Inclusiveness is a journey without distance to that which is endless, namely non-duality

Those gathering in groups of nationalism, capitalism, socialism or another ism manifests their specific group by excluding everything, not in line with its principles.

First, they divide the world into right and wrong. Second, they eliminate everything judged wrong by projecting it onto other groups. Third, since the other groups, therefore, seem evil, they start to fight them.

When the fight is over, the winning group claims to be the good ones. »By doing the right thing, we have established we are the best,« they say. But they only seem to be better because they have projected the worst in themselves onto the losing groups.

Fortunately, Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not a new doctrine where you have to change or get rid of something to become better. On the contrary, there is no goal but to undo the belief in separation because, without it, there is nobody to change.

A journey without distance to that which is all-inclusive
When Henry Ford invented a faster vehicle than a horse-driving carriage, it was not just an improvement of the old type of transportation. Instead, he surpassed it and developed a new and much faster vehicle.

Likewise, Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not an update of ancient meditation methods, added soothing sounds, shaman sticks and whatnot. The hacks are built from scratch, founded on the haste of modern-day life, so you rapidly enter a state of not knowing and its bliss of nothing. On the other hand, meditation progresses at the pace of a horse-driving carriage, as it is based on the idea that you must exclude something to get better. Therefore, since there is always more to get rid of, you keep separating, thus never reaching wholeness.

Alexius’ Duality Hacks are about undoing the belief in separation by including the opposing parts in the contrasts making up the world of duality, such as the past and the future or good and evil. This does not require restraint, concentration, realisation or perfection.

But Alexius’ Duality Hacks is based on inclusiveness. This does not require sitting in a specific position with eyes closed or being with special people in unique surroundings. Instead, you include whatever you experience wherever you are. You cannot go wrong, not even if you forget being inclusive, because if so, you include your imperfection. Hence you are at full speed on a journey with no distance to that which is all-inclusive, namely non-duality since it is formless, thus endless.

When inclusive, a problem contains the solution
Being Inclusive starts by acknowledging separation – otherwise, there is nothing to include. For example, to experience something as specifically good, you must separate it from its opposite, bad – just like you exclude the white background that contrasts these black letters from your awareness to focus on reading the article.

If you begin to include these letters, they start to blur. Eventually, there is not anything specific to see, wherefore there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

Next, you include what you excluded. In the context of reading this article, you fully bring back the white background into your awareness. This makes it impossible to focus on the black letters, wherefore there is no article to read. In other words, by including the excluded, the two sides of a polarity cancel out each other. Therefore, since there is nothing specific to experience, thus nothing to make the experiencer definitive, the belief in separation falls apart.

By the way, you do not have to be aware of both sides in the polarities to include them. Instead, you include the part you are conscious about. This automatically incorporates its counterpart because everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, like two sides of a coin. See also hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

In other words, when one side of a coin is included, there is nothing to define the other side. Hence the sides do not appear separated but partners putting together a coin experience. Regarding feelings, if you include pain, for example, it is revealed to be in an alliance with its counterpart relief. Hence your problem contains the solution.

Another way to put it, nothing can be experienced without its contrast. Therefore, if you devote yourself so much to a problem that there is nothing but that, there is not something to define it. Consequently, there is no problem causing suffering.

This is not the way to realise non-duality. It cannot be known because it takes more than one to become aware of something. But it is a way to see that there is no more than that which is One. This you realise when you are fully inclusive. But you probably start little by little. No worries. As already said, inclusiveness is a journey without distance.

The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them

There is no life in the world. It is to be compared to a dream, which, no matter how beautiful it may appear, is an illusion.

Although the formlessness of that which is one is the power making it possible to simulate a world where there seems to be more than one, it is not feasible for it to be in the simulation – just like it is not possible for the street simulated in this image to be in the picture, or for a dreamer to be in a dream.

When the formlessness of life is perceived as the sole cause of any experience – whether so-called spiritual or mundane – you never play somebody else’s game. Even if it may seem so, they are not the reason for what you appear to do and say. Neither is the person you seem to be.

There is only one reason for your apparent thoughts, feelings, conversations and actions, namely the formlessness of life. In other words, it is not someone definitive who thinks, feels, says or does something.

As life is formless and thus without beginning and end, everything definable is lifeless. Yet everything without life symbolises it, because there is no more than the formlessness of life.

This does not mean that it is the formlessness of life that thinks, feels, says or does something. But it is the energy that makes it possible to experience as if someone is doing this, although there is no more than the formlessness of life since formlessness has no beginning or end.

Neither does it mean that you have found the formlessness of life in a world defined by time and space, but that everything there is perceived to be a symbol of it. As both the experiencer and the experienced therefore are symbols of that which makes it possible to perceive a world where the formlessness of life seems to be divided into more than one, the apparent differences in such a world do not make a difference.

The echo of that which is one, which often is symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God and which comes from the edge of the universe can be heard or felt right now via the inner senses, because they are not limited by time and space.

HEARING OR FEELING THE ECHO OF LIFE
Appearing in a world defined by time and space as a symbol of the formlessness of life, you do not pump up the volume of music to hear or feel it, but to be reminded that it is the formlessness of life that makes it possible to have the experience of hearing and feeling something.

The echo of oneness does not reveal what that which is one is, but what it is not, namely the nothingness in which you believe to be someone definitive in a tangible world.

This is not to say that the formlessness of life can be heard and/or felt in a world defined by time and space. Therefore, it is not possible to hear or feel formlessness. But it is possible to listen to its echo coming from the edge of the universe. This unpronounceable vibration, which is often symbolised by Aum, Sohang or The Word of God, is heard or felt when you are more attentive to the inward-facing senses than the outward-facing ones.

The Hebrew word Elohim was originally a symbol for one perpetual present.

The word god, which is a translation of the Hebrew word Elohim, was at first meant to be a metaphor for that which is one and never ends. Hence the word god was originally meant to symbolise one perpetual present. As this is not understandable, when you believe to be someone in a world of linear time, the meaning of the word gradually was changed, so that god became a symbol for one almighty force believed to have created the world defined by time and space in its own image.

But what is not definable cannot create something definable. Hence a world defined by time and space is an illusion and so is the perceived creator of such a world.

Since none of the aspects of the Enlightenment of that which is one cannot be experienced, hearing or feeling the unpronounceable vibration coming from the edge of the universe is not the Enlightenment of that which is one but a glimpse of it. Neither is seeing or tasting the Enlightenment of that which is one, since it is an experience and therefore just as illusionary as any other experience (see All experiences are equally unreal).

But as these illusionary glimpses of Enlightenment are not of the world experienced by the outward-facing senses but by the inward-facing senses, experiencing them from there while still being aware of the world of the outward-fencing senses, they can undo the deception of an external world – not abruptly like the Enlightenment of that which is one, but little by little. In the world of the outward-facing senses you must always plan for the future in order to uphold the illusion of linear time.

The more the outward-facing senses that perceive a world defined by time and space are turned inwards, the more a world not limited by time and space is experienced by the inward-facing senses. This is why it takes no time to go to the edge of the universe (read more about that here) – where the echo of the primordial vibration that Aum, Sohang, or The Word of God symbolises is used to create a fantasy of a world constructed by time and space in such a way that it seems to be genuine until you hear or feel this echo.

»With every exhalation the soul recites ‘Hang’ and with every inhalation it recites ‘So’. Thus every soul counts the mantra of Sohang (So plus Hang) twenty-one thousand and six-hundred times every day and night.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 84.

In Eastern religions the echo of god or rather one perpetual present is symbolised by the word ´Aum´ or ´Sohang´ and in the New Testament by ´The Word of God´: »In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.

One who is to be compared to the enlightenment of that which is one perceives ´The Word´ in the above quote as a metaphor for the unpronounceable vibration you hear or feel when not being totally focused on experiencing the world of the outward-facing senses. The unenlightened, however, speculates about what exact words this is hinting at, even though there is not a single verse in the Bible referring to ´The Word of God´, as if it is written or can be spoken.

The vibration that AUM or Sohang symbolizes comes from the edge of the universe, which is only far away if you let yourself be deceived by a world defined by linear time as experienced through the outer senses.

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one echo of the formlessness of oneness coming out of a black hole at the edge of the universe. This includes the vibration often symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. It is as close to you as anything else experienced in the world of the outward-facing senses, as the world of the inward-facing senses is not ruled by time and space. Thus you can go directly to the edge of the universe and hear or feel the formlessness of that which is one coming out of a black hole. It is also there that you see or taste it.

One way to turn the outward-facing senses inwards to hear or feel the echo of oneness is not to be exclusive but inclusive. When you include all that you hear or feel completely unedited – or rather are willing to do so – the sum of everything in the world of the outward-facing senses is heard as a humming coming from the edge of the universe. It sounds or feels like nothing and everything at the same time.

In such a perfect moment, you appear to be in the world of the outer and inward-facing senses simultaneously but without any sense of separation between them. A perfect moment is not a moment where you are filled up with new energy or anything else since you are indifferent to the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one. Being that, however, you feel relieved.

Be aware that the ways described in this article to have glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one will not work, if you look forward to be or have more in a spiritual, mental, emotional or materialistic way. This does not mean, you must avoid being or having more but not care about how much.

THE THIRD EYE
Appearing in the world as a symbol of life, you do not close your eyes to go to sleep but to see glimpses of the formlessness of life, which is done via the inward-facing sense called the third eye, which is a single ‘eye’ in the middle of the two eyes above the two eyebrows.

»The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.« Matt 6:22, King James Bible. This makes much sense to one who is to be compared to the enlightenment of that which is one but obviously not to the unenlightened, because in the new international version of the New Testament this sentence has been changed to: »The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.«

How this makes sense to the unenlightened, Alexius does not know. Yet he knows it makes no sense to one who is to be compared to the enlightenment of that which is one.

When you for whatever reason – maybe due to being very desperate, drunk or tired – have no energy to focus, the enlightenment of that which is one is bid welcome. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The enlightenment of that which is one is bid welcome by completely closing down the outward-facing senses. First time this happened for Alexius was when he in his early 20s returned home totally exhausted after a long nights work of taxi driving and simply was too tired to focus.

In other words, to be offbeat, exhausted, confused or maybe even drunk is a way to close the outward-facing senses, so that there is no world to see and therefore nothing to hide the enlightenment of that which is one. In fact anything that is not part of a scheme to fabricate images defined by time and space will do.

If that includes drugs Alexius does not know, because he has not experienced them. Yet he can say that from looking at others taking drugs, that it seems to be more about expanding the consciousness of a world where there seems to be more than one than undoing it.

»Direct your eyes toward the middle of the eyebrows and meditate upon your own self. It is Shambhavi Mudra, the most secret practice of all the Tantra scriptures.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 59.

The positioning of the body, while activating the third eye, does not matter, as long as the body does not bother you.

Practically speaking you can close the visual outward-facing sense and open the third eye by closing the eyes and lightly, without any concentration, hold a finger on the third eye. It is best to do this in a dark room, so you do not think the revelation of light comes from the world of the outward-facing senses.

If something like this is dechiffered into different colors and forms, you will have glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one, but if you do not judge any colors or forms to be different from each other the apparent differences will explode into one bright light.

If having a vision like this and it is deciphered into an experience of different colours and shapes around a centre, it is a glimpse of the enlightenment of that which is one. If you on the other hand do not judge the apparent different colours and forms to make a difference or to come from somewhere specific, one bright and colourless light, that seems to explode from out of nowhere wipes out all thoughts collected to form you into someone definitive, so that there is nothing to hide that there never was and never will be anything else than the formlessness of oneness, because formlessness has no end.

As the sense of sight is always looks for the greatest contrast of light, your closed eyes automatically search around in the darkness until they move inwards and upwards towards the third eye from where they settle down at a light show expose at such a speed that the apparent contrast between the splashes of colours hardly can be perceived.

If no contrasts are perceived at all the colours turn into a white light, that is so bright that it is not contrasted by something or illuminating anything. That is the enlightenment of that which is one.

»Touching eyeballs as a feather, lightness between them opens into the heart and there permeates the cosmos.« Sochanda Tantra, stanza 13.

If your eyes do not automatically move inwards and upwards into the area of the inward-facing senses, that is above the eyebrows, you may help them by gently pressing the thumb and middle finger across each eyeball from outer corner to inner, while having the forefinger on the third eye.

But this is not really commendable, since even the slightest effort requires focus, and it is not focus but defocus that bids welcome the enlightenment of that which is one or glimpses of it. Furthermore this may give you the impression that certain physical postures will open the third eye.

None of the inward-facing senses can be reached via a specific posture or way of thinking. Deactivating the outward-facing senses, however, can be achieved in this way, so if you find a specific technique that seems to be helpful in this regard by all means go for it. Yet the fastest way to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to not know what and where you are.

One way to to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to use an eye massager with infrared heat fusion technology, such as Breo iSee4 Eye Massager. Besides from turning off the outward-facing sense of seeing, the heat soften the eyes. And when they are relaxed, they do not focus. Hence they automatatically turn inwards and upwards and merge with the third eye. This massager also does wonders for the body.

»… and there shall be no light there, and they need no candle there, neither the light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light.« Rev. 22:5

The thought construction that seems to keep you together as someone tangible is left at the edge of a black hole.

When your eyes are so soft that they do not focus or you momentarily do not know what and where you are, there is nothing to prevent glimpses of enlightenment to merge into one bright white light, namely the enlightenment of that which is one, which extracts all thoughts, that you have hold onto in order to appear as someone definitive, and leave them at the edge of what may look like a black hole, so that there is nobody to experience the nothingness of you gracefully falling into the formlessness of that which is one.

Enlightenment is not an out-of-the-body experience as it is not an experience, but its preliminary stage of bliss and compassion, which is connected to the world via the pineal gland, is an experience that is often perceived to be out-of-the-body.

Enlightenment of that which is one is not an out-of-body experience. It is not an experience at al. But its preliminary stages of bliss and compassion, which in the world may to be connected with the pineal gland, is something that can be experienced as an out-of-body experience.

Most, however, are afraid of loosing their identity, so they settle for glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one, which is like a blissful out-of-body experience – presumably linked to the pineal gland, that appears to foster states like that.

If you are not tempted to stop at this state of bliss, but to go where someone definitive cannot go, namely into the enlightenment of that which i one, it is not an out-of-body experience. On the contrary, there is no experience at all, neither consciousness, because to experience or be consciousness about something requires more than one.

If you want to return from the enlightenment of that which is one to a world where there seems to be more than one, you must pick up the thought construction, that was left at the edge of a black hole before you entered it, in order to be shaped as someone definitive.

Returning from the enlightenment of that which is one to a world where there seems to be more than one, you cannot know, you have been at the other side of a black hole, because you were not there and there is no other side, since there is no more than that which is one. In other words, the person you appear to be is not enlightened. Yet, due to your vague memories of that which is one, you are to be compared to the enlightenment of that which is one.

It is not possible though for somebody else to know, that you are to be compared to the enlightenment of that which is one. You will hardly grasp it yourself. But you will for sure grasp, that a world where there seems to be more than one is not real, and that anything appearing there – including the appearance of you as someone definitive – therefore is an illusion.

Appearing in a world where there seems to be more than one as a symbol of that which is one, you do not perceive music to be a means to joy but as a tool to be reminded of the airy music full of ethereal harmonies floating out of a black hole at the edge of the universe.

»I heard a sound from heaven like the sound of cascading waters and like the rumbling of loud thunder. The sound I heard was also like harpists playing on their harps.« Revelation 14:2, Holman Christian Standard Bible.

Being used to take a ride in the world of the inward-facing senses, that opens up when the outward-facing senses are not fully used to experience a world defined by time and space, you sense that the first sentence of this quote refers to ´Aum´, ´Sohang´ or ´The Word of God´, and that the second one to ethereal music.

»At midnight when not a single sound is heard, close your ears with both hands and do Purak Pranayama. Listen to the sounds in your right ear which are very pleasant. The first sound that you will hear is of a pine bird, the second of a flute, third of a cloud, fourth of a dragon bee, the fifth of a ringing bell and then of a gong of metal. Sounds of trumpet, drum etc. are also heard.

As Alexius has no intellectual knowledge of religious scripts most of the words in the quote from Gherand Samhita are meaningless. But since he hears inner music himself, it is easy to pick up the essence of the quote, namely the bliss of listening to inner music.

Besides these, many other sounds are heard if it is practiced daily. These sounds are Anahata (unproduced) and come on their own accord. Nada is related to light. Light is related to mind, so mind gets itself merged in a sound which is the seat of the Lord. Therefore, practice of Bhramari gives Siddhi of Samadhi (i.e., makes Samadhi possible).

Mind gets eightfold more pleasure in the act of meditation than Japa (repeating God’s name), eightfold more interest in Tapas (penance) than the meditation, and eightfold more interest in music or sound than the Tapas. There is nothing greater than music.« Gherand Samhita, stanzas 77-81. Besides for the word ´Nada´ meaning music Alexius does not know the meaning of all the Hindi words in this quote, but hearing inner music himself – though not so bombastic as described in this quote – he gets the overall meaning of it.

Using noise-cancelling headphones is a great way to close the outward-facing sense of hearing. Alexius prefers in-ear headphones, though, as they can also be used when going to bed.

A practical way to stop hearing the world of the outward-fencing senses and start listening to the music of the inward-fencing senses is to put both thumbs in your ears. Instead, you can use a noise-cancelling headphone or an in-ear headphone. Then without focusing or trying to define anything, be nothing but the ethereal music coming to you from what may seem far away.

For tuning in, it is best not to go with the vibrations appearing to come from the left ear, as they often are the sounds of a busy mind, but instead follow the harmonies that appear to come from an empty space a bit outside of your right ear. That said, do not pay too much attention to directions.

Maybe you will not hear ethereal harmonies but the humming symbolised by ‘Aum’, ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God’. If so, follow this glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is one.

It could also be that you ‘hear’ what you interpret as your thoughts, although you have no thoughts. That is something the special self has made you believe via meditation or other things where you seem to be in charge of thoughts and thus your life – like you assume you make a dream, although you cannot change anything except your perception of it.

As the special self lives from separation, it cannot survive inclusion, so if there is no attempt to edit the thoughts fabricated by the brain by excluding those that do not fit into the perception of being special and instead include them all as they are, there is nothing to make the self special. Therefore, it is in the basic mode, where it automatically is in sync with the thoughts produced by the brain.

Consequently, they do not disturb you from hearing empty space as eternal harmonies – or, if in touch with one of the other inward-facing senses, experiencing it as light, infinite sweetness or sublime intimacy. That said, just like even though nothing disturbs you from hearing the sound of the ocean, to notice it, you must want to listen to it.

Tasting the sweetness of life helps you to not focus on the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus glimpses of Enlightenment coming from the world of the inward-facing senses become the foundation for perceiving the world of the outward-facing senses. Since this results in not perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference, there is no differentiation between you and the world you experience. THE TASTE OF LIFE
Appearing in the world as a symbol of oneness, you are not tasting the most exquisite food to get delicate experiences from that, but to be reminded about the taste of life, which in the world can be compared to the taste of foam from a milkshake with a few drops of honey added to it or to how marshmallows – especially those with a flavour of strawberries – interact with the palate.

»Your lips drip nectar, my bride, honey and milk are under your tongue.« Song of Solomon 4:11.

»Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never be thirsty, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him as a well of water springing up into everlasting life.« John 4:10-4:14.

To compare a taste to something else is a very individual thing, so you may not compare the inner taste to that of liquorice.

To describe a taste by comparing it to another taste is a very individual thing. In other words, you may not compare the taste of life to a taste of milk and honey with a hint of liquorice.

Even though this taste is called the nectar of life in the old scriptures, you should not expect it to make you younger or inject you with more energy in the world of the outward-facing senses. Anyway, you are better off never to expect more of anything, as that which is you is no different from that which is one, and since it is formlessness and therefore endless, there is no more than that which is one. Hence looking for more is an illusion based on the belief that there is more than that which is one.

One way of undoing this belief is not to focus because without it, a world where there seems to be more than one cannot be perceived, and so it does not seem to hide, there is no more than the formlessness of that which is one. Fortunately, the taste of life is very beneficial in regards to defocusing.

Some Chinese Herb Formulations or teas – for example Spring Dragon Longevity Tea – enhance the taste of life, provided you are already are in touch with it. The same applies to the Ayurvedic teas, that Alexius have tasted or most teas including liquorice.

As already mentioned, the taste of life can be compared to enjoying the transparent taste of the foam of a sweet milkshake. Sometimes, however, it is with a hint of either liquorice, strawberry, or mint. Thus none of its descriptions is definitive. It is best not to compare the taste of life or other glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one to anything else, as all comparisons are based on definitions from the past and therefore cancel out the ever-present glimpses of Enlightenment.

The inner sense of taste not only stops the compulsive focusing on forms but also your cravings for sweets and to experience  something definable. The taste of life is always there and it is free. Neither do you have to meditate or be pure to consume it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula. And if you cannot do that, it is also OK, because doing so is just meant to help you deactivating the outer senses and the only thing that really accomplish that, is the intention to do it. Just like even you are at a springboard, you will not dive from it, if that is not your intention of going there.

The inward fasing sense of taste does not only stop the compulsive focusing on something definitive but also your cravings for more, for example more sweets. The taste of life is always there. It is free, and you do not have to meditate or be pure to consume it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula and devote yourself to the taste dripping from above. If you cannot get your tongue all the way, it is not a problem, because doing so is just meant to help you deactivating the outward-facing senses and the only thing that really accomplish this, is the intention of doing it.

The taste of life unfolds under the tongue, when it is moved behind the uvula (the skin flap hanging down in the back of the mouth at the entrance to the throat). Placing it there makes you feel like you are not in the world even though you appear to be there, because it cutbacks the need to focus and also the longing for more. As a side effect it diminishes the craving for sweets as well. That is if you devote yourself to it – no techniques will work without devotion. Yet devotion can work without a technique.

To get the tongue behind the uvula you may have to press it backwards for a long time, maybe several months, and finally use a finger to push it the rest of the way, which may make you feel as if you are about to vomit. No worries – it is just a feeling. When you are used to keeping your tongue there, it is easy, and there is no sense of vomiting.

»Khechari Mudra is turning the tongue backwards into the cavity of the cranium and turning the eyes inwards toward the eyebrow center.« Haha-Yoga Pradipika, Chapter 3, stanzas 32-37.

You do not have to literally replicate the technique in above quote, where the taste of life is called Khechari Mudra. Neither do you actually need to be able to make the tongue go all the way behind the uvula. Pushing it as far as possible will do.

The way to bid welcome the enlightenment of that which is one or glimpses of its facets is not about perfection. Neither is it about how you breath, eat or anything else you appear to do in the world of the outward-facing senses. Yet things like that may be helpful in order to deactivate the outward-facing senses.

But no technique in the world of the outward-facing senses can deactivate them, if that is not the intention of executing the technique. In other words, first step is solely about intention, and if that is to deactivate the outward-facing senses, there is nothing to hinder your trip into the world of the inward-facing senses. Second step is to devote yourself to the amazing journey there.

The above about steps only applies to having glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one and not to bidding it welcome in its entirety, as it takes more than one to take any step.

It is probably best not to be active in the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. The visual glimpses of Enlightenment can become so intense that the world of the outward-facing senses hardly is sensed.

When the belief in being in a world where there seems to be more than one is undone, there is nothing to hide that there never was and never will be more than that which is one.

However, the technique for tasting the sweetness of life can be carried out while being active in the world of the outward-facing senses. The same applies to enjoy the ethereal harmonies if you hear them without putting your thumbs in the ears. And it also applies to hearing or feeling the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise.

This may result in the experience of a world that seems less defined. Not to the extent, though, that you cannot navigate there. But it probably feels like you do not have to and that you are carried around in a dream with no will of its own.

That is, as long as you do not take the full tour of these glimpses because it ends in the formlessness of oneness, where you no longer appear to be someone in a dream of a world where there seems to be more than one, neither do you appear to be in oneness since that requires more than one.

In other words, you are not someone at all, and there is no memory or consciousness of you ever having been that because it was all make-believe, and the belief is wiped out.

The part of the world of the outer senses you want to experience is not meant to be blurry but in focus, so what you see is definable. It is the other way around with the world of the inner senses,. The part of the world of the outward-facing senses you want to experience is not supposed to be blurry but in focus to make the experience definable. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. Hence mixing the two worlds does not work out.

FOCUS VERSUS DEFOCUS
The world of the outward-facing senses needs you constantly concentrate and focus on it as if you are an autonomous creature in control of your own life. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. It reveals itself when there is no effort to focus, concentrate and control.

But since it is also an act of control to continually try not to focus to see, hear, feel or taste the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one, so besides from getting a headache spreading out from the third eye from too much focus, the inward-facing senses are fenced off.

As long as you intend to appear in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is best to multitask between the inner and outward-facing senses, so you can focus when needed in the world of the outward-facing senses and space out in the world of the inner ones when nothing is required of you.

How to make this work between the inner and outward-facing senses Alexius does not know because it is automatically taken care of via his connection with the empty breath, which functions as an automatic gear shifting between the inner and outward-facing senses. See the last part of the article about the empty breath.

THE BELIEF THAT THERE IS MORE THAN ONE SEEMS TO BLOCK OUT THAT WHICH IS ONE
In a world where there seems to be more than one, the mixing of things may work well for you. But not in the world of oneness. As it requires more than one, it is not possible to mix anything, so the idea of combining the different facets of the Enlightenment of that which is one fence it off.

That said, if you do not do the taste of life technique for the sake of the taste but for its benefits regarding defocusing, you can do this while being devoted to either seeing, hearing or feeling glimpses of Enlightenment.

Seeing everything in a world where there seems to be more than one as symbols of that which is one, will make the outer senses turn inwards, so it is easier to grasp, there is no more than that which is one.

Seeing everything in a world where there seems to be more than one as symbols of that which is one will make the outward-facing senses turn inwards, so it is easier to grasp that there is no more than that which is one.

WAYS TO HACH THE BELIEF IN A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
Can the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is one only be undone via the inward-facing senses? No, it can also be undone via the outward-facing senses as described in hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation, hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life, hack #3 Not being exclusive but inclusive is freedom from being someone definitive, hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality and hack #5.2 The empty breath and the bliss of not believing to be someone.

There might be other hacks other than Alexius’ Duality Hacks that undo this belief. But as Alexius has not tried them, he cannot say if they work. Yet, the hacks based on second-hand knowledge from Buddhism and whatnot are most likely fake – especially if those promoting the hacks have beautiful visions about a hypothetical better future full of love, bliss and happiness because there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless.

In other words, to be blissful, happy or full of love is an illusion, as it requires more than one to be anything at all.

The connection with the empty breath does not unite the outer and the inward-facing senses. Still, it makes them synchronised, which among other things, means that what you used to judge as stressful in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses will not seem stressful when synched with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses because of the indifference coming from the empty breath.

CONNECTING WITH THE BREATH IS LIKE GOING INTO A DRIVERLESS CAR PROGRAMMED TO GO INTO THAT WHICH IS ONE
The empty breath
‘lifts’ you out of the belief in being someone definitive by automatically synchronising the outer and inward-facing senses so that glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one become the basis for interpreting the world of the outward-facing senses.

It is like being transported in a driverless car that is programmed to take you to your favourite aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is one, so you carelessly forget to define the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one, and they as one bright light, tone, emotion or taste carry the nothingness of you back into the formlessness of oneness.

NOTES ABOUT THE QUOTES
The terminology of yoga and so-called holy scriptures – apart from The New Testament – is unknown to Alexius, so he does not know the scriptures from which the quotes in this article are taken. Instead, he found them all by searching the internet.

When everything is included there does not appear to be something outside of you, neither inside of you, as that requires there something to be outside of you. In other words, there is nothing but the formlessness of oneness.

Alexius does not sympathise with Eastern or Western religions. Neither new age philosophy, as they generally appear to exclude what is judged as bad to become what is deemed better, purer or higher. Yoga techniques, for example, are often based on meditation or something else where what is not one is excluded. It may not always be the experience that the empty breath is your best friend because it is of no help regarding what and where you like to be. When connected with the empty breath, what you seem to receive from the world is always the same because you receive what you give and give what you have, namely the indifference of the empty breath.

Feeling the connectedness with the empty breath, you smile regardless you win or not because, in the flow of the empty breath, you are indifferent to becoming and getting more.

To be loved is a need that comes from the perception that differences make a difference. But since the empty breath is indifferent to differences, being loved does not make a difference when connected with it.

The function of the empty breath is not to improve the apparent condition of what and where you appear to be. That would be a replacement of one illusion with another. Instead, its function is to facilitate the undoing of the belief that there is more than that which is One.

Being connected with the empty breath, you are indifferent to the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one – just like you are indifferent to the experienced differences in the world of a movie or a computer game because you know they are make-believe.

The empty breath is a life jacket you got from that which is one when you left it to be and have more than one. Of course, this is a metaphor because you have never left oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Yet, it seems possible to imagine not being there but in a world where there seems to be more than one.

This life jacket, the empty breath, loves you unconditionally. Thus it is not bothered by what and where you believe to be. Actually, it does not even know this fantasy. It can only be shared by those who want to be somebody definitive. And the empty breath has no way of being something because it is nothing, thus seeing nothing.

Thus being connected with the empty breath, every experience of something is perceived as nothing. Of course, this does not mean that you do not do anything about a broken leg, for example. But since it is seen as nothing, you do not add worries to your broken leg. Therefore, since changing or transforming something or somebody does not seem appealing, you have a laid-back life with the empty breath.

Taking deep breaths or, in any other way manipulating the breath is not beneficial when connecting with the empty breath because doing so enhances the belief in being someone in charge. The same applies to being centred, balanced, focused or something else.

It is the willingness not to hold back thoughts that connects you with the empty breath. The uncontrolled energy of thoughts ignites a take-off into the empty breath, whether you walk, sit, talk or whatnot. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

Unconfined thoughts or feelings repeatedly shoot off several at a time to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. But you stop them from doing that by defining them, so you can remain in the illusion of being someone definitive.

The more you limit yourself to being someone definitive, the more you feel like you will collapse. To prevent that, you improve your definition until you feel so constrained that you burst into anger or stop giving a shit about holding yourself together. Thus the uncontrolled energy of the suppressed thoughts and feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath. However, it does not help you escape your cage but the belief that you are in it.

What you see on the screen is on a hard disk with nothing but zeros and ones disguised as something. Yet, it is not before the combination of zeros and ones is processed by an app into what appears to be on the screen that the nothingness of the hard disk is experienced as a tangible world that you can change.

The empty breath, which in this context is unprocessed zeros and ones, does not know that you assign special meaning to the nothingness on the screen, which, in this context, is the world, so that you appear to be someone experiencing something instead of emptiness.

All that the empty breath knows is that there is no more than the formlessness of that which is One. Thus all that it wants is to breathe nothing but emptiness into what you believe to be and see so that there does not seem to be something hiding there never was or will be more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If the present stream of thoughts or feelings is not manipulated or suppressed, its untamed energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. You can make up stories of love or anything else in its presence without feeling deceitful to the empty breath because it sees the world where you believe to be as a blank computer screen. So although the stories you fabricate seem to disclose something on it, the screen remains empty.

In other words, when you are with the empty breath, it does not matter how you perceive the experiences produced by the brain. You do not need the happiness from being in sync with the brain. You are in the bliss of nothing until you define it as something.

No worries, having been with the empty breath for just a split second, the slate is wiped clean. Thus you return to interacting with a world that appears to be outside of you with the perception, it is what it is.’ This perception makes you feel on the beat regardless of how you experience something.

That is until you judge specific experiences as better by not perceiving your reaction to them as ‘it is what it is’ but ‘I know what it is.’ Read more about those perceptions in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy. However, this does not make you feel on the beat because hardly anything goes your way. Fortunately, if not handling this frustration, its untamed energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath.

In this way, you can go back and forth between the conscious experience of something (read more about that here) and the bliss of nothing (read more about that here) until you forget to disconnect from the empty breath and its state of not-knowing, and the Enlightenment of that which is One erases everything that requires more than one. Since that which is One cannot be experienced, it is ignored by those who believe that something unexplainable is unreal. At best, it is imagined as a state of consciousness in which the self is transcended into a higher one. Oneness, however, has nothing to do with being in a state nor about being conscious of something because that requires more than one. So does being someone. The empty breath is not about getting better health, more money, success, love or anything else, but seeing that what you appear to be and have is nothing. Hence there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

As you probably have read many times in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, since it requires more than one to experience something and oneness is formless, thus endless, every experience is fictional. Obviously, this also includes the experience of the empty breath. It is as unreal as any other experience.

Yet this experience, which is deeply rooted in an archetypical image of a never-ending rhythmic flow, slowly but surely undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Furthermore, it makes it seems unproblematic to have this belief. Not in the sense that you are not troubled by anything but indifferent to it.

If this feels confusing, do not try to get a grip on it. Instead, go with the flow of chaos until you cannot make ends meet into being someone definitive but feel as if you are about to explode, which in a sense also is what happens when the build-up tensions ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Since it results in a state of not-knowing, you are not bound up with the belief in being someone definitive until you leave this state and return to that belief.

A state of not-knowing, which is the result of the empty breath, is also the outcome of the other duality hacks. If it always is the same state cannot be known because nobody is conscious of it.

The bliss of the empty breath may be felt like an intangible yin-yang sign

PREFACE:
Since the bliss of nothing that sets in when connected with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing, it is impossible to connect with it when in the consciousness of being someone definitive. Thus the connection must be established before the brain, based on signals it claims to receive from our sensory system, delivers a convincing experience of being somebody definitive in a world defined by time and space.

Science states, the world we seem to feel and see consists of 99.9999999 per cent empty space. And the rest, despite it also is empty space and as immaterial as a dream, is what we perceive to be elements of matter making up a world defined by time and space.

Therefore, appearing to be someone definitive is make-believe, regardless what and where you appear to be. Read more about empty space in the articles The empty breath is empty space and so is what you believe to be and Free to float in the void of the empty breath.

On account of this taking one second for the brain to accomplish, the connection with the empty breath is established by going back one second in linear time from the present experience (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath, and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ). Back then, nothing had not been processed into something by the brain. Therefore, since there is nothing to define you, there is no difference between your nothingness and the empty breath.

This has nothing to do with getting closer to your pure essence. You have no soul. You are nothing. Being with the empty breath, this becomes obvious. Hence you can go back as nobody in the world of something and have fun pretending to be somebody. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation.

How to connect with the bliss of the empty breath

You connect with the empty breath by not connecting with the consciousness of you as someone definitive experiencing the tangible world that the brain spends a second fabricating from the frequencies it imagines to receive from empty space. You can compare this to not turning on a computer game because you rather want to experience the physical world – except that connecting with the empty breath is not a conscious experience but a state of not-knowing. And you have just a second to connect with the empty breath. Fortunately, it is plenty of time, provided you are willing not to attest to a world of something but be in the bliss of nothing. The empty breath sees no separation, so it has no need to connect with you, no matter what and where you believe to be. But you believe in separation, so you need to connect with it if you want to be indifferent to the belief in being disconnected. See also, You exist nowhere but in dreams, and they are not real.

Forget about being conscious of the empty breath, as what you are conscious about is never the present but the past.

When you connect with the empty breath by going back one second from your present experience to the nothingness from where it was processed into something by the brain, the unprocessed moment is extended into a state of not-knowing. In this state, you do not pick up on the brain’s deceptive fabrication of you as someone living in a capsule of time and space. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

However, this state cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to a conscious experience of being someone definitive. When the experiences of something produced by the brain from signals perceived to come from empty space no longer are confirmed as real by the self, created from the same nothingness, the brain feels abandoned. Thus it falls into a coma.

But if you do not want to appear as a separated being anymore, you do not mind the brain falling apart, so it no longer can map out empty space as if you are someone definitive in a tangible world. Hence there is not something that appears to hide, there never was or will be anything but oneness since it is formless, thus endless.

So regardless you want to remain as someone definitive or not, a state of not-knowing induced by the empty breath is bound to end pretty soon so that the consciousness of being someone definitive can be resumed or tcompletely erased.

No need to worry about having your consciousness totally erased by accidentally staying too long in a state of not-knowing. First of all, hardly anybody comes to the point where the brain starts falling apart, and should you reach that point but long to be someone, fear of survival will set in. This is enough to reboot the brain and bring you back to the experience of being someone definitive, where they forget a state of not-knowing until blissful memories emerge.

Is it the bliss of the empty breath that undoes the belief in being someone definitive, or is it the undoing that connects you with the bliss of the empty breath? But since this question arises from the belief in being someone definitive, an illusion fabricated by the brain, an answer would make the fantasy real. The same applies to asking who has invented this illusion or who chose to undo the belief in being someone. If this could be answered, the illusion would be real. In other words, there is no answer to anything because everything experienced is constructed from nothing. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

How not to be deceived by the brain’s experiences of something and instead drift in the bliss of nothing cannot be answered. The question is founded on the belief that you are someone definitive, and the bliss of nothing comes from the indifference to that belief.

Neither can it be known if it is the empty breath or being indifferent to the belief in being someone that comes first concerning the sheer bliss of nothing. The only reason somebody wants to know this – or anything else – is that they believe to be defined by what they know and want to remain like that rather than nobody in the bliss of not-knowing.

Thus the above about where to find the transparent bliss of nothing, entailed by the empty breath, is not an attempt to answer the question but to rule it out. The same applies to the below, which further explores the above.

IN THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Even though it only takes the brain a millisecond to register the signals, it imagines receiving from the sensory system this very moment, what you consciously experience right now happened in the past because the brain has used one second more to process those signals into a conscious experience of something it expects you to perceive as real because if not, you are exposed as nothing.

In other words, since your conscious experience of now is a delayed interpretation of nothing that it has taken the brain one second to process, what you believe to read now you read in the past – or more to the point, you never read it because one second ago there did not appear to be something covering up nothing.

When not organising thoughts and feelings into specific categories, they do not seem to represent something in a substantial world. Hence there is nothing to block out the empty breath, that does not know of such a world or that you believe to be someone there. All it knows is the nothingness from which this fantasy has been made, because it is nothing.

As this means you are never in the present but in the past, and as it is nothing, there is nobody there to perceive the apparently different experiences of something to make a difference. Therefore, since they do not establish a world where there seems to be more than one as real, it is exposed as nothing. Consequently, when going back one second in linear time from your present experience, there is not something that seems to separate you from the empty breath.

what you believe to be is the brain

The brain uses five per cent of its capacity to construct a self that, through singled out memories, feelings and imaginations, makes up an exciting story about itself, stored all over the brain as if it is you. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Just five per cent of the brain is used to shape the conscious experience of ourselves as somebody defined by time and space. However, much more space is needed to establish this experience as real. Hence a big part of the brain is continuously occupied with thoughts about ourselves as if they are caused by a tangible world around us, thus seeming to confirm we are somebody in it. It seems that if the brain cannot deceive us into seeing something where there is nothing, it falls into a coma after 20 minutes, 45 at the most. And since all the memories we have selected to back up what we believe in being are stored in the brain, this belief is terminated.

Therefore, if you want to return to the belief in being someone, you cannot stay too long at a time in a state of not-knowing relatively. However, this is not a problem because most leave a state of not-knowing as soon as they enter it. Their urge to be someone definitive is so deep-rooted that it paves the way for the brain to break through a state of not-knowing with images of you as someone becoming and having more and more. Compared to being such an amazing person, being nobody in the transparent bliss of nothing seems uninteresting.

In the bliss of the empty breath you are indifferent to being and having more

The urge to be and have more is the cause of all suffering because more want more, so you will never be or have enough. But this is not a problem when connected with the empty breath, as it is indifferent to differences. Hence you always have enough. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Therefore, a state of not-knowing is left by imagining you are and can do amazing things. However, it is hard work to live up to the expectations of being special, and it seldom results in the excitement you imagined. So one day, you prefer to use your frustration as a take-off into the empty breath (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ), and instead float in the bliss of nothing, that arises from the indifference to the desire of being and having something special.

The flow of the empty breath goes in all directions – up and down, back and forth, from right to left, or anywhere in between – within an irregular circle with no fixed centre or size (see the illustrations in What does the empty breath feel like?). Once having been with the empty breath, it automatically syncs the inward and outward-facing senses, regardless you have left it. Thus the sense of tranquillity in the inward-facing ones helps you get through the sense of turbulence in the outward-facing ones (see The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses).

This does not mean it will seem easier to get a new spouse, more money and whatnot in the world of the outward-facing senses, but it becomes apparent that it makes no difference what you seem to be and have. That which is you is not a limited creature stuck in a capsule of time and space but the formlessness of oneness.

But if you cover the three incomplete black circles, the grey triangle disappears, and the other one appears fragmented.

Since the brain not only decides what we see but also what we hear, feel, smell and taste, we are not free, but something fabricated and controlled by the brain into believing that we are somebody in a world where there seems to be more than one, and not the formlessness of oneness.

Consequently, there is nothing to heal but the sick belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. This automatically happens when connecting with the empty breath, which takes us back one second in linear time to the nothingness from where the brain has rendered our present experience of something.

This does not mean that the empty breath is the formlessness of oneness because it takes more than one to be something. But, metaphorically speaking, it is the door to that which is One.

now is an illusion fabricated by the brain

When the brain, now and then, screens out what you see so you do not get seasick from the movement of your eyes, it fills the gaps based on memories. But as they most often have been heavily edited, the story fabricated by the brain to fill in the gaps may clash with the story of the present that others have. IN THE WORLD OF SOMETHING
You are probably not aware that now and then, throughout the day, you are blind. This is because the brain screens out what you see to prevent you from getting seasick when the eyes move. You do not notice that you are blind for two hours a day because the brain hides this by filling the gaps with visual impressions of what it imagines to be there.

In the first episodes of a new TV show, there are normally hints pointing to the forthcoming episodes, and since the brain thrives from envisaging what is going to happen next, it is captured into anticipating the future of the characters and thus enchanted by its own predictions into a state of amusement.

The writers of Game of Thrones try to hook you up and fence of the bliss of the empty breath

The writers of ´Game of Thrones´ want us to bond emotionally with the characters, so that we feel attracted to them as if they are real and not just a fantasy. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

But if the writers of the show do not comply with their own hints when inventing the next episodes, the future of the characters does not turn out as predicted by the brain. Thus the fate of the characters becomes a mystery, that the brain hopes to unravel in the following episodes, wherefore it compels you to stick with the show until the very end. In other words, it is not you but the brain that is in charge.

The predictions fabricated by the brain to fill the gaps of blindness are basically a remix of memories that have been adjusted every time they were recalled to boost the story of you as someone in a tangible world. Therefore, since it does not match how others see the same events, you conclude that something is wrong in your story or in others. Hence you start trying to correct what is judged to be incorrect.

The more you appear successful in this, the more it seems that the story can be shaped to come out with a better version of you. Yet, no matter how the story is corrected, it remains a fantasy, and so does the idea that you are the author.

Just like within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, you are not the author of a dream. Neither are you in it nor is the dream in you. It is a deception made to look as if nothing is something.

Fortunately, the brain cannot make the empty breath look like something, so when we are in its bliss of nothing, we are not deceived by the experiences produced by the brain to perceive them as something.

In the bliss of the empty breath the belief in duality is undone

In a state of not-knowing, the brain cannot establish the everyday consciousness of you as someone definitive. However, this does not mean that your awareness as someone definitive is replaced by something better, higher or purer but by no consciousness. Thus, nobody is aware of the bliss of not believing to be someone. That is why it is like air walking in the air. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

WHEN DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES ARE NOT PERCEIVED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In a state of not-knowing, you are blind in a sense that there is no conscious experience of you as someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one.

Thankfully this is resolved by the empty breath and not the brain. The latter continues to process what it claims to receive from the sensory system as if it is something instead of nothing. Still, since the empty breath is indifferent to the apparently different experiences of something, there is no awareness in the connectedness with the empty breath of how the brain categorises them in contrasts of good or bad, right or wrong, love or hate, within and without and so on.

So, although a world where there seems to be more than one looks the same when in a state of not-knowing, its apparent differences are not perceived to make a difference. Therefore, since there is no knowledge of being someone definitive, there is nobody to be happy, sad or anything else. This does not mean that there are no thoughts and feelings but that nobody relates them to them as if they make a difference.

The brain deceives you to fence off the bliss of the empty breath

The problems you perceive to have, do not come from the world where you appear to be but from the belief that you are there. Hence the solution to all problems is the same, namely the undoing of that belief. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

If the body, where you appear to reside, again and again, drops something, you could be defined as clumsy. If you believe this and feel guilty about it, you might want to change it.

But since every effort to improve yourself is based on the belief that there is something wrong with you, your efforts are not changing this belief but enhancing it. You secretly accept this because even though you do not like to be defined as clumsy, it is preferable to not being defined because that means you are nobody.

Yet being nobody, there is not somebody to be clumsy or something else. There is just the bliss of nothing.

In short, the connectedness with the empty breath is simply a way to overlook the apparently different experiences fabricated by the brain so that they are not judged to make a difference. Hence a world where there seems to be more than one does not appear to establish the belief in separation.

Following the flow of the empty breath is no different from following the flow of the genitals, in the sense that no thinking is needed. The result of being horny, though, is the enhancement of the belief in being someone definitive.

This is not to say that sex should be avoided (see Holding back to not ejaculate is just another physical manifestation – but without the physical thrill of it), because the exclusion of sex or anything else adds to the definition of you as someone definitive. Actually, an orgasm can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, if you do not hold back, but are nothing but orgasmic.

Although the connectedness with the indifference of the empty breath eventually undoes the belief in separation, it also enhances it because it requires more than one to connect with something.

Since nothing appears to make a difference in a state of not-knowing, there is no special place to go or someone special to love. This may feel like being stuck inside an unbreakable armour of pain instead of floating in the bliss of nothing.

However, if not trying to escape this feeling of claustrophobia but being that and nothing else, there is nothing to define you as something. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

The same applies to choosing something. Therefore, to not enhance but have the belief in separation undone, you do not select the empty breath or anything else. And since you are nothing without the choice of something, you are in the flow of the empty breath.

Reading this article about the empty breath can be beneficial if you want to unlearn what you have learned about being someone so you can connect with the empty breath and float in its bliss of not believing to be anybody. NOTHING TWISTED INTO SOMETHING
It takes more than one to appear as someone, and there is no more than that which is one since it is formless, thus endless. Thus appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is a fantasy made from nothing, experienced by nothing.

This is not to say that oneness is nothing. It is that which is One, and it takes more than one to be anything. For the same reason, it is impossible to fantasise about something in oneness. Nevertheless, it seems possible to imagine there is something outside of it. But since oneness is endless, there is nothing outside of it. So even though the brain twists it into something, it is non-existing.

This is probably why science concludes that the world we seem to feel and see consists of 99.9999999 per cent empty space. And the rest, despite it also is empty space and as immaterial as a dream, is what we perceive to be elements of matter making up a world defined by time and space.

Just like everything else sensed, the empty breath is invisible and colourless until the brain ascribes it to a specific shape and colour. But as the empty breath does not aspire to be something, the brain does not care to twist it into an object. Thus it remains invisible and colourless.

Not knowing what and where you are is the bliss of not believing to be someone

In the connectedness with the empty breath, the apparent difference between the opposing sides of the contrasts making up the experience of duality is cancelled out. Not in the sense that you do not register them anymore, but that you do not perceive them to make a difference. THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Though science seems to know that the experience of something is made from nothing, thus is make-believe, they explore the experiences of something as they are real. However, in Alexius’ Duality Hacks, we expose something as nothing, so there does not seem to be something hiding there never was or will be anything but the formlessness of oneness.

The experiences the brain fabricates of someone substantial in a tangible world only seem real when perceived as something. If not, they are exposed as nothing. To see that, you go back in time to the nothingness the brain twists into your everyday experience of something.

Since the empty breath resides there, and it has taken the brain one second to fabricate your current experience of something, it only takes one second to connect with the empty breath and be in a state of not-knowing, thus the bliss of nothing. This happens via the inward-facing senses. But if the brain is not kept active in a feedback loop, with thoughts that seem to confirm the world of the outward-facing senses as something, it falls into a coma. Thus you cannot be in the bliss of nothing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to a world of something. Read more about that here.

Connecting with the empty breath is not about being deeper, purer or balanced. Being something is part of the experience of being someone, and the empty breath is not part of that but the nothingness that this experience is fabricated from.

In the flow of not believing to be someone

Should you wonder, who chooses to believe in being someone in the world of the outward-fencing senses, or who has programmed the brain to produce this world so that it seems tangible, or who is connecting with the empty breath, or who is wondering about this, the answer is nobody. WHAT AND WHERE ARE THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
What you see, hear, feel and taste in the world of the inward-facing senses, and the outward-facing ones are based on the same sensory system. Thus their different names do not mean they differ from each other, physically speaking, but they are different ways of experiencing the same frequencies of the nothingness that the brain twists into experiences perceived as proof of being someone.

In the case of the inward-facing senses, the experience of its world is abstract because the brain has not yet processed the frequencies of nothingness to appear as physical elements outside of you. Thus it feels as if the world is inside you. But in the world of the outward-facing senses, the brain has processed nothing into something, so you appear as someone definitive in a tangible world outside of you.

However, since it takes more than one to experience something and as there is no more than that which is One, any experience is an illusion, regardless it seems to come from the outward or inward-facing senses.

Consequently, the above distinction between inward and outward-facing senses and a brain receiving something real from the sensory system is part of the non-existing brain’s plot to deceive you into believing you are experiencing something where there is nothing.

It takes nobody to know where the inner senses are


The abstract world of the inward-facing senses is experienced when time and space are not entirely considered real. Ultimately speaking, though, these experiences from the inward-facing senses are no more real than those via the outward-facing senses because any experience requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Therefore, it is only in the context of the belief in more than one that there is someone to experience an abstract world, lightly processed by the brain from the frequencies of nothingness, and a substantial heavily processed by the brain from the same frequencies.

The abstract experiences of the inward-facing senses open up when you do not entirely believe to be someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. Hence there is little left of this belief when you are in the world of the inward-facing senses. Otherwise, there would be nobody to experience the world of the inward-facing senses. In other words, when you appear to be nobody in the world of the inward-facing senses, you have not totally left the belief in being somebody because there must be somebody to register the experiences of nobody. Consequently, the abstractness of nothing you experience in the world of the inward-facing senses is slightly something.

It only takes the brain a split second to twist nothing into an abstract experience in the world of the inward-facing senses. However, since the brain wants you to have a tangible experience in a substantial world, it uses one more second to distort nothing into something experienced as physical via the outward-facing senses.

THE EMPTY BREATH SYNCS THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
Suppose we once connected with the empty breath and quickly left it. However, it remained with us because it is unaware that we believe to be separated beings in the low-frequency world we experience with the outward-facing senses.

Yet the empty breath senses the stress coming from this belief, so it synchs our discomfort with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. It is not because this world is more peaceful than the world of the outward-facing senses but because it is a high-frequency world. Thus the speedy and restless energy that appears to cause stress in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem stressful.

The empty breath always functions as an automatic gear change between the outward and inward-facing sense. When connected with it, the abstractness in the world of the inward-facing senses becomes the base from which the world of the outward-facing senses is perceived. Thus it does not appear to consist of something but nothing. When not connected with it, the world of the outward-facing senses is prioritised. But when you relax, have sex or your response to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is, the ratio between the world of the outward and inward-facing senses changes per what and where you appear to be.

It is unnecessary to undo the belief in being someone definitive to connect with the empty breath, but it is essential to be willing to undo it. This does not require meditation or anything else in particular.

There are many ways to appear in a world defined by time and space, but there is no way to leave it because you are not in it. Like within the context of such a world, a dreamer is not in their dream and, therefore, does not return to their bed when the dream is over. Likewise, you do not return to the formlessness of oneness when your apparent life in a world defined by time and space is finished because you never left the formlessness of oneness. APPENDIX
Since most resist being nobody, they are not willing to undo the belief in being somebody. But if you acknowledge this, you confirm what you appear to be is make-believe. Thus you have a willingness to undo the belief in being somebody.

This does not mean that you suddenly are gone, reborn or awakened. Like within the context of this belief, Santa Claus does not stop when you grow up. But the belief that he is real stops. However, there is one difference between the undoing of the belief in Santa Claus and you being someone definitive. When the belief in the latter is undone or in the process of being it, you are not disappointed. Instead, you feel free to enjoy being someone defined by time and space.

Although being in the bliss of nothing is straightforward, it may seem complicated if you assume thoughts must be controlled or stopped because focussing on them is impossible in the nothingness of bliss. Neither is focussing beneficial for getting there. But when not hot holding onto thoughts by concentrating on them, they speed up until the explosion of their unedited energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its blissful state of not-knowing. GOING WITH THE EMPTY BREATH FROM THE ABDOMEN
When you connect with the empty breath, it may feel like you have two kinds of breaths. The well-known one that you probably, out of habit, struggle for by taking quick gasps of air or maybe slow down to take deep breaths. And then the empty breath, which may seem not to supply you with enough air. But that is because it has a slower pace than you are used to, with a more extended break between breathing in and out. It keeps a healthy balance between breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide in a laid-back way.

It does not feel like you bring about breathing, but a ‘generator’ in the abdomen. Very gently, it first expands the abdomen, secondly the belly and lastly the chest. Then, after a short break, it goes the other way to contract the body. And then on and on. It feels like there is hardly any air coming in and out of the nose. That is because it is experienced with the inward-facing senses, and since that requires the outward-facing senses to be turned down, so are physical movements. But as long as you do not compare the experience of the empty breath with the physical one, it feels as if you get sufficient air from an inner breath.

For that reason, the physical breathing may be through the mouth if that suits you better than through the nose. However, when it is through the nose, you can simultaneously do the technique for the taste of life to get its side-effect of defocussing, thus supporting the empty breath. See the paragraph The taste of life in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

Please be aware that this is not a factual description of breathing when the empty breath is in the driving seat, but a description of how it may feel, physically speaking. This is not to say, though, that the empty breath is experienced with the outward-facing senses. On the contrary, you experience it with the inward-facing senses.

Therefore, the empty breath goes on undisturbed by the physical condition of your body, In other words, if you have an inflammation in the lungs that hinders a full physical breath, the experience of the empty breath is unhindered as long as you stay with the inward-facing senses but patiently wait for the empty breath to fill your lungs with the bliss of nothing.

Practically speaking, you follow a flow from the abdomen to the top of the head when the breath expands the body from the abdomen to the chest. At the same time, you stick to the thoughts and/or feelings popping up without editing them. At the top of the head, the gentle explosion of the unbounded thoughts and feelings erases the perception of your experience as something so that you are in the bliss of nothing, thus indifferent to being someone definitive.

This state of not-knowing remains while breathing out and following a flow down to the abdomen. From there, you start over again, so going up and down keeps you in a state of not-knowing, provided you do not perceive an appearance, like your spouse, to make a difference.

This should not be understood as a state of not-knowing resides in the flow of the physical breath. It is nowhere in particular. That is why it is obscured by the experiences of time and space that seem to confirm you as someone definitive in a tangible world.

However, if you stay in a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time, if you want to continue the experience of being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. Thus a great way of almost always remembering it is to quickly change between the conscious experience of being someone definitive and a state of not-knowing, entailed by the empty breath, in which the slate is wiped clean. Hence, you return unconditioned to the conscious experience of being someone. We take a closer look at that after the box.

When every so often connected with the empty breath, nothing remains a problem because the differences that appear to have caused it, are cancelled out the very moment you return to the empty breath. Hence they cannot be used to make a perception of you as someone making a difference.

That is, if you do not prevent the empty breath from cancelling out the differences by insisting on some of them making a difference, for example in your work. Fortunately, the frustration that seems to arise from claiming to know what is right can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

GOING UP AND DOWN, GOING NOWHERE
Instead of remaining in a state of not-knowing after going down to the abdomen when the breath contracts the body, you can return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive when you leave the abdomen and with the expansion of the body goes up to the head again. You leave a state of not-knowing by perceiving yourself to make a difference.

From the conscious experience of being someone definitive, you can again return to a state of not-knowing. You do that by not perceiving the thoughts and feelings constituting the experience of being someone as something. Thus you leave the head as nobody and go with the flow of the breath down to the abdomen when the body contracts. There you go up with the flow to the head, having a conscious experience of you as someone definitive – and so on.

What you believe in being is gently falling apart when rapidly going back and forth between the consciousness of being someone definitive and a state of not-knowing, because in a state of not-knowing all definitions are erased. Therefore, since you do not perceive yourself to be special when returning to the conscious experience of being someone, it is easy go back to a state of not-knowing.

Having been in this flow for a while, it becomes automatic. However, you cannot know when you are connected with the empty breath because you are in a state of not-knowing. Nor can you know who follows the breath up and down because the contrast of up and down quickly cancels itself out (read more about that here). Thus you appear to be nobody who, as somebody, goes nowhere. In other words, it is like a movie: you seem to be there, but nobody is in it.

In short, the rapid on and off connection with the empty breath will sooner or later end all experiences because it cancels out differences. Without them, there is nothing definite to encounter. And thus, not something to hide, there is nothing but that which is one since it is formless, therefore endless.

Suppose you think you find something better around the next corner. In that case, you will probably not notice the empty breath because it is not behind anything but before everything that the brain has twisted from nothing into an experience of something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GOING WITH THE EMPTY BREATH FROM THE THIRD EYE
In this article, we have talked about breathing from the abdomen. But if you prefer a more metaphysical approach, you can begin to breathe from the third eye.

This is not to say that it is you who initiate the breathing. You defocus on the third eye. Then you wait patiently, and the breath starts by itself. But you do not go with the flow of the breath. Instead, you rest in the space it seems to have opened in the third eye and filled with the transparent sound of the empty breath. From there, you probably sense the swing of the empty breath in the upper part of the body, and when breathing in, you see glimpses of Enlightenment. Whether breathing from the abdomen or third eye and going with the flow of the empty breath, the streaming of thoughts is called off. However, now and then, it may come back. But it disappears in the next breath. Thus you cannot hold onto something specific. No worries. You are in the bliss of nothing. And although it is very energetic, you have no urge to achieve something. Therefore, since you do not hope to get anything, the world feels transparent, regardless of looking the same.

FORGETTING GOING UP AND DOWN:
Connecting with the empty breath is not a matter of letting go or surrendering since doing so enhances the belief in being someone definitive. And you keep it at bay if you try to figure out which way to follow the rhythm of the breath or if the empty breath follows the physical breath because the empty breath has nothing to do with bodily preoccupation. Actually, you will never know if the physical and empty breath are aligned because you are in a state of not-knowing when connected with the empty breath.

It is a matter of speech when Alexius’ Duality Hacks say the empty breath fills you with emptiness. It does not supply you with anything. Instead, it replaces your experience of the body as something with nothing. Hence the body is acknowledged for what it is. The same applies to every other experience you have. They are all nothing disguised as something. Seeing that, there is not something to bother you. That is why it is so blissful to be connected with the empty breath.

The apparent difference between a boy and a girl, for example, must be upheld as real to sustain the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. The differences appear precisely the same when connected with the empty breath, but they are not judged to make a difference due to its indifference. Hence the belief in being someone definitive fades out.

Should you forget to go up and down, there is no reason to condemn yourself because there is no self. It is an illusion because it takes more than one to be or have a self, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. For the same reason, being with the empty breath is also make-believe. Nevertheless, since the empty breath gives you nothing, it does not establish you as something. On the contrary, what you believe in being is exposed as unreal.

GOING WITH SOMETHING AS NOTHING TO FEEL THE EMPTY BREATH
It may be easier to remind yourself about the nothingness of the empty breath by relating to it via something. For example, Alexius’ name for it is the same as his beloved dead cat. Although it is not a substance anymore but has turned into nothing, thus the same as the empty breath, the memory of it hooked up with the empty breath is like a laser of nothing going through his perceived obstacles of something in the body. Thus nothing stops him from feeling the connection with the empty breath.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, you cannot experience it in a specific way. Yet, it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thingy,  which top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes this idea. Read more about that here. Hence it is a no-body experience. This does not mean that you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay do it. Thus you want to be disrupted.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border or anything else in a fixed position. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might be felt as if it has a fixed centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

This is not a problem for the empty breath because, contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it to be in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

I am not a talented illustrator, so instead of making an illustration of the inner breath, I have manipulated an image found on the internet in order to give you an idea of the simultaneously movements inside it.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with lots of oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it, that each one has two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside it. You cannot see those waves in the simplified illustration to the right but in the simulation in the second image from here.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean that its edges are blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may grow bigger and smaller here and there so that it momentarily feels more pear than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each of the circles inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating, so there are many non-fixed centres.

There appear to be an endless amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundaries of the empty breath, located vertically and horizontally plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang shaped waves moving inside them. But they are actually fused into one yin-yang shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most will probably not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of many different movements in their size and shape, everything is fused into one single move. But since this can be hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is most likely easier to experience just one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe it comes in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is all about going with the flow. So if it seems to go the opposite way, by all means, follow it.

The flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that instead goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. But the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you experience a second before the brain processes it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Going with the flow of the circular movement in one of the above circles feels like you are surfing two yin-yang like waves inside the empty breath. But this is just one way to experience the empty breath. Below is a short introduction to ways of feeling it, then a more detailed description of each of them.

Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below paragraph of the same name) or the indifference of it (see the section The empty breath is not the giver of joy and happiness but indifference in the article The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound (see the below paragraph The transparent sound of the empty breath) or felt inside the body (see the below section The swing of the empty breath), or sensed as if nobody is surfing the two yin-yang like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experiencing the empty breath like that but to inspire you to go with its flow.

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang like looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing the outside of the two yin-yang like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
In the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right, you see a simplified simulation of the empty breath. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the illustration reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each of the circles inside it contains two non-definitive waves that you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without the holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body.

In the above intro to the empty breath, there is a more detailed explanation of how the circles containing the waves are arranged. As mentioned there, the circle can be smaller and bigger, and the direction does not matter. And besides surfing the two yin-yang like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere in between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is to follow the flow as it comes to you. Doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways may be revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate the body with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to feel something. Thus the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about the past or feel pain in the back, you can get a massage by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you and leaving out the wave in front of you in a vertical circle.

Should you want to be grounded, you surf the full horizontal wave in the lower half of a vertical circle passing through the abdomen or even lower in the direction from the back to the front of you. You could also choose the bottom wave in a vertical circle going from the left to the right side of you – or the wave in the lower half in one or more circles between the two others mentioned. No reason to memorise this. Just go with the flow.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive or deliberate. In that case, you respectively surf all the way around the wave to the right and the left inside a horizontal circle going around the head. In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around the wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling in the chest caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves but only on the side aligned with a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Should you have tight hips, blocked abdomen or spasm in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The size of the circle, thus the waves, adjust to the need for relaxing these areas. Should this release sadness, you may feel like crying. If so, forget about the empty breath and take the time to grieve. Then return to the same circle of the empty breath if that is what the flow calls for.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts of it into a position that benefits the whole. In such case, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

It may call for surfing another combination of other waves, for example the whole wave in front of you in a horizontal circle going around the abdomen and a complete wave in front of you in a vertical circle from the head to the stomach or the other way. Maybe surfing them simultaneously or whatever seems beneficial regarding getting through the problematic areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust it gives you what is in your best interest.

You cannot illustrate the inner breath, as it has no definitive form. This animation, however, may give you an idea about the ´structure´ of the inner breath and the high frequency of its inner movement, which seems to originate from an yin yang like curved line – not just as curved though. It feels like, it is the swing of this floating line that expands and contracts the body, so that it breathes in and out. Unlike an yin yang sign the inner breath is not a flat circle with a curved line, but rather a ball wherein the curved line swings upwards and downwards as well as sideways, forwards and backwards and everything in between. Unfortunately the animation is not able illustrate that, neither how slow the swing of it actually feels in the body. Even though it extremely active inside the ball, the experience of it is that it has all the time in the world to expand and contract the body.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. However, this animation may give you an idea about how the swing of it feels like it comes from the blurred curved line between the two shapes of a yin-yang sign – but less curved. The swing of this line expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. But unlike in a yin-yang sign, the swing of the empty breath is not inside a flat circle but a non-definable ball, in which there are many similar circles with each their curved line. Depending on where one of these circles is experienced to be located, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to swing upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. Unfortunately, the animation is not really illustrating this. Although the swing of it is magnificent, its experience often is that it is very laid-back in expanding and contracting the body.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
What is said above about surfing the empty breath generally also applies to feeling the swing of it, except that this is solely felt inside the body. There the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang like waves is sensed as a swing that extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line in between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath may seem to expand and contract the body slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. Maybe the break in between expansion and contraction also feels too long. But the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that at first, it feels like the body does not have enough room for it.

Surfing the empty breath is done on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas the swing of it is the movement of the curved line between the two yin-yang like waves in any of the circles.

In other words, the curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. Breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath in the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out, in the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the whole curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in control. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, the fusion of them at first feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still – see the third image from here – that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation, but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain sparkling with joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if you are surfing yin-yang like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling of it is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits and where you are not defined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to this aspect of it – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, this force is sensed inside and outside the body. It is often easier to feel its subtle but erratic energy outside of the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. If you do not try to catch its abstractness but go with its fleetness, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

Sensing the operator of the empty breath outside of the body, you will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. From there you probably are transferred to the rhythmic flow of surfing or feeling the swing of the empty breath.

The apparent chaos at the root of the empty breath, where the operator of it resides and where you often land after igniting the empty breath, is therefore a good starting point, when you want to be in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

If you, out of habit, try to focus on the empty breath to hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph) or feel its rhythmic flow, you are bound to perceive it as something and thus fence it off. A more beneficial way to approach the rhythmic flow and transparent sound of the empty breath is to start in the chaos of its root – whether sensed in front or back of the body, on top of it or all around it – because that leaves nothing specifically for you to focus on, wherefore there is not something definitive blocking out hearing or feeling the rhythmic flow of the empty breath.

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands the body and ‘ham’ when it contracts it.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, the sound does not seem to have a definable location, so it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body like it has nothing to do with the body.

And as that is actually so, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience like feeling the rhythm of the bass because it cancels out the feeling of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. A sofa, for example, does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it.

This is because you do not perceive bodily experience as specific when you are deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Thus there is no inside and outside and nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it becomes evident that it is unreal. But like the reality in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, the reality of a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being someone in such a world is all pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience this as visions of light, and the auditory minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness. The glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One are revealed as the Enlightenment of that which is One if not interpreted to differ from each other. The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius does not make a difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody really knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. The empty breath is not only to be experienced within its border, because it has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive, as only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may have different memories from those of Alexius.

If still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you better read about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely, you feel the empty breath one way or another. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, you miss the empty breath.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. And you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

This is not to say that techniques cannot be helpful with toning down the experience of you as someone definitive so that the apparent existence of you in a tangible world does not seem to be a fact but make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like a remote control have nothing to do with the music, it triggers.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

How to ignite a take-off into ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

When not trying to make sense of this image but going with its absurdity, the free-flowing energy of the experience spontaneously ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its bliss of emptiness, provided there is a willingness to forget what you believe in being. As soon as you have had enough of the frustration coming from keeping together a fantastic image of yourself and you do not try to edit or transform your feeling of desperation, the raw energy automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath. Since it resides in nothing and your current experience of something is processed by the brain from what it imagined seeing in nothing one second ago (read more about that here), the take-off into the empty breath only takes one second.

In other words, when you connect with the empty breath, you go one second back in linear time to the nothingness the brain twisted into your present experience of something. But perceiving that with the empty breath, it is not seen as something, thus not confirming you as someone. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing.

In linear time, it may take a few more seconds, or many years, before there is nothing but the bliss of emptiness because out of reflex, you probably force the physical breath through the tensions in the body instead of going with the flow of the empty breath. It probably feels like the empty breath is an intruder you fight off with the physical breath.

However, this fight is make-believe. The empty breath does not see you as someone made of solid elements but of emptiness like itself. So when you stop fighting nothing, the empty breath passes what you believe is something problematic in the body as nothing. In other words, when going with the empty breath, you do not have to push your way through obstacles in the body or avoid them because the empty breath does not perceive them as something.

Nevertheless, the function of the empty breath is not to heal the body but the sick belief that there is someone in it. So although it may heal the painful areas of the body where they were made, namely nowhere, it is not the priority of the empty breath. This does not mean that the body should not be taken care of while you believe to be someone but that it is a physical matter, which the body can manage itself in many cases. It may at first feel like the empty breath sets off from an engine in the gut or the chest as it is an inner breath that slowly pumps air from there to extract the body (read more about that here). Hereafter it returns to the engine which seems to take its time before it pumps out air again, unaware of being inside and outside.

What you believe in being is nothing twisted by the brain into someone experiencing something. In the presence of the empty breath, which is nothing not been processed into something, you become indifferent to the experience of something, wherefore there is not something specific to define you as someone definitive. Despite the empty breath being nothing, it is experienced like something in a world where everything is expected to be felt. You might experience it like having fun surfing yin-yang like waves in the rhythmic flow of the empty breath or being everywhere and nowhere in the sound of it, or joyfully moving with the swing of it, or being still in the abstractness behind its rhythmic flow. Although it may have been unedited speed and chaos that connected you with the empty breath, it is not a speedy or chaotic affair being connected. Instead, it is like you weightlessly walk on clouds. Think of being high up in the sky in an aeroplane. Although speed ignites the take-off and must be maintained to keep you in the air, it is not the speed you feel there but a relaxed experience of flying in clouds.

Regarding speed, whether connected with the empty breath or not, we are always moving extremely fast because the Earth, thus also us, is spinning at 1.000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. But having a static perception of ourselves, we do not feel the thrill of this, whereas having a perception in sync with the brain (read more about that here), we feel the speed and can use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

However, the ways described in this article and the other ones in hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing are generally not geared for a self in sync with the brain but one out of sync. Most are drawn in by the excitement they imagine getting from doing things their special way.

Even though the result is frustration and not the relaxation coming from being in sync with the brain, they insist on their way because in a world where being special, bitchy and having something extraordinary is the standard, being independent of the brain seems to be their only chance of becoming important. Thus hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is mostly about using stress and speedy thoughts for take-off into the empty breath.

Let us imagine, you have covered your eyes with your hand, so you can indulge in daydreaming aboutbeing in a world that revolves around you without being disturbed by the world outside of you. Though it feels great to be in a fantasy where everything turns out the way you want, it also feels strange to be cut off from the actual world.

So when you want to see the world as it is and not as you imagine it could be, and you sense it is your own hand that stops you from doing so, you automatically remove it. In other words, the built-up frustration of not seeing what is real and the realisation that your own hand hides it, makes you remove your hand so you can see the world as it is.

You may not only sense the bare feet that have made the footprints in this photo but also the body they belong to. Yet there is no feet or entity in the image, and nobody makes footprints like those. HAVING HAD ENOUGH IGNITES A TAKE-OFF INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
The process in the above box resembles the way a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. The perception of your experiences as something hides they are a fantasy made from nothing. This perception, which is to be compared to the hand in the above box, is made from selected thoughts organised into a spiritual or mundane vocabulary that you share with like-minded ones to confirm each other as real and not a fantasy of the brain. When you have had enough of the confusion that comes from this misperception, you loosen the grip on the selected thoughts, making it up. Thus you start to see that being someone is a daydream. When you are fed up with living a fantasy, your frustration ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, you are still in the world of something. However, the experiences of something are perceived as nothing. Therefore, since you are not attributed with a specific meaning, you are in a state of not-knowing.

The empty breath cannot be experienced as something definitive because it resides in the nothingness unprocessed by the brain. Hence you do not notice it if you want to experience something specific.

Thus there is no awareness of the bliss that comes from being nobody. But memories of it pop up when you return to the experience of being somebody. This you must do at the latest 20 minutes, 45 at most, after entering a state of not-knowing if you want to be able to go on in the world of something. Read more about that here. Returning from nothing to something, the slate is wiped clean, so even though it feels like you had a unique experience, you are nothing special. Instead, you are the basic self you always were supposed to be. Thus you feel happy.

Since this happiness does not come from something in particular but from being in sync with the brain (see hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one), there is no need to always perceive an experience as something specific. Thus, now and then, there does not appear to be something to hide the bliss of nothing. In other words, you automatically go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone. See To be nobody and yet somebody.

Are you confused about how to connect with the empty breath? If so, do not try to clear up the turmoil but go with its unedited energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. THE PURPOSE OF ALEXIUS’ DUALITY HACKS
There is no reason to diligently learn all the duality hacks for undoing the belief in being someone definitive. None of them is a goal in themselves – nor do they lead to the target. There is no destination because you are already there.

Hence the purpose of applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to return to that which is One but to expose the belief that seems to hide it, namely that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

The speed of unedited thoughts and feelings ignites the bliss of nothing (DRAFT)

That which is One can be compared to a movie running so fast that no frames can be seen. A world where there seems to be more than one is the same film slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of many different frames. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Contrary to common belief, oneness is not the same as stillness but as loudness. That is, if the speed of it could be heard. But that is impossible since that requires more than one. You could also say that oneness cannot be experienced because it is an analogue movie played so fast that its frames cannot be seen. The speed merges the frames into one. Hence it is not quietness but speediness that is the bedrock of oneness.

In the context of this metaphor, a world where there seems to be more than one is a movie of oneness slowed down to the extent that it appears to consist of frames divided by time and space. Read more about that here.

Those insisting in oneness being stillness want to take it slow, so they have time to control themselves, thus appearing as balanced.

It is, therefore, not calmness but speediness that is needed to accelerate the slowed-down movie of oneness into its natural speed, which is so fast that it cannot be seen. Hence hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing is not about slowing down thoughts or stopping them but not holding them back, so their uncontrolled speed ignites a take-off into the empty breath. It syncs the speedy thoughts in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, so they can be further accelerated without you going insane in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Inevitable thoughts move so fast that there is no time to hold onto them to establish you as someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. Therefore, since the inward-facing senses do not see you as definitive, it takes over the perception of the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you are in a state of not-knowing, which is pure bliss.

However, you can only stay in a state of not-knowing 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time if you want to return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive because the brain falls into a coma if there is not a continuous dialogue – internal or external – about something that seems to confirm you are someone definitive.

Therefore, if you do not want the brain to fall into a coma and you to disappear into the nothingness from where the experiences of what you believe in being is fabricated by the brain, you must return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of something by resuming your grievances about the world experienced to be outside of you, so you again are established as separated from what you experience, thus someone definitive.

Instead of returning from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being someone definitive, you can remain there until you are unaware of something specific. Therefore, since there is not something to confirm you are someone, there is nothing to be absorbed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read about that in HACK #6, The inward-facing senses, Enlightenment, and glimpses of it. This does not only mean that the appearance of you as someone definitive is over, but you have never existed, neither materially nor spiritually, because it takes more than one to exist.

Most, however, never enter a state of not-knowing, and if they do, they quickly leave it. But in this hack, you get to unlearn the collectively agreed ways of pacifying yourself through meditation and television, for example, but instead, step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions to ignite a take-off into the empty breath that slowly but surely exposes your experiences of something as nothing. Therefore, since your slate is wiped clean by the bliss of nothing, you become nobody pretending to be somebody in a world where there seems to be something.

To not forget being nobody, you may go back to a state of not-knowing to have the slate wiped clean again. Or maybe you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is,‘ thus being in sync with the duality flow, which never stops at something specific, so you cannot be somebody. You do not have to sit in particular postures or do something extraordinary to take-off into the empty breath. Instead, you acknowledge your present chaos of thoughts or feelings without trying to shape them by a specific belief system. When you edit them, the energy of chaos is replaced by the numbness of order.

To achieve this, you do nothing but be it (more about that below in the big box). This is not only the take-off into the empty breath but also the destination because totally being something leaves nothing to contrast it, thus nothing to define you, wherefore you are in a state of not-knowing.

Have you already have organised the chaos of thoughts or feelings into a specific belief system, there is no need to go back to chaos to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. You acknowledge its suppression by being nothing but paralysed (read more about that here, thus undefinable.

But you do not know the bliss of not being someone before you return to the conscious experience of being that, and blissfully memories of emptiness start popping up. However, you know you are nobody when you do not care about what and where you appear to be.

When trying to control, change or stop thoughts and feelings, they are slowed down. Thus they do not have the speed needed to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, where they lose their apparent meaning, thus their apparent power to define you as someone definitive.

Please be aware that the above explanation of that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one is as absurd as any other explanation because it requires more than one to explain something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

You do not get rid of an emotional problem by suppressing it but by feeling it. This is not done by sharing it with friends, nor by focusing on the cause with the help of a psychiatrist. These approaches disassociate you from your feeling. And you cannot get rid of it if you do not feel it.

So instead of sharing what you imagine to feel with somebody else, feel it all by yourself until you are nothing but that, thus eliminating a feeling to contrast it, wherefore there is not something to define you having a problem or anything else. Consequently, you are in a state of not-knowing.

When returning from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone, like a criminal, you do not think in terms of right or wrong. But unlike a criminal, you do not replace these categories with a calculation of what you can get away with it. Instead, you remain in their interaction, which is the duality flow. Being in that, there is nothing to disturb you from falling into a state of not-knowing again and again.

Take-offs into ‘the empty breath’ [draft]

PREFACE:
If you do not try to control or stop the speedy and chaotic movements of thoughts and feelings to organise a coherent image of yourself in the world of the outward-facing senses, there is nothing to support the belief in being someone definitive in a world defined by time and space. Thus the empty breath can sync the perceived tangible image of you in the world of the outward-facing senses with the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.

Since this synchronisation makes the abstractness of the inward-facing senses the foundation for the perception of you as someone in the world of the outward-facing senses, the experience of separation in that world does no longer seem absolute. Therefore, since you, do not seem to be someone definitive, you enter a state of not-knowing, which is like walking on clouds of bliss.

TAKE-OFFS INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
Success and failure in the world of the outward-facing senses tend to speed up thoughts and feelings. Therefore, you may try to fix feeling stressed by meditating, even though it often has the opposite effect, bringing about more thoughts and feelings. Read more about that here.

The fastest way to not be bothered by speedy thoughts and feelings is not to organise them into something harmonious but to have the raw energy of unsuppressed chaos ignite a take-off into the empty breath, which immediately takes you across an invisible bridge to the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, from where the speed of the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses that brought you there does not appear to be stressful but soothing.

In other words, when stress is not suppressed in the world of the outward-facing senses, its chaotic energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath that automatically synchronises the outward and inward-facing senses. Hence, the world of the inward-facing senses becomes the foundation for how the world of the outward-facing senses is perceived.

And since the inward-facing senses vibrate at a high frequency, the experience of speedy thoughts and/or feelings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem disturbing when perceived from the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. On the contrary, it is like walking in clouds of bliss.

Except for the inward and outward-facing sense of sight, the sensory organs are the same for both of them. The difference between them is that the world of the inward-facing senses is relatively unprocessed by the brain, thus abstract and experienced inside of you, whereas the world of the outward-facing senses seems tangible and outside of you. That said, what the brain receives from the sensory system is nothing. The body and its aura are a fantasy. This includes the brain making it because there is no more than that which is One, and it takes more than one to make something. But within the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One, this is the fantasy Alexius’ Duality Hacks is using to expose that everything experienced is an imagination nobody is making or having. The differentiation in Alexius’ Duality Hacks between the inner and outer world does not mean that they are experienced via two sensory systems. But that they are two different kinds of experiences: One perceived to be inside and the other as outside. It is, actually, the info from the same sensory system the brain claims to process into an inner or outer world, where the inner one seems abstract and the outer tangible.

It has taken the brain one second to produce your current experience of the outer world (read more about that here), so if you go back one second, you get the unprocessed version of being someone who reads this now. At least theoretically speaking.

However, none of your experiences is based on information from the sensory system, as the brain claims. Nonetheless, most choose to trust the brain about this because otherwise, it is evident that all its experiences are processed from nothing, thus they are non-existent. In other words, the unprocessed version of reading this is nothing that the brain has twisted into something experienced by someone.

In this nothingness, you find the empty breath, which has not been processed into something by the brain. A split second before you reach the empty breath, you meet the brain’s first attempt to turn nothing into something. It is the abstractness of the world of the inward-facing senses. Almost a second later, the brain has processed the abstractness into your current experience of being someone substantial in the tangible world of the outward-facing senses reading this.

When indifferent to the belief in being someone, it feels good appearing to be that. This is until you are not indifferent to this belief anymore. Then it feels like hell.

In the connectedness with the empty breath, the world of the inward and outward-facing senses are synced with what and where you appear to be in the world of the outward-facing senses. But you probably do not sense the inner world when walking down the street, although it is from there you see the road and, therefore, do not perceive it to be something.

When you connect with the empty breath, the image fabricated by the brain of you as someone definitive is downplayed but still in play. Otherwise, there would not be somebody to experience the world of the inward-facing senses and the glimpses of the Enlightenment that may come from it. Read here how to have glimpses of Enlightenment. Your eyes do not need to be closed for this because while you have glimpses of the Enlightenment, the world of the outward-facing senses is automatically minimised.

You cannot experience the abstractness in the world of the inward-facing senses without partly being conscious of the image fabricated by the brain of you as someone definitive. Hence the empty breath synchs the world of the inward and outward-facing senses so that part of you still believes to be someone definitive. The only duality hack that immediately undoes this belief is the Enlightenment of that which is One. All other duality hacks have a more gradual approach so that you, in a process over time, can enjoy the belief in being someone definitive while having it undone. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

No matter how the connection with the empty breath is experienced, you are in the bliss of nothing. However, this state of not-knowing cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most,** at a time if you want to return to the conscious experience of being someone because the brain falls into a coma if the communication with the self it has created is not upheld. Should you forget to return to the consciousness of being someone definitive, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. Read more about that in hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One. It terminates any experience you ever had of being someone, also the bliss of nothing, so there is nothing to hide there never was or will be more than that which cannot be experienced, namely the formlessness of oneness. Most, however, leave a state of not-knowing a long time before it is too late to return to the consciousness of being someone.

You do not need to understand the explanations about the inward and outward-facing senses to connect with the empty breath. Nor do you have to understand you are brought back one second in linear time. On the contrary, the less you know, the easier it is because you connect with the empty breath by not doing anything about how you feel, so the unedited energy can ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

If you insist on connecting with the empty breath in your own way and pace, you fence it off, because you are not in charge of anything except how you perceive it.

In other words, you must be willing to go with the flow of chaos into the empty breath, which realistically speaking means you should acknowledge you are not ready for that. The new age ideas about being still, centred, for example, are not going to help you with taking off into the empty breath. Those ideas are based on excluding something to obtain a specific experience, and there is nothing definitive about the empty breath. Actually, you do not even know when you are connected because you are in a state of not-knowing.

Please do not try to construct a picture of what you are reading about the empty breath so that you seem to understand it. There is not something to know because it is nothing. So stick to being confused. The unedited energy of that will ignite a take-off into the empty breath, so you, in one second, are filled with the bliss of emptiness.

Any unedited tension in the body or emotion in the psyche will ignite a take-off into the empty breath. This is as easy as going the flow of erotic energy until it explodes and you feel released.

However, this does not mean tensions and emotions magically disappear, when connecting with the empty breath. See The purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to heal the body but the belief that there is someone in it. But due to its indifference to a world of differences, nothing seems disturbing.

The conclusion is not that you should stop taking medicine to ease hay fever, for example. It may help you to relax. Therefore, since you go not suppress but face the stress and fear of feeling attacked, you can use the energy of this violent experience to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

Any other intense and unmodified experience, such as sex, can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Feeling depressed works also fine and just like other emotions, it vanishes in the connectedness with the empty breath. Or, to be more correct, it is the consciousness of you as someone definitive that fades out. Hence there is nobody to be in pain.

Take-off into the empty breath might be experienced to start at the top of the head as a gentle explosion of accumulated thoughts and feelings perceived as upsetting. This paves the way for the empty breath that greets you by expanding the body with empty space*, so it does not seem substantial and, therefore, does not differ from the nothingness of the empty breath. That is if you do not try to stop or edit thoughts and feelings because that takes off their edge and thus the raw power to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

But as the connectedness with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing, there is nobody to know that you are connected with it. Thus the feeling of it, as described in What does the empty breath feel like? and the other articles about the empty breath are based on Alexius’ memories of it, which pop up when returning from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone definitive.

Should you, after having read the above, feel confused about what the empty breath is and how to connect with it, do not try to resolve this disorientation but go with the flow of its unedited energy until it ignites a take-off into the empty breath, and you feel a big smile expanding your body showered by a fountain of joy.

There is no right way to feel the empty breath. At first, it may not be felt in the exciting ways described in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. Actually, it may not be felt at all because its main attribute is indifference (read more about that here), and that is not a feeling. Yet, not feeling the stress that comes from believing to be someone definitive is a big relief.

A NOTE ABOUT ALEXIUS:
The above way to connect with the empty breath is what Alexius has detected from his interaction with it. How that turned into the methods described in hack #5.2 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing, he does not know. But from testing the take-offs before writing about them, he knows that anything which seems to irritate or excite him can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, whether he sits on a bus, or walk down a noisy street, or whatnot.

Notes on perceptions

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

When you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the brain’s script. But if you start to analyse your response and conclude, ‘I know what it is,’ you are not in sync. However, you cannot know anything because you do not know what you are, nor ever will, since you are a fantasy of the brain. Read about the brain’s script in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There is no meaning in your experiences, nor are they yours. It is an illusion created by the brain, which generates all experiences to make the self that it has fabricated believe it sees, hears, feels and tastes something outside of itself. It is easy to deceive the self into believing this because if not, there is nothing to confirm its existence.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences you believe in having will continue as scripted by the brain, regardless of how you perceive them. But since the brain loves you and thus injects you with shots of happiness, it is in your own best interest your perception is in sync with the brain because otherwise, you do not notice the shots.

If you want a break from the brain, you perceive the experiences it produces as ‘dunno what it is.’ Hence you enter into a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. However, this does not mean the brain’s script changes but that you are indifferent to it because there is no need to be confirmed as somebody.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The more you perceive your responses to your experiences as ‘it is what it is,’ the more carefree you feel. Perhaps so much that your perception automatically changes to ‘dunno what it is,’ which may bring about glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. Non-duality is formless, thus without beginning and end. But that does not mean it includes the experience of duality. On the contrary, formlessness cannot be experienced, so everything experienced is an illusion. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You do not have to use the same phrases for the perceptions mentioned in HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end to participate in the game of duality, deny it, take a break, or totally forget it. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ As long as the essence is alike, the perception works the same. That said, the perception ‘I know what it is’ only works in the sense that it makes you feel special. You are still what and where the brain wants you to be, which you do not try to change when you go with the perception, ‘it is what it is.’

You leave the brain’s script by choosing the perception ’dunno what it is,’ you leave the brain’s script. Not in a sense that you are not what and where the brain has planned, but you do not perceive your experience of it as something because you are in the bliss of nothing.

To uphold the perception ‘I know what it is,’ you got to suppress your actual response to an experience. Still, it never works as intended because you are not all-seeing and knowing. The two other perceptions do not involve denial. On the contrary, your response to something cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is’ or ‘dunno what it is’ if you deny your reaction. Yet, they do not work if you intend to get something over and done.

However, this can be solved by perceiving the response to your plan as ‘it is what it is.’ It flushes out any idea of achieving something specific. On the other hand, if your response is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ there is not something to accomplish because you are in the bliss of nothing.

Do not hide your reaction to something by making a story in which you are unimpressed or detached. Instead, feel your response, so you can decide what it means and perceive that as ‘it is what is.’ This expands the interpretation of your reaction, so it is not limited to you being angry, for example, but complemented with being calm. Since twofoldness makes you feel fulfilled, you have no urge to uphold a single-minded image of yourself. Thus, sooner or later, you forget what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One has been waiting for. When your reaction to something is sadness, and it is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you also get happiness. First of all, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. But also, if something has not made you happy at some point, it cannot make you sad. For example, when your cat dies, your sadness is related to the happiness you felt when it was alive.

Should you, instead, make the perception ‘I know what it is,’ when your cat dies and what you believe to know is this is sad, you must exclude gladness to prove you are exclusively sad. But without gladness, sadness cannot be defined. Therefore, since what you believe in knowing to feel is a thought-up concept of sadness, it is fake.

Just like the twofoldness of breathing in and out makes you feel alive, you feel fulfilled when psychological duality pairs, such as love and hate, dynamically interact. However, since this interaction takes away the sense of control, most choose to separate hate from love by projecting romanticised love onto one person and iron-fisted hate onto another. Insisting on this division, they miss the joy of togetherness because it does not come from a singular but dualistic feeling.

But they get that joy when the meaning they have assigned to hatred is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ For example, if they have classified hate as weakness, this perception reveals it is paired with strength. And this polarity, like any other, brings about the joy of togetherness. Thus there is no need to project a pleasant image of love or an unpleasant one of hate onto others. Consequently, others are free from the conceptual way you used to look at them.

A feeling can only be known when explained. And since that makes it mental, you are benumbed when your perception is ‘I know what it is,’ To make up for that, you indulge in stories of a better future.

To perceive anything as ‘I know what it is’ is as crazy as thinking you know where you are in a dream. You are nowhere but in your bed.

In a computer game, everything is predetermined. No matter what you choose to do, the subsequent events are prearranged, likewise in a world of duality. You can choose between different stories going on inside your head. But regardless of which one you settle for, it carries on as scripted by the brain. You cannot change that. However, you are free to perceive your reaction to it as you see fit.

If your perception is that ‘it is what it is,’ it is experienced as two-fold. And since you are in a world of duality, you feel unified with it. But if you perceive your reaction as I know what it is,’ it is seen as singular, thus separated from duality. Hence you do not feel together but alone. Unfortunately, most think the solution to this is to get rid of duality.

Yet, it is the other way around. Playing the game of duality, you confirm non-duality because it is formless, thus endless, so there is no other reason for the experience of duality. Thus you feel connected.

The special self always makes an explanation that seems to confirm the perception ‘I know what it is.’ This enhances its conditioned view of the world and the fear of being wrong. But if you do not try to explain anything, you never need to correct or deny something to maintain you are right. Since ‘It is what it is,’ you have nothing to worry about.

If you do not feel complete, you have been messing with the duality pairs by perceiving their opposing parts as items independent of each other. Since that is your choice, you can undo it to feel complete. Read more about choosing in hack #2.2 Choosing or not. Having done that a few times, you establish every moment is the perfect moment regardless of what and where you appear to be. In other words, if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you do not wait for a better moment. This one is perfect as it is.

As that means you never wait for something better, the continuation of duality, eventually, comes to an end. Hence it does not appear to be hiding, there never was or will be anything but non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular, therefore cut off from their complementary part, you appear to judge yourself and others as incomplete. Consequently, you get the urge to improve something to feel complete.

Yet nobody but yourself has made the single-minded comments about what is right and wrong that seem to establish what one can do. Fortunately, these rules do not need to be identified to set yourself and others free from your confinement. Instead, you perceive your present comment about somebody as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. Perhaps you do not catch the elements of this duality pair because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh, while new duality pairs, like waves in the ocean, hastily but without haste, wash away your narrow-minded opinions.

The perception ‘dunno what it is’ surpasses duality rapidly, wherefore you enter a state of not-knowing. The same applies to being inclusive (hack #3.2 Inclusiveness is freedom). But surpassing duality, you cannot last as someone in a world of duality for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most. So if you go on in such a world while gently undoing the belief you are there, better go with the duality flow, which is revealed by the perception ‘it is what it is.’ See this hack. You could also jump into a perfect moment (see hack #3.1 Every moment is the perfect moment). Or apply hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life.

These three hacks, like the perception it is what it is,are based on the acknowledgement of duality, so, contrary to a state of not knowing, they do not surpass it until you have applied them for so long that you do not remember what and where you appear to be.

Alexius’ childhood [rough draft]

During childhood, we learn to alter our emotions, thus being the nice kid who never say or do anything that will make our parents unconfortable. Read more about pleasing your parents here. But everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. Therefore, since feelings never show up in a specific but dualistic way, you mess up duality by suppressing the unpleasant ones. This makes you feel disconnected, whereas going with the twofoldness of emotions, love and hate for example, makes you feel connected. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article is a continuation of ‘What if…?’ versus ‘it is what it is’. Hence it is about the perception ‘it is what it is,’ which reveals that every experience is dual. This is is so entertaining that, eventuality, you forget about duality.

Our present perception of ourselves and others is often based on one we made in the past. In the case of Alexius, in his childhood, he interpreted lots of experiences in a way that made him scared. To get rid of his fear, he projected it onto something outside of himself that he judged as horrible.

Later on, this method became his way of disassociating himself from his unpleasant feelings. Apart from making him feel better, deciding what was wrong in the world made him feel like being on top of it. Especially, because he also got rid of his affectionate feelings in the same manner. In this case, though, he projected them onto something he decided to see as wonderful.

This seemed to work great, except when Alexius felt so bothered by something that his suppressed fear flared out in verbal attacks on others. Although his emotional explosion was not physically violent, his outbursts seemed as wild as when his father in Alexius’ childhood hit him across the dinner table or wherever he lost his temper. Since Alexius assumed this happened because he was unlovable, his original devotion and admiration for his father turned into hatred and disgust, which Alexius justified by constantly finding flaws in his father.

But since doing so, psychological speaking was an attack on his father, Alexius felt ashamed he was just as hostile as his father. Thus he right away hid his hostility from his awareness by projecting it onto his stomach. And then he unconsciously tightened the shoulders to hinder the breath from fully extracting, thus blocking the free flow of info from the body to the brain. Hence he could interpret the body’s signals as attacks on himself, thereby justifying his grievances.

Another reason for distancing himself from his aggression was that if Alexius had stood by it, he may have hit his father, which was all his father needed to burst out in a rage so violent that it could have been the end of Alexius. Therefore, the only defence Alexius had was silence. On top of that, Alexius tried to look like a victim by getting moody and sick to make his father feel guilty for how he treated him (read more about making others feel guilty here).

However, this did not seem to work on his father – only on Alexius because unconsciously, he knew they were the same. They both used each other as a scapegoat for their inner demon. In Alexius’ case, he first tried to hide it from his awareness by projecting it onto the darkness of the body, and when the suppressed energy exploded, he projected the unpleasantness onto his father. Since this is the most common way to get rid of psychological feelings, his father probably did it the same way. But this Alexius cannot know.

Be aware that this story of Alexius’ childhood in is a very short version. So if progress seems to be quick, it is not so. There probably was no progress before Alexius, about 20 years old, bid the Enlightenment of that which is One welcome. But even after that, it took a long time because the Enlightenment of that which is One has no effect as that requires more than one. However, progress was effortless. Nor can he know if his description of his childhood is correct because it is done in retrospect. Besides, he is neither a physician nor a psychologist.* However, it seems he used the physical problems that arose from his congenital disability in the vertebrae to disguise his aggression and the events that appeared to have caused it in his childhood.

Since the malfunctioning vertebra pressed on a nerve going to the stomach, it was easy for him to use his bloated stomach as a hiding place for the shame he felt for being exploited by his mother. She used Alexius when he was petite and adorable as an object to give her the bodily affection his father could not provide her. Due to Alexius’ bloated stomach, the diaphragm hardened. And since it is the primary mover of the breath, his chest turned to stone. Thus it seemed the obvious place to hide his naivety and devotion, so his natural generosity would not cause him to be preyed on in the future.

Alexius grew up in a war zone, in the sense that his father suddenly hit him. His mother did nothing to stop it, so he felt terrified and completely alone. In an attempt to disassociate himself from the feelings of horror, Alexius decided to see his father as evil and himself as good. By disassociating himself from being evil, he also separated himself from being lovely because that is defined by evil. Thus he looked for something beautiful outside of himself. But that was difficult. Mostly he judged what he saw as horrible. Alexius finally realised that the reason for this was the suppressed darkness inside himself. Fortunately, not suppressing it revealed there was also lightness because light and darkness are like two sides of the same coin in a world of duality. This polarity, and those that naturally followed, made him feel complete. Hence there was no fear of feeling evil and thus no need to hide it by perceiving the world as horrible. Consequently, the apparent difference between himself and the world he used to judge as either horrific or beautiful stopped making a difference. Maybe that is why he writes Alexius´ Duality Hacks. However, since Alexius did not feel cherished with his compassion locked down, he concluded others would only love him if he gave them what they wanted. This seemed to be an unsolvable dilemma, so instead of saying no to others, Alexius walked away, closing down his gift of empathy. But that was probably for the best for a kid because otherwise, others would have exploited him entirely.

But let us delve further into Alexius’ relationship with his father, who he perceived as the devil responsible for the evil he experienced in himself. Since Alexius did not want to realise it was his own shit he saw in his father, he hid his inner demon in the neck that had collapsed due to the malfunctioning vertebra.

Therefore, since the beast inside had been blocked from his awareness, he could hold onto a mental concept of himself as guiltless. He did not choose that because he could not embrace his darkness, but because Alexius thought he had to be above reproach to be loved by his parents. But as his parents only loved the image he had made, he felt lonely and complained about not being seen.

He repressed he had chosen to hide behind a false front of being lovesome by hiding what he assumed unlovable in problematic areas of his body. So when hatred popped, he interpreted the disturbance as a physical issue in the part of the body where he initially imagined hiding his hate. Therefore, since the resulting psychosomatic disorders became an unsolvable mystery, the helpless little boy full of sorrow, rage and fear remained hidden in the darkness of Alexius’ body. You cannot appear in the world without pretending to be a person there. But the more you add to this pretending, the more you end up believing that you are what you pretend to be instead of that which is real. It happens to all of us. In the case of Alexius, it started when he was about six years old. Undoing it began 15 years later when he stepped aside to bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

When you do not try to hide sexual lust, grievances, envy, anger, negativity or whatever you consider politically incorrect, your thoughts and feelings regarding this are revealed to come in pairs. Negative thoughts, for example, come paired with positive ones. You already know this because again and again, one part of you senses something as good and right away, another part sees it as bad. If you do not try to decide between them but join their interplay, you feel as entertained by this polarity as any other. But after he became someone who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One about 50 years ago (see hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is one), his single-minded perception of being either horrible or wonderful was revealed as two-fold. Out of the inner unpleasantness came pleasantness and vice versa. He did not hold onto the specific feelings in this polarity but their interplay. It made him feel complete and not fragmented, like when he insisted on dividing a duality pair into separated elements

The higher you aim, the lower you must prepare to go because, in a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements.

Going with the constant interaction of opposites, which 50 years later was entitled the duality flow, he had no singular feelings to hide. Thus there was no basis for concealing psychological problems in his body anymore. Therefore, since his psychosomatic disorders were reduced to physical issues, they could be fixed physically. Maybe not entirely, but at least to the extent that the experience of being someone inside a body became more comfortable. Read more about that in Sadness is a close friend of gladness.

Nevertheless, out of habit, his old single-minded point of view is often the first choice when he is confronted with something new. But right away, he remembers that everything comes in pairs of opposing elements that define each other in a world of duality. Then, as from an invisible crack in his conditioned feeling of disgust, a sense of delight unfolds.

He may not notice that the interaction of this polarity soon fades out because it sets off the experience of other duality pairs, for example, humility and boldness, serenity and lust, calmness and confusion, union and separation, and so on. This is so satisfactory that he does not sense when the interplay of one polarity is over and another sets off. The beginning and end are another interaction of opposites that makes him feel complete.

Not trying to control the future, thoughts become unimportant. Hence they turn into insignificant noise in the background. Read more about that here.

Nor does Alexius usually remember the names of opposing elements in the duality pairs he encounters. Going with the interaction of opposites, duality does not have to be labelled (read more about that here) – like one does not need to label the sides of a coin to sense its twofoldness. Thus thoughts are reduced to insignificant jabber in the background. See also Happiness comes from not interfering with thoughts and emotions, whereas sadness comes from trying to do that.

In a world of duality, a holistic experience is not singular but dualistic. In non-duality there is no wholemness to experience, as it takes more than one to be aware of something.

In other words, even though the experience of duality is imaginary (read more about that here), within the apparent reality of it, you feel incomplete if you separate the opposing elements making up the duality pairs. And you feel complete when you go with their interaction – just like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you fulfilled. That is if you do not try to break off this flow of duality by dividing the breath into specific sections via yoga exercises, for example.

You do not have to be someone who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One to feel completed by dualism. All you need is to perceive your specific opinion of something as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals it is twofold – for example happy/sad or angry/calm – so you get the satisfaction of duality. Bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One is a bit like getting to the point of orgasm. Nothing else matters. But whereas an orgasm is driven by the desire for something, the absence of it is the propellant of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

This does not mean, you have to become purer by avoiding sex or anything else, nor do you have to be harmonious, physically fit or breathe in a special way. All that is needed is to forget what and where you are because the Enlightenment of that which is One does not know of  anything definable.

For the same reason, the Enlightenment of that which is One has not changed what you appear to be if you return to the fantasy of being in a world where there seems to be more than one. In the case of Alexius, for example, his psychosomatic disorders were unaltered.

But since he keeps getting glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, he is always reminded, that he is not in a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus it is like being in a roleplay, where one act out a role in a story governed by the gamemaster. However, in the case of a world where there seems to be more than one, the gamemaster is not somebody outside but inside of him, namely the brain.

Playing the brain’s game, the perception ‘it is what it is’ comes naturally. Therefore, since your interpretation of past events lose their specific meaning, there is not something definitive to maintain psychosomatic disorders – or to make one feel stuck in in the plot of the brain.

The fake link between physical and psychological issues [DRAFT]

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from reading about the perception ‘it is what it is’ in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

For years there has been an unhealthy idea about uniting body, mind and soul. Unfortunately, this approach has done much harm. The body is a physical unit built to deal with material matters and not mental, emotional or metaphysical ones – like cyberspace cannot contain anything physical.

In other words, the assumed link between a problem in the psyche and the body, or vice versa, is made up. Materiality and immateriality do not blend. Consequently, there is no psychosomatic disorder to heal but physical and psychological issues that must be dealt with materially and immaterially. This is a process over time. But it can be shortened by perceiving your opinion about the psychosomatic disorder as ‘it is what it is.’

Hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues explores the different ways to undo the belief that physical and non-physical problems are connected. But as always, in the case of a world where there seems to be more than one, it could have been better covered. However, the purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to present a complete explanation of how and why we appear to be somebody in a world where there seems to be more than one, since we are not there or anywhere else, as it takes more than one to be somewhere, and there is no more than that which is One.

To turn the basic self into a special one, you exclude everything judged as embarrassing from the perception of yourself. Moreover, you hide the banned thoughts and feelings from the awareness by combining them with physical feelings from weak or deformed parts of the body. Hence psychological feelings in the future are experienced as physical sensations. So when a suppressed psychological issue is triggered, you are not aware of it because you think your experience is physical.

No matter what medicine you take or the diet you follow to stop the discomfort in the body, the psychological issue remains as an abstract feeling of pain experienced as a physical problem in the body that drains you of energy. But this pain comes from the psyche and does not seem to hold you back before it is dealt with in an immaterial way.

Although the clothes and the body wearing them seem closely related, they have no understanding of each other. The clothes have no love or anything else to give the body and vice versa. Likewise, immateriality and materiality have nothing to give each other. Their reality is very different. That is why psychological ideas of attaining physical wellness do not work.

Since psychological issues seem to have a huge impact on the body, many conclude they are connected. But that is like assuming clothes is connected with the body. They have absolutely nothing in common.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The body is made to interact with structures that, like itself, is experienced as material. That is why the body interprets your attempts to integrate it with non-physical feelings or ideas of spirituality as an attack on its integrity, which it must defend itself against.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You will never find anything physical in the digital world. Likewise, you never find something physical in the psychological sphere or vice versa. That is why the concept of a body-mind connection is a scam.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Though thoughts about rain may seem heavier than about sunshine, they are both light in the sense that none of them last unless you insist on feeling specific. You need weighty thoughts to substantiate this. And it helps if they can be justified by something.

So if you assume the thoughts popping up when it rains are caused by it, they seem to be an effect of something tangible. Therefore, since the world appears to have turned thoughts into a substance that you can feel, you conclude the experience of being someone definitive is real. Maybe you compare the current event with a more powerful one from the past to make your existence feel even more real, although it is nothing but a construction of thoughts.

Non-physical feelings are fleeting, so if you want to make them last, you must combine them with something more lasting, like physical feelings. However, immateriality and materiality do not mix, so their combination is purely speculative. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The nature of non-physical feelings is fleeting, so if you experience a specific one as sticky, it is not due to this feeling but to you. Maybe you want the experience to last, so you combine it with something you often feel in the body.

If it is an exceptional experience of love you want to keep, you combine it with a pleasant physical feeling in the heart, for example. But if it is a hateful memory you want to hold onto, you link it with pain in the chest. However, just like a wall cannot contain the wind, it is impossible to fuse a body with an abstract feeling. Yet, it is possible to mentally blend physicality and psychology so that every time you feel a specific kind of love, you think you feel something nice in the heart. And every time you feel hatred towards someone, you sense something weird in the chest. In both cases, it is a mental experience based on the wish to extend psychological feeling by imaging it is linked with a physical experience.

Since you believe in feeling something in the heart or chest that is not there, you have a problem that cannot be addressed. That is until you split this psychosomatic disorder into an immaterial and material issue and deal with them on each term. Should this split-up seem difficult, you first perceive your reaction to the perceived issue in the chest as ‘it is what it is.’ This renders your response indefinable. Therefore, since the body is set free from your opinion, it can outline the physical part of the combo and heal it in agreement with physical laws.

However, it is best also to consult a health care professional to make sure there is no problem with the heart. But most likely, the problem is the muscles. They have tightened up to defend against your attempt to use the body to manifest non-physical issues. Lastly, a psychological feeling is only sticky when manipulated into oblivion or something lasting. Undoing the manipulation may at first seem feels like torture. No worries, as long as you do not edit the unpleasantness, it will not remain for long because the nature of psychological feelings is to pass when looked at where they are conceived. Unfortunately, most people do not want to wipe out the idea of a body-mind connection. On the contrary, they want to uphold their imagined union of immaterial and material issues as real so that they can extend specific emotions and thus remain forever young, for example. Should their extended emotions be questioned, they refer to the bodily symptoms they claim have been caused by the psychological issues.

You have excluded from your awareness what you do not like about yourself by imagining it is linked with the feeling of a vulnerable part of the body. Therefore, since your psychological issues seem hidden inside physical problems, you unconsciously resist healing the physical difficulties that you imagine are blended with psychological issues.

When you see a scary movie, and it is experienced as real, it is because it feels like fear builds up in your body. However, the film has no power to do that. What you sense in the body is purely physical. It is not caused by the events in the movie but by how you perceive them.

You perceive the events as scary because you have conditioned yourself to interpret certain scenarios like that. And to make fear real, you project on a body part that already is tense and seems to get tenser when you give it your attention. Thus it feels as if the movie affects your body.

Sometimes, it goes the other way around. For example, you have a stomach ache, but it does not add meaning to your life. So you imagine a psychological issue from your past causes the pain. Unfortunately, this perceived combination results in an incurable psychosomatic disorder – especially because the psychological part most likely is pieced together. Hence what needs healing is the belief that psychological and physical issues can be combined.

Projecting psychological feelings onto the body and expecting them to go away when the body is fixed is like placing those feelings in your smartphone, and thinking they to go away when the phone is repaired. No matter the material object you imagine to insert psychological feelings into, they remain in the psychological sphere. Hence it is there they must be dealt with.

You cannot avoid events that can be seen as sad, but you can refrain from perceiving them like that. This naturally occurs for the basic self,. Thus it has no need for special events to make it happy. Happiness is the essence of all experiences when one does not interpret itself to stand out as exceptional.

It does not rain because you feel sad, nor does the rain has the power to make you feel bad. That is unless you choose to perceive such a course and effect. Likewise, the body cannot make you feel sad, nor does feeling it makes the body bad unless you imagine such a connection.

Often parts of the body have been dematerialised to prevent the brain from processing their signals – the genital zone, for example, may have been dematerialised via tantra sex. Read more about sex here. Thus it seems you can replace the brain and decide that the signals from the abandoned areas are spiritual. But there is no spirituality in the body. On the contrary, the body is material. Therefore, it defends itself against the attempts to combine it with non-physical issues by turning it into a weapon against you.

Even though this feels sad, you accept it because the blockages further disrupt the natural flow of communication between the body and the brain. Hence you, not the brain, seem to be the boss of the body. However, it does not understand the thought-up vision of a body-mind-soul connection. So again, it attacks you by making the body suffer. So on it goes until you stop inflicting the body with childish ideas of spirituality.

Fortunately, it does not matter how abused your body is regarding applying Alexius’ Duality Hacks. They bring you into a state of not-knowing in which the slate is wiped clean. So when you return to the consciousness of being someone, the foolish ideas of a body-mind-soul connection are gone. Thus your body is happy, and since you appear to be in it, so are you.

Most do not feel and see the body as it is. Instead, they have a vision of what it will feel and look like in the future when they have succeeded in imposing their ideas of perfection upon it.

When you perceive your response to an experience as ‘I know what it is,’ it is based on a quick look at different points of view to see which one establishes you are in the know. The feeling of stress that this entails is not solved before you stop insisting ‘I know what it is,’ and instead perceive your response as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception requires no explanations that seem to confirm you are on top of it. Thus, you are at peace.

The fastest way to repair a psychosomatic disorder is to not perceive it as ‘I know what it is but ‘it is what it is.’ The first view is categorical, whereas the second one does not have a monocratic but dualistic approach. Hence the second view brings you in alignment with dualism, and since you are in a world of duality, this is the way to go if you want to feel complete.

Whatever is perceived in the psyche to affect the body or in the body to affect the psyche is made-up connections. Fortunately, they are undone when you perceive your reaction to the effect as ‘it is what it is.’ However, at first, you may feel empty when the idea of a body-mind connection goes down the drain. No worries. Soon you realise how laid-back life is in the absence of this fake unity.

Sometimes, the breath is held back to prevent pain in a problematic body area. This is not healthy, nor is pushing the breath through it. Both approaches imply you believe to be in control. But you would quickly die if you should remember to breathe.

The solution to this is not to let the breath be. This idea comes from the belief that you are in charge. The key is to step back so you are out of the way. This is done by perceiving the fear that your problem seems to cause as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals fear is not alone. It is complemented by confidence, defined by fear that outlines confidence.

In this interplay, called the duality flow, you feel complete, thus free. Therefore, since there is no attempt to interfere with the breath, it runs freely despite physical issues. Read more about the duality flow in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

The application of one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks reestablishes the connection between the body and the brain. Not by healing the body, though, but by undoing the foolish belief that you are connected with it. Hence it becomes like a coat that you wear. It follows you, but you are worlds apart.
