CANCELLEX The world is nothing but make-believe

Mark Zuckerberg talks about virtual reality. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

»Suddenly, you’re on the roof of a skyscraper, looking down on the city below. The roof is tiny and you’re close to the edge and a sense of vertigo sets in. You feel the need to step back before you fall. But the edge isn’t really there.«

»You’re really at Facebook’s annual developer conference, and there’s an Oculus headset strapped to your face. The city and its skyscraper are part of an Oculus virtual reality demo that Facebook is sharing with conference attendees … But there’s another thing you notice while standing atop that virtual skyscraper. As you look down, you realise you can’t see your own feet. You’re completely disembodied.« From an article in Wired.

A virtual reality game player is often nauseous because the body is tricked into believing that it is moving and that things outside are not there. Though you seem entirely separated from the world, you are not in the game’s virtual world, even though it feels like you must do something there to survive. Actually, you are sitting in a chair with your eyes covered by a set of goggles. An app fills it with a simulated world that, due to your response to it, seems to create feelings in you as if you are in the real world.

The world in a game is virtual, and only appears to exist, when you play the game.

This can be compared to appearing in a world where there seems to be more than one. There is no oneness in such a world. Thus you appear to be separated from it. Everything that you can see is virtual because it takes more than one to be aware of anything.

Therefore, appearing in a world where there seems to be more than one, you always feel a bit off. Nevertheless, it is possible to feel good experiencing being where you are not when you know it is not real. But if you believe the experiences ratify the world as real, you must act upon them repeatedly to confirm your belief.

There is nothing real in a virtual world, so do not mistake these words for the truth, but merely a suggestion to take off the goggles simulating a world that is not there. Of course, this is a metaphor. That which is One is not covered by a simulated world in a set of goggles but by the belief that there is more than that which is One.

In a game like Monopoly, nothing matters but feeling entertained. Likewise, in the world where we appear to be. When you have had enough, you do not have to learn anything to leave the game because you are not there.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Nothing can be done to be that which is One, as it takes more than one to choose something. In other words, there is nothing to choose. So if you think you have chosen to read this article, you are mistaken.

Therefore, you choose that which is One by choosing not to choose. This will make you flow with the stream of thoughts until the end of them, wherefore there does not appear to be something hiding that which is One. You can read about going the flow of thoughts in hack #4.2 The brain’s script and how to perceive it to feel happy.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Returning to oneness is not about doing inner work and self-reflection to embrace self-love fully. Instead, it is about feeling the despair of separation because that makes it easier to admit it is not real.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The more you become or have, the more you fear losing it because everything in a world where there seems to be more than one has an end. On the other hand, there is no fear in the formlessness of oneness because there is nothing to lose or gain since that requires more than one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The wheels of the world keep spinning because everybody feels they miss something. But that is impossible. Oneness is formless, thus endless, so everything is there. The feeling of loss is just a reminder that you are not someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

What you think about oneness is wrong because it takes more than one to know something. Thus looking forward to oneness is madness. You can, however, look forward to not believing to be someone in a world where there seems to be more than one.

By doing that, the hope for more vanishes, thus the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is One.

This article is part of hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life.

Due to blinking, you never see the present in its entirety – it is a fragmented experience. In other words, the concept of now is, like anything else in a world where there seems to be more than one, an illusion you are tricked into believing is real – just like a magician’s trick. This includes experiences of spirituality. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since a world where there seems to be more than one, according to Alexius’ Enlightened Non-Teachings, is make-believe, so is, of course, this statement. Nevertheless, you cannot appear in such a world without believing in something, so it is up to what you decide to believe.

Suppose it makes you feel relieved relating to a world where there seems to be more than one as an illusion. In that case, a natural consequence might be to have the experience of this illusion wholly undone. This does not mean you must follow Alexius or specific rules of his because if the world is an illusion, so is following something in it. But if you see everything in the illusion as a symbol of reality, namely oneness, eventually everything seems the same. Hence there is no world where there seems to be more than one to cover up that which is one.

Alexius’ Duality Hacks can be compared to a piece of soap. It has no power to do anything by itself – only in the hands of someone does it become useful. Likewise, hack #2.1 Everything experienced is a symbol of life effectively washes away all your beliefs. Should you not like the smell of this soap, by all means, go for another flavour of Alexius’ Duality Hacks.

It takes two to experience this pic. The experienced and the one experiencing it, so seeing this pic, you have made a choice not to be one. To be one, you need to not make a choice.

As it takes more than one to experience this image, you have chosen to see more than one. This takes much effort, whereas not seeing more than one requires none. It does not call for a choice because there is no more than oneness since it is formless, thus endless. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Appearing to be someone in a world defined by time and space, you cannot choose not to be determined by this illusion. But you can choose to see everything as a symbol of the formlessness of oneness. By doing so, what you believe in being is not abruptly destroyed. Instead, you have the belief in being someone definitive undone over time, the more you perceive everything as a symbol of that which is One.

Except for the Enlightenment of that which is One, the same applies to the other duality hacks. In other words, they allow you to enjoy appearing as someone in a world where there seems to be more than one while at the same time undoing the belief that there is more than that which is one. Plain devotion or desperation may also undo this belief.

Being exhausted, defocused, or at the point of giving up are other simple ways of forgetting what and where you are so that there is nothing to define you as someone definitive, thus not something to hide the formlessness of oneness. This also applies to being deeply involved in something, as long as it is not carried out per a special philosophy or an attempt to escape something else.

Choosing to perceive everything as a symbol of that which is One will not change the world’s appearances. But since they all symbolise the same, their apparent difference makes no difference. Hence, believing in a world where there seems to be more than one makes no sense. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

You wish to be someone definitive, so you judge the apparent difference between what you believe to be and see to make a difference. But, since this judgment is based on the belief in separation and suffering is its buddy, you feel tortured.

But perceiving all appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one as a symbol of that which is One, their apparent difference does not appear to make a difference. Therefore, since there is nothing to uphold the belief in separation, its buddy, suffering, is gone.

In short, while you seem to be in a world of choices, it is beneficial to perceive everything in such a world as a symbol of oneness. This choice leads to no choice because the apparent differences in the world make no difference when they are perceived as a symbol of the same.

This is not to say that you from now on should avoid choosing or be careful only to decide what is right, because if you have chosen to perceive what you appear to be as a symbol of oneness, your choices make no difference, as they symbolise the same.

If you want to undo the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one, there is no need to change anything but the choice to believe this. This is automatically corrected when you do not interpret your experiences as real but symbols of that which is real, namely that which is one. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

There is nothing to connect to in a game world because it is not real. If you think you are connecting to something, it is exactly that, something you think. Likewise, there is nothing to connect to in a world where there seems to be more than one. To be connected with the Earth is a joke. It is like connecting to the board of Monopoly. It is meaningless. That is why those who connect to specific appearances in the world are so confused.

You cannot be in the world of Monopoly. It is not real but a symbol of the reality of a world where there seems to be more than one. But you can pretend there is such a world and that you are someone in it, and while pretending you are in virtual reality, you can connect to everything in it as symbols of that which is real.

Read more about pretending to be in a world where you are not in hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive is liberation.

Likewise, you can see the appearances in a world where there seems to be more than one as a symbol of that which is one. Everything still appears to differ from each other, but since they symbolise the same, namely oneness, the difference does not make a difference. Therefore, when your appearance expires in a world where there seems to be more than one, your death is not real but a symbol of that which is, namely oneness. And since it is formless, thus endless, so is that which is you.

Read about differences not making a difference in hack #3.2 Inclusiveness is pure freedom.

Two dolphins are not enough. You want to see more. Maybe you also want them to be bigger – or to perform better. To see them on this pic may be judged as virtual and not good enough, so you want to see them in physical form. Maybe that is not good enough either, because you have ideas about direct experience, so you want to be in the water with them. And so it goes on. What is, is never good enough.

What can you learn when you play a game like Monopoly? You can learn the rules and be better at exploiting them for your benefit so you can take as much as possible from others – preferable everything. When that is accomplished, you have won, and everybody else has lost.

The game mirrors the world. The purpose is the same, namely to get as much as possible at the expense of others. In general, it is about getting more money to buy more. But for some, it is not about having more material things but more power. And for those considering themselves as spiritual, it is about having more peace, love, higher consciousness or whatever they imagine makes them more spiritual.

The name of the game is more, but no matter how much more you get, you will panic when there is no more to gain, and everything is taken from you in the moment of death.

That which is one is formlessness, thus endless. Hence it cannot know, you look for more in a world where there seems to be more than one to suppress oneness. But no matter how much more you become or have, you feel limited because there is no more than that which is One. To overcome that, you may stop desiring to be and have more and instead become more pure and detached from the world. But that is just another variant of looking for more.

All you need to undo the desire for more is to change the purpose of your appearance in a world where there seems to be more than one. If that is to see everything as a symbol of oneness, differences make no difference. Thus it does not matter if you get more or not.
