In reality, it is impossible to be excited about anything since that requires more than one, and there is no more than that which is One. For the same reason, there is nowhere to go and no one to meet. Therefore, if you want that kind of excitement, you must extend oneness. However, that is impossible because oneness is formless, thus endless. Nevertheless, it seems possible to imagine, oneness can be extended.
When you imagine oneness being extended into more than one, it appears as if you are separated from oneness as an individual who can be and have more than that which is One. However, the experience of twofoldness relies on oneness because it is formless, thus endless. So there is nothing else to generate an imaginary extension of oneness.
The extension of one in two directions is one-dimensional, but since more always wants more, you imagine an extension of neighbouring spaces, so it seems to become two-dimensional.
But you want more choices, so you extend the two-dimensional extension with neighbouring extensions and call it a world.
As this world where there seems to be more than one world is based on the idea that something is missing in that which is One, the sense of lack runs through all experiences of the fictional world. Hence you always look for more.
Transcendental meditation, drugs and virtual computer worlds made with the help of AI (artificial intelligence) are means to simulate a better world within the simulation of a world where there seems to be more than one.
However, you realise that no matter how much more you get, it never lasts. Hence you conclude, you have made the wrong choice.
This sets you free to see that getting more is an illusion. There is no more than that which is one. Therefore, since seeing more than one is a symbol of that which is one, the apparent differences you believe to see do not make a difference.
Consequently, it is not possible to be excited or bored with something specific. That is why the formlessness of oneness is so peaceful.
