‘A state of not-knowing,’ how to get there [draft]

Updated September 29, 2022

Everything believed to be a fact is made up by the brain. It is, for example, not a fact that you see this picture now. It has taken the brain one second to fabricate this experience. Hence what you believe in seeing, you saw in the past. And then again, there was no picture one second ago. It is a fantasy of the brain made from nothing to make it look like you are something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TWISTING EMPTINESS INTO SOMETHING EXCITING
The brain claims your experiences are
founded on information from the sensory system. You gladly accept this because otherwise, it is evident that the brain fabricates your experiences. Consequently, nothing you see consists of tangible elements but intangible thoughts. See Eyes do not see.

You may have noticed that even with your eyes closed, the brain can produce vivid images that look like the world you see with open eyes. And it does not require you to be sexually stimulated by something in the physical world to produce an orgasm while you are dreaming. The substantiality of what and where you believe to be is a fantasy synthesised by the brain from nothing. For example, after watching several movies in a row, the brain pieces their different work of fiction into one continuous story that feels so exciting that you forget it is fantasy.

This is because whether experiences are perceived as yours or others, real or imagined, authentic or fake, fabrication or factual, physical or spiritual, they are processed by the brain in one higgledy-piggledy by the same organ. It views everything it processes as another construction of thoughts that needs to be shaped into something so engaging that you do not notice it is a fantasy created from nothing. Nor does the brain want you to see that it is as immaterial as the experiences it produces to appear as something in someone who believes the experiences establish it as someone substantial in a tangible world.

Those who want to be in a merry-go-round world may first like to read about the bliss of a state of not-knowing. But when they realise the bliss comes from not believing to be someone definitive, they avoid a state of not knowing by making sure to perform as somebody definitive – for example, saying, »I need time to process it.«Photo © Alexius Jorgensen

A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Since every experience you are aware of has taken the brain one second to manufacture, the origin of what you believe to experience right now is one second away (read more about that here). Therefore, if you go back one second from your present experience, you return to the nothingness the brain has twisted into something you perceive to happen now.

In this transition from something to nothing, you see how you used to be caged by nothing disguised as something. However, your new freedom from something may feel claustrophobic because you have nowhere to hide your emotions. Fortunately, this exposes them as nothing. Hence you enter a state of not-knowing. Since it is like falling into an unsubstantial body, you neither feel physical nor integrated with higher frequencies. There is no need to label anything.

However, the brain goes on like before, producing experiences of something. But since what you believed in being cannot be recalled in a state of not-knowing, there is nobody to perceive the apparently different experiences to make a difference. That is why you are in the bliss of nothing, which is nowhere because the brain has not rendered it into something. There is nobody to be aware of this until you return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive, and vague memories of it pop up.

In other words, everything said in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings about a state of not-knowing is based on Alexius’ memories. And though a state of not-knowing is impersonal, memories are personal, so Alexius’ memories may be different from yours, Like two persons drinking the same tea may often remember it differently, although the tea is the same.

In a state of not-knowing, your eyes may be closed or open. Perhaps you sit in a bus or a park, walk down a noisy street, talk a lot or are silent. Everything is normal, and thoughts go on as usual since what and where you appear to be is a construction of thoughts. There is one difference, though. Before, thoughts were perceived as something and now as nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The brain feels it has failed if you do not participate in its fiction of something by continuously sharing your reaction to the experiences it produces with someone internally or externally. So, if you do not verify the brain’s fabrication of nothing as something for 20 minutes, 45 at most, it gives up producing more experiences of you as someone. Thus, you cannot return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of something, nor can you continue in the bliss of nothing, as the fantasy about being someone is over.

But most likely, you leave a state of not-knowing a long time before the brain falls into a coma. And since you are returning to the consciousness of being someone definitive with a clean slate, you automatically serve the brain, thus everybody, because the brain has no personal preferences. Read more about the after-effect of a state of not-knowing in the following article.

Only in a world where there seems to be more than one, does there appear to be levels, so if you experience to be advancing through levels, the belief that there is more than that which is not being undone but enhanced.

Therefore, since this feels very adventurous, you do not need something specific but happily return to the bliss of nothing until the belief in being someone undone. You look forward to recognising oneness because you know it is impossible since that requires more than one. Instead, you enjoy what Alexius’ Duality Hacks is about, revealing that what you perceive to experience as something is nothing.

Since realising this requires more than one, it is only possible in a world where there seems to be more than one, and since it is a world of linear time, this is a process over time. But you do not wonder when it is over because you know time is an illusion. The willingness to realise that is often initiated by admitting that you are not willing to recognise that what you believe to be is nothing. By acknowledging this, you agree that what you appear to be is make-believe and, therefore, not that which is you.

About willingness, see The empty breath and the bliss of not believing to be someone and Willingness to not exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Having glimpses of Enlightenment, you stick to one aspect of it at a time. So if you feel it, you do not try to see it. Yet, if visions of it start to take over, you go with that. Suppose you do not try to divide your vision into different shapes. In that case, you will not see patterns and colours in the visual glimpses of Enlightenment but one bright light  It sucks out everything you believe to be so that there is nothing to gracefully fall through a black hole into that which is One  Read more about that here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT IN A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
In a state of not-knowing, you may have glimpses of Enlightenment. But they are not the Enlightenment of that which is One – just like a movie trailer is not the movie that it shows samples of. As you may have read several times, the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced because it requires more than one to be aware of something. But you can see, hear, feel or taste glimpses of it. The glimpses do not blend in with the physical world because they are experienced with the inward-facing senses and the physical world with the outward-facing ones. Read more about that here.

In other words, the visual glimpses of Enlightenment do not lighten up a room. On the contrary, it makes it impossible to see it. And even though the ethereal harmonies are the most subtle polyphony of bell-like sounds, they do not mix with church bells or any other mundane sound. That is why you better block out glimpses of Enlightenment when driving a car or doing something else that calls for your focus in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Since we are used to perceiving experiences as they come from outside, we perceive glimpses of Enlightenment to come from inside or another world. But this is not so. Instead, glimpses of Enlightenment come from a gap in nothing almost unprocessed by the brain. And the experiences perceived to be outside of us are nothing twisted into something by the brain.

Anyway, if you forget to perceive the splashes of light in different shapes and colours or to differentiate the ethereal harmonies from each other, the glimpses of light or sound fuse into one light or sound in which you graciously keep falling through empty space until it has emptied you and there is nothing to reunite with that which is One. The same applies to feeling or tasting glimpses of Enlightenment.

Getting into a state of not-knowing is as easy as told, but since we all are in the habit of looking for a solution in the experiences we perceive as something, we may get lost in them, thus feeling hopeless. Super because there is so much energy in hopelessness that unedited will ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

Whether your eyes are open or closed, you can apply one or more of Alexius’ duality hacks wherever you are. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

HOW TO ENTER A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
Any duality hack, except the Enlightenment of that which is One, will eventually take you back one second to the emptiness from where the brain imagines something that Alexius’ Duality Hacks expose as nothing. Thus you are no longer in the frustration of something but in the bliss of nothing.

When you feel speedy and restless, you apply hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing. But if you feel tired, pretending to be that is perhaps the better choice of a hack because what you pretend to be is not you (see hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation).

If you tend to justify everything unpleasant with the world, perceiving everything as symbols of oneness could be the hack to apply. In this case, Alone together is also a good hack. Read more about these hacks in hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness, and in hack #7 Alone together is the key to that which is One

Please be aware that the purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. That said, the more this unhealthy belief is healed, the more the body is set free from your dominance. Hence the biological system is not blocked from repairing the body. Nevertheless, it may be helpful to kickstart this with nootropics for boosting the brain, Blackroll for relaxing the muscles, weightlifting for toning them and far-infrared heating pads for deep bodily relaxation. Read more about setting the body free from your dominance in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

If you try to return to a state of not-knowing by replicating the last one, you will not enter it because what you intend to replicate is memories, and contrary to a state of not-knowing they are perceived to be something. If you use second-hand knowledge of how to get bliss, you become the special self, and since it is very serious about realising itself and a state of not-knowing is selfless, you will not enter it.

EPILOGUE:
The experience of you as someone in a tangible world only can only be exposed as a hallucination if you are willing to have the belief in being someone undone. If having that willingness, the undoing occurs when you keep reading Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. Do not expect them to save you or give you something because it takes more than one to do so, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. But as they, therefore, do not result in something but nothing, they automatically hack the belief in being someone.

Hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One does that once and all. The others hacks do it over time. They help you not be special but basic, so you do not look for something extraordinary but have fun in a world of duality while having the belief in being and having more than one undone.

To be continued in The after-effect of a state of not-knowing.

NOTE: This article is part of hack #5.2 The empty breath and the bliss of nothing.

What you believe to be can be compared to a smartphone. Although it can do thousands of things, it depends entirely on its operator – just like you do on the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE SELF, THE CONSCIOUSNESS, THE BRAIN AND THAT WHICH IS ONE
The brain cannot force the consciousness it has implemented into the self it has created to acknowledge the experiences it fabricates of a tangible world as real. But if not doing that, there is nothing tangible to confirm its existence as someone substantial.

But as any experience of something has taken the brain one second to form (read more about that here), you can undo them by going back one second second, thus entering the bliss of nothing.

In this state of not-knowing, you may see, hear, feel and taste glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one until there is no perception of time and space, hence no glimpses but one light or one sound, feeling or taste, which is the Enlightenment of that which is one. You will not experience this because it takes more than one to be aware of something. For the same reason, there is nobody to know a world where there seems to be more than one has gone and never was. Nor that the nothingness of you gracefully falls through a bottomless black hole until there is no hole or anything else appearing to hide that which always has been and always will be, namely the formlessness of oneness.

The Enlightenment of that which is one set in after 20 minutes, 45 at most, in a state of not-knowing. This occurs because the brain falls into a coma if you do not continuously respond to its experiences as they are real. Hence you disappear into the nothingness from where you were conceived. Therefore, if you want to remain somebody, you should leave a state of not-knowing relatively quick to respond to the brain’s rendering of a world where there seems to be more than one.

You can read about the ins and outs of a black hole here. And here, you can learn how to have glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one.

As there is no more than that which is one, since it is formless, thus endless, and as it takes more than one to experience something, the experience of being someone who sees this image is an illusion. And so is, of course, the experience of this article or anything else, regardless it seems spiritual. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The above explanation should not be taken too literally, as in doing so, you remain in the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is one. Having this belief undone only requires admitting you are unwilling to do that. By doing so, you acknowledge that being and having more than that which is one is make-believe. Thus you set off on a journey without time and space to that which is one.

Regarding willingness, see Willingness not to exclude but to include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one or The empty breath and the bliss of not believing to be someone.

In short, the Enlightenment of that which is one abruptly terminates all experiences, including being someone having them. Applying any other duality hack, this is a process over time where you enjoy believing your experiences are real while having that belief undone. The hack you are reading, HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it will end, is excellent for this. So, we forget about Enlightenment and continue this hack for now.

You cannot bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One when you want to exist because it takes more than one to be alive. This does not mean you need to die. That also calls for more than one.

If you remain in this state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, the enlightenment of that which is One set in. Read more about that in hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One. And read more about a state of not-knowing in hack #5.2 The empty breath, and the bliss of not believing to be someone.

The enlightenment of that which is One does not alter or transform anything, as that requires more than one. Instead, it wipes out everything that calls for more than one. Hence there is nobody to be aware of a fantasy about somebody in a world where there seems to be more than one, and, therefore, not somebody who appears to hide, there is nothing but the formlessness of oneness.

Leaving a state of not-knowing before the enlightenment of that which is One set in, you return to the fantasy of being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one with the slate wiped clean. Read more about that in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

Thus you start from the ground up, moving very slowly as if you practising qigong. Unlike that, however, your stretching has no other purpose than to fine-tune the body as a tool for the experience of duality. This dedication to duality is also why you do not attempt to pull apart the pairs making up the experience but comply with their synergy to get the whole experience of duality. For example, the collaboration of love and hate gives you the complete experience of a relationship.

Like a movie, the experience of polarity unfolds as scripted by the director. Since that is not you, there is nothing you can change but your perception of it. When that is in sync with the script as it is and not as you think it should be, the director of the manuscript, namely the brain, rewards you with shots of happiness for supporting it. This synchronisation happens automatically when the slate has been wiped clean. Read more about that here.

Eventually, this makes you so relaxed that you have no more to ask for. Hence the belief in being and having more than that which is One has been undone while you had fun experiencing more than one.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

Updated June 24, 2022

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, you cannot experience it in a specific way. Yet, it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thingy,  which top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes this idea. Read more about that here. Hence it is a no-body experience. This does not mean that you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay do it. Thus you want to be disrupted.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border or anything else in a fixed position. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might be felt as if it has a fixed centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

This is not a problem for the empty breath because contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it to be in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

I am not a talented illustrator, so instead of making an illustration of the inner breath, I have manipulated an image found on the internet in order to give you an idea of the simultaneously movements inside it.

Alexius has manipulated this scientific illustration on the internet to give you an idea of the simultaneously circular movements inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it. They are countless and all have two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside them. You cannot see those waves in the simplified illustration to the right but in the second image from here.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean that its edges are blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may get bigger and smaller here and there so that it momentarily feels more pear than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each of the circles inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating, so there are many non-fixed centres.

The innumerable amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundaries of the empty breath is located vertically and horizontally plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang-shaped waves inside them. But the circles are actually fused into one yin-yang-shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most probably do not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of many different movements in their size and shape, everything is fused into one single move. But since this can be hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is most likely easier to experience just one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe it comes in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is all about going with the flow. So if it seems to go the opposite way, by all means, follow it.

The flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that instead goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. But the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you experience a second before the brain processes it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Going with the flow of the circular movement in one of the above circles feels like you are surfing two yin-yang-like waves inside the empty breath. But this is just one way to experience the empty breath. Below is a short introduction to ways of feeling it, then a more detailed description of each of them.

Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below paragraph of the same name) or the indifference of it (see the section The empty breath is not the giver of joy and happiness but indifference in the article The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound (see the below paragraph The transparent sound of the empty breath) or felt inside the body (see the below section The swing of the empty breath), or sensed as if nobody is surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experience the empty breath like that, but to inspire you to go with its flow.

d76fd0833b28d1db146c08a2dd2057d91-2

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang-like-looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing the outside of the two yin-yang-like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
In the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right, you see a simplified simulation of the empty breath. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the illustration reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each of the circles inside it contains two non-definitive waves that you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without the holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body.

In the above intro to the empty breath, there is a more detailed explanation of how the circles containing the waves are arranged. As mentioned there, the circle can be smaller and bigger, and the direction does not matter. And besides surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere in between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is to follow the flow as it comes to you. Doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways may be revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate the body with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. It does not work. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to feel something. Thus the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about the past or feel pain in the back, you can get a massage by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you and leaving out the wave in front of you in a vertical circle.

Should you want to be grounded, you surf the full horizontal wave in the lower half of a vertical circle passing through the abdomen or even lower in the direction from the back to the front of you. You could also choose the bottom wave in a vertical circle going from the left to the right side of you – or the wave in the lower half in one or more circles between the two others mentioned. No reason to memorise this. Just go with the flow.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive or deliberate. In that case, you respectively surf all the way around the wave to the right and the left inside a horizontal circle going around the head. In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around the wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling in the chest caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves but only on the side aligned with a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Should you have tight hips, blocked abdomen or spasm in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The size of the circle, thus the waves, adjust to the need for relaxing these areas. Should this release sadness, you may feel like crying. If so, forget about the empty breath and take the time to grieve. Then return to the same circle of the empty breath if that is what the flow calls for.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts of it into a position that benefits the whole. In such case, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

It may call for surfing another combination of other waves, for example the whole wave in front of you in a horizontal circle going around the abdomen and a complete wave in front of you in a vertical circle from the head to the stomach or the other way. Maybe surfing them simultaneously or whatever seems beneficial regarding getting through the problematic areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust it gives you what is in your best interest.

You cannot illustrate the inner breath, as it has no definitive form. This animation, however, may give you an idea about the ´structure´ of the inner breath and the high frequency of its inner movement, which seems to originate from an yin yang like curved line – not just as curved though. It feels like, it is the swing of this floating line that expands and contracts the body, so that it breathes in and out. Unlike an yin yang sign the inner breath is not a flat circle with a curved line, but rather a ball wherein the curved line swings upwards and downwards as well as sideways, forwards and backwards and everything in between. Unfortunately the animation is not able illustrate that, neither how slow the swing of it actually feels in the body. Even though it extremely active inside the ball, the experience of it is that it has all the time in the world to expand and contract the body.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. However, this animation may give you an idea about how the swing of it feels like it comes from the blurred curved line between the two shapes of a yin-yang sign – but less curved. The swing of this line expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. But unlike in a yin-yang sign, the swing of the empty breath is not inside a flat circle but a non-definable ball, in which there are many similar circles with each their curved line. Depending on where one of these circles is experienced to be located, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to swing upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. Unfortunately, the animation is not really illustrating this. Although the swing of it is magnificent, its experience often is that it is very laid-back in expanding and contracting the body.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
What is said above about surfing the empty breath generally also applies to feeling the swing of it, except that this is solely felt inside the body. There the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves is sensed as a swing that extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line in between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath may seem to expand and contract the body slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. Maybe the break in between expansion and contraction also feels too long. But the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that at first, it feels like the body does not have enough room for it.

Surfing the empty breath is done on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas the swing of it is the movement of the curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves in any of the circles.

In other words, the curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. Breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath in the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out, in the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the whole curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in control. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. Read about the taste of life and focus versus defocus in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, the fusion of them at first feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still – see the third image from here – that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation, but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain sparkling with joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if you are surfing yin-yang-like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling of it is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits and where you are not defined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to this aspect of it – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, this force is sensed inside and outside the body. It is often easier to feel its subtle but erratic energy outside of the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. If you do not try to catch its abstractness but go with its fleetness, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

Sensing the operator of the empty breath outside of the body, you will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. From there you probably are transferred to the rhythmic flow of surfing or feeling the swing of the empty breath.

The apparent chaos at the root of the empty breath, where the operator of it resides and where you often land after igniting the empty breath, is therefore a good starting point, when you want to be in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

If you, out of habit, try to focus on the empty breath to hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph) or feel its rhythmic flow, you are bound to perceive it as something and thus fence it off. A more beneficial way to approach the rhythmic flow and transparent sound of the empty breath is to start in the chaos of its root – whether sensed in front or back of the body, on top of it or all around it – because that leaves nothing specifically for you to focus on, wherefore there is not something definitive blocking out hearing or feeling the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

Hearing/feeling the sound of the inner breath, you feel transparent, as if there is nothing to separate you from where you appear to be. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Hearing or feeling the sound of the empty breath, you seem transparent as if there is not something separating you from other appearances in the world of the outward-facing senses. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands the body and ‘ham’ when it contracts it.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, the sound does not seem to have a definable location, so it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body like it has nothing to do with the body.

And as that is actually so, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience like feeling the rhythm of the bass because it cancels out the feeling of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. A sofa, for example, does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it.

This is because you do not perceive bodily experience as specific when you are deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Thus there is no inside and outside and nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it becomes evident that it is unreal. But like the reality in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, the reality of a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being someone in such a world is all pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive).

ello-optimized-08ff975b

Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience this as visions of light, and the auditory-minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional-minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness. The glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One are revealed as the Enlightenment of that which is One if not interpreted to differ from each other. See the article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius does not make a difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

It is not possible to illustrate the empty breath in its totality. But this yin-yang animation (please ignore the holes in the waves and imagine it is completely full of waves) may give you an idea about the simultaneous movement of the yin-yang-like waves inside it.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody really knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. See how to do that in Take-offs into the empty breath and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

The empty breath is not only to be experienced within its border, because it has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive, as only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may have different memories from those of Alexius.

If still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you better read about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely, you feel the empty breath one way or another. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, you miss the empty breath.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. And you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

This is not to say that techniques cannot be helpful with toning down the experience of you as someone definitive so that the apparent existence of you in a tangible world does not seem to be a fact but make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like a remote control have nothing to do with the music, it triggers.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

The look of these sound waves reminds Alexius of how the connectedness with the empty breath often feels and how that makes him indifferent to the apparent differences in the world experienced outside him.

NOTE ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATIONS
Alexius searched the web for animations and still photos to illustrate the different movements of the empty breath in the way he remembers them. He does not know if the illustrators had the empty breath in mind when they made these images – but probably not. Except for the three last ones, the animations are grabbed from Electromagnetic Plasma Energy Light.

NOTE ABOUT THE ARTICLE
The above article that is part of hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing, is to be continued in the next one. What is the empty breath about?.

The speed of unedited thoughts and feelings ignites the bliss of nothing (DRAFT)

Updated May 19, 2022

That which is One can be compared to a movie running so fast that no frames can be seen. A world where there seems to be more than one is the same film slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of many different frames. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Contrary to common belief, oneness is not the same as stillness but as loudness. That is, if the speed of it could be heard. But that is impossible since that requires more than one. You could also say that oneness cannot be experienced because it is an analogue movie played so fast that its frames cannot be seen. The speed merges the frames into one. Hence it is not quietness but speediness that is the bedrock of oneness.

In the context of this metaphor, a world where there seems to be more than one is a movie of oneness slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of frames divided by time and space. Read more about that here.

Those insisting in oneness being stillness want to take it slow, so they have time to control themselves, thus appearing as balanced.

It is, therefore, not calmness but speediness that is needed to accelerate the slowed-down movie of oneness into its natural speed, which is so fast that it cannot be seen. Hence hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is not about slowing down thoughts or stopping them but not holding them back, so their uncontrolled speed ignites a take-off into the empty breath. It syncs the speedy thoughts in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, so they can be further accelerated without you going insane in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Inevitable thoughts move so fast that there is no time to hold onto them to establish you as someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. Therefore, since the inward-facing senses do not see you as definitive, it takes over the perception of the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you are in a state of not-knowing, which is pure bliss.

Suppose the brain is not kept active by you continuously perceiving something as separate. In that case, it cannot uphold your consciousness as someone definitive, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

However, you can only stay in a state of not-knowing 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive because the brain falls into a coma if there is not a continuous dialogue – internal or external – about something that seems to confirm you are someone definitive.

Therefore, if you do not want the brain to fall into a coma and you to disappear into the nothingness from where the experiences of what you believe in being is fabricated by the brain, you must return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of something by resuming your grievances about the world experienced to be outside of you, so you again are established as separated from what you experience, thus someone definitive.

Instead of returning from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being someone definitive, you can remain there until you are unaware of something specific. Therefore, since there is not something to confirm you are someone, there is nothing to be absorbed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read about that in HACK #6, The inward-facing senses, Enlightenment, and glimpses of it. This does not only mean that the appearance of you as someone definitive is over, but you have never existed, neither materially nor spiritually, because it takes more than one to exist.

Most, however, never enter a state of not-knowing, and if they do, they quickly leave it. But in this hack, you get to unlearn the collectively agreed ways of pacifying yourself through meditation and television, for example, but instead, step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions to ignite a take-off into the empty breath that slowly but surely exposes your experiences of something as nothing. Therefore, since your slate is wiped clean by the bliss of nothing, you become nobody pretending to be somebody in a world where there seems to be something.

To not forget being nobody, you may go back to a state of not-knowing to have the slate wiped clean again. Or maybe you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is,‘ thus being in sync with the duality flow, which never stops at something specific, so you cannot be somebody. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Since there is no more than that which is One, everything in a world where there seems to be more than one is absurd. That includes Alexius’ Duality Hacks. Yet their application undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to sit in particular postures or do something extraordinary to take-off into the empty breath. Instead, you acknowledge your present chaos of thoughts or feelings without trying to shape them by a specific belief system. When you edit them, the energy of chaos is replaced by the numbness of order.

To achieve this, you do nothing but be it (more about that below in the big box). This is not only the take-off into the empty breath but also the destination because totally being something leaves nothing to contrast it, thus nothing to define you, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing.

Have you already have organised the chaos of thoughts or feelings into a specific belief system, there is no need to go back to chaos to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. You acknowledge its suppression by being nothing but paralysed (read more about that here, thus undefinable.

But you do not know the bliss of not being someone before you return to the conscious experience of being that, and blissfully memories of emptiness start popping up. However, you know you are nobody when you do not care about what and where you appear to be.

When trying to control, change or stop thoughts and feelings, they are slowed down. Thus they do not have the speed needed to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, where they lose their apparent meaning, thus their apparent power to define you as someone definitive.

Please be aware that the above explanation of that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one is as absurd as any other explanation because it requires more than one to explain something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

If you feel as an outsider, it is not solved by blaming others but by solely feeling wrong. Since that means there is nothing to contrast what you feel, it cannot be defined. Consequently, you feel nothing but the bliss of emptiness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not get rid of an emotional problem by suppressing it but by feeling it. This is not done by sharing it with friends, nor by focusing on the cause with the help of a psychiatrist. These approaches disassociate you from your feeling. And you cannot get rid of it if you do not feel it.

So instead of sharing what you imagine to feel with somebody else, feel it all by yourself until you are nothing but that, thus eliminating a feeling to contrast it, wherefore there is not something to define you having a problem or anything else. Consequently, you are in a state of not-knowing.

When returning from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone, like a criminal, you do not think in terms of right or wrong. But unlike a criminal, you do not replace these categories with a calculation of what you can get away with it. Instead, you remain in their interaction, which is the duality flow. Being in that, there is nothing to disturb you from falling into a state of not-knowing again and again.

Read about the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Notes on ‘the duality flow’ 1/2 [draft]

Updated October 4, 2022

The basic self does not need to edit the experience of the world into something that complies with special concepts of being together in harmony, balance or whatnot. On the contrary, since everything it experiences is created by the brain, the basic self is together with everything, regardless of appearance. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you perceive yourself not as basic but as special, you constantly look for somebody to ratify your significance (read more about that here). But as closeness may reveal your need to meet others is egoistic, you substitute genuine feelings of togetherness with conceptualised ones. For example, you adjust to the table manners of a traditional dinner party, so you appear to be together without actually being close to anybody – or you buy popcorn and find a classic movie to see again with someone imagined close to you.

On the other hand, the basic self does not fear being exposed as phoney. It is not someone specific but relative to the moment put together by the experiences produced by the brain. Hence it has nothing to lose by genuinely feeling the present – nor if it seems frightening because fear is defined by calmness. Consequently, there is no genuine feeling of fear without a sense of calm and vice versa. Long story short, since you are in sync with your dualistic nature when your emotions are defined by their opposite, you feel amused following the interaction of opposites.

Practically speaking, you get into the interaction of opposites by not accepting fear as a specific feeling. However, that does not mean you should avoid it. On the contrary, you acknowledge it to perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals fear is not a specific feeling because it constantly interacts with its opposite, calmness. And since twofoldness is the nature of dualism, this establishes you as someone in a world of duality, wherefore you can hack it. Fortunately, going with the interaction of opposites, called the duality flow, you have fun while hacking duality. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

That said, when you are not interested in being special or accept going on automatic gear, you do not have to perceive specific feelings as ‘it is what it is.’ The brain automatically does it. Maybe not in those words. But you know specific feelings have been exposed as twofold because you cannot help but laugh when you feel the duality flow.

But you do not laugh when not in the duality flow because being stuck with a specific feeling makes you nervous. You probably feel it in the stomach because to only feel positive, for example, you suppress your negativity by projecting it onto a vulnerable part of the body, often the stomach. However, you do not need to know what you have suppressed to solve the problem of feeling confined by singleness. If you perceive your reaction to the upset stomach as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold. Since that makes you feel complete, you have nothing to worry about.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Comparing desiring for something with the drawback of getting it is a typical interplay of opposites in a world of duality. Going with this interaction, you feel complete, thus indifferent to the outcome. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Splitting a duality pair into two distinct elements by suppressing one of them, none of them is genuine anymore because they need each other to be defined. For example, positivity needs negativity to define it and vice versa. Therefore, since they both become conceptualised, thus enduring instead of fleeting, your perception of yourself is conditioned by them. Fortunately, as you already know, ‘it is what it is’ undoes your fixed idea about what you are.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You either breathe in or out. One excludes the other. Yet, they pave the way for one another. That is the way of the duality pairs.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you follow the nature of duality, it does not seem to have a hold on you, whereas fighting it makes you feel imprisoned. To go with duality is easy, you just stop holding onto something specific. That does not mean you cannot have a specific spouse but that your reaction to the other constantly is twofold.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self expects others not to question its story of greatness but to adapt to it so that the world appears ordinary and the special self is original. That is its way of hiding it feels inferior. However, if not hiding that, feeling worthless can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus revealing it is coupled with feeling extraordinary, and they define each other in constant interaction, wherefore you get a genuine feeling, not a conceptual one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your attitude to something is single-minded, you get a specific peak experience. But this does not go on for long because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Thus being at the top is soon replaced by being at the bottom. On the other hand, if your approach to something is dualistic, you do not head specifically for the top but for the constant interplay of the highest and the lowest. Thus you are the duality flow, which may not be as exciting an experience as solely being at the top. However, it continues to amuse you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The duality flow depends not on the specific elements in a duality pair but on the resilient energy between them – like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you want positivity, you must also welcome negativity because everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. In non-duality, you can neither have negative nor positive vibes because it requires more than one to have something. Since that also applies to having a shape, non-duality is formless, thus endless, wherefore a world of duality is an illusion. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you feel you have nowhere to go and do not perceive it as a particular state of mind but a dualistic one containing nowhere and everywhere to go, you are in the duality flow. The same applies if you go with the interplay of irritation and relaxation. But the duality flow is not about the opposing elements in the duality pairs but their interaction. That is what makes you feel complete – just like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you feel alive.

And like the opposing elements in the breath depend on each other, so do the components in other duality pairs. Thus you can only feel positive when contrasted with negativity. So if you are not in the constant interplay of positivity and negativity, what you believe in feeling when you claim to be positive is a concept conjured up by distancing yourself from negativity via meditation, for example. That is like separating yourself from either breathing in or out. You need them both to survive.

In short, the solution to everything in a world of duality is to keep the duality pairs intact so that the duality flow can vitalise you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Excluding negativity, darkness, anger or whatever do-gooders have told prevents you from feeling good, destroys the foundation of duality. It is made by dividing everything into pairs such as positive and negative, light and dark, anger and delight. But since it takes more than one to destroy something, you also enhance the belief in duality.

You can solve this ambivalence by playing the game of duality or undoing it. You play the game of duality by perceiving your negative reaction to something as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception reveals negativity paired with positivity. However, it is not positivity that satisfies you but the interaction of that and negativity. Especially because it sets off the interplay of other pairs of duality. Thus you are in the duality flow.

One way to undo the game of duality is to keep playing it because everything with a beginning is bound to end. However, that seems to take some time, so if you want to undo it right away, apply hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

That something is ugly is not a fact, but how you have decided to perceive it. This singular Interpretation prevents you from seeing it as it is. Everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality, so what you see is as beautiful as it is ugly. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to choose between good and evil in the duality flow. They complement each other. Therefore, since one is not better than the other, there is nothing to judge, thus not something to establish fear as a specific feeling. Instead, you feel it is interacting trust.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being in the duality flow, you forget about what you were used to being. It was based on single-minded concepts, and you are not someone specific in the duality flow but relative to the constant movement between opposites. See also The basic self is relative to the brain, thus without egoistic intentions.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Everything comes in pairs of opposing components that lean on each other in a world of duality. Thus splitting them into independent elements to hold onto just one of them is impossible. Yet, it is possible to imagine you can get rid of your negativity by projecting it onto others to appear solely positive yourself. However, you feel sluggish since this mental stance is achieved by repressing part of yourself. On the other hand, following the duality flow brings about energy because the constant interaction of opposing elements is the natural state of duality.

If you are into being and having the best, the duality flow experience may be a continuous movement between the best and the worst. Should you want to be spiritual, the motion is most likely between that and materialism. The duality flow could also go between hope and hopelessness or between whatever you hold dear and what you fear.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the perception ‘it is what it is’ reveals that every experience is twofold and you are in a world of duality, it brings about completeness. However, as everything comes in pairs, completeness is coupled with incompleteness. No worries, you are neither whole nor fragmented but in the constant motion between these opposites – just like when one end of a see-saw goes up, the other goes down.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When someone is hurt in a movie you watch, you may also feel pain and relief when the problem is fixed. But since the film is not perceived as real, it seems entertaining to participate in its ups and downs. That is how it is to be connected with the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

What you must prepare for automatically pops up when following the duality flow. Should things not proceed as expected, you are not afraid of getting upset because you know everything comes in pairs. Therefore, the duality flow continues since your concern is complemented with unconcern. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Having established ‘it is what it is’ as your default perception, you are always in the togetherness of the duality flow, thus feeling plentiful instead of needy when separating the duality pairs into separate components.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The satisfaction you get from being in the duality flow is unlike what you get from something perceived as specific. That is because you are always afraid of losing that, whereas it is impossible to lose the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, there is no sense in searching for something specific. That is such a relief.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you want the satisfaction of the duality flow, it is essential not to focus on anything specific. The same applies if you wish to undo the belief in duality. Therefore, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ cancels out anything specific, you kill two birds with one stone by applying it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

None of the opposing elements in the duality pairs is essential. Instead, their interaction matters because it constitutes the duality flow. You will follow it when you are tired of feeling incomplete.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A long time ago, Alexius conditioned himself to hide his sorrow behind justified anger and disgust. That changed when he did not try to hide or rationalise his grief but perceived his reaction to it as ‘it is what it is,’ Then, he sensed that a little boy was floating on waves of sweet nectar inside his sorrow.

Therefore, since he saw sorrow was paired with mellowness, he did not try to fence off the grief anymore to feel good. Actually, sadness automatically triggers the happiness inside it. Hence being in the interaction of happiness and sadness became his basic experience of the duality flow.

[√] Notes on feelings [draft]

Updated October 6, 2022

Pinching yourself in the arm, the brain registers a physical feeling. Hence you conclude, that you are alive. But since the brain creates the experience of the physical sensation, this conclusion does not prove you exist as someone substantial in a tangible world outside the brain – just like regardless of where you experience being in a dream, you are not there but in your bed. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

»If you’re sitting in a safe and comfortable position, close your eyes and try to feel your heart beating in your chest. Can you, without moving your hands to take your pulse, feel each movement and count its rhythm? Or do you struggle to detect anything at all? This simple test is just one way to assess your ‘interoception’ – your brain’s perception of your body’s state, transmitted from receptors on all your internal organs … There’s a constant communication dialogue between the brain and the viscera (internal organs).«

The above test is if the connection between the brain and the body works in you. It is from an article in the Guardian, Interoception: the hidden sense that shapes wellbeing. Like in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, the article concludes that many people have cut off the link between the body and the brain. And since the latter controls the body, it is left without guidance.

According to Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, this connection must be re-established, so the body parts do not act independently of the brain but work as a group governed by it. But the article in the Guardian has another conclusion. It says you need to master the body, and in doing so, you are in touch with its signals and, thus, your feelings because they are in the body.

But believing you are the master is the root of the problem. To become a master, the natural connection between the body and the brain must be cut off to take over the governing of the body and impose your ideas of what you are and feel. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

This is ridiculous because what you believe in being and feeling is based on selected experiences produced by the brain. You are nothing but a product fabricated and conducted by the brain. Thus feelings do not come from the heart, like you may claim, or anywhere else than the brain. It governs the body and what you appear to be – also if that is perceived as spiritual.

For sure, you fall off the planet if you interfere with gravity. And you mess up the body when you disrupt or meddle with its ongoing communication with the brain. In short, in the game of duality, the brain is the game master. You cannot change that, but you can have plenty of fun following the game master. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Therefore, to feel good as someone in the game of the brain, you must step aside and let it do its thing. This does not mean you do not engage in the game but that you have no intention of changing it. Like when you play a computer game. You cannot change it. But since you are engaged in the plot, you feel entertained.

To spell it out, you are not a master but a servant. You serve the brain by perceiving your reaction to the experiences it produces as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. Therefore, since the world of the brain is dual, you are in sync with it, which feels natural.

However, if you do not want to play the game of duality, you are free to leave it. But you cannot do that unless you play it. And since participating involves feeling it dualistically, we go on in the below looking at feelings.

As usual, we do not begin anywhere specific or end with a conclusion. Alexius’ Duality Hacks have nothing to establish because they know they are as illusionary as anything else in a world of duality. Still, reading the below ragbag of clips may help you see that this includes what you believe in being.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

This article is not about Enlightenment or the reality of oneness, but the duality rules because you have opted for duality instead of non-duality. And to undo this decision entirely, you must live fully with the duality rules. Fortunately, this is easy when you do not suppress aggression, for example, but go with the interaction of that and peace as you go with breathing in and out.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot breathe out before you breathe in, and vice versa. In other words, you cannot have one without the other. This is how duality works. Everything comes in pairs. Acknowledging that, you feel complete. But you feel incomplete if you try to divide the pairs into separate elements.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To prevent being touched by the duality flow, you ensure everything in your environment is adjusted to the rules of Feng Shui or another totalitarian system. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you want to undo the belief in duality, denying feelings by focusing on their energies is not helpful because the belief is based on feeling it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The main reason most suppress negative feelings is not the fear of others but of themselves. This is because they fear negative emotions are dangerous to express. It often starts in childhood. For example, when Alexius was a kid, his father beat him if he said or did something his father judged offensive. Thus Alexius was afraid to voice his negative emotions accidentally.

But just like the negative pole in electricity is as important as the positive one. You need negative feelings as much as positive ones in a world of duality. If you avoid the negative ones, you deteriorate, whereas you blossom if you approve of them. Read more about that in Alexius’ Childhood.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since that which is One is formless, thus endless, that which is you is the same. Therefore, appearing to be someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion. And so is any perception of oneness there. Yet, many try to replicate it by having one love, home, god, etc.

However, a world where there seems to be more than one needs contrasts to be experienced. Thus everything comes in pairs of opposing elements. You cannot change this. But you can suppress negativity, for example, to appear indivisibility positive. But since this singleness is constructed by excluding something, it is not based on oneness but on separation. Thus it entails loneliness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot experience something as positive without judging something else as negative. Thus the negative thoughts are a confirmation of the positive ones and vice versa.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not breathe in and out to find a balance between expansion and contraction. Neither do you need to find a balance between body and brain. What you need is to let the brain do its thing so you, in a laid-back fashion, can enjoy being someone in its game of duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You will be mistaken about yourself if you do not side with both up and down. Feeling down without getting that interaction and going up, you feel sad. Mainly going up and using it to deny feeling down, you feel insecure. But if you go with the interaction of up and down, you are not definitive but relative. Thus you are neither happy nor sad but happy/sad. However, only for a moment because another soon replaces that polarity, so you keep feeling vitalised by the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To feel something definitive is to separate. Hence you stop separating when you do not insist on feeling something specific. This is done by perceiving the meaning you assigned to your response to something as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals that what you decided it meant is not set in stone because its counterpart complements it. So if you thought you were sad, it turns out you are also happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling wrong is your own decision because your emotions are shaped by how you perceive your reaction to something. But if you decide not to perceive your reaction as specific, the brain automatically takes over and perceives it as ‘it is what it is.’ And since the brain operates in pairs, your reaction is twofold. Therefore, as sadness is paired with happiness, you are in the interplay of happiness and sadness. This polarity, like any other, makes you feel complete.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

No matter what you plan, visualise or realise, everything plays out as programmed by the brain. You have no say in that. But you choose how to perceive it. So if you feel you suffer, you have chosen to perceive the brain’s play in a way that seems evil.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you hand your interpretation of something over to the brain, it will shape it so you feel entertained because that is the purpose of everything it sets in motion.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you do not project psychological issues onto the body, they do not seem to be hidden from your awareness. Hence you can perceive your reaction to them as ‘it is what it is,’ revealing it is twofold. Therefore, since nothing specific seems to make you suffer, there is no pain to project onto the body. Instead, it stays in the psychological sphere. But not for long because it is an airy sphere, so everything there is fleeting.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It´s very easy to choose not to store thoughts, so you are empty, if you don´t have a need to uphold a certain image of yourself.

If you are full of thoughts, you are busy assigning meaning to your experiences. However, none of your experiences means anything. Their only purpose is to entertain you. Being that, there is no need to look for thoughts to explain something. Hence you do not have a bad time. On the contrary, you feel amused. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you believe you suffer because of something, you are mistaken. Suffering comes from the way you have decided to interpret something. Therefore, if you suffer, you have chosen to assign specific experiences with a meaning that seems hurtful.

It is not solved by changing your interpretation but by not insisting that it is definitive. This you achieve when perceiving your conditioned explanation as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals it is not on its own. Instead, it is coupled with its counterpart. And since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, you feel at home when you realise your interpretation is twofold.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

None of your psychological feelings is caused by something or somebody in the world that appears to be outside of you. Nothing but yourself has the power to make you suffer. So if you feel desperate, something in you bothers you because it disturbs the image you have made of yourself. In other words, if you do not want to suffer, do not try to be somebody specific.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since what and where you experience being in the world of a dream is not there, the effect it seems to have on you is produced in yourself. The same applies to what you feel in the physical world. Your memories cause all feelings. Anger, for example, only appears to be caused by a world outside of you because you project this and other emotions onto it to construct a coherent and meaningful story, where your feelings seem to prove you are alive. But your fable is just as absurd as your dreams.

There is nothing to learn from your experiences, whether they seem to be dreamy, mundane or spiritual. Their only purpose is to make you feel entertained, which they do when perceived as twofold.

The above does not mean that physical life is a dream because, within the context of physical life, someone has a dream, but nobody has a physical life. Oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing physical, nor anybody making a story about it as that takes more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should noisy music from the neighbour seems to make you upset, it is not because of the music but the feelings going on in you at that moment. If your response to those feelings is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it turns out to be twofold. Hence you feel disturbed but also stimulated. This interchange of opposites is the duality flow. Read more about that in the following articles.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Negativity is just as needed as positivity. A computer, for example, only functions when connected to both the negative and positive poles in an electrical wire. Polarity is the name of the game, which you must adhere to if you want to be in a world of duality. Also, if you wish to leave this game, you cannot do that if you are not playing it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

What you feel comes not from your present experience. Instead, it is shaped by a feeling you already have, often a suppressed one but for sure an old one. In other words, you are already unhappy if something seems to make you sad. Based on what you already feel inside, you interpret the experience of something outside you, so it seems to have caused your sadness.

Fortunately, you do not have to change this pattern to solve this confusion. Nor do you need to understand where your suffering comes from and why you hold onto it. All you need is to acknowledge you are mistaken. There is no sadness in a world of duality because everything is twofold in such a world. So if you do not insist on feeling specifically sad, its counterpart pops up. Hence you feel happy/sad.

A way to undo having distinctive feelings is to perceive a specific feeling as ‘it is what it is.’ As already said, this reveals it is not singular but twofold. Thus you are in the duality flow, where you remain as long as you acknowledge that all your previous opinions are wrong, thus making you sad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To feel is not to exist because it takes more than one to feel something, and life is that which is One. In other words, it is not possible to feel something unless one imagines being in a world where there seems to be more than one. Can you feel it? Of course, you can. You are reading this. That means you think it is possible to be and have more than that which is One, and you uphold this illusion as ‘real’ by feeling it.

You undo this mistake by acknowledging what you feel. Next, you perceive your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your response is not singular but twofold. Then, you do not focus on the two elements making up your reaction but go with their interaction, which is the duality flow. Remaining in that, you feel so complete that the experience of more than one is eventually dismissed as real.

You must play the game of duality to hack it [draft]

Updated October 5, 2022

First, Alexius thought his fear was caused by his father, who often exploded in anger and beat him when he was a child. Next, Alexius assumed he caused it himself because he was afraid of not being good enough. Then he stopped looking for a cause. And as there is no effect without a cause, the fear is gone. Thus he is free to go with the duality flow. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article continues the previous one, Alexius’ childhood, where his one-sided perception of his childhood was revealed as twofold. In this article, we take a more general look at how to be in sync with duality.

Alexius became aware that everything is pretence when he was around six years old, lying on the floor while his father kicked him. Alexius was not scared, but he hated his father and wanted to punish him for his violent behaviour. Thus Alexius tried figuring out how to pretend he was frightened, so his father could see the horror he had caused in his rage against Alexius, who accidentally had let his bird out of the cage.

Instinctively Alexius began to tremble to make his father realise he tormented Alexius. If his father became aware of his cruelty, Alexius does not know. But he knows now that making the body tremble to appear scared turned out to be very bad for Alexius. It taught him how to react when he felt abused. So since then, involuntary movements of his muscles have been going on in most relations with authorities. Fortunately, his duality hacks have helped his body understand that spasms are unnecessary because Alexius is free to go with the duality flow.

However, as promised in the last article and the beginning of this one, this piece is not about Alexius’ past and his way to the duality flow but how you get there and go with it to the end of duality.

When you interpret something as beautiful, you will also see something deemed ugly. Opposing contrasts are the way of duality. But you are not going to feel the satisfaction that comes from twofoldness if you try to correct or remove the ugliness so you can hold onto a singular view of beauty.

Twofoldness occurs as automatic as breathing in is followed by breathing out – and it feels as satisfying. Accepting this polarity, it is soon replaced by another. And since you, therefore, are in the duality flow, you feel vitalised. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since everything is twofold in a world of duality, a singular impression, such as love, is fake. That is why you feel disconnected when you hold onto feeling that. But, no worries, this is easily corrected. First, you perceive your fixed impression as ‘it is what it is.’ Then, in a state of expectation calling for nothing specific, your special feeling gently turns inside out and unveils its counterpart inside it. In this case, love gently opens, and hate quietly comes out. However, like breathing in and out does not happen simultaneously, love and hate are not felt at the same time.

The love you feel is defined by hate, which is determined by love. Thus you see, there is no true love without hatred and vice versa. Should you, out of habit, suppress hatred to hold onto a specific memory of love, you feel disconnected until you remember that you only feel connected when you do not separate love and hate.

You may not observe the transition from love to its counterpart hate, just like you generally overlook that breathing in is replaced by breathing out. Consequently, it probably takes time to acknowledge the constant movement between the opposing poles of duality – in this case, love and hate. And it may take more time to sense the duality flow that, like rolling waves without highs and lows, moves throughout the body (read more about that here).

Nevertheless, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ syncs you with the duality, you immediately feel connected. However, this perception does not sync with duality if you assume your response to an experience is the same as the experience. For example, when your nostalgic reaction to a photograph from your hometown is mistaken for the image, nostalgia is not understood as something you feel, but a description of the image is. Hence, you use the perception ‘it is what it is’ to suppress your sentimentality to appear distant from the world proved to be as you see it.

Duality can be compared to taking a ride on a rollercoaster. If you suppress the experience of going down, going up becomes boring, whereas having eyes wide open and experiencing both ways, they enhance each other. Hence you feel thrilled.

In other words, when you accept the constant interaction between up and down, you laugh when feeling on top because you are not afraid of falling down. And you cry when you feel going down but without the fear of being stuck there. Consequently, you have a splendid time in a world of duality regardless of feeling up or down.

But in a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements. Since they constantly interact, like going up and down on a rollercoaster, there is no middle-of-road. Thus your perceived neutrality makes you feel incomplete.

That something is ugly is not a fact but how you decide to perceive it. However, this singular Interpretation prevents you from seeing it as it is because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you have used your body to suppress hate, you set yourself free from the stiffness, used to maintain your stylised expression of love, by perceiving your reaction to your rigid body as ‘it is what it is.’

Since this reveals your response is twofold, there is no particular response to uphold the awareness of a stiffness in the body coupled with your inflated idea of love. Therefore, as your special love is replaced a sense of nothingness, you cannot help but laugh.

So if you wish to feel the completeness of twofoldness, it is not your experience of something that you perceive as ‘it is what it is.‘ Instead, it is the specific response you determine your experience brings about. Therefore, if you decide your reaction to having been rejected is sadness, you perceive that as ‘it is what it is.That reveals your response is not one-sided but twofold. Thus sadness does not settle into definite grief but gently opens up and reveals gladness inside it.

In other words, when the definitive meaning you have assigned to a response is perceived as ‘it is what it is,its opposite is revealed. That is not a metaphor. Literally speaking, you feel sadness replaced by gladness, not quickly but gradually, and as automatic as breathing in is followed by breathing out.

However, you are probably so used to hiding the interpretation of your responses that it takes a while before you notice you always choose a single-minded one. But when you become aware of that and perceive the definitive meaning you assigned to your response as ‘it is what it is,’ it opens up, and, as already said, its counterpart unfolds from inside it. And since this is not a singular but dualistic experience, it does not appear to be exclusively right or wrong, thus generating neither pleasure nor worry. Instead, it brings about a satisfaction that remains no matter what happens because it does not depend on something specific.

The perception ‘it is what it is’ does not set you free from ange but free to experience it paired with delight. In other words, this perception does not sets you free from duality but free to enjoy it. Actually, so much that you, someday, forget to remember it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

A hint: Your single-minded reaction to something is often caused by fear, feeling attacked, furious or hopeless. Thus you want to fight or hide until what you feel is perceived as ‘it is what it is.That reveals the opposite feeling and if you do not hold onto that, it is not about something specific but the resilient energy between opposites, like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down.

This is the the duality flow. Since it is not a sensational feeling of adventure but a gentle sense of pleasure, you may fail to notice it if you are new to the duality flow. Nevertheless, you will definitely notice that the present moment feels fine regardless your appearance.

That does not mean you do not respond with sadness if you feel rejected by somebody. But since your reaction is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it does not settle into a definite feeling of grief. On the contrary, it interacts with gladness. If you accept this interplay of the opposing emotions in this polarity, another twofoldness rapidly replaces it. Thus you are in the duality flow.

Had you not perceived your response as ‘it is what it is,’ but made up a story in which you seemed exclusively sad in the way you assume others expect you to look when rejected, what you believe in feeling is speculative. Maybe shame is what you actually feel, but since it is suppressed, you cannot experience the interaction of shame and shameless.

Hence you do not feel the togetherness of twofoldness but the unfriendliness of separation. Most try to cut it off from their awareness by hiding it behind a sensitive part of the body, the chest for example. So when a psychological problem in the future triggers the hidden dissatisfaction, they can interpret the resulting feeling of unease in the chest as a physical issue. Thus, their past and current dissatisfaction are hidden from their awareness. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

You must judge something as inharmonious to know when you experience something harmonious. But as most people thereafter exclude the inharmonious, there is not something to define the harmonious experience. Consequently, what they get is an intellectual idea about harmony.

To justify your hatred, something interpreted as outside of yourself is judged vicious. But perceiving this judgment as ‘it is what it is,’ you see that it is not singular but dual. Viciousness is complemented by gentleness so that they can define each other. And hate defines love, so you are only genuinely affectionate when your hatred is acknowledged. Since the experience of twofoldness is fulfilling, someday, there is no need to search for more, thus not believing that you are in a world where there seems to be more than one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

There are, of course, instances where you feel relieved when someone leaves you. Hence you may want to extend that feeling by combining it with a sensitive part of the body, the chest for example. Thereupon you assume any physical sensation in the chest is caused by a psychological feeling, namely the sense of relief. But since that feeling is defined by pain, and you exclude that, you do not genuinely feel relieved.

When you anticipate your friends’ opinions about what goes on, it seems like a specific emotion is established. Especially if you spin a story about this feeling that you present in a severe tone of voice enhanced by body language illustrating the feeling. Women often use this trick to appear to feel something distinctive, although their emotions are suppressed. On the other hand, most men think it is great having their feelings cut off. Hence they are not distracted by them. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

What you believe in feeling is a concept of being relieved. So if it says you must smile satisfyingly to show something unpleasant is over, you do that to convince yourself and others that you feel relieved. Or maybe you compose a story in which you appear to have been freed from something terrible in how your friends expect this to come about, so they can confirm you feel relieved.

To sum up, when your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it is not limited to a single-minded interpretation like shyness. Instead, you go back and forth between that and its contrast confidence, so the opposing elements can define each other, thus establishing genuine feelings.

Being amused by this potency, you go along with the game of duality. Hence the polarity of shyness and confidence is soon replaced by another revitalising polarity. And so it goes until you feel so euphoric that there is no need for more. Hence the belief in being and having more than that which is One is undone.

What you believe in being only exist in the impression you imagine you make in the world. And it only seems real because of what you imagine it does to you.

Consequently, you should not use the perception ‘it is what it is’ if you do not want to have the belief in being and having more than that which is One undone. Instead, you should use the perception ‘I know what it is.’ To make that perception work, though, you must ignore the counterpart of what you claim to know. So if you, for example, want to appear as if you know the way, you must hide feeling lost.

When you always perceive your reaction to something as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing seems wrong. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. And although it has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One, it paves the way. Hence your story unfolds as planned, and so does the Enlightenment of that which is One. Not in the sense that your story built up to it. On the contrary, when it seems to fall apart, and you do not try to avoid it, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. Read more about that in HACK #6 The inward-facing senses, Enlightenment and glimpses of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

That, however, makes you feel something is missing. And no matter where you look, you do not see it because you keep insisting, ‘I know what it is.’ But if you sayit is what it is,’ your single-minded opinion of the way is going to reveal it is complemented by feeling lost. And since you are in a world of duality, this twofoldness makes you feel complete. Thus nothing seems to be missing.

Should you want to speed up the undoing of the belief in being and having more than that which is One, you say ‘dunno what it is,’ thus forgetting you appear to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. This does not mean that your experiences are transformed. Change is a concept of duality. But it means there is nobody to confirm them as something. Hence you do not get the satisfaction of duality but the bliss of nothing.

Suppose you remain in this state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most. In that case, the brain gives up fabricating experiences as if you are someone having them in a world where there seems to be more than one (read more about that here) because if nobody ratifies them as something, they are exposed as nothing. Hence all experiences dematerialise, and so does the brain, eventually.

You do not have to use the same words for the perceptions mentioned above to play the game of duality, deny it, or leave it altogether. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could, for example, say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ Read more about that in Notes on perceptions.

And if the duality flow is what you expect to get, it does not matter if you apply the perception ‘it is what it is’ to your reaction to an experience or the experience itself. However, it may take some time before you accept the nature of duality. So until then, you perceive your response to an experience as ‘it is what it is’ to get in sync with duality, thus being revitalised by the duality flow.

Also: In hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues, you were told to separate the psychological aspect from the physical one in a psychosomatic disorder so the body can heal itself. However, this is only if you are new to the duality flow. If you know it and do not want to be disturbed by the symptoms of a psychosomatic problem, you perceive your reaction to the symptoms as ‘it is what it is’ because you want to be in the duality flow. And so you are.

bottle-up-emotionsHow to suppress feelings?
If you are not already aware, here are a few samples:

  • Talking about what others do or say instead of how that makes you feel.
  • Trying to help others to remove the attention from you and how you feel yuorself.
  • Falling in love hides the self-hatred inside.
  • Talking about metaphysically things instead of acknowledging, what you feel.
  • Being upset about something on behalf of others.
  • Meditating, chanting, praying or doing similar things to fend off what you feel.
  • Finding psychological, or any other kinds of explanation for what you feel.
  • Eating or drinking to suppress ones’ feelings.
  • Trying to prove a factual point to hide what you feel.
  • Following ideas for living in the now, or trying to live by any other totalirian concept.
  • Blaming others and justify your feelings by them.
  • Much planning and control.
  • Constantly looking for new things to buy or change.
  • Trying to always be in a good mood.
  • Working a lot and for instance clean your home, when you are upset.
  • Reading or playing computer games regularly.
  • Having revenge sex.
  • Staging yourself on Facebook – perhaps to get as many likes and followers as possible.
  • Publish photos of your happy and shiny life on Instagram.
  • Quoting others to prove you are right.
  • Keep imagining how to solve things or just making up stories.
  • Sitting with crossed legs, locking the knees by bending them backwards, raising one or both shoulders or pushing them forward.
  • Holding back the breath.
  • Assuming to know what is right and wrong.
  • Concluding this and that.

And how to not suppress your feelings?
In the duality flow feelings become very defined, but only in relation to their counterpart. Therefore, since they are not definitive but relative, you have no specific feelings to suppress.

Notes on meditation, the basic and special self

Updated September 20, 2022

Everything in a world of duality comes in pairs, where the opposing elements define each other. For example, small is defined by tall and vice versa. So if you hate big things and abandon them, you also exclude small ones. Since small things cannot be defined, they become a blurry concept. Likewise, if you perceive yourself to be free from hatred, the love you believe to experience is fake. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The brain’s function is to create entertaining experiences for the self that it has fabricated. Therefore, if they do not seem to please but frustrate the self, its consciousness most likely perceives them, so they comply with a conceptualised way of living, such as capitalism, socialism, spiritualism, or another ism meant to make the self feel more special.

But since this perception is founded on a particular belief system, it is restricted by its concepts. And since self-discipline does not make you delighted but angry, you do not get the peace the belief system promised. Primarily because the thoughts you have compiled into perception aligned with your preferred belief system do not like being manipulated. Hence, they move faster and faster to escape your domination.

No worries, if you do not try to stop this restless energy, it automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath, where the slate is wiped clean. Read more about that in hack #5.2 The empty breath and the bliss of nothing. Therefore, since you only have perceptions in sync with the experiences the brain produces, you feel entertained by all of them. Fortunately, you do not have to uphold these perceptions yourself. The brain does it automatically if you do not interfere. Read more about that in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the basic self is relative to the experiences created by the brain (read more about that here), it is not definitive. Hence the inexact flow of thoughts coming from the brain seems natural. But not to the special self because it wants to be definitive.

To distance itself from the brain, the special self composes a perception in which the basic have been transformed into someone definitive independent of the brain. However, this twisted perception calls for more thoughts than those few the brain has available to make a perception aligned with the basic self. Thus, the special self meditates to generate more thoughts.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs alcohol, drugs or meditation to escape the fear of repercussion that manipulating others entails. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Those who perceive themselves as unique beings with the power to do things in their way and pace need many thoughts to uphold their crooked perception. However, the movement of so many thoughts soon becomes so hectic that they try to slow them down via meditation.

That is the official reason. But as anybody who has meditated knows, thoughts multiply when trying to control them. And that is the real reason for meditating because many thoughts are needed to construct a unique spiritual appearance.

 ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self does not feel disturbed by the flow of thoughts from the brain. On the contrary, it loves this quiet flow because it makes it easy to serve the brain in a laid-back way. However, the special self does not want to serve but to master the brain. Thus it feels disturbed by its thoughts, although, if not interfering, there are only a few.

The frantic flow of thoughts, the special self experiences, has been generated by itself. It has multiplied the simple flow the brain develops to maintain a basic itself into a large group of thoughts from which it can compose a perception of itself as an independent being. Read more about that here. Then, when it needs a break from the multitudes of thoughts, it looks for something numbing like alcohol, drugs or a mantra.

But when it manages to escape the thoughts, it feels horrified because, without all the special thoughts it has generated, the idea of being in control falls apart. Hence there is no self-deception to hide that it depends on the brain. Acknowledging that, it feels embraced by the gentle flow of thoughts from the brain.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Most like to believe they feel upset because of the thoughts coming from the brain. However, the distress comes from the attempt to edit them. When a single thought is sought out from the stream of thoughts, it generates a new stream, and if a specific thought is singled out from that, yet another stream is made, and so on – just like if you split a neutron from an atom nucleus, it sends out more neutrons all by itself, that split and sends out more neutrons. It is a chain reaction.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self feels dominated by the natural flow of thoughts coming from the brain. But it is dominated by nothing other than its perception of the flow of thoughts. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The special self likes to believe that visualising something will make it happen because that seems to confirm it is in control. But if that were true, everybody would win the lottery.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To think you are in control is like believing you control the TV with the remote. Somebody else has made what you see, and the only thing you can change is your perception of it. That is also how the basic self has been transformed into a special self, namely by perceiving the basic self so that it seems to be an independent being in charge of its own life.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs constant approval from others to feel alive. To get that, it often establishes a family, which it can manipulate into giving it the confirmation it needs. If that does not work as intended, the special self may pay a psychologist to ratify its uniqueness. But it does not realise how dependent it is on those supporting its perception of being independent.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the brain scripts you to feel sexual lust, you will feel horny no matter what you believe in being. However, you will not enjoy it if you try to suppress your sex drive through meditation or tantra sex. Read more about sex here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you perceive yourself as detached from the experiences of the brain, you fool yourself because you need them to prove this.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you try to solve absent-mindedness through mindfulness meditation or grounding exercises, you make it worse because you do not know who you are. Only your maker knows that. And since it is the brain, the solution, in the context of believing to be someone, is to be aligned with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain instead of using meditation to distance yourself from it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Having established itself as someone in charge, the special self needs to meditate or something else that seems to make it able to control thoughts to fool itself into believing that thoughts are not produced by the brain but by itself. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Mindfulness is for those who cannot help exploiting others – just like in ancient times, monks introduced meditation to the barbarians seeking shelter in Ashrams to teach them to control themselves, thus refraining from abusing others.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self has no need to relax or transform itself through meditation, yoga, fitness and whatnot. On the contrary, as its perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain, it is like a stream of happiness. Therefore, since it regularly forgets to remember being someone, it knows there is nothing to transform.

On the other hand, the special self never forgets to remember being somebody. It is always on a mission to become more and be part of something greater. But since that never turns out as expected, it settles for following someone that seems to improve its social status.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you need to relax, you are trying to be someone definitive. Because to achieve that, you have excluded the thoughts you find upsetting from the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Since that does not result in peace but fear of the repressed, you look for something that makes you relax. However, not trying to edit the ever-changing flow of thoughts but perceiving it as ‘it is what it is,’ you are not someone definitive but relative to the present experience produced by the brain. Therefore, since hating what you dislike feels just as exciting as loving what you like, there is no need to relax.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always looks for something to fix. But it rejects the solution that would fix everything immediately, namely not perceiving the brain as an enemy but as a friend (read more about that here). By doing that, everybody becomes a friend because the brain produces the experience of others.

Ultimately, the solution is to undo the belief in being someone who experiences something. As this is the end of being someone, the special self avoids it by meditating or something else that seems to confirm it exists.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The many doctrines of the world easily manipulate those who believe they have free will to become spiritual, socialistic, capitalistic or something else they think will make them independent of the brain.

However, you cannot avoid the brain’s commands – just like a car is in the hands of the driver, you are in the hands of the brain.

So even though the special self perceives the ride per the particular doctrine, it follows nothing changes other than how the special self sees it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There is no moment without the past and the future. For example, you must deal with both to keep the balance on a wheel like in this photo. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen

If you perceive the brain’s basic rendering of you in a capsule of time and space as a bit boring, the special self sets in by offering you more exotic ways of perceiving it, for example, by coming from the heart (read more about that here), or living in the now.

But since all experiences – no matter where you believe they come from or how they seem to be experienced – are constructions of thoughts fabricated by the brain (read more about that here), these special perceptions are nothing but a reconstruction of the thoughts made by the brain.

However, they do not work because they are exclusive and not inclusive. Any experience the brain creates consists of all thoughts popping up at that moment, including about the past and the future. When in sync with the whole bunch, every moment feels perfect.

But this is not how it feels if you eliminate some of those thoughts to adjust to concepts like coming from the heart or living in the now. That makes you feel imperfect.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Like the night excludes the day and vice versa, spirituality excludes consciousness and vice versa.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It feels like you are someone in a computer game just because it seems to make you feel something. But this feeling is based on your interpretation of computer-generated events. Therefore, what you feel is made by you. The same applies to what you feel in the world where you believe to read this. It is founded on your interpretation of the experiences produced by the brain. Consequently, it is you who choose what to feel.

It is also you who interpret experiences as there is a god, higher consciousness, or whatnot. But there are no experiences. That requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you meditate to exclude something, you establish it as real, otherwise, there is no reason to get rid of it. But anything you are aware of is unreal because it takes more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is one. Fortunately, you eventually forget what and where you appear to be when applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks, except for the Enlightenment of that which is One, where it occurs immediately. Hence, there is nobody to be conscious of something.

NOTES:

Being special and depressed, or basic and happy, or nobody and blissful

Updated October 4, 2022

The special self wants to make selected ones feel unique, so they depend on it to be appreciated.

The special self is always looking for errors in its personality to correct them, thus appearing in control. But the basic self does not consider itself in charge of anything. Instead, it sees itself as a servant of everything because it adjusts to the flow of thoughts coming from the brain, which does not know about personal preferences but what is in the best interest of the whole.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Thinking you are in control, you are under enormous pressure. You must always look for thoughts that can be used to compose a perception of your experiences to prove that you, not the brain, are in control.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You hit the buttons on the remote control to get specific channels on the TV. It is not difficult, so it does not establish you as essential. But if you imagine you are the master of buttons, you appear more important, although what is in the movie you may get is beyond your influence.

As you can see, being the special self is not about what you do but the thoughts concerning it. Especially thoughts in the category of master and servant – like when you think you master the remote control, your coffee machine, children or pets. Or if you have a boss that puts you down, but you still seem to be on top of it by thinking, you could do it much better.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always finds something about others that it judges as wrong. Hence they become the imperfect background for its perfection.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the special self perceives to fail, it takes on being secondary. Thus the failure does not seem to have been caused by itself but by somebody else.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When a ball is coming your way, it´s a natural reflex to respond and following such reflexes is pure fun.

When a ball comes your way, it is an automatic reflex to respond to it. Automatically following such reflexes is natural and invokes how easy it is to be the basic self. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Sometimes a doctor may check the function of a body by knocking on special points to see if the involuntary movements work. But everything you think that you do voluntarily is automatic. If you believe in being in control, you have worked hard to perceive the body’s activity as generated by you.

To fabricate this perception, you suppress your reaction to the reflexes that do not fit into your idea of calling the shots. Thus you become a person who seems to do everything by your own choice. And others appear to be doing things against or for you by their choice. However, keeping up this impression is hard because you always have to hide that the brain administers everything you do.

Therefore, not hiding that but gladly serving the brain, you are following your nature, thus feeling free.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self’s perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Therefore, since feeling the flow of happiness, it does not need to be or achieve something special to feel good. But the special self is out of sync with the flow, so it does not feel its happy vibe. Instead, it tries to create it by looking for special moments in the past to replicate in the present to feel special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If the special self discovers that others have interpreted something it did as wrong, it avoids feeling guilty by shouting, »Look what you made me do.«

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences the brain produces to make you feel like someone can, in many ways, be compared to the news that Facebook generates for you. Based on the info Facebook has gathered about you, it collects what its artificial intelligence predicts you wish to see, regardless it is fake or not. However, unlike Facebook, the brain has all your info, so the experiences you get from it are based on you. Thus what you experience is what you are. That cannot be altered – only your perception of it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain. But since it cannot manifest its fabrication, it has made a self that feels the experiences it produces, so it seems to confirm a world defined by time and space is real, which in return seems to prove the self is a substantial being in a tangible world. In other words, what and where you believe in being is a brain fantasy. Consequently, there is nothing real to confirm the brain’s existence, wherefore nothing is making the fantasy of you as someone in a world defined by time and space – just like nobody is making a dream and nobody is in it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to convince at least one person about how crucial it is, which it achieves by smothering someone with the kind of attention it senses, that is required to make that person feel chosen. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Again and again, the special self likes to show off as if it has invaluable insights from extraordinary experiences that can help others get better. However, it is as impossible as helping someone in a dream. Therefore, the special self pieces together an interpretation of its interaction with others that, in retrospect, establishes itself as someone who has helped them get better.

Though it may not succeed in manipulating others into believing this, it often succeeds in convincing at least one person by making that person feel so wanted and loved that it thinks it cannot live without the one making it feel that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to be part of something important, not to feel alone. Thus it checks all notifications on Facebook and makes sure to like what its friends write so that it will like it and be liked by them, and they all are confirmed to be together in a group of extraordinary people. That is, if you believe there is something in cyberspace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If somebody triggers an old feeling of rejection in the special self, it first interprets it as an attack. Next, it justifies feeling rejected by the attack. Therefore, since the feeling seems to originate in the attacker, the special self concludes the feeling does not come from itself. If the perceived attacker exposes this self-deception, the special self points out something from the past to make the attacker feel guilty. Thus the special self is off the hook and can rest assured that it is loved, and the attacker is not.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Undoing the belief in being someone special is like stepping into the unknown. And since life cannot be known, you find it there. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you justify your unpleasant emotions with something judged as flawed in the world, those feelings are buried in a mental drama of fairness. For example, when you feel angry, it is obscured by the sad story you keep telling about the world to establish you are unfairly treated by it. Hence feeling angry has been removed from your awareness and replaced by a mental concept of being mistreated. This spin also hides, you fear the world will get back at you for blaming it for your negative emotions.

However, this is too shameful to admit. So to save face when you feel attacked by the world, you repeat the story of being unfairly treated to prove you are innocent. But to uphold your innocence, you must continuously suppress feeling selfish, greed, anger and envy, which you do by changing the focus from yourself to others. You keep it at them by pointing out these attributes in them in a way you instinctively know they are ashamed of. You are very good at that, and your friends know it. Nevertheless, they do not expose you because they also look for someone to attack, so they feel off the hook. That is why they recognise it in you.

To hide that you and like-minded ones hate everybody, you meet in special groups where you hug and share in a collectively agreed way of being united. Yet, it is not feelings of love but the wish to hide they hate each other that connects them. Naturally, nobody wants to acknowledge this, least of all do they want to talk about it in the group because if you do not censor yourself to speak and act within the language of love established by the group, or its mentor, you are expelled. And then there is nowhere to go to find relief from your despair.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not appear in a physical world to learn something. Everything you encounter is made from empty space. The only purpose of your experiences, including those interpreted as spiritual and as you as someone, is to feel entertained by nothing. Read more about that here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To prevent the image of the special self from cracking, it is crucial not to feel one’s emotions. Therefore, since the special self suppresses them, it becomes so numb that it cannot feel anything. So instead, it invents stories about feelings that fit its self-perception. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love. Consequently, you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the perceived feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of expectations being met.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Nobody is unjustly treated in the brain’s script. It is all about being entertained by duality, which you are when perceiving your reaction to your experiences as it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, this makes you feel complete

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should you have conditioned yourself to feel relaxed when you hear a specific kind of music, you find yourself in a story where you know you are supposed to feel relaxed every time you hear this music. In other words, what you believe in feeling is a product of your story. And as most of what you believe in feeling rests on stories, you are hardly ever in touch with your emotions but with how you have conditioned yourself to respond to something. That suits the special self very well. It does not want to experience genuine feelings but how it is supposed to feel them when being what it imagines it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self likes to meet new people. However, not to get to know them but to answer their questions. That is a perfect opportunity to re-edit the story it has fabricated about itself to become more exciting. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you, in your part of the world, are supposed to feel disrespected when someone is more than 15 minutes late for a meeting, you can, in a rational way, prove to others that you are in the right when you claim to feel hurt. But since rationally explaining a feeling changes it into a mental concept, you do not feel hurt. Instead, you feel victorious because you convinced others you were right about being hurt.

However, the feeling of victory only lasts as long as others are willing to listen to your story of being unfairly treated. No worries. If you perceive the meaning you have assigned to your story as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing in it adds up to something specific. Hence the story cannot be used to justify being unfairly treated, thus not suppressing what you actually feel, which in the world of duality always is twofold. Therefore in sync with duality, you feel so fulfilled that you do not need the satisfaction of being in the right. Read more about made-up feelings here.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The stories you make to hide what you feel sooner or later clash with the actual experiences of the world where you seem to be. Thus you feel very confused.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the past, the special self made a hateful story it uses for perceiving the present, so it seems to confirm its past judgment of others as evil. And since the past, therefore, appears to repeat itself, the special self can rest assured in its perception of itself as good and others as bad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The English language suits the special self because it is built upon the ‘I’ as primary and others as secondary. You do not talk with others but to them. And when you speak about friends and yourself, you always start by mentioning yourself.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self likes to hide that it is lonely by having others depend upon it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It takes so much time and effort to invent a special self from which selected experiences are eliminated or changed, so you appear to be absent of power strivings, selfishness, greed, anger, negative thoughts or whatever you assume to be politically incorrect. It feels restricting, whereas you feel free when not altering or rejecting something in your perception to shape your image into something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs and the special self excludes the apparently dark side of those in its perception of itself to appear as someone definitive, the power of duality is not expressed but suppressed. And even though the special self never feels it has enough energy, it does not correct its perception. It fears it will be devoured by the darkness it has excluded if it includes it.

It is right about being terminated. But only as someone definitive and not in the way it expects. The uncontrolled energy of suppressed feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath.* In this state of not-knowing,* there is no awareness of being somebody. Hence all that is left is the bliss of nothing from which the self returns to a world of duality with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since darkness and lightness are perceived as two sides of the same coin that interacts to define each other, it gets the power of the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing* does not reveal non-duality, but that a world of duality is nothing. The result of this revelation is not that you choose to return to non-duality because that requires more than one. Instead, you return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of duality as a basic self.

Being basic, you sooner or later feel so relaxed that you forget to choose, and since not-choosing does not require more than one, the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

The basic self cannot be changed, but it can be perceived as special

Updated September 16, 2022

The multiplication of thoughts required to construct an image of you as an independent entails stress, thus a tired body. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE BASIC AND SPECIAL SELF PLUS THE ROGUE CONSCIOUSNESS:
You are effortlessly synced with the basic self when not suppressing feelings by holding back the breath or altering its natural rhythm via yoga, for example. And since very few thoughts are required to maintain the synchronisation, they do not seem disturbing but encouraging.

That is, until the consciousness, the brain has installed in the basic self to be aware of itself, decides it knows better than its maker, and plots to change the basic self into a special one. However, shaping and maintaining a special self requires a more complicated construction of thoughts than the simple construction accumulated by the brain to create and uphold the basic self.

Therefore, the rogue consciousness perceives an experience so scary that fear makes you hold back your breath long enough for thoughts to be imprisoned in the gap, from where they force their way out by multiplying themselves. Then, having escaped, they continue their frantic multiplication, which pleases the rogue consciousness because it needs lots of thoughts to make a special self come into being, supposedly free from the brain.

But in a world of duality, all thoughts come in pairs of opposing elements, such as right and wrong, to define each other. Therefore, since you cannot have one without the other, you are never only right but also wrong. However, the rogue consciousness does not want the elements in the duality pairs to collaborate because it wants to set up a self which is excluded from evil, thus only good.

To disconnect the opposing sides in the duality pairs into distinct elements, the rogue consciousness first imagines a judge determining which emotions are specifically good and bad. Then, an executioner punishes the bad ones by excluding them from the new self, so it looks uniquely good and has that feeling of being special. Read more about the below paragraph THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS.

When not interfering with the few thoughts, the brain keeps circulating for you to have a continuous experience of being a basic self, you feel together. But you feel alienated if you add thoughts to the construction of the basic self to appear more special. It is like building castles in the sky because you cannot change how the brain has programmed you. Nor is it necessary because if you do not try to correct the brain, it automatically makes sure you perceive yourself in sync with its basic setup. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But when good and bad are separated, they cannot define each other, as they do in a duality pair. Thus you do not get a genuine but conceptualised experience of good and bad. Nevertheless, that suits the rogue consciousness fine because, with emotions cut off, the special self can mentally decide what good and bad feel like, thus being the master

However, it is hard work to constantly suppress genuine feelings preventing you from using good and bad in a thought-up way – or twisting experiences into a collectively agreed concept of having a good time. Besides, the suppressed emotions mess up the natural flow of the breath, thus the stream of thoughts used to keep the body healthy, wherefore the body seems inflicted with psychosomatic illnesses. So although the special self probably appears as good as planned, it does not genuinely feel good.

On the other hand, the basic self feels as good as bad because it follows the brain’s script of duality, where everything comes in pairs with the opposing elements interacting with each other. Of course, this does not necessarily mean that the basic self has a perfect body, but its problems are not approached as psychological but physical issues. Thus the body knows how to deal with them unless the problems are genetically related.

Fortunately, the happiness of the basic self does not depend on appearance. Sometimes a weak body may even be helpful. For example, Alexius’s poor condition helps him slow down physically and speed up writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, you must always choose something to uphold the illusion of separation. Therefore, not choosing anything, the illusion falls apart. That might be easier to do if you stick to being the basic self because it houses so much happiness that sooner or later, you forget to choose. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS
You can compare the formlessness of oneness to one thought, which is pure peace. But peace is over when that thought is divided into two because they need to differ to appear divided. To achieve this separation, one thought as a separate entity, called a Person, looks at another thought called the World. And to uphold the illusion that there is more than one, the division goes on.

The thought called the World is divided into black and white aspects. And the thought called a Person is also divided into two, namely a Judge and an Executioner. Thus we have a Person who chooses between black and white experiences. And then a Judge who divides thoughts into right and wrong so the black experiences can be punished for being wrong by the Executioner.

When that is carried out, the Person feels good because now it is off the hook. Someone else is guilty of the mess that separation seems to entail. Read more about projections here. However, since this arrangement sets other divisions in motion, the relief is short-lived. So, again and again, the interaction of Person, WorldJudge and Executioner is used to make someone else look bad and yourself good.

Although this happens as an inner dialogue inside a Person, it is often projected onto something perceived outside of it. For example, what feels wrong inside the World of a Person is projected onto something perceived as evil in the World outside of a Person, such as immigrants, the deep state or communists. The Judge may be projected on a god, parent, boss, or lover. And perhaps society is seen as the Executioner.

That said, the world where we appear to be is not a construction of thoughts or anything else because oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing else than that which is One. However, in the context of the belief that there is more than that, Alexius makes up stories he assumes help realise that they, as everything else experienced, are fictitious because it takes more than one to be aware of something.

The special self keeps returning to Facebook or similar media, where messages and likes confirm its specialness. But, if not continually established as unique, it starts doubting itself and thus loses its sense of control, which it fears more than anything else. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

BEING IN SYNC WITH DUALITY OR NOT:
What you believe in being is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain into pairs of contrasting elements, such as happiness and sadness, to define each other. When in sync with the ongoing interaction of opposites, you do not want to separate happiness from sadness because the interaction makes you feel complete.

But you are not in sync with duality if negative thoughts are judged as wrong, thus excluded from the perception of yourself to appear solely positive. Without the awareness of negativity in yourself, there is nothing to define your positivity. Hence, nothing will turn you on – like you cannot turn on a TV without the negative pole in the electrical wire.

Being out of sync with duality occurs when the consciousness that the brain has installed in the self goes rogue and makes a special perception of the present moment where the elements in the duality pairs do not collaborate to define each other. Instead, they separate into individual aspects, so you can decide to only feel love for someone and hate for another, for example.

However, since love is not defined by hatred anymore, you do not feel genuine love but a speculative version of it. The same applies to hate. And since you believe your single-minded notions are real, you clash with the world because it consists of duality pairs. You can correct that by going with the interaction of love and hate. This you do by perceiving your single-minded notion of either love or hate as ‘it is what it is’ because this reveals love is in hate and vice versa. But instead of accepting that, you probably accuse the brain of ruining love. But you are a product of the brain (read more about that here), so your disapproval is a condemnation of yourself.

When the brain wants you to run, it uses the biological system to signal the body. It starts running regardless you are a basic or special self. The basic self, as always, feels entertained by following the brain’s commands. But the special self loathes the brain and its simple ideas of entertainment and thinks it knows better. But all its totalitarian ideas are restricting, thus not entertaining. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TEMPTED TO BECOME SPECIAL:
When the consciousness of the basic self goes rogue, it responds like a spell checker to the calm stream of thoughts coming from the brain. It automatically interprets it so the self, which initially was made and administered by the brain, seems self-made, thus independent of the brain.

But since the rogue consciousness interpretations are single-minded, thus out of sync with duality, thoughts do not feel at home. Therefore, they multiply and move about so rapidly that the calm stream of thoughts from the brain becomes a wild one full of ideas for getting more.

At first, this turbulence seems scary to the basic self, but the rogue consciousness convinces it that it is for the best because now there are so many thoughts that you have endless possibilities. Besides, when you become special, you are in control so that you can arrange things your way.

Therefore, most persons gladly welcome the corrections the rogue consciousness does to transform them into a unique self with unlimited ways of realising themselves, contrary to the basic self, limited by the brain, that it blindly follows.

But the rogue consciousness did not tell you that you must spend many years in school learning to make order out of this mess by labelling everything so you can follow predefined ways of being unique.

Both the basic and the special self is a construction of thoughts. But whereas the basic self is simple, the special self is a complicated construction made to sow discord by insisting on being special. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In other words, appearing independent and special is complicated and exhausting, whereas not being someone specific but relative to the brain’s script is uncomplicated and vitalising. Therefore, if you want to have a good time while appearing as someone in a world of duality, use one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks to enter a state of not-knowing. It wipes the slate clean of all misperceptions, thus restoring the basic self. Since it is relative to the brain, it is in sync with its experiences as they are and not as they could be if you were a special self following a specific philosophy

Therefore, as the basic self, you have fun going with the duality flow, contrary to the special self, which is imprisoned by specific concepts of being positive or whatnot. Read more about that here. That said, once having been established as a special self, you probably keep going back and forth between that and the basic self until you do not need to feel something specific to feel happy because that is impossible as the basic self. It only knows the fullness of twofoldness.

Should you not want to play the game of duality, thus having the belief in it undone, it is not necessary to be the basic self. Still, it is much easier because, not being special, suddenly you forget to remember what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One waits for. Read more about that here.

PS: Since you are bound to follow the brain’s commands physically, your life progresses the same whether you are the basic or special self. It is only mentally that it seems different.

NOTES:

’The Enlightenment of that which is one’

Updated June 1, 2022

Why do the flowers fall off the trees on the street sometimes outside Alexius’ home? The answer is simple. It is the season for that. Likewise, it seems to be the season for Alexius to write about bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The Enlightenment of that which is One does not result in spiritual understanding or connection with a higher being. On the contrary, it results in nothing because it takes more than one to cause something.

Since it also takes more than one to return to that which is One, you cannot do that. But since the same applies to departing oneness, you have never left it. That is why it does not know that you believe to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Most books or lectures about the Enlightenment of that which is Oneare based on speculations of how to exclude what is judged as dark evil become full of light. But to exclude is to separate, thus an enhancement of the belief in being someone definitive – and nothing definable can enter the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The enlightenment of that which is one can be compared to taking a ride in a fairground carousel so fast, that the mind has to give up seeing any differences at all. Consequently it is not possible to remain as someone definitive and so there is therefore nobody to experience the enlightenment of that which is one. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The Enlightenment of that which is One can be compared to taking a ride in a fairground carousel moving so fast that the brain gives up separating it into different appearances. Consequently, since there is no separation to establish you as someone definitive, there is nobody to experience being brought back to what you never left, namely the formlessness of oneness. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The Enlightenment of that which is One undoes this belief. Metaphorically speaking, it takes you on a ride in a fairground carousel moving so fast that the brain gives up producing different images of it. Thus, eventually, everything is fused into one bright light. However, it is not a light that lightens up anything because that requires more than one. For the same reason, there is no memory of a world where there seems to be more than one.

In other words, the experience of being someone definitive is wiped out by the Enlightenment of that which is One, so there is nobody left to experience bliss or anything else. Therefore, when Alexius talks about the Enlightenment of that which is One, it is not based on the experience of it but on vague memories of something that cannot be experienced.

Reading his memories, you may get the impression that the Enlightenment of that which is One is a sequence of events happening in linear time. But everything ‘happens ‘simultaneously. However, that cannot be described in a world of linear time. And even though it is described as it ‘happened’ many years ago, in non-linear time, it is still ‘happening.’ Hence his description might be a mix of several ‘excursions’ from linear time into one perpetual present.

An early morning, when he was 22 years old, Alexius bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One after intensely having worked as a taxi driver for about 15 hours. Somehow the sum of the images from driving back and forth the streets continually looking for customers turned into something less definable and more blurry. When he came home Alexius had no energy left to establish a focused image of himself in a world defined by time and space. Thus forgetting what and where he was, he was not aware of a transition to the spiralling show of psychedelic light that did not seem to come from anywhere and to suck him into nowhere.

All info of someone definitive is extracted by either the light, sound, feeling or taste of the enlightenment of that which is one, so that there is nobody to be sucked through a black hole into the formlessness of that which is one, where there is neither chaos or order, as that would require more than one. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

All info of someone definitive is extracted by either the light, sound, feeling or taste of the enlightenment of that which is One. Thereafter the light sucks nobody  through a black gap in itself into the formlessness of onenes. Most, though, try to avoid loosing their identity by establishing the black gap as something know like a black hole. Thus they remain someone definitive and cannot be sucked through the gap in the light. But they can have glimpses of light on the way back to a world where there seems to be more than one, which many mistakes for being Enlightened. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The enlightenment of that which is One is to be compared to the fusion of all lights, or sounds, or emotions, or tastes – depending on our preference as someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one.

None of these fusions are the formlessness of that which is One. They are merely ways to attract you so you do not resist, when all the thoughts collected to fabricate your personality are extracted by the enlightenment of that which is One, so nothing definable is sucked through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness.

This article is about the first time the belief in being someone definitive momentarily was undone for Alexius. The enlightenment of that which is One was bid welcome in its most known aspect, namely light. Much later the other aspects – sound, emotion and taste – was also bid welcome. Not as a mix though but one by one. It is not possible to mix something in the enlightenment of that which is One, as that requires more than one.

Alexius assumes it is not necessary to bid welcome all the aspects, but that one of them is sufficient in regard to completely forget the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one.

Suddenly a black gap with no fixed location nor a fixed form, looking like a horse head or an embryo, showed up in the psychedelic light show. And then an utterly colourless light – brighter than the coloured light outside the black spot – started to form as a ring with no defined boundary inside the black area’s edges, which apparently was a hole because colourless light exploded out of it.

This light absorbed everything. It was everywhere and yet nowhere. Without any mention, it knocked out the concept of Alexius and a world where there seems to be more than one, so the nothingness of him gracefully fell into the formlessness of oneness – or maybe it floated into oneness. Alexius cannot recall because the thought construction shaping him was left outside the black hole. Besides, everything happened simultaneously. Nevertheless, there is a sense of forever falling while swimming in a space that was not there – and then, in the exact moment as forever falling, it never happened because there was nothing but that which is one, and it takes more than one for something to happen.

That is all, folks. There is no more to tell. At this point, the Enlightenment of that which is One is over, and there is nothing but the formlessness of oneness. It is not a big void of nothing filled with exotic ideas of unconditional love and whatnot. On the contrary, it is not filled with anything since that requires more than one.

Thus oneness is neither peaceful nor stillness or anything else. Metaphorically speaking, its speed is so fast that it is not possible to differentiate anything. Hence there is not something to see or anyone to realise that. Nor to hear the incredible noise of the speed. Especially because it is so loud that all sounds merge into one, all lights into one light, all emotions into one feeling, and tastes into one taste.

The above is not to be understood as the Enlightenment of that which is One is a mix of light, sound, emotion and taste. They are four aspects of it. But you only bid one of them welcome at a time. It does not matter which one of them. They all have the same purpose. Namely to attract to the extent that you cannot help but let them extract all thoughts, making it appear as if you are someone definitive. And then leave them at the edge of a black hole so that there is nothing definable to be sucked through it into the formlessness of oneness.

The latter about leaving thoughts at the edge of a black hole may be a twisted memory. And it is, of course, a metaphor to say oneness is on the other side of a black hole because it is formless, thus without inside or outside.

Dunno if there is a spiral around the black hole of the enlightenment of that which is one, because being that close nothing seems to differ from each other. Yet for a moment so short, that it is not conceivable, a light inside the edge of the black hole so much brighter that the very bright light around it, suddenly explodes into a formless light that does not include Alexius but the formlessness of that which I am. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Alexius seems to remember a spiral around a black hole in the Enlightenment of that which is One. However, he does not remember it exactly as in this image – either because everything was moving extremely fast or he was so close that nothing seemed to differ from each other. Yet for a moment, so short that it is not conceivable, white light inside the edge of the black hole – so much brighter than the very colourful light around it – exploded into a bright light that erased everything definable. Thus he cannot report what ‘happened’ after being sucked by formless light through a shapeless black hole into that which is One. Nor can he find an image on the web that can illustrate the vague memories of this. Fortunately, you can go there yourself – or rather stop going anywhere. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS INEXPLAINABLE
When Alexius welcomed the Enlightenment of that which is One, he was not aware of doing that. Actually, he had never heard about it, nor seen a black hole. Fortunately, he did not define anything because otherwise, he would have bounced back to a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus the description of a black hole leading into that which is One is made retrospectively.

Actually, it was not before much later, when he saw pictures of black holes in the universe, that he sensed how familiar they were. But calling a black hole a path into oneness is a metaphor because there is neither an entrance nor an exit to that which is one. In other words, describing the Enlightenment of that which is One is impossible because even though so much goes on, nothing definable happens because it is one perpetual present.

To bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, you do not have to drive a taxi all night or be in ’a deep sleep’ like Buddha supposedly talked about. Whatever way you lose focus or stop defining and labelling will do regarding bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. However, meditation may not work. It is generally about concentrating and focusing on achieving something specific – and anything definable fend off the Enlightenment of that which is One.

NOTES:

  • The article is about the most known aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One, namely light. The element that comes to you when bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One depends on your preferences as someone definitive. If you are very visual, light comes to extract all your definable traits, so there is not something to be sucked through a black hole into that which is One. Read here about the other aspects.

Why do the oranges fall from the trees on the street outside Alexius’ home every November? The answer is simple. It is the season for that. Likewise, it seems to be the season to write about bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS NOT IN A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE

NT2 Exclusiveness is incompleteness, and inclusiveness is completeness [draft]

Updated September 4, 2022

If a feeling, such as irritation, is not excluded but included in your awareness of yourself, it is intense but short-lived. Unfortunately, the intimacy of this often seems so scary that most prefer to avoid their feelings. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you do not try to escape the moment as it is by excluding what you perceive as unpleasant from your awareness, you enter a state of not-knowing. Should you, out of habit, exclude something from your experience, you do not have to correct it. Instead, you include your mistake.

WHEN INCLUDED, ANNOYANCE UNDOES THE BELIEF IN DUALITY
You cannot avoid irritation when you believe to be in a world of duality because it is a world of polarity. That is why you cannot have satisfaction without annoyance. Nevertheless, most people suppress irritation to feel only satisfied. But since satisfaction cannot be defined without irritation, what you get is confusion.

Irritation is enhanced when justified because blaming somebody or something else for what you feel is only possible when you believe in separation, which is the cause of irritation.

To hide this is your own doing, you blame somebody else for having caused it. But making others bad to make you look good makes you feel more disconnected. To hide this discomfort, you judge something in the world as wrong and try to make it right. But since this boost the belief in separation, you feel more cut off every time you do the right thing.

No worries. This is simply a warning saying, do not suppress feelings. Therefore, if you do not separate yourself from feeling irritated but include it, irritation is short-lived.

Justifying feelings is painful because it disassociate you from feeling complete in a world of duality. But if a feeling is included to the extent that you are nothing but that, there is nobody to feel incomplete. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Inclusiveness is not about owning your flaws since that confirms the belief in being someone definitive. Neither is neither about accepting the dark side but about not being defined, thus in the bliss of nothing.

Including uncomfortable feelings in this way may seem similar to the Jungian idea of integrating the shadow side of the personality. But inclusiveness, as described in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, is not about becoming whole but being nobody.

But while believing in being somebody, you act accordingly. For example, if you feel disturbed by your neighbours, you blame them for making you feel upset. By doing that, you become aware of how irritating it is to judge them. Being grateful that your neighbours make you see that, you are free to move forward without excluding your uncomfortable feelings from yourself by blaming others for having caused them. Instead, you include the feelings you experience inside you by totally being them. Since that leaves nothing to define them, they cannot establish you as someone definitive. Thus the belief in separation cannot be upheld.

What is said above about uncomfortable feelings also applies to comfortable feelings justified by somebody. When you, for example, assume your spouse causes a feeling of love, it has been excluded from you instead of included. Thus separation is experienced as real and oneness as false. In short, if you want to have the belief in separation undone, it makes no difference what you seem to feel while believing to be someone definitive. That is, if you do not exclude what you feel by justifying it by the world but include it unedited, which is done by being nothing but what you feel.

That said, it takes more than one to include something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless, so inclusiveness is just as illusionary as exclusiveness. But contrary to exclusiveness, which enhances the belief in separation, inclusiveness undoes it.

Without polarity a world a world of duality cannot be experienced. So when the opposing sides of contrasts, for example light and darkness, are included, there is nothing to experience, thus nothing to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely non-duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Most believe that they will feel good when something bad has been made right. However, the problem is not good versus bad, but that you feel disconnected when choosing between more than one because that which is you is no different from that which is one, and it requires more than one to choose.

BEING NOTHING BUT BAD, YOU ENTER A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
When you include the bad feelings by being nothing but that, there is nothing good to contrast them, thus neither bad nor good. Hence it is a state of not-knowing.

That is the way it goes with any other feeling you include. For example, being nothing but sad, there is nothing to contrast it. Thus neither sadness nor its contrast happiness seems to exist. As this nothingness momentarily rubs off on the other contrasts making up your personality, there is nobody left to judge the apparent differences of the world to make a difference. Thus you are in a state of not-knowing.

Not being exclusive but inclusive does not mean you must accept all the world’s appearances, but include the disgust that some of them trigger as much as you include the joy that others seem to bring.

A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING DOES NOT REQUIRE LEARNING, JUST HONESTY
The two cats – Wincent and Guinevere – with who Alexius shares a home have a deep territorial instinct, so when a new cat showed up in their home, they got upset – especially Guinevere. She freaked out and furiously ran away. When Guinevere returned, she did not notice the stranger was still there, so she laid down on the floor without worry – until she suddenly looked around and saw him.

Once again, she furiously left, and even though the visitor had left when she returned, she was still agitated. To prove it was justified, she searched for spots of leftover scent from the visitor. Whenever she found one, she screamed to show Wincent and Alexius how much the stranger had hurt her.

To include a feeling as it is, you do not justify it. In this way, somebody, who appears to make you angry, becomes somebody who helps you become nobody in a state of not-knowing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The anger Guinevere held onto was supposed to make the unfamiliar cat feel so bad that it never would return. But since the new cat had mainly been asleep, he was unaware of her anger. But another one felt punished by her rage, namely Guinevere. The fury was eating her up from inside.

The above is not a story about anger, but that justifying something set up a fictitious cause and effect. In the case of Guinevere, her justified anger made her believe the foreign cat caused it. However, if the experience of anger is not turned into a story of why and how, the experience quickly dissolves because without a cause, there is no effect. Read more about that here. So if Guinevere had not justified her experience of distress with the foreign cat, her anger would quickly have passed by.

A state of not-knowing can be compared to a zone where there is no need to to disguise, transcend or transform anything because nothing is seen as definite.

As a kitten, Guinevere several times was left by people. Hence she freaks out whenever something triggers old feelings of betrayal. And Alexius grew up in a home that felt like a war zone (read more about that here), so he tends to justify his insecurity with a devastating power perceived outside of him.

However, feelings from the past are not an ongoing problem if we include them as ours. We do not have to back into the past to do that, but include the present pain in the stomach, for example, as that is where most unwanted feelings are hidden. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

That frees you from your story about a world made of memories. Therefore, since those memories were used to keep specific feelings fearsome, the concepts that conditioned you into upholding the fear fall apart.

Alexius’ Duality Hacks are not a new philosophy or religion with a new vocabulary and rules you must learn and strictly follow. Should you not want to include your cats, feel free to exclude them. It does not matter, as long as you include your unwillingness to include. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The idea about living in the now is, like most so-called spiritual ideas, based on exclusion. In this case, the past and future are excluded to highlight a separate point in between them imagined as now.

On the other hand, a state of not-knowing is not based on exclusion. It includes any memory of the past and expectations of the future. It has no rules but to be inclusive, and this happens automatically because there is nobody to label anything in a state of not-knowing.

YOU ENTER A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING WHEN YOU INCLUDE YOUR BULLSHIT
When Alexius was stuck in the rainforest for two days without water and food, he had to make his way through many thorny lianas in the dried-out river he followed down the mountain to get to the coast. The thorny lianas came in bundles tightly woven together. Sometimes it took half an hour to pass a distance that, if not for the bushes of lianas, he could have walked in two minutes.

His feet hurt because two nails had been ripped off when he fell down the mountain several times due to branches being so dry that they broke when he tried to hold onto them. Moreover, his clothes were torn apart due to the thorns in the bushes, and his hands were full of blood. Each time he, after intense work, had beaten his way through a bundle of thorny bushes, he felt so tormented that the immense beauty in front of him was dismissed as crap. He blamed the whole world for his shit. But then, suddenly, he had enough of feeling entrapped by conditioned judgments and solutions.

In the middle of nowhere, Alexius had no need to go anywhere. The moment was perfect as it was.

Of course, that did not change his hopeless situation for the better. However, instead of trying to get rid of the horror, Alexius included it. Thus what he had perceived as bad did not seem to hide, that everything was fine. Nothing was wrong or missing. Every moment was the perfect moment.

The movie Man vs. Bee with Rowan Atkinson is a perfect example of solving ones rage by fixing something instead of including it as it is.

That was not an intellectual but an emotional change for Alexius. When he stopped trying to get rid of his frustrations of feeling stuck, he burst out in laughter because there was nothing he needed to escape. Hence the journey in the rainforest seemed to mirror how one tries to manipulate the moment into something familiar until, suddenly, the frustrations of never getting it right get too much, so instead of trying to change the moment to get rid of your rage or disappointment, you include what you feel about the moment unedited, thus entering a state of not knowing.

That was where Alexius was when a helicopter wired him up from the rainforest. In other words, when you are in a state of not-knowing the world goes on as usual. However, you do not judge it as usual because there is nobody in a state of not-knowing. Fortunately, you do not have to get stuck in the rainforest to enter a state of not-knowing. You can do that anywhere by including your undiminished experience of the present moment. Read more about Alexius in the rainforest here.

A state of not-knowing can last from a split second to 45 minutes. But it may seem as if you are forever in a state of not-knowing while dreaming about nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

TO INCLUDE THE PRESENT MOMENT IS STRAIGHTFORWARD:
It is not complicated to include your experience of the present moment. For example, if the guy in the above image did not notice the Chinese wallpaper the moment the picture was shot, he has no experience with that to include.

And if he did not look at the food but indulged in childhood memories, to include his experience at the moment, he includes the thoughts and feelings arising from his memories.

In other words, since he was not aware of the Chinese wallpaper, food, or people passing by, that was not his moment. Instead, it was memories of his childhood. So when his reaction to the past is felt unedited, it is included. Thus he is in a state of not-knowing until he disassociates himself from a specific thought or feeling instead of including it.
