Those who hear or feel the humming from far away echoing oneness cannot use it to improve themselves or the world. But they will be used by it as a door to close the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one, so there is no experience to hide that which cannot be experienced, namely that which is One. That does not mean they will be transformed because that requires more than one. Nor does it mean they will cease to exist because they have never existed since there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If a world where there seems to be more than one is unreal, but that which is One is real, it is impossible to be in a world where there is more than one. And yet, we appear to be in such a world. However, one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, like Alexius, does not believe but pretends to be there, like when playing a computer game. That is why his below description of the world standing still, for example, does not reflect reality but how Alexius experiences pretending to be where he is not. The same applies to listening to the echo of oneness or having other glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE WORLD STOOD STILL
The first time the world stood still was in Alexius’ teen years. He looked out the window, and everything was covered by snow. It was like the whiteness outside of him turned everything white inside him while Donovan’s Jennifer Juniper was playing in the background.

He forgot to participate in the story of time and space. And the air, he perceived as so thin that there was no space between anything. Although music was coming out of his speakers, the silence was so loud that all he heard was the echo of oneness.

Much later, on a walk along the sea, the echo of oneness was there again – and not so much later, when he was walking on a pedestrian street busy handing out flyers, the distant echo of oneness was so intense that even though people were moving around, it was like there was no movement and no people. He did not know what was going on, nor did he try to figure it out because when you hear the echo of oneness, you do not need more.

After being accustomed to hearing the echo of that which is One, he realised that this distant humming is what the words Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise and that people do not hear it because they expect those words to reveal a higher understanding. But there is no understanding get, and neither is there any need for it when you hear the distant humming that Aum, Sohang and The Word of God symbolise.

THE ECHO OF ONENESS
The word guitar is a symbol of something that makes amazing sounds. But you do not sense them when reading the word unless you have heard them before.

That is the same regarding Aum, Sohang or The Word of God. These words symbolise the distant humming of oneness. But if you have not heard the unpronounceable vibration of oneness, they will not remind you of the distant sound you hear from a computer when your ear is close to it.

To be so close to the computer, you have to stop focusing on the world empowered on its screen. The same applies to hearing or feeling the distant echo of oneness coming from the edge of the universe. In other words, you must stop focusing on the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one to hear or feel the echo of oneness. You can read what it feels and sounds like here.

The echo of oneness hangs about a world where there seems to be more than one. It is the engine of that world but not in the sense that it produces it. That is not possible because it echoes that without a beginning or end. Hence it cannot create anything specific. But its energy is used to keep together the imagination of a world where there seems to be more than one, although it is not there itself – just like the dreamer’s energy makes it possible to have a dream but not to manifest the dreamer in the dream.

The vibration that ‘Aum’ and ‘Sohang’ symbolises is your launching pad to oneness.

Therefore, this primordial vibration is not for you if you dream about getting famous or rich or making the world a better place per a specific belief. It knows nothing to achieve or make better. On the contrary, it undoes everything conceivable, so there is nothing but that which cannot be experienced, namely, the formlessness of oneness.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE VERSUS GLIMPSES OF IT
The Enlightenment of that which is One cannot be experienced as that requires more than one. Therefore, the above is not about the Enlightenment of that which is One but about having glimpses of it by hearing the vibration that Aum, Sohang or The Word of God symbolise. Such glimpses you have when the definable world of the outward-facing senses is so far-off that the distant humming from the edge of the universe is the nearest.

But this is just one aspect of having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One. The other ones are striking visions of light, hearing the crispness of ethereal harmonies, tasting the sweetness of oneness, or feeling any of these expressions. However, since society is very focused on visual impact, you may only have heard of the visual aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The inward-facing senses reveal glimpses of Enlightenment when the outward-facing ones are partly closed. Thus they are not physically tangible. As long you experience the Enlightenment of that which is One in one of its aspects, you have glimpses of it. But if you stop perceiving one of these aspects as made of different elements, there is nothing to define you as an experiencer. Hence, since nobody experiences them, there is nothing but the Enlightenment of that which is One (see hack #6.1 From the inward-facing senses through a black hole into that which is One).

REALITY IS NEVER-ENDING. THUS EVERYTHING THAT ENDS IS UNREAL
Compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One or having glimpses of it, appearing to be someone in the world of the outward-facing senses feels like a distraction. But why not enjoy this definable world? There is nothing to lose. You are not someone definitive, so you can pretend to be anybody in the world of the outward-facing senses. If you are into concepts of love, you can perceive the world through glasses of love. It is all make-believe, so you may as well pretend to be in wonderland. Especially if you do it with the duality flow because then your wonderland is contrasted by sorrow, so you feel wonderful when you are sad. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

When the world experienced through the outward-facing senses is an illusion, one may conclude that the world experienced through the inward-facing senses is real. But what is real never ends, so both the inward and outward-facing senses are unreal because all their experiences have an end  – including glimpses of Enlightenment.

THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE IS A JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE TO THAT WHICH IS ONE
Metaphorically, you can say that what you experience via the inward-facing senses is a wall surrounding that which is One. The wall seems to have no substance. Yet it can be seen, heard, felt or tasted. Suppose you do not try to define this. In that case, the outward-facing senses have nothing to work with and a door that looks like a black hole, with a thin frame of white light inside it and rapidly spiralling bright light around it, suddenly and very quickly sucks you into it.

However, you do not reach oneness since the black hole has no end. Nonetheless, since you have the belief in being someone undone, you are what you always have been and will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. In other words, you have never been someone experiencing something.

The inward and outward-facing senses, the Enlightenment and its glimpses

Inner visions of light of anything at all is not the enlightenment of that which is one, as it takes more than one to have a vision. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

It takes more than one to have a vision, so no matter how impressive it may be, it is not the Enlightenment of that which is One but a glimpse of it. It is comparable to a movie trailer, a sample of the whole, thus not undivided.

The world of the outward-facing senses is experienced via seeing, hearing, feeling and tasting/smelling something that appears material. The world of the inward-facing senses can also be seen, heard, felt and tasted. However, you do not get a sense of something tangible but abstract. It is also here that you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

It comes through a hole that sometimes seems black. See the article The ins and outs of a black hole. But following the light into it is the end of both the outward and inward-facing senses. Hence the experience of something is over. Therefore, if you are aware of something, you are not in the Enlightenment of that which is One. Instead, you are in the world of something where you, via the inward-facing senses, have glimpses of Enlightenment while also noticing the world of the outward-facing senses.

If you for a moment forget what and where you are you are, the world of something does not appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.

You get into the Enlightenment of that which is One when its glimpses are not perceived to differ because then there is no separation to define you as someone definitive. Hence there is nobody to prevent the construction of thoughts that have replaced the formlessness of oneness with something specific being extracted by an exceptionally bright white light. Nor is there somebody to be aware that there is nobody. Consequently, nothing gracefully falls through a black hole that is no more because there is no experience to hide the formlessness of oneness.

Therefore, since what you believe in being has not been Enlightened, you appear to be the same if returning to the experience of being someone definitive. However, you do not believe this experience is real due to vague memories of formlessness. Hence you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One.


Since the Enlightenment of that which is One has no beginning and end, someone definitive cannot experience it. But glimpses of it – for example, travelling through lucid worlds of light – have a beginning and an end, so they can be experienced. This is done through the inward-facing senses, when the outward ones are toned down.

The outward and inward-facing senses
The outward-facing senses are geared to experience a world perceived as outside you, thus separated from you, whereas the inward-facing senses help you experience a world that does not seem separated from you. However, that does not mean it is inside you. There is neither anything inside nor outside of you, as that requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is one.

It is the same within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one, because, scientifically speaking, it consists of empty space. Therefore, what you experience is make-believe – also reading that it may be easier to undo this deception by turning down the volume of the outward-facing senses, and turning up the volume of the inner ones.

If you seem to see an E here, you are using the E, you have made in your mind, to hide all the empty space.

If you believe in seeing an ‘E’ here, you focus on seeing something recognisable to join the brain’s remodelling of empty space into something. The empty space is not the formlessness of oneness, but not when you do not interpret it as something, there do not seem to be substantial elements hiding the formlessness of oneness.

PARTIAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES RESULTS IN GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT
If you do not constantly focus on something specific, the outward-facing senses cannot fabricate the experiences of a world defined by time and space. Therefore, the more you defocus, the more the definable world of the outward-facing senses is complemented by the abstract world of the inward-facing senses. Thus you get glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One: light shows if you are visual-minded, ethereal music if you are auditory-minded, and flavours or feelings if you are emotional-minded.

In the article The four aspects of Enlightenment and how to sample them, you can read how to see, hear, feel and taste glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is One.

Just welcome the glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One that comes your way. But do not try to hang onto a specific glimpse or have it repeated. And it changes into another aspect of the Enlightenment of that which is One, go with that without trying to mix them.

These glimpses, as already noted, are not the Enlightenment of that which is One because it has no room for someone being conscious of something since that requires more than one. That does not mean what you believe in being is transformed by the Enlightenment of that which is One. Instead, it is dismissed as an illusion.

Practically speaking, it might be best to downplay the visual glimpses of Enlightenment in daily life. That is because you will have difficulty navigating the world of the outward-facing senses while having visions of light. But in most cases, you can safely go with glimpses of hearing, feeling or tasting the Enlightenment of that which is One.

The purpose of the inward-facing senses is to draw you into their abstract world, thus undoing the belief of being someone definitive – like a moth cannot help but follow its attraction to the flame, even though it is going to end of it.

Much devotion to the world of the inward-facing senses probably makes you spaced out in the world of the outward-facing senses. Yet, if you do not have to be present there, you can go with the flow of the inward-facing senses, as if the world outside you stands still. But suppose you have to do something demanding in the world of the outward-facing senses. In that case, it is best to mostly devote yourself to the outward-facing senses, so the abstractness of the inward-facing senses does not space you out.

NOT FOCUSING ON THE OUTWARD-FACING SENSES
As mentioned above, the more you defocus, the more the inward-facing senses take over. In the case of the Enlightenment of that which is One they do that entirely, and for having glimpses of Enlightenment, they do it partly. If you want to experience daily life in the world of the outward-fencing senses through the inward-facing senses, they are only used to the extent that you still can function as someone in the world of the outward-fencing senses. In other words, you do not have glimpses of Enlightenment, but you have an enjoyable experience of doing things in the world of the outward-fencing senses.

But you do not tone down the outward-facing senses if you want to escape them because you enhance what you try to escape psychologically. On the other hand, the more you wish to get close to reality, the more the outward-facing senses fade out because the inward-facing senses are much closer to the reality of that which is One. However, do not mistake them for reality. Instead, enjoy them taking you there.

Of course, this is a metaphor. You can never return to oneness because you never left it since that takes more than one. Therefore, you are not taken anywhere, but the belief in being somewhere is taken away, so nothing seems to hide that which is One.

HIGHWAY ONE
What you appear to be in a world where there seems to be more than one is a creation of the brain, governed by it. You have no free will but to perceive its arrangements in your way. However, this does not mean you cannot choose to go right or left, for example. But whatever you choose, the subsequent actions are premade by the brain – just like in a computer game where every step is programmed. In other words, if you choose to have the outward and inward-facing senses synced, the brain has a plan for that, namely, to take you on a journey without distance.

Thus you are on Highway One, which has no direction, and since you are going nowhere, eventually, you realise it has always been the case. Consequently, the belief in having left that which is One is undone. In other words, you are not a puppet of the brain anymore and never were because a world where there seems to be more than one is not real, as oneness is formless, thus endless. However, since we still appear as somebody in a world with more than one, we continue within that context below.

The body’s healing caused by partly being devoted to the inward-facing senses is a side effect that helps you not worry about its appearance and inevitable end.

THE INWARD-FACING SENSES AND THE BODY
Devotion to the inward-facing senses will heal your body because it gives the body the peace it needs to heal itself. That may not include genetically caused diseases.

However, due to the tranquillity of the inward-facing, a genetically created condition does not generate fear. Thus it is easier to deal with (see hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues).

But suppose the body’s well-being is the purpose of devoting yourself to the inward-facing senses. Since that means you focus on something specific, you do not enter the world of the inward-facing senses, so the body is not being nurtured by it.

TOTAL DEVOTION TO THE INWARD-FACING SENSES BIDS WELCOME THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE
Complete devotion to the inward-facing senses welcomes the Enlightenment of that which is One, which immediately erases all memories of you being someone. Since that means you are not there anymore and never were, nobody knows how long this takes. Besides, the Enlightenment of that which is One is not a process but one perpetual present.

But at first, it may seem to be a process, and as long as that is the case, the brain that produced your experiences as someone is still operating. Thus it can be rebooted and recreate the experience of you as someone definitive. But since it takes more than one to be anything, the reestablished experience cannot contain the Enlightenment of that which is One. So although you are to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One, you look the same. The only difference is that you know it is not you.

However, as soon as the Enlightenment of that which is One does not seem to be a process, the brain cannot be rebooted and, therefore, not produce the experience of you as a substantial being in a tangible world. Hence there is nothing to hide that which always has been and always will be, namely, the formlessness of oneness. There is, of course, nobody to be aware of this since it takes more than one to be conscious of something.

A perfect moment with glimpses of enlightenment is something you are aware of. If you stop being aware of it, you cannot see any glimpse. There is nothing and that is where the enlightenment of that which is one sets in. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Depending on how much you use the inward-facing senses to perceive your experiences in the world of the outward-fencing senses, you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, its glimpses or simply have a pleasant day. The Enlightenment erases all experiences, so there is nothing to sense, not even that which is One, since it takes more than one to be aware of something. Having its glimpses, you notice the world of the outward-fencing senses, but it does not mean much to you. But just using the inward-facing senses a little, there are no glimpses of Enlightenment, and you are much aware of the world of the outward-facing senses. However, it looks friendlier, and you feel more relaxed..

IS THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THAT WHICH IS ONE REQUIRED TO UNDO THE BELIEF IN BEING SOMEONE?
The Enlightenment of that which is One can be said to be the last step back to the formlessness of oneness. But as formlessness is endless, you have never left it. Thus it is not about going back but realise how you hide the formlessness of oneness by believing in being definitive.

As already mentioned, the Enlightenment of that which is One undoes that belief in a split second. However, this can also be achieved while enjoying the world of the outward-facing senses. In the below box, there are some suggestions on how to do this:

The more you perceive the apparent differences in the world of the outward-facing senses to not make a difference, the more the outward-facing senses function as a set-off to that which is One (hack #3.1 Inclusiveness is freedom).

The same applies to pretending to be definitive (hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation or seeing symbols of life in the world (hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of oneness).

And it also applies to being alone together, which does not mean that you are together with one or more who also are alone, but that you are alone together with your fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one, no matter how many there seem to be around you (hack #7.1 Alone together, we go home).

The empty breath (HACK #5, A state of not-knowing is nothing but bliss) syncs the outward-facing senses with the inward-facing ones, so you over time are able to devote yourself so much to the glimpses of Enlightenment that they do not seem separated, wherefore the Enlightenment of that which is One sets in.

You do not even need Alexius’ Duality Hacks to have the belief in being someone undone. All that is necessary is not to remember what and where you are because then the belief in being someone definitive does not appear to hide the formlessness of oneness.


Since multitasking allows you to experience both love and hate emotions simultaneously, hate is as blissful as love. Furthermore, multitasking disturbs the brain, making it harder for it to focus on something specific, thus undoing the belief in being someone definitive.

The reason that so many avoid multitasking is that it leaves them no time to suppress hate so they can uphold their perfect image of love. But since love cannot be defined without hate, their perfect love is fake. Thus they are not full of love but shit. However, not suppressing hate, your love is defined by hatred and vice versa. Therefore when you feel hate, there is also love. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

Here the world of the inner senses are about to shift to bright white light, which is gonna extract all the info you have collected in order to appear as somebody and leave it at the edge at a black hole so that there is nobody to fall into the nothingness of that which is one. This is not compatible with appearing in a world, where there seems to be more than one, so if that is what you want, you better make sure the info making up your personality is not extracted or you know where to find it again. This image could illustrate the last glimpse of the Enlightenment of that which is One before you give up being aware of something. There is no transition from having glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One and being sucked into it. And since it is one perpetual present, you do not know when it extracts all your thoughts about being someone so that nobody is sucked into a black hole, and it gracefully falls into that which One. It is incompatible with appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, so if you want to continue like that, you better stop the extraction of thoughts. You can do that, for example, by fearing to disappear because it takes more than one to fear something. Thus you immediately appear as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

WHERE DO GLIMPSES OF ENLIGHTENMENT COME FROM
Physically speaking, glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One seem to originate from a non-defined space behind the frequencies of thoughts near the pineal gland. It is probably also from there that you perceive the world when you are in a state of not-knowing.

The same applies when you pretend to be a person or perceive everything in the world as symbols of oneness. The empty breath – sounding like sohang – is presumably picked up from there as well, physically speaking.

Furthermore, the pineal gland might work as a receiver for signals picked up by the eighth chakra above the head. Maybe the pineal gland or the eighth chakra is involved when experiencing glimpses of Enlightenment. You cannot know because you are blown out of the experience – and afterwards, you do not know where to look. And this is fine because focusing on the pineal will not bring about any of the above. It contracts the energy, so you feel boxed in as someone definitive. On the other hand, defocusing removes restrictions wherefore, you do not feel limited to being someone specific.

Notes on ‘the empty breath’

It may not always be the experience that the empty breath is your best friend because it does not help you regarding what and where you like to be. Instead, it helps you see everything through its eyes of indifference, so you feel good no matter what and where you appear. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It is difficult to explain the bliss of nothing that the empty breath entails because it comes from the absence of perceiving experiences as something.

Connecting with the empty breath, you do not aim to go higher but to fall into the bliss of nothing.

Why is nothing so blissful? Because without something there are no problems!

When connected with the empty breath, what you seem to receive from the world is always the same because you receive what you give and give what you have, namely the indifference of the empty breath.

Feeling the connectedness with the empty breath, you cannot help but smile because, in the flow of the empty breath, you are indifferent to becoming and getting more.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since the empty breath is indifferent to differences, being loved does not make a difference when connected with it. A

The function of the empty breath is not to improve the apparent condition of what and where you appear to be. That would be a replacement of one illusion with another. Instead, its function is to facilitate the undoing of the belief that what and where you appear to be is real.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Being connected with the empty breath, you are indifferent to the apparent differences in a world where there seems to be more than one – just like you are indifferent to the experienced differences in the world of a movie or a computer game because you know they are make-believe. Actually, the empty breath still takes care of you when you forget it. Of course. you cannot feel it as described in What does ‘the empty breath’ feel like?. But since it syncs the inward and outward-facing (read more about that here), you are indifferent to a specific interpretation of something, thus in the duality flow. See hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality.

The empty breath does not know how to heal hay fever or anything else caused by the belief in being someone definitive. But it knows how to undo this belief. And since you get relaxed in that process, new ways of healing your hay fever may pop up. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

It is impossible to leave oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Yet, it seems possible to imagine not being there but in a world where there seems to be more than one. In that context, the empty breath is a life jacket you got from oneness when you left it to be and have more than one.

The empty breath loves you unconditionally. Thus it is not bothered by what and where you believe to be. Actually, it does not even know this fantasy of being someone definitive. It can only be shared by those who want that. But the empty breath has no way of being or seeing something because it is nothing, thus seeing nothing.

That is why every experience of something is perceived as nothing being connected with the empty breath. Of course, this does not mean that you do not do anything about a broken leg, for example. But since it is seen as nothing, you do not add worries to your broken leg. Therefore, since changing or transforming something or somebody does not seem appealing, you have a laid-back life with the empty breath.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Taking deep breaths or, in any other way manipulating the breath is not beneficial for connecting with the empty breath because doing so enhances the belief in being in charge. The same applies to making yourself centred, balanced, focused or something else.

But the willingness not to hold back thoughts connects you with the empty breath because their uncontrolled energy ignites a take-off into it, whether you walk, sit, talk or whatnot. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

The more you limit yourself to being someone definitive, the more you feel like collapsing. To prevent that, you improve your definition until you feel so constrained that you burst into anger or stop giving a shit about holding yourself together. Thus the uncontrolled energy of the suppressed thoughts and feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath. However, it does not help you escape your cage but the belief that you are in it.

When you do not define what is going on so you can remain in the fantasy of being someone unique, unconfined thoughts or feelings repeatedly shoot off to ignite a take-off into the empty breath.

What you see on the screen are zeros and ones stored on a hard disk simulated as something on the screen. Yet, it is not before the combination of zeros and ones on the hard disk is processed by an app into the world that appears to be on the screen that the nothingness of the hard disk is experienced as a world that you can change.

The empty breath, which in this context is unprocessed zeros and ones, does not know that you assign special meaning to the nothingness on the screen, which in this context is the world, so you appear to be someone experiencing something instead of nothing.

All the empty breath knows is that there is no more than the formlessness of oneness. Thus all that it wants is to breathe emptiness into what you believe to be and see so that it does not seem to hide, there never was or will be more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

If the present stream of thoughts or feelings is not manipulated or suppressed, its natural energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. You can make up stories of love or anything else in its presence without leaving the empty breath because it sees the world where you believe in being as a blank computer screen. So although the stories you fabricate seem to disclose something, the screen remains empty.

In other words, it does not matter how you perceive the experiences produced by the brain when you are with the empty breath. You do not need the happiness from being in sync with the brain. You are in the bliss of nothing until you define it as something.

If something seems to bother you, use the frustration to ignite a take-off into the empty breath so you can see that what you judge as something terrible is nothing. See Take-offs into the empty breath.

Since that which is One cannot be experienced, it is ignored by those who believe that something unexplainable is unreal. At best, it is imagined as a state of consciousness in which the self has been transcended into a higher one. However, oneness has nothing to do with being somewhere or conscious of something because that requires more than one. So does being someone. The empty breath is not about getting healthier, more money, success, love or anything else, but seeing what you appear to be and have is nothing. Hence there does not appear to be something hiding the formlessness of oneness.

As you probably have read many times in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, it requires more than one to experience something. Therefore, since oneness is formless, thus endless, every experience is fictional. That also includes the experience of the empty breath. It is as unreal as any other experience.

Yet this experience, which is deeply rooted in an archetypical image of a never-ending rhythmic flow, slowly but surely undoes the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. Furthermore, it makes it seems unproblematic to have this belief. Not in the sense that you are not troubled by anything but indifferent to it.

If this feels confusing, do not try to figure it out. But go with the chaos flow until you cannot make ends meet and feel as if you are about to explode, which in a sense also happens when the build-up tensions ignite a take-off into the empty breath. It results in a state of not-knowing, so you are not bound up with the belief in being someone definitive until you leave this state and return to that belief.

Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings gladly proclaim they are nothing. So when connecting with the empty breath, there is nothing to perceive the present moment as something. The changeover to a state of not-knowing may seem unpleasant. That is because the brain tries to distract you from leaving its definable world by producing very tangible and disturbing experiences, making you feel attacked as someone definitive. See also Stories about inclusion.

Following the empty breath, you automatically multitask because it does not know the concept of focusing on something specific. So when you do not feel the empty breath, multitasking makes you feel it.

Entering a state of not-knowing (see A state of not-knowing, how to get there) only takes a second. It happens automatically when you have lost all hope of fixing your problems because that makes the uncontrolled energy of your worries ignite a take-off into the empty breath. When you leave a state of not-knowing, the slate has been wiped clean (see The after-effect of a state of not-knowing). Therefore, since you perceive everything as ‘it is what it is‘ (see hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy), you have nothing to hope for. Thus, you are free.

Where to find the bliss of ‘the empty breath’

The bliss of the empty breath may be felt like an intangible yin-yang sign

When you do not believe to be made of substantial elements, empty space takes over. That can, of course, not be illustrated. Instead, this yin-yang illustration simulates the swing of the empty breath. It generates emptiness in you, thus the bliss of nothing. Read more about that here. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

When experiences are perceived as something, it is impossible to be in the bliss of nothing, revealed by the empty breath. Thus the connection must be established before the brain, based on signals it claims to receive from our sensory system, delivers a convincing experience of being somebody substantial in a tangible world.

Science states that the world we believe in feeling and seeing consists of 99.9999999 per cent empty space. And the rest – despite also being empty space consisting of nothing substantial – is what we perceive as elements of matter making up a tangible world where we appear to be somebody definitive.

In other words, since the perception of the body as an opaque, tangible and definable thing is make-believe, an out-of-body experience is just as illusionary as an in-the-body experience. 

On account of this taking one second for the brain to accomplish, the connection with the empty breath is established by going back one second from your present experience (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath, and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ). One second ago, your present experience was nothing because the brain had not processed it into something. Therefore, since there is not something to define you when you go back one second, there is no difference between you and the empty breath.

That has nothing to do with getting closer to your pure essence. There is no soul. You are nothing. It becomes obvious when being with the empty breath. Hence you return to the world of something as nobody, having fun pretending to be somebody. How to connect with the bliss of the empty breath

You connect with the empty breath by not connecting with the consciousness of you as someone definitive experiencing the tangible world that the brain spends a second fabricating from the frequencies it imagines to receive from empty space. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

A STATE OF NOT-KNOWING:
The empty breath
sees no separation, so it has no need to connect with you. But you believe in separation, so you need to connect with it to become indifferent to that belief See also, You exist nowhere but in dreams, and they are not real.

Forget about being conscious of the empty breath because what you are aware about is never the present but the past.

When you connect with the empty breath by going back one second to the nothingness the brain has processed into your present experience of something, the unprocessed moment is extended into a state of not-knowing. In this state, you do not pick up on the brain’s deceptive fabrication of you as someone substantial in a tangible world. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

However, this state cannot last more than 20 minutes, 45 at most, because the brain feels abandoned if its experiences are not perceived as real continuously. Therefore, since it falls into a coma, you cannot stay too long at a time in a state of not-knowing if you want to return to being someone in the experience created by the brain. But suppose you do not wish to appear in the brain’s experiences anymore. In that case, you do not mind that the brain stops mapping out empty space as if you are someone substantial in a tangible world because then, via the Enlightenment of that which is One, the nothingness of you gently falls through a black hole into that which is one.

Therefore, regardless you want to remain as someone definitive or not, a state of not-knowing induced by the empty breath is bound to end pretty soon so that the consciousness of being someone definitive can be resumed or completely erased.

No need to worry about accidentally staying too long in a state of not-knowing. First, hardly anybody comes to the point where the brain starts falling apart. Secondly, should you reach that point but long to be someone, fear of survival will set in. That is enough to reboot the brain, thus the experience of being someone definitive.

Is it the bliss of the empty breath that undoes the belief in being someone definitive, or is it the undoing that connects you with the bliss of the empty breath? Since this question arises from the belief in being someone definitive, a fantasy fabricated by the brain, an answer would make the illusion real. The same applies to asking who has invented this illusion or who chose to undo the belief in it. If that could be answered, the illusion would be real. A QUESTION THAT CANNOT BE ANSWERED
How not to be deceived by the brain’s experiences of something and instead drift in the bliss of nothing cannot be answered. The question is founded on the belief that you are someone definitive, and the bliss of nothing comes from not believing that.

Neither can it be known if it is the empty breath or being indifferent to the belief in being someone that comes first concerning the sheer bliss of nothing. The only reason somebody wants to know this – or anything else – is that they believe to be defined by what they know and want to remain like that rather than nobody in a state of not-knowing.

Thus the above about where to find the transparent bliss of nothing, entailed by the empty breath, is not an attempt to answer the question but to rule it out. The same applies to the below, which further explores the above.

IN THE BLISS OF NOTHING
Even though it only takes the brain a millisecond to register the signals, it imagines receiving from the sensory system this very moment, what you consciously experience right now happened in the past because the brain has used one second more to process those signals into someone substantial experiencing something in a tangible world, that it expects you to perceive as real because if not, you are exposed as nothing.

When not organising thoughts and feelings into specific categories, they do not seem to represent something in a substantial world. Hence there is nothing to block out the empty breath, which does not know of such a world or that you believe to be someone there. All it knows is the nothingness from which this fantasy has been made.

In other words, since your experience of now is a delayed interpretation of nothing that the brain has used one second to compose, what you believe in reading now you read in the past. Actually, you never read it because one second ago, it was not something but nothing. Therefore, when you acknowledge you are never in the present but in the past, where you are nothing, there is not something that seems to separate you from the empty breath.

what you believe to be is the brain

The brain uses five per cent of its capacity to construct a self that, through singled-out memories, feelings and imaginations, makes up an exciting story about itself, stored all over the brain as if it is you. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Just five per cent of the brain is used to shape the conscious experience of ourselves as somebody defined by time and space. However, much more space is needed to establish this experience as real. Hence a big part of the brain is continuously occupied with thoughts about ourselves as if they are caused by a tangible world outside us, thus seeming to confirm we are somebody in it. But if the brain cannot deceive us into seeing something where there is nothing, it falls into a coma after 20 minutes, 45 at the most. And since all the memories to back up what we believe in being are stored in the brain, this belief is terminated.

Therefore, if you want to hold onto the belief in being someone, you cannot stay too long as nobody in a state of not-knowing. However, it is not a problem because most leave this state as soon as they enter it. Their urge to be someone definitive is so deep-rooted that it is easy for the brain to break through a state of not-knowing with images of you as someone becoming and having more. Being such a fantastic person seems much better than being nobody in the bliss of nothing.

In the bliss of the empty breath you are indifferent to being and having more

The urge to be and have more is the cause of all suffering because more want more, so you will never be or have enough. Fortunately, this is not a problem when connected with the empty breath because it is indifferent to differences. Hence you always have enough. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

However, it is hard work to live up to the expectations of being unique, and it seldom results in the recognition imagined. Thus, suddenly you prefer to have your frustration ignite a take-off into the empty breath (see how in the articles Take-offs into the empty breath and How to ignite a take-off into the empty breath ) and instead float in the bliss of nothing that arises from the indifference to the desire of being and having something special.

The flow of the empty breath goes in all directions – up and down, back and forth, from right to left, or anywhere in between – within an irregular circle with no fixed centre or size (see the illustrations in What does the empty breath feel like?). Once you have been with the empty breath, it automatically syncs the inward and outward-facing senses. Thus the sense of tranquillity in the inward-facing ones helps you get through the sense of turbulence in the outward-facing ones (see The empty breath syncs the inward and outward-facing senses).

That does not mean it will seem easier to get a new spouse, more money and whatnot in the world of the outward-facing senses, but it becomes apparent that it makes no difference what you seem to be and have when perceived from the inward-facing senses.

The brain automatically fills in the missing pieces in this image to make you see two triangles. Hence you may not see the grey triangle is an illusion and the one partly framed by a black stroke is disconnected. But if you cover the three incomplete black circles, the grey triangle disappears, and the other one appears fragmented.

However, the brain does not only decide what we see but everything we experience. We are fabricated and controlled by the brain into believing we are somebody substantial in a tangible world, and not the formlessness of oneness.

Consequently, there is nothing to heal but the sick belief that it is possible to be someone definitive. It automatically happens when connecting with the empty breath, because it takes us back one second in linear time to the nothingness from where the brain has rendered our present experience of being someone.

This does not mean that the empty breath is the formlessness of oneness because it takes more than one to be something. However, metaphorically speaking, it is the door to oneness.

now is an illusion fabricated by the brain

When the brain, now and then, screens out what you see so you do not get seasick from the movement of your eyes, it fills the gaps based on memories. But as they have been heavily edited, what you believe to see may clash with what others think they see. The discrepancy makes you feel something is wrong with you or the world. IN THE WORLD OF SOMETHING
In the first episodes of a new TV show, there are normally hints pointing to the forthcoming episodes, and since the brain thrives from envisaging what is going to happen next, it is captured into anticipating the future of the characters and thus enchanted by its own predictions into a state of amusement.

The writers of Game of Thrones try to hook you up and fence of the bliss of the empty breath

The writers of ´Game of Thrones´ want us to bond emotionally with the characters, so that we feel attracted to them as if they are real and not just a fantasy. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

But if the writers of the show do not comply with their own hints when inventing the next episodes, the future of the characters does not turn out as predicted by the brain. Thus the fate of the characters becomes a mystery, that the brain hopes to unravel in the following episodes, wherefore it compels you to stick with the show until the very end. In other words, it is not you but the brain that is in charge.

However, since these visual impressions are a remix of memories, adjusted every time you recall them to boost the story of you as someone, what you see does not match what others see. Therefore, you conclude something is wrong in your story or others. Consequently, you start to correct what is judged as incorrect.

The more you appear successful in this, the more it seems that the story can be shaped to create a better version of you. Yet, no matter how the story is corrected, it remains a fantasy, and so does the idea that you are the author – just like you are not the author of a dream, nor are you in it, or the dream in you. It is a deception made to look as if nothing is something.

Fortunately, the brain cannot make the empty breath look like something, so when we are connected with it, we are in the bliss of nothing, thus not deceived to perceive the experiences produced by the brain as something.

In the bliss of the empty breath the belief in duality is undone

In a state of not-knowing, the brain cannot establish you as someone definitive. But this does not mean that your awareness as someone definitive is replaced by something better, higher or purer but by no consciousness. Thus, nobody knows the bliss of not believing to be someone. WHEN DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES ARE NOT PERCEIVED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
In a state of not-knowing, the brain continues to process experiences it claims are based on something received from the sensory system.  But it is empty space, the brain twists into something to fool you into believing you are someone substantial in a tangible world. However, since the empty breath is indifferent to the experiences, they are not perceived as something.

Therefore, since there is no awareness of being someone definitive, there is nobody to be happy, sad or anything else. That does not mean that there are no thoughts and feelings but that nobody relates them to them as if they are something.

The brain deceives you to fence off the bliss of the empty breath

The problems you perceive to have, do not come from the world where you appear to be but from the belief that you are there. Hence the solution to all problems is the same, namely to undo that belief. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

When the body, where you appear to reside, again and again, drops something, you may be defined as clumsy. If you believe this and feel guilty about it, you might want to change it.

But since every effort to improve yourself is based on the belief that there is something wrong with you, your efforts are not changing this belief but enhancing it. You secretly accept this because even though you do not like to be defined as clumsy, it is preferable to not being defined because that means you are nobody.

Yet being nobody, there is not somebody to be clumsy or something else. Instead, there is the bliss of nothing.

In short, the connectedness with the empty breath is simply a way not to perceive the experiences fabricated by the brain as something. Hence they do not appear to establish the belief in separation.

Going with the flow of the empty breath is just as easy as going with the flow of sex. The latter though does not result in the undoing of the belief in being someone definitive, unless the orgasm is used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Following the flow of the empty breath is no different from following the flow of the genitals because no thinking is needed. The result of being horny, though, is the enhancement of the belief in being someone definitive.

This is not to say that sex should be avoided (read more about sex here), because the exclusion of sex or anything else adds to the definition of you as someone definitive. Actually, an orgasm can be used to ignite a take-off into the empty breath, if you do not hold back, but are nothing but orgasmic.

Although the connectedness with the empty breath eventually undoes the belief in separation, it also enhances it because it requires more than one to choose this.

Since nothing appears to make a difference in a state of not-knowing, there is no special place to go or someone special to love. This may feel like being stuck inside an unbreakable armour of pain instead of floating in the bliss of nothing.

However, if not trying to escape the feeling of claustrophobia but being it and nothing else, there is nothing to define you as something. Thus you are in the bliss of nothing.

Therefore, not to enhance but undo the belief in separation, you do not select the empty breath or anything else. And since you are nothing without choosing something, you are in the flow of the empty breath.

A world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to a movie of oneness played in slow motion

It is only in the world of duality, that there appears to be movements, and that there can be more of it. In reality no movements can appear, because everything move so fast that it is one perpetual present as you can see illustrated in these pics of a fan.


In that which is One, everything moves so fast that there is no separation – like in the first image, where the extreme speed of the ceiling fan cancels out separation. However, when the fan is slowed down, there seems to be more than one. Likewise, a world where there seems to be more than one appears to come into being when that which is One is imagined to slow down. The graphic is grabbed from the web and manipulated by Alexius.

In the movie Lucy, Scarlett Johansson demonstrates that when time is speeded up infinitely, there is nothing to see. This is comparable to that which is One. It is so speedy that there is no separation to define something. That is why it is formless, thus endless, and a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion.

STEPPING INTO THE FULL UNCONTROLLED SPEED OF THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS, THUS A STATE OF NOT KNOWING
When you want time to process an experience, it is not to understand but shape it into a perception that matches your conditioned view of the world, thus avoiding feeling anxious.

Since it calls for more than one to be aware of something, that which is One cannot be realised. Therefore, if you dot not try to understand this article by taking your time to process it, you are on a timeless journey to oneness.

However, anxiety is preferable regarding not hiding that which is One because doubts prevent you from categorising thoughts and feelings. Hence they run as fast as they can back to their origin of nothing – just like a river hurries back to the sea when not manipulated. Thus you are in a state of not knowing until you welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One or return to the consciousness of being someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. ONENESS VERSUS A WORLD WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN ONE
Oneness can be compared to a movie where it is impossible to distinguish anything from each other because it is played so fast that none of its frames can be seen. However, when slowed down, there appears to be more than one frame, wherefore you see a world where there seems to be more than one. See also the previous article.

So if you believe to be someone in the movie of a world where there seems to be more than one, you do not undo this belief by slowness but quickness because you need to speed up the film – or rather, your experience of it. Since that is a construction of thoughts, the faster they move, the more the frames appear to press on, and the less you get the experience of more than one.

The Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk plays extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, which produce overtones so trance-inducing, that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it.

That happens by itself when thoughts are not shaped into interlocking Lego bricks, used to build an appearance of you as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. When thoughts are free, they speed up until it is impossible to hold onto them. Thus you enter a state of not knowing from where you return with the slate wiped clean to the awareness of being someone – or have your consciousness terminated by the Enlightenment of that which is One, so there are no experiences to hide there never was or will be anything than the formlessness of oneness.

If you close your eyes after having been deeply involved in something, physically or mentally, you may see a blurred picture of that, like a frame of a movie speeding up. It looks a bit like having vertigo, but if you keep your eyes closed , it will not disturb your normal perception of the world. Instead, its unrestrained energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath.

The same applies when you worry and do not try to pacify yourself but instead step into the full uncontrolled speed of thoughts and emotions. Then a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. In short, returning to oneness is not about slowing down thoughts, least of all stopping them. In the context of the movie metaphor, you are stuck in a single frame of an empty void, separated from similar ones, if you stop your thoughts. This numbness of stillness is as far as you can get from oneness because it is not deadlocked but free-flowing energy, moving at such a speed that everything is fused into the formlessness of oneness (see the first box).

Therefore, as already said, you undo the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one by speeding up thoughts to the extent that they do not appear to differ. Since that makes it impossible to experience something definable, there do not appear to be any shapes hiding the formlessness of oneness.

THE PURPOSE OF EXPERIENCING SOMETHING IS TO FEEL ENTERTAINED
What you perceive as real, imaginative or spiritual is based on the thoughts the brain has combined like it composes a dream, namely turbulent, chaotic, unpredictable and incompatible with your rational perception of yourself and the world. Therefore, if this chaos seems to support your rationale, it is because you, in retrospect, interpret the irrational arrangements of the brain, so they seem connected per your reasoning.

However, it seems weird to the brain that you run around like headless chickens, trying to put it all together per socialism, for example, instead of being entertained by the experiences it creates for you. The brain does not understand your logic. It only cares about entertainment. Like a magician, it likes pulling rabbits out of hats. For example, doing the laundry, you start as normal. But to entertain you, it breaks conformity by drawing you to the window to see a demonstration on the street. Looking at that, you feel amused and return energised to the laundry. That is all. There is nothing special to understand.

On the other hand, if you had planned to do the laundry linearly and tried to stick to that, going to the window would not seem entertaining but disturbing. Hence you blame the brain for distracting you and look for methods to control it, so you will be free to do things your way.

When you do not wish to be in control, thoughts do not seem bothersome because there is no need to arrange them into something confirming you are in charge.

But just like you do not control the course of a dream, you have no say in how things evolve when you believe to be awake. The brain is always in charge. You cannot avoid it if it has scripted you to go to the window. Read more about the brain’s script in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

That said, you can decide to go slowly or fast to the window. But no matter your choice, the brain has already arranged the subsequent events, like every possibility in a computer game is composed by the writer, wherefore nothing in the plot can be changed.

Astrology is an attempt to disregard the brain and make it look like something else than the brain governs you. The same applies to religious and spiritual doctrines. And the unfortunate belief that physical and non-physical issuess can be mixed. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

Nor is it necessary to change anything because when not manipulating the game, the fear of falling is as entertaining as the thrill of rising. Therefore, since there is no need for something specific to make you happy, the belief in being someone definitive is undone while you feel amused.

But being angry is also a terrific way to undo the belief in being someone definitive. When you do not try to control the anger, its unbounded energy ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, your experiences of something are perceived as nothing. Hence there is nothing to uphold the experience of being someone definitive.

It is only in undoing the belief in more than one that thoughts should not be organised into specific shapes. Appearing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, thoughts must be set up in particular constructions to confirm your appearance. But maybe not how you expect.

How to ignite a take-off into ‘the empty breath’

When not trying to make sense of this image but going with its absurdity, the free-flowing energy of the experience spontaneously ignites a take-off into the empty breath and its bliss of emptiness, provided there is a willingness to forget what you believe in being. As soon as you have had enough of the frustration coming from keeping together a fantastic image of yourself and you do not try to edit or transform your feeling of desperation, the raw energy automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath. Since it resides in nothing and your current experience of something is processed by the brain from what it imagined seeing in nothing one second ago (read more about that here), the take-off into the empty breath only takes one second.

In other words, when you connect with the empty breath, you go back one second in linear time to the nothingness the brain twisted into your present experience of something. But perceiving that with the empty breath, it is not seen as something, thus not confirming you as someone. Hence you are in the bliss of nothing.

In linear time, though, this may take a few more seconds or even years because, out of reflex, you probably fight off the nothingness of the empty breath by forcing the physical breath through your body to feel it is something real. But when you stop fighting the empty breath, it passes what you believe is something in the body as nothing.

That said, the function of the empty breath is not to heal the body but the sick belief that you are in it. So although it may heal the painful areas of the body by approaching them where they were made, namely nowhere, it is not the priority of the empty breath. However, that does not mean the body should not be taken care of while you believe in being there. See hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

What you believe in being is nothing twisted into something by the brain. In the presence of the empty breath, which is nothing unprocessed by the brain, you become indifferent to the brain’s experiences of something. Therefore, since there is not something to define you as someone, you are in a state of not-knowing. The animation is grabbed from the web.

Despite the empty breath being nothing, it is experienced like something in a world where everything is expected to be felt. For example, like moving yin-yang-like waves that you surf, being everywhere and nowhere in the sound of it, joyfully moving with the swing of it, or being still in the abstractness behind its rhythmic flow. Although it probably was unaltered speed and chaos that connected you with the empty breath, it is not a speedy or chaotic affair being connected. Think of being high up in the sky in an aeroplane. Although speed ignites the take-off and must be maintained to keep you in the air, it is not the speed you feel up there but a relaxed experience of floating in the air.

Regarding speed, whether connected with the empty breath or not, we are always moving extremely fast because the Earth, thus also us, is spinning at 1.000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. However, maintaining a definitive perception of ourselves, we do not feel this movement, thus unable to use the speed to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. Hence hack #5.1 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing mostly uses our suppressed energy for take-off into the empty breath.

Let us imagine, you cover your eyes with your hand, so you can daydream about being in a world that revolves around you without being disturbed by the world outside of you. Though it feels great to be in a fantasy where everything turns out the way you want, it also feels strange to be cut off from the actual world.

So when you want to see the world as it is and not as you imagine it should be, and you sense it is your own hand that stops you from seeing reality, you automatically remove it. In other words, the built-up frustration of not seeing what is real and the realisation that your own hand hides it, makes you remove the obstacle so you can see the world as it is.

You may not only sense the bare feet that have made the footprints in this photo but also the body you imagine they belong to. HAVING HAD ENOUGH IGNITES A TAKE-OFF INTO THE EMPTY BREATH
The above box resembles how a take-off into the empty breath is ignited. The perception of your experiences as something hides that they are a fantasy made from nothing. This perception is to be compared to the hand in the above box. The hand is made from selected thoughts organised into a spiritual or mundane vocabulary that you share with like-minded ones to establish you are real and not a fantasy of the brain. When you have had enough of the confusion that this vocabulary entails, you loosen the grip on the selected thoughts, making it up. Thus you start to see that being someone is a daydream. And when you are fed up with living a fantasy, your frustration ignites a take-off into the empty breath. In its emptiness, you are still in the world of something. However, since the experiences of something are perceived as nothing, you are not attributed with a specific meaning, thus in a state of not-knowing, and unaware of the bliss that comes from nothing.

The empty breath cannot be experienced as something definitive because it resides in the nothingness, unprocessed by the brain. Hence you do not notice it if you want to experience something specific.

That is until you return from a state of not-knowing to the conscious of being somebody, and blissful memories of nothing pop up. This does not mean you consider yourself unique. On the contrary, the slate has been wiped clean in a state of not-knowing, so you are the basic self you always were meant to be, thus feeling satisfied. The connectedness with the empty breath does not come from meditating, chanting, or any other self-control technique because control enhances the belief in being someone definitive. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

This satisfaction does not come from something in particular but from being true to your nature (see hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy). Therefore, since there is no need always to look for something specific to make you happy, now and then, there does not appear to be something hiding the bliss of nothing. In other words, you automatically go back and forth between a state of not-knowing and the conscious experience of being someone. See also Going everywhere and nowhere with the empty breath.

Are you confused about how to connect with the empty breath? If so, do not try to clear up the turmoil but go with its unedited energy to ignite a take-off into the empty breath. But be aware that you will never get to know how to connect with the empty breath. It is not something but nothing, and you cannot learn how to connect with nothing. But if you forget what you know, you do not need to connect with it because there does not appear to be something hiding that you are nothing.

AN EMOTIONAL EXPLOSION
The empty breath is often ignited by an emotional issue where two opposing elements accelerate so much that they suddenly meet at incredible speed. Therefore, the empty breath is revealed since they explode and cancel out each other. But since it is nothing, the revelation is not a physical sensation. Instead, perhaps like having a transparent body shivering with joy. The connection with the empty breath does not solve physical problems, only psychological ones. But if you have projected psychological issues onto the body, they are no longer experienced to disturb it. Hence the body might appear lighter.

THE PURPOSE OF ALEXIUS’ DUALITY HACKS
There is no reason to diligently learn all the duality hacks for undoing the belief in being someone definitive. None of them is a goal in themselves – nor do they lead to the target. There is no destination because you are already there.

Hence the purpose of applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks is not to return to that which is One but to expose the belief that seems to hide it, namely that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

You undo the belief in duality by enjoying it

Anything perceived as good is just as bad because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. That is why you do not get the duality flow if you try to hold onto being hurt, for example, to prove you are a victim of somebody evil. In most cases, you do not have to read Alexius’ Duality Hacks in a particular order. But in the case of this article, you may benefit from having read hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

You need to be true to the nature of dualism to undo the belief that you are someone in a world of duality. Hence you should live by twofoldness. If you try to stay in an unparalleled state of mind, you are unaccompanied. And since you can only depart from non-duality by envisioning there is more than one, this is also the way to return. Therefore, if you insist on singularity, you remain in a simulated world of duality.

NO FEELINGS ARE SINGULAR:
The duality flow is not about what you feel but the interaction of that and its opposing part. To be in the flow, you start by being aware of your singular response to an experience. That reveals what you feel contains its counterpart.

For example, inside love, there is hate. That is because they need each other to be defined, and they do that by constantly interacting. Any minute though, hatred may show that it can also be defined by kindness. Then this twofoldness replaces the former until kindness reveals it can also complement selfishness. And so it goes until you want to make a difference by doing things in your specific ways, thus not being in the duality flow anymore.

Believing you can do things in your specific way, although you do not know who you are, continues until you are fed up with the hectic stream of thoughts required to hide you are nothing but a puppet of the brain made to enjoy a world of duality. Then, accepting that, you are back in the duality flow.

If you suffer because somebody has died, you stand by the discomfort so it can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Since that reveals your feeling is not singular but twofold, you do not feel left alone but still together.

FEELINGS ARE TWOFOLD:
The first time Alexius experienced the duality flow was during a gentle massage many years ago. But it was not until much later he put words to it and realised perceiving his present feeling in the psychological sphere as ‘it is what it is’ reveals it is not singular but twofold. Thus being in sync with duality, he feels complete.

Lately, it happened when Alexius’ cat died. Since he could feel the loss in his body, he knew something was wrong. A dead cat does not have the power to create sensations in his body. Therefore, as it could only be something he unconsciously had projected onto his body, he consciously brought it back into the psychological sphere. There the feeling of loss was revealed to be coupled with birth.

So although he had lost his cat, physically speaking, she was delivered to him in the psychological zone. Actually, she had been in this airy sphere all the time because whether a cat is alive or dead, you have no physical connection. Therefore, since Alexius got into the interaction of life and death in the psychological area, he felt happy/sad with his cat.

In other words, the death of his beloved cat turned out to be a blessing because it made it impossible for him to project psychological issues on her physical being. Hence, he and she got back into the psychological sphere, where they had been all the time and will remain until the experience of duality is over. That is not about beating off the body. On the contrary, it frees the body from the mental ideas about integrating it with non-physical issues. Thus the body can blossom physically. Read more about Uma and Alexius here.

Therefore, if you want to feel good in a world of duality, do not use the body as a means to feel that. Happiness is in the psychological sphere, in an ongoing interaction with sadness. When you join their interplay, the duality flow vitalises you.

Even though Alexius’ cat Uma is dead, Alexius connects with her through this picture or any other memory because everything he believes in being is in the airy psychological sphere. Although he cannot see Uma there, physically speaking, he can feel what he experienced they had together. It is like listening to the ocean’s waves without seeing them. However, at first, it was not what Alexius assumed they had together he got in touch with, but the sorrow of missing her. But this was only until he realised his mourning for Uma contained her. A FEELING ALWAYS COMES WITH ITS COUNTERPART INSIDE IT:
Having the counterpart of a singular feeling revealed is not an intellectual process. First, you perceive the specific feeling as ‘it is what it is.’ Second, in a state of expectation, calling for nothing specific, you patiently wait a few seconds. Third, your singular feeling opens up, and its counterpart fills its space.

The transition is so gentle that you forget the initial feeling. But unlike that, the new one does not seem singular because it is defined by the first one, which the new one then defines. This interchange is as automatic as breathing in and out. One automatically leads to the other. Thus you may forget the elements in a duality pair. However, you do not forget how well-grounded and beloved you feel in the interplay of its opposites.

When you start perceiving your reaction to something as ‘it is what it is’, it is probably the revelation that it is not singular but twofold that blows your conditioned opinions away. But later on, it is the collaboration of opposites, resulting in the duality flow, that overflow every definitive statement.

BEING VITALISED BY THE DUALITY FLOW:
At first, you may get to the duality flow from the perception, ‘it is what it is,’ but after a while, you can recall it by memory. You choose to enjoy the interaction of the opposing element in a duality pair instead of dividing them into distinct components assumed to be at odds. In short, you choose to feel the abundance of the duality flow, not the scarcity of singularity.

However, it took Alexius some time to not engage in the opposite sides of a duality pair as distinct elements but instead go with their interaction in which, like breathing in and out, they support each other. Unlike the breath, most duality pairs are quickly replaced by another. But that is not a problem because the duality flow comes from the constant movement between opposites in a duality pair regardless of the components. This interaction always makes you feel complete, whether it takes a long time, like night and day.

The duality flow reminds Alexius of the sensation he remembers from childhood when he tried drinking coca-cola. He forgot his body and was nothing but bubbles in the psychological sphere. His experience of the duality flow can also be described as being emptied by an ocean of waves gracefully going nowhere. Sometimes it feels like a pendulum moves in different directions in the psychological sphere. Feelings, though, are personal, so your experience of the duality flow may differ from Alexius.’ Nevertheless, you know you are in the duality flow when you keep smiling for no particular reason.

First, you imagine to dump your unwanted feelings in the body. Second, you tighten up the body to hide the feelings imagined you stored in it. Third, you interpret the tightened body as proof of having concealed your unwanted feelings there. Fourth, you forget all about it.

Listening to the ocean’s waves is a bit like being in the duality flow. You feel vitalised. However, if you insist on doing things your way, you soon feel restless because something needs to be adjusted to make it look like everything is going your way. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

GOING WITH THE DUALITY:
None of the opposing elements in the duality flow remains for long. One can compare this to a seesaw on a playground, where one person goes up as the other goes down. If you try holding onto the top by avoiding going down, the feeling you get is fake because you need to go back and forth to define what is up and down – just like there is nothing to describe breathing in if you do not breathe out.

Twofoldness is always the way in a world where there seems to be more than one. For example, walking requires two legs. And to take a step forward, you must include the past because it is the building stone for your future step. Therefore, if you exclude one of the legs, you cannot walk.

Likewise, you do not hit the road of duality if you exclude hate from love.  Hence you do not get the togetherness of twofoldness but the loneliness of singleness. The latter may feel like a non-concrete pain in the body, even though it does not come from there but from the psychological sphere. There you hold yourself spellbound by the idea that twofoldness can be separated into independent items and hate, therefore, can be separated from love.

You achieve this by projecting your hatred onto a part of the body you dislike. Then you lure yourself into believing you have gotten rid of hate by feeling it as a physical problem in the body. Finally, you render yourself unconscious of what you have done to see yourself as nothing but love. But emotions are abstract, and bodies are substantial, so assuming you can dump feelings in flesh and bones is absurd. In other words, since you cannot remove hatred from your awareness by leaving it in your body, what you assume to disturb you in the body is not there but in the psychological sphere.

Since the psychological area is abstract, you contact a repressed psychological emotion anywhere other than in something physical. But no need to go down memory lane to find it or understand why you attempted to hide it in the body. You perceive the disgust you repeatedly experience toward something in the present as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus, as you probably already have guessed from reading the above, aversion is revealed to interact with sympathy, thus defining each other as your personal feelings.

Realising that all feelings are personal, everything happening is understood as impersonal. Therefore, suppressing specific feelings to hold onto a self-made version of the world defined by your views of right and wrong is over. Instead, you go with the duality flow.

Notes on ‘the duality flow’ 1/2

The basic self does not need to edit the experience of the world into something that complies with special concepts of being together in harmony, balance or whatnot. When you perceive yourself as special, you constantly seek somebody to ratify your significance (read more about that here). But as closeness may reveal that your need to meet others is egoistic, you substitute genuine feelings of togetherness with conceptualised ones. For example, you adjust to the table manners of a traditional dinner part to appear close without actually being intimate – or you buy popcorn and find a classic movie to rewatch with someone imagined close to you.

On the other hand, the basic self is not someone specific but relative to the moment put together by the experiences produced by the brain. Hence it has nothing to lose by genuinely feeling the present – nor if it seems frightening because fear is defined by calmness. In other words, there is no genuine feeling of fear without a sense of calm and vice versa. Therefore, since you are in sync with your dualistic nature when your emotions are defined by their opposite, you feel amused following the interaction of opposites.

Practically speaking, you get into the interaction of opposites by not accepting fear as a specific feeling. But that does not mean you should avoid it. On the contrary, you acknowledge it to perceive it as ‘it is what it is,’ which reveals fear is not a specific feeling because it constantly interacts with its opposite, calmness so that they can define each other. And since twofoldness is the nature of dualism, this establishes you as someone in a world of duality, wherefore you can hack it. Fortunately, going with the interaction of opposites, called the duality flow, you have fun while hacking duality.

That said, when you are not interested in being special, thus going on automatic gear as the basic self, you do not have to perceive specific feelings as ‘it is what it is.’ The brain automatically does that. Maybe not in those words. But you know specific feelings have been exposed as twofold because you cannot help but laugh feeling the duality flow.

However, you do not laugh when not in the duality flow because being stuck in a specific feeling makes you nervous. You probably feel that in the stomach because to feel only positive, you suppress your negativity by projecting it onto a vulnerable part of the body. But you do not need to know what you have hidden to solve the problem of feeling confined by singleness. If you perceive your reaction to the upset stomach as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold. Since that makes you feel complete, you have nothing to worry about.

Splitting a duality pair into two distinct elements by suppressing one of them, none of them is genuine anymore because they need each other to be defined. For example, positivity needs negativity to define it and vice versa. Therefore, since they both become conceptualised, thus enduring instead of fleeting, your perception of yourself is conditioned by them. Fortunately, as you already know, ‘it is what it is’ undoes your fixed idea about what you are.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You either breathe in or out. One excludes the other. Yet, they pave the way for one another. That is the way of the duality pairs.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When you follow the nature of duality, it does not seem to have a hold on you, whereas fighting it makes you feel imprisoned. Being with duality is easy when you stop holding onto something specific. That does not mean you cannot have a particular spouse but that your reaction to that constantly is twofold.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self expects others not to question its story of greatness but to adapt to it so that the world appears ordinary and the special self seems original. That is its way of hiding that it feels inferior. However, if not hiding that, feeling worthless can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ Hence revealing it is coupled with feeling extraordinary to define each other in constant interaction, so you get a genuine feeling, not a conceptual one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When your attitude to something is single-minded, you get a specific peak experience. But this does not go on for long because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. Thus being at the top is soon replaced by being at the bottom. But if your approach to something is dualistic, you do not head specifically for the top but for the constant interplay of the highest and the lowest. Thus you are in the duality flow, which may not be as exciting an experience as solely being at the top. However, it continues to amuse you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The duality flow does not depend on the specific elements in a duality pair but on the resilient energy between them – like the springy drive that makes a yoyo go up and down.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you want positivity, you must also welcome negativity because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. In non-duality, you can neither have negative nor positive vibes because it requires more than one to have anything. If you feel you have nowhere to go and do not perceive it as a singular state of mind but a dualistic one containing nowhere and everywhere, you are in the duality flow. The same applies if you go with the interplay of irritation and relaxation. However, the duality flow is not about the opposing elements in the duality pairs but their interaction. That is what makes you feel complete – just like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you feel alive.

And like the opposing elements in the breath depend on each other, so do the components in other duality pairs. That is why you can only feel positive when contrasted with negativity. So if you are not in the constant interplay of positivity and negativity, what you believe in feeling when you claim to be positive is a concept conjured up by distancing yourself from negativity via meditation, for example. That is like separating yourself from either breathing in or out. You need them both to survive.

In short, the solution to everything in a world of duality is to keep the duality pairs intact so that the duality flow can vitalise you.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Excluding negativity, darkness, anger, or whatever do-gooders say prevents you from feeling good, destroys the foundation of duality. It is made by dividing everything into pairs, such as positive and negative, light and dark, and anger and delight. But since it takes more than one to destroy something, you also enhance the belief in duality.

You can solve this ambivalence by playing the game of duality or undoing it. You play the game of duality by perceiving your negative reaction to something as ‘it is what it is.’ This perception reveals negativity is paired with positivity. However, it is not positivity that satisfies you but the interaction of that and negativity. Especially because it sets off the interplay of other pairs of duality, so you are in the duality flow.

One way to undo the game of duality is to keep playing it because everything with a beginning is bound to end. However, that may take quite some time, so if you want to undo it right away, apply hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

You do not have to choose between good and evil in the duality flow. They complement each other. Therefore, since one is not better than the other, there is nothing to judge, thus nothing to establish fear as a specific feeling. Instead, you feel it is interacting with trust.

Being in the duality flow, you forget what you used to be. That is because it was based on single-minded concepts, and you are not someone specific in the duality flow but relative to the constant movement between opposites. In a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing components that depend on each other. Thus splitting them into independent elements to hold onto just one of them is impossible. Yet, it is possible to imagine you can get rid of your negativity by projecting it onto others, thus appearing solely positive yourself. However, you feel sluggish since this mental stance is achieved by repressing part of yourself. On the other hand, following the duality flow, you feel energetic because twofoldness is the nature of duality.

If you are into being and having the best, the duality flow experience may be a continuous movement between the best and the worst. Should you want to be spiritual, the motion is probably between that and materialism. The duality flow could also go between hope and hopelessness or between what you hold dear and fear.

Since the perception ‘it is what it is’ reveals that every experience is twofold and you are in a world of duality, it brings about completeness. However, as everything comes in pairs, completeness is coupled with incompleteness. No worries, you are neither whole nor fragmented but in the constant motion between these opposites – just like when one end of a see-saw goes up, the other goes down.

When someone is hurt in a movie, you may also feel pain and relived when the problem is fixed. But since the film is not perceived as real, it seems entertaining to participate in its ups and downs. That is how it is to be connected with the empty breath.

Having established ‘it is what it is’ as your default perception, you are always in the togetherness of the duality flow, thus feeling plentiful instead of needy when you divide the duality pairs into separate components.

The satisfaction you get from being in the duality flow is unlike what you get from something perceived as specific because you are always afraid of losing it, whereas you cannot lose the duality flow.

Since everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, there is no sense in searching for something specific. That is such a relief.

If you want the satisfaction of the duality flow, it is essential not to focus on anything specific. The same applies if you wish to undo the belief in duality. Therefore, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ cancels out anything specific, you kill two birds with one stone by applying it.

A long time ago, Alexius conditioned himself to hide his sorrow behind justified anger and disgust. That changed when he did not try to hide or rationalise his grief but perceived his reaction to it as ‘it is what it is.’ Then, he sensed a little boy floating on waves of sweet nectar inside his sorrow.

Therefore, since he saw sorrow was paired with mellowness, he stopped fencing off sadness to feel good, Hence being in the interaction of happiness and sadness became his basic experience of the duality flow.

You must play the game of duality to hack it

First, Alexius thought his fear was caused by his father, who often exploded in anger and beat him when he was a child. Next, Alexius assumed he caused it himself because he was afraid of not being good enough. Then he stopped looking for a cause. And as there is no effect without a cause, fear as a specific feeling is gone. Thus he is free to go with the duality flow. This article continues the previous one, Alexius’ childhood, where his conditioned one-sided perception in his childhood was revealed as twofold. In this article, we take a more general look at how to be in sync with duality.

When Alexius was about six years old, lying on the floor while his father kicked him, he became aware that everything is a charade in a world of duality. Alexius was not scared of his father, but he wanted to stop him and punish him for his violence. So Alexius tried figuring out how to pretend he was so terrified that his father would feel ashamed and stop beating him. See more about playacting in hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation.

He mimicked fear by shivering all over, and since it seemed to hold off his father, he concluded that making the body tremble to appear scared was the way to stop being maltreated. However, that deduction hurt Alexius because involuntary movements of his muscles have been his unconscious solution to feeling helpless since then. But fortunately, he now knows that though pretending is the way of duality, there is no need to pretend something that causes harm. Nor is it necessary to solve feeling helpless because when seeing it coupled with capability, dealing with others is not a matter of life and death like it was with his father.

But as promised in the last article and the beginning of this one, this piece is not about Alexius’ past and his way to the duality flow but how you get there and follow it to the end of duality.

When you interpret something as beautiful, you will also see something deemed ugly. Opposing contrasts are the way of duality. But you are not going to feel the satisfaction that comes from twofoldness if you try to correct or remove the ugliness so you can hold onto a distinct view of beauty.

Since everything is twofold in a world of duality, a singular impression, such as love, is fake. That is why you feel disconnected when you hold onto feeling that. But, no worries, this is easily corrected. First, you perceive your fixed impression as ‘it is what it is.’ Then, in a state of expectation calling for nothing specific, your special feeling gently turns inside out and unveils its counterpart inside it. In this case, love gently opens, and hate quietly comes out. However, like breathing in and out does not happen simultaneously, love and hate are not felt at the same time.

The love you feel is defined by hate, which is characterised by love. Thus you see, there is no true love without hatred and vice versa. Should you, out of habit, suppress hatred to hold onto a specific memory of love, you feel disconnected until you remember that feeling connected comes from not separating love and hate.

You may not observe the transition from love to its counterpart, hate, just like you generally overlook that breathing in is replaced by breathing out. Consequently, it probably takes time to acknowledge the constant movement between the opposing poles of duality – in this case, love and hate. And it may take even more time to sense the duality flow, like rolling waves without highs and lows, moves throughout your awareness (read more about that here).

Nevertheless, since the perception ‘it is what it is’ syncs you with duality, you feel connected immediately. However, this perception does not sync you with duality if you assume your response to an experience is the same as the experience because that does not reveal the interaction of opposites but states your one-sided opinion as a fact, thus that the world is not dual but the specific way you see it.

In other words, you have used the perception ‘it is what it is’ to disguise that you believe ‘I know what it is’. This happens, for example, when your nostalgic reaction to a photograph from your hometown is mistaken for the image, and you perceive that as ‘it is what it is.’ Then nostalgia is not understood as something you feel but as the specific look of the image. Hence, you have used the perception ‘it is what it is’ to suppress your response to the image, thus appearing detached from your hometown proved to be as you see it. In other words, you actually have used the perception ‘I know what it is’, thus hanging onto a single-minded opinion.

Duality can be compared to taking a ride on a rollercoaster. If you suppress the experience of going down, going up becomes endlessly boring, whereas having eyes wide open and experiencing both ways, like breathing in and out, they enhance each other. Hence you feel thrilled.

In other words, when you accept the constant interaction between up and down, you laugh when feeling on top because you are not afraid of falling down. And you cry when you feel going down but without the fear of being stuck there. Consequently, you have a splendid time in a world of duality regardless of feeling up or down.

However, if you hang onto a distinctive view of something, there is nothing to describe it, wherefore you feel sad. But twofoldness gives you the thrill because going up defines going down and vice versa, so both ways are fun.

If you uphold a romantic idea of love by hiding your hatred in the body, you set yourself free from the stiffness it seems to cause by perceiving your reaction to your rigid body as ‘it is what it is.’

Since that reveals your response is twofold, there is no specific response to confirm the idea of a stiff body hiding your hatred. The sense of nothingness that replaces it makes you laugh.

So if you wish to feel the completeness of twofoldness, it is not your experience of something that you perceive as ‘it is what it is.‘ Instead, it is the specific response you determine your experience brings about. For example, if you decide your reaction to being rejected is sadness, you perceive that as ‘it is what it is.It reveals your response is not one-sided but twofold. Thus sadness does not settle into definite grief but gently opens up and reveals there is gladness inside it.

In other words, when the definitive meaning you have assigned to a response is perceived as ‘it is what it is,its opposite is revealed. That is not a metaphor. Literally speaking, you feel sadness replaced by gladness, not quickly but gradually and as automatically as breathing in is followed by breathing out.

However, you are probably so used to hiding the interpretation of your responses to make it look like you are untouched and in the know, so it takes a while before you notice you always choose a single-minded reaction. But when you become aware of that and perceive the definitive meaning you assigned to your response as ‘it is what it is,’ it opens up, and its counterpart unfolds from inside it, as already described. Therefore, since your reaction is not singular but dualistic, it does not appear exclusively right or wrong, thus generating neither pleasure nor worry. Instead, it brings about a satisfaction that remains no matter what happens because it does not depend on something specific.

A hint: Your single-minded reaction to something is often caused by fear, feeling attacked, furious or hopeless. Thus you want to fight or hide until what you feel is perceived as ‘it is what it is.It reveals the opposite feeling and not holding onto that specifically but the resilient energy between opposites, like the springy drive that makes a yoyo going up and down, you feel revitalised by the duality flow.

Since it is not a sensational feeling of adventure but a gentle sense of pleasure, you may fail to notice it. Nevertheless, you will definitely notice that the present moment feels fine regardless your appearance.

That does not mean you do not respond with sadness if you feel rejected by somebody. But since sadness is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ it does not settle into a definite feeling of grief. On the contrary, it interacts with gladness. Accepting the interplay of opposing emotions in one polarity, another twofoldness rapidly replaces it. Thus you are in the duality flow.

Had you not perceived your response as ‘it is what it is,’ but made up a story about being sad in the specific way one is supposed to feel down, what you believe in feeling is speculative. Maybe shame is what you actually feel, but since it is suppressed, you cannot experience the interaction of shame and shameless.

Hence you do not feel the togetherness of twofoldness but the alienation of separation. Most try to cut off the dissatisfaction from their awareness by hiding it behind a sensitive part of the body, the chest for example. So when a psychological problem in the future triggers the hidden disappointment, they can interpret the resulting feeling of unease in the chest as a physical issue. Thus, their past and current dissatisfaction are hidden from their awareness. Read more about that in hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

You must judge something as inharmonious to know when you experience something harmonious. But as most people thereafter exclude the inharmonious, there is not something to define the harmonious experience. Consequently, what they get is an intellectual idea about harmony.

To justify your hatred, something interpreted as outside yourself is judged vicious. But perceiving this judgment as ‘it is what it is,’ you see that it is not singular but dual. Viciousness is complemented by gentleness so that they can define each other. And since hate defines love, you are only genuinely affectionate when your hatred is acknowledged. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

There are, of course, instances where you feel relieved when someone leaves you. Hence you may want to extend that feeling by combining it with a sensitive part of the body, the chest, for example. Thereupon, you assume any physical sensation in the chest is caused by a psychological feeling, namely the sense of relief. But since that feeling is defined by pain, and you exclude that, you do not genuinely feel relieved.

When you anticipate your friends’ opinions about a specific feeling, it seems you have it. Especially if you spin a story about it that you present in a severe tone of voice enhanced by body language illustrating this distinct feeling. Women often use this trick to appear as if they feel something special, although they do not have a clue about what they feel because, like men, they suppress emotions. Men, unlike women, do not act as if they feel something important because they think having their feelings cut off is great. Hence they are not distracted by them. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

What you believe in feeling is a concept of being relieved. For example, if it says you must smile satisfyingly to show the unpleasantness is over, you do that to convince yourself and others that you feel relieved. Or maybe you compose a story in which you appear to have been freed from something terrible in the way your friends expect this to come about. Thus they can confirm you feel relieved.

To sum up, when your reaction to something is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ the interpretation of the response is not limited to a singular feeling like shyness. Instead, you go back and forth between that and its contrast confidence, so the opposing elements can define each other, thus establishing genuine feelings.

Being amused by this potency, you go along with the game of duality. Hence the polarity of shyness and confidence is soon replaced by another revitalising polarity. And so it goes until you feel so euphoric that there is no need for more. Hence the belief in being and having more than that which is One is undone.

What you believe in being only exist in the impression you imagine you make in the world. And it only seems real because of what you imagine it does to you.

Consequently, you should not use the perception ‘it is what it is’ if you do not want to have the belief in being and having more than that which is One undone. Instead, you should use the perception ‘I know what it is.’ To make that perception work, though, you must ignore the counterpart of what you claim to know. So if you, for example, want to appear as if you know the way, you must hide feeling lost. That, however, makes you feel something is missing. And no matter where you look, you do not see it because you keep insisting, ‘I know what it is.’

When you always perceive your reaction to something as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing seems wrong. Thus every moment is the perfect moment. And although it has nothing to do with the Enlightenment of that which is One, it paves the way. Hence your story unfolds as planned, and so does the Enlightenment of that which is One. Not because your story built up to the Enlightenment of that which is One. On the contrary, when it seems to fall apart, and you do not try to avoid it, the Enlightenment of that which is One set in. Should you want to speed up the undoing of the belief in being and having more than that which is One, you say, ‘dunno what it is,’ thus forgetting you appear to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one. That does not mean your experiences are transformed. Change is a concept of duality. But it means there is nobody to confirm them as something. Therefore, you do not get the satisfaction of duality but the bliss of nothing.

Suppose you remain in such a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most. In that case, the brain gives up fabricating experiences as if you are someone having them in a world where there seems to be more than one (read more about that here) because when not ratified as something, the brain has nothing to work with. Hence all experiences dematerialise, and so does the brain.

You do not have to use the same words for the perceptions mentioned above to play the game of duality, deny it, or leave it altogether. For example, instead of saying ‘it is what it is,’ you could say ‘shit happens’ or ‘so what.’ Read more about that in Notes on perceptions.

Living in a world of duality is so much easier when you know that to be whole in such a world is to be twofold.

You repress your negativity only to appear positive, thus not getting the togetherness of the duality flow but the loneliness of singularity. Besides, being only positive, you do not feel genuine but fake because, without negativity, positivity cannot be defined. In other words, if you want to be genuinely positive, do not avoid your negative feelings by explaining them or justifying them by others but include them unedited, so they can define your positivity and vice versa. If the duality flow is what you expect to get, hence not trying to uphold a singular view but accepting twofoldness, it does not matter if it is your reaction to an experience or the experience itself that you perceive as ‘it is what it is.’ In other words, when you are ready to be what you are in a world of duality, namely twofold, you are never only happy but sad as well because all experiences are revealed as twofold.

However, it may take some time before you notice that twofoldness is the nature of duality because you are so used to suppressing negativity to appear solely positive that you do not hear the hostile voice inside you commenting negatively on everything when you feel positive. So until you accept the negative voice, thus feeling whole, you perceive your response to an experience as ‘it is what it is’ to get in touch with the revitalisation of the duality flow.

Also: In hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues, you were told to separate the psychological aspect from the physical one in a psychosomatic disorder so the body can heal itself. However, this is only if you are new to the duality flow. If you know it and do not want to be disturbed by the symptoms of a psychosomatic problem, you perceive your reaction to the symptoms as ‘it is what it is’ because you want to be in the duality flow. And so you are.

If you are not already aware, here are a few samples:

  • Talking about what others do or say instead of how that makes you feel.
  • Trying to help others to remove the attention from you and how you feel yuorself.
  • Falling in love hides the self-hatred inside.
  • Talking about metaphysically things instead of acknowledging, what you feel.
  • Being upset about something on behalf of others.
  • Meditating, chanting, praying or doing similar things to fend off what you feel.
  • Finding psychological, or any other kinds of explanation for what you feel.
  • Eating or drinking to suppress ones’ feelings.
  • Trying to prove a factual point to hide what you feel.
  • Following ideas for living in the now, or trying to live by any other totalirian concept.
  • Blaming others and justify your feelings by them.
  • Much planning and control.
  • Constantly looking for new things to buy or change.
  • Trying to always be in a good mood.
  • Working a lot and for instance clean your home, when you are upset.
  • Reading or playing computer games regularly.
  • Having revenge sex.
  • Staging yourself on Facebook – perhaps to get as many likes and followers as possible.
  • Publish photos of your happy and shiny life on Instagram.
  • Quoting others to prove you are right.
  • Keep imagining how to solve things or just making up stories.
  • Sitting with crossed legs, locking the knees by bending them backwards, raising one or both shoulders or pushing them forward.
  • Holding back the breath.
  • Assuming to know what is right and wrong.
  • Concluding this and that.

And how to not suppress your feelings?
In the duality flow feelings become very defined, but only in relation to their counterpart. Therefore, since they are not definitive but relative, you have no specific feelings to suppress.

Alexius’ childhood [draft]

During childhood, we learn to alter our emotions, thus being the nice kid who never say or do anything that makes our parents unconfortable. Read more about pleasing your parents here. But everything comes in pairs in a world of duality, so you you feel disconnected if you suppress hate, for example, to look lovable. On the other hand, you feel connected if not not perceiving the telements of a duality pair as distinctive feelings of love and hate, for example, but go with their interaction. This article is a continuation of ‘What if…?’ versus ‘it is what it is’ about the perception ‘it is what it is,’ which reveals that every experience is dual. It is is so entertaining that, eventuality, you forget about duality.

Our present perception of ourselves and others is often based on one we made in the past. In Alexius’s case, he interpreted many experiences in his childhood as scary. He blamed something outside himself, judged as horrible, for having caused the horror, thus disassociating himself from it. Therefore, since he could hide behind an image of innocence, he felt on top of it. Especially because he also got rid of his affectionate feelings in the same manner. In this case, though, he projected them onto something he decided to see as wonderful. To make long short, he split his life into horrible and wonderful experiences.

That seemed to work great, except when Alexius felt so bothered by something that his suppressed fear flared out in verbal attacks on others. Although there was no physical violence, his outbursts seemed as wild as when his father hit him across the dinner table or wherever he lost his temper. Alexius felt ashamed to see himself as hostile as his father. But he hid his hostility from his awareness by projecting it onto his stomach. And then, he unconsciously tightened the shoulders to hinder the breath from fully extracting, thus blocking the free flow of info from the body to the brain. Therefore, he could justify his grievances by interpreting the body’s signals as the world attacked him.

Another reason for distancing himself from his aggression was that if Alexius had stood by it, he might have hit his father. And that was all his father needed to burst out in a rage so violent that it could have been the end of Alexius. Hence the only defence Alexius had was silence. On top of that, Alexius tried to look hurt and sick to make his father feel guilty for how he treated him (read more about making others feel guilty here). However, this did not seem to work on his father – only on Alexius because he unconsciously knew they were the same. They both used each other as a scapegoat for their inner demon. If his father was aware of that, Alexius cannot know.

In 1972 Alexius returned from the Enlightenment of that which is One as nobody. Hence he could only remain in a world where there seems to be more than one by pretending to be somebody. Actually, that also applies to the years before the Enlightenment because we are nothing pretending to be something. But since he was not aware of that before he bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One, this article is based on his memories of believing to be somebody instead of pretending it. But already as a child, he began to grasp that everything is pretence. Read more about pretending in HACK #1, Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation. Be aware that this story of Alexius’ childhood is a compressed version. So if his progress seems quick, it is not so. Nor can he know if his description of his childhood is correct because it is done in retrospect.* Besides, he is neither a physician nor a psychologist. However, it seems he used the physical problems that arose from his congenital disability in the vertebrae to disguise his aggression and the events that appeared to have caused it in his childhood.

Since the malfunctioning vertebra pressed on a nerve going to the stomach, it was easy for Alexius to use his bloated stomach as a hiding place for the shame he felt for being exploited by his mother. She used Alexius when he was petite and adorable as an object to give her the bodily affection her husband could not provide. Due to Alexius’ bloated stomach, the diaphragm hardened. And since it is the primary mover of the breath, his chest turned to stone. Thus it seemed the perfect place to hide his naivety and devotion, so his natural generosity would not cause him to be preyed on in the future.

Alexius grew up in a war zone in the sense that he never knew when his father would suddenly hit him again. His mother did nothing to stop it, so he felt terrified and completely alone. To disassociate himself from the feelings of horror, Alexius decided to see his father as evil and himself as good. But by disassociating evil from himself, he also separated himself from love because it is defined by evil. Thus he always searched for something beautiful outside of himself. But it was difficult to find because he saw evil everywhere. Alexius finally realised that the reason for this was his suppressed darkness Fortunately, not suppressing it revealed there was also lightness because light and darkness are like two sides of the same coin in a world of duality. This polarity, and those that naturally followed, made him feel complete. Hence there was no fear of feeling evil and thus no need to hide it by perceiving the world as horrible. Consequently, the apparent difference between himself and the world he used to judge as either horrific or beautiful stopped making a difference. However, since Alexius did not feel cherished with his compassion locked down, he concluded others would only love him if he gave them what they wanted. But that seemed an unsolvable dilemma, so instead of saying no to others, Alexius walked away, closing down his gift of empathy. Maybe that was for the best because others would have exploited him entirely otherwise.

But let us delve further into Alexius’ relationship with his father, who he perceived as the devil responsible for the evil he experienced in himself. Since Alexius did not want to realise it was his own shit he saw in his father, he hid his inner demon in the neck, weakened by the malfunctioning vertebra. But he also hid it because he thought he had to be above reproach to be loved by his parents. But as his parents only loved the image he made, he felt lonely and complained about not being seen.

He repressed he had chosen to hide behind a false front of being loveable by projecting his flaws onto problematic areas of his body. So when hatred popped up, he interpreted the disturbance as a physical issue in the part of the body where he initially imagined dumping his hate. Therefore, since the resulting psychosomatic disorders became an unsolvable mystery, the helpless little boy, full of sorrow, rage and fear, remained hidden from Alexius‘ awareness. You cannot appear in the world without pretending to be a person there. But the more you add to this pretending, the more you end up believing that you are what you pretend to be instead of that which is real. It happens to all of us. In the case of Alexius, it started when he was about six years old. Undoing it began 15 years later when he stepped aside to bid welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One.

When you do not try to hide sexual lust, grievances, envy, anger, negativity or whatever you consider politically incorrect, your thoughts and feelings about something are revealed in pairs. Negative thoughts, for example, come paired with positive ones. You already know this because when one part of you senses something as good, immediately another part sees it as bad. If you do not try to decide between them but join their interplay, you feel as entertained by this polarity as any other. The more you experience everything in pairs, the less dangerous it is to be angry. Actually, you feel relieved because it is complemented by calmness. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But after he became one who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One when he was about 20 years old (see hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One), his two distinctive experiences of either something horrible or wonderful were revealed coupled as a duality pair. Out of his unpleasantness came pleasantness and vice versa. He did not hold onto the specific feelings in this polarity but enjoyed their interplay. It made him feel complete and not fragmented, like when he insisted on dividing horrible and wonderful into separated elements

The higher you aim, the lower you must prepare to go because, in a world of duality, everything comes in pairs of opposing elements.

Going with the constant interaction of opposites, which 50 years later was entitled the duality flow, he had no singular feelings to hide. Hence there was no basis for concealing psychological problems in his body. Therefore, since his psychosomatic disorders were reduced to physical issues, they could be fixed physically. Maybe not entirely, but at least to the extent that the experience of being someone inside a body became more comfortable. Read more about that in Sadness is a close friend of gladness.

Nevertheless, out of habit, an old single-minded point of view is often his first choice when he is confronted with something new. But fortunately, he soon remembers that everything comes in pairs of opposing elements that define each other in a world of duality. So then, as from an invisible crack in his conditioned feeling of disgust, a sense of delight unfolds.

He may not notice that the interaction of this polarity soon fades out because it sets off the experience of other duality pairs, for example, humility and boldness, serenity and lust, calmness and confusion, union and separation, etc. It is so gratifying that he does not sense when the interplay of one polarity is over, and another sets off. The beginning and end are another interaction of opposites that makes him feel adequate.

Not trying to control the future, thoughts become unimportant. Hence they turn into insignificant noise in the background. Read more about that here.

But usually, Alexius does not remember the names of opposing elements in the duality pairs he encounters. Going with the interaction of opposites, duality does not have to be labelled (read more about that here) – like one does not need to label the sides of a coin to sense its twofoldness. Thus thoughts are reduced to insignificant jabber in the background.

In a world of duality, a holistic experience is not singular but dualistic. In non-duality there is no wholeness to experience, as it takes more than one to be aware of something.

In other words, even though the experience of duality is imaginary (read more about that here), within its apparent reality, you feel incomplete when you separate the elements in a duality pair into distinct ones. But you feel complete going with their interaction – like the interplay of breathing in and out makes you fulfilled. That is, if you do not try to break up the duality flow by dividing the breath into specific sections via yoga exercises, for example.

You do not have to be someone who is to be compared to the Enlightenment of that which is One to feel completed by dualism. All you need is to perceive your specific opinion of something as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals it is twofold – for example happy/sad or angry/calm – wherefore you get the satisfaction of duality. Bidding welcome the Enlightenment of that which is One is a bit like getting to the point of orgasm. Nothing else matters. But whereas an orgasm is driven by the desire for something, the absence of something is the propellant of the Enlightenment of that which is One.

This does not mean, you must become purer by avoiding sex or something else, nor do you have to be harmonious, physically fit or breathe in a special way. All that is needed is to forget what and where you are because the Enlightenment of that which is One does not know of anything definable.

For the same reason, the Enlightenment of that which is One has not changed what you appear to be if you return to the fantasy of a world where there seems to be more than one. In Alexius’ case, his psychosomatic disorders were unaltered.

But since he keeps getting glimpses of the Enlightenment of that which is One, he is always reminded, that he is not in a world where there seems to be more than one. Thus he feels like in a roleplay, where one act out a role in a story governed by the gamemaster, which, in the case of a world where there seems to be more than one is not somebody else but one’s the brain.

Playing the brain’s game, the perception ‘it is what it is’ comes naturally. Therefore, since your interpretation of past events lose their specific meaning, there is not something definitive to maintain psychosomatic disorders – or to make one feel stuck in in the plot that the imaginary combo of physical and non-physical issues.

‘What if…?’ versus ‘it is what it is’

Spirituality is that which is one. And since it takes more than one to become something, you cannot become spiritual unless you believe it is possible to be and have more than that which is one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

This article is a continuation of Sadness is a close friend of gladness about the perception ´it is what it is,´ which reveals every experience is dual. Adjusting to twofoldness, you feel complete in a world of duality. Actually so much that you, eventuality, forget to remember duality.

You need to be fully anchored in the belief that you are someone in a world of duality if you want to undo this belief – just like you need to play a game to finish it. Hence this article is written within the context of duality. In such a world, psychological and physical issues do not mix. So if you conclude your worries are caused by something physical or what you feel in your body is caused by your anxiety, you deceive yourself.

Maybe you interpret your physical pain in the foot as fatal and imagine it is linked to a psychological issue from the past. Consequently, the psychological aspect appears to have caused the physical one.

Hereafter, the physical and psychological issues seem to impact each other significantly the more your imagination runs wild on a loop set off by envisioning ‘what if…?’ However, since your reaction to your thought-up outcome is revealed as two-fold when perceived as ‘it is what it is, there is no specific reaction to confirm your alleged cause-and-effect connection between non-physical and physical issues. Hence it is no more and never was except in fantasy. Read more about cause and effect here.

Therefore, the physical problem can be dealt with materially and the psychological one immaterially. Naturally, this is much easier and less scary when not fantasising about a connection between them – just like daily life feels less complicated when not mixing it with fantasies.

You cannot change physical reality. But if you perceive it so it makes you suffer, you can change that perception to one that makes you feel good.

You probably are diagnosed with vertigo* if you experience the world spinning around you. However, that does not mean the doctor believes your experience is real. On the contrary, you hallucinate because the world cannot revolve around you. Nevertheless, do not deny that is your experience. But deny that it is real. When you do that, the fear goes away. Thus you realise the whirling sensation is only going on inside you. Outside you, the world goes on as usual. Therefore, like when you look at the horizon and experience the earth as flat but correct your experience, you correct that the world outside of you spins around you when you are diagnosed with vertigo. Eventually, you realise that nothing experienced is real, as it takes more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Having vertigo* is a glaring example of believing the experience of something beyond the bounds of possibility is authentic. The world is not spinning around you. Instead, it is an inner adventure made to suppress your horrifying response to a psychological problem. But since it makes it difficult to uphold a definitive image of yourself, you project the whirling sensation onto the world outside you.

That is until you stand by your one-sided reaction to your psychological issue, so it can be perceived as ‘it is what it is.That makes a crack in horror. And out of it comes something which initially feels pretty abstract. But as soon as it has been defined by horror, it settles as its opposite, delight, whereafter it redefines horror. In this interplay, the opposing feelings are not singular but twofold. Thus there is no distinct feeling to prevent you from having the suppressed psychological problem exposed.

Another way of explaining the outcome of the perception it is what it is is that your single-minded response feels like an airball of sadness somewhere undefinable. But when not attempting to explain this vacuum, it feels like it balloons outward in a swelling bubble of gladness. This gladness does not give you peace of mind because it is a singular experience, thus a notion of apathy. But since gladness constantly interacts with sadness, you feel whole in their togetherness. In other words, when not having a singular but a twofold response, you do not feel alone but together in the duality flow. Read more about the experience of the duality flow here.

Should this procedure seems too complicated, and you forget what to perceive as ‘it is what it is,’ you perceive your reaction to this confusion as ‘it is what it is.’ Therefore, since your response is revealed not to be singular but twofold, you are in the duality flow. And since you are in a world of duality, this is what makes you feel fulfilled.**

If your vertigo is not too intense, you could approach it practically by doubting your experience and asking the brain to correct it, so the world does not seem to move around you.

Always perceiving your response to something as ‘it s what it is,’ you do not have to control your reaction to avoid feeling wrong because it is complemented by feeling right. However, that does not mean right and wrong are balanced. Dualism is not about balance because that cancels out contrasts, thus a world of duality (read more about that here). But if your vertigo is caused by a physical problem, such as tiny crystals of calcium that have gotten loose in the inner ear, you deal with it materially. Maybe you consult a healthcare professional or do the Epley exercise. If, however, your reason for doing that is to get it over and done with, you are most likely fixated on returning to things as they were.

The experience of duality is kept together by the constant interaction of opposing elements, for example the past and the future. Acknowleding this, you get the satisfaction of togetherness, whereas you get the loneliness of separation when you split the pairs of duality into specific elements.

Thus you do not feel fine regardless of the outcome like you do when your response to the problem is perceived as ‘it is what it is.’ As aforementioned, this perception replaces a singular interpretation with a dualistic one. In this case, for example, instability/stability, doubt/confidence, fatigue/health or disappointment/contentment. Many other duality pairs could be in play. But you must explore that yourself because this article is about to finish.

If this seems abrupt, and your reaction is astonishment, please perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Doing so, astonishment is no longer excluded from its counterpart, calmness. Therefore, since you are in the duality flow, you move on to other duality pairs, such as abrupt/gradual, beginning/ end, or expectation/surprise. If you do not stop the duality flow by avoiding or enhancing one part of a duality pair, you, eventually, are blown away by the interaction of duality. Thus nobody walks a path without distance or direction to that which is everywhere since it is formless, thus endless, namely non-duality.

It is impossible to experience something because it takes more than one to do so, and there is no more than that which is One. But since you are reading this, you believe it is possible to be and have more than one. Hence you must feel what and where you believe in being, to undo this belief.

When you do not hide what you do not like in yourself from your awareness by projecting it onto the body, you become likeable. That is the first step in healing a psychosomatic disorder. See hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

APPENDIX
Those who assume they suffer from a psychosomatic disorder have projected politically incorrect feelings like sexual lust, power strivings, greed, envy and anger onto vulnerable parts of the body, in the same way, some project offensive feelings onto the world.

However, since these emotions are abstract, they cannot be hidden in something tangible. Hence the projection of abstract feelings onto something substantial only conceals them from your awareness. Nonetheless, most believe their problems are gone when out of sight. Just like an ostrich, according to myth, believes danger disappears when it buries its head in the sand.

Many of those believing negativity should be avoided like to use crystal stones for healing. But lots of these stones, Amethyst for example, heals by emitting negative ions producing biochemical reactions which create positive vibes/mood and relieve stress.

This myth, though, is not valid. If an ostrich buries its head in the sand, it dies from a lack of air. And you wither from the lack of collaboration between positivity and negativity if you hide the latter from yourself with a head-in-the-sand approach. Consequently, you cannot have the belief in duality undone before your negativity is acknowledged as coupled with positivity.

Exposing your negativity, as described in The YOU finger and the three ME fingers, you feel so vitalised by the duality flow that it eventually blows you away. Hence there does appear to be somebody hiding non-duality.

Where is the psychological zone? [draft]

What you believe in being is solely an image in the psychological sphere. It has nothing to do with the body, which feels attacked if you try to adjust it to the image you have made of yourself in the psychological sphere.

The brain fabricates the psychological sphere, the body and the world of duality. But just like you do not drive a car in the factory where it is made, you do not experience the psychological sphere, the body and the world of duality in the brain. Instead, the body is experienced as something substantial in a world of duality. Where the psychological zone is experienced seems more problematic because most try to integrate it with the body.

But that is not how the brain has set it up. The psychology sphere is immaterial, the opposite of the material body. They interact to define each other, like breathing in and out, but they can never be combined. If you accept this twofoldness, the duality flow goes on uninterrupted, and you feel vigorous.

You feel the waves interact outside your body when you swim in the ocean. However, the body and the waves cannot blend. The water will kill the body if it gets inside it. Likewise, the body can enjoy what is going on in the psychological sphere, but it will fight airiness if you try to integrate it with the solidness of the body.

In Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, the psychological sphere or zone is also called the mental sphere or zone. It is airy, thus anywhere but in something substantial. So bringing back into awareness the psychological feelings you have projected onto the solidness of your body is not done by facing them in the body but in the non-material mental zone.

In this airy sphere, everywhere around you, a psychological feeling does not seem heavy anymore, like when it is combined with the body. Thus one look at it is enough to make it vanish and reveal its opposite. For example, one look at hate replaces it with love, which, when looked at, replaces hatred. And so they go on constantly interacting to define each other.

That is the way of duality. Everything comes in pairs of opposing opposites so that you can experience a world of duality. Being in sync with this twofoldness, you feel complete in your psychological zone. That is, if you do not eliminate one part of a duality pair by projecting it onto your body or the world or imagining uniting the opposing parts.

The elements of a duality pair can neither be united nor separated because they depend on each other to be defined, like two sides of a coin define each other. Therefore, messing with the interaction of the opposing elements in a duality pair, you break up duality, thus feeling broken.

In other words, you cannot hold onto specific thoughts and feelings if you want to feel complete in a world of duality. Instead, you view them with their opposing elements in constant interaction to define each other. This movement, called the duality flow, makes you feel complete, thus having no need to hide non-physical issues in the body, wherefore it is free to deal with itself materially.

Defocusing is beneficial in not focusing on the body but sensing the airy feelings in the psychological zone. It is also beneficial to remember that although a physical problem can be severe, it is most likely far from as problematic as it appears when combined with psychological feelings. Thus there is no need to worry that much.

To get into the duality flow, you do not use the perception ‘it is what it is’ on a house you see because it is not in the mental zone. Instead, you perceive your reaction to the house as ‘it is what it is.’ Since your response is in the mental zone where it is revealed as twofold, you are in the duality flow.

But maybe you do not feel your reaction in the mental zone but in your stomach, where it has triggered older repressed feelings. Since that is not in the mental zone, you do not perceive it as ‘it is what it is.’ Instead, you perceive your response to your upset stomach as ‘it is what it is.’ Thus having your reaction revealed as twofold.

In other words, it is not about finding what specifically has caused your repressed feelings in the stomach, nor what triggers them or the pattern you compulsively follow. Since the root of the problem is that you are not living by duality, it is corrected by having a twofold reaction.

To do that, you must be aware of your singular response to your upset stomach so it can be perceived it as ‘it is what it is.’ Should you not notice any reaction, there are several explanations. One is that you have already perceived it as ‘I know what it is,’ thus establishing it as a fact and not a feeling. Read more about this mix-up here. Another explanation is that the repressed feelings attributed to the stomach are based on a recollection of psychological emotions faced and forgotten a long time ago. Hence there is not something to relive. Thus nothing psychological to see when you look at the body from the mental zone. Consequently, you have no reaction to perceive as ‘it is what it is.’cx

However, being unable to choose, you may be on your to non-duality because it has nothing to choose from, as that requires more than one. But since it also takes more than one to feel complete, this journey may seem unsettling at first. You might want to blame your upset stomach for that, although it is solely a physical matter in our example that may not go away before you are discarded as someone definitive in the Enlightenment of that which is One. And below, we continue with the subject of this article, which is to have a good time in a world of duality by staying true to the duality pairs. In other words, the purpose of HACK #4 When you begin to live by duality, it is going to end is, at first, not to end the belief in duality but get the best out of it. But when you eventually feel so good about it that you forget it, non-duality does not seem hidden.

The paradox in trying to heal a psychosomatic disorder is that it reinforces the fear of the physical symptoms, thus the impression that psychological and physical issues are linked and result in a psychosomatic illness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When physical symptoms of illness trigger psychological memories of endangerment and those two are combined, the physical symptoms are perceived to cause a threat. Hence a fusion of physical and psychological reality seems to have been established. However, the physical and mental reality does not mix except in fantasy. So to heal the problem, the psychosomatic disorder must be split into physical and psychological issues.

Therefore, regarding the psychological issue, you partly disregard the pain in the body because although it is experienced as linked with the psychological issue, the connection is imaginative. There can only be physical pain. Hence the non-physical problem is faced in the psychological sphere. One look is enough because psychological feelings are fleeting when not combined with a physical problem and thus turned into something substantial which seems lasting. However, the physical pain in the body remains the same when the psychological issue is solved. But maybe not for long because when the physical symptom is not mixed up with a psychological problem, the body’s biological system is free to deal with the physical symptom as it was made to do.

To sum it up: When you appear sick, and your concern about the physical symptom triggers a past sense of danger that you interpret as caused by the present physical symptom, you develop a psychosomatic disorder. But since the body cannot be fused with non-physical issues, this imagined combo cannot be healed until its components are dealt with on its term.

This differentiation between physical and non-physical matters occurs automatically when you are the basic self. It relates to the stream of thoughts coming from the brain as it is and not as it should per a body-mind based on imaginary consistency and meaning.

If you do not feel complete, you have broken a duality pair, which is impossible because, without them, you cannot experience being someone in a world of duality. In other words, feeling incomplete is like having vertigo. It is not a reflection of the world but your state of mind. If you want to correct that, you only have to remind yourself that everything is twofold. You can do that by perceiving your reaction to your distinct opinions as ‘it is what it is’ because that reveals it is not singular but twofold.

When you do not project psychological issues onto the body, they do not seem to be hidden from your awareness. Hence you can perceive your reaction to them as ‘it is what it is,’ revealing it is twofold. Therefore, since nothing specific seems to make you suffer, there is no misery to project onto the body. Instead, it stays in the psychological sphere. But not for long because it is an airy sphere, so everything there is fleeting.

Brain fog comes from projecting a particular psychological issue onto your body because everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality, so when one part of a psychological pair is imagined to be somewhere else than in the psychological sphere, you feel blurry.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If pain in the mind is not denied the words that seems to cause the pain cannot hurt, but words projected onto the body – your own or somebody else´s – seems to be able to hurt and confirm the believe, that you are a person to be defined by time and space.

Feelings or thoughts you do not like, you hide from your awareness by imagining they can be dumped in the body. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Think of a movie as a metaphor for the physical. You cannot see the mental zone in it. It is something you add. Yet, it does not change anything but your perception of the film.

In other words, in the context of the world where we appear, everything is made of matter. However, contrary to a body in a movie, your body has feelings – but only physical ones. If it seems to have psychological feelings, you have projected them onto the body to make it appear more significant or the emotions more substantial. It could also be that you want to hide psychological issues from your awareness behind something physical, as described above.

But just like nothing changes in a movie, regardless of what you project onto it, nothing is transformed in your body when you project non-bodily issues on it. It only seems so if you envision that mentally.

Please be aware this metaphor is made within the reality of duality. In non-duality, there is nothing tangible or intangible because there is no division, like in a world of duality. However, appearing to be in such a world, you must play the polarity game if you want to end it. That does not mean you have to make an effort or understand it. Like in a board game, you move by the dice. And when the meaning you assign to the result is perceived as ‘it is what it is,’ you see your response is twofold, wherefore you are playing the game of duality. Thus able to leave the game. In the psychological sphere, you soon learn you are loved as you are because you are created by the brain, and it loves the way it has set you up. That makes the body relax. But since it only understands material matters, this is not because of love but because when you know you are wanted, you do not project unwanted thoughts and feelings onto the body or use it to prove you are worthy.

Notes on meditation, the basic and special self

So if you hate big things and abandon them, you also exclude small ones. Since small things cannot be defined, they become a blurry concept. Likewise, if you perceive yourself to be free from hatred, the love you believe to experience is fake. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The brain’s function is to create entertaining experiences for the self that it has fabricated. Therefore, if they do not seem to please but frustrate the self, its consciousness most likely perceives them, so they comply with a conceptualised way of living, such as capitalism, socialism, spiritualism, or another ism meant to make the self feel more special.

But since this perception is founded on a particular belief system, it is restricted by its concepts. And since self-discipline does not make you delighted but angry, you do not get the peace the belief system promised. Primarily because the thoughts you have compiled into perception aligned with your preferred belief system do not like being manipulated. Hence, they move faster and faster to escape your domination.

No worries, if you do not try to stop this restless energy, it automatically ignites a take-off into the empty breath, where the slate is wiped clean. Therefore, since you only have perceptions in sync with the experiences the brain produces, you feel entertained by all of them. Fortunately, you do not have to uphold these perceptions yourself. Since the basic self is relative to the experiences created by the brain (read more about that here), it is not definitive. Hence the inexact flow of thoughts coming from the brain seems natural. But not to the special self because it wants to be definitive.

To distance itself from the brain, the special self composes a perception in which the basic self has been transformed into someone definitive independent of the brain. However, this twisted perception calls for more thoughts than those few the brain has available to make a perception aligned with the basic self. Thus, the special self meditates to generate more thoughts.

Those who perceive themselves as unique beings with the power to do things in their way and pace need many thoughts to uphold their crooked perception. However, the movement of so many thoughts soon becomes so hectic that they try to slow them down via meditation.

That is the official reason. But as anybody who has meditated knows, thoughts multiply when trying to control them. And that is the real reason for meditating because many thoughts are needed to construct a unique spiritual appearance.

 ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self does not feel disturbed by the flow of thoughts from the brain. On the contrary, it loves this quiet flow because it makes it easy to serve the brain in a laid-back way. However, the special self does not want to serve but to master the brain. Thus it feels disturbed by its thoughts, although, if not interfering, there are only a few.

The frantic flow of thoughts, the special self experiences, has been generated by itself. It has multiplied the simple flow the brain develops to maintain a basic itself into a large group of thoughts from which it can compose a perception of itself as an independent being. Read more about that here. Then, when it needs a break from the multitudes of thoughts, it looks for something numbing like alcohol, drugs or a mantra.

But when it manages to escape the thoughts, it feels horrified because, without all the special thoughts it has generated, the idea of being in control falls apart. Hence there is no self-deception to hide that it depends on the brain. Acknowledging that, it feels embraced by the gentle flow of thoughts from the brain.

Most like to believe they feel upset because of the thoughts coming from the brain. However, the distress comes from the attempt to edit them. When a single thought is sought out from the stream of thoughts, it generates a new stream, and if a specific thought is singled out from that, yet another stream is made, and so on – just like if you split a neutron from an atom nucleus, it sends out more neutrons all by itself, that split and sends out more neutrons. It is a chain reaction.

The special self likes to believe that visualising something will make it happen because that seems to confirm it is in control. But if that were true, everybody would win the lottery.

To think you are in control is like believing you control the TV with the remote. Somebody else has made what you see, and the only thing you can change is your perception of it. That is also how the basic self has been transformed into a special self, namely by perceiving the basic self so that it seems to be an independent being in charge of its own life.

The special self needs constant approval from others to feel alive. To get that, it often establishes a family, which it can manipulate into giving it the confirmation it needs. If that does not work as intended, the special self may pay a psychologist to ratify its uniqueness. But it does not realise how dependent it is on those supporting its perception of being independent.

When the brain scripts you to feel sexual lust, you will feel horny no matter what you believe in being. However, you will not enjoy it if you try to suppress your sex drive through meditation or tantra sex. Read more about sex here.

If you perceive yourself as detached from the experiences of the brain, you fool yourself because you need them to prove this.

When you try to solve absent-mindedness through mindfulness meditation or grounding exercises, you make it worse because you do not know who you are. Only your maker knows that. And since it is the brain, the solution, in the context of believing to be someone, is to be aligned with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain instead of using meditation to distance yourself from it.

Mindfulness is for those who cannot help exploiting others – just like in ancient times, monks introduced meditation to the barbarians seeking shelter in Ashrams to teach them to control themselves, thus refraining from abusing others.

The basic self has no need to relax or transform itself through meditation, yoga, fitness and whatnot. On the contrary, as its perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain, it is like a stream of happiness. Therefore, since it regularly forgets to remember being someone, it knows there is nothing to transform.

On the other hand, the special self never forgets to remember being somebody. It is always on a mission to become more and be part of something greater. But since that never turns out as expected, it settles for following someone that seems to improve its social status.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you need to relax, you are trying to be someone definitive. Because to achieve that, you have excluded the thoughts you find upsetting from the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Since that does not result in peace but fear of the repressed, you look for something that makes you relax. However, not trying to edit the ever-changing flow of thoughts but perceiving it as ‘it is what it is,’ you are not someone definitive but relative to the present experience produced by the brain. Therefore, since hating what you dislike feels just as exciting as loving what you like, there is no need to relax.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self always looks for something to fix. But it rejects the solution that would fix everything immediately, namely not perceiving the brain as an enemy but as a friend (read more about that here). By doing that, everybody becomes a friend because the brain produces the experience of others.

Ultimately, the solution is to undo the belief in being someone who experiences something. As this is the end of being someone, the special self avoids it by meditating or something else that seems to confirm it exists.

The many doctrines of the world easily manipulate those who believe they have free will to become spiritual, socialistic, capitalistic or something else they think will make them independent of the brain.

However, you cannot avoid the brain’s commands – just like a car is in the hands of the driver, you are in the hands of the brain.

So even though the special self perceives the ride per the particular doctrine, it follows nothing changes other than how the special self sees it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you perceive the brain’s basic rendering of you in a capsule of time and space as a bit boring, the special self sets in by offering you more exotic ways of perceiving it, for example, by coming from the heart (read more about that here), or living in the now.

But since all experiences – no matter where you believe they come from or how they seem to be experienced – are constructions of thoughts fabricated by the brain (read more about that here), these special perceptions are nothing but a reconstruction of the thoughts made by the brain.

However, they do not work because they are exclusive and not inclusive. Any experience the brain creates consists of all thoughts popping up at that moment, including about the past and the future. When in sync with the whole bunch, every moment feels perfect.

But this is not how it feels if you eliminate some of those thoughts to adjust to concepts like coming from the heart or living in the now. That makes you feel imperfect.

Like the night excludes the day and vice versa, spirituality excludes consciousness and vice versa.

It feels like you are someone in a computer game just because it seems to make you feel something. But this feeling is based on your interpretation of computer-generated events. Therefore, what you feel is made by you. The same applies to what you feel in the world where you believe to read this. It is founded on your interpretation of the experiences produced by the brain. Consequently, it is you who choose what to feel.

It is also you who interpret experiences as there is a god, higher consciousness, or whatnot. But there are no experiences. That requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless.

When you meditate to exclude something, you establish it as real, otherwise, there is no reason to get rid of it. But anything you are aware of is unreal because it takes more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is one. Fortunately, you eventually forget what and where you appear to be when applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks, except for the Enlightenment of that which is One, where it occurs immediately. Hence, there is nobody to be conscious of something.

The special self wants to make selected ones feel unique, so they depend on it to be appreciated.

The special self is always looking for errors in its personality to correct them, thus appearing in control. But the basic self does not consider itself in charge of anything. Instead, it sees itself as a servant of everything because it adjusts to the flow of thoughts coming from the brain, which does not know about personal preferences but what is in the best interest of the whole.

Thinking you are in control, you are under enormous pressure. You must always look for thoughts that can be used to compose a perception of your experiences to prove that you, not the brain, are in control.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You hit the buttons on the remote control to get specific channels on the TV. It is not difficult, so it does not establish you as essential. But if you imagine you are the master of buttons, you appear more important, although what is in the movie you may get is beyond your influence.

As you can see, being the special self is not about what you do but the thoughts concerning it. Especially thoughts in the category of master and servant – like when you think you master the remote control, your coffee machine, children or pets. Or if you have a boss that puts you down, but you still seem to be on top of it by thinking, you could do it much better.

The special self always finds something about others that it judges as wrong. Hence they become the imperfect background for its perfection.

When the special self perceives to fail, it takes on being secondary. Thus the failure does not seem to have been caused by itself but by somebody else.

When a ball is coming your way, it´s a natural reflex to respond and following such reflexes is pure fun.

Sometimes a doctor may check the function of a body by knocking on special points to see if the involuntary movements work. But everything you think that you do voluntarily is automatic. If you believe in being in control, you have worked hard to perceive the body’s activity as generated by you.

To fabricate this perception, you suppress your reaction to the reflexes that do not fit into your idea of calling the shots. Thus you become a person who seems to do everything by your own choice. And others appear to be doing things against or for you by their choice. However, keeping up this impression is hard because you always have to hide that the brain administers everything you do.

Therefore, not hiding that but gladly serving the brain, you are following your nature, thus feeling free.

The basic self’s perception is in sync with the stream of thoughts coming from the brain. Therefore, since feeling the flow of happiness, it does not need to be or achieve something special to feel good. But the special self is out of sync with the flow, so it does not feel its happy vibe. Instead, it tries to create it by looking for special moments in the past to replicate in the present to feel special.

If the special self discovers that others have interpreted something it did as wrong, it avoids feeling guilty by shouting, »Look what you made me do.«

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The experiences the brain produces to make you feel like someone can, in many ways, be compared to the news that Facebook generates for you. Based on the info Facebook has gathered about you, it collects what its artificial intelligence predicts you wish to see, regardless it is fake or not. However, unlike Facebook, the brain has all your info, so the experiences you get from it are based on you. Thus what you experience is what you are. That cannot be altered – only your perception of it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world defined by time and space is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain. But since it cannot manifest its fabrication, it has made a self that feels the experiences it produces, so it seems to confirm a world defined by time and space is real, which in return seems to prove the self is a substantial being in a tangible world. In other words, what and where you believe in being is a brain fantasy. Consequently, there is nothing real to confirm the brain’s existence, wherefore nothing is making the fantasy of you as someone in a world defined by time and space – just like nobody is making a dream and nobody is in it.

The special self avoids being part of the whole. Instead, it concentrates on those elements which it can manipulate into admiring it for being unique. Those the special self cannot control, it claims, are dominating. It does all that to escape its self-hatred. When not succeeding, the special self considers letting go of something because that reestablishes it as in control of itself.

Again and again, the special self likes to show off as if it has invaluable insights from extraordinary experiences that can help others get better. However, it is as impossible as helping someone in a dream. Therefore, the special self pieces together an interpretation of its interaction with others that, in retrospect, establishes itself as someone who has helped them get better.

Though it may not succeed in manipulating others into believing this, it often succeeds in convincing at least one person by making that person feel so wanted and loved that it thinks it cannot live without the one making it feel that.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The special self needs to be part of something important, not to feel alone. Thus it checks all notifications on Facebook and makes sure to like what its friends write so that it will like it and be liked by them, and they all are confirmed to be together in a group of extraordinary people. That is, if you believe there is something in cyberspace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You cannot escape the hell of the self-discipline required to uphold the perception of being special if you are afraid of losing something. And this you are, as long as you believe to be and have something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If somebody triggers an old feeling of rejection in the special self, it first interprets it as an attack. Next, it justifies feeling rejected by the attack. Therefore, since the feeling seems to originate in the attacker, the special self concludes the feeling does not come from itself. If the perceived attacker exposes this self-deception, the special self points out something from the past to make the attacker feel guilty. Thus the special self is off the hook and can rest assured that it is loved and the attacker is not.

If you justify your unpleasant emotions with something judged as flawed in the world, those feelings are buried in a mental drama of fairness. For example, when you feel angry, it is obscured by the sad story you keep telling about the world to establish you are unfairly treated by it. Hence feeling angry has been removed from your awareness and replaced by a mental concept of being mistreated. This spin also hides, you fear the world will get back at you for blaming it for your negative emotions.

However, this is too shameful to admit. So to save face when you feel attacked by the world, you repeat the story of being unfairly treated to prove you are innocent. But to uphold your innocence, you must continuously suppress feeling selfish, greed, anger and envy, which you do by changing the focus from yourself to others. You keep it at them by pointing out these attributes in them in a way you instinctively know they are ashamed of. You are very good at that, and your friends know it. Nevertheless, they do not expose you because they also look for someone to attack, so they feel off the hook. That is why they recognise it in you.

To hide that you and like-minded ones hate everybody, you meet in special groups where you hug and share in a collectively agreed way of being united. Yet, it is not feelings of love but the wish to hide they hate each other that connects them. Naturally, nobody wants to acknowledge this, least of all do they want to talk about it in the group because if you do not censor yourself to speak and act within the language of love established by the group, or its mentor, you are expelled. And then there is nowhere to go to find relief from your despair.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You do not appear in a physical world to learn something. Everything you encounter is made from empty space. The only purpose of your experiences, including those interpreted as spiritual and as you as someone, is to feel entertained by nothing. Read more about that here.

To prevent the image of the special self from cracking, it is crucial not to feel one’s emotions. Therefore, since the special self suppresses them, it becomes so numb that it cannot feel anything. It is the counterpart of a feeling that defines it. For example, hate defines love. Consequently, you must sense your hatred to feel love. But since the special self excludes the unpleasant part of a duality pair, it has no hatred to define feeling love. Therefore, since it does not know what love is, it reckons it feels love when it meets somebody whose psyche or body complies with its ideas of perfection.

Fortunately, this mistake is easily corrected by perceiving the perceived feeling of love as ‘it is what it is.’ That reveals love is coupled with hate and constantly interacting to define each other. Going with this twofoldness, you have a genuine feeling of love regardless of expectations being met.

Nobody is unjustly treated in the brain’s script. It is all about being entertained by duality, which you are when perceiving your reaction to your experiences as it is what it is’ because that reveals your response is twofold. And since you are in a world of duality, this makes you feel complete

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Should you have conditioned yourself to feel relaxed when you hear a specific kind of music, you find yourself in a story where you know you are supposed to feel relaxed every time you hear this music. In other words, what you believe in feeling is a product of your story. And as most of what you believe in feeling rests on stories, you are hardly ever in touch with your emotions but with how you have conditioned yourself to respond to something. That suits the special self very well. It does not want to experience genuine feelings but how it is supposed to feel them when being what it imagines it is.

Even though waves have different lengths of life and may look like they differ, they all consist of water. Therefore, as they all contain the same, none of them has something that can make them more special than the others.

If you, in your part of the world, are supposed to feel disrespected when someone is more than 15 minutes late for a meeting, you can, in a rational way, prove to others that you are in the right when you claim to feel hurt. But since rationally explaining a feeling changes it into a mental concept, you do not feel hurt. Instead, you feel victorious because you convinced others you were right about being hurt.

However, the feeling of victory only lasts as long as others are willing to listen to your story of being unfairly treated. No worries. If you perceive the meaning you have assigned to your story as ‘it is what it is,’ nothing in it adds up to something specific. Hence the story cannot be used to justify being unfairly treated, thus not suppressing what you actually feel, which in the world of duality always is twofold. Therefore in sync with duality, you feel so fulfilled that you do not need the satisfaction of being in the right. Read more about made-up feelings here.

The stories you make to hide what you feel sooner or later clash with the actual experiences of the world where you seem to be. Thus you feel very confused.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

In the past, the special self made a hateful story it uses for perceiving the present, so it seems to confirm its past judgment of others as evil. And since the past, therefore, appears to repeat itself, the special self can rest assured in its perception of itself as good and others as bad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The English language suits the special self because it is built upon the ‘I’ as primary and others as secondary. You do not talk with others but to them. And when you speak about friends and yourself, you always start by mentioning yourself.

It takes so much time and effort to invent a special self from which selected experiences are eliminated or changed, so you appear to be absent of power strivings, selfishness, greed, anger, negative thoughts or whatever you assume to be politically incorrect. It feels restricting, whereas you feel free when not altering or rejecting something in your perception to shape your image into something special.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs and the special self excludes the apparently dark side of those in its perception of itself to appear as someone definitive, the power of duality is not expressed but suppressed. And even though the special self never feels it has enough energy, it does not correct its perception. It fears it will be devoured by the darkness it has excluded if it includes it.

It is right about being terminated. But only as someone definitive and not in the way it expects. The uncontrolled energy of suppressed feelings ignites a take-off into the empty breath.* In this state of not-knowing,* there is no awareness of being somebody. Hence all that is left is the bliss of nothing from which the self returns to a world of duality with the slate wiped clean. Therefore, since darkness and lightness are perceived as two sides of the same coin that interacts to define each other, it gets the power of the duality flow. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A state of not-knowing* does not reveal non-duality, but that a world of duality is nothing. The result of this revelation is not that you choose to return to non-duality because that requires more than one. Instead, you return to the consciousness of being someone in a world of duality as a basic self.

Being basic, you sooner or later feel so relaxed that you forget to choose, and since not-choosing does not require more than one, the enlightenment of that which is One is bid welcome. See hack #6.1 The Enlightenment of that which is One.

The basic self cannot be changed, but it can be perceived as special

THE BASIC AND SPECIAL SELF PLUS THE ROGUE CONSCIOUSNESS:
You are effortlessly synced with the basic self when not suppressing feelings by holding back the breath or altering its natural rhythm via yoga, for example. And since very few thoughts are required to maintain the synchronisation, they do not seem disturbing but encouraging.

That is, until the consciousness, the brain has installed in the basic self to be aware of itself, decides it knows better than its maker, and plots to change the basic self into a special one. However, shaping and maintaining a special self requires a more complicated construction of thoughts than the simple construction accumulated by the brain to create and uphold the basic self.

Therefore, the rogue consciousness perceives an experience so scary that fear makes you hold back your breath long enough for thoughts to be imprisoned in the gap, from where they force their way out by multiplying themselves. Then, having escaped, they continue their frantic multiplication, which pleases the rogue consciousness because it needs lots of thoughts to make a special self come into being, supposedly free from the brain.

But in a world of duality, all thoughts come in pairs of opposing elements, such as right and wrong, to define each other. Therefore, since you cannot have one without the other, you are never only right but also wrong. However, the rogue consciousness does not want the elements in the duality pairs to collaborate because it wants to set up a self which is excluded from evil, thus only good.

To disconnect the opposing sides in the duality pairs into distinct elements, the rogue consciousness first imagines a judge determining which emotions are specifically good and bad. Then, an executioner punishes the bad ones by excluding them from the new self, so it looks uniquely good and has that feeling of being special. When not interfering with the few thoughts, the brain keeps circulating for you to have a continuous experience of being a basic self, you feel together. But you feel alienated if you add thoughts to the construction of the basic self to appear more special. It is like building castles in the sky because you cannot change how the brain has programmed you. Nor is it necessary because if you do not try to correct the brain, it automatically makes sure you perceive yourself in sync with its basic setup. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But when good and bad are separated, they cannot define each other, as they do in a duality pair. Thus you do not get a genuine but conceptualised experience of good and bad. Nevertheless, that suits the rogue consciousness fine because, with emotions cut off, the special self can mentally decide what good and bad feel like, thus being the master

However, it is hard work to constantly suppress genuine feelings preventing you from using good and bad in a thought-up way – or twisting experiences into a collectively agreed concept of having a good time. Besides, the suppressed emotions mess up the natural flow of the breath, thus the stream of thoughts used to keep the body healthy, wherefore the body seems inflicted with psychosomatic illnesses. So although the special self probably appears as good as planned, it does not genuinely feel good.

On the other hand, the basic self feels as good as bad because it follows the brain’s script of duality, where everything comes in pairs with the opposing elements interacting with each other. Of course, this does not necessarily mean that the basic self has a perfect body, but its problems are not approached as psychological but physical issues. Thus the body knows how to deal with them unless the problems are genetically related.

Fortunately, the happiness of the basic self does not depend on appearance. Sometimes a weak body may even be helpful. For example, Alexius’s poor condition helps him slow down physically and speed up writing Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, you must always choose something to uphold the illusion of separation. Therefore, not choosing anything, the illusion falls apart. THE WORLD IS A CONSTRUCTION OF FRAGMENTED THOUGHTS
You can compare the formlessness of oneness to one thought, which is pure peace. But peace is over when that thought is divided into two because they need to differ to appear divided. To achieve this separation, one thought as a separate entity, called a Person, looks at another thought called the World. And to uphold the illusion that there is more than one, the division goes on.

The thought called the World is divided into black-and-white aspects. And the thought called a Person is also divided into two, namely a Judge and an Executioner. Thus we have a Person who chooses between black and white experiences. And then a Judge who divides thoughts into right and wrong so the black experiences can be punished for being wrong by the Executioner.

When that is carried out, the Person feels good because now it is off the hook. Someone else is guilty of the mess that separation seems to entail. Read more about projections here. However, since this arrangement sets other divisions in motion, the relief is short-lived. So, again and again, the interaction of Person, WorldJudge and Executioner is used to make someone else look bad and yourself good.

Although this happens as an inner dialogue inside a Person, it is often projected onto something perceived outside of it. For example, what feels wrong inside the World of a Person is projected onto something perceived as evil in the World outside of a Person, such as immigrants, the deep state or communists. The Judge may be projected on a god, parent, boss, or lover. And perhaps society is seen as the Executioner.

That said, the world where we appear to be is not a construction of thoughts or anything else because oneness is formless, thus endless, so there is nothing else than that which is One. However, in the context of the belief that there is more than that, Alexius makes up stories he assumes help realise that they, as everything else experienced, are fictitious because it takes more than one to be aware of something.

The special self keeps returning to Facebook or similar media, where messages and likes confirm its specialness. But, if not continually established as unique, it starts doubting itself and thus loses its sense of control, which it fears more than anything else. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

BEING IN SYNC WITH DUALITY OR NOT:
What you believe in being is a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain into pairs of contrasting elements, such as happiness and sadness, to define each other. When in sync with the ongoing interaction of opposites, you do not want to separate happiness from sadness because the interaction makes you feel complete.

But you are not in sync with duality if negative thoughts are judged as wrong, thus excluded from the perception of yourself to appear solely positive. Without the awareness of negativity in yourself, there is nothing to define your positivity. Hence, nothing will turn you on – like you cannot turn on a TV without the negative pole in the electrical wire.

Being out of sync with duality occurs when the consciousness that the brain has installed in the self goes rogue and makes a special perception of the present moment where the elements in the duality pairs do not collaborate to define each other. Instead, they separate into individual aspects, so you can decide to only feel love for someone and hate for another, for example.

However, since love is not defined by hatred anymore, you do not feel genuine love but a speculative version of it. The same applies to hate. And since you believe your single-minded notions are real, you clash with the world because it consists of duality pairs. You can correct that by going with the interaction of love and hate. This you do by perceiving your single-minded notion of either love or hate as ‘it is what it is’ because this reveals love is in hate and vice versa. But instead of accepting that, you probably accuse the brain of ruining love. But you are a product of the brain (read more about that here), so your disapproval is a condemnation of yourself.

When the brain wants you to run, it uses the biological system to signal the body. It starts running regardless you are a basic or special self. The basic self, as always, feels entertained by following the brain’s commands. But the special self loathes the brain and its simple ideas of entertainment and thinks it knows better. TEMPTED TO BECOME SPECIAL:
When the consciousness of the basic self goes rogue, it responds like a spell checker to the calm stream of thoughts coming from the brain. It automatically interprets it so the self, which initially was made and administered by the brain, seems self-made, thus independent of the brain.

But since the rogue consciousness interpretations are single-minded, thus out of sync with duality, thoughts do not feel at home. Therefore, they multiply and move about so rapidly that the calm stream of thoughts from the brain becomes a wild one full of ideas for getting more.

At first, this turbulence seems scary to the basic self, but the rogue consciousness convinces it that it is for the best because now there are so many thoughts that you have endless possibilities. Besides, when you become special, you are in control so that you can arrange everything your way.

Therefore, most persons gladly welcome the corrections the rogue consciousness does to transform them into a unique self with unlimited ways of realising themselves, contrary to the basic self, limited by the brain, that it blindly follows.

But the rogue consciousness did not tell you that you must spend many years in school learning to make order out of this mess by labelling everything so you can follow predefined ways of being unique.

In other words, appearing independent and special is complicated and exhausting, whereas not being someone specific but relative to the brain’s script is uncomplicated and vitalising. Therefore, if you want to have a good time while appearing as someone in a world of duality, use one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks to enter a state of not-knowing. It wipes the slate clean of all misperceptions, thus restoring the basic self. Since it is relative to the brain, it is in sync with its experiences as they are and not as they could be if you were a special self following a specific philosophy

Therefore, as the basic self, you have fun going with the duality flow, contrary to the special self, which is imprisoned by specific concepts of being positive or whatnot. Read more about that here. That said, once having been established as a special self, you probably keep going back and forth between that and the basic self until you do not need to feel something specific to feel happy because that is impossible as the basic self. It only knows the fullness of twofoldness.

Should you not want to play the game of duality, thus having the belief in it undone, it is not necessary to be the basic self. Still, it is much easier because, not being special, suddenly you forget to remember what and where you are, which is the invitation the Enlightenment of that which is One waits for. PS: Since you are bound to follow the brain’s commands physically, your life progresses the same whether you are the basic or special self. It is only mentally that it seems different.
