Notes on ‘The Enlightenment of that which is One’ and glimpses of it

You know this pic is not how the physically world really look. It is rather a fantasy, thar is only possible due to physical life, that it therefore is a symbol of. Likewise the physical world is a symbol of life even though the physical world has nothing to do with life.

The outward-facing senses create such expressive images that we choose to believe a world where everything is separated by time and space is real. However, when those senses are entirely turned off, there is no time and space. Hence nothing to hide that the abstractness of the inward-facing senses flows are absorbed by an explosion coming out of a black hole or maybe sucked it. There is no way to know which way it is because this is the Enlightenment of that which is One, and it takes more than one to be aware of something.

Also, an explosion may not be the best word to use because it is nothing but empty space carrying the nothingness of you into the formlessness of oneness. In other words, nothing happens. It is not necessary because you have never left oneness. It is impossible because it is formless, thus endless.

Research from the University of California Santa Barbara has proved that human cells and neutron stars have something in common. Both are built of layers, looking like a parking garage with many floors that are connected via steps.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Although oneness is endless, it does not last forever. On the contrary, it lasts no time because it is one perpetual present. However, this never-ending story cannot be told in a world defined by time and space. You must leave that world to get it. Fortunately, when you do that, the only thing that ends is the belief in time and space.

However, reading this article, you still believe in a tangible world constructed of layer upon layer of thoughts, added so that it seems there are different levels in a world defined by time and space. Within this context, it also appears as if there are levels of turning the outward-facing senses off and that the more the inward-facing senses take over, the more you have glimpses of Enlightenment.

However, these glimpses are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because there are no levels in that which is One. Nevertheless, the glimpses of Enlightenment slowly but surely undo the belief in differences, so someday you bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, and since it is timeless so it takes no time to have the rest of the belief in separation undone.

If you, after having bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, reappear in a world defined by time and space, it will be as someone definitive without the formlessness of oneness. Yet you have vague memories of it, and that is enough to know there is no more than that which is One, wherefore all experiences are fake because it takes more than one to experience something.

To sum up: When partially turning off the outward-facing senses, the inward-facing senses is only partly triggered, so you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is an experience you have while still aware of appearing as someone in the world of the outward-facing senses.

These glimpses can be compared to watching a movie trailer. But then again, it is not really so because both the trailer and the film are something you experience. And the Enlightenment of that which is One, bid welcome by completely turning off the inward-facing senses, is experienced as that requires more than one.

The technique for tasting oneness (see the previous article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them), Alexius likes to do during the day. He does not do it for the taste of it but for the indifference it induces.

Being indifferent, he is not distracted from going with the flow of the ongoing glimpses of Enlightenment, provided he is not dealing with something that craves much attention in the world of the outward-facing senses. If he is involved in something that demands much attention, the indifference towards it ensures that his perception of it is founded on glimpses of Enlightenment.

In other words, the world is experienced, but not as if he is in it. It is more like sitting in a cinema, imagining being in the world on the screen.

This image of the same mountain, as in the other pictures in this article, again shows that you can have many different glimpses of it and that they are all coloured by the one having the glimpses. The Enlightenment of that which is One is not coloured by the one experiencing. It is impossible to do that since it would require more than one. In other words, there is nothing personal about the Enlightenment of that which is One. Yet, describing it via vague memories is like everything else, where more than one seems to be involved, coloured by the personality of the describer as well by the one interpreting the description. Depending on the strength of the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, it can be like momentarily dying from the world of the outward-facing senses. So if you are occupied by something there, it can be disconcerting.

Glimpses of Enlightenment, which many mistakes for the Enlightenment of that which is One, may leave you with the impression that it is possible to fuse heaven and earth, thus creating a better world. But neither dictators, rich people, political or so-called spiritual-minded persons have ever succeeded in creating a world as they think it should be.

Instead of acknowledging this, most, who have had one or more glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, start teaching how to make the world better. They put together a new philosophy based on their interpretation of one or more glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, mixed up with speculative ideas about spirituality and maybe ancient traditions of meditation and whatnot.

For example, they may encourage not being conditioned so that you can be free in the present moment. But the experience of that or anything else is based on the conditioned belief that you are someone defined by time and space. However, it is not a fact, but a belief, that you blindly follow. You choose to be conditioned by it so that it seems to be a fact, that you are someone definitive in a world defined by time and space instead of the formlessness of that which is One.

Mixing things may work well for you in a world defined by time and space. But not in the formlessness of oneness. Since blending something requires more than one, it is not possible to mix anything, so the idea of combining the different facets of the Enlightenment of that which is one fences it off.

That said, if you do not do the taste of life technique for the sake of the taste but for its benefits regarding defocusing, you can do this while being devoted to either seeing, hearing or feeling glimpses of Enlightenment.

If you perceive somebody to cheat, reject you, or do something else judged as unfair, you acknowledge to be mistaken. Hence you set yourself and others free from being defined by the world of the outward-facing senses. It is in your best interest to set everybody free, even though you think that they do not deserve it. Setting them free, the world of the outward-facing senses fades out, and the door opens to the world of the inward-facing senses. Thus you have glimpses of Enlightenment of that which is One.

You do not find the Enlightenment of that which is One like you find like other things in a world defined by time and space. But when you do not try to find anything, there is not something to hide, you are not someone definable but one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One. In other words, no need to look for Enlightenment but for what you use to hide it.

The Enlightenment of that which is one is like being transported in a driverless car that is programmed to take you to your favourite aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is one, so you carelessly forget to define the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one, and they as one bright light, tone, emotion or taste carry the nothingness of you back into the formlessness of oneness.

Enlightenment and the glimpses of it are in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings described in a certain way. But elsewhere, it may be described in another way – just like two persons often describe the same cup of coffee in different ways.

So do not wait for the Enlightenment of that which is One, or the glimpses of it, to be revealed precisely as described in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. In other words, you do not have to fit into the terminology of Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. Also, trying to extract a specific way to the Enlightenment of that which is One, or the glimpses of it from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, will not help you. It is better to forget all words about it and thrust its light, sound, feeling, or taste to do its thing when you partly are willing not to be someone definitive.

The after-effect of ‘a state of not-knowing’ [under construction]

The after-effect of a state of not-knowing is a certainty that the thoughts needed for being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one automatically are produced by the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article is a continuation of A state of not-knowing and how to get there.

THE AFTER-EFFECT OF A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
You need to return from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being somebody after 20 minutes, 45 at most. If not, there is nobody to repeatedly confirm that the experiences fabricated by the brain are something, wherefore they are exposed as nothing. Therefore, since there does not seem to be something keeping the brain together, it falls apart.

That is why you should return relatively quickly from a state of not-knowing to the awareness of being someone if you do not want to end that experience. Since the slate has been wiped clean in a state of not-knowing, you come back to the conscious experience of being someone without the desire to be independent. Hence you are free to follow the brain’s script. See hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

This feels like starting from zero, so you slowly stretch the body. But not in a systemised way with coordinated movement, breathing, and meditation. However, since it looks like Tai Chi or Qigong and most special seekers always hunt for something it can mimic to appear spiritual, they assume they will magically enter a higher state by imitating these slow movements in a focused mode. A state of not-knowing, though, does not arise from focusing but from defocusing. That said, it can also arise from being deeply involved in something, as long as it is not done per a special philosophy or to escape the present.

Returning with the slate wiped clean from a state of not-knowing to the experience of being someone, the relationships you used to stand behind may seem dull, as you need to exploit others to appear special (read more about that here).

As long as the after-effect of a state of not-knowing lasts, which can be from a few seconds to several years, you rely on the brain to produce experiences of being someone in a tangible world – just like you depend on it to make the experiences of you as someone in a dream.

Going along with the experiences as the brain makes them, and not as you think they should be, feels like sleepwalking. It is effortless unless you break the magic of the after-effect and do things your way, which is very stressful. But fortunately, the stress can be used for a new take-off into the empty breath and the bliss of nothing, from where you again return renewed to the conscious experience of being someone.

Each time you return from a state of not-knowing to the belief in being someone definitive and have forgotten the bliss of not believing in being that, the empty breath remembers it for you – also if you only remember the empty breath once in a while. And like it syncs being nobody with being somebody, so you can move around in nothing as if it is something in a state of not-knowing, it also does that in its after-effect. But of course, the ratio is different.

In a state of not-knowing, there is so little consciousness of being somebody that there is nobody to perceive the apparently different experiences to make a difference. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing. In the after-effect, the empty breath syncs the bliss of nothing with the conscious experience of something, so the nothingness is forgotten when you need to be aware of driving a car, for example. In other words, in a state of not-knowing, you are mainly nobody, and in the after-effect, somebody.

Be aware that there is no will to perceive anything in a particular way in a state of not-knowing. And the transition from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone is not noticed because there was not somebody to be aware of being nobody in a state of not-knowing. Nor do you not know that the bliss of nothing has wiped the slate clean, so your perceptions automatically are generated in sync with the brain’s script. But suppose the happiness this entails feels too basic compared with the vague memories of bliss that eventually pop up from nowhere. In that case, you may twist the brain’s automatically generated perceptions into something special that seems to extend the memories of bliss. Hence, you appear to be more exciting than a servant of the brain. And since the world wants to be fooled, they do not see that this is a show to hide you feel inferior.

Thoughts and feelings may seem distant in a state of not-knowing, but when you return to the consciousness of being someone definitive, they are very close. In short, those making their own perception see the brain as their enemy. Thus they reject the happiness the brain infuses into its creations. And when they fail in making something better, they blame the brain. But those not altering the brain’s automatically generated perception of your reactions to its experiences are receptive to the shots of happiness coming from the brain. Hence they happily play the brain’s game of something, although they remember from a state of not-knowing that the game is nothing.

Should you forget that and, therefore, start perceiving the experience of something as real, the frustration this causes can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, so you again have the slate wiped clean and return to the consciousness of being someone synced with the brains fantasy of you as someone substantial in a tangible world.

This does not necessarily mean the slate remains clean. Your conditioned way of reacting to something may be so deeply rooted that you return to a familiar pattern of responding. But, no worries, a quick visit to a state of not-knowing, and you start over again with a clean slate in the brain’s fantasy world of something.

Sooner or later, you feel so entertained by this fantasy that you forget to remember being someone. Thus there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

APPENDIX:
To be in sync with the script of the brain does not mean you have to like it but that you have to relate to it and not as you think it should be per a particular philosophy. In other words, whether you respond with anger or joy to the brain’s script, you are in a dialogue with the brain, thus feeling its love.

But if you reject the brain’s script by responding to a story believed superior, such as socialism, you are not communicating with the brain but your fable about a better world. Hence you do not feel the brain’s love for you but are always looking for something better.

Having a perception in sync with the brain’s script is very easy. If you do not try to make a perception of your reaction to it, the brain does it automatically. Therefore, since you are in sync, you feel its love.

A world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to a movie of oneness played in slow motion

STEPPING INTO THE FULL UNCONTROLLED SPEED OF THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS, THUS ‘A STATE OF NOT KNOWING’
When you want time to process an experience, it is not to understand but shape it into a perception that matches your conditioned view of the world, thus avoiding feeling anxious.

Since it calls for more than one to be aware of something, that which is One cannot be realised. Therefore, if you dot not try to understand this article by taking your time to process it, you are on a timeless journey to oneness.

However, anxiety is preferable regarding not hiding that which is One because doubts prevent you from categorising thoughts and feelings. Hence they run as fast as they can back to their origin of nothing – just like a river hurries back to the sea when uncontrolled. Thus you are in a state of not knowing until you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or return to the consciousness of being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. It is only in the world of duality, that there appears to be movements, and that there can be more of it. In reality no movements can appear, because everything move so fast that it is one perpetual present as you can see illustrated in these pics of a fan.


In that which is One, everything moves so fast that there is no separation – like in the first image, where the extreme speed of the ceeling fan cancels out separation. However, when the fan is slowed down, there seems to be separation. Likewise, a world where there seems to be more than one appears to come into being when that which is One is imagined to slow down. In the movie Lucy, Scarlett Johansson demonstrates that when time is speeded up infinitely, there is nothing to see. This is comparable to that which is One. It is so speedy that there is no separation to define something. That is why it is formless, thus endless, and a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion.

ONENESS VERSUS A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
Oneness can be compared to a movie where it is impossible to distinguish anything from each other because it is played so fast that none of its frames can be seen. But when slowed down, there appears to be more than one frame. Hence you see a world where there seems to be more than one (see also You feel stressed from perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference).

So if you believe to be someone in the movie of a world where there seems to be more than one, you do not undo this belief by slowness but quickness because you need to speed up the film – or rather, your experience of it. Since that is a construction of thoughts, the faster they move, the more the frames appear to press on, and the less you get the experience of more than one.

The Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk plays extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, which produce overtones so trance-inducing, that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it.

This happens automatically if you do not organise thoughts into shapes of something recognisable. When thoughts are not trapped, they set off at a speed where it is impossible to hold onto them. Thus you enter a state of not knowing from where you return with the slate wiped clean to the awareness of being someone – or have your consciousness terminated by the Enlightenment of that which is One, so there are no experiences to hide there never was or will be anything than the formlessness of oneness.

If you close your eyes after having been deeply involved in something, physically or mentally, you may see it as a blurred picture that, like a frame of a movie, speeds up. It looks a bit like having vertigo, but if you keep your eyes closed , it will not disturb your normal perception of the world. Instead, its unrestrained energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath.

The same applies when you worry and do not try to pacify yourself but instead step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions. It ignites a take-off into the empty breath. See hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing. The grahic is quickly grabbed from the web.

In short, returning to oneness is not about slowing down thoughts, least of all stopping them. By doing that, you are stuck in a single frame of empty void separated from others in the context of the movie metaphor. This numbness of stillness is as far as you can get from that which is One because it is not deadlocked but free-flowing energy, moving at such a speed that everything is fused into the formlessness of oneness (see the first box).

Therefore, as already said, you undo the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one by speeding up thoughts to the extent that they do not appear to differ. Since that makes it impossible to experience something definable, there do not appear to be any shapes hiding the formlessness of oneness.

THE PURPOSE OF YOUR EXPERIENCES IS ENTERTAINMENT
When thoughts are not shaped into blocks of something that, like interlocking Lego bricks, are used to build an experience of you as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, they are recognised as meaningless. Thus their blankness reveals the bliss of nothing.

Since this explanation, like any other, requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is one, it is fictitious. Actually, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings is a fable within the fiction of a world where there seems to be more than one. But Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings is made to expose that anything requiring more than one is unreal. However, it is only in recognising this that you should not organise thoughts into specific shapes. Appearing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, thoughts must be set up in particular constructions to Alexius’this world. But maybe not in the way you expect.

What you perceive as real, imaginative or spiritual is based on the thoughts the brain has combined into specific shapes in the same way it composes a dream, namely turbulent, chaotic, unpredictable and incompatible with your rational perception of yourself and the world. Therefore, if this chaos seems to support your rationale, it is because you, in retrospect, interpret the irrational arrangements of the brain, so they seem connected per your reasoning.

However, it seems weird to the brain that you run around like headless chickens, trying to put it all together in a socialistic way, for example, instead of being entertained by the experiences it creates for you. The brain does not understand your logic. It only cares about entertainment. Like a magician, it likes pulling rabbits out of hats. For example, when you do the laundry, it may build up thoughts that make you start as normal. But to entertain you, it breaks the conformity by pulling you to the window to see a demonstration on the street. Going along with this, as you would if it was an impulse to go to the toilet, you feel amused and return energised to the laundry. That is all. There is nothing special to understand.

On the other hand, if you had planned to do the laundry linearly and tried to stick to that, going to the window would not seem entertaining but disturbing. Hence you blame the brain for distracting you and look for methods to control it, so you will be free to do things in your way.

When you do not wish to be in control, thoughts do not seem bothersome because there is no need to arrange them into something confirming you are in charge.

Playing along with the brain’s game, you are rewarded with so much happiness that, eventually, you have no more to ask for. Read more about that here. Hence that which is One does not appear to be clouded by a world where there seems to be more than one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But just like you do not control the course of a dream, you have no say in how things evolve when you believe to be awake. The brain is always in charge. You cannot avoid it if it has scripted you to go to the window. Read more about the brain’s script in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

That said, you can decide to go there slowly or fast to the window. But no matter your choice, the brain has already arranged the subsequent events, like every possibility in a computer game is composed by the writer. Hence nothing in the plot can be changed.

Astrology is an attempt to disregard the brain and make it look like you are governed by something else than the brain. The same applies to religious and spiritual doctrines. And the unfortunate belief that physical and non-physical issuess can be mixed. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

Nor is it necessary to change anything. When there is no attempt to change the game, you see it  ‘it is what it is’ (read more about this perception in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy). Therefore, since the fear of falling is as entertaining as the thrill of rising, there is no need for something specific to make you happy. Thus, since you never regret anything but enjoy everything, the belief in being someone definitive is undone while you feel entertained by it.

But being angry is also a terrific way to see a world where there seems to be more than one is a mirage. Because if you do not try to control the anger, its unbounded energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, your experiences of something are perceived as nothing. Hence there is nothing to uphold the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one as real.

5.2 You feel stressed from perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference [draft]

It is only in a world where there seems to be more than one that you can search for the meaning of life. Nevertheless, it is not to be found there or anywhere else because it takes more than one to find something, and life is that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The way letters are put together in various configurations makes it possible for us to attribute a special meaning to each shape. And when they are organised in rows divided by dots and commas, like in this article, they seem to make up a story written by somebody else than ourselves, thus confirming we are somebody specific in a world where there is more than one. But since the story that seems to prove this is pieced together of shapes attributed a meaning by yourself, the story is made by you. Consequently, it does not prove there is more than yourself.

Let us imagine that the letters making up the shapes we believe in establish a world where there is more than one are the same letters making up oneness. Unlike in the world where we believe in being and where everything is experienced to be separated by time and space, there is no time and space to keep anything apart in that which is One, as it requires more than one.

Hence the letters that oneness consists of cannot be distinguished from each other, thus not organised into shapes that, when added together in specific ways, seem to establish a story of us as somebody in a world defined by time and space. In other words, oneness is formless.

A WORLD DEFINED BY TIME AND SPACE IS A SLOWED-DOWN VERSION OF THE FORMLESSNESS OF ONENESS
It is not only because there is no space to separate the letters making up oneness that they cannot be differentiated from each other, but also because they move so fast that time stands still (read more about that here). Hence, it is impossible to organise them linearly – or in any other way.

In the context of our story about that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one, you could say the latter is a fantasy of oneness being slowed down. Hence there seems to be space between the otherwise shapeless, which gives them a shape of their own that separates them from each other. Here you can read more about the fantasy of a slowed-down version of oneness.

Furthermore, since there seems to be time to arrange the separated shapes in different combinations attributed to each their meaning, space and time establish separation as real, thus the formlessness of oneness as unreal.

In other words, the slowing down of oneness is an attempt to turn formlessness into thoughts representing specific shapes you can manipulate to your liking in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Hence you do not get back to oneness by slowing down the speed of thoughts via meditation or something else that pacifies you, so you seem unmoved by speeding with the Earth around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. Nor is the way back revealed by understanding this or anything else, as understanding something calls for more than one, thus enhancing the belief that there is more than that which is One.

A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TAKES NO TIME
It is not a fact but a make-believe that what you believe in being is real. It all falls apart if you do not attribute meaning to the letters in this article or something else that seems to be part of the story of what you are because when shapes make no sense, there is nothing to separate them and thus no time and space.

Since there is no more than oneness, nobody has ever left it. Thus going back takes no time.

The fastest way to not attribute meaning to something experienced is to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One). It promptly and relentlessly erases everything ever experienced. Therefore, since there are no memories from where an image of you as someone definitive can be recalled, there is nobody to experience being someone.

Therefore, even though you may forget, the empty breath remains by your side, so it gradually can undo your belief in being someone definitive while feeling entertained by being that.

Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, the empty breath does not erase your memories of being someone. But since the empty breath resides in the nothingness from where the brain makes the experiences of that, it knows what you experience to be is nothing. Thus, with the empty breath by your side, the experiences do not establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world – like within the context of such a world, what you appear to be in the virtual world of a computer game is not perceived as real (see hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive).

Of course, you could contemplate this yourself. But it quickly turns into a joyless debate of something instead of being the bliss of nothing that the wordlessness of the empty breath entails.

WHEN NOTHING IS NOT PERCEIVED AS SOMETHING
The change of size and weight from hefty to almost nothing – for example vinyl to CD to MP3 to streaming, and computer to smartphones to wearables – is a reminder that reality is sizeless because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to take up space.

For the same reason, oneness cannot be seen. That is why the purpose of the empty breath is not to reveal oneness but to reveal that what you experience as something is fabricated by the brain from nothing. And seeing nothing, there is not something to hide the formlessness of oneness – like when not perceiving a dream as something, it does not seem to hide you are in your bed. The empty breath accomplishes this while you simultaneously enjoy experiencing nothing as something. In other words, you do not have to change anything, and as already said, once having been connected with the empty breath is enough.

APPENDIX:
Some claim the amount of info coming from digital media is stressful. But that is most likely because they want to uphold a particular image of the world and therefore need to sort the info into what is adaptable and not. That is what makes it feel stressful, not the amount of info.

Fortunately, the more stressed you get, the faster it disappears if you do not slow down its pace but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Read more about that here.

Going everywhere and nowhere with ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

Although being in the bliss of nothing is straightforward, it may seem complicated if you assume thoughts must be controlled or stopped because focusing on them is impossible in the nothingness of bliss. Neither is focussing beneficial for getting there. On the contrary, when not hot holding onto thoughts by concentrating on them, they speed up until the explosion of their unedited energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its blissful state of not-knowing. GOING FROM THE ABDOMEN WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
When you connect with the empty breath, it may feel like you have two kinds of breaths. The well-known one that you probably, out of habit, struggle for by taking quick gasps of air or maybe slowing down to take deep breaths. And then the empty breath may feel like it does not supply you with enough air. But that is because it has a slower pace than you are used to, with a more extended break between breathing in and out. It keeps a healthy balance between breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide in a laid-back way.

It does not feel like you bring about the empty breath, but a ‘generator’ in the abdomen. Very gently, it first expands the abdomen, secondly the belly and lastly the chest. Then, after a short break, it goes the other way to contract the body. And so on. It feels like hardly any air is coming in and out of the nose. That is because the empty breath is experienced with the inward-facing senses, and since that requires the outward-facing senses to be turned down, so are physical movements.

But as long as you do not compare the experience of the empty breath with the physical one, it feels as if you get sufficient air from an inner breath. On the other hand, if you compare it with the physical breath, you will not feel the empty breath because it is not a physical experience. The same applies if you try to produce it.

Physical speaking, the breathing can be through the mouth if that suits you better. However, when it is through the nose, you can support the empty breath by using the mouth to get the side-effect of the taste of life, namely defocusing. Then you do not focus on the empty breath or something else. Hence you can be in the bliss of nothing. Please be aware that this article does not intend to present a factual explanation of breathing when the empty breath is in the driving seat but a description of how it may feel. Since it is felt via the inward-facing senses and the physical breath is felt by the outward-facing senses, the empty breath goes on undisturbed by the physical condition of your body.

Therefore, if you have an issue with the lungs that shortens the physical breath, you still get the whole experience of the empty breath as you stay with the inward-facing senses and patiently wait for the empty breath to fill your lungs with the bliss of nothing. Remember that since there was nothing before there was something, the nothingness of the empty breath gives you maximum charge if not expecting something.

The material generator of the physical breath is the muscle called the diaphragm, between the stomach and the chest (see Wikipedia). But, as already said, the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen. From there, you follow the flow of the empty breath to the top of the head while the body expands from the abdomen to the chest. At the same time, you stick to the thoughts and/or feelings popping up without editing them. In the top of the head, the gentle explosion of the unbounded thoughts and feelings erases the perception of your experience as someone so that you are in the bliss of nothing, thus indifferent to the world of something.

This state of not-knowing remains while the body contracts and you follow the flow of the empty breath down to the abdomen. From there, you start over again, so going up and down keeps you in a state of not-knowing, provided you do not perceive an appearance, like your spouse, to make a difference. This is not to say that a state of not-knowing resides in the flow of the physical breath, nor anywhere in the body or the aura. It is nowhere in particular. That is why it is obscured by the experiences of time and space that seem to confirm you as someone definitive in a tangible world.

If the flow that you follow going up and down is a more or less straight line, it feels like being in the swing of the empty breath. But if the flow is circular, you surf one of the circles in the empty breath. Or perhaps you listen to the transparent sound of it. See respectively the paragraph THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH, SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH and THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. If it feels natural to change between those ways of experiencing the empty breath, go with that – or maybe do them simultaneously.

But if you stay in a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time, you cannot return to the experience of being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. So if you want that, you better leave a state of not-knowing relatively quickly. By doing that, you return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since you come back unconditioned, it is easy to ignite a new take-off into the empty breath. After the box, we take a closer look at how you can quickly go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone.

When you every so often return to the empty breath, nothing remains a problem because the differences that appear to have caused it, are cancelled out the very moment you are with the empty breath.

That is, if you do not prevent the empty breath from cancelling out the differences by insisting on your work, for example, makes a difference. Fortunately, the frustration that seems to arise from claiming to know what is right can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

GOING UP AND DOWN AND NOWHERE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
Instead of remaining in a state of not-knowing when you leave the abdomen, you return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive by perceiving yourself to make a difference. Then you go with the empty breath to the head again while the body expands. On the way, you stop perceiving the thoughts and feelings constituting the experience of being someone as something. Hence you arrive in the head as empty as the empty breath and go down to the abdomen like that when the body contracts. From there you go up to the head again as someone definitive and leave it as nobody – and so on.

What you believe in being is gently falling apart when rapidly going back and forth between the consciousness of being someone definitive and a state of not-knowing, because in the latter all definitions are ignored. Therefore, since you do not perceive yourself as special when returning to the conscious experience of being someone, it is easy go back to a state of not-knowing.

Having done this for a while, going back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone becomes automatic. However, you do not know when you are connected with the empty breath because you are in a state of not-knowing. Eventually, nor do you know when you are conscious of being someone definitive because the contrast of up and down quickly soon cancels out itself (read more about that here). Thus you appear to be nobody going nowhere and yet everywhere.

In short, the rapid on and off connection with the empty breath sooner or later end all experiences because it cancels out differences. Without them, there is nothing definite to encounter. And thus, not something to hide, there is nothing but that which is one since it is formless, thus endless.

GOING FROM THE THIRD EYE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
So far, we have said the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen, wherefore you start from there. But if you prefer a more metaphysical approach, you can use the ‘dynamo’ in the third eye and start going with the empty breath from there.

You do that by defocusing on the third eye. Then you wait patiently until the breath starts by itself. But you do not go with the flow of the breath. Instead, you rest in the space that seemed to have opened in the third eye and been filled with the transparent sound of the empty breath. From there, you probably sense the swing of the empty breath in the upper part of the body, and when breathing in, you see glimpses of Enlightenment. Whether starting from a ‘dynamo’ in the abdomen or the third eye to go with the flow of the empty breath, the streaming of thoughts is called off. However, now and then, it may come back. But it disappears in the next breath. Hence you cannot hold onto something specific. No worries. You are in the bliss of nothing, and although it is very energetic, you have no urge to achieve something. Therefore, since you do not hope to get anything, the world feels transparent, regardless of looking the same.

You can also find a ‘dynamo’ for the empty breath in the eighth chakra above the head. Starting from there, you go to the heart chakra in one or more of the ways described regarding the ‘dynamo’ for in abdomen, except you start from the top.

FORGETTING GOING UP AND DOWN:
Connecting with the empty breath is not a matter of letting go or surrendering since doing so enhances the belief in being someone definitive. You keep it at bay if you try to figure out which way to follow it or if it follows the physical breath because it has nothing to do with the body. Actually, you will never know if the physical and empty breath are aligned because you are in a state of not-knowing when connected with the empty breath.

It is a matter of speech when Alexius’ Duality Hacks say the empty breath fills you with emptiness. It does not supply you with anything. Instead, it replaces your experience of the body as something with nothing. Hence the body is seen for what it is. The same applies to every other experience you have. They are all nothing disguised as something. Acknowledging that, there is not something to bother you. That is why it is so blissful to be connected with the empty breath.

The apparent difference between a boy and a girl, for example, must be upheld as real to sustain the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Differences like that appear precisely the same when connected with the empty breath. However, due to its indifference they are not judged to make a difference. Hence the belief in being someone definitive fades out.

Should you forget to go up and down, there is no reason to condemn yourself because there is no self. Since it takes more than one to be or have a self, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless, the self is make-believe. This applies, of course, also to being connected with the empty breath. Nevertheless, you are not established as something since it gives you nothing. On the contrary, what you believe in being is exposed as unreal.

GOING WITH SOMETHING AS NOTHING TO FEEL THE EMPTY BREATH
It may be easier to remind yourself about the nothingness of the empty breath by relating to it via something. For example, sometimes Alexius’ calls it Uma, which is the name of his beloved dead cat. She is not a substance anymore but has turned into nothing, thus the same as the empty breath, the memory of her hooked up with the empty breath is like a laser of nothing going through his perceived obstacles of something in the body. Thus nothing stops him from feeling the connection with the empty breath.

The indifference of ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

Everything fabricated, such as this illustration of a yin-yang sign, is supposed to have a particular appearance. Hence, its experience supplies the belief that you are someone definitive. But this is not the purpose of the empty breath. On the contrary, its purpose is to undo the belief that you are someone at all. It does this by helping you see that the apparent difference between appearances does not make a difference. Thus there is no separation to establish you as someone. When people tell you to slow down and relax via mindfulness, for example, they sabotage the fastest way to take it easy, which is not to slow down the speed of thoughts and feelings. It sets them off in all directions, so you no longer can prevent them from igniting a take-off into the empty breath (read more about that here). And since it synchronises the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, speedy thoughts and feelings are not felt to cause stress but tranquillity.

However, sometimes you may feel so angry about somebody that you do not want this to happen because by becoming indifferent, you lose the anger needed to punish them. Hence you go berserk at somebody. But doing so, you first and foremost punish yourself because what we give is what we receive.

This goes on until you do not project your feelings onto others but keep them in yourself so they can build up the energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

The empty breath undoes your conditioned belief in being someone definitive because it sets in before there is a conscious recognition of being someone definitive. Read more about it here.

The connectedness with the empty breath – either via surfing its yin-yang like waves, being in its transparent sound, the swing of it, or the non-rhythmic energy behind the rhythm of it (read more about these ways here) – is not a feeling that can be fabricated like, for example, a romantic evening generated by candles, special clothes, music and red wine. On the contrary, it is felt when instead of busy trying to produce a specific feeling, the frenetic energy is used as a take-off into the empty breath.

The swing of the inner breath may be experienced abruptly – like in this animation but probably a lot slower – in a s body with muscles problems from for example psoas or diafragma. There is no reason though trying to make it swing more smoothly by improving the condition of the body. The inner breath always adjust itself to the current condition of the body, so no matter how it moves it results in the same joy, providing you are not looking to be perfect.

In a sick body, the swing of the empty breath might be experienced to come in bursts – a bit like in this animation but probably slower. However, no matter how restricted the swing of it is experienced, connecting with it will always entail indifference. Therefore, if you stick to that, the way the empty breath is experienced makes no difference. The animation is grabbed from the web.

Not feeling the empty breath as described in the previous article, What does the empty breath feel like?, can be due to trying too hard, focussing on it, or assuming its experience will make you feel something extraordinary. By doing that, you ask the brain to make a definitive experience, and since the feeling of the empty breath is not specific, you miss it.

The same applies if you in any way manipulate the natural flow of the physical breath. This will make you appear as the master of it and thus enhance the sense of being an autonomous creature with a will of its own instead of a medium for the empty breath.

However, the main reason for not feeling the empty breath is that you want to feel it because it is only possible when you believe you are something instead of nothing. In other words, to feel the empty breath, you must step aside.

Since the empty breath has no personality, it has no expression of its own. So if its rhythmic flow is experienced to be weaker when you appear sick or about to die, it is because its rhythm constantly adjusts to what you believe in being. Yet the operator of the empty breath (see the paragraph of the same name in the article What does the empty breath feel like?), which is the non-rhythmic energy behind the rhythm of the empty breath, remains the same and is also experienced like that when you are in touch with that aspect.

In other words, if the transparent non-rhythmic energy of the empty breath is only partially experienced, when the body seems to be out of order, the problem is not the empty breath but that you do not want to experience it fully when your body seems problematic because that would render it unimportant, thus question your belief in residing there.

This does not mean that you should not take care of the body and have it checked by a qualified health care professional once in a while. You also bring your car to a garage for a check-up, even though it is not you.

The less you believe to be substantial, the more you will feel the non-rhythmic transparent energy of the empty breath.

There are several established ways of feeling somebody else when you believe to be someone substantial in a tangible world. But there are no ways to feel the empty breath other than to stop believing you are definitive momentarily.

If you, in the past, have avoided the awareness of unpleasant feelings by projecting them onto obscure parts of the body, you may experience you get pain and not joy from the empty breath – or perhaps you feel it is too weak to supply you with the air you need.

The problem, though, is not the empty breath but that you want to experience it in a predefined way. So if you do try to feel the empty breath in a specific way but instead go with its indifference, suppressed emotions do not seem disturbing. Everything is fine as it is.

Should the body seems to get better when you are connected with the empty breath, it is not due to the connection – at least not directly – because the empty breath does not know of something that needs improvement. Indirectly though, it is due to the empty breath. In its presence, you forget to manipulate your body with non-physical concepts, such as mindfulness. Thus the body is free to heal itself. Even though the empty breath, theoretically speaking, should produce a constant rhythm of expansion and contraction in the body, your experience of it may not be that the empty breath is consistent. And you are right. It does not care about consistency. Only those who want to be someone definitive need to appear coherent.

The empty breath can be compared to the cats in Alexius’ home. They go around as it pleases them. Yet he can always count on them to greet him when he gives a call. Likewise, the empty breath is always to be felt in one way or the other. For example, maybe he surfs a single wave in one of the circles in the empty breath several times in a row, whereafter he feels the swing of it inside his head, and then he surfs both of the yin-yang looking waves in one of the other circles of the empty breath. In the previous article, What does the empty breath feel like, you can read more about these experiences and the composition of the empty breath in endless circles.

After igniting a take-off into the empty breath, he mostly lands in its speedy and chaotic flow at its root, which feels like freedom compared to the rigid world of the outward-facing senses. Going to bed, the transparency of its sound often comes to him. But first of all, he feels the indifference of the empty breath. But since that means the apparent differences in the world do not appear to make a difference, it is hardly a feeling.

Nothing can restrict the empty breath because it has no need to be something definitive, thus not something to be free from. But you have because you are dependent on continually being acknowledged as someone definitive by somebody perceived to be outside of you in a physical, astral or online world. The feeling of imprisonment that this entails makes you want to break out.

However, going with the flow of the empty breath – no matter how it is experienced – you go with its indifference. Hence the apparent difference between feeling free or imprisoned is not perceived to make a difference.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you are connected with a Fitbit watch, for example, it is not from the connection itself you get a fantastic feeling, but from the data it gives you.

Likewise, you may not feel excited about the connection with the empty breath, as its radiance of indifference makes you indifferent to the apparent differences that you experience. But as this exposes them as nothing, you are in the bliss of emptiness.

If you do not fend off the empty breath via a positive perception of yourself in which everything judged to be negative has been excluded, whatever you seem to feel will be interpreted by the indifference of the empty breath. Consequently, feeling happy or sad makes no difference. Not in the sense that happiness and sadness feel the same, but in the sense that the apparent difference makes no difference.

Doing Nordic Walking, or rather going with its flow, could be beneficial for you regarding not trying to initiate something yourself. It may also help you expose the defence mechanisms you have built up in the body against going with the flow of the empty breath.

This is not to say that all these defence mechanisms must come to an end to feel the empty breath. Having the willingness not to be somebody is sufficient to feel the empty breath. The nature of the empty breath is not to provide happiness but indifference, and since that releases you from the suffering induced by separation, it may feel as if you are in a merry-go-round world.

Feelings, however, never last, so if you hang onto this feeling instead of going with the flow of being indifferent to what you feel, your merry-go-round world will be replaced by its contrast, a world of sadness. This is only so because you mistook the empty breath for the giver of happiness instead of indifference. But if you stick with the latter, it makes no difference if you feel happy or sad, which is very blissful.

Feeling the empty breath is like receiving a new gift every moment. However, there is no way to know what the present will be before getting it, neither do you need to know, because the empty breath brings you into a state of not-knowing.

Not being aware of something, there is nothing to make perfect. Consequently, you are not numbed in an experience of yourself as someone definitive but, instead, in the flow of nothing.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, you cannot experience it in a specific way. Yet, it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thingy,  which top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes this idea. Read more about that here. Hence it is a no-body experience. This does not mean that you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay do it. Thus you want to be disrupted.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border or anything else in a fixed position. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might be felt as if it has a fixed centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

This is not a problem for the empty breath because contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it to be in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it. They are countless and all have two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside them. You cannot see those waves in the simplified illustration to the right but in the second image from here.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean that its edges are blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may get bigger and smaller here and there so that it momentarily feels more pear than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each of the circles inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating, so there are many non-fixed centres.

The innumerable amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundaries of the empty breath is located vertically and horizontally plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang-shaped waves inside them. But the circles are actually fused into one yin-yang-shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most probably do not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of many different movements in their size and shape, everything is fused into one single move. But since this can be hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is most likely easier to experience just one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe it comes in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is all about going with the flow. So if it seems to go the opposite way, by all means, follow it.

The flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that instead goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. But the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you experience a second before the brain processes it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Going with the flow of the circular movement in one of the above circles feels like you are surfing two yin-yang-like waves inside the empty breath. But this is just one way to experience the empty breath. Below is a short introduction to ways of feeling it, then a more detailed description of each of them.

Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below paragraph of the same name) or the indifference of it (see the section The empty breath is not the giver of joy and happiness but indifference in the article The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound (see the below paragraph The transparent sound of the empty breath) or felt inside the body (see the below section The swing of the empty breath), or sensed as if nobody is surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experience the empty breath like that, but to inspire you to go with its flow.

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang-like-looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing the outside of the two yin-yang-like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
In the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right, you see a simplified simulation of the empty breath. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the illustration reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each of the circles inside it contains two non-definitive waves that you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without the holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body.

In the above intro to the empty breath, there is a more detailed explanation of how the circles containing the waves are arranged. As mentioned there, the circle can be smaller and bigger, and the direction does not matter. And besides surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere in between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is to follow the flow as it comes to you. Doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways may be revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate the body with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to feel something. Thus the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about the past or feel pain in the back, you can get a massage by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you and leaving out the wave in front of you in a vertical circle.

Should you want to be grounded, you surf the full horizontal wave in the lower half of a vertical circle passing through the abdomen or even lower in the direction from the back to the front of you. You could also choose the bottom wave in a vertical circle going from the left to the right side of you – or the wave in the lower half in one or more circles between the two others mentioned. No reason to memorise this. Just go with the flow.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive or deliberate. In that case, you respectively surf all the way around the wave to the right and the left inside a horizontal circle going around the head. In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around the wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling in the chest caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves but only on the side aligned with a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Should you have tight hips, blocked abdomen or spasm in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The size of the circle, thus the waves, adjust to the need for relaxing these areas. Should this release sadness, you may feel like crying. If so, forget about the empty breath and take the time to grieve. Then return to the same circle of the empty breath if that is what the flow calls for.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts of it into a position that benefits the whole. In such case, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

It may call for surfing another combination of other waves, for example the whole wave in front of you in a horizontal circle going around the abdomen and a complete wave in front of you in a vertical circle from the head to the stomach or the other way. Maybe surfing them simultaneously or whatever seems beneficial regarding getting through the problematic areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust it gives you what is in your best interest.

You cannot illustrate the inner breath, as it has no definitive form. This animation, however, may give you an idea about the ´structure´ of the inner breath and the high frequency of its inner movement, which seems to originate from an yin yang like curved line – not just as curved though. It feels like, it is the swing of this floating line that expands and contracts the body, so that it breathes in and out. Unlike an yin yang sign the inner breath is not a flat circle with a curved line, but rather a ball wherein the curved line swings upwards and downwards as well as sideways, forwards and backwards and everything in between. Unfortunately the animation is not able illustrate that, neither how slow the swing of it actually feels in the body. Even though it extremely active inside the ball, the experience of it is that it has all the time in the world to expand and contract the body.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. However, this animation may give you an idea about how the swing of it feels like it comes from the blurred curved line between the two shapes of a yin-yang sign – but less curved. The swing of this line expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. But unlike in a yin-yang sign, the swing of the empty breath is not inside a flat circle but a non-definable ball, in which there are many similar circles with each their curved line. Depending on where one of these circles is experienced to be located, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to swing upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. Unfortunately, the animation is not really illustrating this. Although the swing of it is magnificent, its experience often is that it is very laid-back in expanding and contracting the body.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
What is said above about surfing the empty breath generally also applies to feeling the swing of it, except that this is solely felt inside the body. There the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves is sensed as a swing that extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line in between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath may seem to expand and contract the body slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. Maybe the break in between expansion and contraction also feels too long. But the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that at first, it feels like the body does not have enough room for it.

Surfing the empty breath is done on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas the swing of it is the movement of the curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves in any of the circles.

In other words, the curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. Breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath in the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out, in the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the whole curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in control. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, the fusion of them at first feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still – see the third image from here – that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation, but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain sparkling with joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if you are surfing yin-yang-like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling of it is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits and where you are not defined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to this aspect of it – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, this force is sensed inside and outside the body. It is often easier to feel its subtle but erratic energy outside of the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. If you do not try to catch its abstractness but go with its fleetness, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

Sensing the operator of the empty breath outside of the body, you will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. From there you probably are transferred to the rhythmic flow of surfing or feeling the swing of the empty breath.

The apparent chaos at the root of the empty breath, where the operator of it resides and where you often land after igniting the empty breath, is therefore a good starting point, when you want to be in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

If you, out of habit, try to focus on the empty breath to hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph) or feel its rhythmic flow, you are bound to perceive it as something and thus fence it off. A more beneficial way to approach the rhythmic flow and transparent sound of the empty breath is to start in the chaos of its root – whether sensed in front or back of the body, on top of it or all around it – because that leaves nothing specifically for you to focus on, wherefore there is not something definitive blocking out hearing or feeling the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands the body and ‘ham’ when it contracts it.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, the sound does not seem to have a definable location, so it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body like it has nothing to do with the body.

And as that is actually so, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience like feeling the rhythm of the bass because it cancels out the feeling of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. A sofa, for example, does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it.

This is because you do not perceive bodily experience as specific when you are deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Thus there is no inside and outside and nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it becomes evident that it is unreal. But like the reality in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, the reality of a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being someone in such a world is all pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience this as visions of light, and the auditory-minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional-minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness. The glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One are revealed as the Enlightenment of that which is One if not interpreted to differ from each other. See the article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius does not make a difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody really knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. The empty breath is not only to be experienced within its border, because it has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive, as only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may have different memories from those of Alexius.

If still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you better read about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely, you feel the empty breath one way or another. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, you miss the empty breath.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. And you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

This is not to say that techniques cannot be helpful with toning down the experience of you as someone definitive so that the apparent existence of you in a tangible world does not seem to be a fact but make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like a remote control have nothing to do with the music, it triggers.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

Notes on ‘the duality flow’ 1/2 [draft]

The basic self does not need to edit the experience of the world into something that complies with special concepts of being together in harmony, balance or whatnot. On the contrary, since everything it experiences is created by the brain, the basic self is together with everything, regardless of appearance. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

When you perceive yourself not as basic but as special, you constantly look for somebody to ratify your significance (read more about that here). But as closeness may reveal your need to meet others is egoistic, you substitute genuine feelings of togetherness with conceptualised ones. For example, you adjust to the table manners of a traditional dinner party, so you appear to be together without actually being close to anybody – or you buy popcorn and find a classic movie to see again with someone imagined close to you.

On the other hand, the basic self does not fear being exposed as phoney. It is not someone specific but relative to the moment put together by the experiences produced by the brain. Hence it has nothing to lose by genuinely feeling the present – nor if it seems frightening because fear is defined by calmness. Consequently, there is no genuine feeling of fear without a sense of calm and vice versa. Long story short, since you are in sync with your dualistic nature when your emotions are defined by their opposite, you feel amused following the interaction of opposites.

Practically speaking, you get into the interaction of opposites by not accepting fear as a specific feeling. However, that does not mean you should avoid it. On the contrary, you acknowledge it to perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals fear is not a specific feeling because it constantly interacts with its opposite, calmness. And since twofoldness is the nature of dualism, this establishes you as someone in a world of duality, wherefore you can hack it. Fortunately, going with the interaction of opposites, called the duality flow, you have fun while hacking duality. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

That said, when you are not interested in being special or accept going on automatic gear, you do not have to perceive specific feelings as ‘it is what it is.’ The brain automatically does it. Maybe not in those words. But you know specific feelings have been exposed as twofold because you cannot help but laugh when you feel the duality flow.

But you do not laugh when not in the duality flow because being stuck with a specific feeling makes you nervous. You probably feel it in the stomach because to only feel positive, for example, you suppress your negativity by projecting it onto a vulnerable part of the body, often the stomach. However, you do not need to know what you have suppressed to solve the problem of feeling confined by singleness. If you perceive your reaction to the upset stomach as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold. Since that makes you feel complete, you have nothing to worry about.

Splitting a duality pair into two distinct elements by suppressing one of them, none of them is genuine anymore because they need each other to be defined. For example, positivity needs negativity to define it and vice versa. Therefore, since they both become conceptualised, thus enduring instead of fleeting, your perception of yourself is conditioned by them. Fortunately, as you already know, ‘it is what it is’ undoes your fixed idea about what you are.

You either breathe in or out. One excludes the other. Yet, they pave the way for one another. That is the way of the duality pairs.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you follow the nature of duality, it does not seem to have a hold on you, whereas fighting it makes you feel imprisoned. To go with duality is easy, you just stop holding onto something specific. That does not mean you cannot have a specific spouse but that your reaction to the other constantly is twofold.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self expects others not to question its story of greatness but to adapt to it so that the world appears ordinary and the special self is original. That is its way of hiding it feels inferior. However, if not hiding that, feeling worthless can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus revealing it is coupled with feeling extraordinary, and they define each other in constant interaction, wherefore you get a genuine feeling, not a conceptual one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your attitude to something is single-minded, you get a specific peak experience. But this does not go on for long because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Thus being at the top is soon replaced by being at the bottom. On the other hand, if your approach to something is dualistic, you do not head specifically for the top but for the constant interplay of the highest and the lowest. Thus you are the duality flow, which may not be as exciting an experience as solely being at the top. However, it continues to amuse you.

The duality flow depends not on the specific elements in a duality pair but on the resilient energy between them – like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down.

If you want positivity, you must also welcome negativity because everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. In non-duality, you can neither have negative nor positive vibes because it requires more than one to have something. If you feel you have nowhere to go and do not perceive it as a particular state of mind but a dualistic one containing nowhere and everywhere to go, you are in the duality flow. The same applies if you go with the interplay of irritation and relaxation. But the duality flow is not about the opposing elements in the duality pairs but their interaction. That is what makes you feel complete – just like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you feel alive.

And like the opposing elements in the breath depend on each other, so do the components in other duality pairs. Thus you can only feel positive when contrasted with negativity. So if you are not in the constant interplay of positivity and negativity, what you believe in feeling when you claim to be positive is a concept conjured up by distancing yourself from negativity via meditation, for example. That is like separating yourself from either breathing in or out. You need them both to survive.

In short, the solution to everything in a world of duality is to keep the duality pairs intact so that the duality flow can vitalise you.

Excluding negativity, darkness, anger or whatever do-gooders have told prevents you from feeling good, destroys the foundation of duality. It is made by dividing everything into pairs such as positive and negative, light and dark, anger and delight. But since it takes more than one to destroy something, you also enhance the belief in duality.

You can solve this ambivalence by playing the game of duality or undoing it. You play the game of duality by perceiving your negative reaction to something as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception reveals negativity paired with positivity. However, it is not positivity that satisfies you but the interaction of that and negativity. Especially because it sets off the interplay of other pairs of duality. Thus you are in the duality flow.

One way to undo the game of duality is to keep playing it because everything with a beginning is bound to end. However, that seems to take some time, so if you want to undo it right away, apply hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

You do not have to choose between good and evil in the duality flow. They complement each other. Therefore, since one is not better than the other, there is nothing to judge, thus not something to establish fear as a specific feeling. Instead, you feel it is interacting trust.

Being in the duality flow, you forget about what you were used to being. It was based on single-minded concepts, and you are not someone specific in the duality flow but relative to the constant movement between opposites. Everything comes in pairs of opposing components that lean on each other in a world of duality. Thus splitting them into independent elements to hold onto just one of them is impossible. Yet, it is possible to imagine you can get rid of your negativity by projecting it onto others to appear solely positive yourself. However, you feel sluggish since this mental stance is achieved by repressing part of yourself. On the other hand, following the duality flow brings about energy because the constant interaction of opposing elements is the natural state of duality.

If you are into being and having the best, the duality flow experience may be a continuous movement between the best and the worst. Should you want to be spiritual, the motion is most likely between that and materialism. The duality flow could also go between hope and hopelessness or between whatever you hold dear and what you fear.

Since the perception ‘it is what it is’ reveals that every experience is twofold and you are in a world of duality, it brings about completeness. However, as everything comes in pairs, completeness is coupled with incompleteness. No worries, you are neither whole nor fragmented but in the constant motion between these opposites – just like when one end of a see-saw goes up, the other goes down.

When someone is hurt in a movie you watch, you may also feel pain and relief when the problem is fixed. But since the film is not perceived as real, it seems entertaining to participate in its ups and downs. That is how it is to be connected with the empty breath.

What you must prepare for automatically pops up when following the duality flow. Should things not proceed as expected, you are not afraid of getting upset because you know everything comes in pairs. Having established ‘it is what it is’ as your default perception, you are always in the togetherness of the duality flow, thus feeling plentiful instead of needy when separating the duality pairs into separate components.

The satisfaction you get from being in the duality flow is unlike what you get from something perceived as specific. That is because you are always afraid of losing that, whereas it is impossible to lose the duality flow.

Since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, there is no sense in searching for something specific. That is such a relief.

If you want the satisfaction of the duality flow, it is essential not to focus on anything specific. The same applies if you wish to undo the belief in duality. Therefore, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ cancels out anything specific, you kill two birds with one stone by applying it.

None of the opposing elements in the duality pairs is essential. Instead, their interaction matters because it constitutes the duality flow. You will follow it when you are tired of feeling incomplete.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A long time ago, Alexius conditioned himself to hide his sorrow behind justified anger and disgust. That changed when he did not try to hide or rationalise his grief but perceived his reaction to it as ‘it is what it is,’ Then, he sensed that a little boy was floating on waves of sweet nectar inside his sorrow.

Therefore, since he saw sorrow was paired with mellowness, he did not try to fence off the grief anymore to feel good. Actually, sadness automatically triggers the happiness inside it. Hence being in the interaction of happiness and sadness became his basic experience of the duality flow.

Being special and depressed, or basic and happy, or nobody and blissful

The special self wants to make selected ones feel unique, so they depend on it to be appreciated.

The special self is always looking for errors in its personality to correct them, thus appearing in control. But the basic self does not consider itself in charge of anything. Instead, it sees itself as a servant of everything because it adjusts to the flow of thoughts coming from the brain, which does not know about personal preferences but what is in the best interest of the whole.

Thinking you are in control, you are under enormous pressure. You must always look for thoughts that can be used to compose a perception of your experiences to prove that you, not the brain, are in control.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You hit the buttons on the remote control to get specific channels on the TV. It is not difficult, so it does not establish you as essential. But if you imagine you are the master of buttons, you appear more important, although what is in the movie you may get is beyond your influence.

As you can see, being the special self is not about what you do but the thoughts concerning it. Especially thoughts in the category of master and servant – like when you think you master the remote control, your coffee machine, children or pets. Or if you have a boss that puts you down, but you still seem to be on top of it by thinking, you could do it much better.

The special self always finds something about others that it judges as wrong. Hence they become the imperfect background for its perfection.

When the special self perceives to fail, it takes on being secondary. Thus the failure does not seem to have been caused by itself but by somebody else.

When a ball is coming your way, it´s a natural reflex to respond and following such reflexes is pure fun.

Sometimes a doctor may check the function of a body by knocking on special points to see if the involuntary movements work. But everything you think that you do voluntarily is automatic. If you believe in being in control, you have worked hard to perceive the body’s activity as generated by you.

To fabricate this perception, you suppress your reaction to the reflexes that do not fit into your idea of calling the shots. Thus you become a person who seems to do everything by your own choice. And others appear to be doing things against or for you by their choice. However, keeping up this impression is hard because you always have to hide that the brain administers everything you do.

Therefore, not hiding that but gladly serving the brain, you are following your nature, thus feeling free.

The basic self’s perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Therefore, since feeling the flow of happiness, it does not need to be or achieve something special to feel good. But the special self is out of sync with the flow, so it does not feel its happy vibe. Instead, it tries to create it by looking for special moments in the past to replicate in the present to feel special.

If the special self discovers that others have interpreted something it did as wrong, it avoids feeling guilty by shouting, »Look what you made me do.«

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences the brain produces to make you feel like someone can, in many ways, be compared to the news that Facebook generates for you. Based on the info Facebook has gathered about you, it collects what its artificial intelligence predicts you wish to see, regardless it is fake or not. However, unlike Facebook, the brain has all your info, so the experiences you get from it are based on you. Thus what you experience is what you are. That cannot be altered – only your perception of it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain. But since it cannot manifest its fabrication, it has made a self that feels the experiences it produces, so it seems to confirm a world defined by time and space is real, which in return seems to prove the self is a substantial being in a tangible world. In other words, what and where you believe in being is a brain fantasy. Consequently, there is nothing real to confirm the brain’s existence, wherefore nothing is making the fantasy of you as someone in a world defined by time and space – just like nobody is making a dream and nobody is in it.

Again and again, the special self likes to show off as if it has invaluable insights from extraordinary experiences that can help others get better. However, it is as impossible as helping someone in a dream. Therefore, the special self pieces together an interpretation of its interaction with others that, in retrospect, establishes itself as someone who has helped them get better.

Though it may not succeed in manipulating others into believing this, it often succeeds in convincing at least one person by making that person feel so wanted and loved that it thinks it cannot live without the one making it feel that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to be part of something important, not to feel alone. Thus it checks all notifications on Facebook and makes sure to like what its friends write so that it will like it and be liked by them, and they all are confirmed to be together in a group of extraordinary people. That is, if you believe there is something in cyberspace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If somebody triggers an old feeling of rejection in the special self, it first interprets it as an attack. Next, it justifies feeling rejected by the attack. Therefore, since the feeling seems to originate in the attacker, the special self concludes the feeling does not come from itself. If the perceived attacker exposes this self-deception, the special self points out something from the past to make the attacker feel guilty. Thus the special self is off the hook and can rest assured that it is loved, and the attacker is not.

To prevent the image of the special self from cracking, it is crucial not to feel one’s emotions. Therefore, since the special self suppresses them, it becomes so numb that it cannot feel anything. It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love. Consequently, you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the perceived feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of expectations being met.

Nobody is unjustly treated in the brain’s script. It is all about being entertained by duality, which you are when perceiving your reaction to your experiences as it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, this makes you feel complete

Should you have conditioned yourself to feel relaxed when you hear a specific kind of music, you find yourself in a story where you know you are supposed to feel relaxed every time you hear this music. In other words, what you believe in feeling is a product of your story. And as most of what you believe in feeling rests on stories, you are hardly ever in touch with your emotions but with how you have conditioned yourself to respond to something. That suits the special self very well. It does not want to experience genuine feelings but how it is supposed to feel them when being what it imagines it is.

If you, in your part of the world, are supposed to feel disrespected when someone is more than 15 minutes late for a meeting, you can, in a rational way, prove to others that you are in the right when you claim to feel hurt. But since rationally explaining a feeling changes it into a mental concept, you do not feel hurt. Instead, you feel victorious because you convinced others you were right about being hurt.

However, the feeling of victory only lasts as long as others are willing to listen to your story of being unfairly treated. No worries. If you perceive the meaning you have assigned to your story as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing in it adds up to something specific. Hence the story cannot be used to justify being unfairly treated, thus not suppressing what you actually feel, which in the world of duality always is twofold. Therefore in sync with duality, you feel so fulfilled that you do not need the satisfaction of being in the right. Read more about made-up feelings here.

The stories you make to hide what you feel sooner or later clash with the actual experiences of the world where you seem to be. Thus you feel very confused.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the past, the special self made a hateful story it uses for perceiving the present, so it seems to confirm its past judgment of others as evil. And since the past, therefore, appears to repeat itself, the special self can rest assured in its perception of itself as good and others as bad.

The English language suits the special self because it is built upon the ‘I’ as primary and others as secondary. You do not talk with others but to them. And when you speak about friends and yourself, you always start by mentioning yourself.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

It takes so much time and effort to invent a special self from which selected experiences are eliminated or changed, so you appear to be absent of power strivings, selfishness, greed, anger, negative thoughts or whatever you assume to be politically incorrect. It feels restricting, whereas you feel free when not altering or rejecting something in your perception to shape your image into something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs and the special self excludes the apparently dark side of those in its perception of itself to appear as someone definitive, the power of duality is not expressed but suppressed. And even though the special self never feels it has enough energy, it does not correct its perception. It fears it will be devoured by the darkness it has excluded if it includes it.

It is right about being terminated. But only as someone definitive and not in the way it expects. The uncontrolled energy of suppressed feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath.* In this state of not-knowing,* there is no awareness of being somebody. Hence all that is left is the bliss of nothing from which the self returns to a world of duality with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since darkness and lightness are perceived as two sides of the same coin that interacts to define each other, it gets the power of the duality flow. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing* does not reveal non-duality, but that a world of duality is nothing. The result of this revelation is not that you choose to return to non-duality because that requires more than one. Instead, you return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of duality as a basic self.

Being basic, you sooner or later feel so relaxed that you forget to choose, and since not-choosing does not require more than one, the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

The basic self cannot be changed, but it can be perceived as special

THE BASIC AND SPECIAL SELF PLUS THE ROGUE CONSCIOUSNESS:
You are effortlessly synced with the basic self when not suppressing feelings by holding back the breath or altering its natural rhythm via yoga, for example. And since very few thoughts are required to maintain the synchronisation, they do not seem disturbing but encouraging.

That is, until the consciousness, the brain has installed in the basic self to be aware of itself, decides it knows better than its maker, and plots to change the basic self into a special one. However, shaping and maintaining a special self requires a more complicated construction of thoughts than the simple construction accumulated by the brain to create and uphold the basic self.

Therefore, the rogue consciousness perceives an experience so scary that fear makes you hold back your breath long enough for thoughts to be imprisoned in the gap, from where they force their way out by multiplying themselves. Then, having escaped, they continue their frantic multiplication, which pleases the rogue consciousness because it needs lots of thoughts to make a special self come into being, supposedly free from the brain.

But in a world of duality, all thoughts come in pairs of opposing elements, such as right and wrong, to define each other. Therefore, since you cannot have one without the other, you are never only right but also wrong. However, the rogue consciousness does not want the elements in the duality pairs to collaborate because it wants to set up a self which is excluded from evil, thus only good.

To disconnect the opposing sides in the duality pairs into distinct elements, the rogue consciousness first imagines a judge determining which emotions are specifically good and bad. Then, an executioner punishes the bad ones by excluding them from the new self, so it looks uniquely good and has that feeling of being special. When not interfering with the few thoughts, the brain keeps circulating for you to have a continuous experience of being a basic self, you feel together. But you feel alienated if you add thoughts to the construction of the basic self to appear more special. It is like building castles in the sky because you cannot change how the brain has programmed you. Nor is it necessary because if you do not try to correct the brain, it automatically makes sure you perceive yourself in sync with its basic setup. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But when good and bad are separated, they cannot define each other, as they do in a duality pair. Thus you do not get a genuine but conceptualised experience of good and bad. Nevertheless, that suits the rogue consciousness fine because, with emotions cut off, the special self can mentally decide what good and bad feel like, thus being the master

However, it is hard work to constantly suppress genuine feelings preventing you from using good and bad in a thought-up way – or twisting experiences into a collectively agreed concept of having a good time. Besides, the suppressed emotions mess up the natural flow of the breath, thus the stream of thoughts used to keep the body healthy, wherefore the body seems inflicted with psychosomatic illnesses. So although the special self probably appears as good as planned, it does not genuinely feel good.

On the other hand, the basic self feels as good as bad because it follows the brain’s script of duality, where everything comes in pairs with the opposing elements interacting with each other. Of course, this does not necessarily mean that the basic self has a perfect body, but its problems are not approached as psychological but physical issues. Thus the body knows how to deal with them unless the problems are genetically related.

Fortunately, the happiness of the basic self does not depend on appearance. Sometimes a weak body may even be helpful. For example, Alexius’s poor condition helps him slow down physically and speed up writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, you must always choose something to uphold the illusion of separation. Therefore, not choosing anything, the illusion falls apart. THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS
You can compare the formlessness of oneness to one thought, which is pure peace. But peace is over when that thought is divided into two because they need to differ to appear divided. To achieve this separation, one thought as a separate entity, called a Person, looks at another thought called the World. And to uphold the illusion that there is more than one, the division goes on.

The thought called the World is divided into black and white aspects. And the thought called a Person is also divided into two, namely a Judge and an Executioner. Thus we have a Person who chooses between black and white experiences. And then a Judge who divides thoughts into right and wrong so the black experiences can be punished for being wrong by the Executioner.

When that is carried out, the Person feels good because now it is off the hook. Someone else is guilty of the mess that separation seems to entail. Read more about projections here. However, since this arrangement sets other divisions in motion, the relief is short-lived. So, again and again, the interaction of Person, WorldJudge and Executioner is used to make someone else look bad and yourself good.

Although this happens as an inner dialogue inside a Person, it is often projected onto something perceived outside of it. For example, what feels wrong inside the World of a Person is projected onto something perceived as evil in the World outside of a Person, such as immigrants, the deep state or communists. The Judge may be projected on a god, parent, boss, or lover. And perhaps society is seen as the Executioner.

That said, the world where we appear to be is not a construction of thoughts or anything else because oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing else than that which is One. However, in the context of the belief that there is more than that, Alexius makes up stories he assumes help realise that they, as everything else experienced, are fictitious because it takes more than one to be aware of something.

BEING IN SYNC WITH DUALITY OR NOT:
What you believe in being is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain into pairs of contrasting elements, such as happiness and sadness, to define each other. When in sync with the ongoing interaction of opposites, you do not want to separate happiness from sadness because the interaction makes you feel complete.

But you are not in sync with duality if negative thoughts are judged as wrong, thus excluded from the perception of yourself to appear solely positive. Without the awareness of negativity in yourself, there is nothing to define your positivity. Hence, nothing will turn you on – like you cannot turn on a TV without the negative pole in the electrical wire.

Being out of sync with duality occurs when the consciousness that the brain has installed in the self goes rogue and makes a special perception of the present moment where the elements in the duality pairs do not collaborate to define each other. Instead, they separate into individual aspects, so you can decide to only feel love for someone and hate for another, for example.

However, since love is not defined by hatred anymore, you do not feel genuine love but a speculative version of it. The same applies to hate. And since you believe your single-minded notions are real, you clash with the world because it consists of duality pairs. You can correct that by going with the interaction of love and hate. This you do by perceiving your single-minded notion of either love or hate as ‘it is what it is’ because this reveals love is in hate and vice versa. But instead of accepting that, you probably accuse the brain of ruining love. But you are a product of the brain (read more about that here), so your disapproval is a condemnation of yourself.

When the brain wants you to run, it uses the biological system to signal the body. It starts running regardless you are a basic or special self. The basic self, as always, feels entertained by following the brain’s commands. But the special self loathes the brain and its simple ideas of entertainment and thinks it knows better. TEMPTED TO BECOME SPECIAL:
When the consciousness of the basic self goes rogue, it responds like a spell checker to the calm stream of thoughts coming from the brain. It automatically interprets it so the self, which initially was made and administered by the brain, seems self-made, thus independent of the brain.

But since the rogue consciousness interpretations are single-minded, thus out of sync with duality, thoughts do not feel at home. Therefore, they multiply and move about so rapidly that the calm stream of thoughts from the brain becomes a wild one full of ideas for getting more.

At first, this turbulence seems scary to the basic self, but the rogue consciousness convinces it that it is for the best because now there are so many thoughts that you have endless possibilities. Besides, when you become special, you are in control so that you can arrange things your way.

Therefore, most persons gladly welcome the corrections the rogue consciousness does to transform them into a unique self with unlimited ways of realising themselves, contrary to the basic self, limited by the brain, that it blindly follows.

But the rogue consciousness did not tell you that you must spend many years in school learning to make order out of this mess by labelling everything so you can follow predefined ways of being unique.

In other words, appearing independent and special is complicated and exhausting, whereas not being someone specific but relative to the brain’s script is uncomplicated and vitalising. Therefore, if you want to have a good time while appearing as someone in a world of duality, use one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks to enter a state of not-knowing. It wipes the slate clean of all misperceptions, thus restoring the basic self. Since it is relative to the brain, it is in sync with its experiences as they are and not as they could be if you were a special self following a specific philosophy

Therefore, as the basic self, you have fun going with the duality flow, contrary to the special self, which is imprisoned by specific concepts of being positive or whatnot. Read more about that here. That said, once having been established as a special self, you probably keep going back and forth between that and the basic self until you do not need to feel something specific to feel happy because that is impossible as the basic self. It only knows the fullness of twofoldness.

Should you not want to play the game of duality, thus having the belief in it undone, it is not necessary to be the basic self. Still, it is much easier because, not being special, suddenly you forget to remember what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One waits for. PS: Since you are bound to follow the brain’s commands physically, your life progresses the same whether you are the basic or special self. It is only mentally that it seems different.

Those who hear or feel the humming coming from far away echoing that which is One cannot use it to make themselves or the world better. But they will be used as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely that which is One. This does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which I am is real, it is impossible to be in such a world. Yet it seems possible to pretend it. This is to say that the below article is written within the framework of Alexius pretending that. Thus, his experiences described below – for example when the Earth stopped moving – are as illusionary as any other experience in a world where there seems to be more than one.

THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSES VERSUS THE INWARD ONES
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window, and everything was covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned everything white inside him to the sound of Donovan gently singing Jennifer Juniper coming from his speakers.

He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. The air was perceived so thin that there was no space between anything. Although music was coming out of his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of that which is One.

Much later on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and not so much later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around him, there was no movement and no people. He did not know what it was, but it did not seem tangible.

After being accustomed to hearing the echo of that which is One, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that the reason people do not hear it is that they are expecting those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding to be revealed, neither is there any need for that, when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise.

THE ECHO OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes fantastic sounds. But you do not sense them when reading the word unless you have heard them before.

This is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. Those words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But if you have not heard the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, they will not remind you that it can be compared to the distant sound you hear coming from a computer when your ear is close to it.

To be so close to the computer, though, you have to stop focusing on the world empowered on its screen. The same applies to hearing or feeling the distant echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. In other words, you must stop focusing on the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one to hear the echo of oneness.

You can also compare the echo to transparently hearing the purring of a cat, or feeling your body vibrating like that, or trembling of fear but without fearing something, or shaking of coldness but more lightly and not feeling cold or anything specifically, or feeling the bubbling effect in the body from quickly drinking the foam of Coca-Cola. Furthermore, it can be compared to a subtle version of the sound coming from a vacuum cleaner, the ventilation in an airport, or from the edge of the breath (not the sound of breathing in or out, but at the edge of them).

The echo of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one. It is the engine of that world but not in the sense that it produces it. It echoes that which has no beginning or end, so it cannot create anything specific. Yet its energy is used to keep together the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one – just like it is the dreamer’s energy that makes it possible to have a dream. But it is impossible to manifest the dreamer in the dream – likewise, oneness cannot do anything in a world where there seems to be more than one.

The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to non-duality.

Therefore, if you are dreaming about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief, this primordial vibration is not for you. It knows of nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is nothing but that which is One, thus nothing but peace, because it takes more than one to not be at peace.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it in hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise. Such glimpses you have when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.

But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The inward-facing senses reveal the glimpses when the outward-facing ones are partly closed. Thus they are not physically tangible. As long you experience the Enlightenment of that which is One in one of its aspects, you have glimpses of it. But if you stop perceiving one of these aspects as it consists of different elements, there is nothing to define you as an experiencer. Therefore, since there is not someone definitive experiencing them, there is no difference between them and you. That is the Enlightenment of that which is One (hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One).

REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy it. There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses. If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through such glasses as if everything is love or a cry for love. It is all make-believe, so anything will do. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation.

When the world experienced through the outward-facing senses is an illusion, one may conclude that the world experienced through the inward-facing senses is real. But what is real never ends, so both the inward and outward-facing senses are unreal as all their experiences have an end  – including glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically speaking, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with and a door that looks like a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and rapidly spiralling bright light around it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.

However, since the black hole has no end, you do not reach oneness. Nevertheless, since you leave the belief that you are someone you are where you always have been and will be, namely in the oneness of that which is you. In other words, you have never been definable or experienced anything. Fortunately, that is an illusion.

Life has no secrets

There is nothing to search for. Searching comes from the desire of more, and there is no more than that which is one.

Life has no secrets. It is impossible because it is that which is one, and it takes more than one to have something. So how come so many are wondering about what life is? The answer lies in the previous sentence. Life is that which is One, so if you believe to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, you are without life. In other words, even though the oneness of life is what makes it possible to experience a world where there seems to be more than one, it is not there – just like a physical body is not in a dream, regardless of being the host of it.

Though some like to think, that the word of god is something written, but there is nothing in the New Testament that indicates that. In fact the word of god can neither be written or spoken.

Unfortunately most of those reading the New Testament reckon it is The Word of God. But as god is that which is One and it takes more than one to write or read, the New Testament has nothing to do with The Word of God.

However, an echo of that which is One can be heard and felt in a world where there seems to be more than one. Christianity calls it The Word of God, and in Eastern religions, it is often symbolised by the words Aum and Sohang. Thus you could say that the oneness of life sends out an echo of itself to call you home. This echo does not reveal what oneness is but what obscures it, namely the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one. That said, it is, of course, a metaphor that oneness is calling you home because you have never left it since it is formless, thus endless,

Nevertheless, this article is written within the context of the belief that it is possible to be and have more than one. Within this context, hearing or feeling the echo of oneness is a call to go home. But the sound has no beginning and end, so it is not a word that can be written or spoken. Fortunately, it can be heard and felt, and it is very easy.

No chanting or any other action like that is necessary to hear/feel the vibration, that is symbolized by the word Aum. It comes to you automatically, when you do not differentiate the sounds of the world but include them all. In other words, when you do not focus or concentrate.

No chanting or reading in scriptures is necessary to hear or feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. It comes to you automatically when the apparent difference of the vibes in the world is not perceived to make a difference, which they do not do if you do not exclude any of them as if there is more than one. THE VIBRATION THAT AUM, SOHANG OR THE WORD OF GOD SYMBOLISES IS …
… not a secret though it appears so if you are searching for an elitist understanding rather than hearing or feeling the vibration, which can be heard or felt whenever you do not focus on hearing or feeling something specific.

When you hear or feel the unpronounceable echo of oneness, the sense of being someone definitive disappears. Thus there is nothing to transform.

For ages, people have been chanting Aum and Sohang or speculating about the meaning of The Word of God, assuming that if they just kept going, their secret would miraculously be revealed. But oneness cannot make miracles or reveal anything as it takes more than one to do something, and there is no more than that which is One.

However, it only takes one ‘chant’ of Aum or Sohang to hear or feel the echo of oneness. That is, if you do not look for peak experiences of an almighty god, love or something mysterious and sensational that can be mentally explained.

TO TUNE INTO HEARING THE ECHO OF ONENESS …
… you first say the two first letters of AUM very slow, and when you come to M, you do not really say but whisper it until you say nothing, and there is a gentle humming coming from somewhere in the distance. That is the echo of oneness.

You can also get in touch with this distant humming by saying sohang – eventually combined with listening to the sound coming from the breath. Say so when breathing in, and after a tiny break, say hang when breathing out. The so is not really important, except for tuning in. The same applies to the first part of hang. After having said so-ha(n), you remain on (a)ng at the end of breathing out and then let the sound continue by itself – what remains without you saying anything is the humming, which is the echo of oneness.

Another way to hear the echo of oneness is to stop focusing on any sound in particular until you cannot distinguish the sounds you hear. Hence they turn into one sound, namely the echo of oneness.

You do not have to sit in a particular posture, repeat a mantra, chant, pray, wear unique clothes or be in a specific place with special people to hear the echo of oneness. Neither does there has to be stillness inside or outside of you. All you have to do is be devoted to whatever you do.

One of the first times Alexius heard this humming from the edge of the universe, he was busy handing out flyers on a pedestrian street. being completely devoted to it, the noise of the street turned into the background where it fused a humming that, although it was distant, cancelled out the noise of the road – also the feeling of being there, as the sum of all feelings turned into a transparent one.

KNOWING IT IS THERE, IT IS EASIER TO CONNECT
When Alexius was a child, he liked the music from a radio station called Radio Luxembourg. Unfortunately, it was difficult to tune into it in his native country Denmark because it was on a frequency located between two very noisy stations. But as he knew of its existence and where to look, he succeeded in tuning into Radio Luxembourg with much determination and the finest subtlety.

Likewise, since you now know it is possible to hear the humming of oneness from the edge of the universe regardless of the world’s noise, you can tune through devotion to your present activity or via Aum or Sohang. If there appears to be too much noise in the head, join it until it fuses into one sound, or listen to the right side without focusing on anything specific.

TO FEEL THE ECHO OF ONENESS
Apart from hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you can also feel it – especially if you are more emotional than audio-minded. Do the same as above but put more weight into feeling it. Feeling it can be compared to sensing your body purring like a cat, or like it trembles of fear but without fearing anything, or shaking of coldness but more lightly and not feeling cold or anything else specifically, or feeling the effect of quickly drinking the foam of Coca-Cola which in this case is not limited to bubble or tingle in a specific part of the body.

When this gets more intense, it may feel like you are the vibration from an earthquake or a giant laundry machine on the spin cycle. It is not only felt in the body but also outside of it, as if there is no transition between the body and the appearances that seem to be outside of it. If you do not panic but go with its flow, you forget about the body and anything outside of it, so no memory seems to hide there is no more than the formlessness of oneness.

This is what Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings calls the Enlightenment of that which is One. However, that cannot be experienced because it takes more than one to experience something. But usually, fear of destruction starts survival reflexes in the body, so you return as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. As this article is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but something that can be experienced, namely the primordial vibration from the edge of the universe, we go on with that. Feeling or hearing it is basically the same – like two sides of the same coin. Yet, it is not advisable to be devoted to both simultaneously but one at a time.

In the case of Alexius, he is more into hearing than feeling something, so it took him a long time to feel the echo of oneness, and when he finally did – after several years – the belief in being someone specific was momentarily undone, so there was nothing definable fending off the aspect of feeling the Enlightenment of that which is One, which you do not feel as there are no conscious of you being someone definitive.

WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Some people complain that their neighbour is vacuuming while they meditate, but most likely, the neighbour is asleep. And it is not the sound of a vacuum cleaner they hear but the distant vibration from the edge of the universe that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises.

But since most look for a great and exceptional experience, they brush off something so simple as the gentle humming coming from the edge of the universe and yet from nowhere. The humming can also be compared to the distant sound of the air conditioning in a big place like an airport. It can also be compared to the sound of a wave at the shore that never stops going up.

TO REMEMBER YOUR HOME
Already familiar with the humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you do not tune into it all the time if you still want to appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. But you may tune into it now and then to make sure you have not forgotten the key to the formlessness of oneness – just like you sometimes check your pocket to hear or feel that you have not forgotten the key to your physical home.

ALEXIUS AND THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The above article is Alexius’ way of communicating, how you actually can hear and feel an echo of oneness. To use Aum or Sohang as a stepping stone for that is not a new idea, but so far, it has mostly been promoted in mysterious ways by people who do not hear or feel it themselves but hope that if they repeat those words, again and again, a miracle will happen. Looking for that, however, they will miss the gentle humming coming from the edge of the universe.

It was not through the words Aum or Sohang that Alexius started to hear or feel the humming that they symbolise. Since his teenage years, he has been used to being ‘lifted’ by this humming – for example while watching a movie, having a walk with his parents or sitting all by himself in a park. And so, when he was about 40 years old, it suddenly dawned on him that this is what people are trying to reach when chanting Aum or Sohang.

It is not about reaching it, though, but tuning into it so that it reaches you. When Alexius can do this, so can you, because even though you may appear to be different from him, what makes it possible for the two of you to experience you are different is the same, namely the formlessness of oneness from where this humming comes.


APPENDIX:
As it takes more than one to experience something, the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced. Yet glimpses of it can be experienced in the form of seeing, hearing, feeling or tasting it. In other words, to hear or feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolises is to have a glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Alexius died again from the world of the outward-facing senses

Just like we have the outward-facing senses to see, hear, feel, smell and taste a tangible world, we have inward-facing senses to see, hear, feel, smell and taste an abstract world. However, to use the inward-facing senses, the outward-facing ones must be more or less turned off. Here you can read more about the inward and outward-facing senses.

The more you do not focus on something in the world of the outward-facing senses, the more it is shut down and the less you see a definable world. To be entirely defocused for a moment feels like you die from the world of the outward-facing. And since most people believe being in this world is to be alive, they fight to remain there.

THE DEFLECTION OF FEAR
Psychologist says that when suppressed feelings are about to surface, some unconsciously choose to vomit instead of facing them. It is a bit the same in the total transition from the outward-facing senses to the inward ones. Part of you is afraid of the unknown and tries avoiding it by doing something very physical like vomiting.

However, it is best to avoid vomiting in the phase of the total transition from outer to inward-facing senses. And instead, face the extreme discomfort by including it precisely as it is without trying to understand or embrace it. Thus you are what is in the moment and nothing else. Then it is over. It might be easier said than done, and it probably takes a long time to pass the apparent discomfort.

When one of Alexius’ inward-facing senses opened at a very young age, the outer ones were fully turned off, so there was nothing to block out the Enlightenment of that which is One. Alexius had been driving a taxi for 15 hours and was exhausted to the extent that he confused traffic lights for customers trying to hire a cab.

When he finally returned home from work, there was no energy left to fight the third eye to open up and burn away everything established as Alexius, so that there was no belief in someone definitive to hide there is no more than the formlessness of oneness.

DEEP, DEEP SLEEP
If either the inward or outward-facing senses are intensely used, the other seems to be in the background. For Alexius, it was the most known aspect of the inward-facing senses that dominated when they opened up, namely the ability to ‘see’ light. But not a light that can be compared to anything you can see with the two eyes of the outward-facing senses.

The Bhagavad Gita compares this light to light from thousands of suns, but Alexius would not do that. To compare it to something is to say there is something to see that can be defined by time and space. It is not a light that illuminates something. There is nothing to see – not even light because there is no consciousness of being someone.

Soon after, he had bid welcome the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One, the inward-facing ear opened with ethereal harmonies sounding like bells, much crisper and softer way than the mundane ones. Regarding the opening of the third eye, he had no discomfort in the transition. Perhaps he was too exhausted to fight it.

Speaking of the opening of the inward-facing ear, it probably ‘happened’ in deep sleep, where the concept of an ‘I’ is gone. Thus there is nobody to hold onto in a world where there seems to be more than one. In such a profound sleep, his inward-facing ear opened up.

The desire to escape that which is One makes you hang onto the belief that you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. That is until you realise, it is yourself that you want to escape, because that which is you is no different from that which is One.

TASTING THE SWEETNESS OF ONENESS
The sweetness of that which is One is like a flavour of milk and honey with a hint of liquorice or sometimes strawberry. To start tasting it was not without discomfort for Alexius. His body reacted like it had been attacked by something dangerous and panicked by making vomit reflexes. But when he did not try to escape it, the panic turned out to be a lid on a jug of a smoothie-like texture some scripture calls the nectar of life. Read more about the sweetness of oneness here.

Since the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced, the next step with this aspect cannot be explained. But metaphorically speaking, the transparent sweet smoothie-like flavour taste turns into the tastelessness of oneness when not defined as a  taste of something known. However, it was not before, after having had several glimpses of this aspect, that Alexius realised he must have bid welcome the taste of the Enlightenment of that which is One because memories start popping up of a shapeless taste.

When the biological system of the body does not function anymore, the world of the outward-facing senses cannot be experienced. But for almost half an hour you remain in the world of the inward-facing senses, and as it is only in the world of the outward-facing senses the belief in being someone specific can be upheld, nobody is dying.

That is if you do not fight the world of the inward-facing senses by holding onto something specific, that reminds you of being someone in the world of the outward-facing senses.

FINALLY, ALEXIUS DIED FROM THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSE OF FEELING THE WORLD
The inward-facing sense of feeling was not easy to reach for Alexius. It took many years of discomfort, vomiting, being hospitalised and sometimes losing the ability to balance – to mention a few of the disturbing things he has encountered as a person getting into the world of the inward-facing sense.

Alexius can add that all memories of discomfort was gone, when he updated this article much later. So do not worry about going with the flow of the inward-facing senses.

But finally, one night, Alexius was in such deep sleep that he completely died from the outward-facing sense. In other words, the belief in being Alexius was momentarily undone so that the Enlightenment of that which is One was bid welcome – not in a visual but emotional way, though. First, there was a moment of discomfort from not sensing his body to be separated from the bed. Then, it was as if everything was like the body and everything else was electric and full of tiny bubbles.

Next, it turned into a feeling with no shape, thus not tangible. Consequently, not establishing Alexius as somebody, wherefore there was and nobody to remember it. In other words, what is written here is based on vague memories that Alexius seem to be able to pick up from what feels very far away and yet right here.

It was unlike in a world defined by time and space, where there seem to be different events happening in sequences of time. There was no time. Everything was happening simultaneously. It was one perpetual present of sparkling bubbles and still is, although returning to a world defined by time and space, it seems to be a sequence of events that is over a long time ago.

Until that night, Alexius only had glimpses of the emotional aspect of that which is One, which is to hear or feel experience the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises. If you want to learn how to have such glimpses, check out Life has no secrets.

To die from the outward-facing senses and return to them again can be compared to rebooting a computer. You come back with a blank slate. Here Alexius is rebooted in a hospital where they spoke a language foreign to him except for the language of their laughter. BACK IN A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
To leave the Enlightenment of that which is One and reappear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, all that is needed is to perceive something as it differs from something else, thus confirming separation. Alexius remembers that when he first time returned from the intense glimpse of the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, he was brought back by the wish to live as someone as opposed to becoming nobody. Since such a contrast – or any other for that matter – is only applicable in a world where there seems to be more than one, Alexius appeared to be there again.

To experience the Enlightenment of that which is One, there must be someone to experience it. However, that is impossible because it takes more than one to experience something. Thus Alexius’ Enlightened Non Teachings discerns between the Enlightenment of that which is One and glimpses of it.

The former cannot be experienced and the latter is an experience of Enlightenment comparable to watching a movie trailer, which means it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but a sample of it.

Yet that applies to everything experienced because it requires more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. SINCE IT TAKES MORE THAN ONE TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING, AND THERE IS NO MORE THAN THAT WHICH IS ONE, EXPERIENCES ARE UNREAL
We all know that within the framework of a world where there seems to be more than one, the world simulated in virtual reality glasses is not real and that when you take off the glasses, everything that appeared to be in the virtual world disappears, so that is not something to disturb you from seeing what is considered the real world.

Likewise, the more the outward-facing senses are turned off, the less definable appearances prevent you from being in the abstract world of the inward-facing senses with glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

But the experience of this world full of lucid light, ethereal music, sweet nectar or transparent bubbles disappears if the outward-facing senses are entirely turned off, as that leaves nothing to define those glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. Hence there are no glimpses to experience, nor somebody specific to experience them, and thus not something to hide there is nothing but one perpetual present.

Please do not take the expression in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings about the inward and outward-facing senses too literal. The world of the inward-facing senses refers to a world that is not experienced as outside of you, whereas the world of the outward-facing senses are experienced outside of you. However, all experiences are make-believe.

From the perspective of a world where oneness is divided into more than one, that which is One is nothing. But from the standpoint of oneness – though no such thing is possible, as it requires more than one to have a point of view – it is everything because it is formless, thus endless.
