Somebody cannot bid welcome ‘the Enlightenment of that which is One,’ but nobody can

Fear and other emotions may seem to be a hindrance for the Enlightenment of that which is One. It is not the emotions, though, that fend it off but that you believe they are yours. That which is you does not feel anything because it takes more than one to do so, and it is no different from that which is One. For the same reason, that which is you does not think, nor is it conscious of anything.

This does not mean you should try to stop this. First of all, that which is you cannot control anything as that calls for more than one. Secondly, while you appear to be someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is impossible to stop being aware of feelings and thoughts since that is what makes you appear to be there.

It is, of course, possible to deny the awareness of thoughts and feelings by meditating, for example. But whether you establish yourself to be someone who has something or nothing, you are definable and thus in denial of that which is you, as oneness is formless.

Pretending to be someone, on the other hand, what you have is not yours because what you pretend to be you are not. Thus nobody has thoughts and feelings or is conscious of anything. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation. Consequently, nobody bids welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

This is not the only way to become a nobody. As everything in a world of duality comes in pairs, there is no fear without trust, so if you are so full of fear that there is nothing else, it cannot be defined by trust. Therefore, since you are full of nothing, you are not somebody but nobody. See hack #3.1 Inclusiveness is freedom.

You could also stick to being the basic self by perceiving any kind of experience, whether it appears mundane or spiritual, as ‘it is what it is.’ See hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy. Since that means emotions do not stick to you, they do not fend off the Enlightenment of that which is One. Nor will they prevent you from having a marvellous time in a world where there seems to be more than one until the Enlightenment of that which is One erases everything that requires more than one.

You do not need to refrain from sex or anything else to make these or any other duality hack work. However, if you are willing to have the belief that you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, Alexius’ Duality Hacks apply themselves the more you read Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

The willingness comes by itself when you admit you are not willing to have this belief undone because acknowledging that confirms what and where you appear to be is make-believe.

APPENDIX:
Since the application of the above duality hacks requires more than one, they are as illusionary as anything else in a world in a world of duality, including the writer and reader of this. However, the purpose of them is not to make us seem like we are somebody but that we, just like anything else that calls for more than one, are nothing because non-duality is formless, thus endless, so there is no more than that which is One.

Going back to the first moment of duality

You and the world is fabricated at the edge of a black hole, which you have imagined to be a way out of that which is one – and to make it appear as if you are right, you divide all the appearances of this fabrication by separating them into good and bad, so that it seems you are in a world, where there is more than that which is one.What you appear to be, was dreamed up at the edge of a black hole through which you believed to have escaped that which is One. This rebelliousness you continue in a world of duality, where you do not accept that everything comes in pairs of opposites. You fight this basic rule of duality by separating the constant interaction of opposing components into disconnected elements that do not support but fight each other, for example love an hate.

This explanation is, of course, as fictious as anything else in a world of duality, including Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. But since they do not claim to be real, reading them may expose everything experienced is unreal.

The inner senses are not limited by the ideas of time and space, so it is not a problem for them to pick the echo of that which is one coming from the beginning of the world, which also is the end of it.

THE HUMMING FROM THE EDGE OF THE UNIVERSE
Depending on your preference in the world of duality, the echo of non-duality is either experienced as a sound, feeling, light or taste coming from the edge of the universe – one at a time, though, as they are aspects of oneness. However, this article is mainly about hearing or feeling the echo of non-duality, often symbolised by Aum and Sohang.

As non-duality is formless, thus endless, it is everything. Thus the experience of more than one is an illusion.

When the outward-facing senses are partially closed, the inward-facing ones, which are not limited by time and space, can tune into the echo of non-duality, so you can hear or feel it. What you hear or feel, though, is not non-duality but a glimpse of it because non-duality cannot be experienced.

Non-duality is the absence of attention, awareness, consciousness, love or anything else that requires more than one.

If the outward-facing senses are entirely closed, a world defined by time and space cannot be experienced. Therefore, since there is nothing to prevent the abstract world of the inward-facing senses from completely taking over, there is not something that appears to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. But this is not the subject of this article. It is written within the context of time and space.

Feeling or hearing the humming from the edge of the universe, you do not perceive differences to make a difference. Therefore, you return to the origin of duality, where nothing seemed wrong. Hence every moment was the perfect moment.

IN THE BEGINNING, EVERYTHING SEEMED PERFECT
You escaped non-duality through a black hole you imagined seeing at the edge of non-duality. Everything seemed perfect until you looked for differences and discovered the fantasies about more than one kept coming out of the black hole. But you thought you could handle this disruption by pairing opposing elements into duality pairs.

However, there were not enough elements to complete your project. This made you so angry that your rage ignited an explosion in the black hole that made a world of your duality pairs in which you now spend all your time looking for the missing pieces.

Truth is that which is One. Consequently there is no truth in a world, where there seems to be more than one.

PERFECTION IS A FAIRYTALE
If you are a factual-minded person, you may ask, where are the facts behind the above explanation? But there are no facts because a world of duality is fake. Reality is non-duality since it is formless, thus endless. Therefore, the above is as made up as anything else in a world of duality. Nevertheless, Alexius’ little fable may remind you that non-duality is all there is.

If so, use the fable to return to the big bang coming out of a black hole, so you can be filled with glimpses of Enlightenment by keeping your inward-facing senses partially open. If wholly opened, the nothingness of you is sucked through a black hole into that which is One.

But please do not use the fable to prove that you are on the right track and that others are wrong. Also, do not try to adjust to the terminology of Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. They are not a belief system where you find the meaning of life. On the contrary, they undo the belief in being someone alive in a world of duality.

Those who hear or feel the humming from far away echoing oneness cannot use it to improve themselves or the world. But they will be used by it as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely that which is One. That does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. Nor does it mean they will cease to exist because they have never existed since there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which is One is real, it is impossible to be in a world where there is more than one. And yet, we appear to be in such a world. However, one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, like Alexius, does not believe but pretends to be there, like when playing a computer game. That is why his below description of the world standing still, for example, does not reflect reality but how Alexius experiences pretending to be where he is not. The same applies to listening to the echo of oneness or having other glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE WORLD STOOD STILL
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window, and everything was covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned everything white inside him while Donovan’s Jennifer Juniper was playing in the background.

He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. And the air, he perceived as so thin that there was no space between anything. Although music was coming out of his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of oneness.

Much later, on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and not so much later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around, it was like there was no movement and no people. He did not know what was going on, nor did he try to figure it out because when you hear the echo of oneness, you do not need more.

After being accustomed to hearing the echo of that which is One, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that people do not hear it because they expect those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding get, and neither is there any need for it when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise.

THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes amazing sounds. But you do not sense them when reading the word unless you have heard them before.

That is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. These words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But if you have not heard the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, they will not remind you of the distant sound you hear from a computer when your ear is close to it.

To be so close to the computer, you have to stop focusing on the world empowered on its screen. The same applies to hearing or feeling the distant echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. In other words, you must stop focusing on the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one to hear or feel the echo of oneness. You can read what it feels and sounds like here.

The echo of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one. It is the engine of that world but not in the sense that it produces it. That is not possible because it echoes that without a beginning or end. Hence it cannot create anything specific. But its energy is used to keep together the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one, although it is not there itself – just like the dreamer’s energy makes it possible to have a dream but not to manifest the dreamer in the dream.

The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to oneness.

Therefore, this primordial vibration is not for you if you dream about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief. It knows nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is nothing but that which cannot be experienced, namely, the formlessness of oneness.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it by hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise. Such glimpses you have when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.

But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The inward-facing senses reveal glimpses of Enlightenment when the outward-facing ones are partly closed. Thus they are not physically tangible. As long you experience the Enlightenment of that which is One in one of its aspects, you have glimpses of it. But if you stop perceiving one of these aspects as made of different elements, there is nothing to define you as an experiencer. Hence, since nobody experiences them, there is nothing but the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One).

REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy this definable world? There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses. If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through glasses of love. It is all make-believe, so you may as well pretend to be in wonderland. Especially if you do it with the duality flow because then your wonderland is contrasted by sorrow, so you feel wonderful when you are sad. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

When the world experienced through the outward-facing senses is an illusion, one may conclude that the world experienced through the inward-facing senses is real. But what is real never ends, so both the inward and outward-facing senses are unreal because all their experiences have an end  – including glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with and a door that looks like a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and rapidly spiralling bright light around it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.

However, you do not reach oneness since the black hole has no end. Nonetheless, since you have the belief in being someone undone, you are what you always have been and will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. In other words, you have never been someone experiencing something.

The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them

The echo of that which is one, which often is symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God and which comes from the edge of the universe can be heard or felt right now via the inner senses, because they are not limited by time and space.

The echo of that which is One is often symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. It comes from the edge of the universe, but since the inward-facing senses are not limited by time and space, for them, it takes no time to go there to hear or feel the echo of oneness coming out of a black hole. See, Going back to the first moment of duality.

None of the facets of the Enlightenment of that which is One can be experienced because it requires more than one to be conscious of something. Thus when you think you have felt, seen, heard, or tasted it, it was not the Enlightenment of that which is One but glimpses of it. They are, like a movie trailer, only samples, thus not the Enlightenment of that which is One. This article is about how to experience those samples that can be felt, seen, heard, or tasted with the inward-facing senses while still in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Please be aware that the ways described below to have glimpses of Enlightenment will not work if you look forward to being or having more, as their function is to undo the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is one. However, this does not mean you must restrain yourself from getting more but not care about it.

THE ECHO OF ONENESS
As already implied, oneness cannot be revealed because it calls for more than one. However, when you keep feeling or hearing it echoing from the edge of the universe, the belief in a world defined by time and space is, eventually, undone. Hereafter, the belief does not appear to hide there never was or will be more than that which is one.

In other words, the more you ignore the world defined by time and space, produced by the outward-facing senses, the more a world not limited by time and space is experienced by the inward-facing senses. Without time and space, it takes no time to go to the edge of the universe (read more about that here), where the echo of oneness has been used to create a fantasy world of time and space which seems genuine until you feel or hear this primordial vibration, often symbolised by Aum, Sohang or The Word of God.

»With every exhalation the soul recites ‘Hang’ and with every inhalation it recites ‘So’. Thus every soul counts the mantra of Sohang (So plus Hang) twenty-one thousand and six-hundred times every day and night.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 84.

In Eastern religions the echo of oneness is symbolised by the word ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ and in the New Testament by ‘The Word of God’: »In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.

One who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One perceives ‘The Word’ in the above quote as a metaphor for the unpronounceable vibration you feel or hear when not totally focused on the world of the outward-facing senses. However, the unenlightened speculates about what exact words this qoute hints at, even though there is not a single verse in the Bible referring to ‘The Word of God’, as something that is written or can be spoken.

The vibration that AUM or Sohang symbolizes comes from the edge of the universe, which is only far away if you let yourself be deceived by a world defined by linear time as experienced through the outer senses.

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One come from a black hole at the edge of the universe. However, this is not far away when you ignore the outward-facing senses and their world defined by time and space but instead go with the inward-facing ones because they are not ruled by time and space. Thus you can feel. see, hear, or taste the glimpses regardless of where you appear in the world of the outward-facing senses.

A way to ignore the outward-facing senses so you can feel or hear the echo of oneness with the inward-facing senses is not to be exclusive but inclusive. When you include all that you feel or hear – or are willing to – the sum of it is felt or heard by the inward-facing senses. It feels or sounds like the humming of nothing and everything. THE THIRD EYE
Seeing glimpses of oneness is done via the inward-facing sense, often called the third eye, a single ‘eye’ in the middle of the two eyes above the two eyebrows.

»The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.« Matt 6:22, King James Bible. This makes much sense to one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One but obviously not to the unenlightened, because in the new international version of the New Testament this sentence has been changed to: »The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.«

The enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome by completely ignoring the outward-facing senses. First time this happened for Alexius was when he returned home totally exhausted after a long nights work of taxi driving and simply was too tired to focus.

In other words, to be offbeat, exhausted, confused or maybe even drunk is a way to forget the world ofthe outward-facing senses, so that there is no world to see, thus nothing to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. In fact anything that is not part of a scheme to fabricate images defined by time and space will do.

If that includes drugs Alexius does not know, because he has not experienced them. Yet he can say from looking at others taking drugs, that it seems to be more about expanding the consciousness of a world where there seems to be more than one than undoing it.

»Direct your eyes toward the middle of the eyebrows and meditate upon your own self. It is Shambhavi Mudra, the most secret practice of all the Tantra scriptures.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 59.

Practically speaking you can turn off the visual outward-facing sense and open the third eye by closing the eyes and lightly, without any concentration, hold a finger on the third eye. You can do it anywhere in any position. However, it is best to do in a dark room, so you do not think the revelation of light comes from the world of the outward-facing senses.

If something like this is dechiffered into different colors and forms, you will have glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one, but if you do not judge any colors or forms to be different from each other the apparent differences will explode into one bright light.

If having a vision like this and it is deciphered into an experience of different colours and shapes around a centre, it is a glimpse of ‘the Enlightenment of that which is One.’ But if you on the other hand do not judge the apparent different colours and forms to make a difference or to come from somewhere specific, one bright and colourless light, that seems to explode from out of nowhere wipes out all thoughts collected to shape you as somebody so that nobody gracefully falls into the formlessness of oneness.

Since the eyes always looks for the greatest contrast of light, your closed eyes automatically search the darkness until they move inwards and upwards towards the third eye from where they settle at a lightshow radiating at such speed that its colours hardly is perceived to differ.

»Touching eyeballs as a feather, lightness between them opens into the heart and there permeates the cosmos.« Sochanda Tantra, stanza 13.

If your eyes do not automatically move inwards and upwards into the area of the inward-facing senses above the eyebrows, you may help them by gently pressing the thumb and middle finger on the outer corner of the eyeballs and the middle finger on the third eye.

However, this is not really commendable, since even the slightest effort requires focus, and it is not focus but defocus that bids welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of it. Furthermore this may give you the impression that certain physical postures can open the third eye.

None of the inward-facing senses are reached via a specific posture or way of thinking. But deactivating the outward-facing senses can be achieved in this way, so if you find a specific technique that seems helpful regarding this by all means go for it. However, the fastest way to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to not know what and where you are.

A way to to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to use an eye massager such as RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression. Besides from turning off the outward-facing sense of seeing, the heat soften the eyes. And when they are relaxed, they do not focus. Hence they automatatically turn inwards and upwards to merge with the third eye.

»… and there shall be no light there, and they need no candle there, neither the light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light.« Rev. 22:5

When your eyes are so soft that they do not focus, there is nothing to prevent glimpses of Enlightenment to merge into one bright white light, namely the Enlightenment of that which is One. It extracts all thoughts, that you have stored making you appear as someone definitive, and leave them at the edge of what may look like a black hole, so there is nobody to experience the nothingness of you smoothly falling into the formlessness of oneness.

Enlightenment is not an out-of-the-body experience as it is not an experience, but its preliminary stage of bliss and compassion, which is connected to the world via the pineal gland, is an experience that is often perceived to be out-of-the-body.

The enlightenment of that which is one is not an out-of-body experience. It is not an experience at all. But its preliminary stages of bliss and compassion, which in the world probably is connected with the pineal gland, is something that may be felt as an out-of-body experience.

However, most are afraid of loosing their identity, so they settle for glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is like a blissful out-of-body experience – presumably linked to the pineal gland which appears to foster states like that.

If you are not tempted to stop at this bliss, but to go where someone definitive cannot go, namely into the Enlightenment of that which i One, it is not an out-of-body experience. On the contrary, there is no experience at all, nor consciousness, because to be awate of something requires more than one.

If you want to leave the Enlightenment of that which is One and be reshaped as someone definitive, you must recollect the thoughts, that was left at the edge of a black hole so you could enter it as nobody.

Returning from the Enlightenment of that which is One to a world where there seems to be more than one, you cannot know, you have been at the other side of a black hole, because you were not there and there is no other side, since there is no more than that which is one. In other words, the person you appear to be is not Enlightened. Yet, due to vague memories of that which is One, you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It is not possible though for somebody else to know, this. You will hardly grasp it yourself. But for sure you grasp, that a world where there seems to be more than one is not real.

Being used to take a ride in the world of the inward-facing senses, that opens up when the outward-facing senses are not fully activated to experience a world defined by time and space, you sense the first sentence of this quote refers to ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God,’ and that the second one to ethereal music.

»At midnight when not a single sound is heard, close your ears with both hands and do Purak Pranayama. Listen to the sounds in your right ear which are very pleasant. The first sound that you will hear is of a pine bird, the second of a flute, third of a cloud, fourth of a dragon bee, the fifth of a ringing bell and then of a gong of metal. Sounds of trumpet, drum etc. are also heard.

Except for having scim read The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita Alexius have not read religious scripts. Therefore, most of the words in the quote from Gherand Samhita are meaningless to him. Besides these, many other sounds are heard if it is practiced daily. These sounds are Anahata (unproduced) and come on their own accord. Nada is related to light. Light is related to mind, so mind gets itself merged in a sound which is the seat of the Lord. Therefore, practice of Bhramari gives Siddhi of Samadhi (i.e., makes Samadhi possible).

Mind gets eightfold more pleasure in the act of meditation than Japa (repeating God’s name), eightfold more interest in Tapas (penance) than the meditation, and eightfold more interest in music or sound than the Tapas. There is nothing greater than music.« Gherand Samhita, stanzas 77-81. Besides for the word ´Nada´ meaning music Alexius does not know the meaning of the Hindi words in this quote, but hearing music inside him – though not so bombastic as described in this quote – he gets the overall meaning of it.

Using noise-cancelling headphones is a great way to close off the outward-facing sense of hearing. Alexius prefers in-ear headphones, though, as they can also be used when going to bed.

A practical way to stop hearing the world of the outward-fencing senses and start listening to the music of the inward-fencing ones is to put both thumbs in your ears or use noise-cancelling headphones or in-ear headphones. Then without focusing or trying to define anything, be nothing but the ethereal music coming to you from what may seem far away.

For tuning in, it is best not to go with the sounds from the left ear. They often come from a busy mind. So instead, follow the harmonies that appear to come from an empty space a bit outside of the right ear. That said, do not pay too much attention to directions.

Maybe you will not hear ethereal harmonies immediately but the humming symbolised by ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God.’ If so, go with that glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It could also be that you ‘hear’ thoughts. But they will not disturb you from hearing eternal harmonies if that is what you want – nor from having visions of light, infinite sweetness or sublime intimacy.

Tasting the sweetness of oneness helps you not to focus on the world of the outward-facing senses. Since this eventually results in not perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference, there is not something specific to hide that which is One.

THE TASTE OF ONENESS
The taste of oneness can be compared to the transparent taste of the foam on a milkshake with a few drops of honey and maybe a hint of either liquorice, strawberry, or mint. It can also be compared to how marshmallows – especially those with a flavour of strawberries – interact with the palate.

Some Chinese Herb Formulations or teas – for example Spring Dragon Longevity Tea – enhance the taste of oneness, provided you already are in touch with it. The same applies to the Ayurvedic teas, that Alexius have tasted that include liquorice.

But it is best not to compare the taste of oneness or other glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One to anything else, as all comparisons are based on definitions from the past, thus cancelling out the ever-present glimpses of Enlightenment.

»Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never be thirsty, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him as a well of water springing up into everlasting life.« John 4:10-4:14.

Even though this taste is called the nectar of life in some scriptures, you should not expect it to make you younger or inject you with more energy in the world of the outward-facing senses. Getting more is an illusion based on the belief that there is more than that which is One.

One way of undoing this belief is not to focus because without it, the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one become blurred. Thus different appearances do not seem to hide, there is no more than the formlessness of oneness. Fortunately, the side-effect of the technique for the taste of oneness is defocusing.

The inner sense of taste not only stops the compulsive focusing on forms but also your cravings for sweets and to experience  something definable. The taste of life is always there and it is free. Neither do you have to meditate or be pure to consume it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula. And if you cannot do that, it is also OK, because doing so is just meant to help you deactivating the outer senses and the only thing that really accomplish that, is the intention to do it. Just like even you are at a springboard, you will not dive from it, if that is not your intention of going there.

The inward fasing sense of taste does not only diminish the compulsive focusing on something definitive but also your cravings for more, for example sweets. This taste is always there. It is free, and you do not have to meditate or be pure to enjoy it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula and devote yourself to the taste of oneness. If you cannot get your tongue all the way, it is not a problem. Doing so is meant to help you deactivating the outward-facing senses and the only thing that really accomplish this, is the intention of doing that. In other words, reaching the uvula with your tongue is good enough. Actually, when you hold the underneath of your tongue on the soft area beneath the uvula you feel the empty breath (see What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?) and get the sweet taste of oneness. This is not a metaphor, nor second-hand knowledge but Alexius’ experience from tasting the subleness of oneness on both sides of the uvula. As a result of this technique, the empty breath is activated. It expands the breathing, which makes the the body feel glorious. And the soft taste of oneness prevents you from focusing on the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you feel absorded by the happiness of abstractness.

The taste of oneness unfolds under the tongue, when it is moved behind the uvula (the skin flap hanging down in the back of the mouth at the entrance to the throat). Placing it there makes you feel like you are not in the world even though you appear there. Besides it cutbacks the need to focus on the world of the outward–facing senses and also the longing for more, especially the craving for sweets. That is if you devote yourself to it – no techniques work without devotion. Yet devotion can work without a technique.

To get the tongue behind the uvula you may have to press it backwards for a long time, maybe for months, and finally use a finger to push it the rest of the way. However, this may make you feel as if you are about to vomit. No worries – it is just a feeling. When you are used to keeping your tongue there, it is easy, and there is no sense of vomiting.

»Khechari Mudra is turning the tongue backwards into the cavity of the cranium and turning the eyes inwards toward the eyebrow center.« Haha-Yoga Pradipika, Chapter 3, stanzas 32-37.

To taste the sweetness of oneness, called Khechari Mudray in the above quote, you do not have to literally replicate the ancient technique. Neither do you have to push the tongue behind the uvula as Alexius wrote above. Reaching the soft area underneath the front of the uvula with the backside of the tongue will do. See also the explanation in the above caption.

THERE IS NO WAY TO THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
You do not welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or samples of its four facets by becoming purer. Neither by breathing wholly, eating healthy or anything else you can do in the world of the outward-facing senses. Still, things like that may help deactivate the outward-facing senses.

However, no technique can do that if it is not the intention of executing it. In other words, the first step is solely about purpose. If that is to deactivate the outward-facing senses, many techniques may work. The second step is to devote yourself to the lucid journey in the world of the inward-facing senses.

These steps only apply to having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and not to welcome in its entirety, as it takes more than one to take any step.

The part of the world of the outer senses you want to experience is not meant to be blurry but in focus, so what you see is definable. It is the other way around with the world of the inner senses,. In other words, the two worlds does in most cases not work well together. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The part of the world of the outward-facing senses you want to experience is not supposed to be blurry. It must be in focus to make the experience definable. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. Your experiences there are abstract. Hence mixing the two worlds does not work out.

DAILY LIFE WITH GLIMPSES OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
It is probably best not to be active in the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. That is because the visual glimpses of Enlightenment can become so intense that the world of the outward-facing senses is hardly sensed.

However, if the technique for tasting the sweetness of oneness is only used for defocusing, it can be carried out all the time while being active in the world of the outward-facing senses. And you can enjoy the ethereal harmonies if you do it without putting your thumbs in the ears and not too long at a time. That also applies to hearing or feeling the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. See Life has no secrets.

The result is the experience of a world less defined. Not to the extent, though, that you cannot move around but that you feel you are carried around.

That is, as long as you do not take the full tour of these glimpses because after 20 minutes, 45 at most, it ends with the Enlightenment of that which is One. Thus you no longer experience being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, nor in oneness since that requires more than one. You are not someone at all, so there is no memory or consciousness of ever having believed that. Instead, there is what always has been and will be, namely that which is one.

The Hebrew word Elohim was originally a symbol for one perpetual present.

The word god, which is a translation of the Hebrew word Elohim, was at first meant to be a metaphor for that which is one and never ends. Hence the word god was originally a symbol for one perpetual present. Maybe because that is not understandable, when you believe to be in a world of linear time, the meaning of the word gradually changed, so that god became a symbol for one almighty force believed to have created the world defined by time and space in its own image.

But what is not definable cannot create something definable. Hence a world defined by time and space is an illusion and so is the perceived creator of that world.

APPENDIX ABOUT THE QUOTES
The terminology of yoga and scriptures – apart from The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita – is unknown to Alexius. So he does not know the scriptures quoted above. He found the quotes by searching the internet.

When everything is included, there does not appear to be something outside you. Consequently, nor inside, as that requires something outside you. Hence there is nothing but the formlessness of oneness.

Alexius does not side with Eastern or Western religions or new-age philosophy. Generally, they exclude what they judge as wrong by projecting it onto non-believers to make them tainted and themselves pure. Yoga, for example, is often based on meditation, where you must exclude something deemed evil to become pure, thus able to return to oneness. But that which is One is formless, thus endless, so you can neither add nor subtract from it. If you try to do that, you enhance the belief that there is more than that which is One.

The inward and outward-facing senses, the Enlightenment and its glimpses

Inner visions of light of anything at all is not the enlightenment of that which is one, as it takes more than one to have a vision. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

It takes more than one to have a vision, so no matter how impressive it may be, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but a glimpse of it. It is comparable to a movie trailer, a sample of the whole, thus not undivided.

The world of the outward-facing senses is experienced via seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting/smelling something that appears material. The world of the inward-facing senses can also be seen, heard, felt and tasted. However, you do not get a sense of something tangible but abstract. It is also here that you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It comes through a hole that sometimes seems black. See the article The ins and outs of a black hole. But following the light into it is the end of both the outward and inward-facing senses. Hence the experience of something is over. Therefore, if you are aware of something, you are not in the Enlightenment of that which is One. Instead, you are in the world of something where you, via the inward-facing senses, have glimpses of Enlightenment while also noticing the world of the outward-facing senses.

If you for a moment forget what and where you are you are, the world of something does not appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.

You get into the Enlightenment of that which is One when its glimpses are not perceived to differ because then there is no separation to define you as someone definitive. Hence there is nobody to prevent the construction of thoughts that have replaced the formlessness of oneness with something specific being extracted by an exceptionally bright white light. Nor is there somebody to be aware that there is nobody. Consequently, nothing gracefully falls through a black hole that is no more because there is no experience to hide the formlessness of oneness.

Therefore, since what you believe in being has not been Enlightened, you appear to be the same if returning to the experience of being someone definitive. However, you do not believe this experience is real due to vague memories of formlessness. Hence you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.


Since the Enlightenment of that which is One has no beginning and end, someone definitive cannot experience it. But glimpses of it – for example, travelling through lucid worlds of light – have a beginning and an end, so they can be experienced. This is done through the inward-facing senses, when the outward ones are toned down.

The outward and inward-facing senses
The outward-facing senses are geared to experience a world perceived as outside you, thus separated from you, whereas the inward-facing senses help you experience a world that does not seem separated from you. However, that does not mean it is inside you. There is neither anything inside nor outside of you, as that requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

It is the same within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, because, scientifically speaking, it consists of empty space. Therefore, what you experience is make-believe – also reading that it may be easier to undo this deception by turning down the volume of the outward-facing senses, and turning up the volume of the inner ones.

If you seem to see an E here, you are using the E, you have made in your mind, to hide all the empty space.

If you believe in seeing an ‘E’ here, you focus on seeing something recognisable to join the brain’s remodelling of empty space into something. The empty space is not the formlessness of oneness, but not when you do not interpret it as something, there do not seem to be substantial elements hiding the formlessness of oneness.

PARTIAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES RESULTS IN GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT
If you do not constantly focus on something specific, the outward-facing senses cannot fabricate the experiences of a world defined by time and space. Therefore, the more you defocus, the more the definable world of the outward-facing senses is complemented by the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. Thus you get glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One: light shows if you are visual-minded, ethereal music if you are auditory-minded, and flavours or feelings if you are emotional-minded.

In the article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them, you can read how to see, hear, feel and taste glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is One.

Just welcome the glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One that comes your way. But do not try to hang onto a specific glimpse or have it repeated. And it changes into another aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One, go with that without trying to mix them.

These glimpses, as already noted, are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because it has no room for someone being conscious of something since that requires more than one. That does not mean what you believe in being is transformed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Instead, it is dismissed as an illusion.

Practically speaking, it might be best to downplay the visual glimpses of Enlightenment in daily life. That is because you will have difficulty navigating the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. But in most cases, you can safely go with glimpses of hearing, feeling or tasting the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The purpose of the inward-facing senses is to draw you into their abstract world, thus undoing the belief of being someone definitive – like a moth cannot help but follow its attraction to the flame, even though it is going to end of it.

Much devotion to the world of the inward-facing senses probably makes you spaced out in the world of the outward-facing senses. Yet, if you do not have to be present there, you can go with the flow of the inward-facing senses, as if the world outside you stands still. But suppose you have to do something demanding in the world of the outward-facing senses. In that case, it is best to mostly devote yourself to the outward-facing senses, so the abstractness of the inward-facing senses does not space you out.

NOT FOCUSING ON THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
As mentioned above, the more you defocus, the more the inward-facing senses take over. In the case of the Enlightenment of that which is One they do that entirely, and for having glimpses of Enlightenment, they do it partly. If you want to experience daily life in the world of the outward-fencing senses through the inward-facing senses, they are only used to the extent that you still can function as someone in the world of the outward-fencing senses. In other words, you do not have glimpses of Enlightenment, but you have an enjoyable experience of doing things in the world of the outward-fencing senses.

But you do not tone down the outward-facing senses if you want to escape them because you enhance what you try to escape psychologically. On the other hand, the more you wish to get close to reality, the more the outward-facing senses fade out because the inward-facing senses are much closer to the reality of that which is One. However, do not mistake them for reality. Instead, enjoy them taking you there.

Of course, this is a metaphor. You can never return to oneness because you never left it since that takes more than one. Therefore, you are not taken anywhere, but the belief in being somewhere is taken away, so nothing seems to hide that which is One.

HIGHWAY ONE
What you appear to be in a world where there seems to be more than one is a creation of the brain, governed by it. You have no free will but to perceive its arrangements in your way. However, this does not mean you cannot choose to go right or left, for example. But whatever you choose, the subsequent actions are premade by the brain – just like in a computer game where every step is programmed. In other words, if you choose to have the outward and inward-facing senses synced, the brain has a plan for that, namely, to take you on a journey without distance.

Thus you are on Highway One, which has no direction, and since you are going nowhere, eventually, you realise it has always been the case. Consequently, the belief in having left that which is One is undone. In other words, you are not a puppet of the brain anymore and never were because a world where there seems to be more than one is not real, as oneness is formless, thus endless. However, since we still appear as somebody in a world with more than one, we continue within that context below.

The body’s healing caused by partly being devoted to the inward-facing senses is a side effect that helps you not worry about its appearance and inevitable end.

THE INWARD-FACING SENSES AND THE BODY
Devotion to the inward-facing senses will heal your body because it gives the body the peace it needs to heal itself. That may not include genetically caused diseases.

However, due to the tranquillity of the inward-facing, a genetically created condition does not generate fear. Thus it is easier to deal with (see hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues).

But suppose the body’s well-being is the purpose of devoting yourself to the inward-facing senses. Since that means you focus on something specific, you do not enter the world of the inward-facing senses, so the body is not being nurtured by it.

TOTAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES BIDS WELCOME THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
Complete devotion to the inward-facing senses welcomes the Enlightenment of that which is One, which immediately erases all memories of you being someone. Since that means you are not there anymore and never were, nobody knows how long this takes. Besides, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not a process but one perpetual present.

But at first, it may seem to be a process, and as long as that is the case, the brain that produced your experiences as someone is still operating. Thus it can be rebooted and recreate the experience of you as someone definitive. But since it takes more than one to be anything, the reestablished experience cannot contain the Enlightenment of that which is One. So although you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, you look the same. The only difference is that you know it is not you.

However, as soon as the Enlightenment of that which is One does not seem to be a process, the brain cannot be rebooted and, therefore, not produce the experience of you as a substantial being in a tangible world. Hence there is nothing to hide that which always has been and always will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. There is, of course, nobody to be aware of this since it takes more than one to be conscious of something.

A perfect moment with glimpses of enlightenment is something you are aware of. If you stop being aware of it, you cannot see any glimpse. There is nothing and that is where the enlightenment of that which is one sets in. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Depending on how much you use the inward-facing senses to perceive your experiences in the world of the outward-fencing senses, you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, its glimpses or simply have a pleasant day. The Enlightenment erases all experiences, so there is nothing to sense, not even that which is One, since it takes more than one to be aware of something. Having its glimpses, you notice the world of the outward-fencing senses, but it does not mean much to you. But just using the inward-facing senses a little, there are no glimpses of Enlightenment, and you are much aware of the world of the outward-facing senses. However, it looks friendlier, and you feel more relaxed..

IS THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE REQUIRED TO UNDO THE BELIEF IN BEING SOMEONE?
The Enlightenment of that which is One can be said to be the last step back to the formlessness of oneness. But as formlessness is endless, you have never left it. Thus it is not about going back but realise how you hide the formlessness of oneness by believing in being definitive.

As already mentioned, the Enlightenment of that which is One undoes that belief in a split second. However, this can also be achieved while enjoying the world of the outward-facing senses. In the below box, there are some suggestions on how to do this:

The more you perceive the apparent differences in the world of the outward-facing senses to not make a difference, the more the outward-facing senses function as a set-off to that which is One (hack #3.1 Inclusiveness is freedom).

The same applies to pretending to be definitive (hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or seeing symbols of life in the world (hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness).

And it also applies to being alone together, which does not mean that you are together with one or more who also are alone, but that you are alone together with your fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one, no matter how many there seem to be around you (hack #7.1 Alone together, we go home).

The empty breath (HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss) syncs the outward-facing senses with the inward-facing ones, so you over time are able to devote yourself so much to the glimpses of Enlightenment that they do not seem separated, wherefore the Enlightenment of that which is One sets in.

You do not even need Alexius’ Duality Hacks to have the belief in being someone undone. All that is necessary is not to remember what and where you are because then the belief in being someone definitive does not appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.


Since multitasking allows you to experience both love and hate emotions simultaneously, hate is as blissful as love. Furthermore, multitasking disturbs the brain, making it harder for it to focus on something specific, thus undoing the belief in being someone definitive.

The reason that so many avoid multitasking is that it leaves them no time to suppress hate so they can uphold their perfect image of love. But since love cannot be defined without hate, their perfect love is fake. Thus they are not full of love but shit. However, not suppressing hate, your love is defined by hatred and vice versa. Therefore when you feel hate, there is also love. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Here the world of the inner senses are about to shift to bright white light, which is gonna extract all the info you have collected in order to appear as somebody and leave it at the edge at a black hole so that there is nobody to fall into the nothingness of that which is one. This is not compatible with appearing in a world, where there seems to be more than one, so if that is what you want, you better make sure the info making up your personality is not extracted or you know where to find it again. This image could illustrate the last glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One before you give up being aware of something. There is no transition from having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and being sucked into it. And since it is one perpetual present, you do not know when it extracts all your thoughts about being someone so that nobody is sucked into a black hole, and it gracefully falls into that which One. It is incompatible with appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, so if you want to continue like that, you better stop the extraction of thoughts. You can do that, for example, by fearing to disappear because it takes more than one to fear something. Thus you immediately appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

WHERE DO GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT COME FROM
Physically speaking, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One seem to originate from a non-defined space behind the frequencies of thoughts near the pineal gland. It is probably also from there that you perceive the world when you are in a state of not-knowing.

The same applies when you pretend to be a person or perceive everything in the world as symbols of oneness. The empty breath – sounding like sohang – is presumably picked up from there as well, physically speaking.

Furthermore, the pineal gland might work as a receiver for signals picked up by the eighth chakra above the head. Maybe the pineal gland or the eighth chakra is involved when experiencing glimpses of Enlightenment. You cannot know because you are blown out of the experience – and afterwards, you do not know where to look. And this is fine because focusing on the pineal will not bring about any of the above. It contracts the energy, so you feel boxed in as someone definitive. On the other hand, defocusing removes restrictions wherefore, you do not feel limited to being someone specific.

Notes on ‘The Enlightenment of that which is One’ and glimpses of it

The outward-facing senses create such expressive images that we choose to believe a world where everything is separated by time and space are real. However, when the outward-facing senses are entirely turned off, there is no time and space. Hence nothing to hide that the abstractness of the inward-facing senses flows straight into an explosion coming out of a black hole or maybe into it. There is no way to know which way it is because this is the Enlightenment of that which is One, and it takes more than one to be aware of something.

Also, an explosion may not be the best word to describe it because there is nothing but empty space carrying the nothingness of you into the formlessness of oneness. Yet, this is neither correct because nothing happens. It is not necessary. You have never left oneness, as it is formless, thus endless.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Although oneness is endless, it does not last forever. On the contrary, it lasts no time because it is one perpetual present. However, this never-ending story cannot be told in a world defined by time and space. So if you want to hear it, you must leave the belief that time and space are real. However, without this belief, there is nothing specific to hear. That is why you are the story of one perpetual present.

But reading this article, you believe in being someone in a world defined by time and space in which everything, like Lego bricks, seems layered in levels of something different. Within this context, it also appears as if there are levels of turning off the outward-facing senses, thus being more or less in the world of the inward-facing senses with glimpses of Enlightenment.

Depending on the strength of the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, it is like momentarily dying from the world of the outward-facing senses. So if you are occupied by something there, it can be disconcerting.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be seen. That is why it appears hidden as long as you look for something.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In a world where there seems to be more than one, it is a basic instinct to separate oneself from reality by fabricating a make-believe world – a child, for example, prefers to believe that Christmas presents come from Santa Claus, although he does not seem very realistic. And grown-ups like to believe that being someone is real.

However, these glimpses are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because there are no levels in that which is One. Nonetheless, the glimpses of Enlightenment slowly but surely undo the belief in differences, so someday you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. And since it is timeless, it takes no time to have any leftovers of the belief in separation undone.

If you, after having bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, return to a world defined by time and space, it will be as someone definitive without the formlessness of oneness. Still, you have vague memories of it, which is enough to know there is no more than that which is One. And since it takes more than one to be aware of something, all experiences are seen as fake.

To sum up: When partially turning off the outward-facing senses, the inward-facing senses is only partly triggered, so you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is an experience going on while still aware of the world of the outward-facing senses.

These glimpses can be compared to watching a movie trailer. But then again, it is not really so because both the trailer and the film are something you experience. And the Enlightenment of that which is One, bid welcome by completely turning off the inward-facing senses, cannot be experienced, as that requires more than one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Glimpses of Enlightenment, which many mistakes for the Enlightenment of that which is One, may leave you with the impression that it is possible to fuse heaven and earth, thus creating a better world. But neither dictators, rich people, political or so-called spiritual-minded persons have ever succeeded in creating a world like they think it should be.

Instead of acknowledging this, most who have had one or more glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One start teaching others how to make the world better. They put together a new philosophy based on their interpretation of one or more glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, mixed up with speculative ideas about spirituality and maybe ancient meditation traditions and whatnot.

For example, they may encourage not being conditioned so that you can be free in the present moment. But the experience of that or anything else is based on the conditioned belief that you are someone defined by time and space. However, it is not a fact, but an idea, that you blindly follow. You choose that to establish you are someone definitive in a world defined by time and space instead of the formlessness of oneness.

Mixing things may work well for you in a world defined by time and space. But not in the formlessness of oneness. Since blending something requires more than one, it is impossible to mix anything, so combining the different facets of the Enlightenment of that which is one fences it off.

That said, if you do not do the taste of life technique for the sake of the taste but for its benefits regarding defocusing, you can do this while being devoted to either seeing, hearing or feeling glimpses of Enlightenment.

This image of the same mountain, as in the other pictures in this article, again shows that you can have many different glimpses of it and that they are all coloured by the one having the glimpses. However, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not coloured by the one experiencing. It is impossible to do that since it would require more than one. In other words, there is nothing personal about the Enlightenment of that which is One. Yet, describing it via vague memories is like everything else, where more than one seems to be involved, coloured by the personality of the describer as well as by the one interpreting it. If you perceive somebody to cheat or reject you or something else judged as unfair and acknowledge you are mistaken, you set yourself and others free from being defined. It is in your best interest to set everybody free, even though you think not everyone deserves it. Setting yourself and others free, the world of the outward-facing senses fades out. Hence the door opens to the world of the inward-facing senses, and you have glimpses of Enlightenment of that which is One.

You do not find the Enlightenment of that which is One like you find other things in a world defined by time and space. But when you do not try to find anything, there is not something to hide it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is one, it is like being transported in a driverless car that is programmed to take you to your favourite spot. There you carelessly forget to define the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one, so they merge into one bright light, tone, emotion or taste that absorbs everything definable and carries the nothingness of you back into the formlessness of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Enlightenment and the glimpses of it are in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings described in a certain way. But elsewhere, it may be described in another way – just like two persons often describe the same cup of coffee differently.

So do not wait for the Enlightenment of that which is One, or the glimpses of it, to be revealed precisely as described in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. In other words, trying to extract a specific way to the Enlightenment of that which is One or its glimpses from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, will not help you. It is better to forget all words about it and thrust the light, sound, feeling, or taste of the Enlightenment of that which is One to do its thing when you partly are willing not to be someone definitive.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You will have no more than one glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One if you use your interpretation of this glimpse to promote yourself as someone with a vision for a better future full of love or whatever you imagine will make you appear important.

When there is no need to use glimpses of Enlightenment to save the world but rather to undo the belief in it, you are set free to be used by the glimpses. Hence they keep coming until you cannot tell them apart, wherefore there is not something definable to experience, thus nothing to hide the formless Enlightenment of that which is One.

In a dream, there is no way to prove it is unreal because there is nothing real in it. Regardless of the distances and the different persons in a dream, there are no distances and no differences. Everything in the dream plays out in the dreamer, although none of it is there or anywhere else. The same applies to what experience when awake, except that nobody experiences it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Metaphorically the Enlightenment of that which is One is a moment that starts in a dream of something. Yet, at the same moment, the dream is over. But since you were not in the dream, nobody is awakened with a new consciousness. On the contrary, there is no awareness of you ever having been someone in a world of something. There is just one bright light – so intense that there is nothing to see and nothing to be.

The light sucks what has been stripped free of the belief in something through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. That is, if there are no leftovers of the belief in something. In that case, you think the Enlightenment of that which is One is something, thus getting back into the world of something.

Therefore, those who talk about their exciting experiences of Enlightenment have not, as nothing, been sucked through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. They held onto their belief in something to fence off the Enlightenment of that which is One and instead have glimpses of it. They can be experienced as something you see, hear, feel or taste. However, since it requires more than one to experience something, the glimpses are not the Enlightenment of that which is One.

For someone who is fed up with the experience of something, it is frustrating only to have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. But for those who love to experience something, it is perfect because the glimpses can be used to pump up lecturing or writing books about the experience of a vast empty space full of pure love, consciousness, bliss, or something else, that makes them appear to have something better than others. Having something, though, has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One because it takes more than one to have something.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One never asks, »who am I?«because there is no more than that which is One, thus not a world where there seems to be more than one. Consequently, someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One has no need for communities, discussions, so-called interesting exchanges or dialogues, sending love or anything else to make it appear as if there is more than one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There are no degrees of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It cannot be smaller or bigger because oneness is formless. However, in a world where there seems to be more than one, there are degrees of everything. That is why you can experience glimpses of Enlightenment on many levels depending on how much the outward-facing senses are turned off. The after-effect of ‘a state of not-knowing’ [under construction]

This article is a continuation of A state of not-knowing, how to get there.

THE AFTER-EFFECT OF A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
If you do not want to end the experience of being somebody, you need to leave a state of not-knowing after 20 minutes, 45 at most – otherwise, there is not somebody to repeatedly confirm that the experiences fabricated by the brain are something. Therefore, since they are exposed as nothing, there does not appear to be something keeping the brain together, wherefore it falls into a coma.

Since the slate has been wiped clean in a state of not-knowing, you come back to the conscious experience of being someone without the desire to be independent, thus free to follow the brain’s script. See hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy. That feels like you start from the ground up, moving very slowly with no other purpose than to fine-tune the body as a tool for the experience of a tangible world. That is not done systemically with coordinated movement, breathing, and meditation.

However, since most seekers look for something they can mimic to appear spiritual, they assume they magically enter a higher state by imitating these slow movements in a focused mode via Tai Chi or Qigong. A state of not-knowing, though, does not arise from focusing but from defocusing. That said, it can also occur from being deeply involved in something, as long as it is not done per a particular philosophy or to escape the present.

Returning with the slate wiped clean from a state of not-knowing to the experience of being someone, the relationships you used to stand by may seem dull, as you do not need to exploit others when not conditined to be unique.

As long as the after-effect of a state of not-knowing lasts, which can be from a few seconds to several years, you rely on the brain to produce experiences of being someone in a tangible world – just like you depend on it to compose a dream. Going along with the experiences as the brain makes them, and not as you think they should be, feels like sleepwalking. It is effortless unless you insist on doing things your way, which is very stressful. But fortunately, uncontrolled stress ignites a take-off into the empty breath and the bliss of nothing, from where you return with a clean slate, thus having an effortless life as someone in the brain’s fantasy of a tangible world.

Each time you return from a state of not-knowing to the belief in being someone, thus have forgotten the bliss of nothing, the empty breath remembers it for you. And like it syncs being nobody with being somebody, so you can move around in nothing as if it is something when in a state of not-knowing, it also does that when you return to the consciousness of being someone. But, of course, the ratio is different in the after-effect of a state of not-knowing.

In a state of not-knowing, there is so little consciousness of being somebody that there is nobody to perceive the different experiences to make a difference. That is why you are in the bliss of nothing. But in the after-effect, the empty breath syncs the bliss of nothing with the conscious experience of something, so the nothingness is forgotten when you need to be aware of driving a car, for example. In other words, in a state of not-knowing, you are mainly nobody and, in the after-effect, somebody.

Be aware that there is no will to perceive anything in a particular way in a state of not-knowing. And the transition from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone is not noticed because there is not somebody to be aware of having been in a state of not-knowing. Nor do you not know that the bliss of nothing has wiped the slate clean, so your perceptions automatically are generated in sync with the brain’s script (see hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy). However, you notice you are in the duality flow (see hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality) because you have no need to uphold a specific interpretation of something.

But suppose the satisfaction this entails feels too basic compared with the vague memories of bliss that eventually pop up from nowhere. In that case, you may insist on a specific interpretation of the memories that seem to extend the bliss. Therefore, since you appear to be able to integrate the bliss of nothing into the world of something and since the world wants to be fooled, they are impressed. But not you because what you did is like adding a zero to a number, so nothing has changed.

Thoughts and feelings may seem distant in a state of not-knowing, but when you return to the consciousness of being someone definitive, they are very close. However, since they are no longer perceived as something but nothing, you enjoy the intimacy of nothing in whatever shape it appears to take. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

In short, those insisting on free will, see the brain as a slave driver, so they they reject its game of something. And when they fail to make it better, they blame the brain. But those not trying to change something because they remember from a state of not-knowing that it is nothing, they have fun appearing as someone.

That does not necessarily mean it always is like that. Your conditioned way of reacting to something may be so deeply rooted that you return to a familiar response pattern. But, no worries, a quick visit to a state of not-knowing, and you start over again with a clean slate in the brain’s fantasy world of something.

Sooner or later, you feel so entertained by this fantasy that you forget to remember being someone. Thus there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

APPENDIX:
To be in sync with the script of the brain does not mean you have to like it but that you have to relate to it and not as you think it should be per a particular philosophy. In other words, whether you respond with anger or joy to the brain’s script, you are in a dialogue with the brain, thus feeling its love.

But if you reject the brain’s script by responding to a story believed superior, such as socialism, you are not communicating with the brain but your fable about a better world. Hence you do not feel the brain’s love for you but are always looking for something better.

Having a perception in sync with the brain’s script is very easy. If you do not try to make a perception of your reaction to it, the brain does it automatically. Therefore, since you are in sync, you feel its love.

NOTHING TWISTED INTO SOMETHING
It takes more than one to appear as someone, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Hence appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is a fantasy made from nothing, experienced by nobody.

That is not to say that oneness is nothing because it takes more than one to be anything. For the same reason, it is impossible to fantasise about more than one in oneness. Yet, it seems possible to sense more than one away from it. But since oneness is endless, there is nothing outside of it. Thus seeing something is a mirage. Maybe that is why science concludes that the world we believe in seeing consists of empty space.

Just like everything else sensed, the empty breath is invisible and colourless until the brain ascribes it to a specific shape and colour. But as the empty breath does not aspire to be something, the brain does not care to twist it into an object. Thus it remains invisible and colourless.

Not knowing what and where you are is the bliss of not believing to be someone

In the connectedness with the empty breath, the apparent difference between the opposing sides of the contrasts making up the experience of duality is cancelled out. Not in the sense that you do not register them anymore but that you do not perceive them to make a difference. THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Though science seems to know that the experience of something is made from nothing, thus make-believe, they explore the experiences as if they are real. However, in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, we expose that the experience of something is fabricated from nothing by the brain, so it appears to exist. The experiences only seem real when perceived as something. If not, they are exposed as nothing. The easiest way to not perceive them as something is to go back in time to the nothingness that the brain twists into your everyday experience of something.

Since it has taken the brain one second to fabricate your recent experience, it only takes one second to go back to the nothingness it has twisted into something, thus the bliss of nothing. That happens when you connect with the empty breath because it resides in nothing. Connecting with it is not about being deeper, purer or balanced. Being something is part of the experience of being someone, and the empty breath is not part of that but the nothingness that this experience is fabricated from.

In other words, you connect with the empty breath when you do not organise thoughts and feelings into something specific but instead step into the complete uncontrolled chaos of thoughts and feelings to ignite a take-off into the empty breath

WHAT AND WHERE ARE THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
What you see, hear, feel and taste in the world of the inward and outward-facing senses are based on the same sensory system. Thus their different names do not mean they differ from each other, physically speaking. But they are different ways of experiencing the same frequencies of nothingness that the brain twists into experiences that seem to prove you are authentic if they are perceived as something.

In the case of the inward-facing senses, the experience of its world is abstract because the brain has not yet processed the frequencies of nothingness to appear as physical elements outside you. Thus it feels as if the world is inside you. But in the world of the outward-facing senses, the brain has completed processing nothing into something, so you appear as someone definitive in a tangible world outside of you.

However, since it takes more than one to experience something, and since there is no more than oneness, any experience is an illusion, whether from the outward or inward-facing senses.

It takes nobody to know where the inner senses are


The abstract world of the inward-facing senses is experienced when time and space are not entirely considered real. Ultimately speaking, though, these experiences from the inward-facing senses are not more real than those via the outward-facing senses because any experience requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Thus it is only in the context of the brain’s plot to deceive you into experiencing nothing as something that there is someone to experience an abstract world, lightly processed by the brain from the frequencies of nothingness and a substantial world, heavily processed by the brain from the same frequencies.

The abstract experiences of the inward-facing senses open up when you do not entirely believe in being someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. But there is little left of this belief when you are in the world of the inward-facing senses. Otherwise, there would be nobody to experience the world of the inward-facing senses. In other words, when you appear to be nobody in the world of the inward-facing senses, you have not totally left the belief in being somebody. Nevertheless, you may initially feel scared by the abstractness of the inward-facing senses. But since this fear comes from the belief in being somebody and the empty breath undoes this belief, there is nothing to fear if you connect with it.

Not being someone specific feels as if you are nothing, which seems pretty discomforting until you realise that being empty, you are a vessel for the empty breath, which takes you into the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, where glimpses of Enlightenment become the base for experiencing the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses. THE FEAR OF THE INWARD-FACING SENSES
You must constantly concentrate and focus on the world of outward-facing senses to make it appear real. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. That is experienced when there is no effort to focus or concentrate.

As long as you intend to appear in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is best to multitask between the inward and outward-facing senses, so you can focus when needed and space out when nothing is required from you.

However, you can only do that if you are willing not to always give your full attention to the structured world of the outward-facing senses but also go with the unstructured flow of the inward-facing senses. That may not seem very comforting, but it is the other way around. In the world of the outward-facing senses, we are always afraid of not making it, whereas we have nothing to live up to in the world of the inward-facing senses.

But we cannot remain in this abstract world if we want to go on in a world defined by time and space. Fortunately, the empty breath is an automatic gear shift between the outward and inward-facing senses, so we go back and forth between them per our present situation.

Alexius connected with the empty breath when he, as a child, every night devoted himself to the whereabouts of the breath, thus going to sleep in the bliss of nothing. However, others were talking so much about becoming something higher, so the bliss of nothing seemed foolish to bring about.

Thus he hid the emptiness by pretending to be something until he started writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in 2012. But it was not before writing HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss, he named the way to the bliss of nothing as the empty breath.

THE EMPTY BREATH SYNCS THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
Even though you hide from the sun, it remains where it is – likewise, the empty breath. Therefore, if we once connected with it, even briefly, the empty breath remains with us. It does not know we do not feel connected because it is unaware that we believe we are separated beings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses.

Yet, the empty breath senses the stress from this belief, so it synchs our discomfort with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. It does not do it because this world is more peaceful than the world of the outward-facing senses. But because the stress in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem stressful in the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses.

In other words, since the abstractness of the inward-facing senses syncs with the solidness of the outward-facing senses per what and where we appear to be, none of them seems to dominate. Actually, when synced, they do not look like something but nothing.

Connecting with the empty breath does not require meditation or other techniques based on exclusion, restraint and control. But neither does the connection require you to not be exclusive because if you stand by your unwillingness to be include everything unedited, the uncontrolled energy of suppression ignites a take-off to the empty breath.

But this does not work if you suppress the small involuntary movements brought about by small explosions of thoughts igniting mini take-offs into the empty breath, where you fall into place with the inward and outward-facing senses. Therefore, follow your present, electric-like, physical and mental impulses to get this synchronisation. For example, if the shoulders tighten up, be ready for mental relaxation when they fall. Or, if feeling sad, be prepared to feel physically good from a wholesome breath.

Sometimes, something more extreme is needed to make you realise the senses have been synced, like when Alexius as a child, returned to his home after school, ranged the doorbell with blood on the head, and said, Who am I? He had been involved in an accident and had no idea about what and where he was. That remained, although his parents thought he soon returned to normal. However, being like they expected was something he pretended as he always had done but was unaware of until now. You cannot help the empty breath with the synchronisation. Still, you can prevent yourself from interfering with it, for instance, by doing Nordic Walking for half an hour every day, using RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression before going to sleep and sleeping with far-infrared heating pads.

It is essential to accept that although everything looks like before you were connected with the empty breath, nothing feels the same. At first, it may seem blander because the kicks from especially high experiences in the world of the outward-facing senses are gone. But when you realise that is because, in the connection with the empty breath, you do not split up the duality pairs in separate entities.

Therefore, since high is complemented by low, feeling high includes feeling down, and vice versa, so you feel complete regardless of going up or down. This literally feels like being the waves of the ocean, where you are neither up nor down but in the constant movement between opposites. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

There are many ways to appear in a world defined by time and space, but there is no way to leave it because you are not in it. Like within the context of such a world, a dreamer is not in their dream and, therefore, does not return to bed when the dream is over. Likewise, you do not return to the formlessness of oneness when your apparent life in a world defined by time and space is finished because you never left the formlessness of oneness. APPENDIX
Since most resist being nobody, they are unwilling to undo the belief in being somebody. But if you acknowledge this, you confirm what you appear to be is make-believe. Thus you have the willingness to undo the belief in being somebody. See also Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one.

That does not mean you suddenly are gone, reborn or awakened. The story of Santa Claus does not change when you grow up. What changes is that we do not believe it is real anymore. However, there is one difference between the story of Santa Claus and the story of someone specific in a world defined by time and space. When the belief in the latter is undone or in the process of being it, you are not disappointed. Instead, you feel free to enjoy the story till it ends.

You can take breaks from the story by connecting with the empty breath, thus being in a state of not-knowing. And when not connected with the empty breath, it helps you live out the story by syncing the inward and outward-facing. Since this makes you indifferent to a specific interpretation of something, you are in the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

When connected with the empty breath, what you seem to receive from the world is always the same because you receive what you give and give what you have, namely the indifference of the empty breath.

Feeling the connectedness with the empty breath, you cannot help but smile because, in the flow of the empty breath, you are indifferent to becoming and getting more.

The function of the empty breath is not to improve the apparent condition of what and where you appear to be. That would be a replacement of one illusion with another. Instead, its function is to facilitate the undoing of the belief that what and where you appear to be is real.

Being connected with the empty breath, you are indifferent to the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one – just like you are indifferent to the experienced differences in the world of a movie or a computer game because you know they are make-believe. Actually, the empty breath still takes care of you when you forget it. Of course. you cannot feel it as described in What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?. But since it syncs the inward and outward-facing (read more about that here), you are indifferent to a specific interpretation of something, thus in the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

It is impossible to leave oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Yet, it seems possible to imagine not being there but in a world where there seems to be more than one. In that context, the empty breath is a life jacket you got from oneness when you left it to be and have more than one.

The empty breath loves you unconditionally. Thus it is not bothered by what and where you believe to be. Actually, it does not even know this fantasy of being someone definitive. It can only be shared by those who want that. But the empty breath has no way of being or seeing something because it is nothing, thus seeing nothing.

That is why every experience of something is perceived as nothing being connected with the empty breath. Of course, this does not mean that you do not do anything about a broken leg, for example. But since it is seen as nothing, you do not add worries to your broken leg. Therefore, since changing or transforming something or somebody does not seem appealing, you have a laid-back life with the empty breath.

Taking deep breaths or, in any other way manipulating the breath is not beneficial for connecting with the empty breath because doing so enhances the belief in being in charge. The same applies to making yourself centred, balanced, focused or something else.

But the willingness not to hold back thoughts connects you with the empty breath because their uncontrolled energy ignites a take-off into it, whether you walk, sit, talk or whatnot. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

The more you limit yourself to being someone definitive, the more you feel like collapsing. To prevent that, you improve your definition until you feel so constrained that you burst into anger or stop giving a shit about holding yourself together. Thus the uncontrolled energy of the suppressed thoughts and feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath. However, it does not help you escape your cage but the belief that you are in it.

When you do not define what is going on so you can remain in the fantasy of being someone unique, unconfined thoughts or feelings repeatedly shoot off to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

What you see on the screen are zeros and ones stored on a hard disk simulated as something on the screen. Yet, it is not before the combination of zeros and ones on the hard disk is processed by an app into the world that appears to be on the screen that the nothingness of the hard disk is experienced as a world that you can change.

The empty breath, which in this context is unprocessed zeros and ones, does not know that you assign special meaning to the nothingness on the screen, which in this context is the world, so you appear to be someone experiencing something instead of nothing.

All the empty breath knows is that there is no more than the formlessness of oneness. Thus all that it wants is to breathe emptiness into what you believe to be and see so that it does not seem to hide, there never was or will be more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

If the present stream of thoughts or feelings is not manipulated or suppressed, its natural energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. You can make up stories of love or anything else in its presence without leaving the empty breath because it sees the world where you believe in being as a blank computer screen. So although the stories you fabricate seem to disclose something, the screen remains empty.

In other words, it does not matter how you perceive the experiences produced by the brain when you are with the empty breath. You do not need the happiness from being in sync with the brain. You are in the bliss of nothing until you define it as something.

If something seems to bother you, use the frustration to ignite a take-off into the empty breath so you can see that what you judge as something terrible is nothing. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

Since that which is One cannot be experienced, it is ignored by those who believe that something unexplainable is unreal. At best, it is imagined as a state of consciousness in which the self has been transcended into a higher one. However, oneness has nothing to do with being somewhere or conscious of something because that requires more than one. So does being someone. The empty breath is not about getting healthier, more money, success, love or anything else, but seeing what you appear to be and have is nothing. Hence there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

As you probably have read many times in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, it requires more than one to experience something. Therefore, since oneness is formless, thus endless, every experience is fictional. That also includes the experience of the empty breath. It is as unreal as any other experience.

Yet this experience, which is deeply rooted in an archetypical image of a never-ending rhythmic flow, slowly but surely undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Furthermore, it makes it seems unproblematic to have this belief. Not in the sense that you are not troubled by anything but indifferent to it.

If this feels confusing, do not try to figure it out. But go with the chaos flow until you cannot make ends meet and feel as if you are about to explode, which in a sense also happens when the build-up tensions ignite a take-off into the empty breath. It results in a state of not-knowing, so you are not bound up with the belief in being someone definitive until you leave this state and return to that belief.

Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings gladly proclaim they are nothing. So when connecting with the empty breath, there is nothing to perceive the present moment as something. The changeover to a state of not-knowing may seem unpleasant. That is because the brain tries to distract you from leaving its definable world by producing very tangible and disturbing experiences, making you feel attacked as someone definitive. See also Stories about inclusion.

Following the empty breath, you automatically multitask because it does not know the concept of focusing on something specific. So when you do not feel the empty breath, multitasking makes you feel it.

Entering a state of not-knowing (see A state of not-knowing, how to get there) only takes a second. It happens automatically when you have lost all hope of fixing your problems because that makes the uncontrolled energy of your worries ignite a take-off into the empty breath. When you leave a state of not-knowing, the slate has been wiped clean (see The after-effect of a state of not-knowing). Therefore, since you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is‘ (see hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy), you have nothing to hope for. Thus, you are free.

Where to find the bliss of ‘the empty breath’

The bliss of the empty breath may be felt like an intangible yin-yang sign

When you do not believe to be made of substantial elements, empty space takes over. That can, of course, not be illustrated. Instead, this yin-yang illustration simulates the swing of the empty breath. It generates emptiness in you, thus the bliss of nothing. Read more about that here. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

When experiences are perceived as something, it is impossible to be in the bliss of nothing, revealed by the empty breath. Thus the connection must be established before the brain, based on signals it claims to receive from our sensory system, delivers a convincing experience of being somebody substantial in a tangible world.

Science states that the world we believe in feeling and seeing consists of 99.9999999 per cent empty space. And the rest – despite also being empty space consisting of nothing substantial – is what we perceive as elements of matter making up a tangible world where we appear to be somebody definitive.

In other words, since the perception of the body as an opaque, tangible and definable thing is make-believe, an out-of-body experience is just as illusionary as an in-the-body experience. 

On account of this taking one second for the brain to accomplish, the connection with the empty breath is established by going back one second from your present experience (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath, and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ). One second ago, your present experience was nothing because the brain had not processed it into something. Therefore, since there is not something to define you when you go back one second, there is no difference between you and the empty breath.

That has nothing to do with getting closer to your pure essence. There is no soul. You are nothing. It becomes obvious when being with the empty breath. Hence you return to the world of something as nobody, having fun pretending to be somebody. How to connect with the bliss of the empty breath

You connect with the empty breath by not connecting with the consciousness of you as someone definitive experiencing the tangible world that the brain spends a second fabricating from the frequencies it imagines to receive from empty space. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
The empty breath
sees no separation, so it has no need to connect with you. But you believe in separation, so you need to connect with it to become indifferent to that belief See also, You exist nowhere but in dreams, and they are not real.

Forget about being conscious of the empty breath because what you are aware about is never the present but the past.

When you connect with the empty breath by going back one second to the nothingness the brain has processed into your present experience of something, the unprocessed moment is extended into a state of not-knowing. In this state, you do not pick up on the brain’s deceptive fabrication of you as someone substantial in a tangible world. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

However, this state cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, because the brain feels abandoned if its experiences are not perceived as real continuously. Therefore, since it falls into a coma, you cannot stay too long at a time in a state of not-knowing if you want to return to being someone in the experience created by the brain. But suppose you do not wish to appear in the brain’s experiences anymore. In that case, you do not mind that the brain stops mapping out empty space as if you are someone substantial in a tangible world because then, via the Enlightenment of that which is One, the nothingness of you gently falls through a black hole into that which is one.

Therefore, regardless you want to remain as someone definitive or not, a state of not-knowing induced by the empty breath is bound to end pretty soon so that the consciousness of being someone definitive can be resumed or completely erased.

No need to worry about accidentally staying too long in a state of not-knowing. First, hardly anybody comes to the point where the brain starts falling apart. Secondly, should you reach that point but long to be someone, fear of survival will set in. That is enough to reboot the brain, thus the experience of being someone definitive.

Is it the bliss of the empty breath that undoes the belief in being someone definitive, or is it the undoing that connects you with the bliss of the empty breath? Since this question arises from the belief in being someone definitive, a fantasy fabricated by the brain, an answer would make the illusion real. The same applies to asking who has invented this illusion or who chose to undo the belief in it. If that could be answered, the illusion would be real. A QUESTION THAT CANNOT BE ANSWERED
How not to be deceived by the brain’s experiences of something and instead drift in the bliss of nothing cannot be answered. The question is founded on the belief that you are someone definitive, and the bliss of nothing comes from not believing that.

Neither can it be known if it is the empty breath or being indifferent to the belief in being someone that comes first concerning the sheer bliss of nothing. The only reason somebody wants to know this – or anything else – is that they believe to be defined by what they know and want to remain like that rather than nobody in a state of not-knowing.

Thus the above about where to find the transparent bliss of nothing, entailed by the empty breath, is not an attempt to answer the question but to rule it out. The same applies to the below, which further explores the above.

IN THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Even though it only takes the brain a millisecond to register the signals, it imagines receiving from the sensory system this very moment, what you consciously experience right now happened in the past because the brain has used one second more to process those signals into someone substantial experiencing something in a tangible world, that it expects you to perceive as real because if not, you are exposed as nothing.

When not organising thoughts and feelings into specific categories, they do not seem to represent something in a substantial world. Hence there is nothing to block out the empty breath, which does not know of such a world or that you believe to be someone there. All it knows is the nothingness from which this fantasy has been made.

In other words, since your experience of now is a delayed interpretation of nothing that the brain has used one second to compose, what you believe in reading now you read in the past. Actually, you never read it because one second ago, it was not something but nothing. Therefore, when you acknowledge you are never in the present but in the past, where you are nothing, there is not something that seems to separate you from the empty breath.

what you believe to be is the brain

The brain uses five per cent of its capacity to construct a self that, through singled-out memories, feelings and imaginations, makes up an exciting story about itself, stored all over the brain as if it is you. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Just five per cent of the brain is used to shape the conscious experience of ourselves as somebody defined by time and space. However, much more space is needed to establish this experience as real. Hence a big part of the brain is continuously occupied with thoughts about ourselves as if they are caused by a tangible world outside us, thus seeming to confirm we are somebody in it. But if the brain cannot deceive us into seeing something where there is nothing, it falls into a coma after 20 minutes, 45 at the most. And since all the memories to back up what we believe in being are stored in the brain, this belief is terminated.

Therefore, if you want to hold onto the belief in being someone, you cannot stay too long as nobody in a state of not-knowing. However, it is not a problem because most leave this state as soon as they enter it. Their urge to be someone definitive is so deep-rooted that it is easy for the brain to break through a state of not-knowing with images of you as someone becoming and having more. Being such a fantastic person seems much better than being nobody in the bliss of nothing.

In the bliss of the empty breath you are indifferent to being and having more

The urge to be and have more is the cause of all suffering because more want more, so you will never be or have enough. Fortunately, this is not a problem when connected with the empty breath because it is indifferent to differences. Hence you always have enough. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

However, it is hard work to live up to the expectations of being unique, and it seldom results in the recognition imagined. Thus, suddenly you prefer to have your frustration ignite a take-off into the empty breath (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ) and instead float in the bliss of nothing that arises from the indifference to the desire of being and having something special.

The flow of the empty breath goes in all directions – up and down, back and forth, from right to left, or anywhere in between – within an irregular circle with no fixed centre or size (see the illustrations in What does the empty breath feel like?). Once you have been with the empty breath, it automatically syncs the inward and outward-facing senses. Thus the sense of tranquillity in the inward-facing ones helps you get through the sense of turbulence in the outward-facing ones (see The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses).

That does not mean it will seem easier to get a new spouse, more money and whatnot in the world of the outward-facing senses, but it becomes apparent that it makes no difference what you seem to be and have when perceived from the inward-facing senses.

The brain automatically fills in the missing pieces in this image to make you see two triangles. Hence you may not see the grey triangle is an illusion and the one partly framed by a black stroke is disconnected. But if you cover the three incomplete black circles, the grey triangle disappears, and the other one appears fragmented.

However, the brain does not only decide what we see but everything we experience. We are fabricated and controlled by the brain into believing we are somebody substantial in a tangible world, and not the formlessness of oneness.

Consequently, there is nothing to heal but the sick belief that it is possible to be someone definitive. It automatically happens when connecting with the empty breath, because it takes us back one second in linear time to the nothingness from where the brain has rendered our present experience of being someone.

This does not mean that the empty breath is the formlessness of oneness because it takes more than one to be something. However, metaphorically speaking, it is the door to oneness.

now is an illusion fabricated by the brain

When the brain, now and then, screens out what you see so you do not get seasick from the movement of your eyes, it fills the gaps based on memories. But as they have been heavily edited, what you believe to see may clash with what others think they see. The discrepancy makes you feel something is wrong with you or the world. IN THE WORLD OF SOMETHING
In the first episodes of a new TV show, there are normally hints pointing to the forthcoming episodes, and since the brain thrives from envisaging what is going to happen next, it is captured into anticipating the future of the characters and thus enchanted by its own predictions into a state of amusement.

The writers of Game of Thrones try to hook you up and fence of the bliss of the empty breath

The writers of ´Game of Thrones´ want us to bond emotionally with the characters, so that we feel attracted to them as if they are real and not just a fantasy. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

But if the writers of the show do not comply with their own hints when inventing the next episodes, the future of the characters does not turn out as predicted by the brain. Thus the fate of the characters becomes a mystery, that the brain hopes to unravel in the following episodes, wherefore it compels you to stick with the show until the very end. In other words, it is not you but the brain that is in charge.

However, since these visual impressions are a remix of memories, adjusted every time you recall them to boost the story of you as someone, what you see does not match what others see. Therefore, you conclude something is wrong in your story or others. Consequently, you start to correct what is judged as incorrect.

The more you appear successful in this, the more it seems that the story can be shaped to create a better version of you. Yet, no matter how the story is corrected, it remains a fantasy, and so does the idea that you are the author – just like you are not the author of a dream, nor are you in it, or the dream in you. It is a deception made to look as if nothing is something.

Fortunately, the brain cannot make the empty breath look like something, so when we are connected with it, we are in the bliss of nothing, thus not deceived to perceive the experiences produced by the brain as something.

In the bliss of the empty breath the belief in duality is undone

In a state of not-knowing, the brain cannot establish you as someone definitive. But this does not mean that your awareness as someone definitive is replaced by something better, higher or purer but by no consciousness. Thus, nobody knows the bliss of not believing to be someone. WHEN DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES ARE NOT PERCEIVED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In a state of not-knowing, the brain continues to process experiences it claims are based on something received from the sensory system.  But it is empty space, the brain twists into something to fool you into believing you are someone substantial in a tangible world. However, since the empty breath is indifferent to the experiences, they are not perceived as something.

Therefore, since there is no awareness of being someone definitive, there is nobody to be happy, sad or anything else. That does not mean that there are no thoughts and feelings but that nobody relates them to them as if they are something.

The brain deceives you to fence off the bliss of the empty breath

The problems you perceive to have, do not come from the world where you appear to be but from the belief that you are there. Hence the solution to all problems is the same, namely to undo that belief. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

When the body, where you appear to reside, again and again, drops something, you may be defined as clumsy. If you believe this and feel guilty about it, you might want to change it.

But since every effort to improve yourself is based on the belief that there is something wrong with you, your efforts are not changing this belief but enhancing it. You secretly accept this because even though you do not like to be defined as clumsy, it is preferable to not being defined because that means you are nobody.

Yet being nobody, there is not somebody to be clumsy or something else. Instead, there is the bliss of nothing.

In short, the connectedness with the empty breath is simply a way not to perceive the experiences fabricated by the brain as something. Hence they do not appear to establish the belief in separation.

Going with the flow of the empty breath is just as easy as going with the flow of sex. The latter though does not result in the undoing of the belief in being someone definitive, unless the orgasm is used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Following the flow of the empty breath is no different from following the flow of the genitals because no thinking is needed. The result of being horny, though, is the enhancement of the belief in being someone definitive.

This is not to say that sex should be avoided (read more about sex here), because the exclusion of sex or anything else adds to the definition of you as someone definitive. Actually, an orgasm can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, if you do not hold back, but are nothing but orgasmic.

Although the connectedness with the empty breath eventually undoes the belief in separation, it also enhances it because it requires more than one to choose this.

Since nothing appears to make a difference in a state of not-knowing, there is no special place to go or someone special to love. This may feel like being stuck inside an unbreakable armour of pain instead of floating in the bliss of nothing.

However, if not trying to escape the feeling of claustrophobia but being it and nothing else, there is nothing to define you as something. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

Therefore, not to enhance but undo the belief in separation, you do not select the empty breath or anything else. And since you are nothing without choosing something, you are in the flow of the empty breath.

A world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to a movie of oneness played in slow motion

It is only in the world of duality, that there appears to be movements, and that there can be more of it. In reality no movements can appear, because everything move so fast that it is one perpetual present as you can see illustrated in these pics of a fan.


In that which is One, everything moves so fast that there is no separation – like in the first image, where the extreme speed of the ceiling fan cancels out separation. However, when the fan is slowed down, there seems to be more than one. Likewise, a world where there seems to be more than one appears to come into being when that which is One is imagined to slow down. The graphic is grabbed from the web and manipulated by Alexius.

In the movie Lucy, Scarlett Johansson demonstrates that when time is speeded up infinitely, there is nothing to see. This is comparable to that which is One. It is so speedy that there is no separation to define something. That is why it is formless, thus endless, and a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion.

STEPPING INTO THE FULL UNCONTROLLED SPEED OF THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS, THUS A STATE OF NOT KNOWING
When you want time to process an experience, it is not to understand but shape it into a perception that matches your conditioned view of the world, thus avoiding feeling anxious.

Since it calls for more than one to be aware of something, that which is One cannot be realised. Therefore, if you dot not try to understand this article by taking your time to process it, you are on a timeless journey to oneness.

However, anxiety is preferable regarding not hiding that which is One because doubts prevent you from categorising thoughts and feelings. Hence they run as fast as they can back to their origin of nothing – just like a river hurries back to the sea when not manipulated. Thus you are in a state of not knowing until you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or return to the consciousness of being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. ONENESS VERSUS A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
Oneness can be compared to a movie where it is impossible to distinguish anything from each other because it is played so fast that none of its frames can be seen. However, when slowed down, there appears to be more than one frame, wherefore you see a world where there seems to be more than one. See also the previous article.

So if you believe to be someone in the movie of a world where there seems to be more than one, you do not undo this belief by slowness but quickness because you need to speed up the film – or rather, your experience of it. Since that is a construction of thoughts, the faster they move, the more the frames appear to press on, and the less you get the experience of more than one.

The Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk plays extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, which produce overtones so trance-inducing, that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it.

That happens by itself when thoughts are not shaped into interlocking Lego bricks, used to build an appearance of you as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. When thoughts are free, they speed up until it is impossible to hold onto them. Thus you enter a state of not knowing from where you return with the slate wiped clean to the awareness of being someone – or have your consciousness terminated by the Enlightenment of that which is One, so there are no experiences to hide there never was or will be anything than the formlessness of oneness.

If you close your eyes after having been deeply involved in something, physically or mentally, you may see a blurred picture of that, like a frame of a movie speeding up. It looks a bit like having vertigo, but if you keep your eyes closed , it will not disturb your normal perception of the world. Instead, its unrestrained energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath.

The same applies when you worry and do not try to pacify yourself but instead step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions. Then a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. In short, returning to oneness is not about slowing down thoughts, least of all stopping them. In the context of the movie metaphor, you are stuck in a single frame of an empty void, separated from similar ones, if you stop your thoughts. This numbness of stillness is as far as you can get from oneness because it is not deadlocked but free-flowing energy, moving at such a speed that everything is fused into the formlessness of oneness (see the first box).

Therefore, as already said, you undo the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one by speeding up thoughts to the extent that they do not appear to differ. Since that makes it impossible to experience something definable, there do not appear to be any shapes hiding the formlessness of oneness.

THE PURPOSE OF EXPERIENCING SOMETHING IS TO FEEL ENTERTAINED
What you perceive as real, imaginative or spiritual is based on the thoughts the brain has combined like it composes a dream, namely turbulent, chaotic, unpredictable and incompatible with your rational perception of yourself and the world. Therefore, if this chaos seems to support your rationale, it is because you, in retrospect, interpret the irrational arrangements of the brain, so they seem connected per your reasoning.

However, it seems weird to the brain that you run around like headless chickens, trying to put it all together per socialism, for example, instead of being entertained by the experiences it creates for you. The brain does not understand your logic. It only cares about entertainment. Like a magician, it likes pulling rabbits out of hats. For example, doing the laundry, you start as normal. But to entertain you, it breaks conformity by drawing you to the window to see a demonstration on the street. Looking at that, you feel amused and return energised to the laundry. That is all. There is nothing special to understand.

On the other hand, if you had planned to do the laundry linearly and tried to stick to that, going to the window would not seem entertaining but disturbing. Hence you blame the brain for distracting you and look for methods to control it, so you will be free to do things your way.

When you do not wish to be in control, thoughts do not seem bothersome because there is no need to arrange them into something confirming you are in charge.

But just like you do not control the course of a dream, you have no say in how things evolve when you believe to be awake. The brain is always in charge. You cannot avoid it if it has scripted you to go to the window. Read more about the brain’s script in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

That said, you can decide to go slowly or fast to the window. But no matter your choice, the brain has already arranged the subsequent events, like every possibility in a computer game is composed by the writer, wherefore nothing in the plot can be changed.

Astrology is an attempt to disregard the brain and make it look like something else than the brain governs you. The same applies to religious and spiritual doctrines. And the unfortunate belief that physical and non-physical issuess can be mixed. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

Nor is it necessary to change anything because when not manipulating the game, the fear of falling is as entertaining as the thrill of rising. Therefore, since there is no need for something specific to make you happy, the belief in being someone definitive is undone while you feel amused.

But being angry is also a terrific way to undo the belief in being someone definitive. When you do not try to control the anger, its unbounded energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, your experiences of something are perceived as nothing. Hence there is nothing to uphold the experience of being someone definitive.

APPENDIX:
It is only in undoing the belief in more than one that thoughts should not be organised into specific shapes. Appearing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, thoughts must be set up in particular constructions to confirm your appearance. But maybe not how you expect.

5.2 You feel stressed from perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference

Only in a world where there seems to be more than one can you search for the meaning of life. But it is not to be found there or anywhere else because it takes more than one to find something, and life is that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The way letters are put together in various configurations makes it possible for us to attribute a special meaning to each shape. And when they are organised in rows divided by dots and commas, like in this article, they seem to make up a story written by somebody other than ourselves, thus confirming we are somebody in a world where there is more than one. But since the story that seems to prove this is pieced together of shapes attributed a meaning by yourself, the story is made by you. Consequently, it does not prove there is more than yourself.

Let us imagine that the letters making up the shapes we believe in establish a world where there is more than one being the same letters making up oneness. However, there is no separation in oneness, so the letters that oneness consists of cannot be distinguished from each other, thus not organised into shapes that, when added together in specific ways, seem to establish a story of a world where there is more than one.

A WORLD DEFINED BY TIME AND SPACE IS A SLOWED-DOWN VERSION OF THE FORMLESSNESS OF ONENESS
It is not only because there is no space to separate the letters making up oneness that they cannot be differentiated from each other, but also because they move so fast that time stands still (read more about that here). Hence, it is impossible to organise them linearly – or in any other way.

In the context of our story about that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one, you could say the latter is a fantasy of slowing down oneness until there appears to be space between the letters, which therefore have a shape of their own that over time can be combined in different combinations attributed each their meaning. Thus space and time establish separation as real, and the formlessness of oneness as unreal. Here you can read more about the fantasy of a slowed-down version of oneness.

In other words, the slowing down of oneness is an attempt to turn formlessness into thoughts representing specific shapes you can manipulate to your liking in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Hence you do not get back to oneness by slowing down the speed of thoughts via meditation or something else that is pacifying. Nor is the way back revealed by understanding this or anything else, as recognising something calls for more than one, thus enhancing the belief in more than one.

A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TAKES NO TIME
It is not a fact but a make-believe that what you experience in being is real. And it falls apart when you do not attribute meaning to the letters in this article or anything else in your story of being someone because when shapes make no sense, there is nothing to separate them, thus nothing to experience.

Since there is no more than oneness, nobody has ever left it. Thus going back takes no time.

The fastest way to get there is to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One). It promptly and relentlessly erases everything ever experienced. Hence there are no memories from which an image of you as someone definitive can be recalled.

Should you prefer to have the belief in being someone undone over time, you can connect with the empty breath (read more about that here). Once is enough because it does not know of separation. Therefore, even though you may forget the empty breath, it remains by your side, so it gradually can undo your belief in being someone definitive while you have fun appearing as if you are someone.

Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, the empty breath does not erase your memories of being someone. But since the empty breath resides in the nothingness from where the brain makes the experiences of that, it knows what you experience in being is nothing. Thus, with the empty breath by your side, the experiences do not establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world – like within the context of such a world, what you appear to be in the virtual world of a game is not perceived as real (see hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive).

Of course, you could contemplate this yourself. But it quickly turns into a joyless debate of something instead of being the bliss of nothing entailed by the wordlessness of the empty breath.

WHEN NOTHING IS NOT PERCEIVED AS SOMETHING
The change of size and weight from hefty to almost nothing – for example vinyl to CD to MP3 to streaming, and computer to smartphones to wearables – is a reminder that reality is sizeless because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to take up space.

For the same reason, oneness cannot be seen. That is why the purpose of the empty breath is not to reveal oneness but that what you see is emptiness made to look substantial by your perception of nothing as something. In other words, when you do not perceive what you see as something, there is nothing to hide the formlessness of oneness – like when not perceiving a dream as something, it does not seem to hide you are in your bed. The empty breath accomplishes this while you simultaneously enjoy experiencing nothing as something.

APPENDIX:
Some claim the amount of info coming from digital media makes them stressed. But that is probably because they sort the news per a particular philosophy. Therefore, it is not the amount of information but organising it to support a specific opinion that makes them stressed.

Fortunately, the more stressed you get, the faster it disappears if you do not slow down its pace but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Read more about that here.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, it cannot be experienced in a specific way. But it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thing. Its top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes that idea, wherefore it is a no-body experience. However, that does not mean you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay doing it.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border, nor is anything else fixed. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might feel like it has a centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

That is not a problem for the empty breath because, contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

I am not a talented illustrator, so instead of making an illustration of the inner breath, I have manipulated an image found on the internet in order to give you an idea of the simultaneously movements inside it.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it. They are countless, and all of them have two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside them. You cannot see the waves inside the circles in the simplified illustration to the right. But in the second image from here, there is a sample of two waves inside one of the circles.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean its edge is blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may get bigger and smaller here and there, so it momentarily feels more pear-shaped than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each circle inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating. Hence there are many non-fixed centres.

The innumerable amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundary of the empty breath is located vertically and horizontally, plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang-shaped waves inside them. There is an illustration of the yin-yang-shaped waves inside one of the circles in the below paragraph SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH. But the circles are actually fused into one yin-yang-shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most do not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of an endless amount of circles in various movements, everything is fused into one single move. But since this is hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, you may find it easier to experience one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe the flow is in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there, in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is about going with the flow, so follow it wherever it goes.

But the flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. And the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you encounter a second before the brain has finished processing it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Below is a short introduction to some ways of feeling the empty breath, then a more detailed description. Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below) or the indifference of it (see The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound or felt inside the body (see below). It can also be sensed as if nobody is surfing two yin-yang-like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experiencing the empty breath like that but to inspire you to go with the flow.

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang-like-looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing two yin-yang-like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
You see a simplified simulation of the empty breath in the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the drawing reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each circle inside it contains two non-definitive waves you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body. But, as mentioned above, the direction does not matter, and the circle can be smaller and bigger. Besides surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is you follow the flow as it comes to you. By doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways are probably revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in a circle inside the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate it with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. It does not work. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues. However, you can surf the waves in the empty breath to ease pain in the back, for example. See the appendix at the bottom.

Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to do that. Therefore, the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. Nevertheless, this animation may give you an idea. The swing of the empty breath is generated from the blurred curved line between two yin-yang-like waves in one of the circles inside the empty breath. In this case, you do not surf the waves but follow the swing of the curved line, which is less curved but energetically expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. Depending on where the circle is experienced, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to go upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. But even though going with the swing of it is magnificent, it is often a laid-back experience of expansion and contraction.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
You surf the empty breath on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas you feel the swing of the empty breath from the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves in any of the circles (see the illustration to the left). It extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Perhaps due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. This may seem slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. And the break in between expansion and contraction may feel too long. Nevertheless, the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that it feels like the body does not have enough room for it at first.

The curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one vertical circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration to the left). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. For example, breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath at the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out at the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in charge. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, their fusion initially feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if surfing yin-yang-like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits, undefined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to the operator of the empty breath – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, the operator of the empty breath is sensed inside and outside the body – or rather like there is no inside and outside. If you do not try to catch the abstractness of this, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy. Sometimes this is easier to recognise outside if you start the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. You will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. And from there, you may start surfing the empty breath, feel the swing of it or hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph).

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands and ‘ham’ when it contracts.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose, but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, since the sound does not seem to have a definable location, it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body that has nothing to do with the body.

In other words, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience because it cancels out the notion of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. For example, a sofa does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it when deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Consequently, since there is no inside and outside, there is nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it is seen as unreal.

But like the set-up in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being there is pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience them as visions of light, and the auditory-minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional-minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness.

The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius makes no difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

It is not possible to illustrate the empty breath in its totality. But this yin-yang animation (please ignore the holes in the waves and imagine it is completely full of yin-yang-like waves) may give you an idea about the simultaneous movement of the waves inside it.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. The empty breath has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive because only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may not remember it as Alexius.

If you are still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself, as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you are better off reading about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely sense the empty breath. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, the connection is broken.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. Besides, you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

That is not to say that techniques cannot help you with toning down the experience of being someone definitive so that your apparent existence in a tangible world is exposed as make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like the remote control, have nothing to do with the music it triggers.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

APPENDIX: SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS 
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about a strange pain in the back, you have it massaged by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you but not the wave in front of you in a vertical circle. Should you want to be grounded, you surf the waves in a horizontal circle, passing through the abdomen or even lower.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive. In that case, you surf all the way around the wave to the right inside a horizontal circle going around the head. If you want to be more calculated, you surf the left wave instead.

In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around a wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves in a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts into a position that benefits the whole. In such cases, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

Should you have tight hips, a blocked abdomen or spasms in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The circle size, thus the waves, adjusts to the need for relaxing these areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that someone is in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust that it gives you what is in your best interest.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

Notes on perceptions

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

When you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the brain’s script. But if you start to analyse your response and conclude, ‘I know what it is,’ you are not in sync. However, you cannot know anything because you do not know what you are and never will because you are a fantasy of the brain. Read about the brain’s script in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

There is no meaning in your experiences, nor are they yours. It is an illusion created by the brain, which generates all experiences, so the self it has fabricated believes it sees, hears, feels and tastes something outside of itself. It is easy to deceive the self into believing this because if not, there is nothing to confirm its existence.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences you believe in having will continue as scripted by the brain, regardless of how you perceive them. But since the brain loves you and thus injects you with shots of happiness, it is in your own best interest if your perception is in sync with the brain because otherwise, you do not notice the shots.

If you want a break from the brain, you perceive the experiences it produces as ‘dunno what it is.’ Hence you enter into a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. However, this does not mean the brain’s script changes but that you are indifferent to it because there is no need to be confirmed as somebody.

The more you perceive your responses to your experiences as ‘it is what it is,’ the more carefree you feel. Perhaps so much that your perception automatically changes to ‘dunno what it is,‘ which may bring about glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. You do not have to use the same phrases for the perceptions mentioned in HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end to participate in the game of duality, deny it, take a break, or totally forget it. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ As long as the essence is alike, the perception works the same. That said, the perception ‘I know what it is’ only works in the sense that it makes you feel special. You are still what and where the brain wants you to be, which you do not try to change when you go with the perception, ‘it is what it is.’

You leave the brain’s script by choosing the perception’ dunno what it is,’ you leave the brain’s script. Not in a sense that you are not what and where the brain has planned, but you do not perceive your experience of it as something because you are in the bliss of nothing.

To uphold the perception ‘I know what it is,‘ you got to suppress your actual response to an experience. Still, it never works as intended because you are not all-seeing and knowing. The two other perceptions do not involve denial. On the contrary, your response to something cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is,‘ or ‘dunno what it is,’ if you deny your reaction. Yet, they do not work if you intend to get something over and done.

However, this can be solved by perceiving the response to your plan as ‘it is what it is.’ It flushes out any idea of achieving something specific. On the other hand, if your response is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ there is not something to accomplish because you are in the bliss of nothing.

Do not hide your reaction to something by making a story in which you are unimpressed or detached. Instead, feel your response, so you can decide what it means and perceive that as ‘it is what is.’ This expands the interpretation of your reaction, so it is not limited to you being angry, for example, but complemented with being calm. Since twofoldness makes you feel fulfilled, you have no urge to uphold a single-minded image of yourself. Thus, sooner or later, you forget what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One has been waiting for. When your reaction to something is sadness, and it is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you also get happiness. First of all, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. But also, if something has not made you happy at some point, it cannot make you sad. For example, when your cat dies, your sadness is related to the happiness you felt when it was alive.

Should you, instead, make the perception ‘I know what it is,’ when your cat dies and what you believe to know is this is sad, you must exclude gladness to prove you are exclusively sad. But without gladness, sadness cannot be defined. Therefore, since what you believe in knowing to feel is a thought-up concept of sadness, it is fake.

Just like the twofoldness of breathing in and out makes you feel alive, you feel fulfilled when psychological duality pairs, such as love and hate, dynamically interact. However, since this interaction takes away the sense of control, most choose to separate hate from love by projecting romanticised love onto one person and iron-fisted hate onto another. Insisting on this division, they miss the joy of togetherness because it does not come from a singular but dualistic feeling.

But they get that joy when the meaning they have assigned to hatred is perceived as ‘it is what it is.‘ For example, if they have classified hate as a weakness, this perception reveals it is paired with strength. And this polarity, like any other, brings about the joy of togetherness. Thus there is no need to project a pleasant image of love or an unpleasant one of hate onto others. Consequently, others are free from the conceptual way you used to look at them.

A feeling can only be known when explained. And since that makes it mental, you are benumbed when your perception is ‘I know what it is.To make up for that, you indulge in stories of a better future.

To perceive anything as ‘I know what it is‘ is as crazy as thinking you know where you are in a dream. You are nowhere but in your bed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In a computer game, everything is predetermined. No matter what you choose to do, the subsequent events are prearranged, likewise in a world of duality. You can choose between different stories going on inside your head. But regardless of which one you settle for, it carries on as scripted by the brain. You cannot change that. However, you are free to perceive your reaction to it as you see fit.

If your perception is that ‘it is what it is,‘ it is experienced as two-fold. And since you are in a world of duality, you feel unified with it. But if you perceive your reaction as I know what it is,’ it is seen as singular, thus separated from duality. Hence you do not feel together but alone. Unfortunately, most think the solution to this is to get rid of duality.

Yet, it is the other way around. Playing the game of duality, you confirm non-duality because it is formless, thus endless, so there is no other reason for the experience of duality. Thus you feel connected.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always makes an explanation that seems to confirm the perception ‘I know what it is.’ This enhances its conditioned view of the world and the fear of being wrong. But if you do not try to explain anything, you never need to correct or deny something to maintain you are right. Since ‘It is what it is,‘ you have nothing to worry about.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If memories from your childhood are the basis for your perception of a movie you watch as a grown-up, you are out of sync with its plot. Therefore, it seems to make you frustrated rather than entertained. Fortunately, this is corrected right away if you perceive the plot, or your judgment of it, as ‘It is what it is.

This perception makes the plot amusing no matter how it evolves because you are in sync with it as it is and not as you think it is. Likewise, when the brain’s script is perceived as ‘It is what it is.

When you do not identify yourself as definitive but relative to the present moment, there is no need to make specific opinions to confirm you are someone definitive. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you do not feel complete, you have been messing with the duality pairs by perceiving their opposing parts as items independent of each other. Since that is your choice, you can undo it to feel complete. Read more about choosing in hack #2.2 Choosing or not. Having done that a few times, you establish every moment is the perfect moment regardless of what and where you appear to be. In other words, if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you do not wait for a better moment. This one is perfect as it is.

As that means you never wait for something better, the continuation of duality eventually comes to an end. Hence it does not appear to be hiding, there never was or will be anything but non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular and therefore cut off from their complementary part, you appear to judge yourself and others as incomplete. Consequently, you get the urge to improve something to feel complete.

Yet nobody but yourself has made single-minded comments about what is right and wrong that seem to establish what one can do. Fortunately, these rules do not need to be identified to set yourself and others free from your confinement. Instead, you perceive your present comment about somebody as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. Perhaps you do not catch the elements of this duality pair because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh, while new duality pairs, like waves in the ocean, hastily but without haste, wash away your narrow-minded opinions.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you feel something is missing in music compressed into an MP3 file, you can get the same music in a non-compressed version. If you still feel something missing, you can get better speakers, wires and whatnot. And if that is not enough to satisfy you, live music might be the way.

But no matter how the music is presented, you never feel satisfied if you assume a specific music experience will make you feel complete. Everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, so you cannot feel complete unless your reaction to something is twofold. Therefore, when your response to the music is twofold, you feel fulfilled, regardless it is compressed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Everything unfolds as scheduled, regardless of your negative or positive thoughts. You have no say in this. However, you can perceive your response to the adventure of duality, so you are in sync with it, thus feeling whole. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Seeing the sun going up and down is a hallucination. »The sun stays positioned at the centre of our solar system. So it does not rise and set. But it appears to rise and set because the Earth rotates on its axis,« says science.

This rotation happens at 1.000 miles an hour. Whether you believe in being positive or negative, seeing the sun rise and set or whatnot, you rotate with the Earth at the same speed, besides hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. In other words, you proceed in alignment with the playbook of the universe.

The brain is in charge of that. You cannot change its script. But you believe in knowing better, thus perceiving the brain’s duality scheme per your singularity philosophy. However, since everything is twofold in a world of duality, your perception is out of sync with the brain’s plot, wherefore you feel incomplete. On the other hand, if you do not try to manage the brain’s playbook of duality, the constant interaction of opposites makes you feel complete.

Being in sync with the brain’s script is not a matter of responding positively to its plot but not hiding your reaction because your response is revealed as twofold when exposed. For example, if you feel upset because the scheme does not unfold per your ideas of fairness, you do not disassociate yourself from feeling troubled. Instead, you perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Therefore, since its counterpart is revealed, you feel troubled but untroubled for a moment. Hereafter, you feel complete because you are in the duality flow, thus in sync with the brain’s script of duality.

But since the duality flow is the constant interaction of opposites, you do not get it by meditating but by being physically active in an uncontrolled fashion, for example Nordic Walking. It makes it hard to initiate something yourself, so it is great for going with the duality flow. That said, the duality flow is not physical, so you feel it in the psychological sphere, not the body.

Over time the duality flow goes to non-duality. That is the end of all experiences, as it takes more than one to be aware of being someone. Consequently, you are not there and never were anywhere because that requires more than one. Still, you are everywhere because non-duality is formless, thus endless.

While appearing to be someone in a world of duality, you can take a break from it to have a preview of non-duality – for example, via a state of not-knowing (hack #5.2) or glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One (hack #6.2). During such a break, you are in the bliss of nothing, which feels like walking on clouds, even though you may be walking along a busy street. But since it calls for more than one to feel something, the preview is like a movie trailer which is not the movie. In other words, the preview of non-duality is a simulation.

However, the experience of duality falls apart after 20 minutes, 45 at most, if you do not constantly confirm it. Read more about that here. Therefore, since all experiences are twofold, the experience of being someone is over. Hence you can only take small breaks from duality if you want to return to the fantasy of being someone. In that case, you better stay with the duality flow, experiencing being someone enjoying the constant interaction of opposites while gently having the belief in duality phased out.

You can also have fun with twofoldness while having the belief in duality undone by applying hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation and/or hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness. Those hacks, like the duality flow, are based on the acknowledgement of duality, so, contrary to taking a break from it, they do not surpass duality unless applied with so much devotion that you are blown out, thus not somebody anymore.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Every moment is the perfect moment in non-duality because it is one perpetual present. In a world of duality, that is simulated by a state of not-knowing where experiences are not perceived to make a difference.

Notes on feelings

But since the brain creates the experience of the physical sensation, the conclusion does not prove you exist in a tangible world outside the brain – just like regardless of where you experience being in a dream, you are not there but in your bed. »If you’re sitting in a safe and comfortable position, close your eyes and try to feel your heart beating in your chest. Can you, without moving your hands to take your pulse, feel each movement and count its rhythm? Or do you struggle to detect anything at all? This simple test is just one way to assess your ‘interoception’ – your brain’s perception of your body’s state, transmitted from receptors on all your internal organs … There’s a constant communication dialogue between the brain and the viscera (internal organs).«

The above is a test to see if the connection between the brain and the body works. The quote is from an article in the Guardian, Interoception: the hidden sense that shapes wellbeing. Like in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, the article concludes that many people have cut off the link between the body and the brain. And since the latter controls the body, it is left without guidance.

According to Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, this connection must be re-established so the body parts do not act independently of the brain but work as a group governed by it. However, the article in the Guardian has another conclusion. It says you need to master the body, and in doing so, you are in touch with its signals and, thus, your feelings because they are in the body.

But believing you are the master is the root of the problem because you do not know who you are. You are nothing but a product fabricated and conducted by the brain, also what you feel. Besides, imagining combining psychological feelings with the physical feelings of the body is hell because psychological feelings seem heavy when perceived as substantial instead of airy.

In other words, you are not a master but a puppet mastered by the brain. Therefore, to feel good as someone in the game of the brain, you must step aside and let it do its thing. That does not mean you do not engage in its game of duality, but like when you play a computer game, you follow its rules. When you do that and perceive your reaction as ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the brain’s game of duality because this perception reveals your response is twofold. Therefore, the body’s signals are not seen as singular but dual, thus recognised by the brain.

However, if you do not want to play the game of duality, you are free to leave it. But you cannot do that unless you play it. And since participating involves feeling it dualistically, we go on in the below looking at the twofoldness of feelings.

As usual, we do not begin somewhere specific, nor do we end with a conclusion. Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings have nothing to establish because they know they are as illusionary as anything else in a world of duality. Still, reading the below ragbag of clips may help you see that this includes what you believe in being.

For sure, you fall off the planet if you interfere with gravity. And for sure, you mess up the body when you disrupt its ongoing communication with the brain. If something seems to have gone wrong, you may panic and think about how to make it better. But, like you must follow the Earth on its predestined ride around the sun, you are bound to follow the brain’s script for what and where you appear to be. Hence there is nothing you can change. See hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happyTherefore, instead of judging yourself for having failed and thus feeling inferior, go with the duality flow. When you do that, you feel complete because failure interacts with success.

It is a waste of time looking for your psychological emotion in the body because it is solely physical, thus without anything psychological. You could also say the body is visible, whereas psychological emotions are invisible, and visibility and invisibility do not blend.

So if you have projected emotional issues onto the body with the assumption that you can hide them there, you better start correcting this fantasy by recognising them where they were conceived, namely in the non-physical psychological sphere. Facing them there, they gently open up and reveal they are not singular but twofold. Thus there is no specific psychological issue to bother you. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since connecting psychological issues with physical ones is a fantasy, you undo it by reversing it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

This article is not about Enlightenment or the reality of oneness but twofoldness because you have opted for duality instead of non-duality. To undo that decision entirely, you must live fully by duality. Fortunately, it is easy when you do not suppress aggression, for example, but go with the interaction of that and peace as you go with breathing in and out.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot breathe out before you breathe in, and vice versa. In other words, you cannot have one without the other. That is how duality works. Everything comes in pairs. Acknowledging that, you feel complete. On the other hand, you feel incomplete when you divide the duality pairs into separate elements.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not breathe in and out to find a balance between expansion and contraction. Likewise, you do you need to find a balance between body and brain. What you need is to let the brain do its thing so you, in a laid-back fashion, can enjoy being someone in its game of duality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you want to undo the belief in duality, denying feelings by focusing on their energies is not helpful because the belief is based on feeling it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Psychological feelings do not last because the pschyche is airy. So if they seem to last you projected them onto the body to make them appear substantial, thus lasting.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The main reason most suppress negative feelings is that they fear negative emotions are dangerous to express. For example, when Alexius was a kid, his father beat him if he said or did something judged offensive. Thus Alexius was afraid to voice his negative emotions accidentally.

But just like the negative pole in electricity is as important as the positive one. You need negative feelings as much as positive ones. If you avoid the negative ones, you deteriorate, whereas you blossom if you approve of them. Read more about that in Alexius’ Childhood.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot experience something as positive without judging something else as negative. Thus the negative thoughts are a confirmation of positivity and vice versa. That is the way of duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world of duality needs contrasts to be experienced. Therefore, since everything comes in pairs of opposing elements, there is no non-duality in such a world. Yet, many try to replicate it by being solely positive. But this singleness is not a confirmation of non-duality but separation, thus duality, because it is based on excluding negativity.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You will be mistaken about yourself if you do not side with both up and down. Feeling down without relating it to going up, you feel sad. Mainly going up and using it to deny feeling down, you feel insecure. But if you go with the interaction of up and down, you are not definitive but relative. Thus you are neither happy nor sad but happy/sad. However, only for a moment because another soon replaces this polarity, so you keep feeling vitalised by the duality flow.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

To feel something definitive is to separate. Consequently, you stop separating by not insisting on feeling something specific. That is done by perceiving the meaning you assigned to your response to an experience as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals what you decided it meant is not set in stone because its counterpart complements it. Therefore, if you thought you were sad, you see now you are also happy.

Feeling wrong is your decision because your emotions are shaped by how you perceive your reaction to something. But if you decide not to perceive your reaction as specific, the brain automatically takes over and perceives it as ‘it is what it is.’ And since the brain operates in pairs, your reaction is twofold. Therefore, as sadness is paired with happiness, you are in the interplay of happiness and sadness. This polarity, like any other, makes you feel complete.

Whatever you plan, visualise or realise, everything plays out as programmed by the brain. You have no say in that. But you choose how to perceive it. So if you feel faulty, you have chosen to perceive the brain’s play as wrong.

When you hand your interpretation of something over to the brain, it will shape it, so you feel entertained because that is the purpose of everything it sets in motion.

It´s very easy to choose not to store thoughts, so you are empty, if you don´t have a need to uphold a certain image of yourself.

If you are full of thoughts, you are busy assigning meaning to your experiences. However, none of your experiences means anything. Their only purpose is to entertain you. And being that, there is no need to look for thoughts to explain something. Hence you do not feel stressed. On the contrary, you feel amused. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you believe you suffer because of something, you are mistaken. Suffering comes from the way you have decided to interpret something. Therefore, if you suffer, you have chosen to assign specific experiences with a meaning that seems hurtful.

It is not solved by changing your interpretation but by not insisting it is definitive. You achieve this by perceiving your conditioned explanation as ‘it is what it is.’ It reveals it is not on its own. Instead, it is coupled with its counterpart. And since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, you feel at home when you realise your interpretation is twofold.

Nobody but yourself has the power to make you suffer. So if you feel desperate, something in you bothers you because it disturbs the image you have made of yourself. In other words, if you do not want to suffer, do not try to be somebody specific.

Since what and where you experience being in a dream is not there, the effect it seems to have on you is made up. The same applies to the impact of the physical world. For example, anger only appears to be caused by the world because you make a story in which it upsets you, which is just as absurd as a dream disturbing you.

The above does not mean that physical life is a dream because, within the context of physical life, someone has a dream, but nobody has a physical life. Oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing physical nor anybody making a story about it because it takes more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

There is nothing to learn from your experiences, whether they seem dreamy, mundane or spiritual. Their only purpose is to make you feel entertained, which they do when perceived as twofold.

Should noisy music from the neighbour seems to make you upset, it is not because of the music but the feelings going on in you at that moment. If your response to those feelings is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it turns out to be twofold. Hence you feel disturbed but also stimulated. This interchange of opposites is the duality flow.

Negativity is just as needed as positivity. A computer, for example, only functions when connected to the negative and positive poles in an electrical wire. Polarity is the name of the game, which you must adhere to if you want to be in a world of duality. Also, if you wish to leave this game. You cannot do that if you are not playing it. What you feel comes not from your present experience. Instead, it is shaped by a feeling you already have, often a suppressed one but for sure an old one. In other words, you are already unhappy if something seems to make you sad. Based on what you already feel, you interpret the experience of something, so it seems to have caused your sadness.

Fortunately, you do not have to change this pattern to solve your confusion. Nor do you need to understand where your suffering comes from and why you hold onto it. All you need is to acknowledge you are mistaken. There is no sadness in a world of duality because everything is twofold in such a world. Therefore, if you do not insist on feeling specifically sad, its counterpart pops up. Hence you feel happy/sad.

A way to undo having distinctive feelings is to perceive them as ‘it is what it is.’ As already said, that reveals it is not singular but twofold. Thus you are in the duality flow, where you remain as long as you acknowledge all your previous opinions were wrong, thus making you sad.

To feel is not to exist because it takes more than one to feel something, and life is that which is One. In other words, it is not possible to feel something unless you imagine being in a world where there seems to be more than one. Can you feel it? Of course, you can. You are reading this. That means you think it is possible to be and have more than that which is One, and you uphold this illusion as ‘real’ by feeling it.

You undo this mistake by acknowledging what you feel. Next, you perceive your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is,’ which reveals your response is not singular but twofold. Then, you do not focus on the two elements making up your reaction but go with their interaction, which is the duality flow. Remaining in that, you feel so complete that the experience of more than one is eventually dismissed as real.

Alexius’ childhood [draft]

During childhood, we learn to alter our emotions, thus being the nice kid who never say or do anything that makes our parents unconfortable. Read more about pleasing your parents here. But everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, so you you feel disconnected if you suppress hate, for example, to look lovable. On the other hand, you feel connected if not not perceiving the telements of a duality pair as distinctive feelings of love and hate, for example, but go with their interaction. This article is a continuation of ‘What if…?’ versus ‘it is what it is’ about the perception ‘it is what it is,’ which reveals that every experience is dual. It is is so entertaining that, eventuality, you forget about duality.

Our present perception of ourselves and others is often based on one we made in the past. In Alexius’s case, he interpreted many experiences in his childhood as scary. He blamed something outside himself, judged as horrible, for having caused the horror, thus disassociating himself from it. Therefore, since he could hide behind an image of innocence, he felt on top of it. Especially because he also got rid of his affectionate feelings in the same manner. In this case, though, he projected them onto something he decided to see as wonderful. To make long short, he split his life into horrible and wonderful experiences.

That seemed to work great, except when Alexius felt so bothered by something that his suppressed fear flared out in verbal attacks on others. Although there was no physical violence, his outbursts seemed as wild as when his father hit him across the dinner table or wherever he lost his temper. Alexius felt ashamed to see himself as hostile as his father. But he hid his hostility from his awareness by projecting it onto his stomach. And then, he unconsciously tightened the shoulders to hinder the breath from fully extracting, thus blocking the free flow of info from the body to the brain. Therefore, he could justify his grievances by interpreting the body’s signals as the world attacked him.

Another reason for distancing himself from his aggression was that if Alexius had stood by it, he might have hit his father. And that was all his father needed to burst out in a rage so violent that it could have been the end of Alexius. Hence the only defence Alexius had was silence. On top of that, Alexius tried to look hurt and sick to make his father feel guilty for how he treated him (read more about making others feel guilty here). However, this did not seem to work on his father – only on Alexius because he unconsciously knew they were the same. They both used each other as a scapegoat for their inner demon. If his father was aware of that, Alexius cannot know.

In 1972 Alexius returned from the Enlightenment of that which is One as nobody. Hence he could only remain in a world where there seems to be more than one by pretending to be somebody. Actually, that also applies to the years before the Enlightenment because we are nothing pretending to be something. But since he was not aware of that before he bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, this article is based on his memories of believing to be somebody instead of pretending it. But already as a child, he began to grasp that everything is pretence. Read more about pretending in HACK #1, Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation. Nor can he know if his description of his childhood is correct because it is done in retrospect.* Besides, he is neither a physician nor a psychologist. However, it seems he used the physical problems that arose from his congenital disability in the vertebrae to disguise his aggression and the events that appeared to have caused it in his childhood.

Since the malfunctioning vertebra pressed on a nerve going to the stomach, it was easy for Alexius to use his bloated stomach as a hiding place for the shame he felt for being exploited by his mother. She used Alexius when he was petite and adorable as an object to give her the bodily affection her husband could not provide. Due to Alexius’ bloated stomach, the diaphragm hardened. And since it is the primary mover of the breath, his chest turned to stone. Thus it seemed the perfect place to hide his naivety and devotion, so his natural generosity would not cause him to be preyed on in the future.

Alexius grew up in a war zone in the sense that he never knew when his father would suddenly hit him again. His mother did nothing to stop it, so he felt terrified and completely alone. To disassociate himself from the feelings of horror, Alexius decided to see his father as evil and himself as good. But by disassociating evil from himself, he also separated himself from love because it is defined by evil. Thus he always searched for something beautiful outside of himself. But it was difficult to find because he saw evil everywhere. Alexius finally realised that the reason for this was his suppressed darkness Fortunately, not suppressing it revealed there was also lightness because light and darkness are like two sides of the same coin in a world of duality. This polarity, and those that naturally followed, made him feel complete. Hence there was no fear of feeling evil and thus no need to hide it by perceiving the world as horrible. Consequently, the apparent difference between himself and the world he used to judge as either horrific or beautiful stopped making a difference. However, since Alexius did not feel cherished with his compassion locked down, he concluded others would only love him if he gave them what they wanted. But that seemed an unsolvable dilemma, so instead of saying no to others, Alexius walked away, closing down his gift of empathy. Maybe that was for the best because others would have exploited him entirely otherwise.

But let us delve further into Alexius’ relationship with his father, who he perceived as the devil responsible for the evil he experienced in himself. Since Alexius did not want to realise it was his own shit he saw in his father, he hid his inner demon in the neck, weakened by the malfunctioning vertebra. But he also hid it because he thought he had to be above reproach to be loved by his parents. But as his parents only loved the image he made, he felt lonely and complained about not being seen.

He repressed he had chosen to hide behind a false front of being loveable by projecting his flaws onto problematic areas of his body. So when hatred popped up, he interpreted the disturbance as a physical issue in the part of the body where he initially imagined dumping his hate. Therefore, since the resulting psychosomatic disorders became an unsolvable mystery, the helpless little boy, full of sorrow, rage and fear, remained hidden from Alexius‘ awareness. You cannot appear in the world without pretending to be a person there. But the more you add to this pretending, the more you end up believing that you are what you pretend to be instead of that which is real. It happens to all of us. In the case of Alexius, it started when he was about six years old. Undoing it began 15 years later when he stepped aside to bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

When you do not try to hide sexual lust, grievances, envy, anger, negativity or whatever you consider politically incorrect, your thoughts and feelings about something are revealed in pairs. Negative thoughts, for example, come paired with positive ones. You already know this because when one part of you senses something as good, immediately another part sees it as bad. If you do not try to decide between them but join their interplay, you feel as entertained by this polarity as any other. But after he became one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One when he was about 20 years old (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One), his two distinctive experiences of either something horrible or wonderful were revealed coupled as a duality pair. Out of his unpleasantness came pleasantness and vice versa. He did not hold onto the specific feelings in this polarity but enjoyed their interplay. It made him feel complete and not fragmented, like when he insisted on dividing horrible and wonderful into separated elements

The higher you aim, the lower you must prepare to go because, in a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements.

Going with the constant interaction of opposites, which 50 years later was entitled the duality flow, he had no singular feelings to hide. Hence there was no basis for concealing psychological problems in his body. Therefore, since his psychosomatic disorders were reduced to physical issues, they could be fixed physically. Maybe not entirely, but at least to the extent that the experience of being someone inside a body became more comfortable. Read more about that in Sadness is a close friend of gladness.

Nevertheless, out of habit, an old single-minded point of view is often his first choice when he is confronted with something new. But fortunately, he soon remembers that everything comes in pairs of opposing elements that define each other in a world of duality. So then, as from an invisible crack in his conditioned feeling of disgust, a sense of delight unfolds.

He may not notice that the interaction of this polarity soon fades out because it sets off the experience of other duality pairs, for example, humility and boldness, serenity and lust, calmness and confusion, union and separation, etc. It is so gratifying that he does not sense when the interplay of one polarity is over, and another sets off. The beginning and end are another interaction of opposites that makes him feel adequate.

Not trying to control the future, thoughts become unimportant. Hence they turn into insignificant noise in the background. Read more about that here.

But usually, Alexius does not remember the names of opposing elements in the duality pairs he encounters. Going with the interaction of opposites, duality does not have to be labelled (read more about that here) – like one does not need to label the sides of a coin to sense its twofoldness. Thus thoughts are reduced to insignificant jabber in the background.

In a world of duality, a holistic experience is not singular but dualistic. In non-duality there is no wholeness to experience, as it takes more than one to be aware of something.

In other words, even though the experience of duality is imaginary (read more about that here), within its apparent reality, you feel incomplete when you separate the elements in a duality pair into distinct ones. But you feel complete going with their interaction – like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you fulfilled. That is, if you do not try to break up the duality flow by dividing the breath into specific sections via yoga exercises, for example.

You do not have to be someone who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One to feel completed by dualism. All you need is to perceive your specific opinion of something as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals it is twofold – for example happy/sad or angry/calm – wherefore you get the satisfaction of duality. Bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One is a bit like getting to the point of orgasm. Nothing else matters. But whereas an orgasm is driven by the desire for something, the absence of something is the propellant of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

This does not mean, you must become purer by avoiding sex or something else, nor do you have to be harmonious, physically fit or breathe in a special way. All that is needed is to forget what and where you are because the Enlightenment of that which is One does not know of anything definable.

For the same reason, the Enlightenment of that which is One has not changed what you appear to be if you return to the fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one. In Alexius’ case, his psychosomatic disorders were unaltered.

But since he keeps getting glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, he is always reminded, that he is not in a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus he feels like in a roleplay, where one act out a role in a story governed by the gamemaster, which, in the case of a world where there seems to be more than one is not somebody else but one’s the brain.

Playing the brain’s game, the perception ‘it is what it is’ comes naturally. Therefore, since your interpretation of past events lose their specific meaning, there is not something definitive to maintain psychosomatic disorders – or to make one feel stuck in in the plot that the imaginary combo of physical and non-physical issues.

Where is the psychological zone? [draft]

What you believe in being is solely an image in the psychological sphere. It has nothing to do with the body, which feels attacked if you try to adjust it to the image you have made of yourself in the psychological sphere.

The brain fabricates the psychological sphere, the body and the world of duality. But just like you do not drive a car in the factory where it is made, you do not experience the psychological sphere, the body and the world of duality in the brain. Instead, the body is experienced as something substantial in a world of duality. Where the psychological zone is experienced seems more problematic because most try to integrate it with the body.

But that is not how the brain has set it up. The psychology sphere is immaterial, the opposite of the material body. They interact to define each other, like breathing in and out, but they can never be combined. If you accept this twofoldness, the duality flow goes on uninterrupted, and you feel vigorous.

You feel the waves interact outside your body when you swim in the ocean. However, the body and the waves cannot blend. The water will kill the body if it gets inside it. Likewise, the body can enjoy what is going on in the psychological sphere, but it will fight airiness if you try to integrate it with the solidness of the body.

In Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, the psychological sphere or zone is also called the mental sphere or zone. It is airy, thus anywhere but in something substantial. So bringing back into awareness the psychological feelings you have projected onto the solidness of your body is not done by facing them in the body but in the non-material mental zone.

In this airy sphere, everywhere around you, a psychological feeling does not seem heavy anymore, like when it is combined with the body. Thus one look at it is enough to make it vanish and reveal its opposite. For example, one look at hate replaces it with love, which, when looked at, replaces hatred. And so they go on constantly interacting to define each other.

That is the way of duality. Everything comes in pairs of opposing opposites so that you can experience a world of duality. Being in sync with this twofoldness, you feel complete in your psychological zone. That is, if you do not eliminate one part of a duality pair by projecting it onto your body or the world or imagining uniting the opposing parts.

The elements of a duality pair can neither be united nor separated because they depend on each other to be defined, like two sides of a coin define each other. Therefore, messing with the interaction of the opposing elements in a duality pair, you break up duality, thus feeling broken.

In other words, you cannot hold onto specific thoughts and feelings if you want to feel complete in a world of duality. Instead, you view them with their opposing elements in constant interaction to define each other. This movement, called the duality flow, makes you feel complete, thus having no need to hide non-physical issues in the body, wherefore it is free to deal with itself materially.

Defocusing is beneficial in not focusing on the body but sensing the airy feelings in the psychological zone. It is also beneficial to remember that although a physical problem can be severe, it is most likely far from as problematic as it appears when combined with psychological feelings. Thus there is no need to worry that much.

The obsession with the look and performance you expect from the body causes much trouble. If you want to be free from that, the belief that you are someone in a body must be undone. However, you can only undo this belief if you approach the body as it is and not as you want it to be. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

To get into the duality flow, you do not use the perception ‘it is what it is’ on a house you see because it is not in the mental zone. Instead, you perceive your reaction to the house as ‘it is what it is.’ Since your response is in the mental zone where it is revealed as twofold, you are in the duality flow.

But maybe you do not feel your reaction in the mental zone but in your stomach, where it has triggered older repressed feelings. Since that is not in the mental zone, you do not perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Instead, you perceive your response to your upset stomach as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus having your reaction revealed as twofold.

In other words, it is not about finding what specifically has caused your repressed feelings in the stomach, nor what triggers them or the pattern you compulsively follow. Since the root of the problem is that you are not living by duality, it is corrected by having a twofold reaction.

To do that, you must be aware of your singular response to your upset stomach so it can be perceived it as ‘it is what it is.’ Should you not notice any reaction, there are several explanations. One is that you have already perceived it as ‘I know what it is,’ thus establishing it as a fact and not a feeling. Read more about this mix-up here. Another explanation is that the repressed feelings attributed to the stomach are based on a recollection of psychological emotions faced and forgotten a long time ago. Hence there is not something to relive. Thus nothing psychological to see when you look at the body from the mental zone. Consequently, you have no reaction to perceive as ‘it is what it is.’cx

However, being unable to choose, you may be on your to non-duality because it has nothing to choose from, as that requires more than one. But since it also takes more than one to feel complete, this journey may seem unsettling at first. You might want to blame your upset stomach for that, although it is solely a physical matter in our example that may not go away before you are discarded as someone definitive in the Enlightenment of that which is One. There is more about how to use the perception ‘it is what it is’ in You must play the game of duality to hack it. And below, we continue with the subject of this article, which is to have a good time in a world of duality by staying true to the duality pairs. In other words, the purpose of HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end is, at first, not to end the belief in duality but get the best out of it. But when you eventually feel so good about it that you forget it, non-duality does not seem hidden.

The paradox in trying to heal a psychosomatic disorder is that it reinforces the fear of the physical symptoms, thus the impression that psychological and physical issues are linked and result in a psychosomatic illness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When physical symptoms of illness trigger psychological memories of endangerment and those two are combined, the physical symptoms are perceived to cause a threat. Hence a fusion of physical and psychological reality seems to have been established. However, the physical and mental reality does not mix except in fantasy. So to heal the problem, the psychosomatic disorder must be split into physical and psychological issues.

Therefore, regarding the psychological issue, you partly disregard the pain in the body because although it is experienced as linked with the psychological issue, the connection is imaginative. There can only be physical pain. Hence the non-physical problem is faced in the psychological sphere. One look is enough because psychological feelings are fleeting when not combined with a physical problem and thus turned into something substantial which seems lasting. However, the physical pain in the body remains the same when the psychological issue is solved. But maybe not for long because when the physical symptom is not mixed up with a psychological problem, the body’s biological system is free to deal with the physical symptom as it was made to do.

To sum it up: When you appear sick, and your concern about the physical symptom triggers a past sense of danger that you interpret as caused by the present physical symptom, you develop a psychosomatic disorder. But since the body cannot be fused with non-physical issues, this imagined combo cannot be healed until its components are dealt with on its term.

This differentiation between physical and non-physical matters occurs automatically when you are the basic self. It relates to the stream of thoughts coming from the brain as it is and not as it should per a body-mind based on imaginary consistency and meaning.

If you do not feel complete, you have broken a duality pair, which is impossible because, without them, you cannot experience being someone in a world of duality. In other words, feeling incomplete is like having vertigo. It is not a reflection of the world but your state of mind. If you want to correct that, you only have to remind yourself that everything is twofold. You can do that by perceiving your reaction to your distinct opinions as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals it is not singular but twofold.

When you do not project psychological issues onto the body, they do not seem to be hidden from your awareness. Hence you can perceive your reaction to them as ‘it is what it is,’ revealing it is twofold. Therefore, since nothing specific seems to make you suffer, there is no misery to project onto the body. Instead, it stays in the psychological sphere. But not for long because it is an airy sphere, so everything there is fleeting.

Brain fog comes from projecting a particular psychological issue onto your body because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality, so when one part of a psychological pair is imagined to be somewhere else than in the psychological sphere, you feel blurry.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If pain in the mind is not denied the words that seems to cause the pain cannot hurt, but words projected onto the body – your own or somebody else´s – seems to be able to hurt and confirm the believe, that you are a person to be defined by time and space.

Think of a movie as a metaphor for the physical. You cannot see the mental zone in it. It is something you add. Yet, it does not change anything but your perception of the film.

In other words, in the context of the world where we appear, everything is made of matter. However, contrary to a body in a movie, your body has feelings – but only physical ones. If it seems to have psychological feelings, you have projected them onto the body to make it appear more significant or the emotions more substantial. It could also be that you want to hide psychological issues from your awareness behind something physical, as described above.

But just like nothing changes in a movie, regardless of what you project onto it, nothing is transformed in your body when you project non-bodily issues on it. It only seems so if you envision that mentally.

Please be aware this metaphor is made within the reality of duality. In non-duality, there is nothing tangible or intangible because there is no division, like in a world of duality. However, appearing to be in such a world, you must play the polarity game if you want to end it. That does not mean you have to make an effort or understand it. Like in a board game, you move by the dice. And when the meaning you assign to the result is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold, wherefore you are playing the game of duality. Thus able to leave the game. In the psychological sphere, you soon learn you are loved as you are because you are created by the brain, and it loves the way it has set you up. That makes the body relax. But since it only understands material matters, this is not because of love but because when you know you are wanted, you do not project unwanted thoughts and feelings onto the body or use it to prove you are worthy.

‘I know what it is’ vs ‘it is what it is’ vs ‘dunno what it is’

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

When the brain’s script is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ your dark feelings are not excluded but included. This perception, therefore, is not a way to the dullness of detachment but the vitality of involvement. And it is very close to the nothingness from where the brain scripts its story of duality. Not as close, though, as you get with the perception’ dunno what it is’ because it exposes all experiences are nothing.

That is why you get the bliss of nothing from perceiving your reaction to an experience as ‘dunno what it is,’ whereas you get the sadness of something specific from ‘I know what it is,’ and the happiness of duality from ‘it is what it is.’

Since the self-perception of the special self is built upon the perception ‘I know what it is,’ it rejects what would make it relax, namely the bliss of nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self and the special one are bound to follow the GPS coordinates it gets from the brain without making side trips of their own. They do not have the power to change the journey – only how to perceive it. Their perception of that, though, is very different. The basic self basically perceives everything as ‘it is what it is,’ and the special one as ‘I know what it is.’

That is why it is easy for the basic self to be someone and hard work for the special one. It has to make a special perception of each experience, reflecting that ‘I know what it is.’

When your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ there is no need to make anything disappear. But when the perception is ‘I know what it is,’ everything unknown must be avoided to make you look like you are on top of it.

It feels like something is missing when you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘I know what it is’ because the perception is based on suppressing what does not fit your specific view. But if your response is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you feel complete because your reaction is revealed as twofold. The perception, ‘dunno what it is,’ does neither result in a specific feeling nor twofoldness. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

Only the brain can make you feel good enough because nobody else knows what you are. To get its approval, all you need is to perceive your reaction to the experience it processes of you as ‘it is what it is’. Actually, you do not even have to do that. If you do not interfere in the brain’s workings, it automatically makes this perception.

You feel happy when your reaction to the experiences the brain makes for you is perceived as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals they are twofold: Hence you are in sync with the brain’s script of duality.

But suppose you, in an attempt to be free and independent of the brain, insist, ‘I know what it is.’ Then you are out of sync with the brain because you do not know who you are, so how can you know what anything is? Besides, everything comes in pairs in its world of duality. Therefore, since nothing is specific, you cannot know what goes on.

Since making a specific perception takes a long time, it is often delayed, thus out of sync with the present moment. The frustration this entails only worsens if you try to solve it by using more time to process your experience. In contrast, using the brain’s default perception, ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the present moment. Hence everything feels good.

The stories the special self makes about its greatness are not always consistent. Thus it often feels disorganised and wishes to be like those it perceives as organised. On the other hand, the basic self has no need to be anything other than in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain by perceiving its reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.

What does the expression of Alexius’ cat, Wincent, means? Alexius cannot know, but if he reckons that he does, he gets stressed from trying to make it true. For many years Alexius’ cat, Wincent, has more or less had the same routine. Wincent leaves the house every morning and returns when Alexius is still in bed. First, Wincent says something. Then he lays down next to Alexius and waits for him to get out of bed, and give him food. At least, that is the obvious conclusion because as soon as Alexius takes the first step out of bed, Wincent runs out to the kitchen, where he, with big eyes, sits and waits for Alexius to give him something.

If Alexius believes he knows what is happening, he goes from the perception of the basic self, ‘it is what it is,’ to the perception of the special self, ‘I know what it is.’ Doing that, he most likely stresses out of bed to feed his beloved cat quickly, so he can establish being in the know. But Wincent does not get his food any sooner than if Alexius, as the basic self, had perceived Wincent’s behaviour as ‘it is what it is’ because the brain’s script runs its course, no matter how it is perceived. Therefore, in this sample, the only difference between the basic and special self is that the former feels relaxed when feeding Wincent and the latter very stressed.

In other words, life is effortless when you stick to the perception of the basic self. But having the perception of the special self, life seems stressful because you must always make sure it looks like you are in charge.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your reaction to something in the body is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ there is not something specific to bother or amuse you. Hence you are free to go with the flow of thoughts as it comes from the brain. In other words, you are in the happiness that comes from being synced with the brain.

But when you perceive what you feel in the body as ‘I know what it is,’ you are not in sync with the flow of thoughts because nothing in the brain’s script of duality is definitive. Everything comes in pairs of opposites. So being specific, you are in the misery of believing to know something definitive.

If how you react to something in the body is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ you are not in the misery of being out of sync with the brain’s script because you do not know of a body that feels something. Consequently, you are in the bliss of nothing.

If what you do makes you feel bad, it does not indicate you should do something else because you are not in command. But you can choose how to perceive feeling bad as ‘it is what it is.’ Then the bad feeling is complemented by a good one. Triumph and disaster are not perceived as equally entertaining by the special self. Yet, this is precisely what they are if one of them is perceived as ‘it is what it is’ because it reveals there is no triumph without disaster and vice versa.

The special self constructs a perception of every experience, so it does not seem to endanger its default assumption, ‘I know what it is.’ Hence it can go on believing it is in control. But since that is a lie, it is bound to suffer emotionally and mentally.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not try to be someone definitive in a dream but naturally, go with the flow. If you, in retrospect, do not arrange your memories of a dream, so it seems coherent and meaningful, you are ready to be relative instead of definitive.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self does not assume something will go on in a specific way because every experience is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus getting old and unable to do what it used to is not a loss.

No emotion needs to be escaped when every feeling is perceived as ‘it is what it is .’ Hence you are at peace.

Since the perception, ‘it is what it is,’ arises from not focusing on something specific, the technique for the taste of life will get you there if used gently. Applied more passionately, you get the perception’ dunno what it is.’ See The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

Perceiving a movie as cheap because it uses furniture from Ikea, you are probably out of sync with the plot. Hence it does not seem as entertaining as when your perception is synced with the story. However, this does not mean you must do something about your condemnation of Ikea to get in sync with the movie’s script.

All you need is to perceive your reaction to the furniture from Ikea as ‘it is what it is.’ When you do that, your response is revealed as twofold, wherefore, there is no specific reaction to prevent you from being in sync. Hence both the script and your misperception of it seem enjoyable. Likewise, when you perceive your response to the brain’s manuscript as ‘it is what it is.’

Roughly speaking, the perception of the special self is ‘I know what it is.’ In contrast, the basic self sticks to the brain-generated perception ‘it is what it is.’ The non-self in a state of not-knowing says ‘dunno what it is’ because it does not perceive the apparent differences in the experiences produced by the brain to make a difference.

When the perception of your response to an experience is ‘I know what it is,’ you feel important but also exhausted because it requires much manipulation to make it look like you are in control. That is why the special self always needs more energy, contrary to the basic self, which feels fine whether out of energy because it has nothing to live up to.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the brain’s script contains every possible experience, being in sync with the brain, you are the past, the future and everything else but the formlessness of oneness since it cannot be experienced. Thus all you need to cross the apparent barrier to oneness is not to experience anything.

When you perceive yourself as a victim of others, you are out of sync with the brain’s script because nobody causes anything but the brain, regardless it appears physical or immaterial. And everything it does is out of love for everyone. Fortunately, all that is needed to correct one’s misperception is to change to ‘it is what it is.

Practically speaking, you are always in sync with the brain. You cannot choose not to follow its script of duality. But you can choose to think you know a better way. However, this does not change anything other than you you do not feel connected because the script goes on as programmed by the brain.

In other words, being in sync with the brain’s script of duality is not a matter of waiting for things to happen, according to the manuscript. They always do. It is simply a matter of perceiving your reaction to it as ´it is what it is.´ By doing so, you see your response is not singular but twofold. Thus you are in sync with the script of duality.
