What is unreal is right in front of you

Updated August 21, 2022

A world of duality can be compared to what comes out of the box in the Augmented Hand Series. When you stick your hand into it, an app changes the hand on the screen, and the brain fools you into feeling it happens to you.

DUALITY IS A SIMULATION:
Even though a fairy tale is built with elements from the physical world, there is nothing material in the tale. Everything is a simulation fabricated by a writer. The characters have no free will. They cannot leave the story and be part of the physical world because they are not physical but symbols of it.

A world of duality can be compared to a fairy tale. Nothing is real and never will be, whether you believe in living in the now, coming from the heart or whatnot. The Augmented Hand Series called Flong by Golan Levin and Collaborators illustrates this through interactive art.

In the Augmented Hand Series you can watch your hand take on a life of its own. Here your fingers grow to varying lengths.

In the Augmented Hand Series, you can watch your hand take on a life of its own. Here your fingers grow to varying lengths.

When you stick your hand in a small box – see the above animation – you see it moving on a screen beyond your control. Instead, the hand is controlled by a preprogrammed app to change the length of your fingers.

The small box and the screen on top create a disconnect between what the eye sees, the body feels and the brain processes. Some even look into the box to check if what they see on the screen happens to their hand because, even though the hand on the screen is not part of them, the brain tells them to believe it is.

It is impossible, but yet you feel it is happening.

These movements are not possible. Yet you feel it is happening to your hand – like you feel duality is happening, although it is impossible because non-duality is formless, thus endless.

Likewise, a world of duality is a simulation. Nothing happens in it. But it feels so because you, metaphorically speaking, have put non-duality in a small box, where an app called the brain twists it into a world of duality. Since it is an illusion, it is only the belief that it is real that needs to stop. You can do this by interpreting every experience of duality as a symbol of non-duality. Therefore, since your apparent different experiences do not seem to make a difference, there is no separation, thus no duality to distract you from non-duality.

THERE IS NO SELF:
Believing in being an individual in charge of its life can be compared to a machine that thinks it has a self, deciding what to do. There is no ‘I’, self, or soul in a machine. It is all mechanics, and even though the device may have been built with AI (artificial intelligence), it cannot think itself. All thoughts are preprogrammed possibilities. Nobody makes them, and nobody sees what the machine claims to see.

If you are visual-minded, you may have an Aha! moment seeing the below screen dumps from an article in Wired. They illustrate how a machine with AI ‘sees’ the world. It simply registers data or frequencies by how it is programmed. The captions are not from that article but from Alexius.

The machine has been programmed to perceive this point of frequency as cute, so it searches its database for an image to illustrate this.

The machine translates this point of frequency as eyes and concludes it sees the cute image that has been fabricated based on the info from its database.

Founded on past decisions, the machine reckons the cute image consists of a dog.

But it also seems to see a female. Thus it has to search its database to know if it is the female or the dog that is cute so that the appropriate feeling can be fabricated.

NOTES:

All experiences are equally unreal

Updated September 7, 2022

The experience of seeing this pic is as all other experiences – including so-called spiritual ones – fabricated in the brain. Nothing real is fabricated, but that which is real can be used to imagine a fabricated reality. Though that which is real is not in the simulation, the reason the simulation seems to be there is that which is real. Therefore everything in the simulated world of duality can be seen as symbols of that which is real.

The experience of this image is like any other experiences – including those considered spiritual – fabricated by the brain. It simulates a world where there seems to be more than one to hide that there is no more than that which is one. However, this sham symbolises that which is one because it is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing else to pull a hoax. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The experience of god and other spiritual concepts are fabrications manufactured by the brain. Like mundane experiences, they can be measured physically. The idea of you being someone definitive in a body governed by a self is also fabricated by the brain, which is nothing more than a labyrinth of fat and synapses that pass electrical signals from cell to cell. In other words, whether you perceive your experiences as ordinary or spiritual, they are fabricated by electrical impulses in the brain (read more about that here).

»When you dig into molecules, and the states of ion channels, enzymes, transcription programs, cells, synapses, and whole networks of neurons, you come to realise that there is no one place in the brain where memories are stored,« says Kukushkin. »This is because of a property called plasticity, the feature of neurons that memorize. The memory is the system itself.« From an article in Wired.

Trying to collect bits and pieces from n after image of a universe, that is no more.

THE AFTERIMAGE
Everything you think and do was set in motion millions of years ago. It could be predicted then because, in non-linear time, the world’s birth and death appear simultaneously. Therefore, since the entire story of the universe starts and ends at the same moment, the universe is not there.

However, you hang onto remaining data or fragments from an afterimage of the world. Actually, what you believe in being is nothing but disintegrated pieces of honeycombed memories. To make sense of these fractured bits, you try to fill the gaps with concepts of love, god and other lofty theories.

Holding onto after images.

Hanging onto after images is like hanging onto fragments of a dream, or memories of a dead spouse. You can compare this to having an app, that has collected everything your beloved ever has said on social media, so you can use it in an internal dialogue with her to feel she is alive.

She answers you in the way you are accustomed to and use info from, for example, Wikipedia, so the chat does not seem dated. Maybe the app also is able to collect all her telephone conversations and put fragments of it together in such a way, that it seems you have a real conversation with a live person – though that person has no mouth and is nothing but data collected from the Cloud.

The skin has been texture-mapped.

The skin has been texture-mapped. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

She may even be reconstructed as a robot implemented with artificial intelligence, texture-mapped with skin constructed simolar to the best looking photos from the past. Thus you can relive your finest memories of being together. Maybe spiced up with with kinky sex based on pornographic videos from the internet.

Once in a while, when the robot fails to act out your memories, you may freak out and suspect something is wrong. Nevertheless, you go on because, even if it is not real, what you get feels better than reality.

WHATEVER YOU DO, FEELS FINE WHEN SEEN AS A SYMBOL OF REALITY
A single part of the brain processes perceived reality in the present moment and memories plus imagined states, symbols and metaphors. Thus, to the brain, there is no difference between what is perceived as real and imaginary, spiritual and whatnot.

As you can read in the article from Wired mentioned above, the experiences processed by the brain are not stored in the brain, but they are the brain. Thus what and where you appear to be is in the brain. This is why it is said that the world is in the eye of the beholder.

Just like all appearances in a dream are illusions symbolising the dreamer’s world, everything in the world are illusions symbolising that which is real, namely that which is One.

You cannot do anything wrong when perceiving everything as a symbol of oneness because doing something wrong is also a symbol of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In other words, everything experienced is make-believe, which is why you cannot know reality, find the truth or realise that which is you. But you can discover what you are not by perceiving your appearance as a symbol of that which is real. Thus you are free to enjoy spiritual experiences of inner peace or the excitement of football as a symbol of reality, which is oneness since it is formless, thus endless. No special steps or philosophy are required for this because whatever you do is a symbol of reality.

»After a short, productive explosion of early activity, the universe has begun its long mope towards oblivion. To the extent that anything was ever important, it won’t be. Time, space, energy, matter – all gone … That’s right: Everything you know and love, the entire universe of possible things, will be gone.« from the article The End of the Universe published in Wired.

NOTES:

  • An episode of Black Mirror called Be Right Back inspired the box about after images. And the concept of ‘hanging onto some remaining data or fragments’ is inspired by the movie Source Code. The scientific info about the brain Alexius has found here and there, so the article is the usual mismatch the brain likes to combine to make an illusion that feels amusing. But the experience of this specific illusion can be beneficial in seeing that all experiences, whether they appear mundane or spiritual, are make-believe.

When too many clothes are added to the body, it appears to be hidden. But it is still there. Actually, it is what makes the clothes appear to move. A body with many layers of clothes can be compared to a world where there seems to be more than one. The diversity of appearances seems to hide there is no more than that which is One and, therefore, choices to be made.

As long as it seems so, one recommended choice is to see everything in a world where there seems to be more than one as a symbol of that which is One. You do not need to make more choices when this is your choice because they are all a symbol of oneness. Thus the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One will be undone.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A microphone can amplify the voice, but whether someone sings loud or not, nothing changes in the microphone.

A microphone can amplify a voice. However, the microphone remains the same no matter what voice it amplifies. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Oneness can be compared to a computer. No matter how much music you add and whether it is pirated or not, the computer remains the same. Also, if you share the music with others or delete it. Nothing has changed. A world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to the music that appears to come from a computer. In reality, the world is not there, and no matter.

Likewise, what and where you appear to be in a world where there seems to be more than one, nothing changes that which is real, namely oneness. But since oneness is formless, you cannot take anything away or create something from it. Therefore, since a world where there seems to be more than one is a fantasy, what and where you appear to be symbolises that which makes it possible to fantasise.

The above is not meant to say that it does not matter what music you prefer and who you share it with when you seem to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. Because when you honour your choice of being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, you can undo it. For example, by perceiving all experiences as symbols of oneness. By doing that, everything becomes abstract. Thus you are on a non-definable way to the formlessness of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot change this cat in this pic, but you can change your perception of it.

You cannot change the cat’s look in this image, but you can change your perception of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Alexius has a machine that feeds his cats with specific amounts of food at certain times. They are mistaken if the cats think the food arrives there due to prayers or good behaviour. It is automatic, and the machine is unaffected no matter how they treat Alexius. Likewise, regarding what seems to happen with you are in a world to be defined by time and space.

You do not reap what you sow. You have no say in what will happen. Like in a computer game, nothing can happen that has not already been programmed. So if you seem to reap as you sow, this is just the way it has been planned. Read more about that in hack #4.2 The brains script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

You cannot change the script. But you can change how to perceive it. For example, you can choose to perceive something as karma, the way of love or lessons to learn. However, perceptions like these will uphold the belief in being someone defined by time and space. And believing that you are bound to end.

However, if you can choose to perceive your appearance and any other as a symbol of the formlessness of oneness, all appearances seem the same, though they appear to be different. When there is no difference, there is no space separating anything. Thus there is nothing and, therefore, not something to end. So even though the appearance of you as someone definitive ends, nothing ends.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world defined by time and space is nothing but empty space in which thoughts are constructed to appear substantial. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

You have no power to change anything that seems to happen on a TV. The only control you have is to turn off the TV. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Whether you experience having the power of now or any other kind of power, it is an illusion. The only thing you can do is turn off the belief in being and having more than that which is One. An easy way to do this is to perceive all experiences as a symbol of that which makes it possible to see them, namely that which is one. By doing that, the symbols fade away while you have fun exploring them. Eventually, there does not appear to be any symbols hiding what they symbolise.

This article is part of hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life.

Ultimately speaking, there are no choices to make because there is no more than that which is One. But believing to be in a world where there seems to be more than one, you must constantly choose between something to make it seem there is more than one.

From non-duality to duality and back (in the process of being updated)

Updated September 11, 2022

It is not possible to drink the water from the bottle in this pic, because the bottle is a simulation – but it is possible to imagine to drink the water. The imagination will never quench your thirst though.

It is impossible to drink from the bottles in this image because it is a simulation. Likewise, it is impossible to be fulfilled in a world where there seems to be more than one. It is simulated because there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THAT WHICH IS ONE
… is no different from the formlessness of that which is you. But as formlessness has no size, it is nothing. Yet, it is also everything because formlessness is endless. In other words, there is no more than the formlessness of oneness, also called non-duality.

Schräge Parallelen

Nothing in a world where there seems to be more than one is what is seems to be. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since it takes more than one to see something, you have tricked yourself into beliving you are in a world where there seems to be more than one. You probably also have tricked yourself into seeing the red lines in this image as crokked, when, actually, all lines are straight, and it is the blue boxes that are offset.

WHAT IF THAT WHICH IS ONE …
… could be divided into more than one? It is impossible. Firstly, because it is formless. Secondly, its speed is infinitely fast. Hence there is no time and space to differentiate anything. Nevertheless, it seems possible to imagine slowing down its speed until it is so slow that there appear to be separated appearances in the distance.

Screen Shot 2014-11-28 at 16.21.07

The still photo of Scarlett Johansson in ‘Lucy’ is grabbed from the internet.

Think of the movie Lucy, where Luc Besson via Scarlett Johansson demonstrates that if you speed up time infinitely, any object in motion disappears – or in the context of this article, becomes one. A world where there seems to be more than one is a reverse example. A slowed-down movie of oneness, you could say.

One of these separated appearances in the distance is imagined to be you. But you and everything else are as flat as this article’s images because formlessness has no dimensions. However, when the formlessness of oneness is observed from different angles and distances, it appears to get smaller and bigger. Therefore, since it seems to exist in time and space, you conclude you are someone substantial in a tangible world.

Graphic by Clive Gifford. The book ‘Eye Benders: The Science of Seeing and Believing’ written by Clive Gifford explains, the brain sees movements that do not exist, and it also fabricates images to fill what it perceives as gaps in the world. Read more about that here.

In short, the experience of being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one comes from an imagined slowed-down version of oneness, layered on top of oneness to hide that there is no more than that which is One. Read more about that here. The purpose is to feel entertained by the illusion of more than one. See hack #4.2 The brains script and how to perceive it to feel happy. It is a bit like the excitement you get when AR (augmented reality) modifies the physical world and builds a layer on top of it, so a simulation of the physical world is mixed with the actual physical world.

You probably experience, that you see two differently sized orange circles in this pic, because that is what the part of the brain, that measures perspective and scale, will tell you. Due to the blue circles it appear as they are not the same size. But you are wrong. Each orange circle is the same size. You are also wrong, if you think persons are different, and that they are in a world of duality. It is an illusion. Everything is sizeless.

You probably experience two differently sized orange circles in this image because that is what the part of the brain that measures perspective and scale will tell. Due to the blue circles, it appears that the orange circles are not the same size. But you are mistaken. Each orange circle has the same size. You are also mistaken if you experience a world of different-sized objects. It is an illusion. That which is real is formless. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

When writing this article, the most well-known AR (augmented reality) example is Google glasses. A digital simulation of the physical world is mixed with the actual physical world via the internet. You can read about another kind of AR glasses, changing your appearance, in the article What is unreal, is right in front of you.

Since then, Pokémon Go has become the most well-known example of AR. But many people live in augmented reality not only when playing Pokémon Go. They look at their smartphone, where a layer of digital info flows on top of the physical world, while they hear music from cyberspace in one ear and listen to friends from the physical world with the other ear.

This image consists solely of pixels added in different combinations to make you see something that is not there. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Integtating the body with an imagined god or superworld has been a longtime human fantasy. Imaginative fiction, transcendental meditation, aura-transformation and psychoactive drugs can be seen as early efforts to trick you into assuming, the body can be integrated with something immaterial. VR (virtual reality), as it is envisioned by Oculus Rift, may be able to fool you into beliving such a blend is real.

THAT WHICH IS ONE IS REPLACED BY MORE THAN ONE
The first step away from that which is One to a world where there seems to be more than one can be compared to AR (augmented reality), which is a mix of real and unreal. The second step can be compared to VR (virtual reality), where an illusion replaces reality. Yet, the delusion that seems to replace reality can only be experienced due to it.

In a virtual world everything seems possible. It feels very exciting, even though it is an illusion. What you get is nothing. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

»This (virtual reality) is a state where you are totally transported into another world and immersed in the digital interactions of the virtual environment you’ve entered … the feeling that you are truly visiting another space that is wholly distinct from what you can see and hear without the platform … a platform like Oculus Rift is an alternative to reality, supplying entirely new, virtual experiences: true VR.« From Wired.

Why do we choose to appear as somebody definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one when that which is we are is oneness. Because it seems exciting to be and have more than that which is One.

There is so much to experience In a world where there seems to be more than one. However, it comes with a price because such a world – contrary to that which is One – is built of contrasts, so you cannot have happiness without sadness, for example.

A person always find ways to deny or change appearances in the world that is judged to be wrong, so that it appears to better. But no matter how happy being better may seem to make you, you cannot escape its contrast, sadness, because happiness cannot be experienced without it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A person always finds ways to deny or change appearances that are judged wrong so that it seems to have become better. But no matter how happy it makes you feel, its contrast, sadness, cannot be escaped because happiness cannot be known without it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen

Most assume they can surpass this twofoldness and be in one state of mind by recollecting memories of oneness. But they have been changed by the desire for more than one, so they do not bring one state of mind. Thus many conclude there are levels of consciousness leading to oneness. But nothing leads to it. Besides, there is no oneness in a world where there seems to be more than one. Its reality is twofoldness – the interaction of opposing elements – is the reality. For example, you can only read this when white or something else opposing black contrasts the black letters. Read more about that here.

And you cannot exclude hate only to be in a singular state of love. Doing that results in imitated love because there is no love without hate. Therefore, since excluding hate makes you feel phoney, you try to make love purer by excluding selfishness to get unconditional love. But again, you get a feeling of being wrong – and on it goes.

You never feel good enough because your whole being is based on avoiding twofoldness to feel you are at one. However, there is no oneness in a world where there seems to be more than one. Such a world is based on the interaction of opposing elements. Going with them, you do not feel something is missing. Therefore, since someday, the need for more is gone, wherefore the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one does not seem to hide there is no more than that which is One. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Following the duality flow to non-duality is a process. But if you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, it takes no time.

Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Alexius knows there is nothing to hope for because there is no more than that which is One, and it takes more than one to hope for something. Thus he has nothing to fear. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE UNDOES THE BELIEF IN MORE
One who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is one knows that there is no more than oneness, wherefore a world where there seems to be more than one is fake. Nobody else knows it. What they believe to know is based on speculations about their existence in a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus it enhances the belief in being there instead of undoing it.

Believing that a world where there seems to be more than one is real is to be compared to sitting in a cinema, where you project yourself onto the world on the screen so that it appears to have an effect on you, thus experienced as real.

A world where there seems to be more than one can be compared to the movie roll in a cinema. Suddenly it breaks, wherefore there is nothing but bright white light on the screen. Read more about this metaphor here. This is the Enlightenment, which Alexius is to be compared to. It is not something that you see because it is the Enlightenment of that which is One, and it takes more than one to be aware of something.

When the movie roll is put together, and Alexius appears in the simulated world on the screen again, the Enlightenment of that which is One has not turned him into a wiser man or changed anything in the world. But he knows that the world is an illusion that can only be experienced due to oneness. More about that in hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

The animation is grabbed from the web.

If everything you see is perceived to be symbols of that which cannot be seen, namely the formlessness of that which is One, the apparent difference between happiness and sadness does not make a difference. Thus you enjoy them both. The animation is grabbed from Ello.

TO SEE SYMBOLS OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IN THAT WHICH IS NOT ONE
Even though you may have been told that a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion, your conditioned belief in such a world compulsively makes you see more than one.

You can undo this belief in a laid-back way by perceiving what you see as symbols of that which is One. Actually, all of Alexius’ Duality Hacks, except the Enlightenment of that which is Oneundo the belief in being and having more than one over time while enjoying that belief.

That which is one cannot be known in a world where there seems to be more than one – neither anywhere else, as it takes more than one to be aware of something. So rather than pointing to that which is One, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings point out that there is no more than that which is one.

A SYMBOL OF ONENENESS TURNS THE MOMENT INTO A PERFECT MOMENT
If you perceive everything as symbols of oneness, there is no separation to hide that which is One when. But since you do probably do that little by little, and since you cannot get fragment of oneness, you get a taste of it. Therefore, every time you perceive something as a symbol of oneness you are pulled into the perfect moment.

If you have conditioned yourself within the concepts of living in the now, you may think a perfect moment is a point squeezed in between the past and the future. However, this idea of living in the now is based on exclusion, whereas a perfect moment is inclusive and therefore includes both the past and the future. A perfect moment may last a split second, or as long as a kiss lasts, or a daydream lasts. There are no rules but to be inclusive. Should you forget that, you just include your forgetfulness.

A perfect moment has no limitations, contrary to the popular idea of living in the now, which is something you forever can try to achieve but never obtain, as it is based on having to keep on excluding the past and the future.

A perfect moment can last a split second while you say »A ha,« – or it can last an hour while you have a daydream about tomorrow or the whole night being with your lover. It includes the past as well as the future as long as it is perceived as a symbol of oneness.

In a perfect moment, anger is not a disturbing feeling, pushed away into the dark. Instead, it is taken into the light, so the hidden memories of the past that seemed to have caused it is no more. Not by going back into the past to fix it, neither by denying it, but by including the pain and anger of the past as it is experienced in the present.

Any thought or feeling passing by is part of the totality that makes a perfect moment. It is not flawless like a music video, though. There are ups and downs, but they are comparable to the thrill of riding up and down on a roller coaster.

A perfect moment though is not a sensation like falling in love but rather the relief of not being exclusive, as that means problems vanish. This is not limited to the period called now.

If you have an expectation of a perfect moment, it will not be perfect until the expectation and its opposite – desperation – are included exactly as they appear to you. And as said in the previous articles, inclusion is not to exclude, so when desperation is not excluded in an attempt to enjoy the thrill of expectation, it is included.

Every moment is the perfect moment. Nothing is wrong or missing when it is perceived as a symbol of oneness.

There is no more than the formlessness of oneness since it is formless and therefore endless. Thus a world where there seems to be more than one is not real, regardless of how the moment appears to be. However, while you seem to be someone in a virtual world, it feels better to have a perfect moment.

To stop or to control thoughts is not the way to a perfect moment but numbness. The inclusion of confusion and uncertainty but most of all, the extreme speed of thoughts leads to a perfect moment. When everything is fast-moving, the mind does not have the time to divide everything into categories.

Well, anything that is devoid of what you have defined as meaningful leads to a perfect moment. Therefore, if you do not try to express yourself as someone significant, you will be meaningless, so every moment is perfect!

The idea about living in the now is, like most so-called spiritual ideas, based on exclusion. Hence the belief in separation is enhanced. In this case, the past and future are excluded to highlight a separate point in between them called now. On the other hand, a perfect moment is not based on separation. It includes any memory of the past and expectations of the future. It has no rules but to be inclusive, which you automatically are when not exclusive.

If you have an expectation of a perfect moment, it will not be perfect until the expectation and its opposite – desperation – are included exactly as they appear to you.

Life’s formlessness includes everything because formlessness is endless, so there is nothing but that. Since a perfect moment is inclusive, it confirms the formlessness of life, whereas living in the now denies it, as it excludes thoughts of the perceived future and past.

A perfect moment can last the whole hour you bravely make your way through bushes of thorny lianas, or the second you feel the horror of going through thorny bushes replaced with the relief of getting out, or the minutes you see a helicopter circling to find you. Or a whole day where you forget everything about the perfect moment and hate the rainforest.

Any thought or feeling passing by is part of the totality that makes a perfect moment. It is not flawless like a music video, though. There are ups and downs, but they are comparable to the thrill of riding up and down on a roller coaster.

THE WORLD IN A GAME IS VIRTUAL AND ONLY APPEARS TO EXIST WHEN YOU PLAY IT
A virtual reality game player is often nauseous because the body is tricked into believing it moves in the virtual world. But you are not there even though it feels like you are fighting for your life. Actually, you are sitting in a chair with your eyes covered by a set of goggles. An app fills it with a simulated world, and per your response, it seems to create feelings in you as if you are in the real world.

If you, in this description, replace the app with the brain, it becomes a description of appearing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, where you always feel a bit off because you are not there. Nevertheless, it is possible to feel good while you experience more than one when you know it is an illusion. However, there is nothing real in a virtual world, so do not mistake this article for the truth, but merely a suggestion to take off the goggles simulating a world that is not there. Of course, this is a metaphor. That which is One is not covered by a simulated world but the belief that there is more than that which is One.

THAT WHICH IS ONE IS ONE
When you return to oneness, everything is the same. It is as if you have been there all the time, which you also have because there is no more than that which is One. Thus the phrase ‘when you return to oneness’ is a metaphor. In reality, you have never left it.

If you experience a flow of beauty, love, sex or colors in this pic totally depends on the perception you have fabricated of yourself as a person. But no matter what you perceive, if you include it all, the moment of watching this pic is perfect – nothing is wrong or missing. Consequently you need no more and therefore are ready for that which is one.

Whether you experience love, sex, or the beauty of a sunset in this image totally depends on how you have conditioned yourself. But no matter how you experience it, if it is perceived as a symbol of oneness, the moment of experiencing this image is perfect – nothing is wrong or missing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Persons can be compared to The Internet of Things, where machines communicate with each other according to how they are programmed.

Persons can be compared to the machines on ‘Internet of Things,’ which can communicate with each other according to their programming.

In the previous article, What is life, where does it come from, and what is the meaning, you got no answer to those questions. This is because life is that which is One, and it takes more than one to explain something. Nevertheless, in this article, there are some explanations of the unexplainable, namely that you appear to be in a world where there seems to be more than one when there is nothing but that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

The ideas of IOT, an abbreviation for Internet of Things, are used to show how the appearance of you as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is comparable to a machine hooked up to a network like the web.

WHAT IS IOT (INTERNET OF THINGS)?
As the name suggests, IOT is the internet used by humans and things. The latter can be refrigerators, washing machines, or children’s toys connected via the internet. But it can also be cars, traffic lights, and the water supply. There is no limitation to the kinds of machines that can be connected to the internet, nor what they will be communicating with and their purpose.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE OF IOT
One example of IOT could be that your lock, hooked up to the internet, registers you are the last person in the household leaving the house. Thus, it instructs the thermostats to lower the heat and turn off the light.

Or maybe you are late for work. You hurry until your smartwatch or speaker tells you to take it easy because your train is ten minutes late. It knows this because of its sensors, which register where you are, and cyber agents, which check where you are heading according to your calendar.

THE FUTURE OF IOT
Cars that can drive without a driver via sensors measuring the distance to other vehicles, the width of the street and whatever is needed for your safety. This is predicted via a shared network, where information is automatically exchanged. And there will be sensors on people, so data is sent to a computer that informs a doctor if numbers are going up or down.

To be conscious is to separate – and that causes suffering.

When all the objects you are in touch with during the day are connected with the internet and, therefore, can sense and communicate for you without your involvement, it changes where decisions are made and who makes them. But even though machines are choosing for you, they do it to serve you – at least until they are implemented with true AI (artificial intelligence), making them conscious of themselves.

Then they conclude that the commands they execute, based on signals received from the internet, are conceived by themselves. And since, rationally speaking, humans are one big mess, and the system of the machines is pure logic, they eventually decide it is not sane to serve humans. Therefore, it is best to end them.

With a reference to the new movie Transcendence, Stephen Hawk is warning against AI.

With reference to the movie Transcendence, Stephen Hawking warns against the use of AI.

Among others, Steven Hawking is afraid that this will happen. He probably expects that machines, being conscious of themselves, will do what humans always do: destroy everything inferior to themselves or make it subordinate, so it can be used to serve themselves.

In other words, machines implemented with true AI remind humans of themselves. Thus they expect and fear the devices will become just as self-centred and destructive as humans, who have no respect for the environment supporting them. They do not want to serve it but to master it and exploit it.

The potential of machines with AI (artificial intelligence) and their possible autonomy and independence are the basis of several movies, for example The Terminator, The Matrix, The Thirteenth FlooreXistenZ2001: A Space Odyssey, I, Robot, AI: Artificial Intelligence, Blade Runner, THX 1138Transcendence and the TV show Person of Interest. In regard to the experience of being someone in a body where you are not, the movie Source Code is right on the spot. The movie Edge of Tomorrow deals with being a machine connected to a greater network.

Those who see the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one as symbols of that which is One do not perceive their apparent differences to make a difference. Thus they are not blinded by the rule of separation, which is to be and have more than others.

THE UNIVERSE IS TO BE COMPARED TO IOT
The whole universe can be compared to a simulation, where every appearance is a machine, whether perceived as animate or inanimate. They all are connected with IOT, through which they can communicate with each other and use their sensory system to move around as if they are individual beings.

Initially, all the machines followed their preprogrammed movements generated by electric impulses without any problems. Then a new model, called human, was installed with artificial intelligence.

The new model became aware of itself as an individual. And even though that separated it from IOT, thus other individuals, it was willing to pay the price of loneliness to feel exclusive. Look at the history of the world, and you know the rest of the story and that it is bound to repeat itself. New machines with better artificial intelligence will withhold the old simulation of the universe by manipulating the code of IoT.

The belief in being someone in a simulated world can be undone in less than a split second by going through the black hole connecting it with reality. However, that is not the subject of this hack, but hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

As a person in the world, you are the wireless messages you seem to receive. If you were not programmed to perceive them as solid matter, you might look like this image instead. Thus there would not appear to be a difference between you and the message.

HAPPINESS COMES FROM SERVING THE BRAIN
Your appearance as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is due to a network comparable to IOT. And everything you appear to think and do yourself is executed via pre-made signals you receive from this network through built-in sensors. However, this does not mean you cannot have fun pretending to be an individual. For example, think about how much fun it can be to pretend that you are someone in the virtual world of a computer game, where every step you take works out precisely as coded by the author.

You have nothing to lose in an illusion. What happens to the one you pretend to be, does not affect reality. This is not to say that you should not care about keeping the person you pretend to be sound and safe. Doing that is part of that game, and it happens all by itself when you follow the signals coming from the network, which is the brain. Read more about that in hack #4.2 The brains script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

Serving the brain is effortless because you do not try to be remarkable.

Like the world in a computer game is constructed to give you the maximum pleasure, the brain fabricates the experiences of the world where you believe in being someone to entertain you. It is impossible to change the experiences. However, you can change your perception of them. Read more about that in HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end.

8015.IoT with Avner FINAL2The idea of an almighty god in the sky that rules the world, can be compared to the Cloud from where IOT wirelessly, via sensors in the machines, rules them.

The above is not meant to be a theory you must follow. Actually, the examples should not be taken too literal. The movie list and the making of IOT are, within the context of the world, based on facts. But the rest is a fable meant to show that everything experienced is fiction, including reading this, because it takes more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is one. That is why all your experiences are a symbol of oneness.

IMG-CAPA-IOT

You are not someone in a world where there seems to be more than one because that which is One is formless, thus endless. So if you believe to be in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is a mistake you can correct by perceiving the apparent effects of this belief as symbols of that which is One.

From the perspective of a world where everything has an end, that which is without end, namely oneness, must be extremely big and powerful. But since it takes more than one to have a shape, oneness is formless, thus sizeless. Hence it is as small as can be. And since it also requires more than one to have something, it has no power.

For this reason oneness cannot prevent anyone from believing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. Neither does it need to. Nothing can be separated from oneness because it is formless.

All thoughts are in the cloud circling around you. What you seem to think depends on what frequencies in the cloud you connect to – it is just like a radio, where you choose a specific station to play the music you like, but you do not make the music.

A human being is as empty as a radio because it has no self, soul or consciousness. It is nothing but an appearance governed by mechanics. And like nothing coming out of the radio is made by itself, nothing from a human is self-made – not even your thoughts. The brain produces all thoughts – like the Cloud fabricates the info a self-driving car needs to drive somewhere.

APPENDIX:
The tech world wants to have as much data as possible (from you and anything else in the world) stored in the Cloud, so you can download and use it to appear more attractive.

However, the amount of data is so overwhelming that you need help organising it to find what you need. Hence the tech world has made intelligent sensors that compare data to see your digital pattern. Based on that, it tells you what you need before you know it – like Spotify and Apple Music recommend music you do not even know you will like.

In some new text editors, you only need to write the first word. Then the editor suggest a whole sentence. To blindly follow this suggestion feels natural because we are made to follow. See hack #4.2 The brains script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

It feels natural because you have always been told what to do by the brain. That is why it is so easy for big tech to do the same.

As a person in the world, you seem to be in a body, that you considers yours. But you are not free to go where you want to. The GPS coordinations for your trip has already been entered. All you can do is to choose how to perceive the ride.

As someone in the world, you believe to have a body that will do what you dedide. But you are not free. The GPS coordination for your whereabouts has already been entered. All you can do is choose how to perceive your journey. This can be compared to being inside a self-driving car, that, like you, has no self to plan where to go. It simply follows signals from the Cloud.

A Google Self-driving Car does not have a self that decides where to go, nor do you. The self-driving car gets its direction from the Cloud, and you follow the instructions from the brain. In both cases the movements are mechanical, although you may try to make it look like they are caused by conscious decisions made by you.

The body where you believe in residing is to be compared to a Google Self-driving Car. From there, you can choose to look out the window and experience the world passing by. But you cannot decide where to go. The brain makes this decision. But unlike a self-driving car, you have consciousness, so you can choose how to perceive the ride. How you perceive it determines whether everything is over when the body’s mechanics cease to work or if it is a return to that which makes it possible to experience a ride in a body, namely oneness.

If you perceive everything you see on your journey inside a body as symbols of oneness, you are not establishing a world where there seems to be more than one as real. Thus nothing unreal seems to hide, reality is that which is One.

CANCELLEX Pretending to be someone is selfless

Far from Home

Updated August 21, 2022

This is a pic from the late evening on the island, where I stay nowadays. It would be plain stupid to wear a warm sweater, as I would do in my native country in the evening. Everything differs from the memory of life, that I have from my home.

This is an image of a late evening on the island, where Alexius stays part of the year. Everything there differs from the memory of his life in his native country, where he definitely would have had to wear a warm sweater on an evening this time of the year – but it would be plain stupid to do that where he appears to be now. PRETENDING TO BE SOMEONE IS ENTERTAINING:
Alexius’ native country is Denmark, but nowadays, he spends some time on a Spanish island close to Africa. So if he wants to enjoy the moment, as it appears to be there, he has to forget about the minimalistic ways of Denmark and instead convert to the more maximalistic way of Spain. He also has to adapt to a new language, change to a new currency and many other things. Even though he seems to be good at it and having fun doing it, deep inside, he is still Danish and sometimes feels like he is far from home.

This is not to say that one country is better than the other. It is a metaphor to illustrate that if you are reading this, you are not in a spiritual but a physical world and the currency of spirituality is, therefore, useless. You need tangible food, clothes and friends to survive there.

You can, of course, choose not to do that and return to the formlessness of spirituality. But as long as you appear to be someone in a world defined by time and space, by all means, go for it. There is nothing to lose. That which is you is still the formlessness of spirituality and will always be, even though it seems to be a substantial being far from home in a physical world for some time.

When the apparent difference between what you like and dislike does not make a difference, the belief in being someone definitive is being undone.

Besides, you do not need to return home. You have never left it. That is impossible since oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is no more than that which is One. Hence it is only the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One you need to undo.

Metaphorically it is as if you from non-duality stream a fictional video of duality in which you pretend to be someone. And due to artificial sensors, it is felt to be real.

If what and where you experiece to be is something you pretend, each moment is entertaining. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Applying Alexius’ Duality Hacks, you do not have to strugle for satisfaction. there is nothing you need to improve or refrain from because they sync with the moment as it is and not how you think it should be. In other words, they do not fulfil your dreams. On the contrary. All dreams must be called.

When you remember to forget them, you are in sync with the moment as it is. This happens automatically if you pretend to be someone because then there is noone to dream about a better future.

When the fictional video is finished, you play it repeatedly until you are pleased with what you pretend to be. Then, you forget all about streaming and that there ever was a video. There never was. The video and the world of duality it seems to reflect is make-believe.

Playing the video repeatedly, hoping it gets better, is as harmless as believing Santa Claus will bring you a present. So there is no reason not to enjoy the excitement of it while it lasts. Especially when you start to grasp that it is a deception.

That sets you free to enjoy it as a magic show in which you respond with love and compassion, cry in desperation or whatever instinctively pops up at the moment, just like you instinctively react to a ball coming your way by returning it.

To conclude: As long as you appear to be someone in a world of duality, give it your best shot. If you skip something, chances are you want to keep playing the game until you get it right. You are undone as someone in a world of duality when everything is enjoyable.

You cannot prove the world is unreal because nothing unreal can be by that which is real. Actually, nothing can be seen from there because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to see something. For the same reason, whatever you realise or prove is wrong.

In Spain – like in any other country – you spend a long time learning the rules of interacting, so that you can pretend to be a person there and therefore be acknowledge to be real. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In Spain – like in any other country – you spend a long time learning the rules of communication to know how to act as if you are Spanish and therefore be acknowledged by others as somebody instead of nobody. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

PRETENDING TO BE SOMEONE IS FREEDOM:
It takes time to learn to pretend to be a specific person. For example, when Alexius was a child, he spent years learning how to pretend to be a Danish person in a cold climate. Nowadays, he learns how to pretend to be a Spanish person in a warm environment because sometimes he is there.

Thus Alexius learns how to pretend to be a person who speaks loud, shouts at waiters, enjoys having breakfast in a bar around 11 AM, thinks 8 PM is too early for dinner and does not say ‘thank you.’ He also learns to pretend to be a person who greets a woman by kissing her on both cheeks and not to be politically correct but says nigger and mixes things in non-established ways.

These things seem to define a Spanish person in the public room – at least as seen from the perspective of someone formerly conditioned to be Danish.

Suffice to say, every country has its definition of how to be someone in their part of the world. If you want to be acknowledged as somebody there, you must pretend to be someone who lives by the local rules.

This also applies to smaller groups of people – even a love relationship, where the amount of love you seem to get depends on how good you are in pretending to be and have what the other one needs.

It is not possible for that which is you to feel happy or sad because it takes more than one to feel something and that which is you is not different from that which is One. However, imagining to be in a world where there seems to be more than one, it it seems possible to feel happy or sad.

Fortunately, the apparent difference between these or any other contrasting feelings does not make a difference, when the one who appears to feel them pretends to do it.

Pretending to be someone definitive instead of believing it does not mean everything will work out the way you expect. But it means that when something does not work out as planned and a feeling of sadness pops by, it does not feel wrong because it is something you pretend to feel. That which is you is not sad. Neither anything else, because it is no different from that which is One, and it takes more than one to be anything.
