+The brain makes experiences to entertain you

Alexius’ Duality Hacks are not about transforming yourself. On the contrary, being someone is a fantasy made from nothing. When you acknowledge being nothing, pretending to be something feels entertaining. In this hack, we explore that.

The world of duality is the brain

No matter your choice in a computer game, the game’s creator has prearranged the following storyline. Likewise, in a world of duality, every experience unfurls according to the brain’s script, regardless of your choices. But unlike the computer game player, who is outside the game, the one experiencing the brain’s duality game is not outside it. There is no outside – like in a dream, everything in a world of duality is in the brain, despite where you appear.

The fantasy of duality is fixed, but you can perceive as you prefer

Like a dream is beyond our control, the thoughts the brain uses to construct the experiences of duality cannot be altered. However, to make it seem like intangible thoughts manifest a material world, you must react to the brain’s experiences as you perceive them as substantiating.

Metaphorically, the brain has made a pool of stories that you can use to perceive its mental experiences as material. The stories are based on you being the basic self in a world of duality. Using them unedited makes you feel like somebody substantial in a material world. Hence, since you are in sync with the brain’s duality experiences, the pool of stories sounds like a fountain. But if you edit the pool stories to appear as a special self, mastering the brain, the pool sounds like stormy weather.

To escape that noise and establish being a special self, many focus on internal conversation, distorted to highlight their greatness and independence. However, since their story of glory does not correspond with the experiences created by the brain, which are the ones in effect, they feel confused. Unfortunately, most do not correct their internal discussion but conceal it via meditation or drown it out with more thoughts that seem to prove they are special.

No worries. If you do not try to solve your feeling of bewilderedness but perceive it as ‘it is what it is,’ you see confusion is constantly interacting with sureness. Thus, feeling complete in the duality flow, the pool of stories sounds delightful.

Singularity vs twofoldness

If you think you have free will, you establish it by saying, ‘I know what it is.’ But that perception is singular, not twofold, and you cannot see a world of duality without the collaboration of opposites. Hence, twofoldness continues regardless of your singular perception, which only seems to work in your conditioned view of the world.

So, if you want to correct that, you step back and have the brain solve your fixed view by perceiving it as ‘it is what it is.’ Therefore, since your rigid view is revealed as twofold, not singular, you are in sync with the world of duality rendered by the brain. Consequently, you feel complete.

In short, when the brain or you perceive your response to something as ‘it is what it is,’ you feel your reaction as twofold, hence in sync with duality. But if you hold onto a singular point of view, you collide with the brain’s script of duality.

Fulfilled by twofoldness

Since twofoldness makes you feel fulfilled, you do not need to hang onto something from the past to feel good. Nor do you need to be in the present. Time is a construction, so it makes no difference what point you relate to in the timeline of the brain’s duality script now.

That is why you are in sync with the brain’s script, thinking about something concerning the past or future while taking a stroll in the park now. It is like watching a movie. You are linked to its plot, regardless of thinking about its past or future while watching the present part.

Hence, your perception is out of sync with the script if something is not entertaining. Fortunately, the brain immediately corrects your perception if you acknowledge your mistake. However, since you are out of sync mainly because you want to be in control, you probably want to avoid admitting you are mistaken.

No worries, perceiving your reluctance as ‘it is what it is,’ you realise unwillingness is not singular but twofold. Therefore, since you get into the interaction of unwillingness and willingness, you feel entertained, thus in sync with the brain’s script of duality.

You experience something to get the duality flow

The brain crafts all experiences much like it weaves a dream: a tumultuous, unpredictable, and incompatible creation that defies your rational perception of the world. So, if your life experience seems to lack chaos and aligns with your rationale, it’s because you’ve retrospectively interpreted the brain’s irrational arrangements to appear consistent.

But it seems weird to the brain that you run around like a headless chicken, trying to make sense of it all within the confines of a belief system. Why not revel in the whimsy the brain creates? It’s like a delightful magic show, with the brain as the star performer, pulling surprises out of its hat at the most unexpected moments.

For example, you start doing the laundry as usual. Then, the brain breaks conformity by drawing you to the window to see a demonstration on the street. Feeling entertained by that, you return energised to the laundry. When it is finished, and you realise you have not included your dirty underwear in the laundry, there is no reason for that other than it is how the brain scripts it. It does not care about consistency but having fun twisting nothing into experiences of something. That is all. There is nothing to understand.

On the other hand, if you had planned to do the laundry linearly and tried to stick to that, going to the window would not have seemed entertaining but disturbing. Thus, you would have blamed the brain for distracting you and looked for methods to control it so that you would be free to do things at your own pace and way.

As mentioned earlier, we have no control over how events unfold. We cannot avoid going to the window if that’s what the brain has in store for us

However, you can decide to go slowly or fast. But no matter your choice, the brain has already arranged the subsequent events. It is like playing a computer game with multiple possible outcomes, all of which are preprogrammed. Thankfully, it is unnecessary to change anything. When you play the duality game as it is, the fear of defeat is as entertaining as the thrill of success.

Like two sides of a coin define each other, so do opposing feelings, such as happiness and sadness. Therefore, do not avoid feeling sad, but dive into it unedited to get the happiness it defines, thus feeling happy/sad. This applies to any feeling you judge negatively, for example, hate. Its positive counterpart, love, is inside it. Acknowledging their interdependence, you are in the duality flow. Like a river, it runs back to its source, so you are on the way to non-duality. Not happy, not sad, but happy/sad

Since every experience is made from pairs of opposing elements in a world of duality, there is no happiness without sadness. Fortunately, if you do not hide your sadness from your consciousness to imagine a singular feeling of happiness, you sense that sadness contains happiness and vice versa. Thus, feeling happy/sad, you are complete in the duality flow and, therefore, experience everything to the fullest.
