Where do Alexius’ Duality Hacks come from

Since Alexius hardly has read any scriptures or so-called spiritual books, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are not based on an existing religion or philosophy, nor are they meant to be a new religion or philosophy but to undo the belief in such concepts as well as anything else that requires more than one.

Hack #1-4 and #7 (see Alexius’ Duality Hacks) are deduced from Alexius’ ways of appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. The way to connect with the empty breath is deduced from his connection with it. Alexius did not initially connect with it as he advises in his non-teachings. It just came to him. Maybe so he could deduce a way for you to connect with it.

The way to hear or feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise, as described in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them and especially in Life has no secrets, is deduced from Alexius’ experience of hearing and feeling it. He started to hear and feel this echo of oneness in his youth. However, it was not via Aum or Sohang but devotion.

Still, it was not until much later he realised that hearing or feeling this echo of oneness is what those who constantly chant Aum or Sohang look for but never find because they expect something extraordinary. Yet having recognised it himself, it was not a problem to deduce a fast way of hearing or feeling the unpronounceable vibration that Aum or Sohang symbolises.

The ways to have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One in the form of light, music and nectar, as described in the previous article, The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them, Alexius heard about it in his youth. However, the speaker probably did not speak from personal experiences but second-hand knowledge as he only referred to others and ancient scriptures.

A guru, which means a teacher, is always deeply founded in the belief of being someone special in a world, where there seems to be more than one, because it requires more than one to teach somebody. In other words, a guru is no different from anybody else profiting on the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is one.

Guru is a Hindi word for teacher, and as such, it is deeply founded in the belief of being in a world where there seems to be more than one because it requires more than one to teach something. In other words, generally, a guru is no different from anybody else, profiting from the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

Anyhow Alexius soon had so many visions of light that he forgot to differentiate them. Thus he bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One). But, unfortunately, he cannot offer a technique for that because the Enlightenment of that which is On cannot be communicated since that requires more than one.

On the other hand, glimpses of Enlightenment can be shared. And since Alexius experience them continually, his guidance about them is not based on second-hand knowledge. Consequently, they may not be similar to what you hear from those interpreting old scriptures, as without the Enlightened of that which is One, you are bound to misinterpret them.

Since most seem to think Enlightenment is something you achieve, where after you are an Enlightened, amazing person, it is best to spell out that the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be achieved by anybody because to bid it welcome, you must be nobody. In other words, Alexius has not been Enlightened but momentarily stepped aside so that there was nothing but light sucking him through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. That is why he is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Most gurus do not talk about the Enlightenment of that which is One, but glimpses of it that they  experience while remaining conscious of being someone definitive. They often consider such experiences to come from the pineal gland. But the Enlightenment of that which is One, does not come from somewhere. That is why you must forget what and where you appear to be to welcome it.

Unfortunately, this does not apply to most others who talk about Enlightenment. What they say about it is not geared toward welcoming but fending it off. The old-school gurus may speak hazily about kundalini, supposedly mixing body and spirit so that you become full of bliss and wisdom. Newer gurus have speculative teachings about living in the now, realising the self or a higher purpose. Both approaches appeal to those who want their feelings of inferiority replaced with feelings of spiritual grandeur, so they seem acknowledged as someone special who is part of something higher.

Most belief systems are just a shared vocabulary for people feeling inferior, so they can hide their misery by sharing this vocabulary with like-minded ones.

But it requires more than one to merge with something, be full of light, live in the now, and realise the self. In other words, it is an experience geared toward a world where there seems to be more than one and has nothing to do with that which is One.

Any experience in a world where there seems to be more than one can turn into that which is One, provided you do not try to hold onto the experience as something specific, as there is no room for something definitive in the formlessness of oneness

The same applies to seeing, hearing, feeling or tasting glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. That is why Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings distinguish between the Enlightenment of that which is One and glimpses of it. The latter is, as already said, an experience or a state of being, thus part of a world where there seems to be more than one. But the Enlightenment of that which is One is not an experience, nor any being, because it takes more than one to be aware of something. In other words, it is not part of a world where there seems to be more than one. On the contrary, it erases all memories of more than one.

All ways lead to Rome, they say, but they forget to say that they also lead away from it. So do not count on the ways suggested by the gurus promising a hypothetical better life in the future, because only a world where there seems to be more than one has a future. And as reality is one perpetual present, it has no a future. Thus tomorrow is an illusion.

However, for those teaching kundalini, higher self, freedom in the now, and sunshine without rain, it does not seem to be a problem that no one ever gets it. On the contrary, that means their followers continue paying money, giving hugs or whatever the teacher requires to make both of you feel it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

Fortunately, this is not what Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are about. They offer nothing because you have never left oneness, thus not needing anything since it is formless, thus endless

What sort of external music resembles the internal harmonies

If you are used to the ethereal music that the inward-facing senses reveal when the outward ones are partly turned off, memories of these harmonies can be triggered when listening to external music from artists like Charalambides. Maybe Mozart’s inspiration to compose music came from sensing the ethereal harmonies inside him. That is not to say that his music sounds like ethereal harmonies, but the flow of it resembles the effortless elegance and beauty of ethereal harmonies. However, this does not apply when Mozart neglects the natural flow to reach a dramatic peak. There is no drama in ethereal harmonies because they accompany one perpetual present, which has no beginning and end, thus no drama.

Bells and similar sounds that do not add to something specific resemble inner ethereal music. But not in the monotonic way of the bells in the churches because ethereal music is non-structured harmonies.

The organic way contemporary electronic music moves without going anywhere, producing ambient textures that seem without a beginning or end, resembles the ethereal harmonies. It achieves this by using glitches, other sonic artefacts, slowed-played steel guitar, chimes and bells, and analogue or synth sounds mixed with piano loops. However, these effects result in a harder edge and a less transparent sound than the ethereal harmonies, which have a crystal clear but transparent sound with no sonic artefacts needed to produce spiciness. Actually, the inner music arises from not trying to achieve anything.

New-age music that sounds like dreamy symphonies of otherworldly states – Karunesh and Marsen Jules, for example – does not resemble ethereal harmonies because is not symphonic or anything else that suggests a progression in linear time. And it is not otherworldly because the world is an illusion since oneness is formless, thus endless.

When Alexius experiences the world of the outward-facing senses, he does not try to change it into the harmonies of the inward-facing senses. Instead, he goes with the music of the outward-facing senses. But he does not do it to drown out the inward-facing senses. However, appearing to be someone in an illusion, Alexius does not listen to music resembling the inner harmonies. Instead, he adjusts to the illusion and its music. He likes Editors and Philip Glass. And he loves Boleros from the 50s, especially Lucho Gatica and Los Panchos. He also likes the Danish singer Bjørn Fjæstad. And guitar virtuosos, such as Dean McPhee and Derek Gripper. The latter is a classical guitarist from Cape Town, specialising in the kora music of Mali. Alexius cannot stop listening to Beth Gibbons, especially in Górecki – Symphony No. 3. Also Josephine Foster, and recently, he discovered Adrianne Lenker.

Please be aware that although the inner music is impersonal, pointing out specific pieces with a similar vibe is personal. The list was made in 2015 and is far from complete. On Boomkat, you can also listen to Alexius’ favourite musicians, Lubomyr Melnyk and James Blackshaw. They are influenced by minimalist composers and European classical music, incorporating overtones, drones and repeating patterns. Drones, although, only in the case of James Blackshaw.

The ins and outs of the inward-facing senses

The empty breath is not a step toward something better because it is a state of not knowing. The same applies to the other duality hacks. Hence there is no way of seeing if they are the same. No worries. There is nobody to care about that in a state of not-knowing.

Alexius mainly experiences the world of the inward-facing senses and its glimpses of Enlightenment before falling asleep, giving the world of the outward-facing senses minimum attention, contrary to during the day when they get the most attention.

With eyes closed, Alexius is brought into a state of not-knowing, often with visual glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one that seems to swirl around the tip of his nose. He does not see his nose or anything physical and is not aware of how long time it last. But probably less than 30 minutes because the brain falls into a coma if there is nobody to confirm its thoughts of a world where there seems to be more than one (see the article Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one).

A state of not-knowing can be brought about the empty breath, glimpses of enlightenment, inclusiveness, pretending to be someone definitive, seeing symbols of life in the world or being alone together (see Alexius’ Duality Hacks). However, since it is a state of not-knowing we cannot know if the duality hacks bring about the same.

When he wakes up in the morning, he knows that a state of not-knowing, whether triggered by the empty breath or another duality hack, is the cure for believing in being someone definitive. Also, since the bliss of nothing came effortlessly without the help of thoughts and feelings, he knows they are not needed for the bliss of nothing, only for the suffering coming from the belief in something.

When the empty breath is in charge of the switch between the inward and outward-facing senses, there is neither inside nor outside.

When not focussing on something specific, the world of the outward-facing senses becomes blurry. Hence the world of the inward-facing senses opens up.

A NIGHT WITH BLISSFUL MOMENTS OF NOT-KNOWING
Laying in the bed with a sleep mask and ear plugs* plugged into Alexius’ ears, the transparent sound of the empty breath seems to transport him into worlds of light, where lucid universes unfold at an extreme speed or flowers open up in slow-mo until thoughts or feelings try to surface and sleep sets in. Going into a deep sleep, the visions of light are on and off, and when he wakes up early in the morning, they turn into ethereal harmonies.

It does not seem exciting to me anymore to travel in worlds of light. I am rather naturally attracted to leaving everything behind and as nothing sucked though a black hole into that which is one. It seems though, that I am to return in order to complete my non teachings. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

It seems like ages ago when Alexius enjoyed travelling in worlds of lucid light. Nowadays, he prefers not to see anything, thus as nothing falling through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. See the article The ins and out of a black hole.

That is a typical description from many years ago when the glimpses of Enlightenment were exciting journeys in enchanted worlds of light. Nowadays, Alexius does not care for such experiences, which are exciting because they, to some extent, are recognisable. Instead, he is drawn to visions of abstract nothingness. That is, until they swirl together around a so-called black hole, which is neither exciting nor relaxing. It just is.

The vibration that Aum or Sohang symbolises is another aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One that can be experienced through the inward-facing senses. In the case of Alexius, it pops up now and then during the day as a natural extension of the empty breath. The taste of the Enlightenment of that which is One also pops up – for example, when he writes about it. Read more about this in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.

The Enlightenment of that which is One is impersonal, but the vague memories of it is filtered by the personality. Since it cannot comprehed one perpetual present, the Enlightenment of that which is One is described as a personal experience in time and space. On the other hand, glimpses of enlightenment is solely a personal experience.

Eyes cannot see – they translate, or it is rather the brain that translate all the otherwise meaningless info it receives through the eyes according to how it is conditioned to see the world. If it receives info that does not fit into its image of the world, it twist it until it does. In other words, you have no idea about what is written in this article or what is in the world. If you acknowledge this you do not need to read my non teachings, because this acknowledgement bids welcome the enlightenment of that which is one. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The eyes cannot see – they translate, or rather it is the brain that translates the frequencies it claims to receive from the eyes. Therefore, since your brain has fabricated what you believe to be reading, you have no idea what it says. By acknowledging the Enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU READ HERE BECAUSE IT IS EDITED BY YOUR BRAIN
Be aware that the above is how Alexius experiences the world of the inward-facing senses when the world of the outward-facing senses gets less attention. But like you and he probably experience things differently in the world of the outward-facing senses, the same probably applies to the world of the inward-facing senses. And regarding the Enlightenment of that which is One, his vague memories of not being someone are most likely selective (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One).

In other words, the descriptions you get in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings of the Enlightenment of that which is One and its glimpses are not absolute. Besides, you are not reading this article, but your brain’s translation of it. Furthermore, you may have layered your interpretation of that on top of it. The night can be full of restless dreams, that seem very real, until Alexius quietly wakes up to the sound of ethereal music, that cancels out the confusion of the night, so that he full of clarity get out bed.

Neither is his experience the same every night. Some nights thoughts or emotions seem to take over and get him into the world of the outward-facing senses. No worries if that happens to you too. It is a great way to see that thoughts and emotions have no power and that it is unnecessary when there is no need to be someone.

If the the purpose of putting on a sleeping mask is to cancel out the ligt from the world of the outer senses, you will be in the light of the inner senses. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

If the reason for putting on a sleeping mask is to cancel out the light from the world of the outward-facing senses, there is lucid light coming from the world of the inward-facing senses.

ANYTHING INTERPRETED AS SPECIFIC ENDS THE TOUR OF THE INWARD-FACING SENSES
You cannot do something to be in the world of the inward-facing senses because achieving something only works in a tangible world. But for the same reason, you can do something to not experience the world of the outward-facing senses – for example, putting on a sleeping mask.

Best to forget all the descriptions from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings about the glimpses of enlightenment. Because you can only remember them by interpreting them as  something specific, and that cannot be replicated in the world of the inward-facing senses.

Suppose you remember the last time you travelled in incredible worlds of special coloured light, and you want more. In that case, you will not get it. >Because defining glimpses of Enlightenment, they lose their abstractness and become something tangible, thus an experience of the outward-facing senses. In other words, if you interpret the glimpses of the Enlightenment in the way you do in the world of the outward-facing senses, there are no more glimpses to experience.

When you completely turn off the outward-facing senses or are willing to do so, you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. No image can be shown of that because it cannot be experienced since that requires more than one. However, glimpses of Enlightenment can be experienced. One of the last ones you may have before they fuse into the Enlightenment of that which is One could look like a horse head. A black hole sometimes looks like just before there is nothing but the most intense light. Nobody knows if the light blasts out of the hole or into it because the light is so blinding that you cease to exist as someone definitive. That is why nothing is sucked into the black hole, which is not there anymore – just a gentle void transporting nobody into the formlessness of oneness. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

TO TURN OFF THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSES PARTIALLY OR TOTALLY
The easiest way to switch between the outward and inward-facing senses is to let the empty breath take care of it. See The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses. But until you are willing to choose, not to choose but to be guided by the empty breath, the below suggestion can be of help.

You turn off the outward-facing senses by not excluding unwanted thoughts and feelings but by including them. Since that leaves no contrast to define a tangible world, you are in the abstractness of the inward-facing senses. If the inclusion is partial, you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, and if it is total, there is not someone to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES ARE EQUALLY UNREAL
If you get the impression from reading Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings that the inward-facing senses are less deceptive than the outward ones, you have chosen to be deceived into believing that you can become better, higher or wiser by looking inside. If that is your purpose, the inward-facing senses will cause you as much suffering as the outer ones.

But if your purpose is to become nobody so that there is not somebody to hide the formlessness of oneness, the inward-facing senses will speed up the undoing of the belief in being someone in a world of something.


*) Alexius does not know if the Sleep Mask and Ear Protection Ear Plugs that he uses when going to sleep are the best for turning off the outward-facing senses and going into the world of the inner ones, but they seem to work for him.


NOTES:

Going back to the first moment of duality

You and the world is fabricated at the edge of a black hole, which you have imagined to be a way out of that which is one – and to make it appear as if you are right, you divide all the appearances of this fabrication by separating them into good and bad, so that it seems you are in a world, where there is more than that which is one.What you appear to be, was dreamed up at the edge of a black hole through which you believed to have escaped that which is One. This rebelliousness you continue in a world of duality, where you do not accept that everything comes in pairs of opposites. You fight this basic rule of duality by separating the constant interaction of opposing components into disconnected elements that do not support but fight each other, for example love an hate.

This explanation is, of course, as fictious as anything else in a world of duality, including Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. But since they do not claim to be real, reading them may expose everything experienced is unreal.

The inner senses are not limited by the ideas of time and space, so it is not a problem for them to pick the echo of that which is one coming from the beginning of the world, which also is the end of it.

The inward-facing senses are not limited by the ideas of time and space, so it is not a problem for them to pick up the echo of oneness coming from the beginning of the world.

THE HUMMING FROM THE EDGE OF THE UNIVERSE
Depending on your preference in the world of duality, the echo of non-duality is either experienced as a sound, feeling, light or taste coming from the edge of the universe – one at a time, though, as they are aspects of oneness. However, this article is mainly about hearing or feeling the echo of non-duality, often symbolised by Aum and Sohang.

As non-duality is formless, thus endless, it is everything. Thus the experience of more than one is an illusion.

When the outward-facing senses are partially closed, the inward-facing ones, which are not limited by time and space, can tune into the echo of non-duality, so you can hear or feel it. What you hear or feel, though, is not non-duality but a glimpse of it because non-duality cannot be experienced.

Non-duality is the absence of attention, awareness, consciousness, love or anything else that requires more than one.

If the outward-facing senses are entirely closed, a world defined by time and space cannot be experienced. Therefore, since there is nothing to prevent the abstract world of the inward-facing senses from completely taking over, there is not something that appears to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. But this is not the subject of this article. It is written within the context of time and space.

The edge of the universe can be heard, felt, tasted and seen, as if it is in yourself and not far away. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Feeling or hearing the humming from the edge of the universe, you do not perceive differences to make a difference. Therefore, you return to the origin of duality, where nothing seemed wrong. Hence every moment was the perfect moment.

You think you have escaped that which is one through an black hole looking a bit like an embryo into a world where there seems to be more than one. But it is a fantasy. It is not possible. There is no black hole, because there is no more than that which is one. IN THE BEGINNING, EVERYTHING SEEMED PERFECT
You escaped non-duality through a black hole you imagined seeing at the edge of non-duality. Everything seemed perfect until you looked for differences and discovered the fantasies about more than one kept coming out of the black hole. But you thought you could handle this disruption by pairing opposing elements into duality pairs.

However, there were not enough elements to complete your project. This made you so angry that your rage ignited an explosion in the black hole that made a world of your duality pairs in which you now spend all your time looking for the missing pieces.

Truth is that which is One. Consequently there is no truth in a world, where there seems to be more than one.

PERFECTION IS A FAIRYTALE
If you are a factual-minded person, you may ask, where are the facts behind the above explanation? But there are no facts because a world of duality is fake. Reality is non-duality since it is formless, thus endless. Therefore, the above is as made up as anything else in a world of duality. Nevertheless, Alexius’ little fable may remind you that non-duality is all there is.

If so, use the fable to return to the big bang coming out of a black hole, so you can be filled with glimpses of Enlightenment by keeping your inward-facing senses partially open. If wholly opened, the nothingness of you is sucked through a black hole into that which is One.

But please do not use the fable to prove that you are on the right track and that others are wrong. Also, do not try to adjust to the terminology of Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. They are not a belief system where you find the meaning of life. On the contrary, they undo the belief in being someone alive in a world of duality.

There is nothing to search for. Searching comes from the desire of more, and there is no more than that which is one.

Life has no secrets. It is impossible because it is that which is one, and it takes more than one to have something. So why do people look for the meaning of life? The answer lies in the previous sentence. Life is that which is One, so if you believe in being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, you are without life. In other words, even though the oneness of life makes it possible to experience a world where there seems to be more than one, it is not there – just like a physical body is not in a dream, regardless of being the host of it.

Though some like to think, that the word of god is something written, but there is nothing in the New Testament that indicates that. In fact the word of god can neither be written or spoken.

Some like to think, that The Word of God is something written in a book like The New Testament, although nothing in it indicates that. Actually, The Word of God can neither be written or spoken. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Unfortunately most of those reading the New Testament reckon that it is The Word of God. But as god is that which is One and it takes more than one to write or read, the New Testament has nothing to do with The Word of God.

However, an echo of life can be heard and felt in a world where there seems to be more than one. Christianity calls it The Word of God, and in Eastern religions, it is often symbolised by the words Aum and Sohang. You could say that the oneness of life sends out an echo of itself to call you home. The echo does not reveal oneness but what obscures it, namely the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one. That said, it is, of course, a metaphor that oneness is calling you home because you have never left it since it is formless, thus endless,

Nevertheless, this article is written within the context of the belief that it is possible to be and have more than one. Within this context, hearing or feeling the echo of oneness is a call to go home. However, the echo has no beginning and end, so it is not a word that can be written or spoken. But, fortunately, it is very easy to hear and feel, it.

No chanting or any other action like that is necessary to hear/feel the vibration, that is symbolized by the word Aum. It comes to you automatically, when you do not differentiate the sounds of the world but include them all. In other words, when you do not focus or concentrate.

No chanting or reading in scriptures is necessary to hear or feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. It comes to you automatically when the apparent difference of the vibes in the world is not perceived to make a difference, which they do not do if you do not exclude any of them as if there is more than one. In other words, when you do not focus or concentrate on something specific, you are not someone definitive, but the unpronounceable vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. THE VIBRATION THAT AUM, SOHANG OR THE WORD OF GOD SYMBOLISES IS …
… not a secret. Yet it appears hidden if you search for an elitist understanding rather than hearing or feeling the vibration, which can be heard or felt whenever you do not focus on hearing or feeling something specific.

When you hear or feel the unpronounceable echo of oneness, the sense of being someone definitive disappears. Thus there is nothing to transform.

For ages, people have been chanting Aum and Sohang or speculating about the meaning of The Word of God, assuming their secret would miraculously be revealed if they kept trying. But oneness does not make miracles or reveal anything because it takes more than one to do anything.

However, it only takes one chant of Aum or Sohang to hear or feel the echo of oneness. That is, if you do not look for peak experiences of an almighty god, love or something mysterious and sensational that can be mentally explained.

TO TUNE INTO HEARING THE ECHO OF ONENESS …
… you say AU very slowly, whereafter M almost hangs in the air as a whispering sound until it is replaced by a gentle humming from somewhere in the distance. That is the echo of oneness. If you feel like laughing, you heard it.

You can also get in touch with this distant humming by saying sohang – eventually combined with listening to the sound coming from the breath. Say SO when breathing in, and after a tiny break, say HANG when breathing out. The so is not important, except for tuning in. The same applies to the first part of HANG. After having said SO-HA(N), you remain on (A)NG at the end of breathing out. When it fades out, you hear the humming, the echo of oneness, in the silence.

Another way to hear the echo of oneness is to stop focusing on any sound in particular until you cannot distinguish the sounds you hear. Hence they turn into one sound, namely the echo of oneness.

You do not have to sit in a particular posture, repeat a mantra, chant, pray, wear unique clothes or be in a specific place with special people to hear the echo of oneness. Neither does there have to be stillness inside or outside of you. All you have to do is be devoted to what you do.

One of the first times Alexius sensed the humming from the edge of the universe, he was busy handing out flyers on a pedestrian street. He was so devoted to it that the noise of the road became a distant sound fusing into a humming, which, although distant, cancelled out the feeling of being there. It was like the sum of all feelings turned into a transparent one.

KNOWING IT IS THERE, IT IS EASIER TO CONNECT
When Alexius was a child, he liked the music from a radio station that was difficult to tune into because it was on a frequency between two noisy stations. But as he knew of its existence and where to look, he succeeded in tuning into it with much determination and the finest subtlety.

Likewise, since you now know it is possible to hear the humming of oneness from the edge of the universe regardless of the world’s noise, you can tune into it through devotion to your present activity or via Aum or Sohang. If there appears to be too much noise in the head, join it until it fuses into one sound.

TO FEEL THE ECHO OF ONENESS
Apart from hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you can also feel it – especially if you are more emotional than audio-minded. Just do the same as above but put more weight into feeling it. Feeling it can be compared to sensing your body purring like a cat, or like it trembles of fear but without fearing anything, or shaking of coldness but more lightly and not feeling cold or anything else specifically, or feeling the bubbling effect in the body from quickly drinking the foam of Coca-Cola.* In this case, the sensation is not limited to tingling in a specific part of the body. Furthermore, it can be compared to a subtle version of the sound coming from a vacuum cleaner, the ventilation in an airport, or from the edge of the breath (not the sound of breathing in or out, but at the edge of them).

When this gets more intense, it may feel like you are the vibration from an earthquake or a giant laundry machine on the spin cycle. It is felt in the body and outside of it as if there is no transition between the body and the appearances outside it. If you do not panic but go with its flow, you forget about the body and anything outside of it, so no memory seems to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely, the formlessness of oneness.

However, since this article is not about the formlessness of oneness but something that can be experienced, we continue our talk about the primordial vibration from the edge of the universe. Feeling or hearing it is the same – like two sides of the same coin. Nevertheless, it is not advisable to be devoted to both simultaneously but one at a time.

Alexius is more into hearing than feeling something, so it took him a long time to feel the echo of oneness. When he finally did – after several years – it was so intense that the belief in being someone specific was momentarily undone. Thus the echo of oneness had brought him into the Enlightenment of that which is One, where you do not feel anything as that takes more than one.

WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Some people complain that their neighbour is vacuuming while they meditate, but most likely, the neighbour is asleep. And it is not the sound of a vacuum cleaner they hear but the distant humming from the edge of the universe that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises. Awareness of the vibration can also be compared to hearing the distant sound of the air conditioning in a prominent place like an airport or a wave at the shore that never stops going up.

But since most look for an exceptional experience, they brush off something so simple as the gentle humming from the edge of the universe.

TO REMEMBER YOUR HOME
Already familiar with the humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you do not tune into it all the time if you still want to appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. But you may tune into it now and then to ensure you have not forgotten the key to the formlessness of oneness – just like you sometimes check your pocket to hear or feel if the key to your home is there.

ALEXIUS AND THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The above is Alexius’ way of communicating, how you can hear and feel an echo of oneness. Using Aum or Sohang as a stepping stone is not a new idea. But so far, it has mainly been promoted in mysterious ways by people who do not hear or feel it themselves but hope that if they repeat those words repeatedly, a miracle will happen. However, looking for that, they miss the gentle humming coming from the edge of the universe.

But it was not through the words Aum or Sohang that Alexius started to hear or feel the humming they symbolise. Since his teenage years, he has been used to being ‘lifted’ by this humming – for example, while watching a movie, having a walk with his parents or sitting all by himself in a park. And so, when he was about 40 years old, it suddenly dawned on him that this is what people try to reach when chanting Aum or Sohang.

However, it is not about reaching but tuning in. When Alexius can do it, so can you because even though you may appear different from him, what makes it possible for the two of you to experience that you are different is the same, namely the formlessness of oneness from where this humming comes

Those who hear or feel the humming from far away echoing oneness cannot use it to improve themselves or the world. But they will be used by it as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely that which is One. That does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. Nor does it mean they will cease to exist because they have never existed since there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which is One is real, it is impossible to be in a world where there is more than one. And yet, we appear to be in such a world. However, one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, like Alexius, does not believe but pretends to be there, like when playing a computer game. That is why his below description of the world standing still, for example, does not reflect reality but how Alexius experiences pretending to be where he is not. The same applies to listening to the echo of oneness or having other glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE WORLD STOOD STILL
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window, and everything was covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned everything white inside him while Donovan’s Jennifer Juniper was playing in the background.

He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. And the air, he perceived as so thin that there was no space between anything. Although music was coming out of his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of oneness.

Much later, on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and not so much later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around, it was like there was no movement and no people. He did not know what was going on, nor did he try to figure it out because when you hear the echo of oneness, you do not need more.

After being accustomed to hearing the echo of that which is One, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that people do not hear it because they expect those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding get, and neither is there any need for it when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise.

THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes amazing sounds. But you do not sense them when reading the word unless you have heard them before.

That is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. These words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But if you have not heard the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, they will not remind you of the distant sound you hear from a computer when your ear is close to it.

To be so close to the computer, you have to stop focusing on the world empowered on its screen. The same applies to hearing or feeling the distant echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. In other words, you must stop focusing on the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one to hear or feel the echo of oneness. You can read what it feels and sounds like here.

The echo of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one. It is the engine of that world but not in the sense that it produces it. That is not possible because it echoes that without a beginning or end. Hence it cannot create anything specific. But its energy is used to keep together the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one, although it is not there itself – just like the dreamer’s energy makes it possible to have a dream but not to manifest the dreamer in the dream.

The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to oneness.

Therefore, this primordial vibration is not for you if you dream about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief. It knows nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is nothing but that which cannot be experienced, namely, the formlessness of oneness.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it by hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise. Such glimpses you have when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.

But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The inward-facing senses reveal glimpses of Enlightenment when the outward-facing ones are partly closed. Thus they are not physically tangible. As long you experience the Enlightenment of that which is One in one of its aspects, you have glimpses of it. But if you stop perceiving one of these aspects as made of different elements, there is nothing to define you as an experiencer. Hence, since nobody experiences them, there is nothing but the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One).

REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy this definable world? There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses. If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through glasses of love. It is all make-believe, so you may as well pretend to be in wonderland. See hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation. Especially if you do it with the duality flow because then your wonderland is contrasted by sorrow, so you feel wonderful when you are sad. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

When the world experienced through the outward-facing senses is an illusion, one may conclude that the world experienced through the inward-facing senses is real. But what is real never ends, so both the inward and outward-facing senses are unreal because all their experiences have an end  – including glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with and a door that looks like a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and rapidly spiralling bright light around it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.

However, you do not reach oneness since the black hole has no end. Nonetheless, since you have the belief in being someone undone, you are what you always have been and will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. In other words, you have never been someone experiencing something.

The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them

The echo of that which is one, which often is symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God and which comes from the edge of the universe can be heard or felt right now via the inner senses, because they are not limited by time and space.

The echo of that which is One is often symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. It comes from the edge of the universe, but since the inward-facing senses are not limited by time and space, for them, it takes no time to go there to hear or feel the echo of oneness coming out of a black hole. See, Going back to the first moment of duality.

None of the facets of the Enlightenment of that which is One can be experienced because it requires more than one to be conscious of something. Thus when you think you have felt, seen, heard, or tasted it, it was not the Enlightenment of that which is One but glimpses of it. They are, like a movie trailer, only samples, thus not the Enlightenment of that which is One. This article is about how to experience those samples that can be felt, seen, heard, or tasted with the inward-facing senses while still in the world of the outward-facing senses.

Please be aware that the ways described below to have glimpses of Enlightenment will not work if you look forward to being or having more, as their function is to undo the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is one. However, this does not mean you must restrain yourself from getting more but not care about it.

THE ECHO OF ONENESS
As already implied, oneness cannot be revealed because it calls for more than one. However, when you keep feeling or hearing it echoing from the edge of the universe, the belief in a world defined by time and space is, eventually, undone. Hereafter, the belief does not appear to hide there never was or will be more than that which is one.

In other words, the more you ignore the world defined by time and space, produced by the outward-facing senses, the more a world not limited by time and space is experienced by the inward-facing senses. Without time and space, it takes no time to go to the edge of the universe (read more about that here), where the echo of oneness has been used to create a fantasy world of time and space which seems genuine until you feel or hear this primordial vibration, often symbolised by Aum, Sohang or The Word of God.

»With every exhalation the soul recites ‘Hang’ and with every inhalation it recites ‘So’. Thus every soul counts the mantra of Sohang (So plus Hang) twenty-one thousand and six-hundred times every day and night.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 84.

In Eastern religions the echo of oneness is symbolised by the word ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ and in the New Testament by ‘The Word of God’: »In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.

One who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One perceives ‘The Word’ in the above quote as a metaphor for the unpronounceable vibration you feel or hear when not totally focused on the world of the outward-facing senses. However, the unenlightened speculates about what exact words this qoute hints at, even though there is not a single verse in the Bible referring to ‘The Word of God’, as something that is written or can be spoken.

The vibration that AUM or Sohang symbolizes comes from the edge of the universe, which is only far away if you let yourself be deceived by a world defined by linear time as experienced through the outer senses.

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One come from a black hole at the edge of the universe. However, this is not far away when you ignore the outward-facing senses and their world defined by time and space but instead go with the inward-facing ones because they are not ruled by time and space. Thus you can feel. see, hear, or taste the glimpses regardless of where you appear in the world of the outward-facing senses.

A way to ignore the outward-facing senses so you can feel or hear the echo of oneness with the inward-facing senses is not to be exclusive but inclusive. When you include all that you feel or hear – or are willing to – the sum of it is felt or heard by the inward-facing senses. It feels or sounds like the humming of nothing and everything. THE THIRD EYE
Seeing glimpses of oneness is done via the inward-facing sense, often called the third eye, a single ‘eye’ in the middle of the two eyes above the two eyebrows.

»The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.« Matt 6:22, King James Bible. This makes much sense to one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One but obviously not to the unenlightened, because in the new international version of the New Testament this sentence has been changed to: »The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.«

The enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome by completely ignoring the outward-facing senses. First time this happened for Alexius was when he returned home totally exhausted after a long nights work of taxi driving and simply was too tired to focus.

In other words, to be offbeat, exhausted, confused or maybe even drunk is a way to forget the world ofthe outward-facing senses, so that there is no world to see, thus nothing to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. In fact anything that is not part of a scheme to fabricate images defined by time and space will do.

If that includes drugs Alexius does not know, because he has not experienced them. Yet he can say from looking at others taking drugs, that it seems to be more about expanding the consciousness of a world where there seems to be more than one than undoing it.

»Direct your eyes toward the middle of the eyebrows and meditate upon your own self. It is Shambhavi Mudra, the most secret practice of all the Tantra scriptures.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 59.

Practically speaking you can turn off the visual outward-facing sense and open the third eye by closing the eyes and lightly, without any concentration, hold a finger on the third eye. You can do it anywhere in any position. However, it is best to do in a dark room, so you do not think the revelation of light comes from the world of the outward-facing senses.

If something like this is dechiffered into different colors and forms, you will have glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one, but if you do not judge any colors or forms to be different from each other the apparent differences will explode into one bright light.

If having a vision like this and it is deciphered into an experience of different colours and shapes around a centre, it is a glimpse of ‘the Enlightenment of that which is One.’ But if you on the other hand do not judge the apparent different colours and forms to make a difference or to come from somewhere specific, one bright and colourless light, that seems to explode from out of nowhere wipes out all thoughts collected to shape you as somebody so that nobody gracefully falls into the formlessness of oneness.

Since the eyes always looks for the greatest contrast of light, your closed eyes automatically search the darkness until they move inwards and upwards towards the third eye from where they settle at a lightshow radiating at such speed that its colours hardly is perceived to differ.

»Touching eyeballs as a feather, lightness between them opens into the heart and there permeates the cosmos.« Sochanda Tantra, stanza 13.

If your eyes do not automatically move inwards and upwards into the area of the inward-facing senses above the eyebrows, you may help them by gently pressing the thumb and middle finger on the outer corner of the eyeballs and the middle finger on the third eye.

However, this is not really commendable, since even the slightest effort requires focus, and it is not focus but defocus that bids welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of it. Furthermore this may give you the impression that certain physical postures can open the third eye.

None of the inward-facing senses are reached via a specific posture or way of thinking. But deactivating the outward-facing senses can be achieved in this way, so if you find a specific technique that seems helpful regarding this by all means go for it. However, the fastest way to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to not know what and where you are.

A way to to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to use an eye massager such as RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression. Besides from turning off the outward-facing sense of seeing, the heat soften the eyes. And when they are relaxed, they do not focus. Hence they automatatically turn inwards and upwards to merge with the third eye.

»… and there shall be no light there, and they need no candle there, neither the light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light.« Rev. 22:5

When your eyes are so soft that they do not focus, there is nothing to prevent glimpses of Enlightenment to merge into one bright white light, namely the Enlightenment of that which is One. It extracts all thoughts, that you have stored making you appear as someone definitive, and leave them at the edge of what may look like a black hole, so there is nobody to experience the nothingness of you smoothly falling into the formlessness of oneness.

Enlightenment is not an out-of-the-body experience as it is not an experience, but its preliminary stage of bliss and compassion, which is connected to the world via the pineal gland, is an experience that is often perceived to be out-of-the-body.

The enlightenment of that which is one is not an out-of-body experience. It is not an experience at all. But its preliminary stages of bliss and compassion, which in the world probably is connected with the pineal gland, is something that may be felt as an out-of-body experience.

However, most are afraid of loosing their identity, so they settle for glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is like a blissful out-of-body experience – presumably linked to the pineal gland which appears to foster states like that.

If you are not tempted to stop at this bliss, but to go where someone definitive cannot go, namely into the Enlightenment of that which i One, it is not an out-of-body experience. On the contrary, there is no experience at all, nor consciousness, because to be awate of something requires more than one.

If you want to leave the Enlightenment of that which is One and be reshaped as someone definitive, you must recollect the thoughts, that was left at the edge of a black hole so you could enter it as nobody.

Returning from the Enlightenment of that which is One to a world where there seems to be more than one, you cannot know, you have been at the other side of a black hole, because you were not there and there is no other side, since there is no more than that which is one. In other words, the person you appear to be is not Enlightened. Yet, due to vague memories of that which is One, you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It is not possible though for somebody else to know, this. You will hardly grasp it yourself. But for sure you grasp, that a world where there seems to be more than one is not real.

The airy music you can experience with the inward-facing senses is full of ethereal harmonies, probably floating out of a black hole at the edge of the universe.

»I heard a sound from heaven like the sound of cascading waters and like the rumbling of loud thunder. The sound I heard was also like harpists playing on their harps.« Revelation 14:2, Holman Christian Standard Bible.

Being used to take a ride in the world of the inward-facing senses, that opens up when the outward-facing senses are not fully activated to experience a world defined by time and space, you sense the first sentence of this quote refers to ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God,’ and that the second one to ethereal music.

»At midnight when not a single sound is heard, close your ears with both hands and do Purak Pranayama. Listen to the sounds in your right ear which are very pleasant. The first sound that you will hear is of a pine bird, the second of a flute, third of a cloud, fourth of a dragon bee, the fifth of a ringing bell and then of a gong of metal. Sounds of trumpet, drum etc. are also heard.

Except for having scim read The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita Alexius have not read religious scripts. Therefore, most of the words in the quote from Gherand Samhita are meaningless to him. Besides these, many other sounds are heard if it is practiced daily. These sounds are Anahata (unproduced) and come on their own accord. Nada is related to light. Light is related to mind, so mind gets itself merged in a sound which is the seat of the Lord. Therefore, practice of Bhramari gives Siddhi of Samadhi (i.e., makes Samadhi possible).

Mind gets eightfold more pleasure in the act of meditation than Japa (repeating God’s name), eightfold more interest in Tapas (penance) than the meditation, and eightfold more interest in music or sound than the Tapas. There is nothing greater than music.« Gherand Samhita, stanzas 77-81. Besides for the word ´Nada´ meaning music Alexius does not know the meaning of the Hindi words in this quote, but hearing music inside him – though not so bombastic as described in this quote – he gets the overall meaning of it.

Using noise-cancelling headphones is a great way to close off the outward-facing sense of hearing. Alexius prefers in-ear headphones, though, as they can also be used when going to bed.

A practical way to stop hearing the world of the outward-fencing senses and start listening to the music of the inward-fencing ones is to put both thumbs in your ears or use noise-cancelling headphones or in-ear headphones. Then without focusing or trying to define anything, be nothing but the ethereal music coming to you from what may seem far away.

For tuning in, it is best not to go with the sounds from the left ear. They often come from a busy mind. So instead, follow the harmonies that appear to come from an empty space a bit outside of the right ear. That said, do not pay too much attention to directions.

Maybe you will not hear ethereal harmonies immediately but the humming symbolised by ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God.’ If so, go with that glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It could also be that you ‘hear’ thoughts. But they will not disturb you from hearing eternal harmonies if that is what you want – nor from having visions of light, infinite sweetness or sublime intimacy.

Tasting the sweetness of oneness helps you not to focus on the world of the outward-facing senses. Since this eventually results in not perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference, there is not something specific to hide that which is One.

THE TASTE OF ONENESS
The taste of oneness can be compared to the transparent taste of the foam on a milkshake with a few drops of honey and maybe a hint of either liquorice, strawberry, or mint. It can also be compared to how marshmallows – especially those with a flavour of strawberries – interact with the palate.

Some Chinese Herb Formulations or teas – for example Spring Dragon Longevity Tea – enhance the taste of oneness, provided you already are in touch with it. The same applies to the Ayurvedic teas, that Alexius have tasted that include liquorice.

But it is best not to compare the taste of oneness or other glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One to anything else, as all comparisons are based on definitions from the past, thus cancelling out the ever-present glimpses of Enlightenment.

»Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never be thirsty, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him as a well of water springing up into everlasting life.« John 4:10-4:14.

Even though this taste is called the nectar of life in some scriptures, you should not expect it to make you younger or inject you with more energy in the world of the outward-facing senses. Getting more is an illusion based on the belief that there is more than that which is One.

One way of undoing this belief is not to focus because without it, the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one become blurred. Thus different appearances do not seem to hide, there is no more than the formlessness of oneness. Fortunately, the side-effect of the technique for the taste of oneness is defocusing.

The inner sense of taste not only stops the compulsive focusing on forms but also your cravings for sweets and to experience  something definable. The taste of life is always there and it is free. Neither do you have to meditate or be pure to consume it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula. And if you cannot do that, it is also OK, because doing so is just meant to help you deactivating the outer senses and the only thing that really accomplish that, is the intention to do it. Just like even you are at a springboard, you will not dive from it, if that is not your intention of going there.

The inward fasing sense of taste does not only diminish the compulsive focusing on something definitive but also your cravings for more, for example sweets. This taste is always there. It is free, and you do not have to meditate or be pure to enjoy it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula and devote yourself to the taste of oneness. If you cannot get your tongue all the way, it is not a problem. Doing so is meant to help you deactivating the outward-facing senses and the only thing that really accomplish this, is the intention of doing that. In other words, reaching the uvula with your tongue is good enough. Actually, when you hold the underneath of your tongue on the soft area beneath the uvula you feel the empty breath (see What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?) and get the sweet taste of oneness. This is not a metaphor, nor second-hand knowledge but Alexius’ experience from tasting the subleness of oneness on both sides of the uvula. As a result of this technique, the empty breath is activated. It expands the breathing, which makes the the body feel glorious. And the soft taste of oneness prevents you from focusing on the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you feel absorded by the happiness of abstractness.

The taste of oneness unfolds under the tongue, when it is moved behind the uvula (the skin flap hanging down in the back of the mouth at the entrance to the throat). Placing it there makes you feel like you are not in the world even though you appear there. Besides it cutbacks the need to focus on the world of the outward–facing senses and also the longing for more, especially the craving for sweets. That is if you devote yourself to it – no techniques work without devotion. Yet devotion can work without a technique.

To get the tongue behind the uvula you may have to press it backwards for a long time, maybe for months, and finally use a finger to push it the rest of the way. However, this may make you feel as if you are about to vomit. No worries – it is just a feeling. When you are used to keeping your tongue there, it is easy, and there is no sense of vomiting.

»Khechari Mudra is turning the tongue backwards into the cavity of the cranium and turning the eyes inwards toward the eyebrow center.« Haha-Yoga Pradipika, Chapter 3, stanzas 32-37.

To taste the sweetness of oneness, called Khechari Mudray in the above quote, you do not have to literally replicate the ancient technique. Neither do you have to push the tongue behind the uvula as Alexius wrote above. Reaching the soft area underneath the front of the uvula with the backside of the tongue will do. See also the explanation in the above caption.

THERE IS NO WAY TO THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
You do not welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or samples of its four facets by becoming purer. Neither by breathing wholly, eating healthy or anything else you can do in the world of the outward-facing senses. Still, things like that may help deactivate the outward-facing senses.

However, no technique can do that if it is not the intention of executing it. In other words, the first step is solely about purpose. If that is to deactivate the outward-facing senses, many techniques may work. The second step is to devote yourself to the lucid journey in the world of the inward-facing senses.

These steps only apply to having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and not to welcome in its entirety, as it takes more than one to take any step.

The part of the world of the outer senses you want to experience is not meant to be blurry but in focus, so what you see is definable. It is the other way around with the world of the inner senses,. In other words, the two worlds does in most cases not work well together. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

The part of the world of the outward-facing senses you want to experience is not supposed to be blurry. It must be in focus to make the experience definable. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. Your experiences there are abstract. Hence mixing the two worlds does not work out.

DAILY LIFE WITH GLIMPSES OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
It is probably best not to be active in the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. That is because the visual glimpses of Enlightenment can become so intense that the world of the outward-facing senses is hardly sensed.

However, if the technique for tasting the sweetness of oneness is only used for defocusing, it can be carried out all the time while being active in the world of the outward-facing senses. And you can enjoy the ethereal harmonies if you do it without putting your thumbs in the ears and not too long at a time. That also applies to hearing or feeling the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. See Life has no secrets.

The result is the experience of a world less defined. Not to the extent, though, that you cannot move around but that you feel you are carried around.

That is, as long as you do not take the full tour of these glimpses because after 20 minutes, 45 at most, it ends with the Enlightenment of that which is One. Thus you no longer experience being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, nor in oneness since that requires more than one. You are not someone at all, so there is no memory or consciousness of ever having believed that. Instead, there is what always has been and will be, namely that which is one.

The Hebrew word Elohim was originally a symbol for one perpetual present.

The word god, which is a translation of the Hebrew word Elohim, was at first meant to be a metaphor for that which is one and never ends. Hence the word god was originally a symbol for one perpetual present. Maybe because that is not understandable, when you believe to be in a world of linear time, the meaning of the word gradually changed, so that god became a symbol for one almighty force believed to have created the world defined by time and space in its own image.

But what is not definable cannot create something definable. Hence a world defined by time and space is an illusion and so is the perceived creator of that world.

APPENDIX ABOUT THE QUOTES
The terminology of yoga and scriptures – apart from The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita – is unknown to Alexius. So he does not know the scriptures quoted above. He found the quotes by searching the internet.

When everything is included, there does not appear to be something outside you. Consequently, nor inside, as that requires something outside you. Hence there is nothing but the formlessness of oneness.

Alexius does not side with Eastern or Western religions or new-age philosophy. Generally, they exclude what they judge as wrong by projecting it onto non-believers to make them tainted and themselves pure. Yoga, for example, is often based on meditation, where you must exclude something deemed evil to become pure, thus able to return to oneness. But that which is One is formless, thus endless, so you can neither add nor subtract from it. If you try to do that, you enhance the belief that there is more than that which is One.

The inward and outward-facing senses, the Enlightenment and its glimpses

Inner visions of light of anything at all is not the enlightenment of that which is one, as it takes more than one to have a vision. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

It takes more than one to have a vision, so no matter how impressive it may be, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but a glimpse of it. It is comparable to a movie trailer, a sample of the whole, thus not undivided.

The world of the outward-facing senses is experienced via seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting/smelling something that appears material. The world of the inward-facing senses can also be seen, heard, felt and tasted. However, you do not get a sense of something tangible but abstract. It is also here that you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It comes through a hole that sometimes seems black. See the article The ins and outs of a black hole. But following the light into it is the end of both the outward and inward-facing senses. Hence the experience of something is over. Therefore, if you are aware of something, you are not in the Enlightenment of that which is One. Instead, you are in the world of something where you, via the inward-facing senses, have glimpses of Enlightenment while also noticing the world of the outward-facing senses.

If you for a moment forget what and where you are you are, the world of something does not appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.

You get into the Enlightenment of that which is One when its glimpses are not perceived to differ because then there is no separation to define you as someone definitive. Hence there is nobody to prevent the construction of thoughts that have replaced the formlessness of oneness with something specific being extracted by an exceptionally bright white light. Nor is there somebody to be aware that there is nobody. Consequently, nothing gracefully falls through a black hole that is no more because there is no experience to hide the formlessness of oneness.

Therefore, since what you believe in being has not been Enlightened, you appear to be the same if returning to the experience of being someone definitive. However, you do not believe this experience is real due to vague memories of formlessness. Hence you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.


Since the Enlightenment of that which is One has no beginning and end, someone definitive cannot experience it. But glimpses of it – for example, travelling through lucid worlds of light – have a beginning and an end, so they can be experienced. This is done through the inward-facing senses, when the outward ones are toned down.

The outward and inward-facing senses
The outward-facing senses are geared to experience a world perceived as outside you, thus separated from you, whereas the inward-facing senses help you experience a world that does not seem separated from you. However, that does not mean it is inside you. There is neither anything inside nor outside of you, as that requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

It is the same within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, because, scientifically speaking, it consists of empty space. Therefore, what you experience is make-believe – also reading that it may be easier to undo this deception by turning down the volume of the outward-facing senses, and turning up the volume of the inner ones.

If you seem to see an E here, you are using the E, you have made in your mind, to hide all the empty space.

If you believe in seeing an ‘E’ here, you focus on seeing something recognisable to join the brain’s remodelling of empty space into something. The empty space is not the formlessness of oneness, but not when you do not interpret it as something, there do not seem to be substantial elements hiding the formlessness of oneness.

PARTIAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES RESULTS IN GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT
If you do not constantly focus on something specific, the outward-facing senses cannot fabricate the experiences of a world defined by time and space. Therefore, the more you defocus, the more the definable world of the outward-facing senses is complemented by the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. Thus you get glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One: light shows if you are visual-minded, ethereal music if you are auditory-minded, and flavours or feelings if you are emotional-minded.

In the article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them, you can read how to see, hear, feel and taste glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is One.

Just welcome the glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One that comes your way. But do not try to hang onto a specific glimpse or have it repeated. And it changes into another aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One, go with that without trying to mix them.

These glimpses, as already noted, are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because it has no room for someone being conscious of something since that requires more than one. That does not mean what you believe in being is transformed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Instead, it is dismissed as an illusion.

Practically speaking, it might be best to downplay the visual glimpses of Enlightenment in daily life. That is because you will have difficulty navigating the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. But in most cases, you can safely go with glimpses of hearing, feeling or tasting the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The purpose of the inward-facing senses is to draw you into their abstract world, thus undoing the belief of being someone definitive – like a moth cannot help but follow its attraction to the flame, even though it is going to end of it.

Much devotion to the world of the inward-facing senses probably makes you spaced out in the world of the outward-facing senses. Yet, if you do not have to be present there, you can go with the flow of the inward-facing senses, as if the world outside you stands still. But suppose you have to do something demanding in the world of the outward-facing senses. In that case, it is best to mostly devote yourself to the outward-facing senses, so the abstractness of the inward-facing senses does not space you out.

NOT FOCUSING ON THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
As mentioned above, the more you defocus, the more the inward-facing senses take over. In the case of the Enlightenment of that which is One they do that entirely, and for having glimpses of Enlightenment, they do it partly. If you want to experience daily life in the world of the outward-fencing senses through the inward-facing senses, they are only used to the extent that you still can function as someone in the world of the outward-fencing senses. In other words, you do not have glimpses of Enlightenment, but you have an enjoyable experience of doing things in the world of the outward-fencing senses.

But you do not tone down the outward-facing senses if you want to escape them because you enhance what you try to escape psychologically. On the other hand, the more you wish to get close to reality, the more the outward-facing senses fade out because the inward-facing senses are much closer to the reality of that which is One. However, do not mistake them for reality. Instead, enjoy them taking you there.

Of course, this is a metaphor. You can never return to oneness because you never left it since that takes more than one. Therefore, you are not taken anywhere, but the belief in being somewhere is taken away, so nothing seems to hide that which is One.

HIGHWAY ONE
What you appear to be in a world where there seems to be more than one is a creation of the brain, governed by it. You have no free will but to perceive its arrangements in your way. However, this does not mean you cannot choose to go right or left, for example. But whatever you choose, the subsequent actions are premade by the brain – just like in a computer game where every step is programmed. In other words, if you choose to have the outward and inward-facing senses synced, the brain has a plan for that, namely, to take you on a journey without distance.

Thus you are on Highway One, which has no direction, and since you are going nowhere, eventually, you realise it has always been the case. Consequently, the belief in having left that which is One is undone. In other words, you are not a puppet of the brain anymore and never were because a world where there seems to be more than one is not real, as oneness is formless, thus endless. However, since we still appear as somebody in a world with more than one, we continue within that context below.

The body’s healing caused by partly being devoted to the inward-facing senses is a side effect that helps you not worry about its appearance and inevitable end.

THE INWARD-FACING SENSES AND THE BODY
Devotion to the inward-facing senses will heal your body because it gives the body the peace it needs to heal itself. That may not include genetically caused diseases.

However, due to the tranquillity of the inward-facing, a genetically created condition does not generate fear. Thus it is easier to deal with (see hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues).

But suppose the body’s well-being is the purpose of devoting yourself to the inward-facing senses. Since that means you focus on something specific, you do not enter the world of the inward-facing senses, so the body is not being nurtured by it.

TOTAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES BIDS WELCOME THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
Complete devotion to the inward-facing senses welcomes the Enlightenment of that which is One, which immediately erases all memories of you being someone. Since that means you are not there anymore and never were, nobody knows how long this takes. Besides, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not a process but one perpetual present.

But at first, it may seem to be a process, and as long as that is the case, the brain that produced your experiences as someone is still operating. Thus it can be rebooted and recreate the experience of you as someone definitive. But since it takes more than one to be anything, the reestablished experience cannot contain the Enlightenment of that which is One. So although you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, you look the same. The only difference is that you know it is not you.

However, as soon as the Enlightenment of that which is One does not seem to be a process, the brain cannot be rebooted and, therefore, not produce the experience of you as a substantial being in a tangible world. Hence there is nothing to hide that which always has been and always will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. There is, of course, nobody to be aware of this since it takes more than one to be conscious of something.

A perfect moment with glimpses of enlightenment is something you are aware of. If you stop being aware of it, you cannot see any glimpse. There is nothing and that is where the enlightenment of that which is one sets in. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Depending on how much you use the inward-facing senses to perceive your experiences in the world of the outward-fencing senses, you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, its glimpses or simply have a pleasant day. The Enlightenment erases all experiences, so there is nothing to sense, not even that which is One, since it takes more than one to be aware of something. Having its glimpses, you notice the world of the outward-fencing senses, but it does not mean much to you. But just using the inward-facing senses a little, there are no glimpses of Enlightenment, and you are much aware of the world of the outward-facing senses. However, it looks friendlier, and you feel more relaxed..

IS THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE REQUIRED TO UNDO THE BELIEF IN BEING SOMEONE?
The Enlightenment of that which is One can be said to be the last step back to the formlessness of oneness. But as formlessness is endless, you have never left it. Thus it is not about going back but realise how you hide the formlessness of oneness by believing in being definitive.

As already mentioned, the Enlightenment of that which is One undoes that belief in a split second. However, this can also be achieved while enjoying the world of the outward-facing senses. In the below box, there are some suggestions on how to do this:

The more you perceive the apparent differences in the world of the outward-facing senses to not make a difference, the more the outward-facing senses function as a set-off to that which is One (hack #3.1 Inclusiveness is freedom).

The same applies to pretending to be definitive (hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or seeing symbols of life in the world (hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness).

And it also applies to being alone together, which does not mean that you are together with one or more who also are alone, but that you are alone together with your fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one, no matter how many there seem to be around you (hack #7.1 Alone together, we go home).

The empty breath (HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss) syncs the outward-facing senses with the inward-facing ones, so you over time are able to devote yourself so much to the glimpses of Enlightenment that they do not seem separated, wherefore the Enlightenment of that which is One sets in.

You do not even need Alexius’ Duality Hacks to have the belief in being someone undone. All that is necessary is not to remember what and where you are because then the belief in being someone definitive does not appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.


Since multitasking allows you to experience both love and hate emotions simultaneously, hate is as blissful as love. Furthermore, multitasking disturbs the brain, making it harder for it to focus on something specific, thus undoing the belief in being someone definitive.

The reason that so many avoid multitasking is that it leaves them no time to suppress hate so they can uphold their perfect image of love. But since love cannot be defined without hate, their perfect love is fake. Thus they are not full of love but shit. However, not suppressing hate, your love is defined by hatred and vice versa. Therefore when you feel hate, there is also love. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Here the world of the inner senses are about to shift to bright white light, which is gonna extract all the info you have collected in order to appear as somebody and leave it at the edge at a black hole so that there is nobody to fall into the nothingness of that which is one. This is not compatible with appearing in a world, where there seems to be more than one, so if that is what you want, you better make sure the info making up your personality is not extracted or you know where to find it again. This image could illustrate the last glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One before you give up being aware of something. There is no transition from having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and being sucked into it. And since it is one perpetual present, you do not know when it extracts all your thoughts about being someone so that nobody is sucked into a black hole, and it gracefully falls into that which One. It is incompatible with appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, so if you want to continue like that, you better stop the extraction of thoughts. You can do that, for example, by fearing to disappear because it takes more than one to fear something. Thus you immediately appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

WHERE DO GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT COME FROM
Physically speaking, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One seem to originate from a non-defined space behind the frequencies of thoughts near the pineal gland. It is probably also from there that you perceive the world when you are in a state of not-knowing.

The same applies when you pretend to be a person or perceive everything in the world as symbols of oneness. The empty breath – sounding like sohang – is presumably picked up from there as well, physically speaking.

Furthermore, the pineal gland might work as a receiver for signals picked up by the eighth chakra above the head. Maybe the pineal gland or the eighth chakra is involved when experiencing glimpses of Enlightenment. You cannot know because you are blown out of the experience – and afterwards, you do not know where to look. And this is fine because focusing on the pineal will not bring about any of the above. It contracts the energy, so you feel boxed in as someone definitive. On the other hand, defocusing removes restrictions wherefore, you do not feel limited to being someone specific.

Notes on ‘The Enlightenment of that which is One’ and glimpses of it

The outward-facing senses create such expressive images that we choose to believe a world where everything is separated by time and space are real. However, when the outward-facing senses are entirely turned off, there is no time and space. Hence nothing to hide that the abstractness of the inward-facing senses flows straight into an explosion coming out of a black hole or maybe into it. There is no way to know which way it is because this is the Enlightenment of that which is One, and it takes more than one to be aware of something.

Also, an explosion may not be the best word to describe it because there is nothing but empty space carrying the nothingness of you into the formlessness of oneness. Yet, this is neither correct because nothing happens. It is not necessary. You have never left oneness, as it is formless, thus endless.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Although oneness is endless, it does not last forever. On the contrary, it lasts no time because it is one perpetual present. However, this never-ending story cannot be told in a world defined by time and space. So if you want to hear it, you must leave the belief that time and space are real. However, without this belief, there is nothing specific to hear. That is why you are the story of one perpetual present.

But reading this article, you believe in being someone in a world defined by time and space in which everything, like Lego bricks, seems layered in levels of something different. Within this context, it also appears as if there are levels of turning off the outward-facing senses, thus being more or less in the world of the inward-facing senses with glimpses of Enlightenment.

Depending on the strength of the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, it is like momentarily dying from the world of the outward-facing senses. So if you are occupied by something there, it can be disconcerting.

The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be seen. That is why it appears hidden as long as you look for something.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, it is a basic instinct to separate oneself from reality by fabricating a make-believe world – a child, for example, prefers to believe that Christmas presents come from Santa Claus, although he does not seem very realistic. And grown-ups like to believe that being someone is real.

However, these glimpses are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because there are no levels in that which is One. Nonetheless, the glimpses of Enlightenment slowly but surely undo the belief in differences, so someday you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One. And since it is timeless, it takes no time to have any leftovers of the belief in separation undone.

If you, after having bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, return to a world defined by time and space, it will be as someone definitive without the formlessness of oneness. Still, you have vague memories of it, which is enough to know there is no more than that which is One. And since it takes more than one to be aware of something, all experiences are seen as fake.

To sum up: When partially turning off the outward-facing senses, the inward-facing senses is only partly triggered, so you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is an experience going on while still aware of the world of the outward-facing senses.

These glimpses can be compared to watching a movie trailer. But then again, it is not really so because both the trailer and the film are something you experience. And the Enlightenment of that which is One, bid welcome by completely turning off the inward-facing senses, cannot be experienced, as that requires more than one.

Glimpses of Enlightenment, which many mistakes for the Enlightenment of that which is One, may leave you with the impression that it is possible to fuse heaven and earth, thus creating a better world. But neither dictators, rich people, political or so-called spiritual-minded persons have ever succeeded in creating a world like they think it should be.

Instead of acknowledging this, most who have had one or more glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One start teaching others how to make the world better. They put together a new philosophy based on their interpretation of one or more glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, mixed up with speculative ideas about spirituality and maybe ancient meditation traditions and whatnot.

For example, they may encourage not being conditioned so that you can be free in the present moment. But the experience of that or anything else is based on the conditioned belief that you are someone defined by time and space. However, it is not a fact, but an idea, that you blindly follow. You choose that to establish you are someone definitive in a world defined by time and space instead of the formlessness of oneness.

Mixing things may work well for you in a world defined by time and space. But not in the formlessness of oneness. Since blending something requires more than one, it is impossible to mix anything, so combining the different facets of the Enlightenment of that which is one fences it off.

That said, if you do not do the taste of life technique for the sake of the taste but for its benefits regarding defocusing, you can do this while being devoted to either seeing, hearing or feeling glimpses of Enlightenment.

This image of the same mountain, as in the other pictures in this article, again shows that you can have many different glimpses of it and that they are all coloured by the one having the glimpses. However, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not coloured by the one experiencing. It is impossible to do that since it would require more than one. In other words, there is nothing personal about the Enlightenment of that which is One. If you perceive somebody to cheat or reject you or something else judged as unfair and acknowledge you are mistaken, you set yourself and others free from being defined. It is in your best interest to set everybody free, even though you think not everyone deserves it. Setting yourself and others free, the world of the outward-facing senses fades out. Hence the door opens to the world of the inward-facing senses, and you have glimpses of Enlightenment of that which is One.

You do not find the Enlightenment of that which is One like you find other things in a world defined by time and space. But when you do not try to find anything, there is not something to hide it.

When you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is one, it is like being transported in a driverless car that is programmed to take you to your favourite spot. There you carelessly forget to define the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one, so they merge into one bright light, tone, emotion or taste that absorbs everything definable and carries the nothingness of you back into the formlessness of oneness.

Enlightenment and the glimpses of it are in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings described in a certain way. But elsewhere, it may be described in another way – just like two persons often describe the same cup of coffee differently.

So do not wait for the Enlightenment of that which is One, or the glimpses of it, to be revealed precisely as described in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. In other words, trying to extract a specific way to the Enlightenment of that which is One or its glimpses from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, will not help you. It is better to forget all words about it and thrust the light, sound, feeling, or taste of the Enlightenment of that which is One to do its thing when you partly are willing not to be someone definitive.

You will have no more than one glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One if you use your interpretation of this glimpse to promote yourself as someone with a vision for a better future full of love or whatever you imagine will make you appear important.

When there is no need to use glimpses of Enlightenment to save the world but rather to undo the belief in it, you are set free to be used by the glimpses. Hence they keep coming until you cannot tell them apart, wherefore there is not something definable to experience, thus nothing to hide the formless Enlightenment of that which is One.

In a dream, there is no way to prove it is unreal because there is nothing real in it. Regardless of the distances and the different persons in a dream, there are no distances and no differences. Everything in the dream plays out in the dreamer, although none of it is there or anywhere else. The same applies to what experience when awake, except that nobody experiences it.

Metaphorically the Enlightenment of that which is One is a moment that starts in a dream of something. Yet, at the same moment, the dream is over. But since you were not in the dream, nobody is awakened with a new consciousness. On the contrary, there is no awareness of you ever having been someone in a world of something. There is just one bright light – so intense that there is nothing to see and nothing to be.

The light sucks what has been stripped free of the belief in something through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. That is, if there are no leftovers of the belief in something. In that case, you think the Enlightenment of that which is One is something, thus getting back into the world of something.

Therefore, those who talk about their exciting experiences of Enlightenment have not, as nothing, been sucked through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. They held onto their belief in something to fence off the Enlightenment of that which is One and instead have glimpses of it. They can be experienced as something you see, hear, feel or taste. However, since it requires more than one to experience something, the glimpses are not the Enlightenment of that which is One.

For someone who is fed up with the experience of something, it is frustrating only to have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. But for those who love to experience something, it is perfect because the glimpses can be used to pump up lecturing or writing books about the experience of a vast empty space full of pure love, consciousness, bliss, or something else, that makes them appear to have something better than others. Having something, though, has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One because it takes more than one to have something.

Someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One never asks, »who am I?«because there is no more than that which is One, thus not a world where there seems to be more than one. Consequently, someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One has no need for communities, discussions, so-called interesting exchanges or dialogues, sending love or anything else to make it appear as if there is more than one.

There are no degrees of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It cannot be smaller or bigger because oneness is formless. However, in a world where there seems to be more than one, there are degrees of everything. That is why you can experience glimpses of Enlightenment on many levels depending on how much the outward-facing senses are turned off. ‘The Enlightenment of that which is One’ and glimpses of it

There are specific steps to follow when you want something in a world where there seems to be more than one. But there are no steps to follow to undo the belief that you are in such a world. On the contrary, believing there is, enhances the belief that a world where there seems to be more than one is real. Thus it continues to hide what is real, namely that which is One. THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT:
In the world of the inward-facing
senses, the Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of it is available for you regardless of the body’s state, how and where it is positioned and if you know anything about Enlightenment at all. It is merely a matter of not focusing on being someone definitive. The less focus, the less the substantial world of the outward-facing senses blocks the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.

Hence glimpses of Enlightenment can be experienced as visions of light, ethereal harmonies, a shivering feeling of total emptiness or a taste of sweetness. But to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, you must completely forget the outward-facing senses.

However, like a movie trailer is not the movie, the glimpses of Enlightenment are not the Enlightenment of that which is One. But unlike a movie trailer which does not contain the whole film, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One has it all. But you do not get it before you stop distinguishing the glimpses, so they no longer differ, and you, therefore, have nothing to experience. Then without any transition, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in and the awareness of a world where there seems to be more than one is gone.

As it takes more than one to be aware of something, it is impossible to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One while being conscious of something.

But you are aware that the Enlightenment of that which is One will terminate your consciousness abruptly and completely because you sense the nothingness of you has been sucked into a black hole where you keep falling into the formlessness of oneness. So if you want to hold onto being someone, somewhere, thus scared of formlessness, you stop the fall by defining it. Since that requires more than one, you are, without any transition, back in a world where there seems to be more than one.*

That can be compared to having a dream about landing on the moon. When you suddenly wake up, there is no conscious transition from being an astronaut to someone in their bed. You are what you were before dreaming about the moon. Likewise, you are not aware of any transition to a world where there seems to be more than one when you return from the Enlightenment of that which is One. And you are not enlightened. Nothing has changed, except that you sense everything experienced is fake because you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.

Nobody can attest to this because it requires more than one. For the same reason, you only have vague memories of leaving your personality behind and as nothing entering the formless void in a black hole of oneness. The memories pop up every time you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

GLIMPSES OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, its glimpses do not wipe out thoughts completely. But they are so compelling that you forget to assign thoughts with a specific meaning, thus more or less forgetting the world of the outward-facing senses for a while and being, and instead feeling the lightness of the glimpses.

When the glimpses are gone, and one does not feel light anymore, thus not special, many try to recall the glimpses by suppressing the darkness in themselves. But glimpses of Enlightenment do not come from exclusion but inclusion. Besides, you will not have more glimpses of Enlightenment if you want to use them for your benefit but want to be used by them. In the case of the latter, they eventually erase all wishes to be special, so there is not someone specific to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

People have extraordinary ideas about Enlightenment. Some think it is pure love, consciousness or the ability to see through all illusions. But seeing or being something requires more than one. Hence the Enlightenment they are dreaming about is not the Enlightenment of that which is One, but something to improve their life in a world where there seems to be more than one. THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE CANNOT BE EXPERIENCED:
Those who talk much about Enlightenment often say it is about something specific. And since their explanations are compelling, seen in the context of the belief in more than one, you probably dismiss the Enlightenment of that which is One if it hits you because you did not experience something specific since that requires more than one.

Therefore, if somebody refers to experiences of Enlightenment, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One, but glimpses of it experienced through the inward-facing senses.

If you tend to sense the world of the outward-facing senses in an auditory way, the inward-facing senses may not reveal visual glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One but auditory ones. In other words, instead of glimpses of light, you get samples of ethereal harmonies. Like the outward-facing senses see, hear, feel and taste in a world outside you, the inward-facing senses do the same inside you.

In short, when the outward-facing senses are partly closed, you experience glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One via the inward-facing senses in the same way as you experience it in the world of the outward-facing senses. But if the latter is fully turned off, the Enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. However, as already said, this is not an experience since it takes more than one to be aware of something. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

APPENDIX
A traffic sign pointing towards Berlin Airport has nothing to do with Berlin or the airport, even though there is an illustration of an aeroplane on the sign. And it cannot take you to Berlin Airport. All it can do is show the way.

Likewise, you cannot find the formlessness of oneness in Alexius’ Duality Hacks. And they do not point towards it, as that requires more than one. Instead, they point to the belief in being someone definitive because that hides the formlessness of oneness. But there are no specific steps to follow to have the Enlightenment of that which is One undo this belief. Alexius had not even heard about it when he bid the Enlightenment of that which is One welcome. And he did not even know that he did it.

Are there degrees of Enlightenment?

The answer to the question in the headline is both yes and no. Before elaborating on this, please remember that if two people drink the same cup of tea, they most likely describe it differently. Maybe one of them talks about it in an ecstatic way and the other in a very down-to-earth way. Still, it is the same tea, so – in the context of this metaphor – please focus on the tea and not the description when you read below.

In the Enlightenment of that which is One, everything happens simultaneously. Thus there are no specific elements available to combine into something understandable. Nor is there anybody to be aware of that or anything at all. Consequently, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not an experience or a state of mind. It is that which is One, and there are no degrees of that since it requires more than one. It is not to say how long it lasts because it is one perpetual present.

Returning from the Enlightenment of that which is One to a world where there seems to be more than one, you again appear to be the same as before, except that you do not believe in being that. It is a pretence. But whether you believe or pretend to be someone requires more than one. Thus the Enlightenment of that which is One appears hidden. You can compare this to activating an app on your computer or smart media. When you do that, the desktop – although still there – is hidden until you turn off the app.

Alexius is like every other person in the world not perfect. But unlike most others he knows, it is not possible to be perfect, because that requires more than one and there is no more than that which is One.

Alexius was 22 years old when the belief in being someone definitive momentarily turned off for the first time. He did not know about the Enlightenment of that which is One from books or anywhere else, and he did not consider himself to have – what the purist may call – a pure mind or body. He probably still does not have that because the Enlightenment of that which is One does not change anything. There is no more than that which is One, so there is not something to change. That is the revelation of Enlightenment – and there are no degrees in that.

Balance is a concept invented, so that you can always feel out of balance and therefore constantly is occupied trying to get it. Being on a mission like that, you do not have time to see that there is no balance in an illusion – neither btw in that which is real. Reality is one and it takes two to have a balance.

Spiritual wannabe’s often think they will become spritual when they have achieved the right balance, thus being in higher consciousness. But since spirituality is that which is One and it takes more than one to be in balance or conscious of something, it is not spiritual they get but numbness. If instead they acknowledged, that they do not know what and where they are, the Enlightenment of that which is One comes so fast, that the the brain has no time to distinguish anything. Therefore, since concepts fall apart, nothing seems to hide reality is that which is One.

Alexius has no answer to questions like how come he bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or how come he returned to the world again. All he can say is that he is writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in a world that seems full of degrees. So yes, in such a world, you can experience degrees of Enlightenment. However, they are not the Enlightenment of that which is One, but glimpses of it.

When Alexius was a child, he could not see the fully decorated Christmas tree before Christmas Eve. But he took some sneak peeks through the door’s keyhole and was amazed by the light he saw. Those sneak peeks can be compared to glimpses of Enlightenment. You are still in your ordinary world, from where you have glimpses of something very different.

In the context of this metaphor, it is not only the beautiful light you experience looking through the keyhole, you can also hear all the glitter move on the green leaves. And if you are more audio than visual-minded, these sounds might be more appealing than the light.

Apart from the visual and audiovisual aspects of the Enlightenment of that which is One, there are also aspects of feeling and tasting it. However, you do not need to follow all the elements into the non-degree version of the Enlightenment of that which is One to erase what seems to hide oneness. It is enough to follow one of the aspects into oneness. Since it is one perpetual present, the way takes no time nor going back to a world where there seems to be more than one. However, since everything in such a world is divided into more than one, you cannot bring back oneness. Nevertheless, you may have vague memories of non-separation. Thus you are someone compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One. 

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One is experienced through the inward-facing senses when the outward ones are partly closed. And just like you can experience something in the world of the outward-fencing senses in various degrees, you can get all manner of glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. However, you only have one aspect at a time. The most common one is the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One. But whether you see, hear, feel or taste the glimpses, they remain in your consciousness to remind you there is no more than that which is One. All of them come to Alexius regularly, but during the day, it is primarily the emotional experience of hearing and feeling the sound that Aum or Sohang symbolises. It sounds and feels like the vibrations from an enormous vacuum cleaner or the ventilation plant in an airport. Alexius has met people who have heard this humming when meditating but disregarded it as a sound coming from their neighbour’s vacuum cleaner. People spend so much time repeating Aum or Sohang, expecting something mysterious to happen when all they have to do is repeat it a few times to get in tune with the humming. The word Aum or Sohang can be compared to the control knob on an analogue radio that you use to fine-tune what you want to hear. When you have that, you do not need the control knob – or in this case, the word Aum or Sohang to listen to the echo of oneness. If you hear or feel this humming while still aware of the world, you have a glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One. Its intensity depends on how much you are unaware of a world where there seems to be more than one.

All degrees of Enlightenment are experiences, and any experience is part of the illusion of a world where there seems to be more than one. However, these degrees of Enlightenment appear to bring you closer to the beginning of the world – just after the big bang – which is often experienced as a paradise full of ecstasy and bliss. Yet, like all other experiences, they also have an end. So does this part of Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings.

‘The empty breath’ syncs the inward and outward-facing senses

NOTHING TWISTED INTO SOMETHING
It takes more than one to appear as someone, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Hence appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is a fantasy made from nothing, experienced by nobody.

That is not to say that oneness is nothing because it takes more than one to be anything. For the same reason, it is impossible to fantasise about more than one in oneness. Yet, it seems possible to sense more than one away from it. But since oneness is endless, there is nothing outside of it. Thus seeing something is a mirage. Maybe that is why science concludes that the world we believe in seeing consists of empty space.

Just like everything else sensed, the empty breath is invisible and colourless until the brain ascribes it to a specific shape and colour. But as the empty breath does not aspire to be something, the brain does not care to twist it into an object. Thus it remains invisible and colourless.

Not knowing what and where you are is the bliss of not believing to be someone

In the connectedness with the empty breath, the apparent difference between the opposing sides of the contrasts making up the experience of duality is cancelled out. Not in the sense that you do not register them anymore but that you do not perceive them to make a difference. THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Though science seems to know that the experience of something is made from nothing, thus make-believe, they explore the experiences as if they are real. However, in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, we expose that the experience of something is fabricated from nothing by the brain, so it appears to exist. The experiences only seem real when perceived as something. If not, they are exposed as nothing. The easiest way to not perceive them as something is to go back in time to the nothingness that the brain twists into your everyday experience of something.

Since it has taken the brain one second to fabricate your recent experience, it only takes one second to go back to the nothingness it has twisted into something, thus the bliss of nothing. That happens when you connect with the empty breath because it resides in nothing. Connecting with it is not about being deeper, purer or balanced. Being something is part of the experience of being someone, and the empty breath is not part of that but the nothingness that this experience is fabricated from.

In other words, you connect with the empty breath when you do not organise thoughts and feelings into something specific but instead step into the complete uncontrolled chaos of thoughts and feelings to ignite a take-off into the empty breath

In the flow of not believing to be someone

Should you wonder, who chooses to believe in being someone, and who has programmed the brain to produce experiences that seem to confirm this belief or who are wondering about this, the answer is nobody. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

WHAT AND WHERE ARE THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
What you see, hear, feel and taste in the world of the inward and outward-facing senses are based on the same sensory system. Thus their different names do not mean they differ from each other, physically speaking. But they are different ways of experiencing the same frequencies of nothingness that the brain twists into experiences that seem to prove you are authentic if they are perceived as something.

In the case of the inward-facing senses, the experience of its world is abstract because the brain has not yet processed the frequencies of nothingness to appear as physical elements outside you. Thus it feels as if the world is inside you. But in the world of the outward-facing senses, the brain has completed processing nothing into something, so you appear as someone definitive in a tangible world outside of you.

However, since it takes more than one to experience something, and since there is no more than oneness, any experience is an illusion, whether from the outward or inward-facing senses.

It takes nobody to know where the inner senses are


The abstract world of the inward-facing senses is experienced when time and space are not entirely considered real. Ultimately speaking, though, these experiences from the inward-facing senses are not more real than those via the outward-facing senses because any experience requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Thus it is only in the context of the brain’s plot to deceive you into experiencing nothing as something that there is someone to experience an abstract world, lightly processed by the brain from the frequencies of nothingness and a substantial world, heavily processed by the brain from the same frequencies.

The abstract experiences of the inward-facing senses open up when you do not entirely believe in being someone definitive in the world of the outward-facing senses. But there is little left of this belief when you are in the world of the inward-facing senses. Otherwise, there would be nobody to experience the world of the inward-facing senses. In other words, when you appear to be nobody in the world of the inward-facing senses, you have not totally left the belief in being somebody. Nevertheless, you may initially feel scared by the abstractness of the inward-facing senses. But since this fear comes from the belief in being somebody and the empty breath undoes this belief, there is nothing to fear if you connect with it.

Not being someone specific feels as if you are nothing, which seems pretty discomforting until you realise that being empty, you are a vessel for the empty breath, which takes you into the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, where glimpses of Enlightenment become the base for experiencing the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses. THE FEAR OF THE INWARD-FACING SENSES
You must constantly concentrate and focus on the world of outward-facing senses to make it appear real. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. That is experienced when there is no effort to focus or concentrate.

As long as you intend to appear in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is best to multitask between the inward and outward-facing senses, so you can focus when needed and space out when nothing is required from you.

However, you can only do that if you are willing not to always give your full attention to the structured world of the outward-facing senses but also go with the unstructured flow of the inward-facing senses. That may not seem very comforting, but it is the other way around. In the world of the outward-facing senses, we are always afraid of not making it, whereas we have nothing to live up to in the world of the inward-facing senses.

But we cannot remain in this abstract world if we want to go on in a world defined by time and space. Fortunately, the empty breath is an automatic gear shift between the outward and inward-facing senses, so we go back and forth between them per our present situation.

Alexius connected with the empty breath when he, as a child, every night devoted himself to the whereabouts of the breath, thus going to sleep in the bliss of nothing. However, others were talking so much about becoming something higher, so the bliss of nothing seemed foolish to bring about.

Thus he hid the emptiness by pretending to be something until he started writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in 2012. But it was not before writing HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss, he named the way to the bliss of nothing as the empty breath.

THE EMPTY BREATH SYNCS THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
Even though you hide from the sun, it remains where it is – likewise, the empty breath. Therefore, if we once connected with it, even briefly, the empty breath remains with us. It does not know we do not feel connected because it is unaware that we believe we are separated beings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses.

Yet, the empty breath senses the stress from this belief, so it synchs our discomfort with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. It does not do it because this world is more peaceful than the world of the outward-facing senses. But because the stress in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem stressful in the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses.

In other words, since the abstractness of the inward-facing senses syncs with the solidness of the outward-facing senses per what and where we appear to be, none of them seems to dominate. Actually, when synced, they do not look like something but nothing.

Connecting with the empty breath does not require meditation or other techniques based on exclusion, restraint and control. But neither does the connection require you to not be exclusive because if you stand by your unwillingness to be include everything unedited, the uncontrolled energy of suppression ignites a take-off to the empty breath.

But this does not work if you suppress the small involuntary movements brought about by small explosions of thoughts igniting mini take-offs into the empty breath, where you fall into place with the inward and outward-facing senses. Therefore, follow your present, electric-like, physical and mental impulses to get this synchronisation. For example, if the shoulders tighten up, be ready for mental relaxation when they fall. Or, if feeling sad, be prepared to feel physically good from a wholesome breath.

Sometimes, something more extreme is needed to make you realise the senses have been synced, like when Alexius as a child, returned to his home after school, ranged the doorbell with blood on the head, and said, Who am I? He had been involved in an accident and had no idea about what and where he was. That remained, although his parents thought he soon returned to normal. However, being like they expected was something he pretended as he always had done but was unaware of until now. You cannot help the empty breath with the synchronisation. Still, you can prevent yourself from interfering with it, for instance, by doing Nordic Walking for half an hour every day, using RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression before going to sleep and sleeping with far-infrared heating pads.

It is essential to accept that although everything looks like before you were connected with the empty breath, nothing feels the same. At first, it may seem blander because the kicks from especially high experiences in the world of the outward-facing senses are gone. But when you realise that is because, in the connection with the empty breath, you do not split up the duality pairs in separate entities.

Therefore, since high is complemented by low, feeling high includes feeling down, and vice versa, so you feel complete regardless of going up or down. This literally feels like being the waves of the ocean, where you are neither up nor down but in the constant movement between opposites. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

There are many ways to appear in a world defined by time and space, but there is no way to leave it because you are not in it. Like within the context of such a world, a dreamer is not in their dream and, therefore, does not return to bed when the dream is over. Likewise, you do not return to the formlessness of oneness when your apparent life in a world defined by time and space is finished because you never left the formlessness of oneness. APPENDIX
Since most resist being nobody, they are unwilling to undo the belief in being somebody. But if you acknowledge this, you confirm what you appear to be is make-believe. Thus you have the willingness to undo the belief in being somebody. See also Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one.

That does not mean you suddenly are gone, reborn or awakened. The story of Santa Claus does not change when you grow up. What changes is that we do not believe it is real anymore. However, there is one difference between the story of Santa Claus and the story of someone specific in a world defined by time and space. When the belief in the latter is undone or in the process of being it, you are not disappointed. Instead, you feel free to enjoy the story till it ends.

You can take breaks from the story by connecting with the empty breath, thus being in a state of not-knowing. And when not connected with the empty breath, it helps you live out the story by syncing the inward and outward-facing. Since this makes you indifferent to a specific interpretation of something, you are in the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?

The inner breath is not restricted to be felt as a specific form, neither to only be felt inside. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Since the empty breath is not definitive, it cannot be experienced in a specific way. But it can be felt in undefinable ways anywhere within its non-definitive framework – whether that appears to be inside or outside the body – but never consistently the same, although it is always there.

You can feel the empty breath in many ways within its non-definable frame of a ball-like thing. Its top passes through the head – or above it – and the bottom through the stomach or below it. It is not explicitly experienced inside or outside the body, so it is not an out-of-body experience. Besides, such an experience is based on the belief in being someone in a body, and the empty breath undoes that idea, wherefore it is a no-body experience. However, that does not mean you do not take care of the body and the world around it when connected with the empty breath, but that you are indifferent to the outcome.

In the connectedness with the empty breath there is nothing that appears disturbing. But trying to connect with it everything seems disturbing, because the purpose of trying to do something is to delay doing it.

The inner breath has no definitive center or anything else in a fixed position, so your experience of it may be different from mine. Maybe you primarily experience it in the stomach, in the chest or both inside and outside of your body within the non definitive borders of a ball. It may change from moment to moment, as  – unlike this image – it is not static. This image however illustrates when all its movements are experienced simultaneously, which feels as if the everything stands still.

The empty breath has no definitive centre or border, nor is anything else fixed. Everything is constantly moving, so the experience changes from moment to moment. Maybe it is felt in the stomach or chest or outside the body. Should your experience differ from Alexius’ description, go with the flow as it comes to you.

FEELINGS ARE SUBJECTIVE
If you are future-minded, you might experience the empty breath coming from in front of you, whereas it probably is felt to arrive from the back if you are concerned about the past. And if you are into the concepts like living in the now, being centred and balanced, it might feel like it has a centre. In other words, the experience of the empty breath is coloured by your conditioning.

That is not a problem for the empty breath because, contrary to you, it does not need to be acknowledged in a particular way. So whether you experience it in the stomach, the chest, or outside the body, it carries out its purpose, which is to make you indifferent to your experiences.

The empty breath is indifferent to all the apparent differences of the world, so the more you connect with it, the more you adapt to its indifference and the less you want to be someone who makes a difference.

Since the empty breath is not static, its experience may quickly change and differ from those described in this article. No worries. Connecting with it is not about doing something specific to feel something definitive but going with the flow. You only feel obliged to do ‘the right thing’ when you want to make a difference.

I am not a talented illustrator, so instead of making an illustration of the inner breath, I have manipulated an image found on the internet in order to give you an idea of the simultaneously movements inside it.

A BASIC INTRO TO THE NON-DEFINITIVE SHAPE OF THE THE EMPTY BREATH
The empty breath is modelled like an egg-shaped ball with oval circles moving inside it. But contrary to what you see in the illustration to the right, it does not have a definitive centre or border. Nor do the circles inside it. They are countless, and all of them have two waves shaped like a yin-yang sign inside them. You cannot see the waves inside the circles in the simplified illustration to the right. But in the second image from here, there is a sample of two waves inside one of the circles.

That the empty breath has a non-definitive form does not only mean its edge is blurry but that neither size nor shape is constant. It may get bigger and smaller here and there, so it momentarily feels more pear-shaped than egg-shaped. It has no up and down, and the apparent centre of each circle inside the non-definitive ball of the empty breath is floating. Hence there are many non-fixed centres.

The innumerable amount of diffused shaped circles inside the non-definitive boundary of the empty breath is located vertically and horizontally, plus in between, with each of them having yin-yang-shaped waves inside them. There is an illustration of the yin-yang-shaped waves inside one of the circles in the below paragraph SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH. But the circles are actually fused into one yin-yang-shaped movement rolling in all directions – a bit like in the animation in the paragraph The swing of the empty breath or the two last animations of this article.

However, since that is very difficult to comprehend in a world where we are conditioned to divide reality into more than one, most do not feel the totality of the empty breath but one of the many circles inside it. No worries. It is not about perfection but going with the flow as it comes to you.

The empty breath has no specific centre, and though it seems to consist of an endless amount of circles in various movements, everything is fused into one single move. But since this is hard to comprehend in a world where there seems to be more than one, you may find it easier to experience one of its aspects at a time.

Maybe the flow is in a circle going vertically from the stomach around the back of the body to the top of the head when breathing in, and from there, in a circular movement in front of the body and back to the stomach when breathing out. The direction, however, does not matter. As already said, it is about going with the flow, so follow it wherever it goes.

But the flow can also be in a circle, about the same diameter as above, that goes from the abdomen to the throat or rectum to the heart. And the circle can also expand its diameter, so it goes from the abdomen to a point above the head or from the rectum further above the head. Since the latter circle metaphorically goes from hell to heaven, you may feel frightened or spaced out if you get stuck in one of those extremes. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

These are just samples. You may experience the circle bigger or smaller, for example from the heart to a point above the head. Or perhaps you feel it somewhere else, for example from the left to the right side of you or anywhere between this and the location mentioned above. You could also feel it horizontally. But no matter where you perceive the empty breath, it is the same emptiness you encounter a second before the brain has finished processing it into an experience of something perceived as substantial (read more about that here).

Below is a short introduction to some ways of feeling the empty breath, then a more detailed description. Be aware that feeling the empty breath, as described in this article, is only possible to the extent that you do not wish to be or have more because the empty breath has nothing to give but the sheer bliss of emptiness.

A BASIC INTRO TO WAYS OF FEELING THE EMPTY BREATH
Sensing the operator of the empty breath (see the below) or the indifference of it (see The indifference of the empty breath wash out conditioning) is a state of not-knowing in which you seem to float on clouds of bliss. In contrast, the state of not-knowing coming from the rhythmic flow of the empty breath is more like being moved by clouds of bliss.

The rhythmic flow can be heard as a distant sound or felt inside the body (see below). It can also be sensed as if nobody is surfing two yin-yang-like waves in and outside the body (see the next paragraph).

These categories are not meant to limit you to experiencing the empty breath like that but to inspire you to go with the flow.

Each of the non-definable circles inside the cloudy ball of the empty breath – see the previous illustration – consists of two free-flowing yin-yang-like-looking waves (without holes). They govern the physical breath, so it is not about following the extraction and contraction of the physical breath but the flow of the empty breath. It may feel like you are surfing two yin-yang-like waves, more or less in sync with the physical breath. The colours in this image only have an illustrative purpose.

SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH
You see a simplified simulation of the empty breath in the illustration with the red circles pictured above to the right. You cannot see that the number of circles inside it is endless. Nor does the drawing reflect that the empty breath has no definitive border or centre, and each circle inside it contains two non-definitive waves you can surf. The waves look like a yin-yang sign without holes (see the above image). They are colourless, so the colours in this image and the others in the article only have an illustrative purpose.

When the breath expands the body, you surf the outside of the yellow wave vertically from the stomach and behind the body up into the head. From there, you surf the outside of the blue wave in front of the body down to the stomach while the breath is contracting the body. That is, if you are sensing the waves in a circle going vertically from the back to the front of the body. But, as mentioned above, the direction does not matter, and the circle can be smaller and bigger. Besides surfing the two yin-yang-like waves in a vertical circle, you can surf the waves in a horizontal circle or anywhere between.

No need to be in total sync with the rhythm of the physical expansion and contraction of the body, nor does it matter if part of the circular movement is skipped. What matters is you follow the flow as it comes to you. By doing that, you forget the physical breath. Hence it can take care of itself without you trying to inflict it with ideas of wholeness, balance and whatnot.

Maybe the most ecstatic way to surf the waves is to go the whole way around one of them and then continue by going the entire way around the other, more or less aligned with the breath extracting and contracting the body. However, many other joyous ways are probably revealed when you go with the flow.

Alexius has never been surfing in the world of the outward-facing senses, so when he says going with the flow of the two yin-yang like waves in a circle inside the empty breath feels like surfing, it is something he imagines based on pictures.

As already said, you can surf the waves of the empty breath in both directions. Going counterclockwise tends to lessen physical awareness, so you become less interested in returning to the conscious experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world. The same applies if the non-definable edges of the empty breath are not experienced to pass through the head but on top of it and below the abdomen.

That sets the body free, so it can follow its biological system without you trying to integrate it with mental ideas of wellness, which is like trying to blend the material world with the immaterial world of a dream or vice versa. It does not work. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues. However, you can surf the waves in the empty breath to ease pain in the back, for example. See the appendix at the bottom.

Since it takes more than one to feel something, it is only in a world where there seems to be more than one it is possible to do that. Therefore, the more the belief in such a world is undone by the empty breath, the less you feel it.

It is impossible to illustrate the swing of the empty breath because it has no definable form or movement. Nevertheless, this animation may give you an idea. The swing of the empty breath is generated from the blurred curved line between two yin-yang-like waves in one of the circles inside the empty breath. In this case, you do not surf the waves but follow the swing of the curved line, which is less curved but energetically expands and contracts the body so that it breathes in and out. Depending on where the circle is experienced, the swing of the empty breath is experienced to go upwards and downwards, sideways, forwards and backwards or anywhere in between. But even though going with the swing of it is magnificent, it is often a laid-back experience of expansion and contraction.

THE SWING OF THE EMPTY BREATH
You surf the empty breath on the waves in any of the circles within the non-definitive border of the empty breath, whereas you feel the swing of the empty breath from the movement of the non-definitive curved line between the two yin-yang-like waves in any of the circles (see the illustration to the left). It extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. Perhaps due to the definitive size of the body, this line feels less curved and probably also shorter than the line between the two waves described above.

The steady swing of the empty breath extracts and contracts the body in a steady rhythmic flow of breathing in and out. This may seem slower than when you imagined being in charge of the breath. And the break in between expansion and contraction may feel too long. Nevertheless, the swing of the empty breath probably feels more powerful – so much indeed that it feels like the body does not have enough room for it at first.

The curved line is not just pumping from the back to front concerning the body but also up and down, from side to side and everywhere in between, which you may sense in the illustration to the left. Though you can feel all these directions simultaneously, it probably is so unfamiliar that you may prefer to feel the swing of the empty breath in one vertical circle at a time.

The circles with the swing of the empty breath are more egg-shaped (see the illustration to the left). But you will not notice that because it is only the swing of the curved line inside ‘the egg’ that you feel, probably in a way that does not seem logical. For example, breathing in, you may solely experience the swing of the empty breath at the bottom of ‘the egg’ and breathing out at the top of it – or the other way around, or only in the bottom, or the top. You can also experience the curved line going back and forth or up and down simultaneously.

Like the other ways of feeling the empty breath, it presupposes you acknowledge you are not in charge. Using the technique for the taste of life, you automatically lose control because, whether you taste it or not, the method is beneficial for defocusing. And without focus, you are out of control. If you experience the swing of the empty breath in all the egg-shaped circles simultaneously, their fusion initially feels as if everything is spinning. See the speedy animation just below. But it quickly becomes a feeling of everything standing so still that you feel the bliss of being indifferent to what and where you appear to be.

Connecting to the inner breath is fortunately not about perfection, as that requires much control and therefore blocks the inner breath to move on its own accord. The inner breath is always connected to you, but you cannot feel it if your purpose is to be someone definitive. In other words not being anybody the inner breath is not hidden. In fact it is very intense.

The swing of the empty breath is not felt as fast as the movements in this animation but rather like a steady ongoing rhythm with much force that expands and contracts the body. Yet the resulting breath in the body is often very subtle. It probably seems slower than you are used to – unlike the operator of the empty breath, which is a rush of energy within the non-definable ball. Even though the particles of this force are moving completely unstructured and at any speed, fast or slow – a bit like in this animation – it is such a relief to merge with this apparent chaos because that prevents you from focussing on anything specific. Hence you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy.

THE OPERATOR OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Besides feeling the swing of the empty breath or as if surfing yin-yang-like waves more or less in alignment with the extraction and contraction of the physical breath, you can also feel a constant rush of energy within the non-definable border of the empty breath. This chaotic energy is not rhythmic but irregular at the root of the empty breath. Yet, it is the force behind the constant rhythm of the empty breath. The feeling is a subtle sense of being here and everywhere, or as if spinning through a world with no limits, undefined as someone.

There are no rules, but it could very well be that a take-off into the empty breath will take you to the operator of the empty breath – and what a relief it is to float in chaos instead of having to fit into the rigid world of the outward-facing senses.

Unlike the swing of the empty breath, but like surfing its waves, the operator of the empty breath is sensed inside and outside the body – or rather like there is no inside and outside. If you do not try to catch the abstractness of this, you feel like a fountain of sparkling joy. Sometimes this is easier to recognise outside if you start the body, where the dense bodily feeling is not an obstacle. You will automatically be taken inside, as the operator does not know one from the other. And from there, you may start surfing the empty breath, feel the swing of it or hear its transparent sound (see the next paragraph).

THE TRANSPARENT SOUND OF THE EMPTY BREATH
Just like the rhythm of bass is heard and felt in the body, so is the sound of the empty breath, which is like ‘so’ when it expands and ‘ham’ when it contracts.

Sometimes it is like this rhythmic sound of ‘so-ham’ comes from the nose, but at other times, it is sensed from an undefined space in the back of the head. And then again, since the sound does not seem to have a definable location, it is neither experienced to be inside nor outside the head. It may even appear to originate from an invisible space outside the body that has nothing to do with the body.

In other words, feeling the sound of the empty breath is not a compelling experience because it cancels out the notion of being in a body – as if there is no definable border between the body and its apparent surrounding. For example, a sofa does not seem to differ from the body sitting in it when deeply connected with the empty breath (read more about that here). Consequently, since there is no inside and outside, there is nothing to define a world where there seems to be more than one, wherefore it is seen as unreal.

But like the set-up in the world of a game is the same whether you know it is fictional, a world where there seems to be more than one remains the same even though you sense it is an illusion. However, your relationship with it changes. Being there is pretence – like it is, within that reality, when you pretend to be in the world of a game. Do not get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because the feeling of the rhythm is related to the body, so it stops when the body does not function anymore.

Since a rhythm has a beginning and an end, it is best not to get attached to the rhythm of the empty breath, because it ends when the body stops to function. At that moment, it is better to merge with the indifference of the empty breath or the non rhythmic and very chaotic energy in its operator, so there is not something specific to stop the Enlightenment of that which is One from absorbing the nothingness of you.

Via the transparent sound of the empty breath, you naturally float into glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The visual-minded will experience them as visions of light, and the auditory-minded as ethereal harmonies. However, if you are more emotional-minded, you may feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang, and The Word of God symbolise or taste its sweetness.

The connection with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing. Therefore, since there is no notion of separation, the apparent difference between past, now and future or you and Alexius makes no difference.

It is not possible to illustrate the inner breath in its totality. This yon yang animation (please abstract from the holes) though may give you an idea of the simultaneously movement of the two waves inside the inner breath.

It is not possible to illustrate the empty breath in its totality. But this yin-yang animation (please ignore the holes in the waves and imagine it is completely full of yin-yang-like waves) may give you an idea about the simultaneous movement of the waves inside it.

THE CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE EMPTY BREATH IS A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Nobody knows what the connectedness with the empty breath feels like because it is a state of not-knowing. So Alexius had to go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone to compile distant memories of how the empty breath feels. Hence, his writing about it may seem patchy and confusing. If so, do not try to correct your disorientation but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. The empty breath has no specific border, so if you experience it somewhere else, you have really become indifferent to the belief in being someone definitive because only as such would you expect to experience it somewhere specific.

Please remember that even though the connectedness with the empty breath is impersonal, your memory of it is personal. Therefore, you may not remember it as Alexius.

If you are still confused, you are welcome to mail Alexius, although using your uncertainty to ignite a take-off into the empty breath is preferable because he can help neither you nor himself, as he sees nobody in need of help.

Thus, you are better off reading about it until you can hardly stay awake. Then go to bed, forget what you read, close your eyes, and most likely sense the empty breath. Indeed, the feeling will rapidly change. That is, if you do not try to hang onto one of them. In that case, the connection is broken.

However, your eyes do not have to be closed, and you do not have to go to bed to connect with the empty breath. Besides, you can sit anywhere in any position. You can also walk, run or talk. But you cannot bring about the empty breath by manipulating the physical breath or exercising any other form of control. Instead, it is the other way around. When you go with the flow, the empty breath joins you.

A bicycle has nothing to do with the place, it is transporting you to.

That is not to say that techniques cannot help you with toning down the experience of being someone definitive so that your apparent existence in a tangible world is exposed as make-believe. But unfortunately, most forget that techniques have nothing to do with what they seem to accomplish. Just like the remote control, have nothing to do with the music it triggers.

Just like what you believe in being is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it has no need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something specific. Consequently, there is not something that prevents it from being what and where is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.

APPENDIX: SURFING THE EMPTY BREATH TO HEAL YOUR PROBLEMS 
Alexius usually join the flow of the empty breath without thinking about direction and whatnot because, in his case, it primarily results in the sense of indifference. However, it is possible to be pickier. For example, if you worry about a strange pain in the back, you have it massaged by continuously surfing the whole wave behind you but not the wave in front of you in a vertical circle. Should you want to be grounded, you surf the waves in a horizontal circle, passing through the abdomen or even lower.

Suppose you want to enhance being impulsive. In that case, you surf all the way around the wave to the right inside a horizontal circle going around the head. If you want to be more calculated, you surf the left wave instead.

In a circle that also is horizontal but around the chest, you can surf all the way around a wave in front of the chest to ease the restricted feeling caused by imagined emotions there. Surfing both waves in a horizontal circle around the head or stomach is excellent in the case of vertigo.

Sometimes problems like spasms are the body’s way of shaking parts into a position that benefits the whole. In such cases, spasms should not be healed, of course. But if that is not the case, you can use the empty breath to calm down the spasms.

Should you have tight hips, a blocked abdomen or spasms in the lower back, you surf the whole wave behind you and then the one in front of you in a horizontal circle in that area. You could also try surfing in a similar circle where the waves are not behind and in front of you but on your sides. The circle size, thus the waves, adjusts to the need for relaxing these areas.

The empty breath is also beneficial for alleviating allergy symptoms or the symptoms of IBS and COPD, for example. However, it may not heal these or the aforementioned physical sicknesses because Alexius’ Duality Hacks aims not to heal the body but the sick belief that someone is in it. Read more about that here. But since that frees the body from your domination, it can often heal itself. That said, if you want that, it is best not to use the empty breath but instead be used by it and trust that it gives you what is in your best interest.

The look of these sound waves reminds me in some ways of how it feels to be connected with the inner breath.

How to ignite a take-off into ‘the empty breath’

When not trying to make sense of this image but going with its absurdity, the free-flowing energy of the experience spontaneously ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its bliss of emptiness, provided there is a willingness to forget what you believe in being. As soon as you have had enough of the frustration coming from keeping together a fantastic image of yourself and you do not try to edit or transform your feeling of desperation, the raw energy automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath. Since it resides in nothing and your current experience of something is processed by the brain from what it imagined seeing in nothing one second ago (read more about that here), the take-off into the empty breath only takes one second.

In other words, when you connect with the empty breath, you go back one second in linear time to the nothingness the brain twisted into your present experience of something. But perceiving that with the empty breath, it is not seen as something, thus not confirming you as someone. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing.

In linear time, though, this may take a few more seconds or even years because, out of reflex, you probably fight off the nothingness of the empty breath by forcing the physical breath through your body to feel it is something real. But when you stop fighting the empty breath, it passes what you believe is something in the body as nothing.

That said, the function of the empty breath is not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. So although it may heal the painful areas of the body by approaching them where they were made, namely nowhere, it is not the priority of the empty breath. However, that does not mean the body should not be taken care of while you believe in being there. See hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

What you believe in being is nothing twisted into something by the brain. In the presence of the empty breath, which is nothing unprocessed by the brain, you become indifferent to the brain’s experiences of something. Therefore, since there is not something to define you as someone, you are in a state of not-knowing. The animation is grabbed from the web.

Despite the empty breath being nothing, it is experienced like something in a world where everything is expected to be felt. For example, like moving yin-yang-like waves that you surf, being everywhere and nowhere in the sound of it, joyfully moving with the swing of it, or being still in the abstractness behind its rhythmic flow. Although it probably was unaltered speed and chaos that connected you with the empty breath, it is not a speedy or chaotic affair being connected. Think of being high up in the sky in an aeroplane. Although speed ignites the take-off and must be maintained to keep you in the air, it is not the speed you feel up there but a relaxed experience of floating in the air.

Regarding speed, whether connected with the empty breath or not, we are always moving extremely fast because the Earth, thus also us, is spinning at 1.000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. However, maintaining a definitive perception of ourselves, we do not feel this movement, thus unable to use the speed to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Hence hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing mostly uses our suppressed energy for take-off into the empty breath.

Let us imagine, you cover your eyes with your hand, so you can daydream about being in a world that revolves around you without being disturbed by the world outside of you. Though it feels great to be in a fantasy where everything turns out the way you want, it also feels strange to be cut off from the actual world.

So when you want to see the world as it is and not as you imagine it should be, and you sense it is your own hand that stops you from seeing reality, you automatically remove it. In other words, the built-up frustration of not seeing what is real and the realisation that your own hand hides it, makes you remove the obstacle so you can see the world as it is.

You may not only sense the bare feet that have made the footprints in this photo but also the body you imagine they belong to. Yet there are no feet or body in the image, and nobody makes footprints like those. Hence what you sense is a fantasy. Read more about that here. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

HAVING HAD ENOUGH IGNITES A TAKE-OFF INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
The above box resembles how a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. The perception of your experiences as something hides that they are a fantasy made from nothing. This perception is to be compared to the hand in the above box. The hand is made from selected thoughts organised into a spiritual or mundane vocabulary that you share with like-minded ones to establish you are real and not a fantasy of the brain. Read more about that here.

When you have had enough of the confusion that this vocabulary entails, you loosen the grip on the selected thoughts, making it up. Thus you start to see that being someone is a daydream. And when you are fed up with living a fantasy, your frustration ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, you are still in the world of something. However, since the experiences of something are perceived as nothing, you are not attributed with a specific meaning, thus in a state of not-knowing, and unaware of the bliss that comes from nothing.

The empty breath cannot be experienced as something definitive because it resides in the nothingness, unprocessed by the brain. Hence you do not notice it if you want to experience something specific.

That is until you return from a state of not-knowing to the conscious of being somebody, and blissful memories of nothing pop up. This does not mean you consider yourself unique. On the contrary, the slate has been wiped clean in a state of not-knowing, so you are the basic self you always were meant to be, thus feeling satisfied. The connectedness with the empty breath does not come from meditating, chanting, or any other self-control technique because control enhances the belief in being someone definitive. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

This satisfaction does not come from something in particular but from being true to your nature (see hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy). Therefore, since there is no need always to look for something specific to make you happy, now and then, there does not appear to be something hiding the bliss of nothing. Are you confused about how to connect with the empty breath? If so, do not try to clear up the turmoil but go with its unedited energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. But be aware that you will never get to know how to connect with the empty breath. It is not something but nothing, and you cannot learn how to connect with nothing. But if you forget what you know, you do not need to connect with it because there does not appear to be something hiding that you are nothing.

AN EMOTIONAL EXPLOSION
The empty breath is often ignited by an emotional issue where two opposing elements accelerate so much that they suddenly meet at incredible speed. Therefore, the empty breath is revealed since they explode and cancel out each other. But since it is nothing, the revelation is not a physical sensation. Instead, perhaps like having a transparent body shivering with joy. The connection with the empty breath does not solve physical problems, only psychological ones. But if you have projected psychological issues onto the body, they are no longer experienced to disturb it. Hence the body might appear lighter.

THE PURPOSE OF ALEXIUS’ DUALITY HACKS
There is no reason to diligently learn all the duality hacks for undoing the belief in being someone definitive. None of them is a goal in themselves – nor do they lead to the target. There is no destination because you are already there.

Hence the purpose of applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to return to that which is One but to expose the belief that seems to hide it, namely that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

Take-offs into ‘the empty breath’

In this hack, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings talks about the world of the outward or inward-facing senses. They are two different kinds of experiences: One perceived as inside and abstract, and the other as outside and substantial. But the sensory system is the same. Read more about that here. It is not the same as the physical and psychological zone, which refers to the brain’s differentiation of physical and psychological feelings. TO IGNITE A TAKE-OFF TO THE EMPTY BREATH
Success and failure in the world of the outward-facing senses tend to speed up thoughts and feelings. Many try to fix the stress that this entails by meditating. But it often has the opposite effect, bringing about more thoughts and feelings. Read more about that here.

The fastest way to not be bothered by speedy thoughts and feelings is to have their raw energy of unsuppressed chaos ignite a take-off into the empty breath. It immediately takes you to the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, where the stressful speed of the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not appear annoying but soothing. Read more about that here.

In other words, when stress is not suppressed in the world of the outward-facing senses, its unbound energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. It syncs the world of the outward-facing senses with the abstractness of the inward-facing senses, so the latter becomes the foundation for perceiving the world of the outward-facing senses.

And since the inward-facing senses vibrate at a high frequency, the experience of speedy thoughts and/or feelings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem disturbing when perceived from the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. However, you probably do not sense the inner world when walking down the street, although it is from there that you see it and, therefore, feel like you are walking on clouds.

Except for the inward and outward-facing sense of sight, the sensory organs are the same for both. The difference between them is that the world of the inward-facing senses is relatively unprocessed by the brain, thus abstract and experienced inside you. In contrast, the world of the outward-facing senses seems tangible and outside you. That said, what the brain receives from the sensory system is nothing twisted into something. In other words, all experiences are fantasy – and so is that the brain is making it because there is no more than that which is One, and it takes more than one to make something. But within the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One, Alexius’ Duality Hacks use this fantasy to expose that everything experienced is an imagination nobody is making or having. WHERE IS THE EMPTY BREATH
It has taken the brain one second to produce your current experience of the outer world (read more about that here), so if you go back one second, you get the unprocessed version of being someone who reads this now – at least theoretically speaking.

However, none of your experiences is based on information from the sensory system, as the brain claims. Nonetheless, most believe this because otherwise, it is evident that all experiences are processed from nothing, thus pure fantasy. In other words, the unprocessed version of reading this is nothing that the brain has twisted into something experienced by someone.

You find the empty breath in this nothingness that has not been processed into something by the brain. A split second before you reach it, you meet the brain’s first attempt to turn nothing into something, namely the abstractness of the world of the inward-facing senses. Almost a second later, the brain has processed the abstractness into your current experience of being someone substantial in the tangible world of the outward-facing senses reading this.

When one is indifferent to the belief in being someone, it feels fun appearing to be that. That is until you insist on something making a difference. Then this belief feels like hell.

You cannot experience the abstractness in the world of the inward-facing senses without partly being conscious of the image fabricated by your brain as someone definitive. Hence the empty breath synchs the world of the inward and outward-facing senses so that part of you still believes to be someone definitive. The only duality hack that immediately undoes this belief is hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One. When you connect with the empty breath, the image fabricated by your brain as someone definitive is downplayed but still in play. Otherwise, there would not be somebody to experience the world of the inward-facing senses and the glimpses of the Enlightenment that may come from it. Your eyes do not need to be closed for this because while you have glimpses of Enlightenment, the world of the outward-facing senses is automatically minimised.

Nor do you need to understand the explanations about the inward and outward-facing senses to connect with the empty breath. And you do not have to understand you are brought back one second in linear time. On the contrary, the less you know, the easier it is because you connect with the empty breath by not doing anything about how you feel, so the unedited energy of it can ignite a take-off into the empty breath and, in one second, fill you with the bliss of nothing.

If you insist on connecting with the empty breath in your own way and pace, you fence it off, because you are not in charge of anything except how you perceive it.

In other words, you must be willing to go with the flow of chaos into the empty breath, which realistically speaking means you should acknowledge you are not ready for that. UNEDITED ISSUES IGNITE A TAKE-OFF INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
Any unedited tension in the body or emotion in the psyche will ignite a take-off into the empty breath. It is as easy as going the flow of erotic energy until it explodes and you feel released. Feeling depressed also works fine for igniting a take-off into the empty breath. Should it not seem easy to have unedited thoughts and feelings ignite a take-off into the empty breath, you can use music to set the explosive mood, for example, Sons Of Kemet’s All will Surely Burn, the first track on Burn.

However, tensions and emotions do not magically disappear when connected with the empty breath. See, The purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to heal the body but the belief that there is someone in it. However, nothing seems disturbing due to its indifference to a world of differences.

This does not mean you should stop taking medicine to ease hay fever, for example. It may help you to relax so you can face the stress and fear of feeling attacked and use the energy of that violent experience to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

THE EXPERIENCE OF THE EMPTY BREATH 
The take-off into the empty breath might be experienced as a gentle explosion of accumulated thoughts and feelings at the top of the head that expands it until it is filled with nothing but the empty breath. Therefore, since you do not seem substantial, you do not differ from the empty breath.

Maybe you are with the operator of the empty breath. See the paragraph of the same name in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. Or perhaps in the swing of the empty breath. See the section of the same name in the article What does the empty breath feel like? where you also can read about other ways of feeling the empty breath. When feeling more physical again, the empty breath might be experienced as an engine pumping out emptiness from the gut or the chest. See Going everywhere and nowhere with the empty breath.

But since the connectedness with the empty breath is a state of not-knowing, there is nobody to know that you are connected with it. Thus feeling it, as described in What does the empty breath feel like? are based on the memories popping up when Alexius returns from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone.

CONFUSION BRINGS YOU TO THE EMPTY BREATH
Should you, after having read the above, feel confused about what the empty breath is and how to connect with it, do not try to resolve this disorientation but remain in its intense energy until it ignites a take-off into the empty breath, and you feel a big smile expanding everything.

There is no right way to feel the empty breath. At first, it may not be felt in the exciting ways described in the article What does the empty breath feel like?. Actually, it may not be felt at all because its main attribute is indifference (read more about that here), and that is not a feeling. But not feeling the stress that comes from believing to be someone definitive is a big relief.

A NOTE ABOUT ALEXIUS:
The methods described in hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing to connect with the empty breath is what Alexius has detected from his interaction with it. From testing the take-offs before writing about them, he knows that anything which seems to irritate or excite him can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, whether he sits on a bus, walk down a noisy street, or whatnot.

Consequently, there is no need to repeat a mantra, have positive thoughts, and be still in unique surroundings with exceptional people to take off into the empty breath. Neither to stop thoughts. Actually, they are the fuel for the take-off.

Notes on perceptions

In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

When you perceive your reaction to an experience as ‘it is what it is,’ you are in sync with the brain’s script. But if you start to analyse your response and conclude, ‘I know what it is,’ you are not in sync. However, you cannot know anything because you do not know what you are and never will because you are a fantasy of the brain. Read about the brain’s script in hack #4.1 The basic self versus the special one.

There is no meaning in your experiences, nor are they yours. It is an illusion created by the brain, which generates all experiences, so the self it has fabricated believes it sees, hears, feels and tastes something outside of itself. It is easy to deceive the self into believing this because if not, there is nothing to confirm its existence.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences you believe in having will continue as scripted by the brain, regardless of how you perceive them. But since the brain loves you and thus injects you with shots of happiness, it is in your own best interest if your perception is in sync with the brain because otherwise, you do not notice the shots.

If you want a break from the brain, you perceive the experiences it produces as ‘dunno what it is.’ Hence you enter into a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. However, this does not mean the brain’s script changes but that you are indifferent to it because there is no need to be confirmed as somebody.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The more you perceive your responses to your experiences as ‘it is what it is,’ the more carefree you feel. Perhaps so much that your perception automatically changes to ‘dunno what it is,‘ which may bring about glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. You do not have to use the same phrases for the perceptions mentioned in HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end to participate in the game of duality, deny it, take a break, or totally forget it. Instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could say ‘shit happens,’ or ‘so what.’ As long as the essence is alike, the perception works the same. That said, the perception ‘I know what it is’ only works in the sense that it makes you feel special. You are still what and where the brain wants you to be, which you do not try to change when you go with the perception, ‘it is what it is.’

You leave the brain’s script by choosing the perception’ dunno what it is,’ you leave the brain’s script. Not in a sense that you are not what and where the brain has planned, but you do not perceive your experience of it as something because you are in the bliss of nothing.

To uphold the perception ‘I know what it is,‘ you got to suppress your actual response to an experience. Still, it never works as intended because you are not all-seeing and knowing. The two other perceptions do not involve denial. On the contrary, your response to something cannot be perceived as ‘it is what it is,‘ or ‘dunno what it is,’ if you deny your reaction. Yet, they do not work if you intend to get something over and done.

However, this can be solved by perceiving the response to your plan as ‘it is what it is.’ It flushes out any idea of achieving something specific. On the other hand, if your response is perceived as ‘dunno what it is,’ there is not something to accomplish because you are in the bliss of nothing.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Do not hide your reaction to something by making a story in which you are unimpressed or detached. Instead, feel your response, so you can decide what it means and perceive that as ‘it is what is.’ This expands the interpretation of your reaction, so it is not limited to you being angry, for example, but complemented with being calm. Since twofoldness makes you feel fulfilled, you have no urge to uphold a single-minded image of yourself. Thus, sooner or later, you forget what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One has been waiting for. When your reaction to something is sadness, and it is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you also get happiness. First of all, everything comes in pairs in a world of duality. But also, if something has not made you happy at some point, it cannot make you sad. For example, when your cat dies, your sadness is related to the happiness you felt when it was alive.

Should you, instead, make the perception ‘I know what it is,’ when your cat dies and what you believe to know is this is sad, you must exclude gladness to prove you are exclusively sad. But without gladness, sadness cannot be defined. Therefore, since what you believe in knowing to feel is a thought-up concept of sadness, it is fake.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Just like the twofoldness of breathing in and out makes you feel alive, you feel fulfilled when psychological duality pairs, such as love and hate, dynamically interact. However, since this interaction takes away the sense of control, most choose to separate hate from love by projecting romanticised love onto one person and iron-fisted hate onto another. Insisting on this division, they miss the joy of togetherness because it does not come from a singular but dualistic feeling.

But they get that joy when the meaning they have assigned to hatred is perceived as ‘it is what it is.‘ For example, if they have classified hate as a weakness, this perception reveals it is paired with strength. And this polarity, like any other, brings about the joy of togetherness. Thus there is no need to project a pleasant image of love or an unpleasant one of hate onto others. Consequently, others are free from the conceptual way you used to look at them.

A feeling can only be known when explained. And since that makes it mental, you are benumbed when your perception is ‘I know what it is.To make up for that, you indulge in stories of a better future.

To perceive anything as ‘I know what it is‘ is as crazy as thinking you know where you are in a dream. You are nowhere but in your bed.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In a computer game, everything is predetermined. No matter what you choose to do, the subsequent events are prearranged, likewise in a world of duality. You can choose between different stories going on inside your head. But regardless of which one you settle for, it carries on as scripted by the brain. You cannot change that. However, you are free to perceive your reaction to it as you see fit.

If your perception is that ‘it is what it is,‘ it is experienced as two-fold. And since you are in a world of duality, you feel unified with it. But if you perceive your reaction as I know what it is,’ it is seen as singular, thus separated from duality. Hence you do not feel together but alone. Unfortunately, most think the solution to this is to get rid of duality.

Yet, it is the other way around. Playing the game of duality, you confirm non-duality because it is formless, thus endless, so there is no other reason for the experience of duality. Thus you feel connected.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always makes an explanation that seems to confirm the perception ‘I know what it is.’ This enhances its conditioned view of the world and the fear of being wrong. But if you do not try to explain anything, you never need to correct or deny something to maintain you are right. Since ‘It is what it is,‘ you have nothing to worry about.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If memories from your childhood are the basis for your perception of a movie you watch as a grown-up, you are out of sync with its plot. Therefore, it seems to make you frustrated rather than entertained. Fortunately, this is corrected right away if you perceive the plot, or your judgment of it, as ‘It is what it is.

This perception makes the plot amusing no matter how it evolves because you are in sync with it as it is and not as you think it is. Likewise, when the brain’s script is perceived as ‘It is what it is.

When you do not identify yourself as definitive but relative to the present moment, there is no need to make specific opinions to confirm you are someone definitive. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you do not feel complete, you have been messing with the duality pairs by perceiving their opposing parts as items independent of each other. Since that is your choice, you can undo it to feel complete. Read more about choosing in hack #2.2 Choosing or not. Having done that a few times, you establish every moment is the perfect moment regardless of what and where you appear to be. In other words, if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, you do not wait for a better moment. This one is perfect as it is.

As that means you never wait for something better, the continuation of duality eventually comes to an end. Hence it does not appear to be hiding, there never was or will be anything but non-duality.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular and therefore cut off from their complementary part, you appear to judge yourself and others as incomplete. Consequently, you get the urge to improve something to feel complete.

Yet nobody but yourself has made single-minded comments about what is right and wrong that seem to establish what one can do. Fortunately, these rules do not need to be identified to set yourself and others free from your confinement. Instead, you perceive your present comment about somebody as ‘it is what it is.’ This reveals your opinion is not singular but twofold. Perhaps you do not catch the elements of this duality pair because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh, while new duality pairs, like waves in the ocean, hastily but without haste, wash away your narrow-minded opinions.

If you feel something is missing in music compressed into an MP3 file, you can get the same music in a non-compressed version. If you still feel something missing, you can get better speakers, wires and whatnot. And if that is not enough to satisfy you, live music might be the way.

But no matter how the music is presented, you never feel satisfied if you assume a specific music experience will make you feel complete. Everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, so you cannot feel complete unless your reaction to something is twofold. Therefore, when your response to the music is twofold, you feel fulfilled, regardless it is compressed.

Seeing the sun going up and down is a hallucination. »The sun stays positioned at the centre of our solar system. So it does not rise and set. But it appears to rise and set because the Earth rotates on its axis,« says science.

This rotation happens at 1.000 miles an hour. Whether you believe in being positive or negative, seeing the sun rise and set or whatnot, you rotate with the Earth at the same speed, besides hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. In other words, you proceed in alignment with the playbook of the universe.

The brain is in charge of that. You cannot change its script. But you believe in knowing better, thus perceiving the brain’s duality scheme per your singularity philosophy. However, since everything is twofold in a world of duality, your perception is out of sync with the brain’s plot, wherefore you feel incomplete. On the other hand, if you do not try to manage the brain’s playbook of duality, the constant interaction of opposites makes you feel complete.

Being in sync with the brain’s script is not a matter of responding positively to its plot but not hiding your reaction because your response is revealed as twofold when exposed. For example, if you feel upset because the scheme does not unfold per your ideas of fairness, you do not disassociate yourself from feeling troubled. Instead, you perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Therefore, since its counterpart is revealed, you feel troubled but untroubled for a moment. Hereafter, you feel complete because you are in the duality flow, thus in sync with the brain’s script of duality.

But since the duality flow is the constant interaction of opposites, you do not get it by meditating but by being physically active in an uncontrolled fashion, for example Nordic Walking. It makes it hard to initiate something yourself, so it is great for going with the duality flow. That said, the duality flow is not physical, so you feel it in the psychological sphere, not the body.

Over time the duality flow goes to non-duality. That is the end of all experiences, as it takes more than one to be aware of being someone. Consequently, you are not there and never were anywhere because that requires more than one. Still, you are everywhere because non-duality is formless, thus endless.

While appearing to be someone in a world of duality, you can take a break from it to have a preview of non-duality – for example, via a state of not-knowing (hack #5.2) or glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One (hack #6.2). During such a break, you are in the bliss of nothing, which feels like walking on clouds, even though you may be walking along a busy street. But since it calls for more than one to feel something, the preview is like a movie trailer which is not the movie. In other words, the preview of non-duality is a simulation.

However, the experience of duality falls apart after 20 minutes, 45 at most, if you do not constantly confirm it. Read more about that here. Therefore, since all experiences are twofold, the experience of being someone is over. Hence you can only take small breaks from duality if you want to return to the fantasy of being someone. In that case, you better stay with the duality flow, experiencing being someone enjoying the constant interaction of opposites while gently having the belief in duality phased out.

You can also have fun with twofoldness while having the belief in duality undone by applying hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation and/or hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness. Those hacks, like the duality flow, are based on the acknowledgement of duality, so, contrary to taking a break from it, they do not surpass duality unless applied with so much devotion that you are blown out, thus not somebody anymore.

Every moment is the perfect moment in non-duality because it is one perpetual present. In a world of duality, that is simulated by a state of not-knowing where experiences are not perceived to make a difference.

Since your internal comments about the world generally are singular, thus cut off from their complementary part, you feel incomplete. But if you perceive your single-minded comments as ‘it is what it is,’ they open up and reveal themselves as twofold, thus making you feel complete. You may not catch the opposing elements of the duality pairs that unfold because their interaction, like breathing in and out, feels so natural that you cannot help but laugh while waves of polarities hurriedly but calmly wash away your narrow-minded conclusions.

Being special and depressed, or basic and happy, or nobody and blissful

The special self wants to make selected ones feel unique, so they depend on it to be appreciated.

The special self is always looking for errors in its personality to correct them, thus appearing in control. But the basic self does not consider itself in charge of anything. Instead, it sees itself as a servant of everything because it adjusts to the flow of thoughts coming from the brain, which does not know about personal preferences but what is in the best interest of the whole.

Thinking you are in control, you are under enormous pressure. You must always look for thoughts that can be used to compose a perception of your experiences to prove that you, not the brain, are in control.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You hit the buttons on the remote control to get specific channels on the TV. It is not difficult, so it does not establish you as essential. But if you imagine you are the master of buttons, you appear more important, although what is in the movie you may get is beyond your influence.

As you can see, being the special self is not about what you do but the thoughts concerning it. Especially thoughts in the category of master and servant – like when you think you master the remote control, your coffee machine, children or pets. Or if you have a boss that puts you down, but you still seem to be on top of it by thinking, you could do it much better.

The special self always finds something about others that it judges as wrong. Hence they become the imperfect background for its perfection.

When the special self perceives to fail, it takes on being secondary. Thus the failure does not seem to have been caused by itself but by somebody else.

When a ball is coming your way, it´s a natural reflex to respond and following such reflexes is pure fun.

Sometimes a doctor may check the function of a body by knocking on special points to see if the involuntary movements work. But everything you think that you do voluntarily is automatic. If you believe in being in control, you have worked hard to perceive the body’s activity as generated by you.

To fabricate this perception, you suppress your reaction to the reflexes that do not fit into your idea of calling the shots. Thus you become a person who seems to do everything by your own choice. And others appear to be doing things against or for you by their choice. However, keeping up this impression is hard because you always have to hide that the brain administers everything you do.

Therefore, not hiding that but gladly serving the brain, you are following your nature, thus feeling free.

The basic self’s perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Therefore, since feeling the flow of happiness, it does not need to be or achieve something special to feel good. But the special self is out of sync with the flow, so it does not feel its happy vibe. Instead, it tries to create it by looking for special moments in the past to replicate in the present to feel special.

If the special self discovers that others have interpreted something it did as wrong, it avoids feeling guilty by shouting, »Look what you made me do.«

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences the brain produces to make you feel like someone can, in many ways, be compared to the news that Facebook generates for you. Based on the info Facebook has gathered about you, it collects what its artificial intelligence predicts you wish to see, regardless it is fake or not. However, unlike Facebook, the brain has all your info, so the experiences you get from it are based on you. Thus what you experience is what you are. That cannot be altered – only your perception of it.

A world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain. But since it cannot manifest its fabrication, it has made a self that feels the experiences it produces, so it seems to confirm a world defined by time and space is real, which in return seems to prove the self is a substantial being in a tangible world. In other words, what and where you believe in being is a brain fantasy. Consequently, there is nothing real to confirm the brain’s existence, wherefore nothing is making the fantasy of you as someone in a world defined by time and space – just like nobody is making a dream and nobody is in it.

The special self avoids being part of the whole. Instead, it concentrates on those elements which it can manipulate into admiring it for being unique. Those the special self cannot control, it claims, are dominating. It does all that to escape its self-hatred. When not succeeding, the special self considers letting go of something because that reestablishes it as in control of itself.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Again and again, the special self likes to show off as if it has invaluable insights from extraordinary experiences that can help others get better. However, it is as impossible as helping someone in a dream. Therefore, the special self pieces together an interpretation of its interaction with others that, in retrospect, establishes itself as someone who has helped them get better.

Though it may not succeed in manipulating others into believing this, it often succeeds in convincing at least one person by making that person feel so wanted and loved that it thinks it cannot live without the one making it feel that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to be part of something important, not to feel alone. Thus it checks all notifications on Facebook and makes sure to like what its friends write so that it will like it and be liked by them, and they all are confirmed to be together in a group of extraordinary people. That is, if you believe there is something in cyberspace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot escape the hell of the self-discipline required to uphold the perception of being special if you are afraid of losing something. And this you are, as long as you believe to be and have something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If somebody triggers an old feeling of rejection in the special self, it first interprets it as an attack. Next, it justifies feeling rejected by the attack. Therefore, since the feeling seems to originate in the attacker, the special self concludes the feeling does not come from itself. If the perceived attacker exposes this self-deception, the special self points out something from the past to make the attacker feel guilty. Thus the special self is off the hook and can rest assured that it is loved and the attacker is not.

If you justify your unpleasant emotions with something judged as flawed in the world, those feelings are buried in a mental drama of fairness. For example, when you feel angry, it is obscured by the sad story you keep telling about the world to establish you are unfairly treated by it. Hence feeling angry has been removed from your awareness and replaced by a mental concept of being mistreated. This spin also hides, you fear the world will get back at you for blaming it for your negative emotions.

However, this is too shameful to admit. So to save face when you feel attacked by the world, you repeat the story of being unfairly treated to prove you are innocent. But to uphold your innocence, you must continuously suppress feeling selfish, greed, anger and envy, which you do by changing the focus from yourself to others. You keep it at them by pointing out these attributes in them in a way you instinctively know they are ashamed of. You are very good at that, and your friends know it. Nevertheless, they do not expose you because they also look for someone to attack, so they feel off the hook. That is why they recognise it in you.

To hide that you and like-minded ones hate everybody, you meet in special groups where you hug and share in a collectively agreed way of being united. Yet, it is not feelings of love but the wish to hide they hate each other that connects them. Naturally, nobody wants to acknowledge this, least of all do they want to talk about it in the group because if you do not censor yourself to speak and act within the language of love established by the group, or its mentor, you are expelled. And then there is nowhere to go to find relief from your despair.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not appear in a physical world to learn something. Everything you encounter is made from empty space. The only purpose of your experiences, including those interpreted as spiritual and as you as someone, is to feel entertained by nothing. Read more about that here.

It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love. Consequently, you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the perceived feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of expectations being met.

Nobody is unjustly treated in the brain’s script. It is all about being entertained by duality, which you are when perceiving your reaction to your experiences as it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, this makes you feel complete

Should you have conditioned yourself to feel relaxed when you hear a specific kind of music, you find yourself in a story where you know you are supposed to feel relaxed every time you hear this music. In other words, what you believe in feeling is a product of your story. And as most of what you believe in feeling rests on stories, you are hardly ever in touch with your emotions but with how you have conditioned yourself to respond to something. That suits the special self very well. It does not want to experience genuine feelings but how it is supposed to feel them when being what it imagines it is.

Even though waves have different lengths of life and may look like they differ, they all consist of water. Therefore, as they all contain the same, none of them has something that can make them more special than the others.

If you, in your part of the world, are supposed to feel disrespected when someone is more than 15 minutes late for a meeting, you can, in a rational way, prove to others that you are in the right when you claim to feel hurt. But since rationally explaining a feeling changes it into a mental concept, you do not feel hurt. Instead, you feel victorious because you convinced others you were right about being hurt.

However, the feeling of victory only lasts as long as others are willing to listen to your story of being unfairly treated. No worries. If you perceive the meaning you have assigned to your story as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing in it adds up to something specific. Hence the story cannot be used to justify being unfairly treated, thus not suppressing what you actually feel, which in the world of duality always is twofold. Therefore in sync with duality, you feel so fulfilled that you do not need the satisfaction of being in the right. Read more about made-up feelings here.

The stories you make to hide what you feel sooner or later clash with the actual experiences of the world where you seem to be. Thus you feel very confused.

In the past, the special self made a hateful story it uses for perceiving the present, so it seems to confirm its past judgment of others as evil. And since the past, therefore, appears to repeat itself, the special self can rest assured in its perception of itself as good and others as bad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The English language suits the special self because it is built upon the ‘I’ as primary and others as secondary. You do not talk with others but to them. And when you speak about friends and yourself, you always start by mentioning yourself.

It takes so much time and effort to invent a special self from which selected experiences are eliminated or changed, so you appear to be absent of power strivings, selfishness, greed, anger, negative thoughts or whatever you assume to be politically incorrect. It feels restricting, whereas you feel free when not altering or rejecting something in your perception to shape your image into something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs and the special self excludes the apparently dark side of those in its perception of itself to appear as someone definitive, the power of duality is not expressed but suppressed. And even though the special self never feels it has enough energy, it does not correct its perception. It fears it will be devoured by the darkness it has excluded if it includes it.

It is right about being terminated. But only as someone definitive and not in the way it expects. The uncontrolled energy of suppressed feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath.* In this state of not-knowing,* there is no awareness of being somebody. Hence all that is left is the bliss of nothing from which the self returns to a world of duality with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since darkness and lightness are perceived as two sides of the same coin that interacts to define each other, it gets the power of the duality flow. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing* does not reveal non-duality, but that a world of duality is nothing. The result of this revelation is not that you choose to return to non-duality because that requires more than one. Instead, you return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of duality as a basic self.

Being basic, you sooner or later feel so relaxed that you forget to choose, and since not-choosing does not require more than one, the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.
