To bid welcome the peace of one

The previous hack, Everything experienced is a symbol of life, was about how a world where there seems to be more than one appears to hide that which is One. However, this is impossible because there is no more than that which is One since it is formless, thus endless. Therefore, since seeing more than one is unreal, it is the belief it is real which seems to hide there is no more than that which is One.

Like children prefer to suppress that Santa Claus is made-up to feel excited about the presents he will give them, you choose to believe the weird story of a world where there seems to be more than one to feel entertained by endless possibilities. It sounds more appealing than oneness in which there is nothing to choose since that requires more than one. That is until you realise, that having endless choices are frustrating, whereas having none but one is nothing but peace.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, peace is the absence of war. But in oneness, peace is the absence of more than that which is one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling at peace in a world where there seems to be more than one is based on experiences, such as being with your spouse in special surroundings without disturbances. But when the experiences are based on excluding something judged as disturbing, they are founded on separation, therefore bound to cause loneliness.

So, you will not get real peace before you realise all experiences are unreal, as it requires more than one to be aware of something, and there is no more than that which is One. However, seen from the perspective of a world where there seems to be more than one, this is depressing because, without experiences, there is nothing to look forward to, thus nothing to be excited about. But that is why oneness is so peaceful.

Excitement is based on the idea that there must be something larger, better, faster, wilder, deeper or purer. Therefore, since you always hope for more, you never get enough.

It may seem more exciting to experience being someone in the virtual world of a computer game than in the physical world. And being there seems more exciting than having nothing but the formless peace of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

As it requires more than one to describe something, oneness cannot be described, and since oneness is formless, thus endless, anything describable is an illusion. Therefore, the description in Alexius’ Duality Hacks should not be taken literally. Nor should they be taken as pointers to oneness, as it requires more than one to point to something.

In this context, the descriptions inAlexius’ Duality Hacks point towards the illusion of experiencing, realising or understanding something because it requires more than one to be conscious about anything.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You may play a computer game to get more excitement. And as long as you believe there is more to find by exploring the deeper levels of the game, you keep playing. Likewise, you go on participating in a world where there seems to be more than one to have more fun than you can get in that which is One. As it takes more than being and having something, you are nothing, thus have nothing, in oneness. But that is why it is so peaceful.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The purpose of holding onto the belief in being a separated creature shaped as a body is that you imagine the body can be used to hide what you judge as wrong in yourself, so a superior image of you can be fabricated.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Questions and uncertainty arise from not being at peace, which comes from believing to be someone definitive living in a capsule of time and space instead of nobody in the formlessness of oneness. Within the context of this belief, there are answers to questions like how to build a house, go from one place to another, and similar practical things. But there are no answers to existential questions because a world encapsulated by time and space is as fictitious as a computer game.

A relaxed body does not need to be released through orgasm, for example, but a tense body has. And if you believe to be somebody, you feel tense because this is how you experience being in a body. But if you do not believe to be there, there is no-body with a need to be tense to feel real, thus no need for orgasm to relax. This does not necessarily mean you never have an orgasm, but it is just for the fun of it. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

An orgasm is only possible when you believe you are in a body and need the excitement of a climax to confirm it is real.

This is also what you want to confirm if you try to avoid orgasm via tantra, for example, because there is no reason to avoid it if not assumed to be in a body.

Therefore, not trying to establish yourself as someone in a body, you do not need the excitement of a physical climax to ratify the body is real.

This is not meant to say orgasm or anything else is wrong. It is only if you believe that a world where there seems to be more than one is real, you need to appoint something as bad.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Although excitement always is evoked by something that has an end, you still expect it to bring something everlasting. When you accept you are mistaken, you automatically do without excitement, thus having the peace of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When not rushing around to get excited about this and that, boredom will reveal the peace of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Perhaps you are a fool running after more. Still, you are not stupid, so when you realise that more is never enough and whatever you get more of entails more suffering, you will automatically correct the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world where there seems to be more than one is all about the excitement that comes from imagining what the future will be like based on past dreams. But when there is nothing to hope for, it is pretty dull believing to be in a world where there seems to be more than one. Fortunately, the more bored you are, the more you bid welcome that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You may blame the world for not getting enough. But the world is not the reason. It is the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. It is you who choose to believe that. And you will not be motivated to change your choice as long as there is hope for new experiences of excitement triggered by, for example, a very special person, the latest gadget or the promise of being transformed into something better.

When you know that there is no lasting excitement to get in the future and that you started this endless quest for more, you are ready not to choose excitement but peace. Well, you cannot choose peace, but you can decide not to look for excitement. Without it, there is peace.

The above is not meant to make you feel guilty about wanting more (or less). On the contrary, this desire is needed to uphold a world where there seems to be more than one. Hence looking for more, you are true to the nature of such a world. However, you can keep being true to that while having the belief in being in such a world undone. The more you perceive everything you become and have as a symbol of that which is one, the more the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one fades out.

Hack #2.2 Peace of non-duality versus the excitement of duality is not meant to stop you from being excited about something in a world where there seems to be more than one. Alexius’ Duality Hacks is never about controlling or avoiding anything but undoing the belief that there is something at all.

The undoing of this belief occurs automatically when you apply one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks. For example, if you perceive your experiences as a symbol of that which makes it possible to experience them, namely that which is One because when they all are a symbol of the same, there is nothing to establish their apparent difference to make a difference (hack #2.1). Hence it seems exciting to undo the belief that there is anything to be excited about.

If you are stranded in a desert, there is no lasting solution but to leave it. The same applies if you are passed up in a world where there seems to be more than one, except that It is not the world you need to leave but the belief that you are there. However, this belief cannot be undone in your way, as that enhances the belief in being someone definitive. Fortunately, it can be undone by applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Every time you do something to get rid of feeling inferior, on a psychological level, you are reminded about why you do it, namely because you feel inadequate. Consequently, this feeling is enhanced the more you try to get rid of it. And since you feel inferior because you believe to be separated, this belief gets more robust. Thus the peace of oneness is fenced off.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Excitement is always about attaining something special in the future, perhaps, the love from someone you secretly are attracted to. However, should this happen, you start to imagine how exciting it will be to move together, have babies, a holiday cottage and whatnot to suppress you do not feel at peace no matter how excited you get.

There is no excitement in peace because there is no need to look forward to something new. Excitement is the imagination about something in the future. Peace, though, is not an imagination, and it cannot come in the future because it is that which is one, and it has neither future nor past. It is one perpetual present – and that is all there is.

Should it seem that this article misses an end, it could be because peace is not about finishing something as it is that which is One, and oneness never ends.

Even though this image is flat and basically is made up of repeating lines, you may choose to experience the illusion of a person in the distance, as this appeal to your desire for excitement.

This image is flat, and Mona Lis is not behind the repeating lines. Yet you may choose to see her hidden in the distance because it appeals to your longing for mystery and excitement. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

How come so many people like to watch a movie? Maybe to get away from everyday life and experience something more exciting.

How come some like to watch porn? Perhaps they feel alone or realise fantasies by watching porn – or maybe just because it is more exciting.

How come most are looking forward to a holiday? Could it be because they need to relax and regenerate or because they want to experience something new and more exciting.

On holiday you can attend events fabricated to improve the feeling of pleasure, so you have an experience out of the ordinary. A movie – porn or not – is produced with the same purpose: to entertain and give you an extraordinary experience. It does not matter if it appears unrealistic, as long as it is exciting.

But the experiences of your everyday life are also produced to entertain you. For example, the brain constructs your experiences, so everything seems dimensional – even flat things like movies seem dimensional, thus exciting. Compared to this, oneness appears pretty ordinary. It is non-dimensional and timeless. Hence not anything to look forward to or get excited about. But that is why it is nothing but peace.

There is not something to lose in oneness because there is no more than one. And since it is formless, thus endless, you are never disturbed from outside, nor inside, as with no outside, there is neither inside. This is hugely satisfying if peace is what you want – but not if you look for excitement.

Thus you start thinking, what if there is something outside of oneness. If so, you could escape. Then, by envisioning ‘what if,’ you see a world where there seems to be more than one. It seems very exciting being fragmented into individual pieces instead of being one. However, what needs to be imagined is not real. Therefore, if you are tired of all the problems it seems to involve appearing in a world where there seems to be more than one, you can stop imagining more than one.

You do that by seeing every appearance as a symbol of that which is One. Therefore, since you are not identified with being someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one, you bid welcome the formlessness of oneness. And as that is no different from that which is you, it is only a matter of time before the symbols do not appear to hide what they symbolise.

How long this will take is not essential because time is a symbol of that which is One and, like all other symbols, an illusion. So even though you appear to be waiting to return that which is you, it is not so. That is where you are. It is not possible to be anywhere else.
