Inclusiveness is a journey without distance to that which is endless, namely non-duality

A FORGOTTEN LAND
A young man had heard about a wise old man who knew the way to the Enlightenment of that which is One. And since the young man dreamed about becoming Enlightened, he looked for the old man until he found him in an obscure place far from everything. Then, very excited, the young man asked the old one if he would reveal the Enlightenment of that which is One, and the old man answered: »No problem if you are willing to work for it.«
»Of course,« said the young man, who was eager to get started, but a little surprised when the old man asked him to dig a ditch around his house. He assumed the old man was poor and that all secrets would be revealed if he did it for free.
He did his best to impress the old man who kept saying the work was not good enough. It could be much better, and the ditch should be much deeper. When the old man finally seemed satisfied, the young one assumed he would be rewarded for his hard work.
EXPECTING SOMETHING FOR SOMETHING
For about a week, the young man patiently waited for the old man to reveal the Enlightenment of that which is One. And although the old man said nothing, the young man treated him with much respect, thinking that would make him feel so good that he would reveal the Enlightenment of that which is One. But the old man did not approach the young man for weeks until, one day, he quietly asked him to fill up the ditch again.
The young man freaked out and started to think the old man had lost his mind, but he decided to see what would happen if he did what he was told. And so he filled up the ditch until one could hardly see there ever had been one.
A SHITTY AWARD
The young man was very proud of his work, and when the old man asked him to meet at his house a little later, he thought all secrets would be revealed. Hence he opened the door to the house with a big smile. But it did not last long because the old man threw a bucket of cow shit on the young man from his hiding place above the door. That made the young man angrier than ever in his life – especially because through the shit, he saw how amazed the old man looked.
He left the old man furiously, thinking he had wasted months of his precious life with this sadistic man, who knew nothing about the Enlightenment of that which is One. However, after some time, he returned, and so one more time, he kindly asked the old man to teach him the secret way to the Enlightenment of that which is One.
Again the old man said yes and gave him one meaningless assignment after the other. A year went on like that, and when the old man one day again threw a bucket of cow shit on the young man, he quietly looked at the old man with a happy smile.
The young man neither felt young nor old anymore and not looking for secrets to be revealed in the future. He was not looking for anything at all, and neither did he assume that he in any way had done or was anything special. He was empty, and in the emptiness, he saw nothing. Thus there was not something to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One.
NEITHER SUCCESS NOR FAILURE
The above may be a mix of stories Alexius heard in his 20s. He considered them spaced out and not in touch with modern life, which he assumed was about being recognised as somebody, like when he entered a disco, and the DJ turned down the music to greet him through the speakers. Nowadays, nobody remembers him because he does not do something perceived as a success. But since writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings is not about that, he cannot fail.

The origin of Alexius’ Duality Hacks
Updated May 31, 2023

Since Alexius hardly has read any scriptures or so-called spiritual books, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are not based on an existing religion or philosophy, nor are they meant to be a new one but to undo the belief in anything that requires more than one.
Alexius does not know how he came about hacks #1-10 and #12 (see Alexius’ Duality Hacks). They evolved by themselves while writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. He was very surprised about Duality Hack #5-8, which ended with a recommendation to follow the duality flow to non-duality. But he was even more surprised about the concept of hack #12, which is that you return to oneness two by two since that is how you imagined leaving it.
The empty breath (Duality Hack #9) was no surprise to Alexius because he had been connected with that for ages. He is not sure how it happened initially, probably through devotion. But the way advised in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings about going with speedy thoughts came to him while waiting a long time for a doctor.
To his knowledge, nobody else has written something like Alexius’ Duality Hacks. There is much written about Enlightenment, but nobody seems to talk about the Enlightenment of that which is One and glimpses of it. Nor does anybody mention how quickly you can hear and feel the vibration Aum and Sohang symbolise as Alexius does in Life has no secrets, deduced from his many years of hearing and feeling the echo of oneness.
But the ways he describes in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them have been around for ages, although not as Alexius presents them. He heard about them in his youth. However, the speaker may not have spoken from personal experiences but second-hand knowledge because, among others, he referred to the Gheranda Samhita, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Shiva Samhita, The Self Realisation Fellowship of Parahamsa Yogananda, and followers of Shri Swarupanand. Alexius does not know the mentioned or how they apply the techniques.

Guru is a Hindi word for teacher, and as such, it is deeply founded in the belief of being in a world where there seems to be more than one because it requires more than one to teach or learn something. In other words, generally, a guru is no different from anybody else, profiting from the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.
Anyhow, Alexius soon had so many glimpses of Enlightenment that he forgot to see them with different shapes and colours. Thus, he welcomed the Enlightenment of that which is One (see Duality Hack #10 The Enlightenment of that which is One). Unfortunately, he cannot offer a technique for that because the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be shared since it requires more than one. But he can say that forgetting to be someone definitive, or if not looking more, nothing hides the Enlightenment of that which is One. Fortunately, applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks eventually brings you into a state of not-knowing. Remaining there for more than 20 minutes, maybe 45, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in.
On the other hand, glimpses of Enlightenment can be shared. And since Alexius experience them continually, his guidance about them is not based on second-hand knowledge. That is why they may not be similar to what you hear from those interpreting old scriptures because, without the Enlightened of that which is One, you are bound to misinterpret them.
Most assume getting Enlightened makes you an amazing person. But the Enlightenment of that which is One does not change anything since that requires more than one. In other words, Alexius was not changed when he momentarily stepped aside so that there was nothing for the light to suck through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. Nevertheless, he is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.
Unfortunately, that does not apply to most of those talking about Enlightenment. What they say is not geared toward welcoming but fending off the Enlightenment of that which is One. For example, the old-school gurus may speak dimly about kundalini, supposedly mixing body and spirit so that you become full of bliss and wisdom. And newer gurus have speculative teachings about living in the now, realising the self or a higher purpose. Both approaches appeal to those who want their feelings of inferiority replaced with feelings of spiritual grandeur, so they seem acknowledged as someone special part of something higher.

However, it requires more than one to fuse the body and spirit, to be full of light, live in the now, or realise the self. Therefore, since they promise you something you can only get in a world where there seems to be more than one, what you get is fake because there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.
Do not count on the ways for a hypothetical better life in the future. Reality is one perpetual present. Hence tomorrow is an illusion.
The same applies to seeing, hearing, feeling or tasting glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. That is why Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings distinguish between the Enlightenment of that which is One and its glimpses. The latter is an experience or a state of being, thus part of a world where there seems to be more than one. But the Enlightenment of that which is One is not an experience, nor any kind of being, as it takes more than one to be aware of something. In other words, it is not part of a world where there seems to be more than one. On the contrary, it erases all memories of more than one.
But it does not seem to bother those teaching about kundalini, higher self, and freedom in the now that no one gets it. On the contrary, that means their followers continue paying money, giving hugs, or whatever the teacher needs to feel loved or powerful.
Fortunately, this is not what Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings are about. They ask for nothing and offer nothing because you have never left oneness since it is formless, thus endless.

In the limited world of the senses, or everywhere and nowhere
Updated April 7, 2023

No matter how many beautiful photos you get of the mountain in the background, they have nothing to do with its complete look. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
In a world defined by time and space, everybody believes in magic. A child, for example, believes Christmas presents come from Santa Claus, although it does not seem realistic. And grown-ups believe that the more they become and get materially or spiritually, the happier they become.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
The outward-facing senses create such expressive images that we choose to believe in a world where everything is separated by time and space. However, the more the outward-facing senses are turned off, the more the abstractness of the inward-facing senses takes over. Thus, you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One while still aware of the world of the outward-facing senses.
Experiencing these glimpses can be compared to seeing a movie trailer. But entering the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be compared to attending the whole movie because that is an experience, and the Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced since all the senses must be turned off to enter it.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
If you are aware of something, although ethereal, you are not in the Enlightenment of that which is One but have glimpses of it through the inward-facing senses. Many mistakes this for being enlightened, thus imagining they have the power to fuse heaven and earth and create a better world.
So they put together a new philosophy based on their interpretation of their glimpses, mixed with speculative ideas about spirituality and ancient meditation traditions.
For example, they may encourage you not to be conditioned so you can be in the now. But the experience of that or anything else is based on the conditioned belief that you are someone in a world defined by time and space. However, according to science, this world is an empty space perceived as something. Therefore, it is not a fact but an idea that you are someone definitive, which you blindly follow to establish your existence in a world defined by time and space, thus disguising the formlessness of oneness.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

This photo of the same mountain in the first photo is shot from another level. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
The tension from consistently doing something to appear as someone makes you feel definite. But the more you feel tangible, the more the Enlightenment of that which is One is fenced out.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
The more you think you know about the Enlightenment of that which is One, the more you block it out. That is why the purpose of Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings is not to help you understand but to help you unlearn what you believe in knowing.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Metaphorically, the Enlightenment of that which is One is a moment that starts in a dream of something. Yet, at the same moment, the dream is over. But since you were not in the dream, you are not awakened with a new consciousness. On the contrary, there is no awareness of you ever having been someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. There is just one bright light – so intense that there is nothing to see, thus nothing to be. Hence what has been stripped free of the belief in something is sucked through a black gap into the formlessness of oneness.
That is why those who talk about their exciting experiences of Enlightenment have not, as nobody, been sucked through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. Instead, they held onto their belief in being somebody to fence off the Enlightenment of that which is One, thus only having glimpses of it, which often is used to promote themselves as someone who has seen a vast empty space full of pure love, consciousness, bliss, or something else, that makes them appear to have something better than others. Having something, though, has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One because it takes more than one to have anything.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

This is a photo of the same mountain as in the other pictures in this article. Again we see that we can have many different glimpses of it and that they are all coloured by the one having the glimpses. However, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not coloured by the one experiencing. It is impossible to do that since it requires more than one. In other words, there is nothing personal about the Enlightenment of that which is One. Yet, describing is like everything else, where more than one seems involved, coloured by the personality of the describer as well as by the one interpreting it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Maybe Mozart’s inspiration to compose music came from musical glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. That is not to say his music sounds like ethereal harmonies, but its flow resembles the effortless elegance and beauty of celestial harmonies. However, that does not apply when Mozart overrides the natural flow to reach a dramatic peak. There is no drama in ethereal harmonies because they accompany one perpetual present, which has no beginning and end, thus no drama.
The ethereal harmonies may also inspire the electronic music that seems without a beginning, achieved through glitches, other sonic artefacts, slowed-played steel guitar, chimes and bells, and analogue or analogue or synth sounds mixed with piano loops. However, these effects result in a harder edge and a less transparent sound than the ethereal harmonies, which have a crystal clear but transparent sound with no sonic artefacts needed to produce spiciness. Actually, ethereal harmonies arise from not trying to achieve something.
But New-age music that sounds like dreamy symphonies of otherworldly states do not resemble ethereal harmonies because it is not symphonic or anything else that suggests a progression in linear time. Nor is it otherworldly because there is no world since oneness is formless, thus endless.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
There are no degrees of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It cannot be smaller or bigger because oneness is formless. However, there are degrees of everything in a world defined by time and space. That is why you can experience glimpses of Enlightenment on many levels depending on how much the outward-facing senses are turned off.
However, no matter the level, no glimpse comes close to the Enlightenment of that which is One because there are no levels in oneness. Nonetheless, the glimpses of Enlightenment slowly but surely undo the belief that differences make a difference. Thus you eventually welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, which immediately erases the belief in more than one.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Here is yet another glimpse of the same mountain in the other photos. But you do not know the mountain since all the glimpses are different. Likewise, as long as you see glimpses of Enlightenment, you are not in the Enlightenment of that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Since it takes more than one to be aware of something, it is impossible to welcome Enlightenment of that which is one while sensing something.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Welcoming the Enlightenment of that which is one is like being transported in a driverless car that drives so fast that the glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is one merge into one bright light, tone, emotion or taste, absorbing everything definable, so nothing is carried into the formlessness of oneness.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
You do not find the Enlightenment of that which is One like you find other things in a world of something. But when you do not try to find anything, there is nothing to hide it.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be seen. That is why it appears hidden as long as you look for something.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Trying to extract a specific way to the Enlightenment of that which is One or its glimpses from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings will not help you. It is better to forget all words about it and thrust the light, sound, feeling, or taste of the Enlightenment of that which is One to do its thing when you have a willingness not to be someone definitive.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Many think they are spiritual when they use the inward-facing senses instead of the outward-facing ones. But even though you can say the inward-facing senses are closer to the reality of oneness, they are still part of a world that can be sensed. And oneness cannot be sensed because it takes more than One to be aware of something. That said, the inward-facing senses can be a big help in realising that everything experienced hides what cannot be experienced, namely that which is One.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Although oneness is endless, it does not last forever. On the contrary, it lasts no time because it is one perpetual present. That is why the story of this never-ending moment cannot be told in a world where everything has a beginning and end. Therefore, if you want to hear it, you must leave the belief in being a limited being. However, without this belief, you cannot hear something specific. No worries. Not believing to be limited, you are the story of one perpetual present.

The ins and outs of the inward-facing senses
Updated April 7, 2023

When not focussing on something specific, the world of the outward-facing senses becomes blurry. Hence the world of the inward-facing senses opens up. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Alexius mainly experiences the world of the inward-facing senses and its glimpses of Enlightenment before falling asleep, giving the world of the outward-facing senses minimum attention, contrary to during the day when they get the most.
In a state of not-knowing, he often has visual glimpses of the Enlightenment of one which seems to swirl around the tip of his nose. He does not see his nose, though, or anything physical and is not aware of how long time it last. Probably less than 30 minutes because the brain falls into a coma if there is nobody to confirm its fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one (read more about that here).
The empty breath can bring about a state of not-knowing – also inclusiveness, pretending to be someone definitive, seeing symbols of life in the world or being alone together (see Alexius’ Duality Hacks #9, 3, 4, 3 and 12)). However, since it is a state of not-knowing we cannot know if the duality hacks bring about the same state. Anyhow, let us return to Alexius in a state of not-knowing when about to sleep:
When the empty breath arrange the proportion of the inward and outward-facing senses, there is neither inside nor outside.

It seems like ages ago when Alexius enjoyed travelling in worlds of lucid light. Nowadays, he prefers not to see anything, thus as nothing falling through a black hole into the formlessness of oneness. See the article The ins and outs of a black hole.
A BLISSFUL NIGHT OF NOT-KNOWING
When Alexius goes to sleep with a sleep mask and earplugs* plugged into his ears, the transparent sound of the empty breath transports him into worlds of light. Their lucid universes unfold at an extreme speed, or flowers open up in slow-mo until thoughts or feelings try to surface, and sleep sets in. Then, going into a deeper sleep, the visions of light are on and off. And when he wakes up in the morning, he hears ethereal harmonies.
You can read about hearing the transparent sound of the empty breath in the article What does the empty breath feel like?
Actually, that is a typical description from many years ago when the glimpses of Enlightenment were exciting journeys in enchanted worlds of light. Nowadays, Alexius does not care much for such experiences, which are exciting because, to some extent, they are recognisable. Instead, he is drawn to visions of abstract nothingness until they swirl together around a so-called black hole which is neither exciting nor relaxing. It just is.
BLISSFUL NIGHTS MAKE THE DAYS LIGHT
During the day, he is mostly with the outward-facing senses, but the night’s bliss lights them up. Besides, sometimes he hears the echo of oneness as a natural extension of the empty breath. And the taste of the Enlightenment of that which is One may follow him through the day.
The Enlightenment of that which is One is impersonal, but the vague memories of it is filtered by the personality. Since it cannot comprehed one perpetual present, the Enlightenment of that which is One is described as a personal experience in time and space. On the other hand, glimpses of enlightenment is solely a personal experience.

The eyes cannot see – they translate, or rather it is the brain that translates the frequencies it claims to receive from the eyes. Therefore, since your brain has fabricated what you believe to read, you have no idea what it says. When you acknowledge that, the Enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT ALEXIUS WRITES BECAUSE YOUR BRAIN EDITS IT
Be aware that the above is how Alexius experiences the world of the inward-facing senses when the world of the outward-facing senses gets less attention. But like you and he probably experience things differently in the world of the outward-facing senses, the same may apply to the world of the inward-facing senses. And regarding the Enlightenment of that which is One, his vague memories of not being someone are most likely selective (see Duality Hack #10 The Enlightenment of that which is One).
In other words, the descriptions you get in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings of the Enlightenment of that which is One and its glimpses are not absolute. Besides, you do not read what Alexius has written but your brain’s translation of it. And you may have added your interpretation on top of that. See Eyes do not see and Where to find the bliss of the empty breath.
The night can be full of restless dreams that seem very real until Alexius quietly wakes up to the sound of ethereal music that cancels out the night’s confusion so that he, full of clarity, gets out of bed.
Furthermore, his experience of the glimpses of Enlightenment is not constant. Some nights, he may not even experience them. Instead, thoughts or emotions take over and get him into the world of the outward-facing senses. No worries if that happens to you. It is a great way to see that thoughts and emotions have no power and are unnecessary when there is no need to be someone.
Best to forget all the descriptions from Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings about the glimpses of enlightenment. Because you can only remember them by interpreting them as something specific, which cannot be replicated in the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.

If the reason for closing your eyes is to cancel out the light from the world of the outward-facing senses, there is lucid light coming from the inward-facing senses. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
ANYTHING UPHOLD AS SOMETHING SPECIFIC ENDS THE TOUR OF THE INWARD-FACING SENSES
Suppose you like the last time you travelled in incredible worlds of special coloured light. So you try to replicate it. But it does not work because when you define glimpses of Enlightenment, they lose their abstractness and become something in the world of the outward-facing senses, thus not glimpses of Enlightenment.
In other words, you cannot do anything to be in the world of the inward-facing senses. That only works in a tangible world. But for the same reason, you can do something not to experience the world of the outward-facing senses – for example, putting on a sleeping mask when you go to bed.

When you completely turn off the outward and inward-facing, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. No image can be shown of that because it cannot be experienced since that calls for more than one. However, glimpses of Enlightenment can be experienced. One of the last ones you may have before they fuse into the Enlightenment of that which is One may look like a horse head. A black hole sometimes looks like just before there is nothing but intense light. Nobody knows if the light blasts out of the hole or into it because the light is so blinding that you cease to exist as someone definitive. That is why nothing is sucked into the black hole, which is no more. There is just a gentle void transporting nothing into the formlessness of oneness.
THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES ARE EQUALLY UNREAL
If you get the impression from reading Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings that the inward-facing senses are less deceptive than the outward ones, you have chosen to be deceived into believing that you can become better, higher or wiser by looking inside. If that is your purpose, the inward-facing senses will cause you as much suffering as the outer ones.
But if your purpose is to become nobody so that there is not somebody to hide the formlessness of oneness, the inward-facing senses will speed up the undoing of the belief in being someone in a world of something.

Alexius has recently explored gaps in those worlds on his nightly travels in lucid worlds. He does not see but senses them. If he enters where he senses one, it expands without making an opening. Then the lucid worlds are gone, and Alexius does not sense anything until he suddenly senses he is revitalised. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
EXTRA: THE GAP
When you – with eyes closed, travel in the lucid worlds of the inward-facing senses, there are no sudden surprises. Everything is a smooth transition. It is like going nowhere but everywhere. But recently, Alexius discovered gaps in the lucid worlds. When deeply relaxed in the world of the inward-facing senses, a circular gap appears on the surface of changing light. The crack expands and looks like a little crater without a hole when you look at it. So, in a way, everything seems the same until you go into the sensed gap. However, entering it is not a progression but a total changeover. The lucid world disappears without any transition.
If it is replaced by something, Alexius does not know because he dozes off immediately like he has been sedated. Nor does he know when he wakes up revitalised or if it is another aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One. Unlike the aspects mentioned in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them, The Gap does not seem to be mentioned anywhere. He could probably write a new hack about it, but he is tired of writing and anything else that requires more than one.
That said, he adds that he can now sense and enter gaps in anything with open eyes for a shorter time after having done it with his eyes closed. But the gaps reveal themselves after a while when he feels comfortable in the duality flow. So unlike the empty breath, they are not initiated by speedy thoughts but by feeling laid-back. Also, unlike the empty breath, it does not feel like entering the bliss of nothing.
Alexius does not know what is on the other side of the gap, if there is another side, or if he is still there. But he knows that in this vacuum, he forgets what and where he is for a moment, thus feeling like he disappears into eternity.** When it is over, it appears to have healed the body, but maybe that is because the body relaxes when Alexius forgets his conditioned view of the world. That said, always consult a healthcare professional when the body does not function properly.
*) The Sleep Mask and Ear Protection Ear Plugs suit Alexius perfectly for turning off the outward-facing senses and going into the world of the inner ones before going to sleep, but maybe others are better suited for you.
**) It is not a reference to psychedelic tripping. Alexius has no experience with drugs.

Life has no secrets
Updated April 23, 2023

Searching comes from the desire to be and has more than the oneness of life, but there is no more than that since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Life has no secrets. It is impossible because it is that which is one, and it takes more than one to hide anything. So why do people look for the meaning of life? The answer lies in the previous sentence. Life is that which is One, so if you believe in being in a world where there seems to be more than one, you are without life. In other words, even though the oneness of life makes it possible to experience a world where there seems to be more than one, it is not there – just like a physical body is not in a dream, regardless of being the host of it.
Some assume The Word of God is something written in a book like The New Testament, although nothing in it indicates that. Actually, The Word of God can neither be written or spoken. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
»In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.
Unfortunately most of those reading the New Testament reckon that the book is The Word of God. But as god is that which is One and it takes more than one to write or read, the New Testament has nothing to do with The Word of God.
However, an echo of life can be heard and felt in a world where there seems to be more than one. Christianity calls it The Word of God, and Eastern religions often symbolise it with the words Aum and Sohang. You could say that the oneness of life sends out an echo of itself to call you home. The echo does not reveal oneness but what obscures it, namely the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one. That said, it is, of course, a metaphor that oneness is calling you home because you never left it since it is formless, thus endless,
Nevertheless, this article is written within the context of the belief that it is possible to be and have more than one. Within this context, hearing or feeling the echo of oneness is a call to go home. However, the echo has no beginning and end, so it is not a word that can be written or spoken. Nevertheless, it is very easy to hear and feel it.

No chanting or reading in scriptures is necessary to hear or feel the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. It comes to you automatically when you do not focus or concentrate on something specific, thus not someone definitive but the unpronounceable vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE VIBRATION THAT AUM, SOHANG OR THE WORD OF GOD SYMBOLISES IS …
… not a secret. Yet it appears hidden if you search for an elitist understanding rather than hearing or feeling the vibration, which can be heard or felt whenever you do not focus on hearing or feeling something specific.
When you hear or feel the unpronounceable echo of oneness, the sense of being someone definitive disappears. Thus there is nothing to transform.
For ages, people have been chanting Aum and Sohang or speculating about the meaning of The Word of God, assuming their secret would miraculously be revealed if they kept trying. But oneness does not make miracles or reveal anything because it takes more than one to do anything.
However, it only takes one chant of Aum or Sohang to hear or feel the echo of oneness, provided you do not look for peak experiences of an almighty god, love or something mysterious and sensational that can be mentally explained.
TO TUNE IN TO THE ECHO OF ONENESS …
… you say AU very slowly, whereafter M almost hangs in the air as a whispering sound that turns into a gentle humming, undoing the definition of you as someone who is somewhere specific. That is the echo of oneness. If you feel like smiling, you got it.
You can also get in touch with the distant humming of oneness by saying sohang – eventually combined with listening to the sound from the breath. You say SO within you when breathing in. Then, after a tiny break, you say HANG when breathing out. The SO is not essential except for tuning in. The same applies to the first part of HANG. After saying SO-HA(N), you remain on (A)NG at the end of breathing out. When it fades out, you hear the humming, the echo of oneness, in the silence.
Another way to hear the echo of oneness is to stop focusing on any sound in particular until you cannot distinguish the sounds you hear. Hence they turn into one sound, namely the echo of oneness.
You do not have to sit in a particular posture, repeat a mantra, chant, pray, wear unique clothes or be in a specific place with special people to hear the echo of oneness. Neither does there have to be stillness inside or outside of you. All you have to do is be devoted to what you do.
One of the first times Alexius sensed the humming from the edge of the universe, he was busy handing out flyers on a pedestrian street. He was so devoted to it that the noise of the road became a distant sound fusing into a humming, which, although remote, cancelled out the feeling of being there. It was like the sum of all feelings turned into a transparent one.
KNOWING IT IS THERE, IT IS EASIER TO CONNECT
When Alexius was a child, he liked the music from a radio station on a frequency between two noisy stations. But as he knew of its existence and where to look, he succeeded in tuning into it with much determination and the finest subtlety.
Likewise, since you now know it is possible to get the humming of oneness from the edge of the universe regardless of the world’s noise, you can tune into it through devotion to your present activity or via Aum or Sohang. If there appears to be too much noise in the head, join it until it fuses into one sound.

TO FEEL THE ECHO OF ONENESS
Apart from hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you can also feel it – especially if you are more emotional than audio-minded. Just do the same as above but put more weight into feeling it. The feeling of the primordial vibration can be likened to sensing your body purring like a cat, or like it trembles of fear but without fearing anything, or shaking of coldness but more lightly and not feeling cold, or feeling the bubbling effect in the body from quickly drinking the foam of Coca-Cola.*
When the feeling gets more intense, it may feel like you are the vibration from an earthquake or a giant laundry machine on the spin cycle. It is felt in the body and outside as if there is no transition between the body and the appearances outside it. If you do not panic but go with its flow, you forget about the body and anything outside of it, so no memory seems to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely, the formlessness of oneness.
However, since this article is not about the formlessness of oneness but something that can be experienced, we continue our talk about the primordial vibration from the edge of the universe. Feeling or hearing it is the same – like two sides of the same coin. Nevertheless, it is not advisable to do that simultaneously. Instead, do it one at a time.
Alexius is more into hearing than feeling something, so it took him a long time to feel the echo of oneness. When he finally did – after several years – it was so intense that the belief in being someone specific was momentarily undone. Thus the echo of oneness had brought him into the Enlightenment of that which is One, where you do not feel anything since that requires more than one. Read about that in Forgetting the world of the outward-facing senses.

Many may already have heard or felt the echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. Still, as they are biassed towards something mysterious and sensational, they do not pay attention to the quiet humming that constantly is there because it is the basis for the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one. WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Some people complain that they hear their neighbour vacuuming when they meditate. But most likely, the neighbour is asleep. And it is not the sound of a vacuum cleaner they hear but the distant humming from the edge of the universe that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises. Being aware of the vibration can also be compared to hearing the distant sound of the air conditioning in an airport, a wave at the shore that never stops going up, or the sound from the edge of breathing in or out.
But since most look for an exceptional experience, they brush off something so simple as the gentle humming from the edge of the universe.
REMEMBERING YOUR HOME
When you are already familiar with the humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise, you do not always tune into it if you still want to appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. But you may tune into it once in a while to ensure you have not forgotten the key to the formlessness of oneness – just like you sometimes check your pocket to hear or feel if the key to your home is there.

ALEXIUS AND THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The above is Alexius’ way of communicating, how you can hear and feel the echo of oneness. Using Aum or Sohang as a stepping stone is not a new idea. But so far, it has mainly been promoted in mysterious ways by people who do not hear or feel it themselves but hope that a miracle will happen if they repeat those words repeatedly. However, looking for that, they miss the gentle humming coming from the edge of the universe.
But it was not through the words Aum or Sohang that Alexius started to hear or feel the humming they symbolise. Since his teenage years, he has been used to being ‘lifted’ by this humming – for example, while watching a movie, walking, or sitting in a park. And so, when he was about 40 years old, it suddenly dawned on him that this is what people try to reach when chanting Aum or Sohang.
However, it is not about reaching but tuning in. When Alexius can do it, so can you because even though you may appear different from him, what makes it possible for the two of you to experience that you are different is the same, namely, the echo of oneness.
*) This is not meant as a recommendation of Coca-Cola. Alexius only tried it once in his childhood.

Alexius in Wonderland
Updated April 7, 2023

Those who hear or feel the humming echoing oneness far away cannot use it to improve themselves or the world. But they can be used by it as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely the formlessness of oneness. That does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. Nor does it mean they will cease to exist because they have never existed because there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which is One is real, it is impossible to be in a world where there is more than one. And yet, we appear to be there. However, one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One does not believe but pretends to be there, like when playing a computer game. That is why Alexius’ description below of the world standing still does not reflect reality but how Alexius experiences pretending to be where he is not. The same applies to listening to the echo of oneness or having other glimpses of Enlightenment.
THE WORLD STOOD STILL
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window and saw everything covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned him white while Donovan’s Jennifer Juniper was playing in the background.
He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. The air, he perceived as so thin that there was no space between anything. And although he noticed the music from his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of oneness.
Much later, on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and sometime later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around him, it was like there was no movement and no people. He did not know what was happening, nor did he try to figure it out because you do not need more when you hear the echo of oneness.
After being accustomed to hearing the echo of oneness, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that many people do not hear it because they expect those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding to get, nor any need for it when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. See Life has no secrets, if you want to learn how to do that.

Alexius never do anything so-called spiritual, such as meditation. But in the mornings, he goes for a long walk from where he often returns home after enjoying the echo of oneness here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE PRIMORDIAL VIBRATION
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes impressive sounds. But you do not sense those sounds when reading the word unless you have heard them before.
That is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. These words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But they will not remind you of the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, nor will the subtle sound you can hear from a computer when you are close to it.
The distant humming of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one like an echo. It is the engine of it but not in the sense that it produces it. That is impossible because it echoes that which has no beginning and end, so it cannot create anything specific. Still, its energy is used to uphold the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one, even though it is not in that fantasy – just like the dreamer’s energy makes it possible to have a dream but not to manifest the dreamer in the dream.
The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to oneness.
Therefore, the echo of oneness is not for you if you dream about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief. This primordial vibration knows nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is not something to experience, thus nothing that seems to hide the formlessness of oneness.

Having glimpses of Enlightenment is like having an orgasm because you momentarily forget the body. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING OR NOT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it. In this case, hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolises. You hear it when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.
But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.
Suppose you stop perceiving one of these aspects as something of several elements. In that case, there is no separation to establish you as somebody definitive. Hence the Enlightenment of that which is One set in beyond the senses (see Duality Hack #11 Going without distance to non-duality).

It is fun exploring the world of the outward-facing senses when you know it is make-believe. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy it? There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses.
If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through glasses of love. And since it is all make-believe, you may as well pretend to be in wonderland. See Duality Hack #2 Pretending to be twofold undoes duality. Especially if you do it with the duality flow because, in that case, your wonderland is contrasted by sorrow, so you feel wonderful when you are sad. See hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.
THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A TIMELESS JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with. Thus a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and a rapidly spiralling bright light outside it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.
However, the black hole has no end, so you do not reach oneness. No problem, there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. So you never left it to experience a world where there seems to be more than one.

The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them
Updated April 6, 2023

The echo of that which is One is often symbolised by the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. It comes from the edge of the universe, but since the inward-facing senses are not limited by time and space, via them, it takes no time to hear or feel the echo of oneness.
None of the facets of the Enlightenment of that which is One – bright light, transparent feelings, ethereal harmonies or the sweetness of oneness – can be experienced because it requires more than one to be conscious of something. Therefore, you are wrong if you think you have felt, seen, heard, or tasted the Enlightenment of that which is One. You have had glimpses of it. They are samples you experience via the inward-facing senses while still in the world of the outward-facing senses.
In other words, contrary to the Enlightenment of that which is One, having glimpses of it is not beyond the senses. This article is about how to experience these samples with the inward-facing senses while still in the world of the outward senses.
The purpose of the glimpses is to undo the belief in more than one gradually – or immediately if not having separate flashes, but one light, sound, feeling or taste. That said, you cannot have that because you are in the Enlightenment of that which is One which cannot be experienced, as it takes more than one to be conscious of something. Please beware, the four aspects do not mix, and you do not have to get to know them all to undo the belief in more than One. One is enough.
However, the ways described to do this will not work if you look forward to being or having more. Nevertheless, you do not have to restrain yourself from getting more sex or anything else as long as you perceive your reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ See hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.
THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The more you ignore the world defined by time and space, produced by the outward-facing senses, the more a world not limited by time and space is experienced by the inward-facing senses. Without time and space, it takes no time to go to the edge of the universe (read more about that here), where the echo of oneness has been used to create the fantasy world of time and space, which seems genuine until you feel or hear this primordial vibration, often symbolised by Aum, Sohang or The Word of God.
»With every exhalation the soul recites ‘Hang’ and with every inhalation it recites ‘So’. Thus every soul counts the mantra of Sohang (So plus Hang) twenty-one thousand and six-hundred times every day and night.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 84.
In Eastern religions the echo of oneness is symbolised by the word ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ and in the New Testament by ‘The Word of God’: »In the origin The Word had been existing and That Word had been existing with God and That Word was himself God.« John 1:1, Aramaic Bible in Plain English.
One who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One perceives ‘The Word’ in the above quote as a metaphor for the unpronounceable vibration you can feel or hear when not totally focused on the world of the outward-facing senses. But the unenlightened speculates about what exact words this qoute hints at, even though there is not a single verse in the Bible referring to ‘The Word of God’, as something that is written or can be spoken.

Glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One come from a black hole at the edge of the universe. However, this is not far away when you ignore the outward-facing senses and their world defined by time and space but instead go with the inward-facing ones because they are not ruled by time and space. Thus you can feel, see, hear, or taste the glimpses regardless of where you appear in the world of the outward-facing senses.
A way to ignore the outward-facing senses so you can feel or hear the echo of oneness with the inward-facing senses is not to be exclusive but inclusive. When you include all that you feel or hear – or are willing to do that – the sum of it is felt or heard by the inward-facing senses. It feels or sounds like the humming of nothing and everything. And it is like being both in the world of the outward and inward-facing senses. Read about inclusiveness vs exclusiveness in hack #4 Inclusiveness frees you from duality.
You can also use the word Aum or Sohang as a launching pad for feeling or hearing the humming from the edge of the universe. Read the article Life has no secrets to learn how to do that without spending years meditating.

When your eyes become single, there is no separation to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One.
THE THIRD EYE
Seeing glimpses of oneness is done via the inward-facing sense, often called the third eye, a single ‘eye’ between the two eyes above the eyebrows.
»The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.« Matt 6:22, King James Bible. This makes much sense to one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One but obviously not to the unenlightened, because in the new international version of the New Testament this sentence has been changed to: »The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.«
The enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome by completely ignoring the senses. First time this happened for Alexius was when he returned home totally exhausted after a long nights work of taxi driving and simply was too tired to focus.
In other words, to be offbeat, exhausted, confused or maybe even drunk is a way to forget to sense the world, thus nothing to hide the Enlightenment of that which is One. Actually, anything that is not part of a scheme to fabricate images defined by time and space will do.
If that includes drugs Alexius does not know, because he has not experienced them. Yet he can say from looking at others taking drugs, that it seems more about expanding the consciousness of a world where there seems to be more than one than undoing it.
»Direct your eyes toward the middle of the eyebrows and meditate upon your own self. It is Shambhavi Mudra, the most secret practice of all the Tantra scriptures.« Gherand Samhita, stanza 59.
The positioning of the body, while activating the third eye, does not matter, as long as the body does not bother you.
Practically speaking you can turn off the visual outward-facing sense and open the third eye by closing the eyes and lightly, without any concentration, hold a finger on the third eye. You can do it anywhere in any position. However, it is best to do in a dark room, so you do not think the revelation of light comes from the world of the outward-facing senses.
If having a vision like this and it is deciphered into an experience of different colours and shapes around a centre, it is a glimpse of ‘the Enlightenment of that which is One.’ But if you do not judge the apparent different colours and forms to make a difference or to come from somewhere specific, one bright and colourless light, that seems to explode from a gap in nowhere wipes out all thoughts collected to shape you as somebody so that nobody gracefully falls into the formlessness of oneness.
Since the eyes always looks for the greatest contrast of light, your closed eyes automatically search the darkness until they move inwards and upwards towards the third eye from where they settle at a lightshow radiating at such speed that its colours hardly is perceived to differ.
»Touching eyeballs as a feather, lightness between them opens into the heart and there permeates the cosmos.« Sochanda Tantra, stanza 13.
If your eyes do not automatically move inwards and upwards into the area of the inward-facing senses above the eyebrows, you may help them by gently pressing the thumb and middle finger on the outer corner of the eyeballs and the middle finger on the third eye.
However, this is not commendable, since even the slightest effort requires focus, and it is not focus but defocus that bids welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or its glimpses. Furthermore this may give you the impression that certain physical postures can open the third eye.
None of the inward-facing senses are reached via a specific posture or way of thinking. However, deactivating the outward-facing senses can be achieved in this way, so if you find a technique that seems helpful regarding this by all means go for it. But the fastest way to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to not know what and where you are.
A way to to deactivate the outward-facing senses is to use an eye massager such as RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression. Besides from turning off the outward-facing sense of seeing, the heat soften the eyes. And when they are relaxed, they do not focus. Hence they automatatically turn inwards and upwards to merge into the third eye.
»… and there shall be no light there, and they need no candle there, neither the light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light.« Rev. 22:5
The thought construction that seems to keep you together as someone tangible must be left at the edge of a black hole so that there is nothing to gently fall into the formlessness of oneness.
Consequently, you have glimpses of Enlightenmen. And if, metaphorically, your eyes become soft enough the glimpses merge into one bright white light, namely the Enlightenment of that which is One. It extracts all thoughts stored to make you appear as someone definitive, and leave them at the edge of what may look like a black hole, so there is nobody to experience the nothingness of you gently falling into the formlessness of oneness.
You can read more about a black hole in the article The ins and outs of a black hole.
The enlightenment of that which is one is not an out-of-body experience. It is not an experience at all. But its preliminary stages of bliss and compassion, which in the world probably is connected with the pineal gland, is something that may be felt as an out-of-body experience.
However, most are afraid of loosing their identity, so they settle for glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which is like a blissful out-of-body experience – presumably linked to the pineal gland which appears to foster states like that.
If you are not tempted to stop at this bliss, but to go where someone definitive cannot go, namely into the Enlightenment of that which i One, it is not an out-of-body experience. On the contrary, there is no experience at all, nor consciousness, because to be awate of something requires more than one.
If you want to leave the Enlightenment of that which is One and be reshaped as someone definitive, you must recollect the thoughts, that was left at the edge of a black hole to enter it as nobody.
Returning from the Enlightenment of that which is One to a world where there seems to be more than one, you cannot know, you have been at the other side of a black hole, because you were not there and there is no other side, since there is no more than that which is one. In other words, the person you appear to be is not Enlightened. Yet, due to vague memories of oneness, you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.
It is not possible though for somebody else to know this. You will hardly grasp it yourself. But for sure you grasp, that a world where there seems to be more than one is not real.
ETHEREAL HARMONIES
The airy music you can experience with the inward-facing senses is full of ethereal harmonies, probably floating out of a black hole at the edge of the universe.
»I heard a sound from heaven like the sound of cascading waters and like the rumbling of loud thunder. The sound I heard was also like harpists playing on their harps.« Revelation 14:2, Holman Christian Standard Bible.
Being used to take a ride in the world of the inward-facing senses, that opens up when the outward-facing senses are not fully activated to experience a world defined by time and space, you sense the first sentence of this quote refers to ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God,’ and that the second one to ethereal music.
»At midnight when not a single sound is heard, close your ears with both hands and do Purak Pranayama. Listen to the sounds in your right ear which are very pleasant. The first sound that you will hear is of a pine bird, the second of a flute, third of a cloud, fourth of a dragon bee, the fifth of a ringing bell and then of a gong of metal. Sounds of trumpet, drum etc. are also heard.
Except for having scim read The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita Alexius have not read religious scripts. Therefore, most of the words in the quote from Gherand Samhita are meaningless to him. But since he hears celestial music, it is easy to see the essence of the quote is the bliss of listening to ethereal harmonies. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Besides these, many other sounds are heard if it is practiced daily. These sounds are Anahata (unproduced) and come on their own accord. Nada is related to light. Light is related to mind, so mind gets itself merged in a sound which is the seat of the Lord. Therefore, practice of Bhramari gives Siddhi of Samadhi (i.e., makes Samadhi possible).
Mind gets eightfold more pleasure in the act of meditation than Japa (repeating God’s name), eightfold more interest in Tapas (penance) than the meditation, and eightfold more interest in music or sound than the Tapas. There is nothing greater than music.« Gherand Samhita, stanzas 77-81. Besides for the word ‘Nada’ meaning music Alexius does not know the meaning of the Hindi words in this quote, but hearing celestial music himself – though not so bombastic as described in this quote – he gets the overall meaning of it.

Using noise-cancelling headphones is a great way to close off the outward-facing sense of hearing. Alexius prefers in-ear headphones, though, as they can also be used when going to bed.
A practical way to stop hearing the world of the outward-fencing senses and listen to the music of the inward-fencing ones is to put both thumbs in your ears or use noise-cancelling headphones or in-ear headphones. Then without focusing or trying to define anything, be nothing but the ethereal music coming to you from what may seem far away.
To tune in, it is best not to go with the sounds from the left ear. They often come from busy thoughts. So instead, follow the harmonies that appear to come from an empty space outside the right ear. That said, do not pay too much attention to directions.
Maybe you will not hear ethereal harmonies immediately but the humming symbolised by ‘Aum’ or ‘Sohang’ or ‘The Word of God.’ If so, go with that glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One. It could also be that you ‘hear’ thoughts. But they will not disturb you from hearing eternal harmonies if that is what you want – nor from having visions of light, infinite sweetness or sublime intimacy.

Tasting the sweetness of oneness helps you not to focus on the world of the outward-facing senses. Since this eventually results in not perceiving the apparent differences to make a difference, there is no separation to hide that which is One.
THE TASTE OF ONENESS
The Taste of oneness can be compared to the foam on a milkshake with a few drops of honey and maybe a hint of either liquorice, strawberry, or mint. It can also be compared to how marshmallows – especially those with a flavour of strawberries – interact with the palate.
Some Chinese Herb Formulations or teas – for example Spring Dragon Longevity Tea – enhance the Taste of Oneness, provided you already are in touch with it. The same applies to the Ayurvedic teas, that Alexius have tasted that include liquorice.
But it is best not to compare the Taste of Oneness or other glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One to anything else because all comparisons are based on definitions from the past, thus cancelling out the ever-present glimpses of Enlightenment.
»Your lips drip nectar, my bride, honey and milk are under your tongue.« Song of Solomon 4:11.
»A land flowing with milk and honey« Exodus 3:8
»Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never be thirsty, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him as a well of water springing up into everlasting life.« John 4:10-4:14.
Even though this taste is called the nectar of life in some scriptures, you should not expect it to make you younger or inject you with more energy in the world of the outward-facing senses. Getting more is an illusion based on the belief that there is more than that which is One.
One way of undoing this belief is not to focus because without it, the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one become blurred. Thus different appearances do not seem to hide, there is no more than the formlessness of oneness. Fortunately, defocusing is a side-effect of the technique for the Taste of Oneness.
The inward-facing sense of taste does not only diminish the compulsive focusing on something definitive but also your cravings for more, for example sweets. The Taste of Oneness is always there. It is free, and you do not have to meditate or be pure to enjoy it. All you have to do is to put your tongue behind the uvula and devote yourself to the Taste of Oneness. If you cannot get your tongue all the way, it is not a problem. The technique is meant to help you deactivating the outward-facing senses and the only thing that really accomplish this, is the intention of doing that. In other words, reaching the uvula with your tongue is good enough to get the sweet taste of oneness. This is not a metaphor, nor second-hand knowledge but Alexius’ experience from tasting the subtle sweetness of oneness on both sides of the uvula the past 50 years. Another result of this technique is that the empty breath is activated. It expands the breathing, so the the body feel glorious. And the soft taste of oneness prevents you from focusing on the world of the outward-facing senses. Thus you feel absorded by the happiness of abstractness.
The Taste of Oneness unfolds under the tongue, when it is moved behind the uvula (the skin flap hanging down in the back of the mouth at the entrance to the throat). Placing it there makes you feel like you are not in the world even though you appear there. Besides it cutbacks the need to focus on the world of the outward–facing senses and the longing for more, especially sweets. That is if you devote yourself to it – no techniques work without devotion. Yet devotion can work without a technique.
To get the tongue behind the uvula you may have to press it backwards for a long time, maybe for months, and finally use a finger to push it the rest of the way. It can make you feel as if you are about to vomit. No worries – it is just a feeling. When you are used to keeping your tongue there, it is easy, and there is no sense of vomiting.
»Khechari Mudra is turning the tongue backwards into the cavity of the cranium and turning the eyes inwards toward the eyebrow center.« Haha-Yoga Pradipika, Chapter 3, stanzas 32-37.
To taste the sweetness of oneness, called Khechari Mudray in the above quote, you do not have to literally replicate the ancient technique. Neither do you have to push the tongue behind the uvula as Alexius wrote above. Reaching the soft area underneath the front of the uvula with the backside of the tongue will do. See also the explanation in the above caption.
Alexius started to apply the technique for The Taste of Oneness about 50 years ago. But he cannot remember when he became aware of its side effect of defocusing, thus freeing the body from psychological problems projected onto it. So maybe that takes a while, or he did not notice it at first. But in that context, getting the tongue as close to the uvula as you can is good enough.
THERE IS NO WAY TO THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
You do not welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or glimpses of its four facets by becoming purer, breathing wholly, eating healthy or anything else you can do in the world of the outward-facing senses. Still, things like that may help deactivate those senses.
However, no technique can do that if that is not the purpose of executing it. In other words, the first step is solely about purpose. If that is to deactivate the outward-facing senses, many techniques work. The second step is to devote yourself to the lucid journey in the world of the inward-facing senses.
But these steps only apply to having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and not to welcome in its entirety, as it takes more than one to take any step.

The part of the world of the outward-facing senses you want to experience is not supposed to be blurry. It must be in focus to make the experience definable. It is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. Your experiences there are abstract.
DAILY LIFE WITH GLIMPSES OF THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
It is probably best not to be active in the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. That is because the visual glimpses of Enlightenment can become so intense that the world of the outward-facing senses is hardly sensed.
However, if the technique for tasting the sweetness of oneness is only used for defocusing, it can be carried out all the time while being active in the world of the outward-facing senses. And you can enjoy the ethereal harmonies if you do it without putting your thumbs in the ears and not too long at a time. That also applies to hearing or feeling the vibration that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise. See Life has no secrets.
The result is the experience of a world less defined. Not to the extent, though, that you cannot move around but that you feel you are carried around.
That is, as long as you do not take the full tour of these glimpses because after 20 minutes, 45 at most, it ends with the Enlightenment of that which is One. Read more about that here. Thus you no longer experience being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, nor in oneness since that requires more than one. You are not someone at all, so there is no memory or consciousness of ever having believed that. Instead, there is what always has been and will be, namely that which is one.
The Hebrew word Elohim was originally a symbol for one perpetual present.
The word god, a translation of the Hebrew word Elohim, was at first meant to be a metaphor for that which is one and never ends, thus a symbol for one perpetual present. But since that makes no in a world of linear time, the meaning of the word gradually changed, so that god became a symbol for one almighty force believed to have created a world in its own image.
But what is not definable cannot create something definable. Hence a world defined by time and space is an illusion and so is the perceived creator of that world.
APPENDIX ABOUT THE QUOTES
The terminology of yoga and scriptures – apart from a quick look in The New Testament and Bhagavad Gita – is unknown to Alexius. So he does not know the books quoted above. Instead, he found the quotes by searching the internet.
When everything is included, there does not appear to be something outside you. And as there is no inside without outside, there is nothing but that which is One.
Alexius does not side with Eastern or Western religions or new-age philosophy. Generally, they exclude what they judge as wrong by projecting it onto non-believers to make them tainted and themselves pure. Yoga, for example, is often based on meditation, where you exclude something deemed evil to become pure so you can return to oneness. But that which is One is formless, thus endless. Thus you can neither add nor subtract from it. If you try to do that, you enhance the belief in being and having more than that which is One.

‘The Enlightenment of that which is One’ and its glimpses
Updated May 8, 2023

There are no degrees of the Enlightenment of that which is One because it cannot be experienced. However, you can experience glimpses of it in various degrees depending on how much you shut off the outward-facing senses. You see, hear, feel and taste these glimpses via the inward-facing senses. To do that, you do not have to close your eyes or be in a particular place or position. You focus less on the world of the outward senses. Read more about that here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
ARE THERE DEGREES OF ENLIGHTENMENT?
The answer to the question is both yes and no. In the Enlightenment of that which is One, everything happens simultaneously. Therefore, since no specific elements are available to combine into something understandable, it is beyond the senses. Thus impossible to experience and therefore without degrees.
Nevertheless, you can have glimpses of Enlightenment in various degrees via the inward-facing senses regardless of the body’s state, how and where it is positioned and if you know anything about Enlightenment. It is merely a matter of not focusing on something specific. The more you do that, the less the substantial world of the outward-facing senses blocks the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.
However, like a movie trailer is not the movie, the glimpses of Enlightenment are not the Enlightenment of that which is One. But unlike a movie trailer which does not contain the whole film, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One has it all. So when you stop distinguishing them, without any transition, the Enlightenment of that which is One sets in.
It is as if it comes from out of nowhere through a gap that may look black (see the article The ins and outs of a black hole) to terminate your consciousness quickly. Thus nothing is sucked through a black gap that is gone because there is no awareness to hide there is no more than that which is One. So if you want to hold onto being someone definitive, somewhere specific, thus denying the formlessness of oneness, you stop the extraction of consciousness by fearing it. Since that requires more than one, you are, without any transition, back in a world where there seems to be more than one.

It takes more than one to have a vision, so no matter how impressive it may be, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but a glimpse of it. That is comparable to a movie trailer, a sample of the whole, thus not undivided. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE OR GLIMPSES OF IT
Nobody can attest to you having been the Enlightenment of that which is One because it calls for more than one. For the same reason, you only have vague memories of nothing entering the void of antimatter in a gap of light. The memories pop up every time you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, which can be visions of light, celestial music, shivering feelings of total emptiness or tastes of heavenly sweetness. Read more about that in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.
You devote yourself to one of these aspects at a time without hanging onto it. So if another replaces that aspect, you go with that. However, never try to mix them.
If you want to return to the Enlightenment of that which is One, you stop distinguishing the glimpses of the aspect you experience. Therefore, since separation is not confirmed, your experience stops. Without any transition, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in to erase all the thoughts used to imagine being outside of oneness.
Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, glimpses of it do not wipe out thoughts completely. But you forget to assign them with a specific meaning, thus moving lightly in the material world of the outward-facing senses. At the same time, glimpses of Enlightenment come to you from the abstractness of the inward-facing senses.
When that is over, the focus on the material world of the outward-facing senses is re-established. If you want to look special there, you probably claim to have been awakened by the glimpses, thus being someone who knows how to make the world a better place. But by using glimpses to highlight yourself as somebody instead of undoing the belief in being that, you are imprisoned by the glimpses, not set free.
The world of the outward-facing senses is experienced via seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting/smelling something perceived as material. The world of the inward-facing senses can also be seen, heard, felt and tasted. However, you do not get a sense of something tangible but abstract.

Depending on how much you use the inward-facing senses to perceive your experiences in the world of the outward-fencing senses, you have a pleasant day or glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. In the latter’s case, you still notice the world of the outward-fencing senses, but it does not mean much to you. In the case of the former, you are much aware of the world of the outward-facing senses. But it looks friendlier, and you feel more relaxed. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
As the name suggests, the drive of the inward and the outward-facing senses is not the same. The outward-facing senses are for actively expanding what you appear to be and have. But you do not need that in the world of the inward-facing senses because it is abstract, so you are boundless. You can use that to soften your appearance in the world of the outward-facing senses or have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, for example, travelling through lucid worlds of light. That is effortless, but everything in the world of the outward-facing senses requires much effort.
Much devotion to the world of the inward-facing senses probably makes you spaced out in the world of the outward-facing senses. Yet, if you do not have to be present there, you can go with the flow of the inward-facing senses, as if the world outside you stands still. See Alexius in Wonderland.
However, you cannot tone down the outward-facing senses if you want to escape them because what you try to escape you enhance psychologically. On the other hand, the more you wish to get close to reality, the more the outward and inward-facing senses fade out, and the more you are on Highway One. It has no direction, so you are not going anywhere. But the belief in being somewhere goes away. Hence there does not appear to be something to hide that which is One.
But suppose you have to do something demanding in the world of the outward-facing senses. In that case, it is best to devote yourself to the outward-facing senses mainly so the abstractness of the inward-facing senses does not space you out but makes it easier to do something demanding joyfully.
Syncing the inward and outward-facing senses in the correct ratio per your present situation is less complicated if you leave it to the empty breath. See, The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses.

The body’s healing caused by partly being devoted to the inward-facing senses is a side effect that helps you not worry about its appearance and inevitable end. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE INWARD-FACING SENSES AND THE BODY
The inward-facing senses cannot heal your body. However, its abstractness sets the body free from the ideas of wellness you try to inflict on it. Hence the body gets the peace it needs to heal itself. It may not include genetically caused diseases, though. But since they do not generate fear due to the tranquillity of the inward-facing senses, it is easier to deal with them (see Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix).
But suppose the body’s well-being is the purpose of devoting yourself to the inward-facing senses. In that case, you focus on something specific, so you do not enter the world of the inward-facing senses. Hence the body does not get the peace it needs to heal itself.
Like a moth cannot help but follow its attraction to the flame, even though it is going to end of it, the purpose of the inward-facing senses is to draw you into their abstract world to undo the belief in being someone definitive.

If you return from the Enlightenment of that which is One to the experience of being someone substantial, your appearance remains the same. That is because it has not been Enlightened. However, due to vague memories of the formlessness of oneness, you do not believe it is real. Hence you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE DOES NOT CHANGE ANYTHING
Visiting the Enlightenment of that which is One by momentarily forgetting what and where you appear to be may at first seem to be a process. As long as that is the case, the experience of you as someone definitive can be recalled. But since it takes more than one to be anything, the reestablished experience does not contain the Enlightenment of that which is One. So although you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, nothing has changed except you know there is no more than that which is One.
When the Enlightenment of that which is One does not seem to be a process, you are entirely beyond the senses. Hence there is no one to know about ever having been someone, wherefore there is no return to being a substantial being in a tangible world. Consequently, nobody seems to hide what always has been and always will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. From this follows, nobody is aware of that since it takes more than one to be conscious of something.
Therefore, if somebody claims to have been transformed by Enlightenment into something better or higher, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One, but glimpses of it that they use to promote themselves as a superhuman with no negative emotions, only love and compassion. Since everybody wants to be superhuman, it sounds compelling, so you may dismiss the Enlightenment of that which is One if it hits you because you did not become anything at all. And being nobody, you cannot share with anybody because that requires more than One, thus turning you into somebody.

People have extraordinary ideas about Enlightenment. Some think it is pure love, consciousness or the ability to see through all illusions. But seeing or being something requires more than one. Hence the Enlightenment they are dreaming about is not the Enlightenment of that which is One, but something to improve their life in a world where there seems to be more than one, thus fencing off that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen
IS THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE REQUIRED TO UNDO THE BELIEF IN BEING SOMEONE?
The Enlightenment of that which is One can be said to be the last step back to the formlessness of oneness. But as formlessness is endless, you have never left it. Thus it is not about going back but realise the belief in being definitive hides the formlessness of oneness.
As already mentioned, the Enlightenment of that which is One undoes that belief immediately. However, it can also be achieved over time while enjoying the world of the outward-facing senses by applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks except Hack #10.
Glimpses of Enlightenment are comparable to the sneak peeks Alexius had in his childhood of his family’s Christmas tree when he looked through the door’s keyhole. He was in his normal world but had glimpses of something glorious.

This image could illustrate the last glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One before you give up being aware of something. There is no transition from having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and being sucked into it. And since it is one perpetual present, you do not know when it extracts all your thoughts about being someone so that nobody is sucked through a black gap and gracefully falls into that which One. Since that is incompatible with appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, you better stop the extraction of thoughts if you want to continue like someone definitive, for example, by fearing it. Thus you immediately appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. The graphic is grabbed from the web.
WHERE DO GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT COME FROM
Physically speaking, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One seem to originate from a non-defined space behind the frequencies of thoughts near the pineal gland. It is probably here you perceive the world when you are in a state of not-knowing.
The same applies when you pretend to be someone or perceive everything experienced as symbols of oneness. The empty breath – sounding like sohang – is presumably picked up there as well, physically speaking.
You cannot know because you are blown out by those experiences. That is fine because focusing on the pineal will not bring about any of the above. Concentrating on something contracts the energy, so you feel boxed in as someone definitive. On the other hand, defocusing removes restrictions wherefore, you do not feel limited to being someone specific.

‘A state of not-knowing’ and the after-effect
Updated May 8, 2023

Everything believed to be a fact is made of the brain. It is, for example, not a fact that you see this picture now. It has taken the brain one second to fabricate this experience. Hence what you believe in seeing, you saw in the past. And then again, there was no picture one second ago. It is a fantasy of the brain made from nothing to make it look like you are something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
TWISTING EMPTINESS INTO SOMETHING EXCITING
The brain claims the experiences it produces are founded on information from our sensory system. Most gladly accept this because otherwise, it is evident our experiences are a fantasy fabricated by the brain, wherefore what we see does not consist of tangible elements but intangible thoughts. See, Eyes do not see.
You may have noticed that even with your eyes closed, the brain can produce vivid images that look like the world you see with open eyes. And it does not require you to be sexually stimulated by something in the physical world to produce an orgasm while you are dreaming. The substantiality of what and where you believe in being is a fantasy synthesised by the brain from nothing – like if you watch several movies in a row, the brain pieces their different work of fiction into one continuous story that feels so compelling you forget it is fantasy.
That is because whether experiences are perceived as yours or others, real or imagined, authentic or fake, fabrication or factual, physical or spiritual, they are processed by the brain in one higgledy-piggledy by the same organ. It views everything it processes as nothing that needs to be shaped into something so engaging that you do not notice it is fantasy. Nor does the brain want you to see that it is as immaterial as the experiences it produces to appear as something by making you believe they establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world.
Since any experience of something has taken the brain one second to form from nothing (read more about that here), you can undo it by going back one second second, thus entering the bliss of nothing.

Those who want to be in a merry-go-round world may like to read about the bliss of a state of not-knowing. But when they realise the bliss comes from not believing to be definitive, they avoid a state of not knowing by making sure to perform as somebody definitive – for example, saying, »I need time to process it.«Photo © Alexius Jorgensen
A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
Since every experience you have has taken the brain one second to manufacture, the origin of what you believe in experiencing now is one second away (read more about that here). Therefore, if you go back one second, you return to the nothingness the brain has twisted into something you perceive to happen now.
Unfortunately, the freedom from something may feel claustrophobic because you have nowhere to hide your emotions. Fortunately, this exposes them as nothing, wherefore you enter a state of not-knowing. Since that is like falling into an unsubstantial body, you neither feel physical nor integrated with higher energies. Hence there is no need to label anything.
Nevertheless, the brain goes on like before, producing experiences of something from out of nothing. But since what you believed in being cannot be recalled in a state of not-knowing, there is nobody to perceive its experiences as something. That is why you are in the bliss of nothing, thus nowhere, because it has not been rendered into something by the brain. However, there is nobody to be aware of this until you return to the conscious experience of being someone definitive, and blissful memories of not believing to be someone pop up.
In other words, everything said in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings about a state of not-knowing is based on Alexius’ memories. And though a state of not-knowing is impersonal, memories are personal, so Alexius’ memories may differ from yours – like two persons drinking the same tea often remember it differently.
The brain feels abandoned if you are more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, in a state of not-knowing because you have not reacted to the brain’s fiction as if it is real. Therefore, since it gives up producing more experiences of you as someone, you cannot return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of something, nor can you continue in the bliss of nothing since the fantasy about being someone is over.

In a state of not-knowing, your eyes may be closed or open. Perhaps you sit in a bus or a park, walk down a noisy street, talk a lot or are silent. Everything is normal, and thoughts go on as usual since what and where you appear to be is a construction of thoughts. There is one difference, though. Before, thoughts were perceived as something, and now as nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
But most likely, you leave a state of not-knowing a long time before the brain falls apart. And since you are returning to the consciousness of being someone definitive with a clean slate, you automatically serve the brain, thus everybody, because the brain has no personal preferences.
Only in a world where there seems to be more than one, does there appear to be levels, so if you experience to be advancing through levels, the belief that in more than One is not being undone but enhanced.
Since this feels very satisfying, you do not look for something specific but happily go with the duality flow (Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality) or take a break from duality via a state of not-knowing, or maybe you remain there so the enlightenment of that which is One can undo the belief in being someone. It does not alter or transform anything, as that requires more than one. Instead, it wipes out everything that calls for more than one. Hence there is nobody to be aware that you graciously keep falling until there is nothing to unite with oneness. Read more about that in Duality Hack #10 The Enlightenment of that which is One.
The willingness to have that done is often initiated by admitting you are not willing to recognise what you believe in being is nothing. By acknowledging this, you agree that what you appear to be is make-believe, thus, not real. About willingness, see Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one.
If you try to return to a state of not-knowing by replicating the last one, you will not enter it because what you intend to replicate is memories, and contrary to a state of not-knowing, they are perceived as something. And if you use second-hand knowledge of how to get the bliss of nothing, you become the special self. Since it focuses on realising itself, you will not enter a state of not-knowing as it is selfless.
You cannot welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One when you want to exist because it takes more than one to be alive. This does not mean you need to die. That also calls for more than one.

Having glimpses of enlightenment, you stick to one aspect at a time. So if you feel it, you do not try to see it. Yet, if visions of it start to take over, you go with that. Suppose you do not try to divide your vision into different shapes. In that case, you will not see patterns and colours in the visual glimpses of enlightenment but one bright light. It sucks out everything you believe to be so that there is nothing to gracefully fall through a black hole into that which is One. Read more about that here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT IN A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING
In a state of not-knowing, you may have glimpses of enlightenment. But they are not the enlightenment of that which is One – just like a movie trailer is not the movie but samples of it.
The enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced because it requires more than one to be aware of something. Nevertheless, you can see, hear, feel or taste glimpses of it. They are experienced with the inward-facing senses, so they do not blend in with the world of the outward-facing senses. Read more about that here.
In other words, the visual glimpses of enlightenment do not lighten a room. On the contrary, it makes it impossible to see it. And even though the ethereal harmonies are the most subtle polyphony of bell-like sounds, they do not mix with church bells or any other mundane sound. That is why you better block out glimpses of enlightenment when driving a car or doing something else that calls for your focus on the world of the outward-facing senses.
Since we are used to perceiving experiences as coming from outside, we perceive glimpses of enlightenment to come from inside or another world. But this is not so. They come from a gap in nothing, almost unprocessed by the brain. The experiences perceived to be outside of us also come from nothing. However, they are heavily processed by the brain to appear as something.

Whether your eyes are open or closed, you can apply one or more of Alexius’ duality hacks wherever you are. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
HOW TO ENTER A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
All Alexius’ Duality Hacks, except the Enlightenment of that which is One, will eventually take you back one second to nothingness the brain has twisted into something, as explained above. Below we explore that a bit further.
When you feel speedy and restless, you use its uncontrolled energy to ignite a take-off to the empty breath (see Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath). But if you feel tired, pretending to be that probably is the better choice of a hack because what you pretend to be is not you (see hack #2 Pretending to be in a world of duality, you undo it).
If you tend to justify everything unpleasant with the world, perceiving everything as symbols of oneness could be the hack to apply. In this case, Alone Together is also a good hack. Read more about these hacks in Duality Hack #3 Seeing duality as a symbol of non-duality, and in Duality Hack #12 The key to oneness is Alone together.
Please be aware that the purpose of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. That said, the more this unhealthy belief is healed, the more the body is set free from your dominance. Hence the biological system is not blocked from caring for the body on its terms. However, sometimes a kickstart is beneficial, for example, nootropics for boosting the brain, Blackroll for relaxing the muscles, weightlifting for toning them and far-infrared heating pads for a deep bodily relaxation. Read more about setting the body free from your dominance in hack #7 The fake mix of physical and non-physical issues.
Getting into a state of not-knowing is as easy as told, but since we all are in the habit of looking for a solution in the experiences we perceive as something, we may get lost in them, thus feeling hopeless. No worries, there is so much energy in hopelessness that unedited ignites a take-off into the empty breath.
INTERLUDE:
The experience of you as someone in a tangible world can only be exposed as a hallucination if you are willing to have the belief in being someone undone. Having that willingness, the undoing occurs when you keep reading Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings. Do not expect them to save you or give you something better because it takes more than one to do so, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Fortunately, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings do not result in something but nothing, so they automatically hack the belief in being something.

The after-effect of a state of not-knowing is a certainty that the thoughts needed for being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one automatically are produced by the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE AFTER-EFFECT OF A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
Suppose you do not want to end the experience of being somebody. In that case, you need to leave a state of not-knowing after 20 minutes, 45 at most – otherwise, there is not somebody to repeatedly confirm that the experiences fabricated by the brain are something. Therefore, since they are exposed as nothing, something does not appear to keep the brain together, so it falls into a coma.
But if you leave a state of not-knowing before that, you return to the conscious experience of being someone with the slate wiped clean, thus free to follow the brain’s script. See Duality Hack #6 Happiness is to be in touch with the brain. It feels like you start from the ground up, moving very slowly with no other purpose than to fine-tune the body as a tool for the experience of a tangible world.
Although it is not done systemically with coordinated movements, breathing, and meditation, others assume they if they replicate these slow movements in a focused mode via Tai Chi or Qigong, they magically enter a higher state of being. However, a state of not-knowing does not arise from focusing but from defocusing. That said, it can also occur from being deeply involved in something when it is not done per a particular philosophy or to escape something.
Returning with the slate wiped clean from a state of not-knowing to the experience of being someone, the relationships you used to have may seem dull because you have no need to exploit others when not trying to be unique.
As long as the after-effect of a state of not-knowing lasts, which can be from a few seconds to several years, you rely on the brain to produce experiences of being someone in a tangible world – just like you depend on it to compose a dream. Going along with the experiences as the brain makes them, and not as you think they should be, feels like sleepwalking. It is effortless unless you insist on doing things your way, which is stressful. Fortunately, uncontrolled stress ignites a take-off into the empty breath and the bliss of nothing, from where you return with a clean slate, thus having an effortless life as someone in the brain’s fantasy of a tangible world.

You probably go back and forth between the consciousness of being someone and a state of not-knowing many times before you forget to leave it, thus welcoming the enlightenment of that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Like the empty breath syncs being nobody with being somebody in a state of not-knowing, so you can move around in nothing as if it is something, it also does that when you return to the consciousness of being someone. But, of course, the ratio is different in the after-effect of a state of not-knowing.
In a state of not-knowing, there is so little consciousness of being somebody that there is nobody to perceive the different experiences to make a difference. That is why you are in the bliss of nothing. But in the after-effect, the empty breath syncs the bliss of nothing with the conscious experience of something, so the nothingness is forgotten when you need to drive a car, for example. In other words, in a state of not-knowing, you are mainly nobody and, in the after-effect, somebody.
Be aware that there is no will to perceive anything in a particular way in a state of not-knowing. And the transition from a state of not-knowing to the consciousness of being someone is not noticed because there is not somebody to be aware of having been in a state of not-knowing. Nor do you not know that the bliss of nothing has wiped the slate clean, wherefore your psychological projections on the body have been lifted, and your perceptions automatically are generated in sync with the brain’s script (see Duality Hack #6 Happiness is to be in touch with the brain). However, you notice you are in the duality flow (see Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality) because the body feels light, and you have no need to project anything on it.

Thoughts and feelings may seem distant in a state of not-knowing, but when you return to the consciousness of being someone definitive, they are very close. However, since they are no longer perceived as something but nothing, you enjoy the intimacy of nothing in whatever shape it appears to take. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
That does not necessarily mean it always is like that. Your conditioned way of reacting to something may be so deeply rooted that you return to a familiar response pattern. But, no worries, a quick visit to a state of not-knowing, and you start over again with a clean slate in the brain’s fantasy world of duality pairs.
Sooner or later, you feel so entertained by twofoldness that you are blown out. Therefore, since there does not appear to be someone experiencing something, nothing seems to hide the formlessness of oneness.
APPENDIX:
To be in sync with the script of the brain does not mean you have to like it but that you have to relate to it as it is and not as you think it should be per a particular philosophy. In other words, whether you respond with anger or joy to the brain’s script, you are in a dialogue with the brain, thus feeling its love.
But if you reject the brain’s script by responding to a story believed better, such as socialism, you are not communicating with the brain but with your fable about a better world. Hence you do not feel the brain’s love because you always seek something better.

More than one is like a film of oneness in slow-mo
Updated June 7, 2023

When letters are compiled in various configurations, their different shapes can be attributed as meaningful or meaningless. And when the supposedly meaningful ones are arranged in rows like here, it is as if you read a story written by somebody other than yourself. Hence it seems there is more than One. But since the different arrangements of letters are interpreted by you, you are the maker of the story, so it does not prove there is more than One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Let us imagine that oneness consists of endless letters, some of those make up the shapes appearing in a world where there is more than one. However, since there is no separation in oneness, the letters that oneness consists of cannot be distinguished. Besides, oneness is so fast that it is one perpetual present. Therefore, since there is no time, it is impossible to organise anything linearly.
But suppose you imagine slowing down the speed of oneness until there appears to be space between its letters. In that case, they appear to have different shapes that, over time, can be combined in several combinations attributed with each their specific meaning. Hence space and time establish separation as real and the formlessness of oneness as unreal.
Fortunately, this fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one is easily undone when you reverse it and instead speed up the thoughts that establish the meaning of the letters until there is no time to establish separation.
Suppose you need time to process what you read. In that case, it is not to understand it but to reduce the speed of thoughts so you can remain in the experience of a slowed-down version of oneness and appear calm although feeling alienated because you are not a separated being, but the formlessness of oneness.
In that which is One, everything moves so fast that there is no separation – like in the first image, where the extreme speed of the ceiling fan annuls separation. However, when the fan is slowed down, separation occurs. Likewise, a world where there seems to be more than one appears to come into being when imagining slowing down oneness. The graphic is grabbed from the web and manipulated by Alexius. In the movie Lucy, Scarlett Johansson demonstrates that when time is speeded up infinitely, there is nothing to see. This is comparable to that which is One. It is so speedy that there is no separation to define something. That is why it is formless, thus endless, and a world where there seems to be more than one is non-existing.
ONENESS VERSUS A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
Oneness can be compared to a movie played so fast that its frames look like one, making it impossible to see anything specific. However, slowed down, it seems like oneness is full of frames with a particular look – like a world with more than one.
Therefore, if you believe to be someone in the movie of a world where there seems to be more than one, you do not undo this belief by slowness but by quickness. You need to speed up the film – or rather, your interpretation of it. Since that is a construction of thoughts, the faster they move, the more the frames appear to press on, and the less you experience more than one.
The Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk plays extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, which produce overtones so trance-inducing, that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it.
That happens by itself when thoughts are not shaped into interlocking Lego bricks, used to build an appearance of you as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. Then thoughts are free to speed up until it is impossible to hold onto them, wherefore you enter a state of not-knowing. From where you return with the slate wiped clean to the awareness of being someone – or have your consciousness terminated by the Enlightenment of that which is One, so there are no experiences to hide there never was or will be anything but the formlessness of oneness.
If you close your eyes after having been deeply involved in something, physically or mentally, you may see it as a blurred picture speeding up like a movie frame. You do not feel disturbed if not holding back, because then its unrestrained energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath, which brings about the bliss of nothing.
The same applies when you worry and do not try to pacify yourself but instead step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions. Then a take-off into the empty breath is ignited.
So to repeat, returning to oneness is not about slowing down thoughts, least of all stopping them. If you do that, you are stuck in a single frame of an empty void, separated from similar ones. This numbness of stillness is as far away from oneness as you can get because that which is One is not deadlocked but free-flowing energy, moving at such a speed that everything is fused into the formlessness of oneness (see the first box).
Therefore, you undo the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one by speeding up thoughts to the extent that they do not appear to differ. Since that makes it impossible to interpret your experience as something specific, no shapes appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.
APPENDIX
Only in undoing the belief in more than one should thoughts not be organised into specific shapes. In a world where there seems to be more than one, thoughts must be set up in particular constructions to confirm your appearance. But maybe not how you expect.

Where to find the bliss of ‘the empty breath’
Updated June 7, 2023

One second ago, the present experience of you as someone who reads this had still not been rendered by the brain because it has taken one second to make this experience from the info it claims to receive from your sensory system. But since the world, according to science, consists of empty space, the brain gets nothing. It hides that by creating experiences of nothing disguised as something experienced by someone definitive. In other words, one second ago, you were nothing and still are. However, the experiences the brain makes of you as someone definitive seem to conceal it when you ratify them by perceiving them as something to prevent being exposed as nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
As mentioned several times in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, our experiences are not based on info from the sensory system but empty space. The brain uses one second to twist nothing into something. Therefore, since this moment is a delayed interpretation of nothing, what you believe in reading now, you never read because one second ago, it was not something but nothing. When acknowledging you are never in the present but in the past as nothing, there is not something that seems to separate you from the empty breath.
In a state of not-knowing, the brain cannot establish you as someone definitive. However, this does not mean you are transformed into a higher consciousness but that there is no awareness of being someone. That is why a state of not-knowing feels like walking on air.
In other words, if you go one second back from your present experience of something, there is nothing, hence no difference between you and the empty breath. However, that has nothing to do with getting closer to your pure essence but seeing you are nothing. Therefore, since you know the world of something is nothing, and you are nobody, you have fun pretending to be somebody. See Duality Hack #2 Pretending to be twofold undoes duality.

You connect with the empty breath by not connecting with the consciousness of you as someone experiencing the tangible world that the brain spends a second fabricating from the frequencies it imagines to receive from empty space. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE BLISS OF NOTHING:
When you connect with the empty breath by going back one second from your present experience of something to the nothingness from where the brain has twisted it into something, the unprocessed moment is extended into a state of not-knowing. In this state, you do not pick up on the brain’s deceptive fabrication of you as someone substantial in a tangible world. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.
However, this state cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, because the brain feels abandoned if its experiences of nothing are not perceived as something continuously. Thus it falls into a coma. Since all the memories to back up what we believe in being are stored in the brain, this belief is terminated. That is why you cannot stay too long at a time in a state of not-knowing if you want to return to being someone in the experiences created by the brain.
But suppose you no longer wish to appear in the brain’s experiences. In that case, you do not mind that the brain stops mapping out empty space as if you are someone substantial in a tangible world, so the nothingness of you, via the Enlightenment of that which is One, gently falls through a black hole into that which is one. Read more about that in Duality Hack #10 The Enlightenment of that which is One.
Therefore, whether you want to remain as someone definitive, a state of not-knowing induced by the empty breath is bound to end relatively quickly so that the consciousness of being someone definitive can be resumed or completely erased.
No need to worry about accidentally staying too long in a state of not-knowing. First, hardly anybody comes to the point where the brain starts falling apart. Their urge to be someone definitive is so deep-rooted that it is easy for the brain to break through a state of not-knowing with images of you as someone becoming and having more, which seems much better than being nobody in the bliss of nothing. Secondly, should you reach that point of no return, fear of survival probably is enough to reboot the brain, thus the experience of being someone substantial in a tangible world.

Not organising thoughts and feelings into specific categories does not seem to represent something in a substantial world. Hence there is nothing to block out the empty breath, which does not know of such a world, nor that you believe to be there. All it knows is the nothingness from which this fantasy has been made. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
A QUESTION THAT CANNOT BE ANSWERED
How not to be deceived by the brain’s experiences of something and instead drift in the bliss of nothing cannot be answered. The question is founded on the belief that you are someone definitive, and the bliss of nothing comes from not believing that.
Neither can it be known if it is the empty breath or being indifferent to the belief in being someone that comes first concerning the sheer bliss of nothing. The only reason somebody wants to know this – or anything else – is that they believe to be defined by what they know and want to remain defined as somebody instead of being nobody in a state of not-knowing.
Thus the above about where to find the bliss of the empty breath is not an attempt to answer the question but to rule it out. The same applies to the below.
A WORLD OF NOTHING
Since nothing appears to make a difference in a state of not-knowing, there is no special place to go or someone special to love. At first, that may feel like being stuck inside an unbreakable armour of pain instead of floating in the bliss of nothing. But if you do not try to escape the feeling of claustrophobia but are that and nothing else, there is nothing to define you. Therefore, since there is no awareness of being someone definitive, there is nobody to be happy, sad or anything else.
However, that does not mean that there are no thoughts and feelings but that nobody relates them to them as if they are something. In short, the connectedness with the empty breath is simply a way not to perceive the experiences fabricated by the brain as something. Hence they do not appear to establish a belief in separation.
Although the connectedness with the empty breath eventually undoes the belief in separation, it also enhances it because it requires more than one to choose this.
Therefore, not to enhance but undo the belief in separation, you do not select the empty breath or anything else. And since you are nothing without choosing something, you are in the flow of the empty breath.
NOTE: This article is part of Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath.
When experiences are perceived as something, it is impossible to be in the bliss of nothing, revealed by the empty breath. The connection must be established before the brain, based on signals it claims to receive from our sensory system, delivers a convincing experience of us as somebody substantial in a tangible world.
Science states that the world we believe in feeling and seeing is 99.9999999 per cent empty space. And the rest – despite consisting of nothing substantial – is what we perceive as elements of matter. In other words, the world we experience is make-believe.
But this experience is not based on info from the sensory system. The brain receives nothing but empty space, which it uses one second to twist into the experiences of you as someone substantial in a tangible world. Therefore, since your experience of this moment is a delayed interpretation of nothing, what you believe in reading now, you never read because one second ago, it was not something but nothing. Therefore, when you acknowledge you are never in the present but in the past, where you are nothing, there is not something that seems to separate you from the empty breath.
‘The empty breath’ syncs the inward and outward-facing senses
Updated June 7, 2023

It is not thoughts that prevent us from being in the bliss of nothing but the desire to accomplish something with them. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
NOTHING TWISTED INTO SOMETHING
It takes more than one to appear as someone, but there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Therefore, appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one is a fantasy made from nothing, experienced by nobody.
That is not to say oneness is nothing because it requires more than one to be anything. For the same reason, it is impossible to fantasise about more than one in oneness. Yet, it seems possible to experience more than one outside of oneness. But since oneness is endless, there is nothing outside of it. That is why experiencing something is a mirage, and science concludes the world we believe in seeing consists of empty space.
THE EMPTY BREATH IS THE ABSENCE OF SOMETHING
Though science seems to know that any experience of something is made of nothing, they explore them as if they are real. On the other hand, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings assert that all experiences are the brain’s fantasy of something made from nothing, making it appear as if someone has them, thus, ratifying the brain As something. The fastest way to see this deception is to return to the nothingness the brain has twisted into experiences of something.
You can do that by connecting with the empty breath because it has not been twisted into something by the brain. However, connecting with the empty breath is not about being deeper, purer, balanced or something else. Being something is part of the brain’s games, and the empty breath is not part of that, but the nothingness that its experiences are fabricated from.
Therefore, you ignite a take-off into the empty breath by not organising thoughts and feelings into something definitive but instead stepping into the nothingness of uncontrolled thoughts and feelings.
Should you wonder who chooses to believe in being someone and who has programmed the brain to produce experiences that seem to confirm this belief or who wonders about this, the answer is nobody. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen. The brain considers the abstract world of the inward-facing senses an uncompleted version of the substantial world of the outward-facing senses. But it does not mind which one you prefer because its purpose of twisting nothing into something is to make you feel so entertained by its experiences that they seem real, thus attesting to the brain as existent.
But little does it know that having experiences via the inward-facing senses eventually ends the brain’s experiences of you as someone in a world defined by time and space, so there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.
WHAT AND WHERE ARE THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
The concepts of seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting relate to the same sensory system, whether in the abstract way of the inward-facing senses or the substantial way of outward-facing ones. In the case of abstract experiences, the brain has not fully processed nothingness into the appearance of physical elements outside you. Thus it feels as if there is an abstract world inside you.
But in the world of the outward-facing senses, the brain has finished twisting nothing into something, so you appear as someone substantial in a tangible world outside you. However, since it takes more than one to experience something, and since there is no more than that which is One, all experiences are an illusion, whether with the outward or inward-facing senses.

The abstract world of the inward-facing senses is experienced when time and space are not entirely considered real. Ultimately speaking, though, the experiences with the inward-facing senses are not more real than those with the outward-facing senses because any experience requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Hence it is only in the context of the brain’s plot to deceive you into experiencing nothing as something that there is someone to experience an abstract world, lightly processed by the brain from the frequencies of nothingness and a substantial world, heavily processed by the brain from the same frequencies.
Still, in this context, the abstract experiences of the inward-facing senses come about when not entirely focused on being someone substantial in the world of the outward-facing senses. The little left of the belief in being substantial makes it possible to experience the abstractness of the inward-facing senses. In other words, when you appear to be nobody in the world of the inward-facing senses, you have not entirely left the belief in being somebody.
Initially, the abstractness in the world of the inward-facing senses may not seem very comforting, but it is the reverse. In the world of the outward-facing senses, we are always afraid of not making it, whereas we have nothing to live up to in the world of the inward-facing senses.
You must constantly focus on the world of outward-facing senses to make it seem real. But it is the other way around in the world of the inward-facing senses. That is experienced when there is no effort to focus or concentrate.
As long as you intend to appear in a world where there seems to be more than one, it is best to multitask between the inward and outward-facing senses so you focus when needed and space out if nothing is required of you.
But we cannot remain in this abstract world if we want to go on in a world defined by time and space. Fortunately, the empty breath is an automatic gear shift between the outward and inward-facing senses, so we go back and forth between them per our present situation.
Just like everything else sensed, the empty breath is invisible and colourless until the brain ascribes it to a specific shape and colour. But as the empty breath does not aspire to be something, the brain does not care to twist it into an object. Hence it remains invisible and colourless.

Not being someone specific feels as if you are nothing, which seems pretty discomforting until you realise that being empty, you are a vessel for the empty breath, which takes you into the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses, where glimpses of Enlightenment become the base for experiencing the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
THE EMPTY BREATH SYNCS THE INWARD AND OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
Even though you hide from the sun, it remains where it is – likewise, the empty breath. Therefore, the empty breath remains with us if we have briefly been connected with it. It does not know we do not feel connected because it is unaware that we believe to be separated beings in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses.
Yet, the empty breath senses the stress this belief seems to create, so it synchs it with the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses. That is not because it is more peaceful in the world of inward-facing senses than in the outward-facing senses. But because the stress in the low-frequency world of the outward-facing senses does not seem disturbing in the high-frequency world of the inward-facing senses.
Besides, the body does not seem troublesome when the perception of it is coordinated with the inward-facing senses per what and where we appear to be because the tensions experienced due to psychological worries about the body’s condition vanishes. See also Duality Hack #7 Physical & non-physical issues do not mix.
However, it cannot work if you suppress the involuntary movements, the ignition of the empty breath may bring about to make you fall into place with the inward and outward-facing senses. Therefore, follow your electric-like, physical and mental impulses to get this synchronisation. For example, if the shoulders tighten up, be ready for mental relaxation when they fall. Or, if feeling sad, be prepared to be indifferent.
Sometimes, something extreme is needed to make you realise the senses have been synced. For example, when Alexius, as a child, had been involved in an accident, he forgot what and where he was. So when he finally returned home, he asked his mother Who am I? His uncertainty remained, although his parents assumed he soon restituted. However, appearing as they expected was something he pretended as he always had done but was mainly unaware of until then. Read about pretence in Duality Hack #2 Pretending to be twofold undoes duality.
You cannot help the empty breath with the synchronisation. Still, you can prevent yourself from interfering with it, for instance, by doing Nordic Walking regularly, applying heat to the eyes with RENPHO Eye Massager with Heat Compression before sleeping and sleeping with far-infrared heating pads.
It is essential to accept that although everything looks like before you were connected with the empty breath, nothing feels the same. At first, it may seem blander because you no longer get peak experiences in the world of the outward-facing senses. But that is because you do not split the duality pairs into separate entities. Therefore, since you feel neither up nor down but are the constant movement of opposites, there is no need for peak experiences.
This is a leaf from a palm tree that Alexius has processed into a fantasy of what it may look like when not seen in the world of the outward-facing senses but experienced in the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. But he cannot illustrate the formlessness of oneness. It is without separation, so it cannot be seen. However, that does not mean it is nothing. On the contrary, since oneness is formless, thus endless, it is everything. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
This picture and the yellow one above have been processed from the same digital photo. Nothing has been added to the images. But the digital info is manipulated differently. It is a bit like when the brain from the same void of nothing renders a world in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Notes on ‘the empty breath’
Updated June 7, 2023

The function of the empty breath is not to improve the apparent condition of what and where you appear to be. That would be a replacement of one illusion with another. Instead, its function is to facilitate the undoing of the belief that what and where you appear to be is real. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
The empty breath is not about getting healthier, more money, success, love or anything else, but realising what you appear to be and have is nothing. Hence there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
It is difficult to explain the bliss of nothing that arises from the empty breath because it comes from not perceiving experiences as something.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Connecting with the empty breath, you do not aim to go higher but to fall into the bliss of nothing.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Why is nothing so blissful? Because without something, there are no problems.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
It is impossible to leave oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Yet, it appears possible to imagine not being there but in a world where there seems to be more than one. In that context, you get a life jacket from oneness: the empty breath.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Since the empty breath loves you unconditionally, it is not bothered by your fantasies of being someone definitive. Besides, it is nothing, thus seeing nothing specific. That is why every experience of something is perceived as nothing when connected with the empty breath. Of course, this does not mean you do not do something about a broken leg, for example. But since it is seen as nothing, you do not add worries to your broken leg.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Connecting with the empty breath has nothing to do with appearance but being a medium for nothing, which you are when willing not to be something specific, even when meeting a precious friend like Alexius does here in the hospital. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
What you see on a computer screen are zeros and ones on a hard disk combined to simulate there is something on the screen instead of nothing. But it is not before an app has processed a combination of zeros and ones on the hard disk that you see something on the screen instead of nothing.
In this context, the empty breath is zeros and ones unprocessed by the brain, whereas the world of the screen is zeros and ones are processed by the app called the brain. But the empty breath does not know, you choose to believe the brain’s fantasy of nothing as something.
All the empty breath knows is that reality is oneness. Thus all that it wants is to breathe emptiness into what you believe in being and seeing so that it does not seem to hide, there never was or will be more than oneness because it is formless, thus endless.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
As you probably have read in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings many times, oneness is formless, thus endless. And since it requires more than one to experience something, every experience is fictional. Consequently, it also applies to the experience of the empty breath.
Nevertheless, this experience, deeply rooted in an archetypical image of a never-ending rhythmic flow, slowly but surely corrects the misunderstanding that experiences are real. Furthermore, it becomes unproblematic to experience something. Not in the sense that you have no bad experiences but are indifferent to them.
If this feels confusing, do not try to figure it out. But go with the chaos until you cannot make ends meet and feel as if you are about to explode, which in a sense, happens when the build-up tensions ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Therefore, since it takes you to a state of not-knowing, you are not bound by the belief in being someone definitive until you leave this state and return to the belief in being someone.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Returning to that which is one is not a matter of going anywhere. Oneness is formless, thus endless, so it is impossible to leave it. Unfortunately, it seems possible to believe it is possible to separate. Fortunately, the empty breath undoes this belief so gently that we can enjoy our mistake while having it undone. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings gladly proclaim they are nothing, and you do not get something when connected with the empty breath. Thus nothing to perceive the present moment as something, wherefore you do not get the frustration of something but the bliss of nothing. Read here how to connect with the empty breath.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Just like what you appear to be is nothing, so is the empty breath. But unlike you, it does not need to conceal its nothingness by appearing as something. Consequently, nothing prevents it from being what and where it is most beneficial for you – even under your feet if that is what it takes to make you see you are a fantasy made from nothing.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Though the empty breath has no need to be remembered by you, it is beneficial that you remember it now and then. Temporarily being connected makes you feel better appearing as someone definitive when not connected.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
A state of not-knowing does not only come from the empty breath. It is the outcome of all Alexius’ Duality Hacks. But if this state always is the same cannot be known because it is a state of not-knowing.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
It is extreme sensitivity to a world defined by time and space that makes you feel fed up, thus feeling so uncomfortable that you give up and go with the uncontrolled energy of confusion, igniting a take-off into the empty breath.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Going with the flow of the empty breath is just as easy as going with the flow of sex. The latter, though, does not result in the undoing of the belief that you are someone definitive unless the orgasm is used to ignite a take-off to the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Following the flow of the empty breath is no different from following the flow of the genitals because no thinking is needed. However, being horny enhance the belief in being someone definitive, whereas the empty breath phases it out.
That is not to say that sex should be avoided because excluding sex or anything else adds to the definition of you as someone definitive. Actually, an orgasm can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath if you do not hold back but are nothing but orgasmic (read more about sex here).
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Following the empty breath, you automatically multitask because it does not know of focusing on something specific. Therefore, when you do not feel the empty breath, multitasking makes you feel it.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Since you perceive experiences based on a remix of memories, adjusted every time you recall them to boost the story of you as someone definitive, your perception does not match others.’ Therefore, you conclude something is wrong in your story or others’ and start to correct what you judge as incorrect.
The more you appear successful in this, the more it seems the story can be shaped to create a better version of you. Yet, no matter how the story is corrected, it remains a fantasy, and so does the idea that you are the author – just like you are not the author of a dream, nor are you in it, or the dream in you. It is a deception the brain makes to look as if nothing is something.
Fortunately, the brain cannot make the empty breath look like something, so when we are connected with it, we are in the bliss of nothing, thus not conditioned to perceive our experiences per a story we have made up to improve ourselves.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Some claim the amount of info coming from digital media makes them stressed. But that is probably because they sort the news per a particular philosophy. Thus it is not the amount of information but manipulating it to support a specific opinion that makes them stressed. Fortunately, the more stressed you get, the faster it disappears when you do not slow down the pace of thoughts but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
The change of size and weight from hefty to almost nothing – for example, vinyl to CD to MP3 to streaming, and computer to smartphones to wearables – is a reminder that reality is sizeless because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to have a shape.
For the same reason, oneness cannot be seen. That is why the purpose of the empty breath is not to reveal oneness but that what you see is nothing. Hence your interpretation of nothing as something does not seem to hide the formlessness of oneness – like when not perceiving a dream as something, it does not seem to hide you are in your bed. The empty breath accomplishes this while you enjoy seeing nothing as something.
Of course, you could contemplate that something is nothing. But it often turns into a joyless debate of something instead of being in the bliss of nothing entailed by the wordlessness of the empty breath.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There are many ways to appear in a world defined by time and space, but there is no way to leave it because you are not in it – like within the context of such a world, a dreamer is not in their dream and, therefore, does not return to bed when it is over. Likewise, you do not return to the formlessness of oneness when your apparent life in a world defined by time and space is finished because you never left the formlessness of oneness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Since most resist being nobody, they are unwilling to undo the belief in being somebody. But if you acknowledge this, you confirm your appearance is make-believe. Thus you have the willingness to undo the belief in being somebody. See also Willingness not to exclude but include undoes the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one.
That does not mean you suddenly are gone, reborn or awakened. The story of Santa Claus does not change when you grow up. What changes is that we do not believe it is real anymore. However, there is one difference between the story of Santa Claus and the story of being someone specific in a world defined by time and space. When the belief in the latter is undone or in the process of being it, you are not disappointed. Instead, you feel free to enjoy the story of duality.
You can take breaks from the story by connecting with the empty breath, thus being in a state of not-knowing. And when not connected with the empty breath, it helps you live out the story by syncing the inward and outward-facing. Since this makes you indifferent to a specific interpretation of something, you are in the duality flow. See Duality Hack #8 The duality flow goes to non-duality.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the empty breath synchronises the outward and inward-facing senses, we become indifferent to being somebody in the tangible world of the outward-facing senses, thus responsive to being nobody in the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Alexius connected with the empty breath when he, as a child, every night devoted himself to the whereabouts of the breath, thus going to sleep in the bliss of nothing. However, others were talking so much about being transformed into something higher, so the bliss of nothing seemed foolish to bring about.
Thus he hid being nobody in the bliss of nothing by pretending to be somebody in the world of something until he started writing Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings in 2012. But it was not before writing Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath that he named the way to the bliss of nothing: the empty breath.
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞
Connecting with the empty breath does not require meditation or other techniques based on exclusion, restraint and control. But neither does the connection require you not to be exclusive because if you stand by your unwillingness to include everything unedited, the uncontrolled energy of suppression ignites a take-off to the empty breath.

CANCELLEX Insisting on differences is stressful
Updated May 26, 2023

Only in a world where there seems to be more than one can you search for the meaning of life. But it is not to be found there or anywhere else because it takes more than one to find something, and life is that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
Compiling letters in various configurations, particular shapes can be attributed as meaningful and others as meaningless. When supposedly meaningful shapes are organised together divided by dots and commas, like in this article, they seem to make up a story written by somebody other than the reader, thus confirming there is more than One. But since the different arrangements of letters making up the story is interpreted by the reader, it is made by the reader. Consequently, the story does not prove there is more than One.
Let us imagine that oneness consists of endless letters and some of those make up the shapes appearing in a world where there is more than one are the same. However, since there is no separation in oneness, the letters oneness consists of cannot be distinguished from each other, thus not organised into shapes that, when added together in specific ways, seem to establish a story of a world where there is more than one.

Some claim the amount of info coming from digital media makes them stressed. But that is probably because they sort the news per a particular philosophy. Therefore, it is not the amount of information but organising it to support a specific opinion that makes them stressed. Fortunately, the more stressed you get, the faster it disappears if you do not slow down its pace but use it to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
But it is not only because there is no space to separate the letters in oneness that they cannot be differentiated from each other, but also because in oneness everything moves so fast that there is no time (read more about that here). Hence, it is impossible to organise them linearly – or in any other way.
In the context of our story about that which is One versus a world where there seems to be more than one, you could say the latter is a fantasy of slowing down oneness until there appears to be space between the letters, which therefore have a shape of their own that over time can be combined in different combinations attributed each their meaning. Thus space and time establish separation as real and the formlessness of oneness as unreal.
In other words, you slow down oneness to turn formlessness into thoughts representing specific shapes you can manipulate to your liking in a world where there seems to be more than one. Fortunately, this fantasy is easily undone when you reverse it, thus speeding up thoughts.

Unlike the Enlightenment of that which is One, the empty breath does not erase your memories of being someone. But since the empty breath resides in the nothingness from where the brain makes the experiences you believe establish you as someone, the empty breath knows you are nothing. Thus, with the empty breath by your side, the experiences do not establish you as someone substantial in a tangible world – like within the context of such a world, what you appear to be in the virtual world of a game is not perceived as real. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TAKES NO TIME
It is not a fact but a make-believe that you are someone definitive. It is exposed when you do not attribute meaning to the different combinations of letters in this article because then there are nothing to separate them, thus nothing to confirm you as someone definitive.
Since there is no more than oneness, nobody has ever left it. Thus going back takes no time.
The fastest way to get there is to welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One (see Duality Hack #10 The Enlightenment of that which is One). It promptly and relentlessly erases everything ever experienced. Hence there are no memories from which an image of you as someone definitive can be recalled. Thus not someone who seems to hide, there is no more than oneness because it is formless, thus endless.
Should you prefer to have the belief in being someone undone over time, you can connect with the empty breath (read more about that here). Once is enough because it does not know of separation. So even though you may forget the empty breath, it slowly but surely undo the belief in being someone definitive while assisting you in enjoying this belief.
Of course, you could contemplate this yourself. But it quickly turns into a joyless debate of something instead of being in the bliss of nothing entailed by the wordlessness of the empty breath.

To undo the belief in separation, you must give up attributing meaning to anything so your apparent different experiences do not appear to make a difference. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
WHEN NOTHING IS NOT PERCEIVED AS SOMETHING
The change of size and weight from hefty to almost nothing – for example, vinyl to CD to MP3 to streaming, and computer to smartphones to wearables – is a reminder that reality is sizeless because it is that which is One, and it takes more than one to have a shape.
For the same reason, oneness cannot be seen. That is why the purpose of the empty breath is not to reveal oneness but that what you see is nothing you perceive as something. In other words, when you do not perceive what you see as something, it does not seem to hide the formlessness of oneness – like when not perceiving a dream as something, it does not seem to hide you are in your bed. The empty breath accomplishes this while you simultaneously enjoy experiencing nothing as something.
NOTE: This article is part of Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath.
Consequently, you do not undo this fantasy by slowing down the speed of thoughts via meditation or something else pacifying. Nor is oneness revealed by understanding this or anything else because recognising something calls for more than one, thus enhancing the belief in more than one.
Everywhere and nowhere with ‘the empty breath’
Updated May 14, 2023

Although being in the bliss of nothing is straightforward, it may seem complicated if you assume thoughts must be controlled or stopped because focusing on them is impossible in the bliss of nothing. Neither is focussing beneficial for getting there. On the contrary, when not trying to control thoughts, they speed up until the explosion of their unedited energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath and the bliss of nothing. Connecting with the empty breath may initially feel like you have two kinds of breaths. You may struggle with the physical one, taking quick gasps of air, deep breaths or manipulating breathing per a specific philosophy. And you may feel the empty breath does not supply you with enough air. But that is probably because its pace is slower than you expect. It has a more extended break between breathing in and out to stabilise breathing in oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide.
UP AND DOWN WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
It does not feel like it is yourself but a ‘generator’ in the abdomen that makes the empty breath. It expands the abdomen, the belly, and the chest very gently. Then, after a short break, it contracts the body. And then it starts all over. But it may feel like hardly any air is coming through the nose because the empty breath is experienced via the inward-facing senses, which requires the outward-facing senses turned down. Hence you are not much aware of physical movements. Nevertheless, like an inner breath, the empty breath brings all the necessary air. Read more about the inward and outward-fencing senses here.
Physical speaking, breathing can be done through the mouth, but the nose is better. It allows you to use the mouth for the taste of oneness technique, thus getting its side-effect of defocusing and, therefore, in the bliss of nothing. See the paragraph The taste of oneness in The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them.
Please be aware that this article does not intend to present a factual explanation of breathing when the empty breath is in the driving seat but how it feels. Since it is felt via the inward-facing senses and the physical breath is felt by the outward-facing senses, the experience of the empty breath goes on undisturbed by the physical condition of your body.
Therefore, if you have an issue with the lungs that shortens the physical breath, you still get the whole experience of the empty breath when you remain in the inward-facing senses and patiently wait for the empty breath to fill your lungs with the bliss of nothing. And since there was nothing before there was something, the nothingness of the empty breath gives you maximum charge if you do not expect something.

Following the rhythm of the empty breath described here and elsewhere in Duality hack #9 In the bliss of nothing with the empty breath is hypnotising. That is why you forget to experience yourself as someone separated from others by time and space. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
The generator of the physical breath is the muscle called the diaphragm, between the stomach and the chest (see Wikipedia). But, as already said, the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen. So from there, you follow the swing of the empty breath to the top of the head, more or less aligned with the body’s expansion from the abdomen to the chest. At the same time, you acknowledge thoughts and feelings without editing them. Hence their unbound energy ignites a gentle explosion in the top of the head, erasing the perception of being someone. After that, it is like having a body that is not there because you are in a state of not-knowing.
Read more about the swing of the empty breath in What does the empty breath feel like? And read about a state of not-knowing in A state of not-knowing and the after-effect.
That remains while the body contracts, and you go with the swing of the empty breath down to the abdomen. After that, you keep going up and down with the swing of the empty breath, thus still in a state of not-knowing and its bliss of nothing. This is not to say that a state of not-knowing resides in the breath’s flow. It is nowhere. That is why it is obscured by the experiences of time and space that seem to confirm you as someone definitive in a tangible world.
If the above example, you followed the swing of the empty breath going up and down. But you could also have surfed the yin-yang-shaped waves in a vertical circle from the front to the back of you or the other way, thus going up and down in a circular movement. Or perhaps you listened to the transparent sound of the empty breath while going up and down. – or maybe you changed between those ways or did them simultaneously. Read about that in What does the empty breath feel like?
But if you stay in a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, at a time, you cannot return to the experience of being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one. Read more about that here. So if you want to return to that, you better depart a state of not-knowing relatively quickly. Since you do it with the slate wiped clean, you come back unconditioned, wherefore igniting a new take-off into the empty breath is easy. Below we look at how you can quickly go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone.
The empty breath cancels out the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one. That does not mean they are not experienced as different anymore, but that difference is not perceived to make a difference. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
When you every so often return to the empty breath, nothing remains a problem because the differences that appear to cause problems are not perceived to make a difference when you are with the empty breath.
That is, if you do not prevent the empty breath from doing that by insisting your spouse, for example, makes a difference. Fortunately, the frustration that seems to arise from upholding a singular perspective can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.
EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
In the aforesaid, you followed the empty breath from the abdomen to the head, where you entered a state of not-knowing in which you remained as nobody for some time.
However, in this sample, you are only in a state of not-knowing when you follow the empty breath from the head to the abdomen while the body contracts. But when it expands, you return to the conscious experience of being somebody by remembering something specific. Fortunately, with the help of the empty breath, you do not perceive that as something. Hence you return to the head as nobody and go down to the abdomen in a state of-not-knowing while the body contracts. From there, you go up to the head again as somebody and leave as nobody in a state of not-knowing. And so on.
Having done this for a while, going back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone becomes automatic. Eventually, you do not know when you are somebody because the contrast of up and down is soon cancelled out (read more about that here). Thus it feels as if nobody is going nowhere and everywhere.
Please notice that when parts of the body, like the head, are mentioned in the movements of the empty breath, you do not experience those parts as compact but transparent because you are with the empty breath. In What does the empty breath feel like? you can read more about the different ways of experiencing the empty breath.

Suppose you think you find something better around the next corner. In that case, you will probably not notice the empty breath because it is not behind anything but before everything that the brain has twisted into an experience of something from out of nothing. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
HERE OR THERE?
Since you a long time ago accepted that the body’s expansion and contraction are related to breathing in and out, you do not have to think about this connection anymore. The same applies if you psychologically decide that breathing in means you are conscious of being someone and breathing out that you are in a state of not-knowing – like you do not have to do anything to feel attracted to the kind of look you have decided is cool.
Having said that, in a state of not-knowing, all conditioning is cancelled, so you return to the consciousness of being someone with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since you are the basic self, you are in the duality flow, thus unable to uphold a specific decision. Fortunately, that is unnecessary because a state of not-knowing complements the duality flow. Besides, a state of not-knowing makes you laugh, so you may still be laughing when returning to the conscious experience of being someone, thus quickly reentering a state of not-knowing.
FROM THE THIRD EYE WITH THE EMPTY BREATH
So far, we have said the ‘dynamo’ of the empty breath is in the abdomen. But if you prefer a more metaphysical approach, you can use the third eye as ‘dynamo’ and start going with the empty breath from there.
You do that by defocusing on the third eye. Then you patiently wait until the breath starts by itself. But you do not go with the flow of it. Instead, you rest in the space that seems to have opened in the third eye, filled with the transparent sound of the empty breath. From there, you probably sense the swing of the empty breath in the upper part of the body, and when breathing in, you have glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One.
Whether connecting with the empty breath from a ‘dynamo’ in the abdomen or the third eye, you do not notice the constant streaming of thoughts from the brain. So, except when returning to the conscious experience of being somebody, you are in the bliss of nothing, thus feeling transparent, regardless of looking the same.
There is also a ‘dynamo’ for the empty breath in the eighth chakra above the head. From there, you start in a state of not-knowing and simultaneously surf both sides of a vertical circle side of you until you reach the heart. Here you start contemplating the bliss of nothing, so you are not in a state of not knowing when you surf back to the eighth chakra simultaneously on both sides of a vertical circle that goes forward and backwards of you. Returning to the eighth chakra, you are back in a state of not-knowing until you surf down to the heart, where you again contemplate the bliss of being nobody. And so it goes. If you are a high-frequency person, this is probably your way with the empty breath.

You do not need to remember every detail of this photo to get a sense of it. Likewise, you do not need to remember all the explanations about the empty breath to sense it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
FORGETTING UP AND DOWN
Connecting with the empty breath is not a matter of letting go or surrendering because doing so enhances the belief in being someone definitive. And you keep the empty breath at bay if you try to figure out which way to follow it or if it follows the physical breath. It has nothing to do with the body. Actually, you will never know if the physical and empty breath are aligned because you are in a state of not-knowing when connected with the empty breath.
It is a matter of speech when Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings say that the empty breath fills you with emptiness. It does not supply you with anything. But it exposes the body as nothing covered by an experience as if it is something. The same applies to any experience you have. They are nothing disguised as something. Acknowledging this, you are not bothered by something. That is why it is so blissful to be with the empty breath.
Should you forget to go up and down with the empty breath, there is no reason to blame yourself because there is no self. It takes more than one to be or have a self, and there is no more than that which is One. Thus being someone is make-believe. Of course, that also applies to being connected with the empty breath. Nevertheless, it does not establish you as something because it gives you nothing. Hence what you believe in being is exposed as unreal.

Since the empty breath sees nothing but emptiness where you believe to see something, it has no need to be free from anything or be recognised as something. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.
RELATING TO THE NOTHINGNESS OF THE EMPTY BREATH AS SOMETHING
It may be easier to remind yourself about the nothingness of the empty breath by relating to it via something. For example, sometimes Alexius calls it Uma, the name of his beloved cat. She is dead, thus not appearing as something but nothing like the empty breath, so the memory of her hooked up with the empty breath is like a laser of nothing going through his perceived obstacles of something in the body. Hence nothing stops him from feeling the connection with the empty breath.
