one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One does not believe but pretends to be there, like when playing a computer game. That is why Alexius’ description below of the world standing still does not reflect reality but how Alexius experiences pretending to be where he is not. The same applies to listening to the echo of oneness or having other glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE WORLD STOOD STILL
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window and saw everything covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned him white while Donovan’s Jennifer Juniper was playing in the background.

He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. The air, he perceived as so thin that there was no space between anything. And although he noticed the music from his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of oneness.

Much later, on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and sometime later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around him, it was like there was no movement and no people. He did not know what was happening, nor did he try to figure it out because you do not need more when you hear the echo of oneness.

After being accustomed to hearing the echo of oneness, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that many people do not hear it because they expect those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding to get, nor any need for it when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. See Life has no secrets, if you want to learn how to do that.

Alexius never do anything so-called spiritual, such as meditation. But in the mornings, he goes for a long walk from where he often returns home after enjoying the echo of oneness here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE PRIMORDIAL VIBRATION
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes impressive sounds. But you do not sense those sounds when reading the word unless you have heard them before.

That is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. These words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But they will not remind you of the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, nor will the subtle sound you can hear from a computer when you are close to it.

The distant humming of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one like an echo. It is the engine of it but not in the sense that it produces it. That is impossible because it echoes that which has no beginning and end, so it cannot create anything specific. Still, its energy is used to uphold the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one, even though it is not in that fantasy – just like the dreamer’s energy makes it possible to have a dream but not to manifest the dreamer in the dream.

The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to oneness.

Therefore, the echo of oneness is not for you if you dream about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief. This primordial vibration knows nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is not something to experience, thus nothing that seems to hide the formlessness of oneness.

Having glimpses of Enlightenment is like having an orgasm because you momentarily forget the body. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING OR NOT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it. In this case, hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises. You hear it when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.

But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Suppose you stop perceiving one of these aspects as something of several elements. In that case, there is no separation to establish you as somebody definitive. Hence the Enlightenment of that which is One set in beyond the senses (see Duality Hack #11 Going without distance to non-duality).

It is fun exploring the world of the outward-facing senses when you know it is make-believe. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy it? There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses.

If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through glasses of love. And since it is all make-believe, you may as well pretend to be in wonderland. See Duality Hack #2 Pretending to be twofold undoes duality. Especially if you do it with the duality flow because, in that case, your wonderland is contrasted by sorrow, so you feel wonderful when you are sad. See hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A TIMELESS JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with. Thus a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and a rapidly spiralling bright light outside it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.

However, the black hole has no end, so you do not reach oneness. No problem, there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. So you never left it to experience a world where there seems to be more than one.

The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them

Updated June 26, 2023

The echo of that which is one, which often is symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God and which comes from the edge of the universe can be heard or felt right now via the inner senses, because they are not limited by time and space.

The echo of that which is One is often symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. It comes from the edge of the universe, but since the inward-facing senses are not limited by time and space, via them, it takes no time to hear or feel the echo of oneness.

None of the facets of the Enlightenment of that which is One – lucid light, transparent feelings, ethereal tunes or immortal sweetness – can be experienced because it requires more than one to be conscious of something. Therefore, you are wrong if you think you have felt, seen, heard, or tasted the Enlightenment of that which is One. You have had glimpses of it. They are samples you experience via the inward-facing senses while still in the world of the outward-facing senses.

In other words, contrary to the Enlightenment of that which is One, having glimpses of it is not beyond the senses. This article is about how to experience these samples with the inward-facing senses while still in the world of the outward senses.

The purpose of the glimpses is to undo the belief in more than one gradually – or immediately if not having separate flashes, but one light, sound, feeling or taste. That said, you cannot have that because you are in the Enlightenment of that which is One which cannot be experienced, as it takes more than one to be conscious of something. Please beware, the four aspects do not mix, and you do not have to get to know them all to undo the belief in more than One. One is enough.

However, the ways described to do this will not work if you look forward to being or having more. Nevertheless, you do not have to restrain yourself from getting more sex or anything else as long as you perceive your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ See hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The more you ignore the world defined by time and space, produced by the outward-facing senses, the more a world not limited by time and space is experienced by the inward-facing senses. Without time and space, it takes no time to go to the edge of the universe (read more about that here), where the echo of oneness has been used to create the fantasy world of time and space, which seems genuine until you feel or hear this primordial vibration, often symbolised by Aum, Sohang or The Word of God.

This is the Hindi symbol of ´sohang´ – grabbed from the web

The Hindi symbol of Sohang.

»With every exhalation the soul recites ‘Hang’ and with every inhalation it recites ‘So’. Thus every soul counts the mantra of Sohang (So plus Hang) twenty-one thousand and six-hundred times every day and night.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 84.

In Eastern religions the echo of oneness is symbolised by the word ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ and in the New Testament by ‘The Word of God’: »In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.

One who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One perceives ‘The Word’ in the above quote as a metaphor for the unpronounceable vibration you can feel or hear when not totally focused on the world of the outward-facing senses. But the unenlightened speculates about what exact words this qoute hints at, even though there is not a single verse in the Bible referring to ‘The Word of God’, as something that is written or can be spoken.

The vibration that AUM or Sohang symbolizes comes from the edge of the universe, which is only far away if you let yourself be deceived by a world defined by linear time as experienced through the outer senses.

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One come from a black hole at the edge of the universe. However, this is not far away when you ignore the outward-facing senses and their world defined by time and space but instead go with the inward-facing ones because they are not ruled by time and space. Thus you can feel, see, hear, or taste the glimpses regardless of where you appear in the world of the outward-facing senses.

A way to ignore the outward-facing senses so you can feel or hear the echo of oneness with the inward-facing senses is not to be exclusive but inclusive. When you include all that you feel or hear – or are willing to do that – the sum of it is felt or heard by the inward-facing senses. It feels or sounds like the humming of nothing and everything. And it is like being both in the world of the outward and inward-facing senses. Read about inclusiveness vs exclusiveness in hack #4 Inclusiveness frees you from duality.

You can also use the word Aum or Sohang as a launching pad for feeling or hearing the humming from the edge of the universe. Read the article Life has no secrets to learn how to do that without spending years meditating.

READ ABOUT THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES:

When your eyes become single, there is no separation to hide the enlightenment of that which is one. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

W

THE THIRD EYE
Seeing glimpses of oneness is done via the inward-facing sense, often called the third eye, a single ‘eye’ between the two eyes above the eyebrows.

»The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.« Matt 6:22, King James Bible. This makes much sense to one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One but obviously not to the unenlightened, because in the new international version of the New Testament this sentence has been changed to: »The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.«

The enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome by completely ignoring the senses. First time this happened for Alexius was when he returned home totally exhausted after a long nights work of taxi driving and simply was too tired to focus.

In other words, to be offbeat, exhausted, confused or maybe even drunk is a way to forget to sense the world, thus nothing to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. Actually, anything that is not part of a scheme to fabricate images defined by time and space will do.

If that includes drugs Alexius does not know, because he has not experienced them. Yet he can say from looking at others taking drugs, that it seems more about expanding the consciousness of a world where there seems to be more than one than undoing it.

»Direct your eyes toward the middle of the eyebrows and meditate upon your own self. It is Shambhavi Mudra, the most secret practice of all the Tantra scriptures.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 59.

The positioning of the body, while activating the third eye, does not matter.

The positioning of the body, while activating the third eye, does not matter, as long as the body does not bother you.

Practically speaking you can turn off the visual outward-facing sense and open the third eye by closing the eyes and lightly, without any concentration, hold a finger on the third eye. You can do it anywhere in any position. However, it is best to do in a dark room, so you do not think the revelation of light comes from the world of the outward-facing senses.

If something like this is dechiffered into different colors and forms, you will have glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one, but if you do not judge any colors or forms to be different from each other the apparent differences will explode into one bright light.

If having a vision like this and it is deciphered into an experience of different colours and shapes around a centre, it is a glimpse of ‘the Enlightenment of that which is One.’ But if you do not judge the apparent different colours and forms to make a difference or to come from somewhere specific, one bright and colourless light, that seems to explode from a gap in nowhere wipes out all thoughts collected to shape you as somebody so that nobody gracefully falls into the formlessness of oneness.

Since the eyes always looks for the greatest contrast of light, your closed eyes automatically search the darkness until they move inwards and upwards towards the third eye from where they settle at a lightshow radiating at such speed that its colours hardly is perceived to differ.

»Touching eyeballs as a feather, lightness between them opens into the heart and there permeates the cosmos.« Sochanda Tantra, stanza 13.

If your eyes do not automatically move inwards and upwards into the area of the inward-facing senses above the eyebrows, you may help them by gently pressing the thumb and middle finger on the outer corner of the eyeballs and the middle finger on the third eye.

However, this is not commendable, since even the slightest effort requires focus, and it is not focus but defocus that bids welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or its glimpses. Furthermore this may give you the impression that certain physical postures can open the third eye.

None of the inward-facing senses are reached via a specific posture or way of thinking. However, deactivating the outward-facing senses can be achieved in this way, so if you find a technique that seems helpful regarding this by all means go for it. But the fastest way to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to not know what and where you are.

A way to to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to use an eye massager such as RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression. Besides from turning off the outward-facing sense of seeing, the heat soften the eyes. And when they are relaxed, they do not focus. Hence they automatatically turn inwards and upwards to merge into the third eye.

»… and there shall be no light there, and they need no candle there, neither the light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light.« Rev. 22:5

The thought construction that seems to keep you together as someone tangible is left at the edge of a black hole.

The thought construction that seems to keep you together as someone tangible must be left at the edge of a black hole so that there is nothing to gently fall into the formlessness of oneness.

Consequently, you have glimpses of Enlightenmen. And if, metaphorically, your eyes become soft enough the glimpses merge into one bright white light, namely the Enlightenment of that which is One. It extracts all thoughts stored to make you appear as someone definitive, and leave them at the edge of what may look like a black hole, so there is nobody to experience the nothingness of you gently falling into the formlessness of oneness.

You can read more about a black hole in the article The ins and outs of a black hole.

Enlightenment is not an out-of-the-body experience as it is not an experience, but its preliminary stage of bliss and compassion, which is connected to the world via the pineal gland, is an experience that is often perceived to be out-of-the-body.

The enlightenment of that which is one is not an out-of-body experience. It is not an experience at all. But its preliminary stages of bliss and compassion, which in the world probably is connected with the pineal gland, is something that may be felt as an out-of-body experience.

However, most are afraid of loosing their identity, so they settle for glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is like a blissful out-of-body experience – presumably linked to the pineal gland which appears to foster states like that.

If you are not tempted to stop at this bliss, but to go where someone definitive cannot go, namely into the Enlightenment of that which i One, it is not an out-of-body experience. On the contrary, there is no experience at all, nor consciousness, because to be awate of something requires more than one.

If you want to leave the Enlightenment of that which is One and be reshaped as someone definitive, you must recollect the thoughts, that was left at the edge of a black hole to enter it as nobody.

Returning from the Enlightenment of that which is One to a world where there seems to be more than one, you cannot know, you have been at the other side of a black hole, because you were not there and there is no other side, since there is no more than that which is one. In other words, the person you appear to be is not Enlightened. Yet, due to vague memories of oneness, you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It is not possible though for somebody else to know this. You will hardly grasp it yourself. But for sure you grasp, that a world where there seems to be more than one is not real.

ac1d3bc0-5bae-4dac-921e-8c1c4d9f64e1ETHEREAL TUNES
The airy music you can experience with the inward-facing senses is full of ethereal harmonies, probably floating out of a black hole at the edge of the universe.

»I heard a sound from heaven like the sound of cascading waters and like the rumbling of loud thunder. The sound I heard was also like harpists playing on their harps.« Revelation 14:2, Holman Christian Standard Bible.

Being used to take a ride in the world of the inward-facing senses, that opens up when the outward-facing senses are not fully activated to experience a world defined by time and space, you sense the first sentence of this quote refers to ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God,’ and that the second one to ethereal music.

»At midnight when not a single sound is heard, close your ears with both hands and do Purak Pranayama. Listen to the sounds in your right ear which are very pleasant. The first sound that you will hear is of a pine bird, the second of a flute, third of a cloud, fourth of a dragon bee, the fifth of a ringing bell and then of a gong of metal. Sounds of trumpet, drum etc. are also heard.

Except for having scim read The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita Alexius have not read religious scripts. Therefore, most of the words in the quote from Gherand Samhita are meaningless to him. But since he hears celestial music, it is easy to see the essence of the quote is the bliss of listening to ethereal harmonies. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Besides these, many other sounds are heard if it is practiced daily. These sounds are Anahata (unproduced) and come on their own accord. Nada is related to light. Light is related to mind, so mind gets itself merged in a sound which is the seat of the Lord. Therefore, practice of Bhramari gives Siddhi of Samadhi (i.e., makes Samadhi possible).

Mind gets eightfold more pleasure in the act of meditation than Japa (repeating God’s name), eightfold more interest in Tapas (penance) than the meditation, and eightfold more interest in music or sound than the Tapas. There is nothing greater than music.« Gherand Samhita, stanzas 77-81. Besides for the word ‘Nada’ meaning music Alexius does not know the meaning of the Hindi words in this quote, but hearing celestial music himself – though not so bombastic as described in this quote – he gets the overall meaning of it.

Using noise-cancelling headphones is a great way to close off the outward-facing sense of hearing. Alexius prefers in-ear headphones, though, as they can also be used when going to bed.

A practical way to stop hearing the world of the outward-fencing senses and listen to the music of the inward-fencing ones is to put both thumbs in your ears or use noise-cancelling headphones or in-ear headphones. Then without focusing or trying to define anything, be nothing but the ethereal music coming to you from what may seem far away.

To tune in, it is best not to go with the sounds from the left ear. They often come from busy thoughts. So instead, follow the harmonies that appear to come from an empty space outside the right ear. That said, do not pay too much attention to directions.

Maybe you will not hear ethereal harmonies immediately but the humming symbolised by ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God.’ If so, go with that glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It could also be that you ‘hear’ thoughts. But they will not disturb you from hearing eternal harmonies if that is what you want – nor from having visions of light, infinite sweetness or sublime intimacy.

Tasting the sweetness of oneness helps you not to focus on the world of the outward-facing senses. Since this eventually results in not perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference, there is no separation to hide that which is One.

THE TASTE OF ONENESS
The Taste of oneness can be compared to the foam on a milkshake with a few drops of honey and maybe a hint of either liquorice, strawberry, or mint. It can also be compared to how marshmallows – especially those with a flavour of strawberries – interact with the palate.

Some Chinese Herb Formulations or teas – for example Spring Dragon Longevity Tea – enhance the Taste of Oneness, provided you already are in touch with it. The same applies to the Ayurvedic teas, that Alexius have tasted that include liquorice.

But it is best not to compare the Taste of Oneness or other glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One to anything else because all comparisons are based on definitions from the past, thus cancelling out the ever-present glimpses of Enlightenment.

»Your lips drip nectar, my bride, honey and milk are under your tongue.« Song of Solomon 4:11.

»A land flowing with milk and honey« Exodus 3:8

»Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never be thirsty, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him as a well of water springing up into everlasting life.« John 4:10-4:14.

Even though this taste is called the nectar of life in some scriptures, you should not expect it to make you younger or inject you with more energy in the world of the outward-facing senses. Getting more is an illusion based on the belief that there is more than that which is One.

One way of undoing this belief is not to focus because without it, the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one become blurred. Thus different appearances do not seem to hide, there is no more than the formlessness of oneness. Fortunately, defocusing is a side-effect of the technique for the Taste of Oneness.

The inner sense of taste not only stops the compulsive focusing on forms but also your cravings for sweets and to experience  something definable. The taste of life is always there and it is free. Neither do you have to meditate or be pure to consume it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula. And if you cannot do that, it is also OK, because doing so is just meant to help you deactivating the outer senses and the only thing that really accomplish that, is the intention to do it. Just like even you are at a springboard, you will not dive from it, if that is not your intention of going there.

The inward-facing sense of taste does not only diminish the compulsive focusing on something definitive but also your cravings for more, for example sweets. The Taste of Oneness is always there. It is free, and you do not have to meditate or be pure to enjoy it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula and devote yourself to the Taste of Oneness. If you cannot get your tongue all the way, it is not a problem. The technique is meant to help you deactivating the outward-facing senses and the only thing that really accomplish this, is the intention of doing that. In other words, reaching the uvula with your tongue is good enough to get the sweet taste of oneness. This is not a metaphor, nor second-hand knowledge but Alexius’ experience from tasting the subtle sweetness of oneness on both sides of the uvula the past 50 years. Another result of this technique is that the empty breath is activated. It expands the breathing, so the the body feel glorious. And the soft taste of oneness prevents you from focusing on the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you feel absorded by the happiness of abstractness.

The Taste of Oneness unfolds under the tongue, when it is moved behind the uvula (the skin flap hanging down in the back of the mouth at the entrance to the throat). Placing it there makes you feel like you are not in the world even though you appear there. Besides it cutbacks the need to focus on the world of the outward–facing senses and the longing for more, especially sweets. That is if you devote yourself to it – no techniques work without devotion. Yet devotion can work without a technique.

To get the tongue behind the uvula you may have to press it backwards for a long time, maybe for months, and finally use a finger to push it the rest of the way. It can make you feel as if you are about to vomit. No worries – it is just a feeling. When you are used to keeping your tongue there, it is easy, and there is no sense of vomiting.

»Khechari Mudra is turning the tongue backwards into the cavity of the cranium and turning the eyes inwards toward the eyebrow center.« Haha-Yoga Pradipika, Chapter 3, stanzas 32-37.

To taste the sweetness of oneness, called Khechari Mudray in the above quote, you do not have to literally replicate the ancient technique. Neither do you have to push the tongue behind the uvula as Alexius wrote above. Reaching the soft area underneath the front of the uvula with the backside of the tongue will do. See also the explanation in the above caption.

Alexius started to apply the technique for The Taste of Oneness about 50 years ago. But he cannot remember when he became aware of its side effect of defocusing, thus freeing the body from psychological problems projected onto it. So maybe that takes a while, or he did not notice it at first. But in that context, getting the tongue as close to the uvula as you can is good enough.

THERE IS NO WAY TO THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
You do not welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of its four facets by becoming purer, breathing wholly, eating healthy or anything else you can do in the world of the outward-facing senses. Still, things like that may help deactivate those senses.

However, no technique can do that if that is not the purpose of executing it. In other words, the first step is solely about purpose. If that is to deactivate the outward-facing senses, many techniques work. The second step is to devote yourself to the lucid journey in the world of the inward-facing senses.

But these steps only apply to having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and not to welcome in its entirety, as it takes more than one to take any step.

The part of the world of the outer senses you want to experience is not meant to be blurry but in focus, so what you see is definable. It is the other way around with the world of the inner senses,. In other words, the two worlds does in most cases not work well together. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The part of the world of the outward-facing senses you want to experience is not supposed to be blurry. It must be in focus to make the experience definable. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. Your experiences there are abstract.

DAILY LIFE WITH GLIMPSES OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
It is probably best not to be active in the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. That is because the visual glimpses of Enlightenment can become so intense that the world of the outward-facing senses is hardly sensed.

However, if the technique for tasting the sweetness of oneness is only used for defocusing, it can be carried out all the time while being active in the world of the outward-facing senses. And you can enjoy the ethereal harmonies if you do it without putting your thumbs in the ears and not too long at a time. That also applies to hearing or feeling the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. See Life has no secrets.

The result is the experience of a world less defined. Not to the extent, though, that you cannot move around but that you feel you are carried around.

That is, as long as you do not take the full tour of these glimpses because after 20 minutes, 45 at most, it ends with the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read more about that here. Thus you no longer experience being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, nor in oneness since that requires more than one. You are not someone at all, so there is no memory or consciousness of ever having believed that. Instead, there is what always has been and will be, namely that which is one.

The Hebrew word Elohim was originally a symbol for one perpetual present.

The word god, a translation of the Hebrew word Elohim, was at first meant to be a metaphor for that which is one and never ends, thus a symbol for one perpetual present. But since that makes no in a world of linear time, the meaning of the word gradually changed, so that god became a symbol for one almighty force believed to have created a world in its own image.

But what is not definable cannot create something definable. Hence a world defined by time and space is an illusion and so is the perceived creator of that world.

APPENDIX ABOUT THE QUOTES
The terminology of yoga and scriptures – apart from a quick look in The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita – is unknown to Alexius. So he does not know the books quoted above. Instead, he found the quotes by searching the internet.

When everything is included, there does not appear to be something outside you. And as there is no inside without outside, there is nothing but that which is One.

Alexius does not side with Eastern or Western religions or new-age philosophy. Generally, they exclude what they judge as wrong by projecting it onto non-believers to make them tainted and themselves pure. Yoga, for example, is often based on meditation, where you exclude something deemed evil to become pure so you can return to oneness. But that which is One is formless, thus endless. Thus you can neither add nor subtract from it. If you try to do that, you enhance the belief in being and having more than that which is One.

More than one is like a film of oneness in slow-mo

Updated July 23, 2023

When letters are compiled in various configurations, their different shapes can be attributed as meaningful or meaningless. And when the supposedly meaningful ones are arranged in rows like here, it is as if you read a story written by somebody other than yourself. Hence it seems there is more than One. But since the different arrangements of letters are interpreted by you, you are the maker of the story, so it does not prove there is more than One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Let us imagine that oneness consists of endless letters, some of those make up the shapes appearing in a world where there is more than one. However, since there is no separation in oneness, the letters that oneness consists of cannot be distinguished. Besides, oneness is so fast that it is one perpetual present. Therefore, since there is no time, it is impossible to organise anything linearly.

But suppose you imagine slowing down the speed of oneness until there appears to be space between its letters. In that case, they appear to have different shapes that, over time, can be combined in several combinations attributed with each their specific meaning. Hence space and time establish separation as real and the formlessness of oneness as unreal.

Fortunately, this fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one is easily undone when you reverse it and instead speed up the thoughts that establish the meaning of the letters until there is no time to establish separation.

Suppose you need time to process what you read. In that case, it is not to understand it but to reduce the speed of thoughts so you can remain in the experience of a slowed-down version of oneness and appear calm although feeling alienated because you are not a separated being, but the formlessness of oneness.

It is only in the world of duality, that there appears to be movements, and that there can be more of it. In reality no movements can appear, because everything move so fast that it is one perpetual present as you can see illustrated in these pics of a fan.

In that which is One, everything moves so fast that there is no separation – like in the first image, where the extreme speed of the ceiling fan annuls separation. However, when the fan is slowed down, separation occurs. Likewise, a world where there seems to be more than one appears to come into being when imagining slowing down oneness. The graphic is grabbed from the web and manipulated by Alexius.

In the movie Lucy, Scarlett Johansson demonstrates that when time is speeded up infinitely, there is nothing to see. This is comparable to that which is One. It is so speedy that there is no separation to define something. That is why it is formless, thus endless, and a world where there seems to be more than one is non-existing.

ONENESS VERSUS A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
Oneness can be compared to a movie played so fast that its frames look like one, making it impossible to see anything specific. However, slowed down, it seems like oneness is full of frames with a particular look – like a world with more than one.

Therefore, if you believe to be someone in the movie of a world where there seems to be more than one, you do not undo this belief by slowness but by quickness. You need to speed up the film – or rather, your interpretation of it. Since that is a construction of thoughts, the faster they move, the more the frames appear to press on, and the less you experience more than one.

The Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk plays extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, which produce overtones so trance-inducing, that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it.

That happens by itself when thoughts are not shaped into interlocking Lego bricks, used to build an appearance of you as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. Then thoughts are free to speed up until it is impossible to hold onto them, wherefore you enter a state of not-knowing. From where you return with the slate wiped clean to the awareness of being someone – or have your consciousness terminated by the Enlightenment of that which is One, so there are no experiences to hide there never was or will be anything but the formlessness of oneness.

If you close your eyes after having been deeply involved in something, physically or mentally, you may see it as a blurred picture speeding up like a movie frame. You do not feel disturbed if not holding back, because then its unrestrained energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath, which brings about the bliss of nothing.

The same applies when you worry and do not try to pacify yourself but instead step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions. Then a take-off into the empty breath is ignited.

So to repeat, returning to oneness is not about slowing down thoughts, least of all stopping them. If you do that, you are stuck in a single frame of an empty void, separated from similar ones. This numbness of stillness is as far away from oneness as you can get because that which is One is not deadlocked but free-flowing energy, moving at such a speed that everything is fused into the formlessness of oneness (see the first box).

Therefore, you undo the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one by speeding up thoughts to the extent that they do not appear to differ. Since that makes it impossible to interpret your experience as something specific, no shapes appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.

APPENDIX
Only in undoing the belief in more than one should thoughts not be organised into specific shapes. In a world where there seems to be more than one, thoughts must be set up in particular constructions to confirm your appearance. But maybe not how you expect.

‘The empty breath’ syncs the inward and outward-facing senses

Updated July 23, 2023

Should you wonder who chooses to believe in being someone and who has programmed the brain to produce experiences that seem to confirm this belief or who wonders about this, the answer is nobody. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The brain considers the abstract world of the inward-facing senses an uncompleted version of the substantial world of the outward-facing senses. But it does not mind which one you prefer because its purpose of twisting nothing into something is to make you feel so entertained by its experiences that they seem real, thus attesting to the brain as existent.

But little does it know that having experiences via the inward-facing senses eventually ends the brain’s experiences of you as someone in a world defined by time and space, so there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

WHAT AND WHERE ARE THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
The concepts of seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting relate to the same sensory system, whether in the abstract way of the inward-facing senses or the substantial way of outward-facing ones. In the case of abstract experiences, the brain has not fully processed nothingness into the appearance of physical elements outside you. Thus it feels as if there is an abstract world inside you.

But in the world of the outward-facing senses, the brain has finished twisting nothing into something, so you appear as someone substantial in a tangible world outside you. However, since it takes more than one to experience something, and since there is no more than that which is One, all experiences are an illusion, whether with the outward or inward-facing senses.

The abstract world of the inward-facing senses is experienced when time and space are not entirely considered real. Ultimately speaking, though, the experiences with the inward-facing senses are not more real than those with the outward-facing senses because any experience requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Hence it is only in the context of the brain’s plot to deceive you into experiencing nothing as something that there is someone to experience an abstract world, lightly processed by the brain from the frequencies of nothingness and a substantial world, heavily processed by the brain from the same frequencies.

Still, in this context, the abstract experiences of the inward-facing senses come about when not entirely focused on being someone substantial in the world of the outward-facing senses. The little left of the belief in being substantial makes it possible to experience the abstractness of the inward-facing senses. In other words, when you appear to be nobody in the world of the inward-facing senses, you have not entirely left the belief in being somebody.

Initially, the abstractness in the world of the inward-facing senses may not seem very comforting, but it is the reverse. In the world of the outward-facing senses, we are always afraid of not making it, whereas we have nothing to live up to in the world of the inward-facing senses.

You must constantly focus on the world of outward-facing senses to make it seem real. But it is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. That is experienced when there is no effort to focus or concentrate.

As long as you intend to appear in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is best to multitask between the inward and outward-facing senses so you focus when needed and space out if nothing is required of you.

But we cannot remain in this abstract world if we want to go on in a world defined by time and space. Fortunately, the empty breath is an automatic gear shift between the outward and inward-facing senses, so we go back and forth between them per our present situation.

Just like everything else sensed, the empty breath is invisible and colourless until the brain ascribes it to a specific shape and colour. But as the empty breath does not aspire to be something, the brain does not care to twist it into an object. Hence it remains invisible and colourless.

Not being someone specific feels as if you are nothing, which seems pretty discomforting until you realise that being empty, you are a vessel for the empty breath, which takes you into the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, where glimpses of Enlightenment become the base for experiencing the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE EMPTY BREATH SYNCS THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
Even though you hide from the sun, it remains where it is – likewise, the empty breath. Therefore, the empty breath remains with us if we have briefly been connected with it. It does not know we do not feel connected because it is unaware that we believe to be separated beings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses.

Yet, the empty breath senses the stress this belief seems to create, so it synchs it with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. That is not because it is more peaceful in the world of inward-facing senses than in the outward-facing senses. But because the stress in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem disturbing in the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses.

Besides, the body does not seem troublesome when the perception of it is coordinated with the inward-facing senses per what and where we appear to be because the tensions experienced due to psychological worries about the body’s condition vanishes. See also Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix.

However, it cannot work if you suppress the involuntary movements, the ignition of the empty breath may bring about to make you fall into place with the inward and outward-facing senses. Therefore, follow your electric-like, physical and mental impulses to get this synchronisation. For example, if the shoulders tighten up, be ready for mental relaxation when they fall. Or, if feeling sad, be prepared to be indifferent.

This is a leaf from a palm tree that Alexius has processed into a fantasy of what it may look like when not seen in the world of the outward-facing senses but experienced in the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. But he cannot illustrate the formlessness of oneness. It is without separation, so it cannot be seen. However, that does not mean it is nothing. On the contrary, since oneness is formless, thus endless, it is everything. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This picture and the yellow one above have been processed from the same digital photo. Nothing has been added to the images. However the digital info is manipulated differently. It is a bit like when the brain from the same void of nothing renders a world in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Sometimes, something extreme is needed to make you realise the senses have been synced. For example, when Alexius, as a child, had been involved in an accident, he forgot what and where he was. So when he finally returned home, he asked his mother Who am I? His uncertainty remained, although his parents assumed he soon restituted. However, appearing as they expected was something he pretended as he always had done but was mainly unaware of until then. Read about pretence in Duality Hack #2 Pretending to be twofold undoes duality.

You cannot help the empty breath with the synchronisation. Still, you can prevent yourself from interfering with it, for instance, by doing Nordic Walking regularly, applying heat to the eyes with RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression before sleeping and sleeping with far-infrared heating pads with PEMF.

It is essential to accept that although everything looks like before you were connected with the empty breath, nothing feels the same. At first, it may seem blander because you no longer get peak experiences in the world of the outward-facing senses. But that is because you do not split the duality pairs into separate entities. Therefore, since you feel neither up nor down but are the constant movement of opposites, there is no need for peak experiences.

NOTES:

Notes on ‘the empty breath’

Updated June 7, 2023

The function of the empty breath is not to improve the apparent condition of what and where you appear to be. That would be a replacement of one illusion with another. Instead, its function is to facilitate the undoing of the belief that what and where you appear to be is real. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The empty breath is not about getting healthier, more money, success, love or anything else, but realising what you appear to be and have is nothing. Hence there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is difficult to explain the bliss of nothing that arises from the empty breath because it comes from not perceiving experiences as something.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Connecting with the empty breath, you do not aim to go higher but to fall into the bliss of nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Why is nothing so blissful? Because without something, there are no problems.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is impossible to leave oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Yet, it appears possible to imagine not being there but in a world where there seems to be more than one. In that context, you get a life jacket from oneness: the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the empty breath loves you unconditionally, it is not bothered by your fantasies of being someone definitive. Besides, it is nothing, thus seeing nothing specific. That is why every experience of something is perceived as nothing when connected with the empty breath. Of course, this does not mean you do not do something about a broken leg, for example. But since it is seen as nothing, you do not add worries to your broken leg.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Connecting with the empty breath has nothing to do with appearance but being a medium for nothing, which you are when willing not to be something specific, even when meeting a precious friend like Alexius does here in the hospital. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

What you see on a computer screen are zeros and ones on a hard disk combined to simulate there is something on the screen instead of nothing. But it is not before an app has processed a combination of zeros and ones on the hard disk that you see something on the screen instead of nothing.

In this context, the empty breath is zeros and ones unprocessed by the brain, whereas the world of the screen is zeros and ones are processed by the app called the brain. But the empty breath does not know, you choose to believe the brain’s fantasy of nothing as something.

All the empty breath knows is that reality is oneness. Thus all that it wants is to breathe emptiness into what you believe in being and seeing so that it does not seem to hide, there never was or will be more than oneness because it is formless, thus endless.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

As you probably have read in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings many times, oneness is formless, thus endless. And since it requires more than one to experience something, every experience is fictional. Consequently, it also applies to the experience of the empty breath.

Nevertheless, this experience, deeply rooted in an archetypical image of a never-ending rhythmic flow, slowly but surely corrects the misunderstanding that experiences are real. Furthermore, it becomes unproblematic to experience something. Not in the sense that you have no bad experiences but are indifferent to them.

If this feels confusing, do not try to figure it out. But go with the chaos until you cannot make ends meet and feel as if you are about to explode, which in a sense, happens when the build-up tensions ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Therefore, since it takes you to a state of not-knowing, you are not bound by the belief in being someone definitive until you leave this state and return to the belief in being someone.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Returning to that which is one is not a matter of going anywhere. Oneness is formless, thus endless, so it is impossible to leave it. Unfortunately, it seems possible to believe it is possible to separate. Fortunately, the empty breath undoes this belief so gently that we can enjoy our mistake while having it undone. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings gladly proclaim they are nothing, and you do not get something when connected with the empty breath. Thus nothing to perceive the present moment as something, wherefore you do not get the frustration of something but the bliss of nothing. Read here how to connect with the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Just like what you appear to be is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it does not need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something. Consequently, nothing prevents it from being what and where it is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Though the empty breath has no need to be remembered by you, it is beneficial that you remember it now and then. Temporarily being connected makes you feel better appearing as someone definitive when not connected.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing does not only come from the empty breath. It is the outcome of all Alexius’ Duality Hacks. But if this state always is the same cannot be known because it is a state of not-knowing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is extreme sensitivity to a world defined by time and space that makes you feel fed up, thus feeling so uncomfortable that you give up and go with the uncontrolled energy of confusion, igniting a take-off into the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Going with the flow of the empty breath is just as easy as going with the flow of sex. The latter, though, does not result in the undoing of the belief that you are someone definitive unless the orgasm is used to ignite a take-off to the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Following the flow of the empty breath is no different from following the flow of the genitals because no thinking is needed. However, being horny enhance the belief in being someone definitive, whereas the empty breath phases it out.

That is not to say that sex should be avoided because excluding sex or anything else adds to the definition of you as someone definitive. Actually, an orgasm can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath if you do not hold back but are nothing but orgasmic (read more about sex here).

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Following the empty breath, you automatically multitask because it does not know of focusing on something specific. Therefore, when you do not feel the empty breath, multitasking makes you feel it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since you perceive experiences based on a remix of memories, adjusted every time you recall them to boost the story of you as someone definitive, your perception does not match others.’ Therefore, you conclude something is wrong in your story or others’ and start to correct what you judge as incorrect.

The more you appear successful in this, the more it seems the story can be shaped to create a better version of you. Yet, no matter how the story is corrected, it remains a fantasy, and so does the idea that you are the author – just like you are not the author of a dream, nor are you in it, or the dream in you. It is a deception the brain makes to look as if nothing is something.

Fortunately, the brain cannot make the empty breath look like something, so when we are connected with it, we are in the bliss of nothing, thus not conditioned to perceive our experiences per a story we have made up to improve ourselves.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Some claim the amount of info coming from digital media makes them stressed. But that is probably because they sort the news per a particular philosophy. Thus it is not the amount of information but manipulating it to support a specific opinion that makes them stressed. Fortunately, the more stressed you get, the faster it disappears when you do not slow down the pace of thoughts but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The change of size and weight from hefty to almost nothing – for example, vinyl to CD to MP3 to streaming, and computer to smartphones to wearables – is a reminder that reality is sizeless because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to have a shape.

For the same reason, oneness cannot be seen. That is why the purpose of the empty breath is not to reveal oneness but that what you see is nothing. Hence your interpretation of nothing as something does not seem to hide the formlessness of oneness – like when not perceiving a dream as something, it does not seem to hide you are in your bed. The empty breath accomplishes this while you enjoy seeing nothing as something.

Of course, you could contemplate that something is nothing. But it often turns into a joyless debate of something instead of being in the bliss of nothing entailed by the wordlessness of the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There are many ways to appear in a world defined by time and space, but there is no way to leave it because you are not in it – like within the context of such a world, a dreamer is not in their dream and, therefore, does not return to bed when it is over. Likewise, you do not return to the formlessness of oneness when your apparent life in a world defined by time and space is finished because you never left the formlessness of oneness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since most resist being nobody, they are unwilling to undo the belief in being somebody. But if you acknowledge this, you confirm your appearance is make-believe. Thus you have the willingness to undo the belief in being somebody. See also Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one.

That does not mean you suddenly are gone, reborn or awakened. The story of Santa Claus does not change when you grow up. What changes is that we do not believe it is real anymore. However, there is one difference between the story of Santa Claus and the story of being someone specific in a world defined by time and space. When the belief in the latter is undone or in the process of being it, you are not disappointed. Instead, you feel free to enjoy the story of duality.

You can take breaks from the story by connecting with the empty breath, thus being in a state of not-knowing. And when not connected with the empty breath, it helps you live out the story by syncing the inward and outward-facing. Since this makes you indifferent to a specific interpretation of something, you are in the duality flow. See Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the empty breath synchronises the outward and inward-facing senses, we become indifferent to being somebody in the tangible world of the outward-facing senses, thus responsive to being nobody in the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Alexius connected with the empty breath when he, as a child, every night devoted himself to the whereabouts of the breath, thus going to sleep in the bliss of nothing. However, others were talking so much about being transformed into something higher, so the bliss of nothing seemed foolish to bring about.

Thus he hid being nobody in the bliss of nothing by pretending to be somebody in the world of something until he started writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in 2012. But it was not before writing Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath that he named the way to the bliss of nothing: the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Connecting with the empty breath does not require meditation or other techniques based on exclusion, restraint and control. But neither does the connection require you not to be exclusive because if you stand by your unwillingness to include everything unedited, the uncontrolled energy of suppression ignites a take-off to the empty breath.

Everywhere and nowhere with ‘the empty breath’

Updated June 12, 2023

Although being in the bliss of nothing is straightforward, it may seem complicated if you assume thoughts must be controlled or stopped because focusing on them is impossible in the bliss of nothing. Neither is focussing beneficial for getting there. On the contrary, when not trying to control thoughts, they speed up until the explosion of their unedited energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath and the bliss of nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Connecting with the empty breath may initially feel like you have two kinds of breaths. You may struggle with the physical one, taking quick gasps of air, deep breaths or manipulating breathing per a specific philosophy. And you may feel the empty breath does not supply you with enough air. But that is probably because its pace is slower than you expect. It has a more extended break between breathing in and out to stabilise breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide.

UP AND DOWN WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
It does not feel like it is yourself but a ‘generator’ in the abdomen that makes the empty breath. It expands the abdomen, the belly, and the chest very gently. Then, after a short break, it contracts the body. And then it starts all over. But it may feel like hardly any air is coming through the nose because the empty breath is experienced via the inward-facing senses, which requires the outward-facing senses turned down. Hence you are not much aware of physical movements. Nevertheless, like an inner breath, the empty breath brings all the necessary air. Read more about the inward and outward-fencing senses here.

Physical speaking, breathing can be done through the mouth, but the nose is better. It allows you to use the mouth for the taste of oneness technique, thus getting its side-effect of defocusing and, therefore, in the bliss of nothing. See the paragraph The taste of oneness in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

Please be aware that this article does not intend to present a factual explanation of breathing when the empty breath is in the driving seat but how it feels. Since it is felt via the inward-facing senses and the physical breath is felt by the outward-facing senses, the experience of the empty breath goes on undisturbed by the physical condition of your body.

Therefore, if you have an issue with the lungs that shortens the physical breath, you still get the whole experience of the empty breath when you remain in the inward-facing senses and patiently wait for the empty breath to fill your lungs with the bliss of nothing. And since there was nothing before there was something, the nothingness of the empty breath gives you maximum charge if you do not expect something.

Following the rhythm of the empty breath described here and elsewhere in Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath is hypnotising. That is why you forget to experience yourself as someone separated from others by time and space. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The generator of the physical breath is the muscle called the diaphragm, between the stomach and the chest (see Wikipedia). But, as already said, the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen. So from there, you follow the swing of the empty breath to the top of the head, more or less aligned with the body’s expansion from the abdomen to the chest. At the same time, you acknowledge thoughts and feelings without editing them. Hence their unbound energy ignites a gentle explosion in the top of the head, erasing the perception of being someone. After that, it is like having a body that is not there because you are in a state of not-knowing.

Read more about the swing of the empty breath in What does the empty breath feel like? And read about a state of not-knowing in A state of not-knowing and the after-effect.

That remains while the body contracts, and you go with the swing of the empty breath down to the abdomen. After that, you keep going up and down with the swing of the empty breath, thus still in a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. This is not to say that a state of not-knowing resides in the breath’s flow. It is nowhere. That is why it is obscured by the experiences of time and space that seem to confirm you as someone definitive in a tangible world.

If the above example, you followed the swing of the empty breath going up and down. But you could also have surfed the yin-yang-shaped waves in a vertical circle from the front to the back of you or the other way, thus going up and down in a circular movement. Or perhaps you listened to the transparent sound of the empty breath while going up and down. – or maybe you changed between those ways or did them simultaneously. Read about that in What does the empty breath feel like?

But if you stay in a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time, you cannot return to the experience of being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. So if you want to return to that, you better depart a state of not-knowing relatively quickly. Since you do it with the slate wiped clean, you come back unconditioned, wherefore igniting a new take-off into the empty breath is easy. Below we look at how you can quickly go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone.

The empty breath cancels out the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one. That does not mean they are not experienced as different anymore, but that difference is not perceived to make a difference. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you every so often return to the empty breath, nothing remains a problem because the differences that appear to cause problems are not perceived to make a difference when you are with the empty breath.

That is, if you do not prevent the empty breath from doing that by insisting your spouse, for example, makes a difference. Fortunately, the frustration that seems to arise from upholding a singular perspective can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
Above, you followed the empty breath from the abdomen to the head, where you entered a state of not-knowing in which you remained as nobody for some time.

However, in this sample, you are only in a state of not-knowing when you follow the empty breath from the head to the abdomen while the body contracts. But when it expands, you return to the conscious experience of being somebody by remembering something specific. Fortunately, with the help of the empty breath, you do not perceive that as something. Hence you return to the head as nobody and go down to the abdomen in a state of-not-knowing while the body contracts. From there, you go up to the head again as somebody and leave as nobody in a state of not-knowing. And so on.

Having done this for a while, going back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone becomes automatic. Eventually, you do not know when you are somebody because the contrast of up and down is soon cancelled out (read more about that here). Thus it feels as if nobody is going nowhere and everywhere.

Please notice that when parts of the body, like the head, are mentioned in the movements of the empty breath, you do not experience those parts as compact but transparent because you are with the empty breath. In What does the empty breath feel like? you can read more about the different ways of experiencing the empty breath.

Suppose you think you find something better around the next corner. In that case, you will probably not notice the empty breath because it is not behind anything but before everything that the brain has twisted into an experience of something from out of nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

HERE OR THERE?
Since you a long time ago accepted that the body’s expansion and contraction are related to breathing in and out, you do not have to think about this connection anymore. The same applies if you psychologically decide that breathing in means you are conscious of being someone and breathing out that you are in a state of not-knowing – like you do not have to do anything to feel attracted to the kind of look you have decided is cool.

Having said that, in a state of not-knowing, all conditioning is cancelled, so you return to the consciousness of being someone with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since you are the basic self, you are in the duality flow, thus unable to uphold a specific decision. Fortunately, that is unnecessary because a state of not-knowing complements the duality flow. Besides, a state of not-knowing makes you laugh, so you may still be laughing when returning to the conscious experience of being someone, thus quickly reentering a state of not-knowing.

FROM THE THIRD EYE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
So far, we have said the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen. But if you prefer a more metaphysical approach, you can use the third eye as ‘dynamo’ and start going with the empty breath from there.

You do that by defocusing on the third eye. Then you patiently wait until the breath starts by itself. But you do not go with the flow of it. Instead, you rest in the space that seems to have opened in the third eye, filled with the transparent sound of the empty breath. From there, you probably sense the swing of the empty breath in the upper part of the body, and when breathing in, you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Whether connecting with the empty breath from a ‘dynamo’ in the abdomen or the third eye, you do not notice the constant streaming of thoughts from the brain. So, except when returning to the conscious experience of being somebody, you are in the bliss of nothing, thus feeling transparent, regardless of looking the same.

There is also a ‘dynamo’ for the empty breath in the eighth chakra above the head. From there, you start in a state of not-knowing and simultaneously surf both sides of a vertical circle side of you until you reach the heart. Here you begin contemplating the bliss of nothing, so you are not in a state of not knowing when you surf back to the eighth chakra simultaneously on both sides of a vertical circle that goes forward and backwards you. Returning to the eighth chakra, you are back in a state of not-knowing until you surf down to the heart, where you again contemplate the bliss of being nobody. And so it goes. If you are a high-frequency person, this is probably your way with the empty breath.

You do not need to remember every detail of this photo to get a sense of it. Likewise, you do not need to remember all the explanations about the empty breath to sense it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

FORGETTING UP AND DOWN
Connecting with the empty breath is not a matter of letting go or surrendering because doing so enhances the belief in being someone definitive. And you keep the empty breath at bay if you try to figure out which way to follow it or if it follows the physical breath. It has nothing to do with the body. Actually, you will never know if the physical and empty breath are aligned because you are in a state of not-knowing when connected with the empty breath.

It is a matter of speech when Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings say that the empty breath fills you with emptiness. It does not supply you with anything. But it exposes the body as nothing covered by an experience as if it is something. The same applies to any experience you have. They are nothing disguised as something. Acknowledging this, you are not bothered by something. That is why it is so blissful to be with the empty breath.

Should you forget to go up and down with the empty breath, there is no reason to blame yourself because there is no self. It takes more than one to be or have a self, and there is no more than that which is One. Thus being someone is make-believe. Of course, that also applies to being connected with the empty breath. Nevertheless, it does not establish you as something because it gives you nothing. Hence what you believe in being is exposed as unreal.

Since the empty breath sees nothing but emptiness where you believe to see something, it has no need to be free from anything or be recognised as something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

RELATING TO THE NOTHINGNESS OF THE EMPTY BREATH AS SOMETHING
It may be easier to remind yourself about the nothingness of the empty breath by relating to it via something. For example, sometimes Alexius calls it Uma, the name of his beloved cat. She is dead, thus not appearing as something but nothing like the empty breath, so the memory of her hooked up with the empty breath is like a laser of nothing going through his perceived obstacles of something in the body. Hence nothing stops him from feeling the connection with the empty breath.

Sadness is a close friend of gladness

Updated July 18, 2023

When feeling sad is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it is revealed to be paired with gladness. This revelation sets off the experience of other duality pairs, such as weakness and wellness, disappointment and contentment and tears and laughter. Going with the interaction of the opposing elements in a duality pair, you enter the duality flow. Thus you eventually feel so blown out that there is no more to ask for. Consequently, the need for duality fades out. Photo © Alexius Jørgensen.

Suppose you do not acknowledge the negativity in your psychological sphere but project it onto others. In that case, you also disconnect yourself from your positivity because your negativity is not there to define it. The same applies if you hide your negative thoughts and feelings from your awareness by projecting them onto vulnerable parts of your body. In short, when you do not ratify your negativity, the experience of being positive is fake. Read here about how you quickly bring back what you have projected onto others.

To formulate genuine positivity in yourself, you must restore the negativity you have cut off from your awareness. So when you see something bad in the world, you acknowledge it is your own negativity you experience because what you receive is what you have – like the sun’s colouration of your skin is determined by your pigmentation. However, that does not mean a beggar is in your psychological sphere if you see someone begging on the street. But you have negativity in your psychological zone if you judge what you see negatively. Read more about the psychological zone here.

In that case, like a quick look from above is sufficient to ratify if there is water in a well, a glance in your psychological sphere is enough to feel your negative response to the beggar, so your reaction can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals there is positivity inside negativity. Like two sides of a coin, they define each other. Hence you cannot feel positivity without negativity, and vice versa. Read more about that here. Since the experience of this duality pair, or any other, makes you feel complete, the belief in duality can be undone completely.

In Duality Hack #6 Happiness is to be in touch with the brain, you can read about how the perception ‘it is what it isreveals that your singular opinion of something is twofold, wherefore, you get the togetherness of duality instead of the loneliness of singularity.

The acknowledgement of hell does not make it go away but exposes heaven inside it, and that they interact to define each other.

Any experience perceived as positive is bound to be complemented by another deemed negative because everything comes in pairs of opposing elements in a world of duality. A foreground, for example, is paired with a background so they can define each other, negative thinking confirms positivity, hate verifies love, sadness substantiates gladness, and so on. Photo © Alexius Jørgensen.

FALLING INTO HELL, YOU SEE HEAVEN
That was the short version. The longer one is that when you begin recognising your negativity, its interplay with positivity in the psychological zone may not get your attention immediately. Instead, seeing your negativity probably feels like going to hell because you are overwhelmed by forgotten and unpleasant emotions coming out of the dark.

Perhaps this starts slowly with a familiar sense of depression that you a long time ago hid from your awareness by imagining dumping it behind the pain in a vulnerable part of the body. See more about that in Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix.

But since depression often is repressed anger, sooner or later, it flares out in brutal hellfire. Maybe it is like acid-like splashes coming out of the body part where you initially imagined hiding your anger. Or perhaps it feels like a ruthless and evil force tortures you.

When something in your psychological zone, interpreted specifically as evil, is perceived as ‘it is what it is, you feel evil contains goodness. Likewise, there is success in failure and an angel in a monster. However, none of these opposing elements are important in themselves. It is their constant interaction that makes you feel at home, whereas standing explicitly by one of them you feel lost.

In a world of duality, there is nothing better than the duality flow. But most want to be in control and establish that via single-minded postulates, so they avoid twofoldness. Although that gives them a sense of superiority, the overall feeling is despair because you never seem to get it right. That is, until you stop upholding your singular opinions as facts but go with the duality flow. By doing that, any point of view is exposed twofold. Thus you feel nonsectarian, which is necessary to feel completed by the constant interaction of opposites in a world of duality. Photo © Alexius Jørgensen.

Not avoiding but acknowledging that exposing your negativity feels like hell, your single-minded response can be perceived as ‘it is what it is. That reveals hell is twofold. It is side by side with heaven, and they constantly interact, not balanced and harmoniously but adventurously. You rapidly go up and down between heaven’s pleasure and hell’s displeasure. It is like ocean waves: sometimes they are big and fast, and at other times, they are small and slow or hardly there. Amazed by the polarity, you realise there is no heaven without hell in a world of duality – just like there is no breathing in without breathing out. You cannot have one without the other.

Since duality is about twofoldness, and you believe in a world of duality, joining the interaction of hell and heaven makes you feel complete. And since this automatically leads to the experience of other duality pairs, the feeling of completeness eventually becomes so intense that you forget to define yourself. Consequently, you do not appear to hide non-duality. However, the process leading up to this may seem more comfortable if the problematic area in the body, where you once attempted to conceal singular feelings separated from their complementary parts, is fixed.

If you acknowledge every emotion that pops up in your psychological zone, there are no psychological unpleasantness to project onto the body. Consequently, there is nothing mysterious to fear in the body.

In a world of duality, everything comes in pairs. So if you do not try to split them to hold onto a singular perspective of love, for example, you are aligned with duality. That does not mean things work better but do not bother you because you feel complete in the duality flow. Photo © Alexius Jørgensen.

LIVING PER DUALITY IS EFFORTLESS
When dualism is accepted, you enjoy the constant interaction of love and hate. Therefore, since you do not hide hatred in the body, you have no need to imagine special tensions to block the communication between the body and the brain. Hence the brain, which has the blueprint of the body’s composition, can restore the body through its anatomy with the help of nature. In other words, the brain, not you, knows how to handle the body. Still, you may help call a healthcare professional if needed. But the brain does not need your help connecting with nature. It is already hooked up to the cosmos. That is why you do not fall off the planet and feel connected with everything when you do not try to integrate the body with your ideas of perfection.

That does not mean you must abandon your ideas but that you perceive your opinions as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals your reasoning is not singular but dual. Therefore, since you are in a world of duality, you feel aligned with it. Being that, you do not wonder about the future because you are in the duality flow. Read more about that here. Hence your next step comes effortlessly – like breathing out follows breathing in. However, the duality flow is not physical, thus not something in the body but in the psychological sphere.

Here you can read more about the obstruction of the natural relationship between the brain and the body and how to restore it.

You get a preview of non-duality by taking a break from duality. It feels like walking on clouds, even though you may be walking on a busy street. However, it calls for more than one to feel something, so the preview of non-duality is a simulation. Photo © Alexius Jørgensen.

TAKING A BREAK FROM DUALITY
If your descent into hell* seems so distressing that you overlook its counterpart, heaven, a break from duality may be the way to go. That does not happen by pacifying yourself via meditation, praying or soothing music but by not withholding your anxiety, so its full speed ignites a take-off into the empty breath (read more about that in Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath).

The empty breath immediately brings you into a state of not-knowing. Here experiences go on as usual. But since nobody responds to them, there are no reactions to establish them as different. Therefore, although you are in the brain’s game, you are not of it, so after 20 minutes, 45 at most, the brain feels so abandoned that it falls into a coma. Hence, you should not remain in a state of not knowing for too long unless you want to permanently undo the belief in duality. Read more about that here.

Fortunately, not much time is needed in a state of not-knowing to have the slate wiped clean, so you return to a world of duality as the basic self. Since it perceives its response to an experience as ‘it is what it is,’ the reaction is not sensed as singular but twofold. Hence, as you probably already know, descending to hell is complemented by ascending to heaven.

That does not mean non-duality is a fusion of heaven and hell or the union of all contrasts. On the contrary, non-duality is neither something nor nothing because it takes more than one to be anything. Yet it is everything because non-duality is formless, thus endless.

However, the topic of Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality is not non-duality but living per duality. You need to be fully anchored in the belief that you are someone in a world of duality to undo that belief – just like you need to play a game to finish it. Hence we continue in the context of duality in the following article, ‘What if…?’ versus ‘it is what it is’.

The thought-up mix of physical and psychological issues

Updated September 19, 2023

Those who think their body should be transformed and become spiritual need to be more physical. The body is solely material. Hence it cannot be mixed with something immaterial. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading about the perception ‘it is what it is’ in Duality Hack #6 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to be happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

For years there has been an unhealthy idea about uniting body, mind and soul. However, the body is a physical unit built to deal with material matters, not mental, emotional or metaphysical ones – like the physical world and cyberspace cannot be combined, except in fantasy. In other words, the assumed link between a problem in the psyche and the body, or vice versa, is make-believe. How to undo that is what Duality Hack #7 The fake mix of physical and non-physical issues, explores.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You will never find anything physical in the digital world. Likewise, you never see something physical in the psychological sphere or vice versa. In other words, the concept of a body-mind connection is a scam.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Naturally, the body is exhausted after working, jogging or doing something else that requires much energy. If you respond to the body’s condition with anxiety and assume those feelings are connected, it feels like the body is about to collapse. But since the connection between a physical and psychological issue is made up, so is the supposed outcome. Hence it cannot be healed in the body but where it is imagined, namely in the mental zone.

On the other hand, when you deal with the body’s tiredness physically, the problem is probably solved by a good night’s sleep. And if you deal with anxiety where it is, namely in the mental sphere, you see it has nothing to do with feeling tired but old feelings of not making it triggered by feeling exhausted. But you made it. That is why you are tired. And you will feel anew after resting the body.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Projecting psychological feelings onto the body and expecting them to go away when the body is fixed is like placing feelings in your smartphone and thinking they to go away when the phone is repaired. Psychological feelings remain in the psychological sphere. Hence it is there they must be dealt with.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Non-physical feelings are fleeting, so to make them last, you must combine them with something more lasting, like physical feelings. However, immateriality and materiality do not mix, so their combination is make-believe Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The body is made to interact with structures that, like itself, are material. That is why the body interprets your attempts to integrate it with non-physical feelings or ideas of spirituality as an attack on its integrity, which it must defend itself against.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since a psychological feeling is fleeting, it only seems lasting when you imagine combining it with something substantial, for example, there is love in the heart. Undoing this fantasy by looking at it where it is conceived, namely, in the psychological sphere, seems frightening if you have based relationships on this idea. If so, it feels like you lose something by undoing the fantasy.

However, if you do not avoid the unpleasantness, it will not remain long because the mental zone is airy, so looking at it is enough to reveal it contains its opposite pleasantness. That happens so fast that you will not remember what you looked at. Read more about this process here. And read about the mental zone here.

Unfortunately, most people do not want to undo the belief in a body-mind connection. On the contrary, they want to uphold their imagined union of immaterial and material issues as authentic to extend specific emotions and thus remain in a fantasy of lasting love. Should their extended feelings be questioned, they refer to the bodily symptoms they claim are caused by psychological issues.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you have excluded what you do not like about yourself from your awareness by imagining, it is linked with the feeling of a vulnerable body part, your psychological issues seem hidden inside physical problems. To uphold this fantasy, you probably resist healing the physical matters you imagine are blended with psychological issues.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When we project the flaws of our personality onto vulnerable parts of the body, such as the stomach, our perceived flaws seem to have been erased from our awareness. That is how we fool ourselves into believing we have been transformed. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you experience a specific feeling continuously, it is a thought-up version because feelings are fleeting. You probably have combined it with a physical sensation in the body, making the feeling more substantial and lasting. For example, by imagining the psychological feeling in the stomach, you seem to experience it every time you have an upset stomach.

But if it is an exceptional experience of love you want to hold onto, you may combine it with a pleasant physical notion in the heart. And if it is a hateful memory you want to hold onto, you link it with physical unpleasantness in the chest. Both physical sensations were already there, probably caused by other physical reactions in the body. However, just as you cannot combine a wall with the wind, fusing a body with an abstract feeling is impossible.

Yet, it is possible to mentally blend the experience of physical and psychological issues so that whenever you experience a specific kind of love, you think you feel something nice in the heart. And whenever you feel hatred towards someone, you imagine something weird in the chest. In both cases, it is a mental experience based on the wish to extend a psychological feeling by imagining that it is linked with a physical experience.

You can undo this imagination by perceiving your reaction to the thought-up mix of physical and psychological feelings in the body as ‘it is what it is.’ That renders your response indefinable. Therefore, since the body is set free from your thought-up mixture, it lines up with the biological system to outline the physical part of the combo and heal it in agreement with physical laws.

Most likely, the physical part is the muscles in the chest. They were already tightened when you made the imaginary link, but then they tightened up further to defend the body against your attempt to inflict it with non-physical issues. In that case, you can the body healing it by massaging the tightened area with fasciae tools from Blackroll, for example. But you should also consult a healthcare professional to ensure no hidden heart problem.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being in the natural state of happiness does not mean all circumstances are perfect but that they are perceived like that. For example, you might think it is too hot. However, since you perceive your reaction to this experience as ‘it is what it is,’ your response is not singular but twofold. Therefore, since feeling hot is complemented by feeling chill, the moment is perfect regardless of temperature. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It does not rain because you feel sad, nor does the rain has the power to make you feel bad. That is unless you choose to perceive such a course and effect. Likewise, the body cannot make you sad, nor does feeling unhappy make the body bad unless you imagine such a connection.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Something that seems very scary in a movie is often experienced as real because it is as if it makes fear builds up in your body. However, the film has no power to do that. The anxiety is not caused by the events in the movie but by how you perceive them.

You perceive the events as scary because you have conditioned yourself to interpret specific scenarios like that. And to make it feel real, you project the fear onto a body part that is already tense and seems tenser when you give it your attention. Thus it feels like the movie affects your body.

Sometimes, it is the other way around. For example, if you have a stomach ache that does not make sense, you explain it by imagining that a psychological issue from your past has caused it. Unfortunately, this thought-up combination results in a psychosomatic disorder which is very hard to disentangle because the psychological part is most likely pieced together.

Fortunately, you do not have to understand what is happening and why. This imaginary combo, like any other, is quickly undone by perceiving your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ That renders your response indefinable, wherefore it has no definable cause. And without a specific cause, there is no particular effect. In other words, the supposed psychosomatic disorder is make-believe.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

As an appendix to the above note, please do not interpret it as you should stop mistaking a movie for real – or refrain from assuming something psychological causes something physical. If you suppress your reactions to appear perfect, you cannot revise your single-minded misconceptions by perceiving them as ‘it is what it is,’ so it becomes dual, thus cancelling your supposed connection.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you do not look for anything to make you feel better, your reaction to everything automatically is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Consequently, there is not something to upset you. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Many people turn the body’s signals into mental messages by dematerialising the body. For example, the genital zone is dematerialised via tantra sex. Read more about sex here. Thus it seems you can mentally decide that the signals from the abandoned areas are spiritual. But there is no spirituality in the body. On the contrary, the body is material. That is why it defends itself against the attempts to combine it with non-physical issues by turning it into a weapon against you.

Even though the body’s approach feels distressing, you accept it because it further disrupts the natural flow of communication between the body and the brain, so you, not the brain, seem to be the body’s boss. However, your idea of making it whole by transforming it with mental ideas of wellness is seen as an attack on its physical integrity. Thus the body keeps defending itself against you until you stop inflicting it with your ideas of unity.

Fortunately, it does not matter how abused your body is regarding applying Alexius’ Duality Hacks. They bring you into a state of not-knowing regardless of the body. In this state, the slate is wiped clean, So when you return to the consciousness of being someone, the foolish ideas of a body-mind-soul connection are gone. Thus your body is happy, and so are you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Most do not feel and see the body as it is. Instead, they have a vision of what it will feel and look like when they successfully impose their ideas of perfection upon it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ the specific meaning you have assigned to your response opens up and reveals it is not singular but twofold. Therefore, paired with being pure, lust does not make you feel ashamed but joyful. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Sometimes, the breath is held back to prevent pain in a problematic body area. That is not healthy, nor is pushing the breath through it. Both approaches imply you believe you are in control, even though you would quickly die if you should remember to breathe.

The solution to this is not to let the breath be. This idea also implies you are in charge. The key is to step back so that what you believe in being is out of the way. That is done by perceiving the fear that your problem seems to cause as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals fear is not alone. It is complemented by confidence, defined by fear that outlines confidence.

In this interplay, called the duality flow, you feel complete, thus free. Therefore, since there is no attempt to interfere with the breath, it runs freely despite physical issues.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Whatever is perceived in the psyche to affect the body or in the body to affect the psyche is made-up connections. Fortunately, they are undone when you perceive your reaction to the effect as ‘it is what it is.’ However, you may feel empty when the idea of a body-mind connection goes down the drain. No worries. Soon you realise how laid-back life is without this fake unity.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Clothes feel good when adjusted to your body’s size. And the body feels good when you are adjusted to it, which you are when willing to fall into it. The purpose is not to integrate your awareness with the body but to enjoy the interaction of heaviness and lightness. It feels so good that grievances and desires disappear. Hence every moment is the perfect moment – nothing is wrong or missing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Although the clothes and the body wearing them seem closely related, they do not understand each other. The clothes have no love or anything else to give the body and vice versa. Likewise, immateriality and materiality have nothing to give each other. Their reality is different. That is why psychological ideas of attaining physical wellness do not work.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since psychological issues seem to impact the body significantly, many conclude they are connected. But that is like assuming clothes are connected with the body because you feel cold without them. They have absolutely nothing in common.

Applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks reestablishes the connection between the body and the brain – not by healing the body, though, but by undoing the foolish idea that you are in it. Hence it becomes like a coat you wear. It follows you, but you are not the same.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you perceive your response to an experience as ‘I know what it is,’ it is based on a quick look at different points of view to see which one establishes you as in the know. The stress this entails is not solved before you stop insisting, ‘I know what it is,’ and instead perceive your response as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception does not require you to be on top of it. Thus, you are at peace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The fastest way to repair a psychosomatic disorder is not to perceive it as ‘I know what it is but ‘it is what it is.’ The first view is definite, whereas the second does not have a monocratic but dualistic approach. Hence the second view aligns you with dualism, and since you are in a world of duality, this is the way to go if you want to feel complete.

In other words, to start healing a psychosomatic disorder, there is nothing you need to change but your perception of your reaction to it. Read more about that here.

The psychological and physical sphere does not blend

Updated September 19, 2023

If you feel rejected, the body has no reason to suffer. Nor is there any reason not to feel good if the body suffers from an illness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading Duality Hack #6 Happiness is to be in touch with the brain.

In a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements. They depend on each other, like breathing in and out. And also, like breathing does not work if you mix the opposing ingredients, you cannot blend the contrasting parts of a duality pair.

That said, since non-duality is formless, thus endless, duality is an empty vision as airy as a dream. Hence it is only within the context of duality that something seems substantial or unsubstantial. But since you assume to read this on tangible media, you believe in a world of duality.

But you cannot undo that belief unless you have acknowledged it, thus not separating or combining the opposing elements in the duality pairs making up a world of duality but respecting their interdependency. However, most divide or unite the contrasting parts in duality pairs. For example, many believe they can connect physical and non-physical issues. This hack explores how to correct that mistake.

Allhough projections are not real, they appear to be if you hide that their apparent effect is self-made. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you denigrate others to make yourself look good, you live in constant fear of retaliation. Hence you turn the body into a weapon of defence or attack by keeping your shoulders deadlocked in a backwards or forward position. But since that makes the muscles inflexible, they eventually ache. Fortunately, this is easily healed by acknowledging, you have chosen to hurt the body because not being blamed for what you feel, the body relaxes.

FULFILLED BY TWOFOLDNESS VS UNFULFILLED BY SINGULARITY
In the mental sphere, you see yourself as someone in a world defined by time and space. But since that which is you is no different from that which is One, and it is formless, thus without beginning and end, it is painful being reduced to someone in a capsule of time and space.

Nevertheless, this pain makes you feel real. For example, you pinch yourself to determine whether you are dreaming. And when you feel pain, you decide you are awake as a substantial being in a tangible world.

In other words, since your sense of existence is bracketed with pain, you must suffer to feel alive. And since being someone in a world defined by time and space is based on separating yourself from the formlessness of oneness, disassociating is also what you resort to in making the pain bearable. In the psychological sphere, you eliminate uncomfortable feelings from your awareness by projecting them onto vulnerable body parts. Hence the disassociated psychological issues seem hidden in physical matters.

However, you sense the physical discomfort experienced in the body is not solely material. But instead of acknowledging that you projected non-physical problems onto the body, you blame the world for your pain. Then, to deal with its expected retaliation, you turn the body into a weapon of defence or attack by keeping the shoulders pushed forward into a defensive position or pushed back into a place of constant readiness to attack.

That makes you feel in control, thus safe, especially when you push one of the shoulders upwards to constrict the energy further. If it is the left shoulder, the brain’s processing of the body’s feelings is delayed, wherefore you have time to step in, giving the body’s signals a clear-cut meaning that confirms you are someone definitive instead of the brain’s interpretation in which you are twofold. However, if it is the right shoulder, the incoming signals are rendered as twofold by the brain but blocked from being expressed like that. This approach is often the woman’s way.

A way to prevent feelings from being expressed as they are is to hold your mouth closed, even when you smile. Hence it is as if no lousy emotion slips out. However, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. So if you exclude negativity, you also ban positivity. So since there is no negativity to define positivity, your positivity is thought up. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In other words, women tend to allow the body’s emotions to be processed by the brain but often override the brain’s dualistic description of feelings from being expressed. Instead, they replace it with a singular interpretation establishing them as unique women knowing the exact meaning of their emotions.

Besides hiding that they do not know who they are, their single-minded insight fends off the brain’s story of twofoldness, thus togetherness. The resulting loneliness is often suppressed by manipulating others into thinking they need the women’s secret superpower to connect with their feelings.

Generally, men also want to feel needed by others as someone definitive, not dual, even though they do not know what they are. So before the brain receives the body’s emotions to process them as twofold, men define them mentally. Hence, since they are out of touch with their genuine feelings, emotions do not disturb them from doing the right thing per mental concepts, thus appearing as superstars. But, unfortunately, this way of suppressing their incoming feelings stiffens the left side of the body, whereas controlling the outgoing emotions, like women often do, hardens the right side.

Since the disruption is caused by the mental vision that you are the master of the body, the problem originates in the mental sphere, where you try to hide feeling inferior by controlling the body’s incoming or outgoing signals.

The brain loves when its experiences make you believe you are something, thus, not discovering you are a fantasy made from nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

However, feeling inferior is a misunderstanding brought about by the perception that you are definitive, not twofold. Fortunately, it is easily corrected. Suppose you perceive your definite response to the present moment as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals your reaction is not singular but twofold, so feeling lost, for example, is complemented by feeling seen.

When you do that and perceive your reaction to the body as ‘it is what it is,’ thus having your response exposed as twofold, the body’s signals are not seen as singular but dual. Hence the brain recognises them.

When joining the interaction of these opposites or any other, you are in the duality flow. Therefore, since you do not feel anything specific, you cannot use pain to prove your existence as someone definitive. Fortunately, it does not matter because there is no need to be something specific in the constant interaction of opposites. Therefore, since you do not manipulate the body to create a special appearance, its signals flow freely to the brain, which has the body’s blueprint, thus knowing how to deal with them to keep the body sound.

Like you adjust to the concept of a computer game, you adjust to being twofold when playing the game of duality.

Ultimately, you are neither twofold nor singular because reality is non-dual, and it takes more than one to be anything. Since it also requires more than one to leave non-duality, you never left it. Besides, it is formless, thus endless, so there is nowhere to go. However, believing to be in a world of duality, it is easier to undo the belief when not singular but twofold. Since that does not turn you into something specific, you are nobody, hence nothing to give up returning to non-duality.

APPENDIX
The above about receiving and giving the signals picked up by the body is written within the brain’s story of you being someone definitive, which is a lie. You are nobody. so you receive nothing. Consequently, whatever you experience to receive and give or prevent from receiving and giving is thought up by the brain. You being in charge is also a story made up by the brain. You do not have the power to make thoughts yourself, only to highlight or disregard those you believe establish the brain’s story as something, thus, you as someone.

Actually, although Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are grabbed from without the help of the brain, writing them is done within the context of the brain’s story of being somebody in a world where there seems to be more than one. It is impossible to write them within the context of oneness because it takes more than one to write something. That is also why everything in a world where there seems to be more than one is fake, including the realisation you may have due to Alexius’ Duality Hacks. They do not reveal the truth or improve the world but undo the belief that you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Nevertheless, the more that belief is undone, the better you feel because the less you believe there is more than One. However, that may not stop your hay from having a fever, for example, but feeling its symptom does not upset you. In other words, the empty breath is like a raincoat. It does not stop the rain, yet you are not bothered by it. Having said that, you may still feel bothered, but since you do not link it with the rain, it is a fleeting feeling.

In sync with duality or not – or taking a break

Updated July 23, 2023

There are many parallel universes in the brain. Like in a computer game, they are in the code that determines the subsequent events caused by your choices. Since it is encrypted, you cannot know the outcome of your decisions. Yet, they play out as arranged in advance by the brain. In other words, you can decide which way to go but not what it entails. Nevertheless, you can perceive your reaction to the outcome as you want. If the perception is singular, you are out of touch with the brain’s script of duality, thus feeling frustrated. But if it is twofold, it is synced with duality, so you feel entertained. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When your reaction, for example, disgust, to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is complemented by feeling loved, and the opposing feelings interact. That feels as amusing as going up and down on a rollercoaster. However, perceiving your disgust response as ‘I know what it is’ does not amuse but disappoint you because this perception establishes disgust as a definitive feeling by suppressing its partner, love.

In other words, the perception ‘it is what it is’ rules out egoistic behaviour and ‘I know what it is’ endorses it. Yet most people prefer the latter because it endangers their sense of being unique and in control. Hence they stick to ‘I know what it is’ by editing the past and never being in the present but dreaming up the next moment, so it seems to support ‘I know what it is.’

But if your response is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ you do not care about establishing it as a distinct feeling or complementing it with its partner because you are in the bliss of nothing. That is like watching a movie where you do not get the plot. Therefore, since the script’s progression does not seem to add up to something, you are not troubled by anything. But after 20 minutes, 45 at the most, in the bliss of nothing, you do not get that anymore because the brain falls into a coma when you stop confirming its world of something.

Since that is the end of the illusion of being someone who experiences something, you should not maintain the perception of ‘dunno what it is’ for too long at a time if you want to return to that. Instead, you better cycle between ‘dunno what it is’ and ‘it is what it is,’ which is a shift between being nobody in the bliss of nothing and somebody in the twofoldness of something.

Even though a dream is made of nothing, it is experienced as something. Likewise, the world you believe to see with open eyes. According to science, it became something when nothing exploded in a big bang. Thus no matter how you interpret your experiences, they are nothing disguised as something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The perception, ‘dunno what it is’, bypasses the brain. It feels like taking tranquillisers without side effects and expenses. As soon as your perception changes to ‘dunno what it is,’ the body is freed from all psychological issues projected onto it. Therefore, since the natural flow between the body and the brain is not blocked anymore, the body can get the information it needs from the brain to heal itself. Read more about that in Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix.

That is, unless you interrupt the healing by insisting on ‘I know what it is’ and inflict the body with non-physical ideas of wellness. That is not to say you cannot help the brain restore the body. For example, Nootropics may kickstart the process. A healthcare professional can deal with zoonotic diseases like HIV, Mers and COVID-19, or other sicknesses caused by human interference with the world’s ecosystems – and, of course, problems like a broken arm and heart-related issues. You can also use far-infrared heating pads on tight areas.

Be aware, though, that the release of tensions may, at first, feel like a descent into hell because, without the blockages to stop the natural flow in the body, you feel everything you have inflicted on the body to support your self-glorifying vision of being in command. See also Sadness is a close friend of gladness. But if you are not focused on them, the blockages feel like they generate joy instead of pain. See the end of the article.

If you try to see reason, coherence, purpose or something else that makes your life seem spiritual, you will never get the relaxation and satisfaction that comes from the perception ‘it is what it is.’ Instead, you get the stress and despair from seeking thoughts that seem to confirm, ‘I know what it is.’ Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But if you want to bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One (read more about that in Duality Hack #10 The Enlightenment of that which is One), and, thus, the complete undoing of the belief in being someone, the condition of the body is not essential. However, a sound body seems crucial for a satisfactory experience of being someone in a world of duality.

Although many claims that is what they want, very few choose the perception ‘dunno what it is.’ Probably because, when you override the brain, there is no self – after all, it is the brain’s fantasy. Hence almost everybody continues their ambivalent relationship with the brain’s experiences of something instead of entering the bliss of nothing. Read more about selflessness in Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath.

Nevertheless, no matter what perception we select, the brain’s script plays out as scheduled. That does not mean you cannot choose between going up or down, for example. But no matter what you decide, the brain already has arranged the subsequent events – like everything you do in a computer game is part of its script.

When you do not share experiences of love or anything else with someone perceived to be differentfrom you, separation gets undone.

It can be challenging to change one’s perception from ‘I know what it is’ to ‘it is what it is’ because the former perception is secured by attention towards muscle tension. And although you may like to get rid of them, you hold back because the pressures seem to block off the communication between the body and the brain. Consequently, you assume you can integrate the body with your ideas of spirituality by forcing it into unnatural positions via yoga, for example.

But that is impossible. Spirituality is non-duality, and it requires more than one to combine something. Besides, there is nothing but non-duality since it is formless, thus endless. That is why the experience of duality is fake. However, while you believe it is real, the body should be handled within the context of duality – just like you deal with the experience of being someone in a computer game within its parameters.

If every comment inside you regarding this photo is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing has been added or subtracted from the experience of the image. Thus you are in sync with the brain’s rendering of it. But you are not in sync if you rearrange the comments, so they seem to prove ‘I know what it is.’ However, like parents also love their naughty kids, the brain loves you just the same. Unfortunately, only the basic self feels the love. The special self is so busy looking for something better that it does not notice the love coming with each thought from the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In duality, everything comes in pairs of opposites. So going with their interaction, you are in sync with duality as orchestrated by the brain. But regardless of being in sync with the duality flow, the brain injects you with shots of happiness because it loves you as you are. However, the special self only wants what it believes is created by itself, so it enhances its experiences of bodily tensions by projecting psychological problems onto them, thus blocking out the brain’s love. (see Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix).

Even though the basic and special self may have the same bodily problems, the basic self does not blend them with psychological issues. Therefore, since the biological system works uninterrupted by non-physical matters, the brain’s happiness flows through the body’s tightened areas, which feel like shivering with joy instead of screaming in pain. That is why the basic self often is so ecstatic that it reacts to the experiences of duality as ‘dunno what it is,’ thus entering the bliss of nothing.

This can happen while you walk, sit on a bench in the park, watch a movie, or are about to fall asleep. In other words, you do not have to refrain from something or do anything in particular to get the bliss of nothing. While satisfied by nothing, you follow the brain’s script of something, which goes on as usual. Hence it is like being in a world of duality but not of it.

When you again return to the conscious experience of duality, you know it is made of nothing. Therefore, you can turn it off like you leave a dream by recognising there is nothing in it, nor you, because you are in your bed. Metaphorically, you have fun appearing as someone in a vision of duality while in your bed, perceiving your response to the dream as ‘it is what it is.’

And by perceiving it as ‘dunno what it is,’ you take a break from duality until you do not forget that you are not in the dream of duality, nor anywhere else, because that takes more than one, and there is no more than One since non-duality is formless, thus endless.

APPENDIX:
Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings are written within the concept of duality. They do not claim to be non-dual or to know what it is since that requires more than one. But they claim to know what is not non-dual, namely, everything experienced, because it takes more than one to be conscious of something.

‘I know what it is’ vs ‘it is what it is’ vs ‘dunno what it is’

Updated July 10, 2023

Suppose you think you are on top of it and know where to go. In that case, try to imagine you do not know. Then feel which of the approaches makes life adventurous. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading Duality Hack #5 The worry-free life of the basic self.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the brain’s script is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ your dark feelings are not excluded but included. Therefore this perception is not a way to the dullness of detachment but the vitality of involvement. Besides, it is very close to the nothingness from where the brain scripts its story of duality. Not as close, though, as the perception’ dunno what it is’ because it exposes all experiences are nothing.

That is why you get the bliss of nothing from perceiving your reaction to an experience as ‘dunno what it is,’ whereas you get the sadness of something specific from ‘I know what it is’ and the fullness of duality from ‘it is what it is.’

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self and the special one are bound to follow the GPS coordinates from the brain without making side trips. They do not have the power to change the journey – only how to perceive it. Their perception of that, though, is different. The basic self perceives everything as ‘it is what it is,’ and the special one as ‘I know what it is.’

That is why it is easy for the basic self to be someone and very hard for the special one. It has to make a special perception of each experience, establishing that ‘I know what it is.’

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the perception of the special self is built upon the perception ‘I know what it is,’ it rejects what would make it relax, namely the bliss of nothing, which comes from the perception ‘dunno what it is.’

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ there is nothing to escape. But when the perception is ‘I know what it is,’ you must avoid everything unknown to make it look like you are on top.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self does not want to perceive its response to itself as ‘it is what it is,’ but asI know what it isbecause the latter upholds the idea of being something specific, for example, beautiful. In contrast, the perception ‘it is what it is’ reveals tour response is twofold, thus not specifically beautiful but just as ugly. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not feel stuck when perceiving your reaction to your experience as ‘it is what it is .’ Thus, there is no urge to escape or transform anything.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Perceiving everything as ‘it is what it is,’ every experience feels good enough.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It feels like something is missing when you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘I know what it is’ because the perception is specific, thus suppressing its counterpart. But if your response to an incident is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you feel complete because your reaction is revealed as twofold. However, the perception ‘dunno what it is’ does not result in a specific feeling or twofoldness. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love and vice versa. That is why you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling in love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the assumed feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of whether expectations are met.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Only the brain can make you feel good enough because nobody else knows what you are. And you do not have to get its approval because it loves you as you are. However, you do not feel that if you go against the brain. Fortunately, all you need to correct your mistake is to perceive your reaction to the experience the brain processes as ‘it is what it is’. Actually, you do not even have to do that. If you do not interfere with the brain’s workings, it automatically makes this perception.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

What do the expressions of Alexius’ cat, Wincent, mean? Alexius cannot know, but if he reckons that he does, he gets stressed from trying to make it true. But, on the other hand, if he perceives his reaction to Wincent as’ it is what it is,’ there is nothing to prove and thus no stress. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Alexius’ cat, Wincent, has had the same routine for many years. First, Wincent leaves the house early in the morning and returns when Alexius is still in bed. Then Wincent greets Alexius, lays down next to him, and waits for him to get out of bed so he can prepare Wincent’s food. At least, that is the obvious conclusion because as soon as Alexius gets out of bed, Wincent runs to the kitchen, where he, with big eyes, sits and waits for Alexius to give him food.

If Alexius believes he knows what is happening, he goes from the perception of the basic self, ‘it is what it is,’ to the perception of the special self, ‘I know what it is.’ Thus Alexius stressfully thinks about feeding his beloved cat to establish he is in the know. But Wincent does not get his food any sooner than if Alexius had remained the basic self and perceived his reaction to Wincent’s behaviour as ‘it is what it is’ because the brain’s script runs its course, no matter how it is perceived. Therefore the only difference between being the basic or special self is that the former feels relaxed when feeding Wincent and the latter very stressed.

In other words, life is effortless when you are the basic self but stressful as the special one because you use a lot of energy to fool yourself into believing you are in charge.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the perception of your response to an experience is ‘I know what it is,’ you feel important but also exhausted because it requires much manipulation to look like you are in the know. That is why the special self always needs more energy, contrary to the basic self, which feels fine regardless of being energetic because it has nothing to live up to.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The brain uses five per cent of its capacity to shape the conscious experience of a self. But much more space is needed to establish the experience of the self as real. Therefore, a bigger part of the brain is used to make an exciting story about the self that seems to have been caused by the experiences the brain creates of a dualistic world outside it. The brain expects that your reaction to this fantasy of duality is twofold. But most people react to it through singled-out memories, feelings and imaginations to establish themselves as someone independent of duality, thus of the brain. That is why they feel disconnected.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you always perceive your reaction to something as ‘it is what it is,’ you do not try to prevent the brain’s script from unfolding as outlined. Hence the Enlightenment of that which is One is close at hand. Not because your story built up to it. But when it is what it is,  nothing specific seems to block the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read more about that in Duality Hack #11 Going without distance to non-duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Practically speaking, you are always in sync with the brain. You cannot choose not to follow its script of duality. But you can choose to think you follow a better way. However, the brain does not give a damn. Its script continues as planned, so nothing has changed other than you feel disconnected.

In other words, being in sync with the brain’s script of duality is not a matter of waiting for things to happen, according to the manuscript. They always do. Instead, it is a matter of perceiving your reaction to what happens as ‘it is what it is.’ By doing that, you see your response is not singular but twofold. Thus you are in sync with the script of duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your reaction to something in the body is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ the response is not experienced as singular because, for a moment, it is replaced by a distinct experience of its counterpart. The two opposing feelings start interacting hereafter, so you are revitalised by the duality flow.

But your feeling remains singular when you perceive what you feel in the body as ‘I know what it is’ to uphold a particular point of view. Thus you are in the misery of believing to know something definitive.

If your reaction to something in the body is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ you are not in the misery of believing to know something definitive because you do not know of a body that feels something. Consequently, you are in a state of not knowing, which is the bliss of nothing. Read more about a state of not knowing here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Roughly speaking, the perception of the special self always assumes, ‘I know what it is.’ In contrast, the basic self sticks to the brain-generated perception of ‘it is what it is.’ The non-self says, ‘dunno what it is.’ Therefore, since it does not perceive the apparent differences in the experiences produced by the brain to make a difference, it is in a state of not-knowing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self constructs a perception of every experience, so it does not seem to endanger its default assumption, ‘I know what it is.’ Hence it can go on believing it masters its life, even though it does not even know what it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You feel happy when your reaction to the experiences the brain makes is perceived as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals they are twofold. Hence you are in sync with the brain’s script of duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling bad does not indicate you should do something else because you have no say in what happens – only how to perceive it. If your perception is ‘it is what it is,’ the bad feeling is complemented by a good one. Therefore, since they, as a team, define each other, you also feel good when feeling bad and vice versa. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since making a specific perception takes a long time, it is often delayed, thus out of sync with the present moment. Therefore, the frustration it entails only worsens if you try to solve it using more time to process your experience. In contrast, using the brain’s default perception, ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the present moment. Hence everything feels good.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The stories the special self makes about its greatness are not always consistent. Thus it often feels disorganised and wishes to be like those it perceives as organised. On the other hand, the basic self does not need to be anything other than in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain by perceiving its reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self does not assume that something will happen a specific way because every response to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Therefore, getting old and unable to do what it used to is as much a loss as a gain.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When every feeling is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ no emotion seems scary because they are all part of the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Perceiving a movie as cheap because it uses furniture from Ikea, you are probably out of sync with the plot. Hence the movie does not seem as entertaining as when your perception is synced with the story. However, this does not mean you must do something about your condemnation of Ikea to get in sync with the movie’s script.

All you need is to perceive your reaction to the furniture from Ikea as ‘it is what it is.’ When you do that, your response is revealed as twofold, wherefore, there is no specific reaction to prevent you from being in sync. Hence both the script and your misperception of it seem enjoyable. Likewise, when you perceive your response to the brain’s manuscript as ‘it is what it is.’

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Nobody, nor Alexius, is solely the basic self. The special self will exploit the innocence of the basic self. Fortunately, appearing special is not a problem for the basic self because it perceives its reaction to everything as ‘it is what it is.’ Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you perceive yourself as a victim of others, you are out of sync with the brain’s script because nobody causes anything but the brain, regardless it appears physical or immaterial. And everything the brain produces is out of love for everyone. Fortunately, all that is needed to correct feeling victimised is to perceive it as ‘it is what it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Triumph and disaster are not perceived as equally entertaining by the special self. Yet, that is what they are if one is perceived as ‘it is what it is’ because it reveals no triumph without disaster and vice versa.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Many try to solve the feeling of not being appreciated by finding somebody special to admire them. But maybe most try to make the feeling disappear by judging others as wrong. However, none of these methods works because feeling unwanted comes from how you assume the world should respond to you and not how it does.

The root of this misperception can be found by walking down memory lane. But it probably takes a long time, and you may miss it. Fortunately, the misperception can be corrected immediately by perceiving feeling unimportant as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that takes the distinctness out of the feeling, it does not have a specific effect on you. Therefore, the next time you, by reflex, create an attitude to disguise feeling worthless, you laugh because ‘it is what it is.’

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A straightforward way to correct your response to yourself is to perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals it is twofold. So if your single-minded reaction is that you are wrong, you see it as interacting with being right. Therefore, since you are in the duality flow, you are not defined as someone specific, nor are those you felt you had to please. Hence they, as well as you, are seen as good enough.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If memories from your childhood are the basis for your perception of a movie you watch as a grown-up, you are out of sync with its plot. Hence it seems frustrating rather than entertaining. Fortunately, this is corrected immediately if you perceive the plot, or your judgment of it, as ‘it is what it is.’

This perception makes the plot amusing no matter how it evolves because you are in sync with it as it is and not as you think it should be. Likewise, when the brain’s script is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the brain’s script contains every possible experience, you are the past, the future and everything else conceivable when synced with the brain. But you are not the formlessness of oneness because it cannot be experienced. Thus all you need to cross the apparent barrier to oneness is not to experience anything.

No compassion without brutality in duality

Fear does not prevent you from going on when in sync with the flow of thoughts. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading Duality Hack #5 The worry-free life of the basic self.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

What and where you appear to be in a computer game is designed by the game’s creator. You do not have the power to change that. But you can perceive it in sync with the plot or not. The latter is frustrating, and the former entertaining. The same applies to the tangible world, where you appear to be someone substantial. What and where you experience being is constructed by the brain. It cannot be changed – only your interpretation of it.

If that is in sync with the brain’s script, you feel entertained by going up and down. You scream of fear when going down and shout of joy when going up. One leads to the other. It is like two sides of a coin because everything comes in pairs of opposing elements in the brain’s script of duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self thinks it is the master of its reality, but it cannot make something that differs from the brain’s script because it is unchangeable. Nevertheless, the special self fools itself into believing it has created something new by assigning everything a different meaning. For example, somebody who dies is not seen as done for but as going on a new journey. If others question that, they are seen as attacking a higher truth. And if science proves this truth is wrong, the special self says their facts are a hoax.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The collaboration of the opposing sides in the duality pairs is vitalising. But since the special self excludes the dark side of the duality pairs in its perception of itself, it does not feel fulfilled by duality. However, the special self does not correct its mistake because it fears being devoured if it includes the darkness it has excluded. Thus it prefers to keep splitting the duality pairs into distinct elements to keep the darkness away, even though separation makes it suffer.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

With eyes closed, the brain may still make you see images of the world. It does not need the information from your sensory system to produce your experiences of the world like it normally claims to distract you from realising it creates all your experiences from nothing (read more about that here), including those implying you exist. Exposing the brain’s deception seems scary because it reveals you are nobody. Nevertheless, not being somebody, nobody is burdened by the brain’s deception. Thus it seems fun to appear as somebody in the brain’s world of twisting nothing in something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In a world of duality, everything comes in pairs. That is why there is no compassion without brutality and vice versa. But since they are interconnected, you neither have compassion nor brutality but their constant interaction, which is the duality flow. That is unless you separate the opposing parts of this duality pair into distinct elements that do not support but fight each other.

Have you noticed when cats do something to each other that we perceive as wonderful, suddenly they do something we perceive as horrible? However, the cats do not seem focused on the specific feelings we assign to them. Instead, they naturally go along with the interaction of opposites.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You think you are alive when the heart beats, the body breathes, and dead when it stops. But you neither live nor die. It is make-believe, like pretending to be someone in a computer game where everything is on the premises of its creator, who has set it up to entertain you. Appearing to be someone in the game of duality, the brain sets the premises. Everything is as mechanical as in a computer game, and also, like in such a game, it is about entertainment.

Therefore, going along with the brain’s game of duality, you are entertained, but going your own way by insisting on having singular feelings and opinions instead of twofold, you are disappointed, hence looking for specific solutions to cheer you up. But since anything distinct makes you feel more depressed, you are in a downward spiral of misery until you play the game of duality. In other words, you feel stuck if you exclude sadness to only have happiness. On the other hand, if you go with the interaction of sadness and happiness, you feel free.

In Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality, you can read about how playing the game of duality makes you leave it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Every experience is make-believe – just like in a role-play. However, following the instructions of the game master, it is fun being in a made-up world. Likewise, believing to be someone in a world defined by time and space is entertaining when you do not try to add or subtract something from the instructions you get from the brain.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The happiness that comes from being in sync with the brain can be compared to the joy you feel when singing along with a song you like. Conversely, not being in sync can be compared to feeling disturbed by the same music because you want to concentrate on something you see as better. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since the basic self is not exclusive, thus inclusive, and since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs of opposites, the inclusion of happiness contains sadness and vice versa. However, the special self is not inclusive but exclusive. Hence it does not experience the interaction of happiness and sadness. Besides, it is not in touch with its feelings because when it excludes hate to feel it solely loves someone, there is no hatred to define love, wherefore it becomes a mental concept.

If the intensity of a feeling surpasses the special self’s concepts, it is devastating because feelings always come in pairs to define each other as genuine. Thus the special self cannot see itself as loving by projecting its self-hatred on others. Instead, it feels the interaction of love and hate, which is seen as a disaster because it destroys its concept of romantic love.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

By suppressing the feelings you dislike, you also conceal those you like because everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. Therefore, since you always feel oppressed, you are not in touch with the present moment but planning the next one. Thus always feeling stressed, escaping the present, on the way to something better

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It takes more than one to be established as someone, so there is nobody in non-duality, nor anywhere else, because non-duality is formless, thus endless. Consequently, being someone in a world of duality is a fantasy. Should you want to participate in the fiction but not be burdened by it, you do not divide the duality pairs into distinct feelings but enjoy their interaction, thus feeling integrated with the fantasy of duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Some confuse the basic self for being Enlightened. However, since the experience of being someone is fabricated by the brain, and all experiences are erased by the Enlightenment of that which is One, what you believe in being cannot be Enlightened.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should the thoughts from the brain seem to upset you, it is not because of them but how you perceive them. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since it requires more than one to have a shape, oneness is formless, thus endless. And since it also calls for more than one to experience something, and there is no more than that which is one, the awareness of something is an illusion. However, this hallucination seems to become real when oneness is imagined being split into two, an observer and the observed because they appear to confirm the existence of each other. Hence the observer concludes that it must go on separating to be alive.

However, doing so destroys the pairs of opposites that oneness originally was split into, so each side could define the other, and their interaction would produce a whole experience of duality. Hate, for example, was paired with love to define what it is not, thus making the experience of love genuine. But when the link is broken, hate cannot outline love, wherefore it feels questionable.

That is why the observer presses on to find real love until it realises that hate and love are two sides of the same coin, wherefore you cannot have one without the other. Nor can you have peace without a fight, relief without an ache, action without inaction, perfection without imperfection, and so on.

In other words, love cannot be felt without hate, so you deceive yourself if you claim to feel only love. It is a mental concept you have plugged into that you manifest by hugging and sharing or whatever seems to establish your theoretical idea of feeling only love. Read more about that in Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the special self always feels something is missing in the present moment, it plans to get it in the future. But the same applies to the next moment. And so it goes on stressing for something to feel fulfilled.

The basic self does not get afterwards, nor before. Not because it lives in the now. It does not get that either. All it gets is the flow of thoughts from the brain, and since it makes the world it experiences, it never feels like anything is missing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Going back to the basic self appears to be the goal of many spiritual seekers. They seem to think it is without ego and therefore live in the now, come from the heart and whatnot. They are right to assume that it is not egoistic because the basic self does not establish itself as independent of the brain. But it does not know about living in the now, coming from the heart or anywhere else but the brain – like a self-driving car is managed by the internet, the brain governs it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The special self always looks for something lasting. But nothing is constant since everything has a beginning and an end in a world of duality.

Fortunately, the end is as entertaining as the beginning when your perception is synced with the brain’s script. That is why the basic self does not need something to last.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you think a car in a game like Monopoly actually can drive, your perception is out of sync with the play’s script. Consequently, the game does not seem amusing but frustrating. Likewise, if you believe what you appear to be in a world of duality is going anywhere.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being the basic self is like being in intensive care in a hospital, except you are not sick, and still, somebody watches out for you. Actually, it is the same for the special self, but contrary to the basic one, it does not enjoy that the brain takes care of it because it perceives itself as an independent being who does things in its way and pace. But that perception is even more illusionary than believing to be someone because, within this belief, everything experienced is a product of the brain, including the experience of being independent.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Whether you deny or accept the brain’s script, you are in a relationship with the brain. And since that confirms the foundation of the script, namely that there is more than that which is One, the brain is grateful. Thus it rewards you with shots of happiness. But, unfortunately, you do not notice it if you try to avoid the brain.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

For the special self, happiness comes from having the best, whereas it comes from having a perception in sync with the brain’s script for the basic self.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The brain renders a world in which there appears to be somebody who can vouch for its authenticity. In return, the world attests to the existence of the one making this confirmation. But It is all fiction, and so is the story about the brain making it because there is no more than that which is One, and it takes more than one to make or experience something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you binge-watch a TV show, you end up so blown out that there are no perceptions left but those in sync with the show’s script – like when the basic self happily participates in each episode of the adventure the brain produces.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Do not expect the basic self to have a merry-go-round life. If it had, it could not see that happiness does not come from a special set-up but from a perception in sync with the brain’s script.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you do not make up a perception that avoids, corrects or replace the brain’s script, you confirm that the brain supplies you with everything needed. Thus you feel safe.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Whether the self is perceived as basic or special, it is a fantasy put together by the brain, which seems real when a self reacts to another. But that is like concluding a dream is real because you meet someone in it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not appear in the physical world to learn something. Everything you encounter is made of empty space. The only purpose of your experiences, including those interpreted as spiritual, is to feel entertained by nothing disguised as something.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Your most defining experiences of being someone are stored in the brain. And as they constitute what you believe in being, you cannot have this belief undone without honouring the brain.

So although the experiences fabricated and stored in the brain are made from nothing, you should not dismiss them as something because they ratify the choice to establish you as someone in a world defined by time and space. If you do not acknowledge your choice, you cannot undo it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

What you appear to be, was dreamed up at the edge of a black hole through which you believed to have escaped the formlessness of non-duality. Your rebelliousness continues in a world of duality, so you do not accept everything comes in pairs of opposites. You avoid it by separating the constant interaction of opposing components into disconnected elements, not supporting but fighting each other.

If you are factual-minded, you may ask, where are the facts behind the above explanation? But there are no facts in a world of duality because it is a hallucination. Reality is non-duality which is formless, thus endless. Hence a world of duality – including Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings – is a mirage. Nevertheless, they do not try to hide that but expose the fallacy of everything experienced. That is why you can use them to realise that what and where you believe in being is nothing disguised as something.

Control is the fear of being wrong

Updated June 12, 2023

Control is the fear of not being good enough to be accepted as someone in a world of something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The wish to change ourselves often started in childhood. We quickly learned that when we changed our appearance per the expectations of our parents, they would see us as more lovable. Thus we started controlling our expressions to manipulate others into giving us more attention so that we could feel more loved. Read more about that here.

CONTROL IS THE FEAR OF NOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH
Maybe your parents wanted you to quit diapers before you had completed your toilet training. So to look like you were ready, thus getting your parent’s approval as the perfect child, you controlled your urination by tightening the muscles in the loin. But your manipulation of the body messed up its connection with the biological system. Hence the communication between the body and the brain was disrupted.

Therefore, since your body was left on its own, it tried to fix the blockage in the loin by balancing it with a new issue in the shoulder, neck or jaw. Maybe all of them, or at least the jaw, because reinforced in a forward position, you can easily maintain an appearance you imagine others will like, thus escaping feeling wrong.

But perhaps the body chose to counteract the blockage in the loin with one in the feet so that many years after, something seems wrong there. Or it might have balanced the problem with stiffness in the hands, showing up later as something you assume is caused by a smartphone or a computer.

Although you can diminish the new problems in the body via massage and acupuncture, for example, the relaxation will not last because the hardened loin needs them to balance out its problem. And the new problems need the loin to remain rigid to balance them out. That is how the body deals with its issues when the natural flow of the biological system seems suspended.

Healing the psychological part of a psychosomatic combo takes no time. All psychological feelings are fleeting, so they pass on when looked at where they are conceived in the mental sphere. You deal with the physical part by stepping back. Thus the body can heal with itself without being forced to do it per your wellness expectations. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

However, since the brain’s script is as fixed as the earth’s motion around the sun, the physical tensions in the loin mentioned above would have occurred regardless of whether you adjusted to your parents’ expectations to feel loved. But if you had not tried to hide your fear of being alone by projecting it onto the body, the tension in the loin would not have seemed to be a mix of psychological and physical issues but solely physical, thus not a mystery.

Fortunately, untangling a psychological and physical mixup is never too late. All you need is to perceive your reaction to the unrest the psychosomatic disorder seems to entail in the present as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that reveals your response is twofold, there is no specific reaction to ratify a blend of psychological and physical issues. Thus thoughts and feelings are not seen manifested in the body but abstractly in the mental sphere. Saying ‘it is what it is’ is not the same as saying, »I do not care.« That is a singular statement, so it does not undo the unfortunate belief that psychological and physical issues can be combined.

Having a satisfied body is not about how you use it but why. For example, if your reason for getting a massage is physical, your body feels revitalised. But if the reason is psychological, your body feels burdened. In other words, when the body is uninterrupted by your mental view of wellness, it feels safe. But if you inflict it with non-physical ideas of perfection, it fights your intrusion – also, if you pump it up to look better.

In Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix, you can read about how to undo the belief in a body-mind connection. Hence returning to a happy relationship with the body, similar to the relationship you have with the clothes you wear, not assuming they wrinkle because of something you feel or think but because that is how they are built.

However, there is a shortcut you can use immediately to undo your mental invasion of the body, namely, apologise for misusing it to manifest mental ideas of wholeness.

Everything always goes your way. If it does not seem so, you are not going your way. That does not mean you are going the wrong way. It is not possible. But it is possible to perceive the way so that it is out of sync with your nature. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

YOU CANNOT BE WRONG BECAUSE THAT TAKES MORE THAN ONE
The above explanation of cause and effect is not entirely correct. Nothing adds up in a world where there seems to be more than one because there is no more than that which is one since it is formless, thus endless. That is what the explanations in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are meant to illustrate. And that is why they only work when used to expose more than one as fantasy.

This explanation is also fictional because nobody makes or has the fantasy of more than One because it requires more than one. So ultimately speaking, it does not matter if you are in sync with the brain’s script, thus feeling connected, or you perceive it to appear more exceptional than designed, thus not in sync and, therefore, feeling disconnected.

However, in the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, everything seems much more manageable when one’s perception is in sync with the brain’s script, thus being a basic self. That requires no effort. But seeking out specific thoughts to create a particular image of yourself is stressful because it makes the thoughts scamper and fight each other. Hence the special self concludes it is best to get rid of some or all thoughts or at least slow them down via meditation or something else that supports the idea of being in control.

But that enhances the problem: the special self perceives itself as the master and the brain as its servant. It is the other way around. Therefore if the special self honours the brain by perceiving its experiences as they are and not as they should be according to the special self, the few thoughts required for having a perception in sync with the brain are unnoticed.

In constant interaction of opposites

Updated July 3, 2023

Like a self-driving car needs instructions from the internet about where to go, a human entirely relies on the brain. All impulses come from there, and all experiences, whether they seem yours or others, physical or spiritual. So unless you perceive yourself as independent of the brain, you are automatically connected with everything you experience, thus feeling fulfilled. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you benefit from reading Duality Hack #5 The worry-free life of the basic self.

GOING UP AND DOWN, THUS FEELING COMPLETE
The thoughts the basic self receives from the brain are tailored to its specific personality. For example, Alexius has a storeroom manager personality with touches of scholastic and academician traits (read more about that here). So whether he outlines Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings into duality hacks or organises his music into particular groups, he is in sync with the brain’s script.

There is nothing magic about following the GPS instructions when driving a car, nor about following the instructions of the brain when moving the body. It is as easy as pie when your perception is in sync with the thoughts coming from the brain.

When Alexius lost his business, wife and house, he moved to a tiny room with a new girlfriend. But soon, he lost her too. However, since the subsequent sadness was perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ he did not say no but yes to how the brain’s script worked out for him. Thus he was in touch with the happiness the brain shared with him continually. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Before Alexius started writing the duality hacks, he seemed scripted to go bankrupt with the businesses he had owned for many years. He did that without perceiving it as unjust but as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that perception is in sync with the brain’s script, going down felt as entertaining as going up – like being on a rollercoaster (read more about that here).

However, if he had tried to be detached from going under, he could not have perceived it as ‘it is what it is’, thus not feeling amused by the low down and high interaction and therefore out of sync with the brain’s script. Being in sync with that is not a matter of siding with it but perceiving your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ By doing that, all your single-minded feelings are revealed as twofold, wherefore you are in sync with the brain’s script of twofoldness, thus feeling fulfilled by the duality flow. See hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Believing to be somebody, you are either the basic or special self. If the brain’s script is perceived as it is, you are the basic self. But when the perception rest on how the script should be, you appear to know better, thus being a special self.

Nevertheless, the brain’s script goes on unaffected by your perception – just like the captain an aeroplane on its way to Spain continues as scheduled regardless of your perception of the flight.

But suppose the consciousness that the brain has built into the self goes rogue and insists on having specific feelings, such as being happy, not sad. In that case, the special self tries to manifest that by making a perception of the script based on a philosophy that separates happiness and sadness. However, since this perception is out of sync with the script, no matter how beautiful a picture your philosophy paints of the world, it does not make you genuinely happy because, without sadness, the happiness you believe in feeling is thought up.

It requires no effort for the basic self to be happy, whereas it takes much work for the special self to get a taste of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

To hide this deception, some meet in groups to establish their conceptualised feelings as genuine. For example, in a small group worshipping someone who promises eternal happiness without sadness. Or in a big group like a country, following established concepts to get happy by doing the right thing.

But since every group is based on refusing the wrong ones, the members who do not rule out others per the group’s agreed concepts are seen as traitors. Hence they are banned from the group until they revert to its concepts and reject everything that defies the group. Some may choose to start a new group instead.

Although the basic self has no need to follow a specific concept, it may have to show off as single-minded to function in the conceptualised world around it. But internally, it is free to follow the duality flow. Hence it is close to the perception ‘dunno what it is,’ thus the bliss of nothing. However, that does not mean it is Enlightened. On the contrary, no kind of self-awareness survives the Enlightenment of that which is One (read more about that here).

If you are scripted to jog every second day, you cannot push yourself to run every day  – like a movie goes forward as scripted regardless of how much you want to speed it up. However, being in sync with the brain’s script does not mean you have to stop wishing it was different, but that you perceive your reaction to the discrepancy as ‘it is what it is.’ When you do that, everything feels good enough as it is.

Whether your perception is in sync with the brain’s script, you cannot plan for something not scripted to happen. Fortunately, there is no urge to plan anything when your perception is synced with the script. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen

IN THE FLEETING MOMENTS
If you perceive the sun to go up and down, your perception is out of sync with the brain’s script because the sun does not go up and down. Instead, what and where you believe in being is moving very fast.

When your perception is synced with the speed of the Earth, you feel calm inside while racing outside.

Therefore, your perception is not coordinated with what is happening, namely that your feet are spinning at around 1.000 miles an hour while the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. That is why you do not feel the thrill of moving at this high rate, but the depression from a static perception founded on insecurity.

This stagnant perception, which society supports, is meant to make you think that fulfilment does not come from not resonating with the present movement as it is but a slowed-down version. Read more about that here. Hence, you have time to compose a perception of yourself as powerful, humble, balanced, active or whatever you reckon makes you secure.

But there is no time to make up such a perception when feeling the pulsation of the moment, nor is there any need to do that because the body shivers with ecstasy as if shaken by an earthquake of tenderness. The Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk takes you there by playing extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, producing overtones so trance-inducing that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it.

However, the special self avoids speediness because it needs time to control its appearance to look balanced. Hence it meditates or does something else to slow things down so it has time to make a static perception of itself.

Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

IN THE DUALITY FLOW
Fortunately, you do not have to listen to Lubomyr Melnyk or sense the speed of the Earth to be in sync with the present’s movement. All you have to do is go with the duality flow. See Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality. This hack (#6) is about getting into the duality flow by perceiving your single-minded reaction to the moment as ‘it is what it is.’ It reveals your response is not singular but twofold, consisting of opposing elements constantly interacting, wherefore you are vitalised by the duality flow.

In other words, instead of hanging onto being specifically happy, for example, you go with the interaction of happiness and sadness, thus neither being happy nor sad, but in their constant interaction, which means you are in sync with the speed of the present. It also means the specific mood, previously used to provide a sense of safety, cannot be recalled as everything is twofold.

However, that does not mean you have lost anything because your favourite mood always interacted with its complementary part. Therefore, since you are in the duality flow when not suppressing the constant interaction of opposites, and since everything has an end in duality, it is bound to disappear and leave nothing but non-duality.

NOTES ABOUT NOTHING

  • No matter how you experience the appearances on a computer screen and where you believe the experience comes from, what you experience is not there. Every part of it is a computer-generated simulation, and it only seems real because you want to perceive it like that.
  • A dream is a construction of nothing that never leaves the dreamer, although it seems to happen in a world outside of it. Likewise, the self and the world that appears to be outside of it is a construction of nothing that never leaves the brain, regardless of what and where the self believes in being.

Happiness is to be in touch with the brain

Updated July 6, 2023

What you believe in being can be compared to a smartphone. Although it can do thousands of things, it depends entirely on its operator – just like you do on the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

ENJOYING THOUGHTS IS ENJOYING YOURSELF
Even though the brain deceives you by making experiences that appear to establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world, it is not your enemy. On the contrary, the brain wants to make you happy. If that is not how you feel, you have most likely disassociated yourself from the brain’s experiences by not perceiving them as they are but how they could be, per a philosophy imagined to make the world better than the brain’s.

But since everything in this perception revolves around you knowing better than the brain, and since you do not know who you are, it is hard work to make it look like you, not the brain, knows what is best. Therefore, you meditate or force your body into strange positions to cut off the brain to free yourself from its perceived tyranny and be connected with your real self.

However, there is nothing but the self that the brain has invented and implemented with consciousness to perceive the experiences the brain fabricates from nothing as something, so the self seems to be somebody in a tangible world. Therefore, since every experience is a fantasy of the brain, there is nothing to experience, neither mundane nor spiritual, when not living by the brain.

Although the basic self feels free to follow the brain and the special self believes it is free from it, none is free. The brain processes all experiences, also those believed to come from the heart, higher consciousness and whatnot, so we are a product of the brain. The special self denies it and opposes the brain. But what you fight, you need. On the other hand, the basic self does not hide its brain dependency but happily counts on it.

You are in the brain’s domain when experiencing something because it produces all experiences. Therefore, since the brain loves you, the thoughts it makes do not trouble but soothe you when in touch with the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

No worries, since not living by the brain is an experience, you still live by it if you think you are free of it. Therefore, since the brain gets what it wants, namely that although its experiences are made from nothing, you ratify them as something, thus making the brain real. This makes it so happy that it wants to share it with you to make you feel alive. But unfortunately, most people do not notice the happiness the brain shares with them because they want to be free from it to do things in their own way and time.

But since that never works as planned, they have to make it look like it does by excluding everything from their awareness that does not support the idea of being in control. However, since exclusion enhances separation, they feel disconnected. Fortunately, the mistake is easily undone. If you acknowledge feeling separated, you can perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ And since that reveals separation contains union, feeling united is all there is until separation quickly returns to be replaced by united shortly afterwards. In this teamwork of opposites, you stop feeling them specifically and start sensing their interaction: the duality flow.

Therefore, you feel complete since you are in sync with the brain’s script of duality. Read more about the perception it is what it is’ in I know what it is’ vs ‘it is what it is’ vs ‘dunno what it is and the duality flow in Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Watching TV series, you do not have to do anyhing to be engaged other than perceiving it by its plot. It makes you feel so entertained that you forget yourself. Likewise, in daily life when you perceive the brain’s script ‘it is what it is’ and not as it should be.

The brain’s script is neither logical, rational, nor consistent. But when your perception remains in sync with it, you feel as blown out as after binge-watching a TV show, thus feeling free. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

BLOWN OUT BY THE BRAIN
Being in touch with the natural flow of thoughts from the brain can be compared to being in sync with the plot of a movie. It is easy because the film contains hints about how to perceive it.

For example, the director has added emotional music to manipulate you into interpreting the movie per its script. And the bad guys arrive in black, which in the Western world is associated with evil. But suppose you doubt this meaning and try to construct a better one based on concepts unrelated to the film. Then, since you break up the story, you do not feel entertained but bored by the movie.

In other words, nothing feels entertaining if you think you know better than the director and keep imagining how the movie could have been if edited per socialism or another ism you believe in making the world better. In that case, you only feel entertained by the specific parts of the movie perceived as aligned with your ism.

On the other hand, when you do not question the movie’s storyline but jump into the adventure as it is, you feel linked with the whole film – likewise, accepting the brain’s story of duality, you feel connected.

In roleplay, you can become anyone you like. However, everyone is predefined by the gamemaster, so you must act accordingly. Also, in the game of duality. You are never your own but the brain’s, because it is the gamemaster.Fortunately, that does not mean you must like the brain’s script. You can perceive it as you like. However, you do not feel connected if your perception does not align with the script but how it could  be.

No matter what way you go and why you reckon to do it, the reason is that the brain has told you to do it. Therefore, having a perception in sync with the brain’s playbook, obstacles along the way add to the entertainment. But having made a perception where you are in charge, you are out of touch with the brain, so the same obstacles add to the stress you feel from having to do everything yourself. TAKING A BREAK FROM THE BRAIN
Should you want to take a break from the brain’s script of duality, all you need is to not be in sync with it. But not like the special self who revolts against it, thus depends upon it.

To be free of the script of duality, you ignore it by not making a statement like the special self who says, ‘I know what it is.’ Nor do you, like the basic self, declare ‘it is what it is,’ but gently say ‘dunno what it is.’ Since the brain’s script of duality is unconfirmed, you enter a state of not-knowing, where the slate is wiped clean. Hence you return to the consciousness of duality as the basic self, feeling happy to be with your best friend, the brain. Read more about that in A state of not-knowing and the after-effect.
