To welcome the peace of oneness

The previous hack, Everything experienced is a symbol of life, was about how a world where there seems to be more than one appears to hide that which is One. However, it is impossible to hide oneness because it is formless and thus endless. Therefore, since seeing more than one is a fata morgana, it is the belief that it is real which seems to hide there is no more than the formlessness of oneness.

But like children prefer to suppress that Santa Claus is fake to feel excited about his presents, most choose to believe the weird story of a world where there seems to be more than one to feel entertained by its endless possibilities. Having so many choices sounds more exciting than oneness because there is nothing to choose since that requires more than one. But when you realise that endless choices are frustrating, you appreciate the peace of having nothing to desire.

In a world where there seems to be more than one, peace is the absence of war. But in oneness, peace is not the absence of something because there is no more than that which is One. This is peace.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Feeling at peace in a world where there seems to be more than one depends on experiences, such as being in exceptional surroundings without disturbances. But when the experiences are based on excluding something judged as disturbing, they are founded on separation, thus bound to cause loneliness.

So, you will not get real peace before you realise all experiences are unreal. However, seen from the perspective of a world where there seems to be more than one, this realisation is depressing because, without experiences, there is nothing to look forward to, thus nothing to be excited about. Nevertheless, that is why oneness is so peaceful.

Excitement is based on the idea that something larger, better, faster, wilder, deeper or purer must exist. Therefore, since you always look for more, you never have enough.

It may seem more exciting to experience being someone in the virtual world of a computer game than in the physical world. And being physical seems more exciting than having nothing but the abstract peace of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Since it requires more than one to describe something, oneness cannot be described, and since oneness is formless, thus endless, anything describable is an illusion. Therefore, the description in Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings should not be taken literally. Nor should they be taken as pointers to oneness because it requires more than one to point to something.

In this context, Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings point toward the illusion of experiencing, realising or understanding something because it requires more than one to be conscious of anything.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You may play a computer game to get more excitement. And as long as you believe there is more to find by exploring the deeper levels of the game, you keep playing. Likewise, you participate in a world where there seems to be more than one to have more fun than in that which is One. Since it takes more than one, being and having something, you are nothing, thus having nothing, in oneness. But that is why it is so peaceful.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The purpose of holding onto the belief in being a separated creature shaped as a body is to use the body to hide what you judge as wrong in yourself so that you can fabricate a superior image of yourself. See hack #4.3 The toxic mix of physical and non-physical issues.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Questions and uncertainty arise from not being at peace, which comes from believing to be in a capsule of time and space instead of nobody in the formlessness of oneness. Within the context of this belief, there are answers to questions like how to build a house, go from one place to another, and similar practical things. But there are no answers to existential questions because a world encapsulated by time and space is as fictitious as a computer game.

A relaxed body does not need to be released through orgasm. But if you believe in being somebody, your body is tense because this is how you experience being in it. However, if you do not believe to be there, there is no need to be tense to feel real, thus no need for an orgasm to relax. This does not necessarily mean you never have sex, but when you have, it is just for fun. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

An orgasm is only possible when you believe you are in a body and need the excitement of a climax to confirm it is real.

This is also what you want to confirm if you try to avoid orgasm via tantra, for example, because there is no reason to avoid it if not assuming to be in a body.

Therefore, not trying to establish yourself as someone in a body, you do not need the excitement of a physical climax to ratify the body is real.

This is not meant to say orgasm or anything else is wrong. On the contrary, it is only if you believe a world where there seems to be more than one is real that you need to avoid something.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Although excitement always is ignited by something that has an end, you still expect it to bring something everlasting. But when you accept you are mistaken, you can do without excitement, thus having the peace of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When not rushing around to get excited about this and that, boredom will reveal the peace of oneness.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Perhaps you are a fool running after more. Still, you are not stupid, so when you realise that more is never enough and whatever you get more of entails more suffering, you will automatically correct the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

A world where there seems to be more than one is all about the excitement that comes from imagining what the future will bring. But when there is nothing to hope for, it is pretty dull believing to be in a world where there seems to be more than one. Fortunately, the more bored you are, the more you welcome that which is One. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You may blame the world for not getting enough. But the world is not the reason. It is the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One. You chose to believe this. And you will not change your choice as long as there is hope for new experiences of excitement triggered by an exceptional person, the latest gadget or the promise of being transformed into something better, for example.

But when you realise there is no lasting excitement to get, and you start this endless quest for more, you are ready not to choose excitement but peace. However, you cannot choose peace, but you can decide not to look for excitement. Without it, there is peace.

The above is not meant to make you feel guilty about wanting more (or less). On the contrary, this desire is needed to uphold a world where there seems to be more than one. Hence looking for more, you are true to the belief in being there. But you be true to this belief while having it undone if you perceive become and having more as a symbol of that which is one. The more you do that, the more the experience of a world where there seems to be more than one fades out.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Hack #2.2 Peace of non-duality versus the excitement of duality is not meant to stop you from being excited about something. Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings is not about controlling or avoiding something but undoing the belief that there is something at all.

The undoing of this belief occurs automatically when you apply one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks. For example, if you perceive your experiences as a symbol of that which makes it possible to experience them, namely that which is One, they all become the same. Therefore, since there is nothing to establish their apparent difference to make a difference, it seems exciting to undo the belief that there is anything to be excited about.

Even though this image is flat and basically is made up of repeating lines, you may choose to experience the illusion of a person in the distance, as this appeal to your desire for excitement.

This image is flat, and Mona Lis is not behind the repeating lines. Yet you may choose to see her hidden in the distance because it appeals to your longing for mystery and excitement. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

How come so many people like to watch a movie? Probably to get away from everyday life and experience something more exciting.

How come some like to watch porn? Perhaps they feel alone or realise fantasies by watching it – or maybe because it is more exciting.

How come most look forward to a holiday? Could it be they imagine it will be more exciting.

On holiday you can attend events fabricated to improve the feeling of pleasure, so you have an experience out of the ordinary. A movie – porn or not – is produced with the same purpose: to entertain and give you an extraordinary experience. It does not matter if it appears unrealistic, as long as it is exciting.

But the experiences of your everyday life are also produced to entertain you. The brain constructs your experiences so they seem dimensional – even flat things like movies appear dimensional, thus exciting. Compared to this, oneness appears pretty ordinary. It is non-dimensional and timeless. Hence there is nothing to look forward to, thus not something to get excited about. But that is why oneness is so peaceful.

There is not something to lose in oneness because there is no more than one. And since it is formless, thus endless, you are never disturbed from outside nor inside. This is hugely satisfying if peace is what you want – but not if you look for excitement.

Thus you start thinking, what if there is something outside of oneness. If so, you could escape. Then, by imagining this, you see a world where there seems to be more than one. However, what needs to be imagined is not real. Therefore, if you are tired of the problems that come from being and having more, you can stop imagining more than one.

You do that by seeing everything as a symbol of that which is One. Then it is only a matter of time before the symbols do not appear to hide what they symbolise. Since time also is a symbol, thus an illusion, it is irrelevant how long this takes. Besides, even though you appear to be waiting to return that which is One, it is not so. That is where you are. It is not possible to be anywhere else.

If you are stranded in the desert, there is no lasting solution but to leave. The same applies if you are passed up in a world where there seems to be more than one, except that it is not the world you need to leave but the belief that you are there. However, this belief cannot be undone in your way, as that enhances the belief in being someone definitive. Fortunately, it can be undone by applying one or more of Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Questions and uncertainty arise from not being at peace, which comes from believing to be someone definitive living in a capsule of time and space instead of nobody in the formlessness of oneness. Within the context of this belief, there are answers to questions like how to build a house, go from one place to another, and similar practical things. But there are no answers to existential questions because a world encapsulated by time and space is as fictitious as a computer game.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Every time you do something to eliminate feeling inferior, you are reminded about why you do it, namely because you feel inadequate. Hence feeling inferior is enhanced the more you try to eliminate it. And since you feel it because you believe in being separated, this belief gets more robust. Thus the peace of oneness seems far away.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

You must believe to be someone definitive to get excited in a world defined by time and space because otherwise, you cannot get the excitement from having a specific experience. However, believing someone definitive feels limiting, whereas not caring about it feels so peaceful that you do not need the excitement from something specific.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Excitement is always about attaining something special in the future, perhaps, the love from someone you secretly are attracted to. Should you get together, you start to imagine how exciting it would be to have babies, for example, to suppress you do not feel at peace no matter how excited you get.

Peace is not a fantasy of something better to come because it is one perpetual present. Therefore, if it seems this article misses an end, it could be because peace is not about finishing something. It is that which is One, and oneness never ends because it is formless.
